While driving at night with the lights on, the rear taillights are bright all the time. when you press the brake pedal, the rear taillights go dim or completely dark. brake lights are working opposite what they should be doing. Fixed once with local mechanic. Fixed second time at dealership with a 'technical service bulletin' and now it is having the same problem for third time.

The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could not assist due to the mileage on the vehicle. Additionally, the manufacturer informed the contact that the recall repair of NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V252000 (Electrical System, Exterior Lighting, Vehicle speed Control, Electronic Stability Control) was previously performed on the vehicle and that the repair was one-time free of charge. I have a 2009 chevy malibu that is under the NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V252000. The recall fix on this vehicle was performed but did not fix the issue and when contacting the local gm dealerships (multiple ones) I was told that the recall was closed on this vehicle and they refused to help at all. this is a very deadly issue the brake lights staying on until you press the brake pedal then they go out when stopped can cause a fatal accident these vehicles need to be properly fixed or repurchased by GM. this is a recurring issue with these vehicles.

Having problems with my rear stop lights, traction control/ indicator light, ECS/ indicator light. When driving center brake light remains on but when I need to apply brakes they go off, lights on dashboard have been on since I purchased the vehicle which were never addressed the only light addressed was the check engine light. All other issues were voided being that they let me drive down to N.C. knowing it would void my warranty with them after putting 1 thousand miles on the vehicle without notication to me.

The passenger front light stops working no matter his w many times I fix it. Replaced bulb 3 times within two weeks. Works for 1-2 days then stops. Everyone I know who has a Malibu is having the same problem. The right wheel rubs and makes noise. No matter how many times I have it fixed, no matter how many times I replace the noise continues. Mechanic cannot figure out why.

I HAVE HAD RECURRING AND CONSTANT PROBLEMS WITH THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS AND ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS IN THIS CAR. I'VE ALREADY HAD THE PASSENGERS SIDE HEADLIGHT AND DRIVERS SIDE HEADLIGHT "FIXED" BETWEEN 3 AND 4 TIMES. THE DRIVERS SIDE LOW BEAM IS OUT AGAIN AS OF 2 DAYS AGO. AS FAR AS THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS, MY TRUNK POP BUTTON DOESN'T WORK, THE RR PASSENGERS SIDE DOOR DOESN'T LOCK, AND I SOMETIMES HAVE TROUBLE GETTING ANY OF THE BUTTONS ON MY DASH TO WORK TO CHANGE OR CONTROL ANYTHING IN THE CAR. I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE BUTTONS ON MY STEERING WHEEL. MY CAR HAS JUST OVER 70,000 MILES ON IT. THE HEADLIGHT BEING OUT IS ALWAYS AN ISSUE WHEN I'M DRIVING. I GOT PULLED OVER TWICE THE OTHER NIGHT BECAUSE THE HEADLIGHT WAS OUT. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ISSUED FOR THIS PROBLEM - I'VE DONE MY RESEARCH AND I KNOW THAT LOTS OF PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR. NOT TO MENTION THE LABOR INVOLVED TO EVEN ACCESS THE HEADLIGHT. IT'S MADDENING TO HAVE WASTED A LOT OF MONEY TO NOT HAVE THIS ISSUE FIXED. I'VE HAD THE BULB REPLACED MULTIPLE TIMES, NEW PIGTAILS INSTALLED AND EVEN REMOVED THE DAY TIME RUNNING LIGHTS CONNECTION FROM THE FUSE BOX BECAUSE I READ THAT HAVING THAT CONNECTED MIGHT CONTRIBUTE TO THE HEADLIGHT ISSUE. EVEN THAT DIDN'T WORK. CHEVY NEEDS TO ISSUE A RECALL. 2 WORKING HEADLIGHTS IS A BASIC NEED TO DRIVE A CAR. TO HAVE THIS CONSTANT ISSUE IS RIDICULOUS.

