The EPS began sporadically and severely jerking the steering very powerfully while driving and stationary and draining the battery at an accelerated rate necessitating multiple replacements of and charging 2 batteries to get to and from my job and anywhere else making everyday life very difficult beginning in early 2024. A couple months before this issue became a daily and constant occurrence in in February 2024 between the 6th and 13th I had a stabilizer link and control arm on the right side replaced and an alignment done at Firestone, on the document for the alignment it states no manufacturers recommended services necessary on suspension. The mechanic who replaced the parts told me that the EPS issue is a likely cause for the steering system damage as a vehicle is not meant to remain stationary while the wheels are forcibly turned as is the case when the EPS takes over and jerks the wheel often to the extremes of its function. I have video of this on multiple occasions and it can be inspected still occuring. I took it to Hendrick Chevrolet Shawnee Mission in April 2024 and explained the services done recently and the mechanics opinion on the EPS. They held my vehicle for 3 days not saying it would take so long, during which I had to use a truck I had just bought and was not ready to be driven to get to work, it's transmission blew and has sat since. They called me to come pick it up and only once there told me they had refused to replace the recalled EPS unit "due to loose steering" as quoted from the document Given to me. I asked them to reconsider since this was the only vehicle I had running and charging batteries and being nearly forced off of the road or into other cars daily was very concerning, they simply told me to take it to another dealership for "a second opinion" I stated I didn't have time for another dealer to hold my car for days because my truck had just gone OOC, they held their position and I drove it until forced to buy a new car in 03/2025
The brake light stays on the whole time.
STEERING WHEEL SHAKES VIOLENTLY WHEN THE CAR IS STARTED. AFTER AWHILE IT GOES OUT COMPLETELY MAKING IT EXTREMEMLY DANGEROUS TO STEER OR TURN WHILE DRIVING. TOOK IT TO A DEALER IN NORFOLK, NE, NORFOLK GM SERVICE CENTER, AND THEY SAID RECALL WAS FIXED BACK IN 2014 AT A SHOP IN HARTINGTON, NE. SAME ISSUE IMMEDIAITLY HAPPENED AGAIN. ISSUE IS NOT FIXED AND CAR REMAINS UNSAFE FOR TRAVEL.

This problem has occurred many times and I have taken to the internet to find out what I could to try to remedy it myself as I don't have endless disposable income to have someone else fix it. I have not had it seen by a professional, only consulted with a manager of a gm dealership repairs department over the phone as well as various mechanics and locksmiths. As I said I don't have endless disposable money to throw at this. The car will completely shut off in the middle of driving, I lose all power. The antitheft system engages in the middle of driving. Then I get no crank no start. I get stuck in the middle of the road. In the past I was able to just turn the key off and remove it and let it sit for a while and then it would let me start it again, this began a year ago and has gotten progressively worse and more frequent since it first occurred and I am now at the point where the car is completely no crank no start and anti theft system will not disengage. From my own research online I've found many others complaining of similar problems and they say it's related to gm passlock system.
The car's anti-theft system (indicated on the dashboard lights) will randomly lock up the engine. Following a massive list of online suggestions from other Chevy owners who had the same problem, I learned to wait for 10-15 minutes with the key in the ignition (lights/radio on, no engine) before the anti-theft indicator disappears and the car can start again. Sometimes, I will have to repeat the process 2-3 times. This has been happening randomly for over 2 years despite taking it into a Chevy dealer for repairs twice. They claimed it was a battery issue and charged me over $500 to fix nothing; The engine would lock up again within a month. A cursory Google search shows that this has affected hundreds if not thousands of GM vehicles, some even claiming the anti-theft lock engaged while they were driving. Please put some serious investigation into the matter so people like me can stop getting price gouged and stuck in freezing weather for GM's incompetence.
I was making a right turn onto a busy highway when my front end made a loud thunk, as if something had broken, then my steering wheel threw itself and locked up on me.
1st when got car from local dealer cruise control worked next day still hasn't, interior lights not working with new bulb, brake light on, leaking oil from pan, front end drifting, than at station no power steering, didn't know wtf, wheels didn't turn, shut off he later was there ignition switch will keep turning. Rins battery dead. I'm scared power steering will go out while driving. It's a scary thought, think I will sell .It's the worse recall I've heard of can they be fixed. Consumer has all 7 recalls.
Driving at any speed the car will randomly brake on its own.
