HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE EASSIST SYSTEM. THE AUTO STOP FUNCTION CAUSE THE CAR TO STALL AND STOP AND SHAKE SOMETIMES WHILE DRIVING AND STOP AT THE LIGHT OR STOP SIGN I HAVE TO DRIVE IN MANUEL MODE TO DRIVE THE CAR. IF THE CAR NOT IN PART OF IT'S NEUTRAL THE CAR HAS ROLLED BACKWARDS OFF THE PARKING PAD. THAT HAPPENED JUST ONE TIME TO ME. AFTER READING ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE REPORTING THIS, I KEEP THE SAFETY BREAK ON. ALSO I READ ABOUT THE RECALL ON THE E ASSIST . I'M CURRENTLY HAVING THE SAME ISSUES BUT MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT INCLUDED. CAR WILL STALL OUT AND WON'T GO AT TIME WITHOUT PUMPING THE GAS. WE HAVE REPLACED VACUUM PUMP AND BOTH O2 SENSORS. POWER STEERING LOCKS UP WHEN HITTING A SMALL BUMP, WON'T START UNLESS I MOVED THE DRIVERS SEAT UP AND BACK, IF I USE THE BLINKERS MY RADIO GOES OFF IF I USE MY HIGH BEAMS THE RADIO FREEZES. IT WILL DO WEEKS WITH NO ISSUES THEN ONE DAY IT WILL START ACTING UP AND DOES IT FOR DAYS OR WEEKS. IS BEEN A FEW TIMES WHEN I'M IN A LIGHT AND WHEN I'M ABOUT TO TAKE OFF THE CAR LIKE HOLDS UP AND IT DOESN'T WANTS TO MOVE FORWARD UNLESS I HIT THE GAS HARDER OR JUST PARK IT AND SHUT IT OFF AND IS BEEN SMOKING TROUGH THE A.C. IN LESS THEN 6 MONTHS I HAD TO REPAIR SERTAIN STUFF 3 TIMES. FIRST I TOOK IT TO REPLACE THE FAN ASSEMBLY HYBRID BATTERY AND A NEW HYBRID BATTERY THE OIL FILTER AND THE OIL GASKET CAUSE IT WAS LEAKING OIL AND UPDATE THE SOFTWARE. I TOOK IT OUT IN 3 WEEKS IT WAS BACK IN THE SHOP CAUSE I HAD TO REPLACE THE TIMING CHAINS AND HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP AND PREFORM A SYSTEM SCAN WICH FOUND THAT THERE IS A MECHANICAL ISSUE WITH THE ENGINE AND ALSO THE HIGH FUEL PRESSURE WAS MAKING SLOT OF NOISE. AND PUT A NEW HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP A HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PIPE. I SPENCER A FEW DOLLARS ON THAT. I TOOK IT OUT IT WAS OK TILL IT STARTED GROWING SMOKE TROUGH THE A.C AGAIN IT KEEPED HOLDING BACK ON ME IN THE LIGHTS AND IT SHUTED OFF ON ME TWICE IN WERE I HAD TO HIT PARKING AND SHUT OFF AND BACK ON SO IT CAN WORK. AND FINALLY WOKE I'M DRIVING ON SOUTH 95 IN 60MPH THE CAR STARTED SMOKING TROUGH THE A.C THEN IT MADE THIS LOUD NOISE IN THE MOTOR SO WHEN I PULLED OVER ON THE HIGHWAY I SEE THAT ALL MY MOTOR OIL HAD SPILLED IN THE FLOOR AND THE MOTOR STARTED TO SMOKE LIKE CRAZY AND THE CAR INDICATED ME TO SHUT OFF MOTOR. I HAD TO TOW MY CAR HOME AND PARK IT TO GET IT FIX AGAIN. BUT IS CRAZY CAUSE IN LESS THEN 6 MONTHS ALL THIS HAPPENED AND IS STILL PARKED TO B FIXED.

MY CHEVY MALIBU STALLED OUT ON 3 OCCASIONS NOW. THIS OCCURS AFTER BEING AT A STOP AND APPLYING PRESSURE ON THE GAS TO PLACE THE CAR BACK IN MOTION. I WAS NEARLY STRUCK BY AN ONCOMING VEHICLE ON 2 OCCASIONS WHEN THE CAR STALLED OUT. WOULD HAVE HAD AMPLE TIME AT A GREEN LIGHT HAD THE VEHICLE NOT STALLED. POWER STEERING IS LOST WHEN THIS OCCURS. I HAVE TO POWER OFF AND REPOWER THE VEHICLE TO GET STARTED AGAIN, RESULTING IN SMOKE COMING OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD AND A SMELL OF BURNT RUBBER.