FOR YEARS NOW I HAVE HAD A FEW ISSUES. ONE OF WHICH IS THE LOCKS WITH IN THE VEHICLE. AT ONE POINT ONE LOCK WOULDNT BE RECOGNIZED BY THE FOB OR INTERNAL LOCKING MECHANISM AND THEN EVENTUALLY ALL LOCKS WOULD BE UNRESPONSIVE. I NOW HAVE TO MANUALLY LOCK AND UNLOCK ALL DOORS. SECOND ISSUE IS THE 3RD BRAKE LIGHT. IT APPEARS THAT IT WANTS TO WORK WHEN IT FEELS LIKE IT. I TYPICALLY SEE IT WORKING IN EARLY MORNINGS WHEN ITS COLD, AND THEN EVENTUALLY IT DIMS OUT AND COMPLETELY STOPS WORKING. I HAVE NOTICED THIS IN OTHER MALIBU'S THAT I SEE DRIVING AND I HAVE READ ON MANY OTHER FORUMS THAT BOTH OF THESE ISSUES EXIST. I REALLY WISH THE MANUFACTURER WOULD ISSUE A RECALL FOR BOTH OF THESE. THIRD, IM ROUGHLY 200LBS SOAKING WET AND FOR WHATEVER REASON THE SEAT BRACKET THAT IS USED TO LIFT AND TILT HAS BROKE. MY DRIVER SEAT NOW LEANS TO ONE SIDE AND I CAN NO LONGER LIFT IT UP BECAUSE OF THIS.

POWERSTEERING KEEPS GOING IN AND OUT. HEADLIGHTS GO IN AND OUT. IVE GOTTEN THOSE REPLACED THREE TIMES! I ALSO HAD SOME OF THE WIRING REPLACED FOR MY LIGHTS. I FORGOT WHAT THOSE ARE CALLED AND MY LIGHTS STILL WENT OUT. LOCK BUTTONS NOT WORKING. RADIO WASNT WORKING UNTIL I REPLACED A FUSE. SPEAKERS GO IN AND OUT. CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT WORK. MY BATTERY WENT DEAD ,SO I REPLACED THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR AND MY CAR STILL DIDNT WORK.

I HAVE REPEATEDLY REPLACED THE PASSENGER SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT BULB. ONCE I DID IT 3 TIMES IN TWO MONTHS. WHEN THEY WENT OUT THEY WOULD GO OUT SOMETIMES AND THEN COME BACK ON THE NEXT DAY AND GO OUT AGAIN. THE FOURTH TIME I TOOK OFF THE ENTIRE BUMPER TO CHANGE THE LIGHT (BECAUSE THE RIDICULOUS DESIGN OF THE CAR REQUIRES YOU TO DO THIS) THE LIGHT CAME ON AS I WAS REMOVING THE LAMP FROM ITS PLACE IN TO BUMPER I LEFT IT IN AND PUT THE LIGHT BACK IN (AND THE BUMPER BACK ON) IT WORKED FOR ONE DAY AND WENT OUT AGAIN. I DECIDED TO REGISTER THIS COMPLAINT AFTER FINDING A WEBSITE WHERE I WENT TO TRY TO FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS GOING ON. AT THAT WEBSITE, I FOUND MANY PEOPLE DESCRIBING THE SAME PROBLEM THAT I WAS HAVING, ALL BUT ONE WERE EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. I REALIZE IT IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE WITH ONLY ONE LAMP, BUT THE FREQUENCY OF THE PROBLEM MAKES IT TIME AN COST PROHIBITIVE TO CONTINUALLY REPLACE THE BULB, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT GOES OUT SOON AFTER IT IS REPLACED. IT IS VERY FRUSTRATING, I FELT I HAD TO DO THIS AFTER TRYING TO FIX IT AGAIN LAST WEEK. THE PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED PERIODICALLY OVER THE LAST TWO YEARS WITH THE MOST RECENT OCCURANCE ON JULY 8, 2020.