WHEN I'M DRIVING OFTEN..I TURN THE WHEEL AS NORMAL. INTERMITTENTLY I HEAR A DING NOISE COMING FROM MY CONSOLE, AND MY STEERING WHEEL STIFFENS AND I HAVE TO USE A LARGE AMOUNT OF FORCE TO STRAIGHTEN OUT. WELL AFTER A DAY OF NO ISSUES I WAS DRIVING WENT TO PARK AND I PUT MY CAR INTO PARK THE CAR DIED AND REVERSED A LITTLE BIT. IT NOW WON'T TURN OVER AND WON'T MAKE ANY NOISE UNDER THE HOOD. I TRIED JUMPING IT BUT THAT DIDN'T WORK AND I TRIED TO SEE IF MAYBE THE ANTI LOCK SYSTEM SHUT IT OFF BUT IT'S NOT THAT EITHER. WHEN I TURN THE KEY TO THE ON POSITION IT SAYS IT'S STILL IN REVERSE AND WHEN I MOVE THE SHIFTER IT DOESN'T REGISTER ON THE DASHBOARD. SO MY CAR STILL THINKS I'M IN REVERSE.

I'VE HAD ALL RECALL WORK DONE ON MY VEHICLE BUT THIS SOUNDS SIMILAR TO THE 2014 SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER STEERING RECALL - NHTSA #14V153000. TAKING CAR TO THE SHOP THIS WEEKEND TO HAVE IT INSPECTED BECAUSE I DON'T FEEL SAFE.

WHILE RIDING WE WERE TALKING ABOUT WHAT WE WAS GOING TO PUT IN THE HOUSE WE HAD JUST GOTTEN APPROVED FOR THAT FRIDAY AND IN MID CONVERSATION AS I'M GOING AROUND THE CURVE MY CAR GOES OVER THE FOG LINE AND I COULDN'T GET THE CAR BACK INTO MY LANE AND BEFORE I KNEW IT I HIT THE MEDIAN (WALL) ON THE LEFT SIDE, MY HOOD FLEW UP AND THE CAR BOUNCED OFF THE WALL AND ALL I REALLY REMEMBER FROM THAT POINT IS SMASHING ON BREAK BUT APPARENTLY THE CAR KEPT GOING, HIT THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE WALL AND CAME TO A STOP THERE. NEXT THING I KNOW A MAN WAS WAKING ME UP ASKING AM I OKAY AND SAID HELP WAS ON THE WAY. STOPPED, MADE A RIGHT TURN HEADING FOR A TRAFFIC LIGHT AND THE CAR DIED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. COULD NOT TURN THE STEERING WHEEL, NO ELECTRICAL SIGNS OTHER THAN ANTI THEFT LIGHT FLASHING ON DASH. TRIED REPETITIVELY TO START THE CAR BUT AGAIN JUST CLICK CLICK. CLICK. IF I HAD BEEN ON THE THRU-WAY, IT WOULD PROBABLY BEEN AN ACCIDENT. GM ADVISED TO CLEAN, AND GREASE CONTACTS FOR BCM. I DID JUST THAT. THE CLEANING WAS ONLY A TEMPORARY FIX BECAUSE THE ISSUE RETURNED DAYS LATER. AROUND MAY OF 2014 I RECEIVED NOTICE THAT GM ISSUED SEVERAL RECALLS. THE CAR HAD BEEN BROKE DOWN UNTIL FEBRUARY OF 20015, AND IN APRIL IT WAS SENT TO MY LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALER TO HAVE THE RECALLS FIXED. SHORTLY AFTER FIXING THE RECALL ISSUES THE BRAKE LIGHT ISSUES RETURNED. I CONTACTED GM/ CHEVROLET AND THEY CONTACTED MY LOCAL DEALER WHO AGREED TO LOOK AT THE CAR AGAIN FOR FREE. AFTER THEY INSPECTED IT I WAS TOLD THE BRAKE SWITCH NEEDED REPLACED. ON MAY 28, 2015 MY LOCAL CHEVY DEALER REPLACED THE SWITCH. ON MAY 30, 2015 THE BRAKE LIGHT ISSUE RETURNED. I PULLED THE VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD AND PARKED ON A SIDE STREET. AS THE VEHICLE SAT STATIONARY, I NOTICES SMOKE EMINATING FROM BOTH FRONT WHEELWELLS. MOMENTS LATER, THE TIRE VALVE IN MY FRONT LEFT TIRE BLEW, CAUSING THE TIRE TO DEFLATE. I THEN HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. I TOLD THEM WHAT HAD HAPPENED. I ALSO INFORMED THEM THAT I HAD ALREADY TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC, DESCRIBING THE REASON WHY; THIS WAS 06/12/14. ON 06/13/14, THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THAT THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE FRONT BRAKING SYSTEM. I THEN REMINDED THEM THAT I HAD ALREADY TOLD THEM THAT MY MECHANIC HAD ALREADY ESTABLISHED THAT FACT, AND THAT IT WAS HIS RECOMMENDATION THAT I BRING MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE CENTER FOR A MORE DETAILED DIAGNOSIS. THIS RELATES TO RECALL CAMPAIGN 14V153000. IN 2009, I FIRST BEGAN HAVING POWER STEERING FAILURES WHEN ACCELERATING FROM STOPPED. I WOULD FEEL THE STEERING WHEEL JERK TO THE PATH OF LEAST RESISTANCE (STRAIGHTEN) IF I WAS IN A TURN, AND WOULD HEAR THREE CHIMES (DING-DING-DING). IF I RELEASED THE GAS PEDAL, THE POWER STEERING WOULD RESUME OPERATIONS, BUT IF I MAINTAINED PEDAL ACTIVATION, POWER STEERING WOULD REMAIN OFF AND AN ALERT WOULD ILLUMINATE ON THE DASHBOARD INDICATING POWER STEERING FAILURE. THE PROBLEM OCCURRED WITH INCREASED FREQUENCY ON HOT DAYS, ESPECIALLY WHEN AIR CONDITIONING WAS OPERATING ON HIGH (LEADING ME TO BELIEVE THAT IT WAS A LOSS OF POWER TO THE STEERING COLUMN, INDUCED BY A PROBLEM WITH THE WAY THAT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WAS SET UP--GIVING HIGHER PRIORITY TO A/C FANS THAN TO THE POWER STEERING). IN OCTOBER 2009, THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER SPECIAL BULLETIN 10183. HOWEVER, IN APRIL 2014, I BEGAN HAVING THIS PROBLEM AGAIN. ON EVERY DAY WHERE THE TEMPERATURE WAS ABOVE 75 DEGREES, I'VE HAD THIS ISSUE. I CALLED GM AND THEY STATED THAT MY VIN IS NOT AMONG THOSE AFFECTED, THOUGH I DRIVE A 2005 CHEVY MALIBU AND I CLEARLY HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM THAT OTHER VEHICLES USING THE SAME PARTS. I CONSIDER US LUCKY. WE WERE IN A WAL-MART PARKING LOT 25 MILES FROM HOME, AND THE CAR WOULDN'T START. I PLAYED WITH THE IGNITION OFF AND ON FOR HALF AN HOUR, AND A CONNECTION WAS MADE, AND THE CAR STARTED. I WAS CAREFUL TO KEEP IT RUNNING, AND MADE IT HOME. THE NEXT DAY, THE SAME PROBLEM. THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTION TO THE FUEL PUMP WAS MISSING. I HAD IT TOWED TO MY REPAIR SHOP, AND THEY REPLACED THE IGNITION SWITCH. COST $620.54. ON 2/7/2013 THE FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED. I FEEL THAT THE INCIDENTS ARE CONNECTED. I THINK THE LOSS OF ELECTRICAL FEED TO THE FUEL PUMP HARMED THE PUMP, AND CAUSED IT TO FAIL. COST OF FUEL PUMP REPLACEMENT WAS $635.11.THIS ADDS UP TO $1255.65 REPAIR BILLS WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN UNNECESSARY. BESIDES THESE PROBLEMS THERE ARE THE SEATS (PLASTIC PANELS) FALLING/CRACKING APART, WE HAD TO REPLACE THE WINDSHIELD BC ANYTIME IT RAINED OUR SEATS WOULD BE COMPLETELY SOAKED.. & MANY OTHER PROBLEMS I STILL DEAL WITH. CAR LOST POWER, STEERING INTACT & I STEERED IT TO THE SHOULDER OF THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAY. ANTI-THEFT LIGHT WAS FLASHING. ON JUN 4TH, ALL ATTEMPTS TO RESET THE THE SYSTEM FAILED (I WAS WAITING TEN MINUTES WITH KEY IN ON POSITION). THE CAR BEGAN TO FLASH ALL LIGHTS & A BUZZING ALARM SOUNDED. BY JULY, THE ANTI THEFT DEVICE WAS PREVENTING STARTING OR CAUSING THE ENGINE TO STOP ON A DAILY BASIS. A CODE INDICATED A PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL SUPPLY TO THE INJECTORS & POSSIBLY THE FUEL PUMP. (THE ANTI THEFT DEVICE WORKS BY CUTTING OFF THE FUEL TO THE INJECTORS). REPLACED 2 FUEL PUMPS (ALL WORKING), HAD