The brake light stays on the whole time.
1st when got car from local dealer cruise control worked next day still hasn't, interior lights not working with new bulb, brake light on, leaking oil from pan, front end drifting, than at station no power steering, didn't know wtf, wheels didn't turn, shut off he later was there ignition switch will keep turning. Rins battery dead. I'm scared power steering will go out while driving. It's a scary thought, think I will sell .It's the worse recall I've heard of can they be fixed. Consumer has all 7 recalls.
STEERING WHEEL STARTED SHAKING SLIGHTLY IN AUGUST. NOW IT SHAKES AND THEN POWER STEERING GOES OUT. THIS HAPPENS ON THE HIGHWAY, CITY STREETS ANYWHERE GOING ANY SPEED. AS SOON AS THE CAR STARTS THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKES, OF YOU TURN THE WHEEL IN EITHER DIRECTION IT WILL CLAM IT A LITTLE. BREAK LIGHTS RANDOMLY STOP WORKING. REPLACED BREAK LIGHTS 6 TIMES IN THE PAST 2 YEARS. HEADLIGHTS MELT THE PLASTIC HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN 2017. ALL OF THESE ISSUES HAVE BEEN RECALLED BUT NOT ON MY VIN.

THIS OCCURRED ON A 4 LANE HIGHWAY, AND VEHICLE BEGAN TO SKID. AT THAT POINT I RELEASED THE BRAKE, AND WAS FORCED TO PUMP THEM IN ORDER TO SLOW VEHICLE. PARK-BRAKE FEATURE ALSO MALFUNCTIONS RANDOMLY. THESE ARE ALL DUE TO VOLTAGE FLUCTUATIONS IN BODY CONTROL MODULE CONNECTION, REQUIRING A SPACER TO BE INSTALLED.

UPON INSPECTING THE BULB AND WIRING HARNESS, THE CONTACT BECAME AWARE THAT THE TURN LAMP HOUSING WAS MELTED, WHICH CAUSED THE TURN SIGNAL TO BECOME INOPERABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BULB AND HOUSING WERE REPLACED ON THREE OCCASIONS; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE ORANGE LENSE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE HAS MELTED AND IS DISCONNECTED FROM THE FIXTURE AND IS LYING INSIDE THE LIGHT INCLOSURE. THE LIGHTS AND BLINKERS QUIT WORKING AS I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE. I CANNOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE AT NIGHT BECAUSE I AM AFRAID TO HAVE THE LIGHTS ON FOR FEAR OF POSSIBLE FIRST HAZARD. THE CRUISE CONTROL STOPPED WORKING AROUND THE END 2016

THE MELTING PLASTIC HAS DRIPPED DOWN ONTO THE BULBS AND THE FUMES FROM THE MELTING PLASTIC HAVE FOGGED UP PART OF THE HEADLIGHT LENS. I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT THIS COULD CAUSE A FIRE. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE NEW. THE HEADLAMP ASSEMBLIES AND BULBS ARE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT, SO THIS IS CLEARLY A DESIGN DEFECT.

I CALLED THE DEALER TO FIX THE RECALL ON THE IGNITION, AND WAS NOTIFIED THAT THEY WOULD ONLY PUT A PIECE OF PLASTIC OVER KEY AND WOULD NOT FIX THE IGNITION TO TURN. I CAN HARDLY EVEN START MY CAR BECAUSE THE KEY WON'T TURN. THE KEY IS GOING TO BREAK OFF IN THE IGNITION. THE HORN AND RADIO DO NOT WORK EITHER. NOT HAVING A HORN FOR INCOMING TRAFFIC TOWARDS MY VEHICLE IS VERY DANGEROUS. THE TURN SIGNALS ONLY WORK AT RANDOM TIMES AND THAT IS VERY DANGEROUS WHEN SWITCHING LANES INTO TRAFFIC. ALSO, SOMETHING IN THE BACK OF THE CAR SQUEAKS FOR NO REASON WHEN GOING DOWN THE ROAD AT RANDOM AND WHEN GOING OVER SPEED BUMPS. THIS CAR ALSO DRAINS THE BATTERY WITH UNKNOWN ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. THE DRIVERS SIDE BACK PASSENGER WINDOW WONT GO DOWN EITHER. THIS CAR HAS WAY TOO MANY SAFETY ISSUES FOR ONLY 137,000 MILES ON IT.