ALSO WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS DELIBERATELY PRESSED TO INDICATE THE VEHICLE IS SLOWING, THE LIGHTS GO OUT ENTIRELY, SIGNALLING TO OTHER DRIVERS THAT I AM NOT SLOWING DOWN WHEN IN FACT I AM! THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE! I PARKED MY VEHICLE TODAY JANUARY 1, 2020 TO TEST THE FUNCTIONALITY OF MY BRAKE LIGHTS AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS ILLUMINATED WHILE I WAS OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE, INDICATING I WAS PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. ONCE THE PEDAL WAS COMPRESSED, THE REAR LIGHTS WENT OUT ENTIRELY INDICATING THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS NOT COMPRESSED. ALSO THE CRUISE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE HAS NEVER WORKED PROPERLY SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE. IT WILL NOT INITIATE OR MAINTAIN SET SPEED CAUSING FLUCTUATIONS IN TRAVEL SPEED. SO I REFUSE TO USE THE FEATURE AS THIS TOO IS A REAL SAFETY CONCERN.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT REPLACEMENT HEADLIGHTS WERE NEEDED AN AVERAGE OF ONCE OR TWICE A YEAR. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE WIRING HARNESS THAT WAS CONNECTED TO THE HEADLIGHTS WAS FAULTY, WOULD OVERHEAT, AND BURN OUT, CAUSING THE HEADLIGHTS TO FAIL. THE WIRING HARNESS HAD NOT BEEN REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL REGARDING THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 185,200.

THE TIME PRIOR THE CONNECTOR ON THE BULB WAS MELTED!! I HAVE BEEN READING ALL OVER THE INTERNET NUMEROUS PEOPLE WHO CONTINUE TO HAVE THIS ISSUE. REPLACING THESE ITEMS OVER AND OVER AGAIN IS COSTLY. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE BULBS MULTIPLE TIMES, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V252000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, EXTERIOR LIGHTING, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 200,000.

I PURCHASED THE CAR MARCH 14, 2019 FROM A FAMILY MEMBER. THE FRONT PASSENGER LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT WAS NOT WORKING. THE PRIOR OWNER STATED THEY HAD TAKEN THE CAR IN TO HAVE THE LIGHT REPAIRED AT LEAST 6 TIMES IN SINCE 2009. APRIL 2, 2019 I TOOK THE CAR TO CLINT NEWELL CHEVROLET TO HAVE THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT FIXED. THE PROBLEM WAS THE WIRE THAT PLUGS INTO THE LIGHT WAS MELTED. THE REPAIR COST WAS $172.33. ON APRIL 4, 2019 THE REAR PASSENGER TURN SIGNAL QUIT WORKING. I REPLACED THE BULB. APRIL 9, 2019 THE PASSENGER TAIL LIGHT QUIT WORKING. APRIL 11, 2019 I REPLACED THE BULB. AS SOON AS THAT WAS DONE THE FRONT PASSENGER LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT QUIT WORKING AGAIN. I CHECKED THE LOW BEAM FUSE AND IT WAS FINE. I CANNOT AFFORD 172.00 AGAIN 9 DAYS LATER FOR THIS REPAIR. I HAVE ALSO FOUND ONLINE IN CHEVY FORUMS, THIS SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM FOR MANY PEOPLE THAT OWN CHEVROLET MALIBUS.

WHILE DRIVING MY ESC - ENHANCES STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT, ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS CAME ON. THE ELECTRIC STABILITY CONTROL AND TRACTION CONTROL WILL RANDOM ENGAGE/DISENGAGE OR DISPLAY A SERVICE MESSAGE ON THE CLUSTER SCREEN. THE THIRD BREAK LIGHT ILLUMINATES AT RANDOM, NOT ALWAYS THE BREAK IS APPLIED. THE RADIO WILL DISPLAY RANDOM CHARACTERS WHILE ON OR GO COMPLETELY BLANK.