DROVE TO APPOINTMENT WITH NO ISSUES OR INDICATIONS OF ANYTHING WRONG. FINISHED APPOINTMENT AND STARTED VEHICLE, THE CHECK STABILITRAK WARNING CAME ON. PULLED INTO LANE & VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY REDUCED POWER, UNABLE TO ACCELERATE RAPIDLY AND ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. WARNING LIGHT FOR ENGINE OVERSPEED CAME ON. ENGAGED CRUISE CONTROL, WOULD NOT DISENGAGE WHEN BRAKING, OR BY STEERING WHEEL CONTROL WITHOUT SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. WAS ABLE TO SLOWLY INCREASE SPEED TO 50 MPH, MADE IT HOME VIA HILLY SECONDARY ROADS (MAX 50 MPH) AND STOPPED VEHICLE (BRAKE; STILL IN DRIVE), ENGINE TRIED TO GO TO THE ENGINE REST MODE PRIOR TO SHIFTING TO PARK. SHIFTED TO PARK, ENGINE TRIED TO RE-START AND WOULDN'T AUTOMATICALLY DISENGAGE ATTEMPTING TO TURN OVER. SHUT OFF THE ENGINE AND PULLED KEY. WOULD NOT RE-START, BUT WOULD CRANK. WHEN LETTING GO OF KEY IN THE STEERING WHEEL COLUMN, THE ENGINE WOULD STILL TRY TO TURN OVER ON ITS OWN WITH A LOUD HIGH PITCHED WHINE. HAD TO QUICKLY REMOVE KEY ENTIRELY. I HAVE VIDEO CLIPS TOGETHER OF THIS INCIDENT, AVAILABLE BY EMAIL. HAD NEW BATTERY DELIVERED OVERNIGHT, DID NOT FIX ISSUE. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY MY CAR WILL JUST SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY THEN TURN BACK ON. SOMETIME THE RADIO WILL GO OUT WITH POWER STEERING, ETC. IT JUST SHUTS DOWN FOR NO REASON. WE'VE REPLACEMENT THE BATTERY CABLE SEVERAL MONTHS AGO AS WE HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM AND IT WORKED FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS. IF I USE MY TURN SIGNAL SOMETIMES IT WILL SHUT DOWN AND TURN BACK ON. DID IT ABOUT 20 TIMES TODAY ON THE WAY TO WORK. WITH MY TWO SMALL CHILDREN IN THE CAR WITH ME. I AM USUALLY DRIVING AROUND 65 TO 75 MPH WHEN THIS HAPPENS.

MY 2013 CHEVY MALIBU LT1 ECO IS A HYBRID. ONE DAY DRIVING TO WORK MY POWER STEERING STARTED GOING OUT. AS I KEPT DRIVING, BECAUSE I WAS CLOSE TO WORK, MY CAR WOULD GRADUALLY START DYING. SUDDENLY WHILE DRIVING MY CAR DIED ON ME AND MY POWER STEERING WAS COMPLETELY GONE. I HAD TO STRUGGLE JUST TO GET OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I ALMOST GOT HIT TRYING TO PULL OVER. SEEING HOW ITS A NEWER VEHICLE AND WELL MAINTAINED I DON'T SEE HOW THIS ISN'T A MECHANICAL PROBLEM WITH A FAULTY PART. CALLING AROUND TO THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP MECHANIC SHOPS THEY ARE SAYING ITS THE ALTERNATOR GENERATOR THAT COMES WITH HYBRID VEHICLES. AFTER LOOKING ONLINE I'VE SEEN A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE WITH FAULTY PARTS AND EVEN SOME WERE RECALLED, I DON'T SEE WHY CHEVY IS NOT RECALLING THIS VEHICLE TO GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED. IT'S JUST PUTTING DRIVERS AT RISK. I DRIVE ON A HIGHWAY THAT HAS HEAVY TRAFFIC FROM LOGGING TRUCKS. IF MY POWER STEERING WOULD HAVE WENT OUT WHILE A LOGGING TRUCK WAS COMING TOWARDS ME, I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED ALONG WITH MY PASSENGER.

THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN ONGOING SINCE 2018 WITH MULTIPLE DEALERSHIP SERVICES, AND 2 SEPERATE COMPLAINTS TO GM. 2 NEAR MISS COLLISIONS DUE TO POWER STEERING LOSS.

A FEW TIMES THAT I HAVE BEEN DRIVING MY CAR, I HAVE EXPERIENCED ISSUES WITH THE CAR TURNING OFF AND LOSING POWER STEERING AND CONTROL WHILE IN MOTION. THE WHOLE CAR TURN OFF AND WHEEL LOCKS UP, PREVENTING ME FROM BEING ABLE TO CONTROL THE CAR. COUNTLESS SEARCHING THROUGH FORUMS LED ME TO FIND MANY PEOPLE WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUE. AND FROM THE FORUMS, MANY CLAIM THE REASON FOR THESE PROBLEMS HAPPENING IS FAULTY BATTERY CABLES THAT GM THAT DOESN'T WANT TO ADMIT. TAKATA RECALL THE LIGHTS ON MY DASH KEPT GOING IN AND OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND WHILE STATIONARY. WHILE MY CAR WAS OFF, WITH NO KEY IN THE IGNITION, THE GAUGES WOULD MAKE CLICKING SOUNDS AND BOUNCE UP AND DOWN ABOUT AN 8TH OF AN INCH. THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH WOULD STAY OFF FOR DAYS AT A TIME, MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME TO SEE HOW FAST I WAS GOING OR HOW MUCH GAS WAS IN THE CAR. SOMETIMES THE LIGHTS WOULD CLICK ON FOR ABOUT 30 SECONDS AND THEN THE SPEEDOMETER WOULD BE STUCK AT THE LAST SPEED I WAS GOING AT, FOR DAYS, WITHOUT SHOWING ANYTHING ON THE DIGITAL SPEEDOMETER. WHEN I TOOK IT TO GET LOOKED AT, NO CODES WERE FOUND. MY CAR KEPT DYING WHILE I WAS DRIVING, WENT AND HAD MY BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR TESTED AND THEY WERE 100% FINE. CAR DASH LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING ON AND OFF WHILE I WAS GOING AROUND A CURVE. CHECK ENGINE, OIL, WIPER FLUID, GAS LIGHT, EVERYTHING FLASHED ON AND OFF, THEN MY STEERING LOCKED UP, CAUSING ME TO GO OFF OF THE ROAD AND HIT A TREE. MY CAR WAS TOTALED.

DOOR LOCKS ENGAGING AND DISENGAGING RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING, HEADLIGHTS TURNING OFF AND ON RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING, CAR STARTING WHILE PARKED IN GARAGE (NO REMOTE START). DEALERSHIP REPLACED BCM, COULD NOT GUARANTEE THIS FIXED THE PROBLEM. INDICATED THEY HAD NEVER SEEN THE ISSUE BEFORE. WITHIN 2 WEEKS, ALL ISSUES REPEATED THEMSELVES. RETURNED TO DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP KEPT THE CAR FOR 2 WEEKS AND THEN CALLED ME AND LEFT A MESSAGE TO PICK IT UP AS THEY COULD NOT FIND THE ISSUE. WHEN I CALLED BACK, THE DEALERSHIP SAID "IT WAS A GOOD THING YOU HAVEN'T PICKED UP THE VEHICLE YET, IT STARTED ON ITS OWN 3 TIMES THIS MORNING". IF I HAD PICKED THIS VEHICLE UP, THE ISSUE WOULD HAVE HAPPENED AGAIN WHILE I WAS AT HOME. CASE HAS BEEN FILED WITH CHEVROLET CUSTOMER CAR, AND SUFS (GM GLOBAL SAFETY). NO ACTION HAS BEEN TAKEN. NO ENGINEERS HAVE BEEN SENT DOWN TO LOOK AT THE CAR FROM GM HEADQUARTERS. AFTER THE CAR STARTED ON ITS OWN AT THE DEALERSHIP, THEY CHANGED OUT THE IGNITION SWITCH, BUT AGAIN, CANNOT GUARANTEE THE ISSUES WON'T REOCCUR. CAR WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A THIRD TIME ON MAY 2ND AFTER THE HEADLIGHTS TURNED ON AND OFF 3 TIMES ON THE WAY TO WORK ON MAY 1ST. AFTER HAVING THE VEHICLE UNTIL MAY 10TH, I WAS INFORMED THAT THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT FIND AN ISSUE, AND I SHOULD PICK THE CAR UP AS THEY COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM IF THEY DO NOT SEE IT. THE RESPONSE FROM GM HAS BEEN A JOKE. THE CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. I CANNOT DRIVE IT AT NIGHT, AND CANNOT PART IT IN MY GARAGE, AS IT COULD START AND CAUSE MY ENTIRE FAMILY TO DIE FROM CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING, OR COULD OVERHEAT FROM RUNNING IN PARK WHILE WE ARE SLEEPING AND START A FIRE. I CANNOT IN GOOD CONSCIENCE SELL THE CAR EITHER. SO, I AM STUCK WITH AN UNSAFE VEHICLE THAT GENERAL MOTORS WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR. MY CONCERN IS THAT THERE MAY BE OTHER VEHICLES ON THE ROAD WITH THE SAME ISSUE.