FIRST DAY DRIVING THE CAR, TURN SIGNALS STOPPED BLINKING AND THEN STARTED BLINKING AGAIN. SUSPENSION IN THE BACK SQUEAKS BADLY WHEN DRIVING AT RANDOM AND GOING OVER SPEED BUMPS. DID NOT DRIVE THE CAR FOR MORE THAN ONE DAY AND NOW CAR WON'T START AT ALL (NO CRANK, NO START). THESE ARE MAJOR SAFETY ISSUES INCLUDING SERIOUS ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. THE BATTERY IS ONLY ONE YEAR OLD ON THE CAR WHEN PURCHASED, SO SHOULD BE GOOD. THESE ELECTRICAL ISSUES NEED TO BE RECALLED. THE SAME WITH THE REAR TAIL LIGHT GOES OUT OFTEN. THIS SUMMER THE TRACTION CONTROL WOULD DING AND THE BUTTON WOULD NOT TURN IT ON OR OFF. WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN QUESTION DOESN'T MAKE SENSE. THE 2ND THING HAPPENED TODAY. MY FIRST MALIBU DIDN'T HAVE A SUNROOF BUT THIS ONE DOES. I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN ALL THE SUDDEN I HEARD THIS LOUD EXPLOSION, LIKE A GUNSHOT OR A SEMI TRUCK TIRE BLOWING UP. I LOOK ALL AROUND ME AND WHEN I LOOKED UP, GLASS WAS FALLING ON MY HEAD. MY SUNROOF RANDOMLY EXPLODED. AND ACCORDING TO SEVERAL MECHANICAL ENGINEERS, IT'S PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE FOR AN OBJECT FLUNG BY ANOTHER VEHICLE TO SHATTER A SUNROOF. APPARENTLY MANUFACTURERS HAVE STARTED GETTING LAZY WITH SUNROOFS WHEN MAKING CARS, SO IF I WERE YOU, I WOULDN'T BUY A CAR WITH A SUNROOF.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2005 CHEVROLET MALIBU. WHILE TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE LOW BEAM HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY FAILED TO WORK. THE CONTACT APPLIED THE BRAKE PEDAL, WHICH DID NOT RESPOND AND EXTENDED TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SPUN AROUND AND CRASHED INTO A GUARDRAIL. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO CONFIRM IF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE CONTACT WAS UNCONSCIOUS AND WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED HEAD INJURIES, BROKEN WRISTS, A PUNCTURED AND COLLAPSED LUNG, AND ADDITIONAL INTERNAL INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL TREATMENT. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT HIS TEETH WERE FRACTURED FROM HIS MOUTH DUE TO THE IMPACT OF THE CRASH. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. WHEN YOU FIRST PRESS THE BRAKES THE LIGHTS SHUT OFF. PRESS THEM AGAIN AND THEY WORK FOR A FEW MINUTES. I SEARCHED THE INTERNET FOR HELP, AND NOTICED GM POSTED A SERVICE BULLETIN ON THIS ISSUE. GM ADVISED TO CLEAN, AND GREASE CONTACTS FOR BCM. I DID JUST THAT. THE CLEANING WAS ONLY A TEMPORARY FIX BECAUSE THE ISSUE RETURNED DAYS LATER. AROUND MAY OF 2014 I RECEIVED NOTICE THAT GM ISSUED SEVERAL RECALLS. THE CAR HAD BEEN BROKE DOWN UNTIL FEBRUARY OF 20015, AND IN APRIL IT WAS SENT TO MY LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALER TO HAVE THE RECALLS FIXED. SHORTLY AFTER FIXING THE RECALL ISSUES THE BRAKE LIGHT