ON MY WAY HOME FROM THE GROCERY STORE ON 3/6/2018 I ALMOST WRECKED BECAUSE THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT ON THE VEHICLE. I ATTEMPTED TO TURN AND ALMOST RAN INTO THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. THE SUSPENSION DOESN'T WORK EITHER. AS OF TODAY I CANNOT DRIVE AT NIGHT BECAUSE I DO NOT HAVE ANY HEAD LIGHTS (THAT'S BEEN FOR 3 MONTHS) I CANNOT DRIVE THE CAR NOW BECAUSE I DO NOT HAVE POWER STEERING TO DRIVE THE CAR. HOW CAN OVER A MILLION CHEVY CARS BE RECALLED FOR THE SAME ISSUE AND I'M BEING TOLD MINE IS NOT'MAKE NO SENSE TO ME. SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE FOR 2009 CHEVROLET MALIBU. HEADLIGHTS LOW BEAM BOTH RIGHT AND LEFT KEEP GOING OUT SOON AFTER REPLACEMENT OF THE PIGTAIL CONNECTOR THAT CONNECTS THE HEADLAMPS TO THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. BURNS OUT WITHIN ONE OR TWO WEEKS OF BEING REPLACED. THE LOCAL REPAIR SHOP AND CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENTS SAY IT CANNOT BE REPAIRED TO STOP THE PIGTAIL FROM BURNING OUT. WE CALLED CHEVROLET AND THEY WILL NOT HELP. IN RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE IN CHEVROLET MALIBU 2009 CHATROOMS THIS IS A VERY COMMON SAFETY PROBLEM. IF THE LIGHTS BURN OUT AT NIGHT WE ARE IN TROUBLE. TO REPLACE THE PIGTAIL CONNECTOR THE FRONT BUMPER HAS TO BE REMOVED, COSTING OVER $200 PER INCIDENT. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE THAT CANNOT BE RESOLVED AT CHEVROLET SERVICE DEPARTMENTS. A FEW DAYS LATER ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. NOW, I NEEDED SMOG DONE, HAD TO REPLACE CATALIC CONVERTER (1400.00) AND MECHANIC HAS A PROBLEM WITH CAR COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM. ITS COSTING ME TOO MUCH. THERE IS RECALL ON SOMETHING HAVING TO DO WITH BRAKES.. COULD THIS COMMUNICATIONS PROBLEM BE RELATED? I DID HAVE BRAKE PADS REPLACED LAST YEAR. THE RECALL HAS TO WITH BCM AND BAS (MY DASHBOARD LIGHTS OCCASSIONALLY FLUCTUATE AND TAKE A WHILE FOR LIGHTS TO COME ON BRIGHT WITH DASHBOARD BUTTON ALL WAY TO BRIGHT.). FIRST ISSUE HAPPENED WITH THE DRIVER LOW BEAM NOT WORKING THEN WORK AGAIN A FEW DAYS LATER. THE PROBLEM KEEPS GOING ON FROM PASSENGER AND DRIVER LOW BEAMS. I'VE NOTICED THE CONNECTORS WERE MELTED AND CHANGED THEM AND THEY WOULD BOTH WORK FOR A FEW WEEKS THEN ONE WOULD GO OUT AGAIN. SECOND ISSUE IS THE PASSENGER AIRBAG DOESN'T TURN ON WHEN PASSENGERS ARE IN THE VEHICLE. IT WORKS SOMETIMES BUT NOT EVERYTIME. THIRD ISSUE IS THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LOCKS. THE DOOR LOCKS WORK SOMETIMES AND AGAIN NOT EVERYTIME LIKE THEY SHOULD. THERE'S A LOT OF PEOPLE REPORTING THESE SAME ISSUES BUT NOTHING GETS DONE UNLESS IT'S OUT OF OUR POCKETS.