ELECTRICAL SYSTEM CHECKED, REPLACED A DEFECTIVE FUSE BOX,BENT PLUG. THE PROBLEM OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY, & WAS DOCUMENTED BY THE SHOP. TODAY CAR WAS DISABLED BY THE ANTI THEFT DEVICE AS I TURNED ONTO THE STATE HIGHWAY.. WHEN I PICKED MY HUSBAND UP FROM WORK AT NIGHT THE CAR DISPLAYED THE ANTI THEFT LIGHT AND BUZZED & QUIT IN THE MIDDLE OF A FOUR LANE ROAD. WE MANAGED TO GET ALMOST HOME, & TURNED INTO OUR DRIVEWAY WHEN THE LIGHT BEGAN FLASHING & THE BUZZER AGAIN WENT OFF. A CAR ALMOST HIT US, BUT THE GUY PULLED OVER & HELPED PUSH OUR CAR. THE LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALER OFFERED TO DO A DIAGNOSTIC FOR $98, BUT SAYS THERE ARE NO BULLETINS OR RECALLS IT APPEARS THAT A GREAT MANY INCIDENTS OF THIS SORT HAVE OCCURRED WITHOUT ANY RESPONSE BY THE NHTSA TO INITIATE A RECALL OR HAVE CHEVROLET FIX OR DISABLE THE DEVICE ON AFFECTED VEHICLES, EVEN THOUGH THERE IS A SPAN OF OVER SEVEN YEARS OR MORE DURING WHICH CHEVY CONTINUED TO MANUFACTURE VEHICLES WITH FULL KNOWLEDGE THAT THE PART WAS DEFECTIVE & CAUSING LIFE THREATENING EVENTS. VEHICLE HAS FAILED TO START AFTER DRIVING AND THEN PARKING. FIRST TIME HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO S REPAIR SHOP. THEY REPLACED FUEL PUMP AND INSTALLED A NEW FUEL FILTER. VEHICLE STILL DID NOT START. I RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM ON THE WEB. I FOUND SEVERAL COMPLAINTS . I FOUND THAT THE PROBLEM WAS THE VEHICLE ANTI- THEFT DEVICE. IT MALFUNCTIONS AND SHUTS THE FUEL INJECTORS DOWN. I FOUND A FIX ON THE WEB, YOU HAVE TO TURN THE KEY ON FOR 10 TO 15 MINUTES UNTIL THE VEHICLE THEFT LIGHT QUITS BLINKING TURN KEY TO THE OFF POSITION REMOVE THE KEY WAIT 1 TO 2 MINUTES AND THEN START VEHICLE IT WORKS. THIS IS A TEMPORARY FIX IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME TWO MORE TIMES. I CALLED THE LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP AND INQUIRED TO SEE IF THEY HAD HEARD OR HAVE SEEN THIS PROBLEM I WAS TOLD THAT THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN AROUND SINCE 2002 AND THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RE-CALL FOR THE PROBLEM. I CALLED CHEVROLET AND INFORMED THEM OF THE PROBLEM. THEIR RESPONSE WAS THAT THEY WERE NOT AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. ACCORDING TO THE DEALERSHIP GM HAS BEEN AWARE OF THE PROBLEM FOR YEARS. AND THEY HAVE NOT DONE A THING TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. ACCORDING IT WILL COST $500.00 TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE PARTS. THIS IN MY OPINION IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. I PURCHASED THIS 2005 CHEVY MALIBU USED. SHORTLY AFTER HAD THE RIGHT TURN SIGNAL BULB BLOW, THEN LEFT TURN AND BOTH HEADLIGHTS AT THE SAME TIME. WHILE REPLACING THE BULBS, I NOTICED THAT THE PLASTIC SURROUNDING THE TURN SIGNAL BULB HAD A LARGE HOLE IN IT FROM MELTING. THE OTHER ASSEMBLY HAD THE SAME HOLE BURNT IN THE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT BULB COVER. I HAVE REPLACED THE BULBS AT LEAST 2 MORE TIMES THIS YEAR. THE PROBLEMS WITH BULBS FAILING SEEMS TO HAPPEN IN WET WEATHER MORE FREQUENTLY THAN DRY WEATHER. SO I BELIEVE WATER IS GETTING INTO THE HEADLAMPS THROUGH THESE HOLES. THE EXTREME HEAT IS CAUSING THE HEADLIGHT TO BECOME EXTREMELY CLOUDY. REPLACING THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM BECAUSE OTHERS HAVE SAID IT SOON STARTS TO MELT AGAIN. I FEAR FOR BOTH MY FRIENDS LIFE AND HER SAFETY IN THIS ' 05 MALIBU. WE TOOK THE CAR IN AGAIN TODAY FOR THE 4TH REPAIR OPPORTUNITY FOR LONDOFF, AND "MR. W" REFUSED TO GUARANTEE TO MAKE GOOD ON THE 12 MONTH, 12000 REPAIR WARRANTY, AND REFUSED TO PROVIDE EITHER A LOANER OR A RENTAL AT GM'S COST SO MRS. X COULD MAKE IT TO WORK NEXT WEEK. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY WOULD NOT ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY REPAIRS BECAUSE THE VEHICLE EXCEEDED ITS MILEAGE. ALL REMEDIES AS OF MARCH 31, 2009 HAVE BEEN INSUFFICIENT IN CORRECTING THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 51,000.

I FIRST PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN MARCH 2005. AFTER A MONTH I STARTED HAVING DIFFICULTIES WITH STARTING IT. I WOULD TURN THE KEY IN THE IGNITION AND NOTHING WOULD HAPPEN THERE WOULD BE NO POWER, I WOULD TURN THE KEY AGAIN AND THERE WOULD BE POWER BUT THE INFO STATION WOULD RESET. I HAVE A FRIEND WHO DROVE IT SOMETIMES AND THE SAME THING WOULD OCCUR FOR HIM. WE TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP IT WAS PURCHASED FROM THREE DIFFERENT TIMES, THEY COULDN'T LOCATE THE PROBLEM BUT WOULD RESET THE COMPUTERS TO FACTORY, ONE TIME THEY INSTALLED AN UPDATE. IT WOULD STOP FOR A FEW MONTHS AND THEN START BACK UP. A YEAR AFTER PURCHASE I FOUND A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP(2006), THEY SAID IT WAS THE HEADLIGHT AND REPLACED IT, THEY ALSO UPDATED AND RESET THE COMPUTER. IT STOPPED FOR SEVERAL MONTHS AND THEN RESTARTED. THEN ONE DAY THE CD PLAYER WOULDN'T QUIT WORKING, IT SHOWED I NEEDED TO EJECT CD BUT THERE WAS NO CD TO EJECT, IT WOULD WHIR CONSTANTLY. THEN ONE MORNING LAST FALL(2007) THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO POWER, WE GOT IT JUMP STARTED AND TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY DISCOVERED SOMETHING WITH AN IGNITION CONNECTION BEING PLASTIC INSTEAD OF METAL. THEY REPLACED THE ENTIRE STEERING COLUMN UNDER A GOODWILL WARRANTY. NOW MY VEHICLE IS DOING THE SAME THING, YOU TURN THE KEY AND THERE IS NO POWER, THE SECOND TIME THERE IS POWER, BUT THE INFO STATION IS RESET. WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WE ARE OVER THE 12000 WARRANTY MILES ON THE NEW PART, SO THERE IS NO GOODWILL WARRANTY ON THIS ONE AND IT WILL COST AROUND $600 AND THAT IT PROBABLY ISN'T THE SAME PART ANYWAY. THIS IS THE SAME PROBLEM I HAVE HAD FROM DAY ONE OF OWNING THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE HAD IT IN AND OUT OF DEALERSHIPS WHO COULDN'T TRULY DISCOVER THE PROBLEM. I DON'T THINK THAT I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY TO FIX SOMETHING THAT I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET FIXED FROM DAY ONE. THE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM IN MY 2005 CHEVY MALIBU LS KEEPS COMING ON WHILE I'M DRIVING. WHEN THAT HAPPENS EVERYTHING ON THE DASH STOPS WORKING. MPH, FUEL ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON . THE FAILURE WAS VERY SUBTLE AT FIRST, BUT NOW THE POWER STEERING FAILS FOR DAYS AT A TIME. THE AIR CONDITIONING WOULD ACTIVATE ON AND OFF, BUT NOW IT DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING MODULE AND AIR CONDITIONING RESISTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE CONTROL PANEL IS WARM TO THE TOUCH AFTER DRIVING FOR SOME TIME. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY WITH THE DEALER AND THE REPAIR WILL COST OVER $900. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 70,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000. I HAVE A 2005 CHEVY MALIBU. THE LIGHT IN MY DASHBOARD STOPPED WORKING. I TOOK IT TO WESTERN AUTO, AUTO ZONE, AND BRIANS AUTO REPAIR THINKING IT WAS A FUSE THAT WENT OUT. I WAS TOLD THAT AT LEAST THREE OTHER PEOPLE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE, BUT WAS TOLD BY GM THERE WAS NOT A RECALL CONCERNING THIS ISSUE. I THEN WENT BACK TO AUTO ZONE AND ASKED THEM TO CONTACT ME IF SOMEONE ELSE HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. ACCORDING TO THE MECHANICS AT GM THE AUTO IS TO NEW TO HAVE THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM. OF COURSE I DIDN'T GET AN EXTENDED WARRANTY, SO THIS IS SOMETHING I HAVE TO PAY FOR OUT OF MY POCKET. DROVE CAR 2 BLOCKS TURNED OFF IGNITION. ATTEMPTED TO START ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. UPON OPENING DOOR NO LIGHTS, INSERT KEY IN IGNITION, TURN ,NOTHING ON CONSOLE NO IGNITION. HAD MECHANIC CHECK CAR STATED IT HAS TO BE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM. VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP FOR THIS PROBLEM BEFORE, IGNITION MODULE REPLACED AND REPROGRAMMED,(2 MONTHS PRIOR TO THE CURRENT SITUATION). ALSO HAVE HAD PROBLEMS RELATED TO TRANSMISSION, WOULD NOT START IN PARK. HAD TO PUT IN NEUTRAL AND PUSH UP TO PARK WHILE TURNING KEY. TAKEN TO PERSONAL MECHANIC CHANGED OUT LINKAGE IN TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE WAS SHUT OFF FOR APPROXIMATELY SIXTEEN HOURS TO RESET THE STEERING. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. I BOUGHT MY CAR ABOUT 9 MONTHS AGO. IT HAS ABOUT 36,750 MILES ON IT NOW AND MY THEFT SYSTEM LIGHT STARTED STAYING ON AFTER I WOULD START MY CAR. THEN A COUPLE OF DAYS LATER IT WOULD NOT LET ME START THE CAR AT ALL. THE THEFT SYSTEM LIGHT WOULD STEADILY BLINK. I HAD TO GET IT TOWED, THEY CHANGED OUT THE IGNITION IN IT AND REPROGRAMMED THE CAR AND RUNS FINE. THE GM PLACE I TOOK IT TO SAID THEY HAVE HAD A LOT OF PROBLEMS WITH THIS CERTAIN PART GOING OUT IN CARS. SOMETHINGWAS DEFINITELY WRONG WITH THE ELECTRICAL PART OF THIS VEHICLE. THE WARRANTY HAS NOW EXPIRED, SO I CAN GET NOTHING DONE ABOUT IT FROM GM OR CHEVROLET. *AK A SECOND COMPLAINT CONCERNS THE FAN FOR THE AIRCONDITIONER/HEATER. IT RATTLES CONSTANTLY. BEFORE THE WARRANTY EXPIRED I TOOK IT IN TWICE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND HAD REPAIRS DONE ON THE VEHICLE. ONCE THE MOTOR WAS REPLACED . . . WAS TOLD THEIR WAS SOMETHING LODGED IN THE FAN. A WEEK LATER THE SAME NOISE. NOTHING HAS BEEN RESOLVED.

IN ADDITION, THE EBCM COMPUTER TO THE BREAK SYSTEM HAS BEEN REPLACED. VEHICLE IS NOW IN FOR SERVICE FOR THE 6TH TIME. ALL 3 LIGHTS ARE ON AGAIN. I HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT WITH GENERAL MOTORS ON 6/13/05 WITH MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO FOLLOW UP ON MY FILE #1-34200114 BUT HAVE NOT HAD A RESPONSE OTHER THAN THEY ARE RESEARCHING MY CONCERNS.