WHILE DRIVING MY 2013 CHEVY MALIBU ON THE HIGHWAY & TURNPIKE, I WAS DRIVING APPROX 60-70 MILES AND HOUR AND THEN OUT OF NOWHERE THE VEHICLE DECREASED SPEED DOWN TO 30 MPH AND ALSO HAD ME CAUSE AN ACCIDENT WITH THE DRIVERS BEHIND ME. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT THEN CAME ON AND A MESSAGE "ENGINE POWER HAS BEEN REDUCED". I WAS ABLE TO PULL THE CAR OVER; HOWEVER, THIS IS A DANGER AND SHOULD BE RESOLVED AS STILL THIS CONTINUES TO OCCUR SINCE I HAVE CONTACTED GENERAL MOTORS AND ADVISED OF THE SAFETY ISSUE. STILL HAVE NOT SEEN A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE YET WHICH I WAS SHOCKED. I ASKED THE GENTLEMAN IF THERE HAVE BEEN OTHER COMPLAINTS AND HE STATED YES. WHEN IT FIRST OCCURED I WAS TURNING RIGHT IN A CITY INTERSECTION LOSS OF POWER STEERING LED THE WHEEL TO LOCK AND THIS LACK OF CONTROL ALMOST FORCED ME INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE, I WAS FORCED TO SLAM ON THE BRAKES AND STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTIONS AND RESTART THE CAR TO REGAIN CONTROL. IT CONTINUES TO DISPLAY THIS ISSUE UNTIL I MADE IT TO THE MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC ALSO DROVE THE VEHICLE AND LOGGED SIMILIAR EXPERIENCES. AFTER THE ISSUE WAS THOUGHT TO BE A LOOSE GROUND IN THE CAR THE PROBLEM SEEMED TO BE RESOLVED.I EMAILED CHEVY MULTIPLE TIMES ABOUT MY CONCERNS WONDERING IF THIS WAS A NOTED PROBLEM FOR MY CAR, I WAS TOLD THAT SINCE THERE WAS NO RECALL THEY WOULD DO NOTHING FOR ME. SINCE IT SEEMED TO BE OKAY I LET IT GO AND CONTINUED. A COUPLE DAYS LATER WHILE DRIVING THE CAR EXPERIENCED ANOTHER REOCCURRENCE OF THE INCIDENT WHILE DRIVING THIS TIME ONLY LOSS OF RADIO AND OTHER DISPLAYS. I AGAIN EMAILED CHEVY AND TOOK MY CAR TO THE SHOP. I STARTED GOOGLING TO FIND ANSWERS WHERE I FOUND MULTIPLE FORUMS WITH 100S OF SIMILAR EXAMPLES AND CHEVY VIA EMAIL STILL CONTINUES TO DENY ISSUES WITH THE MANUFACTURERING OF THE CAR. AFTER 10 DAYS IN THE SHOP, HOUNDING CHEVY FOR ANSWERS I WAS ABLE TO RECEIVE WORD OF A MEMO FROM A LOCAL CHEVY MECHANIC THAT STATED THAT THIS WAS A KNOWN ISSUE FOR MY MODEL/YEAR AND LISTED POTENTIAL FIXES. WHEN I INFORMED CHEVY OF MY ANGER TOWARDS THE MEMO BEING KEPT FROM ME THEY REPLIED THAT I WASN'T ALLOWED TO HAVE THE INFORMATION SINCE I WASN'T A CHEVY MECHANIC. THE ISSUE HAS NOW OCCURED AGAIN ALMOST RESULTING IN ANOTHER ACCIDENT AND MY CAR LOST POWER COMPLETELY. I HAVE OWNED THIS CAR FOR 3 MONTHS.