AFTER THE COMPLETION OF REPAIRS FOR RECALL 13036 IN THE FALL OF 2014 I WAS INFORMED THAT MY HIGH MOUNT BREAK LIGHT WAS NO LONGER FUNCTION. AFTER DOING A GREAT DEAL OF RESEARCH I HAVE LEARNED THAT A GREAT NUMBER OF CONSUMERS ARE FACING THE SAME CHALLENGE. MY LIGHT WORKED WITHOUT ISSUES UNTIL THE RECALL WORK WAS DONE ON MY CAR. THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT IT WAS NOT WARRANTY COVERED NOR WERE THEY LIABLE FOR THE MALFUNCTION. IT SEEMS THERE IS A DIRECT CONNECTION BETWEEN THE RECALL REPAIRS AND THESE LIGHTS NO LONGER FUNCTIONING.

SECOND ISSUE STARTED CLOSE TO THE SAME TIME AS THE AIRBAG. WHEN USING THE KEYLESS ENTRY OR THE ELECTRIC LOCK BUTTONS INSIDE THE CAR , IT FAILS TO LOCK OR UNLOCK THE PASSENGER SIDE DOORS. AFTER 30 MINUTES OR SO IT WILL THEN LOCK THE DOORS. THE LATEST ISSUE STARTED ON THE 19TH OF NOVEMBER 2014 WITH THE DRIVER SIDE LOWBEAM NOT WORKING AS LIKE IT'S BLOWN. THE CAR HAS BEEN SITTING FOR TWO DAYS SINCE AND NOW THE LOWBEAM IS WORKING BUT, IT'S DIM COMPARED TO THE PASSENGER LOWBEAM. I BELIEVE THERE'S A SHORT IN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FROM MANUFACTURER. THERE ARE MANY FORUMS ONLINE ABOUT THESE ISSUES ONLINE FROM OTHER OWNERS. THIS CAR HAS NOT HAD ANY AFTERMARKET INSTALLATIONS OF ITS ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS AND THE BATTERY IS NEW. WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS DEPRESSED, THE BRAKE LIGHTS TURN OFF. THE BRAKES STILL STOP THE CAR, BUT THE LIGHTS AND CRUISE CONTROL APPEAR TO BE NOT CALIBRATED TO THE BRAKE SENSOR. ALSO, SOMETIMES 3 WARNINGS APPEAR IN THE DASH DISPLAY: ESC OFF, SERVICE ESC, AND SERVICE TRACTION, THOUGH IT IS NOT NECESSARY FOR THE PROBLEM TO OCCUR. THIS HAPPENS VERY INTERMITTENTLY, BUT ONCE IT STARTS, IT USUALLY DOESN'T GO AWAY. I'VE HAD THE PROBLEM REPAIRED ABOUT 6 TIMES, BUT IT KEEPS COMING BACK. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET MALIBU. WHILE PARKED, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE TURN SIGNALS AND THE HAZARD LIGHTS WOULD NOT FUNCTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTICS. THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE HAZARD SWITCH UNIT AND THE RELAY HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED AFTER THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE MECHANIC WHERE THE TURN SIGNAL UNIT AND IGNITION WERE REPLACED BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A MANUFACTURER'S RECALL FOR THE EXTERIOR LIGHTING BUT HER VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.