ISSUES RETURNED. I CONTACTED GM/ CHEVROLET AND THEY CONTACTED MY LOCAL DEALER WHO AGREED TO LOOK AT THE CAR AGAIN FOR FREE. AFTER THEY INSPECTED IT I WAS TOLD THE BRAKE SWITCH NEEDED REPLACED. ON MAY 28, 2015 MY LOCAL CHEVY DEALER REPLACED THE SWITCH. ON MAY 30, 2015 THE BRAKE LIGHT ISSUE RETURNED. I CONTACTED THE COMPANY GENERAL MOTORS BEFORE ABOUT THE DISCOLORATION OF MY HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY AND THEY SAID THEY HAD NOT RECEIVED ANY PRIOR COMPLAINTS. I WORK FOR A PARTS STORE AND I HAD NOTICED ALMOST EVERY (80%) 2005 THAT CAME IN FOR LIGHT BULB REPLACEMENT HAS THIS PROBLEM. MY DAUGHTER HAS A MALIBU MAX 2005. SHE HAD TO REPLACE HER ASSEMBLIES WHICH HAD BURNED WORSE, AFTER SHE WENT TO LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALER AND THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE THEM. SHE PURCHASED AFTER MARKET LIGHTS AT ABOUT $65 EACH VERSUS THEIR $165 PRICE NOT COUNTING LABOR THEY WOULD OF CHARGED. IT'S VIN #[XXX]. GM HAS A PROBLEM AND WILL NOT DO ANYTHING TO FIX IT. WHILE REPLACING THE BULBS, I NOTICED THAT THE PLASTIC SURROUNDING THE TURN SIGNAL BULB HAD A LARGE HOLE IN IT FROM MELTING. THE OTHER ASSEMBLY HAD THE SAME HOLE BURNT IN THE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT BULB COVER. I HAVE REPLACED THE BULBS AT LEAST 2 MORE TIMES THIS YEAR. THE PROBLEMS WITH BULBS FAILING SEEMS TO HAPPEN IN WET WEATHER MORE FREQUENTLY THAN DRY WEATHER. SO I BELIEVE WATER IS GETTING INTO THE HEADLAMPS THROUGH THESE HOLES. THE EXTREME HEAT IS CAUSING THE HEADLIGHT TO BECOME EXTREMELY CLOUDY. REPLACING THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM BECAUSE OTHERS HAVE SAID IT SOON STARTS TO MELT AGAIN. MY PROBLEM IS WITH MY 2005 CHEVORLET MALIBU FRONT PARKING LIGHTS. THE PARKING LIGHTS BULB SOCKET HAS MELTED THROUGH THE SOCKET AND MELTED THE PLASTIC ORANGE RELFECTOR AROUND THE BULB. I THEN CALLED THE GM HELP LINE WHERE THEY ASKED A BUNCH OF QUESTIONS ABOUT WHERE I HAD IT REPAIRED. THEY THEN TOLD THEY WERE NOT GOING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I DECIDED AFTER THAT ( AT ABOUT 120,000) I WOULD REPLACE THE WHOLE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY, HOPING THIS WOULD SOLVE THE PROBLEM. ONE DAY AFTER INSTALLING THE NEW ASSEMBLY, THE SAME MELTING AND CHARRING BEGAN TO OCCUR. AT THIS POINT, I AM UNSURE AS TO WHAT TO DO NEXT. IT IS OBVIOUSLY MORE THAN JUST A PROBLEM WITH THE HEADLIGHT SINCE IT HAPPENED AFTER REPLACING THE WHOLE ASSEMBLY. IT ALSO SEEMS TO BE MORE THAN JUST AN ISOLATED INCIDENT WITH MY VEHICLE SINCE IT TOOK NO TIME TO FIND MANY MALIBUS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. BEFORE THE WARRANTY EXPIRED I TOOK IT IN TWICE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND HAD REPAIRS DONE ON THE VEHICLE. ONCE THE MOTOR WAS REPLACED . . . WAS TOLD THEIR WAS SOMETHING LODGED IN THE FAN. A WEEK LATER THE SAME NOISE. NOTHING HAS BEEN RESOLVED.