ON THE THIRD OCCASION, I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE RADIO AND AIR CONDITIONING LOST POWER AND THE CAR WAS THREATENING TO SHUT OFF BUT REGAINED POWER. THE STEERING WHEEL BRIEFLY LOCKED UP DURING THIS EVENT. I LATER TURNED OFF ON THE NEAREST EXIT MAKING A COMPLETE STOP AT THE LIGHT AND THE VEHICLE LOST COMPLETE POWER AND SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC.THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP, THE RADIO AND ALL LIGHTS WENT BLACK AND THE AIR SHUT OFF FOR A FEW SECONDS AND THEN CAME BACK ON. I HAD TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND WAS THEN ABLE TO RESTART IT. THE SAME THING HAPPENED ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET WITH HEAVY TRAFFIC WHILE SLOWING FOR A STOP LIGHT.THE NEXT INCIDENT WAS IN A PARKING LOT WHILE TRYING TO BACK OUT WITH THE CAR STILL IN DRIVE. THERE WERE ALSO A FEW TIMES WHERE THE RADIO WENT BLACK AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP BRIEFLY WHILE MAKING A TURN BUT DID NOT LOOSE POWER. MY DAILY COMMUTE TO WORK REQUIRES ME TO TAKE THE HIGHWAY. I AM TERRIFIED OF WHAT MAY HAPPEN AFTER THE MEMORIAL DAY HOLIDAY WHEN I AM TO RETURN TO WORK AND TRAVEL THE HIGHWAY AGAIN.