SINCE THE 1ST OF MARCH THE HEADLIGHTS HAVE BEEN BURNING OUT. I HAVE BEEN REPLACING THE HEADLIGHTS WITH REGULAR OEM REPLACEMENTS. I HAVE NOTICED THAT THE PLUGS ARE MELTING ON THE HEADLIGHTS. THIS IS A GREAT SAFETY CONCERN IN MY OPINION. I CAN UNDERSTAND NORMAL LIFE OF THE BULB, BUT TO HAVE 4 SETS OF LIGHTS GO OUT IN JUST OVER A MONTH IS AN ISSUE. I THINK THIS MAY BE HAPPENING DUE TO NO VENTILATION BEHIND THE HEADLIGHT CAUSING EXCESSIVE HEAT THEREFORE CAUSING A POSSIBLE FIRE HAZARD AND POSSIBLE ACCIDENT DURING NIGHT DRIVING. THE BRAKE LIGHTS ON MY DAUGHTER'S 2009 CHEVROLET MALIBU COME ON WHILE SHE IS DRIVING & HER CRUISE CONTROL STOPS WORKING. SHE TOOK HER CAR INTO THE DEALER & 2 OTHER PEOPLE WERE THERE WITH THE SAME COMPLAINT. THE SERVICE DEPT. SAID IT WAS FIXED BUT THE SAME DAY AS SHE PICKED IT UP, IT HAPPENED AGAIN. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY @ 70 MPH WITH THE CRUISE ON, THE BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON AND STAY ON UNTIL SHE PRESSES THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE BRAKE LIGHTS GO OUT WHILE SHE IS APPLYING THE BRAKES & COME BACK ON WHEN SHE RELEASES THE BRAKE PEDAL. ALSO, SHE ALSO CAN NO LONGER SET HER CRUISE CONTROL. AFTER THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN PARKED FOR A FEW HOURS, THE CRUISE & BRAKE LIGHTS WORK PROPERLY. ANYONE FOLLOWING HER, ESPECIALLY @ NIGHT, MIGHT ASSUME THAT SHE IS STOPPING WHILE DRIVING & DRIVING WHILST STOPPING. I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS COULD CAUSE A FIRE IF THE PROBLEM IS ELECTRICAL IN NATURE, (BOTH TAILLIGHT BULBS HAVE RECENTLY BURNT OUT OR SHORTED OUT & BEEN REPLACED). I NOTICED LATELY ON GM VEHICLES, THAT THE BACK UP LAMPS ARE COMING ON ALTHOUGH NOBODY IS IN THE VEHICLE. RECENTLY I WAS TRYING TO BACK OUT OF A PARKING SPOT. IT WAS DARK AND COULD NOT SEE, THAT NOBODY WAS IN THE VEHICLE. AFTER A COUPLE OF MINUTES I REALIZED, THAT THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE WAS JUST WALKING UP TO THE VEHICLE. WHILE THE WHOLE TIME I COULD HAVE BACKED OUT SAFELY. I WAS VERY IRRITATED ABOUT THIS AND THINK THIS WILL CAUSE PEOPLE TO START IGNORING THE BACK UP LIGHTS ON VEHICLES. ALTHOUGH THERE HAS NOT BEEN AN ACCIDENT YET, DUE TO THE DESIGN OF THE CARS HEADLIGHTS, AND TAIL LIGHTS, (AND THE REMOVAL OF THE SIDE REPEATER LAMP FOR TURN SIGNAL INDICATION ON THE 2009 MODEL YEAR MALIBU), THERE IS NO VISIBLE TURN INDICATOR FOR OTHER DRIVERS TO SEE INDICATION OF A SIGNAL FROM THE CAR UNLESS OTHER DRIVERS ARE DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF, OR BEHIND THE CAR. FOR EXAMPLE, IF A DRIVER IS SITTING AT A 4 WAY STOP, OR LIKEWISE, BECAUSE THE TURN SIGNAL DOES NOT WRAP AROUND THE FRONT OR BACK OF THE CAR, DRIVERS TO THE LEFT, AND RIGHT OF THE CAR, CANNOT SEE THE TURN SIGNAL, WHICH POSES A SAFETY HAZARD. ON THE 2008 MALIBU, THERE WAS A SIDE MARKER REPEATER LAMP ON THE FRONT QUARTER PANEL, AND IT WAS REMOVED FROM THE 2009 MY. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A LARGE SAFETY CONCERN, AND THEY SHOULD BE PUT BACK ONTO THE CARS, OR A REDESIGN OF THE HEADLAMP ASSY. *TR
