TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1995 CHEVROLET K1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT AND REAR BRAKE LINES FAILED. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE A REASON FOR THE FAILURE. RIGHT FRONT BRAKE ROTOR SEPARATED DURING A LOW SPEED STOP. THIS WAS A COMPOSITE STYLE BRAKE ROTOR THAT FAILED FOR NO VISIBLE REASON. IF THIS FAILURE HAD HAPPENED DURING A HIGH SPEED STOP LOSS OF CONTROL WOULD MOST LIKELY HAVE HAPPENED. *LA

TOOK TRUCK IN TO HAVE ABS CHECKED, I WAS TOLD THE PUMP AND MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $1300.00. THEN HAD HE BRAKE SYSTEM CHECKED AND ANOTHER LOCATION AND FOUND THAT PUMP PRESSURE TO ALL 4 WHEELS WAS EQUAL, BUT ABS LIGHT COMES ON WHEN STARTED, BUT WILL RESET W/ DISCONNECTION OF THE BATTERY AND/OR FUSE. *JB

APPLIED BRAKES, WHICH WERE HARD, AND THE VEHICLE KEPT GOING DOWN THE HILL AT A FULL RATE OF SPEED AND RAN INTO A TELEPHONE POLE. ALSO, CONSUMER HAS HAD ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES, THEY FAILE D TWICE. UPON IMPACR, THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG DID'NT DEPLOY. *AK

CONSUMER COMPLAINS THAT VEHICLE HAS BEEN EXPERENCING BRAKING PROBLEMS SINCE MAR.-20-97, WHICH WAS THE FIRST TIME SHE TOOK IT TO THE DEALERS; SECOND TIME WAS MAY -27-97, DEALER TOLD HER THEY COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. VEHICLE HAS GOTTEN WORSE EVERY TIME IT RAINS OR IF IT'S WET, THE BRAKES APPLIED WOULD CAUSE SKIDDING AND SQUEAKING NOISES. *AK