FOR EXAMPLE: USING THE THE POWER WINDOWS, ENGAGEMENT OF THE TRACTION CONTROL IN SLIPPERY WEATHER, USING A TURN SIGNAL, WERE ALL CAPABLE OF SHUTTING DOWN ALL ELECTRICAL OPTIONS IN THE VEHICLE INCLUDING THE POWER STEERING. NEARLY CAUSED A COUPLE ACCIDENTS. THE SERVICE STABILTRAK LIGHT WOULD ALSO COME INTERMITTENTLY COME ON. BROUGHT TO DEALERSHIP AGAIN, THEY CLEARED THE DASH LIGHTS AND RESET A SENSOR THAT WAS SHOWING BAD IN A DIAGNOSTIC SCAN. CAR RAN SMOOTHLY FOR A FEW MONTHS. SHOWED SYMPTOMS AGAIN OVER THE SUMMER(LIGHTS FLICKERING AND LOSS OF TOUCH SCREEN MOMENTARILY). DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO RECREATE AGAIN. NOW THIS WINTER THE CAR IS COMPLETELY MESSED UP AGAIN, SAME EXACT SYMPTOMS AS LAST TIME. POWER STEERING LOSS, FULL ELECTRICAL LOSS WHILE IN MOTION, SOMETIMES RANDOMLY, OTHER TIMES AS A DIRECT RESULT OF ENGAGING WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AS I DESCRIBED BEFORE. A AAA WORKER NOTICED THE BURNING OF ELECTRICAL CABLE HOUSING COMING FROM THE BATTERY, I POINTED THIS OUT TO THE DEALERSHIP BUT THEY DON'T SEEM INTERESTED IN IT. BASED ON THE CONSISTENT COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS VEHICLES ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, THIS CAR NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AND GM SERIOUSLY INVESTIGATED. ALSO, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NEVER COMES ON BUT IT DOES SAY SERVICE POWER STEERING AND SERVICE STABILI TRAK. SOMETIMES WHEN THE CAR IS NOT MOVING (PARKED) IT WILL ALSO CUT OFF. ONCE, I WENT TO START THE CAR AND IT WOULD NOT START AND IT WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO REMOVE THE KEY. I TRIED MAKING SURE THE CAR WAS IN PARK (WHICH I KNEW IT WAS BECAUSE IT HAD BEEN PARKED FOR HOURS) BUT NOTHING WOULD MOVE. I ALMOST HAD IT TOWED AND THEN OUT THE BLUE EVERYTHING POPPED ON. CHEVROLET ADVISED THAT THEY "THINK" IT COULD BE THE BATTERY CABLES AND THE FUSE BOX BUT CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT THIS WILL FIX THE ISSUE. I HAVE ALREADY PAID 167.00 FOR THEM TO "TIGHTEN" THE CABLES AND TELL ME WHAT THEY "THINK" MAY BE THE ISSUE. ON SOME OCCASIONS, THE ELECTRICAL ISSUES AND POWER FAILURE IS TRIGGERED BY ENGAGING THE TURN SIGNAL. SEARCHED YOUTUBE AND DISCOVERED THAT DOZENS OF OTHER 2013 MALIBU OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE EXACT SAME ISSUE. ON TOP OF THAT TOOK CAR TO DEALER SHIP AND THEY DIDN'T HANDLE ISSUE UNTIL MY SECOND VISIT TO SEE IF IT WOULD BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY I HAD TO PAY 100$ AND FIND OUT MY STABILITY SERVICE LIGHT, AND LIGHT AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT ARE ON DUE TO A REAR BEARING HUB BEING BROKE AND THE SENSOR NOT BEING ABLE TO DETECT SPEED CAUSING MY RPM TO BE AS THE TECHNICIAN CALLED IT DRIVE ERRATIC AND TRANSMISSION IS NOT SHIFTING UNTIL 4-6,000 RPMS. ALSO NEEDS A FUEL INJECTION, AND THEY MENTION A FRONT TURN SIGNAL BEING OUT WHICH I NEVER HAD ANY INDICATION OR KNOWLEDGE OF MY HEADLIGHTS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. CURRENTLY AT 75,259 MILES I GOT THE CAR IN 2015 WITH ABOUT 45,000 MILES. DO HAVE DOCUMENTS FROM THE TWO VISITS TO THE DEALERSHIP AND ONE VISIT FROM ANOTHER MECHANIC. IT HAPPENED WHEN I SPUN TIRES ON A ICY ROAD DRIVING AT ABOUT 35 MILES AN HOUR DUE TO ROAD CONDITIONS. IT HAPPENED WHEN I WAS DRIVING DOWN A DRY PAVEMENT STATE HIGHWAY AT 65 MILES AN HOUR. A TOTAL OF THREE TIMES. EVERY TIME IT WAS THE SAME PROBLEM BUT DIFFERENT WHEELS. IT HAS HAPPENED WITH LR, RR AND RF WHEELS PART REPLACED WAS 13589507W-(S) WHEEL BEARING ASSEMBLY. THE PROBLEM IS THE ENCODER RING WHICH IS PART OF THIS ASSEMBLY IS CRACKED, PIECES GONE OR THE WHOLE THING GONE. THERE WAS NOT A PROBLEM WITH EARLIER VERSIONS OF THIS ENCODER RING. I UNDERSTAND THAT THIS PART WILL BE ON THE NEW 2017 MODELS AND THAT IT WILL AFFECT THE COMPUTER EVEN MORE THAN THE 2013 VERSION WITH SOME FEATURES SUCH AS CRUISE CONTROL.

THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED FOR MY DAUGHTER AND MY GRANDCHILDREN. THUS SAFETY IS A MAJOR CONCERN. IF INDEED MY DAUGHTER WERE TO HAVE BEEN IN A BUSY INTERSECTION WHEN THIS HAPPENED TODAY, SHE OR MY GRANDCHILDREN COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN KILLED. CHEVROLET DEALER REFUSE TO DO ANYTHING WITHOUT A RECALL AND HAVE SAID THAT THE DIAGNOSTIC WOULD BE $100.00 TO PERFORM. IT HAS SHOWN ON THE SCREEN ON THESE 4 TIMES WORDS OF "CHECK POWER STEERING OR STABILITRAK WARNING" IT'S VERY SCARY. I'VE ALMOST WRECKED 3 DIFFERENT TIMES BECAUSE THE WHEEL LOCKS UP AND I WAS IN A TURN WHEN IT DID IT. THE LAST TIME IT HAPPENED I WAS TRAVELING WITH MY YOUNG CHILDREN AND WE WERE ALMOST REAR ENDED BY AN 18 WHEELER ON THE INTERSTATE AT RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. I FEEL LIKE I'M DRIVING A DEATH TRAP. THEN I PROCEED TO MAKE A RIGHT HAND TURN AND MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP AND I NEARLY HIT A VEHICLE THAT WAS STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT. IT HAPPENS RANDOMLY BUT I DID NOTICE WHEN I HAD THE A/C ON IT HAPPENED REPEATEDLY. AGAIN VEHICLE IS AT CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP AND UNABLE TO RECREATE THE PROBLEM, DEALING WITH GM CORPORATE AT THIS TIME.