I OWN A 2005 CHEVROLET MALIBU THAT JUST WENT OUT OF WARRANTY WHEN I HAPPENED TO BE FOLLOWING MY HUSBAND WHO WAS DRIVING ANOTHER VEHICLE. FOR 150 MILES MY HUSBAND COMPLAINED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS VIBRATED CONSTANTLY CAUSING A DISTRACTION FOR ANYONE DRIVING IN FRONT OF ME. UNTIL THAT TIME I HAD NO WAY OF KNOWING THAT THE HEADLIGHTS HAD A PROBLEM. HE CHECKED THEM WHEN WE GOT HOME AND FOUND THAT THERE WAS NO WAY TO TIGHTEN THEM. I HAVE CHECKED FOR RECALLS ON THIS PROBLEM AND FOUND NONE. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT COULD BE DONE TO RECTIFY THIS PROBLEM WITHOUT COST TO ME SINCE I WAS SURE THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN THERE SINCE I GOT THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THERE WAS NO WAY TO FIX IT.AK
PULLS TO THE LEFT, BROKEN STRUTS, BROKEN BRAKE CALIPERS, REAR TURN SIGNAL BROKE! ANYTIME I MESS WITH TIRES OR BRAKES THE CAR PULLS MORE AND MORE TO THE LEFT, HAVEN'T HAD STEERING CHECKED BUT ITS DRIVING ME NUTS. I THOUGHT IT WAS FROM THE FRONT RIGHT STRUT BEING CRACKED AND BROKEN BUT THE DEALERSHIP SAYS IT SHOULDN'T EFFECT THE PULL TO THE LEFT. GOT NEW TIRES LAST WEEK AND NEW BRAKES, STILL PULLS. TAIL LIGHT QUIT WORKING, CHANGED BULBS THEN QUIT AGAIN. CAR IS DRIVING ME NUTS, WORRIED ABOUT DRIVING IT ACROSS COUNTRY THIS SUMMER! RECALL IT SOON - PLEASE!!! *JB

SINCE PURCHASE OF 05 MALIBU I HAVE HAD BREAKING VIBRATION AND VIBRATION IN TURNS TO THE RIGHT. HAVE HAD 2 SETS OF PADS AND ROTORS TURNED ONCE. I AM ON THE THIRD SET OF TIRES WITH ROTATIONS EVERY 6000 MILES BUT STILL GET UNEVEN WEAR. 43,000+ MILES AND THE DEALER SAYS THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BREAKING OR WHEELS. DRIVERS SIDE DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT AND TURN SIGNAL HAS BLOWN 3 TIMES. *NM
VEHICLE PURCHASED DEC 31, 2004 AND IT IS NOW JULY AND GUESS WHAT? THE 2005 MALIBU CRUISE CONTROL STOPPED WORKING PLUS 1 DAYTIME DRIVING LIGHT!!! TOO EARLY FOR THE CRUISE CONTROL TO QUIT WORKING, NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM IN ANY VEHICLE I HAVE HAD AND EVERYONE SAID SAME THING! THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL OF ALL MALIBU 2005'S WITH CRUISE CONTROL PROBLEMS BECAUSE OF SPEED SENSOR OR SOME ELECTRICIAL PROBLEM IN THE CAR THAT GM SHOULD BE THE RESPONSIBLITY OF PAYING FOR NOT CUSTOMERS BECAUSE EARLIER I HAD TO TAKE CAR IN FOR PROBLEMS WITH THE DOORS NOT UNLOCKING AND UNLOCKING BECAUSE OF THE REMOTE NOT WORKING AND EVEN A NEW BATTERY DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM.