CAR DIES WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING. RESTARTS ITSELF AFTER A COUNT OF 3. WILL DIE COMPLETELY WHEN STANDING STILL AND ALL THE LIGHTS AND WINDSHIELD WIPERS GO OFF. THE COMPUTER DOES NOT REGISTER THE DYING. I LOSE POWER STEERING IF IN A TURN WHEN IT DIES. IT STARTS WITH THE RADIO. DEALERSHIP CAN'T FIND PROBLEM AND CAN'T SEEM TO RECREATE IT. NO DIAGNOSTIC TRAIL TO FOLLOW.

SO I HAVE A 2013 MALIBU LT WHICH I HAD TOOK TO THE DEALER FOR A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND ENDED UP BEING THAT THE CAM SHAFT HAD TO BE REPLACED. NOW THAT I GOT MY CAR BACK 2 WEEKS LATER WITH 33,000 MILES IT KEEPS COMING UP WITH SERVICE STABILITRAK. IT STALLS OUT ON ME SO I TAKE IT BACK IN AND THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR BECAUSE THE CHECK ENGINE LIKE IS NOT ON. SO I HAVE MY CAR BACK AND IT'S THE SAME PROBLEM...AT A STOP THE CAR WILL SHOW SERVICE STABILITRAK AND THEN SHORTLY AFTER IT WILL JUST SHUT OFF!! TONIGHT DRIVING HOME FROM WORK I GOT SCARED BECAUSE IT DID IT TO ME ABOUT 6 TIMES AND MIND YOU ITS A 20 MINUTE DRIVE. AS I TURNS ON MY LIGHTS WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 35 MILES PER HOUR THE CAR DID IT AGAIN AND SEEMED LIKE IT WAS ABOUT TO JUST SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF ME DRIVING IT. THE CAR SLOWED ITSELF AND THE STEREO SHUT OFF AND THEN EVERYTHING FLASHED AS IF I HAD JUST TURNED THE CAR ON AND ALL THE DOORS RELOCKED ITSELF. AFRAID OF WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN NEXT I'M TAKING IT IN AGAIN AND DEMANDING THAT THEY RESEARCH THE PROBLEM AND FIX IT...AND I DON'T CARE IF THERE IS NO ENGINE LIGHT ON, THEY NEED TO DO SOMETHING BECAUSE I'M TO THE POINT THAT I'M SCARED TO DRIVE MY CAR IN FEAR THAT I MIGHT CAUSE A WRECK DUE TO MY CAR SHUTTING OFF BY ITSELF!! IF ANYONE KNOWS HOW TO GET THIS RESOLVED SO I CAN EXPLAIN TO THE MECHANIC AT THE CHEVY DEALER WHO SAYS THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY CAR..PLEASE HELP!!

MY FAN KEEPS STAYING ON AFTER MY CAR HAS BEEN TURNED OFF. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER THREE TIMES NOW. THIS WEEK MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, MY CAR SIGNALED THAT IT WAS OVERHEATING, AND I NEEDED TO IDLE MY ENGINE. THE TEMPERATURE GUAGE WENT BACK AND FORTH FROM COLD TO HOT. I WAS TOLD AT THE LAST TRIP TO THE DEALER THEY HAD FIXED EVERYTHING AND I HAD A LIFETIME WARRANTY. NOW THERE IS THIS PROBLEM WHERE I CANNOT TURN ON THE DEFROST OR THE CAR WILL THINK IT IS OVER HEATING, BUT THERE IS NO SMOKE AND IT CAN BE IN AS LITTLE AS 30 SECONDS AFTER I START MY CAR. THE PANEL WHERE THE REAR CAMERA GETS WARM BUT NO HEAT COMES OUT OF THE VENTS. MY CONCERN IS THE VEHICLE WILL IGNITE WHILE I AM DRIVING.
