my power steering intermittently 'locks"Cannnot remove key from ignition.Car loses its data memory, time &date go haywire. A lot of times car wont start.I have taken it a few times to my mechanic. He has run scans, but all the codes are clear.This is the problem.He has checked the Battery&Altenator, all fine.He tried cleaning some ground wires. He feels bad charging me money because he cant fix a problem that he doesnt see.!! When the car is in the shop,the intermittent problem is not evident.!!! Very frustrating.

GM reclassified a known safety defect affecting over 300,000 vehicles as a “special coverage campaign” instead of a recall. This has allowed them to deny timely repairs and loaner vehicles, leaving owners without safe transportation.I have been without my vehicle since August 2021. I began actively trying to repair it again in June 2025, and the dealer has had it for the past week with no resolution. Both Benton Chevrolet and Gwatney Chevrolet in Arkansas have refused to coordinate a loaner despite GM’s ability to authorize one. My family is displaced, and this is a safety hazard.GM Case #[XXX]. I I took the car to get a smog and it didn't pass due to battery pack malfunction which leads to the alternator going out and drain the battery causing the vehicle to stall even turning off at times and the most dangerous part is it could cause a fire in the backseat and the trunk this is what the technician at the small place told me he said it's very dangerous and I need to get rid of the vehicle or fix it and there is a recall but when I put my VIN number it shows no recall but if I look up the year make and model of my vehicle it shows that every call is for that exact problem

Out of no where my car would not start. I got it jumped and took it to an auto store and they checked the battery and alternator health and it all came back great. I was able to drive it home from there and two hours later it wouldn’t start again

The contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated while driving at various speeds with the A/C engaged, the vehicle lost motive power. The check engine warning light was illuminated, and the message "Service Battery Soon" was displayed. The vehicle was steered to the side of the road and was able to restart. The vehicle was taken to an Auto Zone, where the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was then taken to an unknown dealer, where it was diagnosed with a low voltage battery. No further information was provided. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 110,670.

Without any warning and while driving the MALIBU 2LT goes into engine reduced power mode and will not excel over 50mph. NEXT, the Service stable track warning light would come on intermittently and disable traction control. This is very dangerous. Also the MALIBU 2LT will jerk at the wheel without warning when the power steering warning comes on. Additionally, power steering fluid does not have a measuring device to see when it falls below the required amount needed. It’s basically a guessing game that costs over $120.00 to have checked with no real resolve .

78153 miles 2013 Malibu econotec never 1 problem until out of the blue timing chain eats thru plastic and metal tensioners with metal and plastic shavings going into engine delillo Chevy Huntington Beach ca along with my mechanic confirmed engine replacement here lies my hazard and or product defect timing chain causes stalling idling compete shutdown rpms up and down no engine light comes I was on the freeway and on streets car completely stalls I have to shift in nuetral and pray it’s starts almost getting rear ended 3 times if this is not a safety issues wow you got to kick me I’ve read numerous reports of same issues and still no recalls plus 78,153 miles and I’m to replace the engine I’ve never heard a mechanic say old is that engine it’s how many miles this is my safety complaint

Car randomly goes into engine reduced power mode and won't go over 50mph. Power steering either won't turn the wheels and will start working again without warning while driving and jerks wheel to the right. Service stabilitrac warning would come on intermittently and disable traction control. Service stabilitrac warning is on now everytime I crank the vehicle and traction control is never working. I have pictures where it has went in limp mode and videos of the gauges doing crazy things after this warning has come up. Very dangerous. Car will jerk the wheel without warning when power steering warning comes on.

5/31/23, while driving uphill, car shuttered as I was slowing down at stop sign and displayed "Service Stabilitrak" & "Engine power reduced" which caused the car engine power to drop drastically. I was barely able to make it home safely with my children. On 6/1/23 tried to crank it, first time it wouldn't turn over, second time it started up. Check engine lights and messages still on, radio screen completely black (has gone out multiple times at random over past two years). Drove around the block with half power. On 6/2/23, attempted to crank three times, never turned over. Popped the hood to discover negative battery terminal severely coroded. While cleaning terminal, find battery cables possible faulty. Upon research, discovered how many thousands of others have the exact same issue, GM refuses to acknowledge to release a recall for those like me who can't afford hundreds wasted having anyone even looking at it, much less paying for guesstimating the wrong solution. So now I'm stranded along with my children, and don't have any resources to hope for a solution in the near future.

My 2013 Chevy Malibu Eco 2LT has 120,000 miles on it. I purchased the vehicle at 68,000 miles from the only owner of the car. I have had the car 6 years and kept up on all maintenance. While I was driving in a 45mph zone my vehicle’ s interior lighting started flashing. My dash flashed then said service stability track, car went blank then back on said service power steering flashed again and said service battery charging system and then went completely dead. When I got to the bottom of the hill to turn off main road my brakes had locked up in the rear and I had no power steering and wheel locked could not turn wheel. Vehicle would not allow me to shift into neutral so I could be pushed out of traffic and I had no flashers or any power. Battery was 1year old. My biggest concern is that the vehicle never alerted me with a service engine light. There was no indication that my alternator was not responding. And mechanics and dealership service shop are wanting thousands of dollars for possible parts and labor without a clear idea of what the exact issue is. I believe that this issue was recalled but since my vehicle was not manufactured in a specific state was never repaired. I believe that my GCM has a malfunction that was to be replaced and reprogrammed with the appropriate software!!

Driving the vehicle it just shuts off, the will cause an accident driving down the road. It’s a major issue with shutting off an the ignition switch at that. I can’t drive it it’s parked. Along with the engine. My mechanic told me these are the troubles there should be a recall on these cars.

The contact owned a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 65 MPH and his son another vehicle behind made him aware of sparks seen coming from underneath the front of the vehicle. The contact stated that smoke was seen coming from underneath the hood and exit the highway. The contact stated that soon after exiting the vehicle, it caught fire. The check engine and loss of power steering warning lights were illuminated. The fire department extinguished the flames and informed the contact that the origin of the fire came from the engine compartment. Both a fire department and police report were filed. The vehicle remained at an out-of-state junkyard. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The approximate failure mileage was 119,000.

My wife and I bought this beautiful 2013 Chevy Malibu.upon the first couple of days we had to take the car back to the dealer cause it was repeatedly shut down on us.The used car dealership never fixed the problem.As I done my research on this à2013 Chevy Malibu it has 9 recalls and these recalls been issued since 11-13-2013.These are all the recalls on 2013 Chevrolet Malibu by National highway traffic safety.suspension 12-22-2021.suspension 08-12-2021.... suspension 12-10-2020...... electrical system tran 7-5-2016.....visibility 03-23-2015.... electrical system seats 11-13-2013... electrical system software 5-7-2012. Please tell me how to go abought all these defects

Car starts idling up and down while stopped at light. When the car is given the gas to go it will not pick up speed it stalls and car completely turns off in drive. While parked in parking lot I put the car in reverse and it would not move and that has happened 5 times. The engine light comes on and I have taken it to 4 different mechanics to put the diagonstic test on it and it comes up with idle sensor, change it and 2 days later car starts jerking and will not go over 35mph and finally dies. While driving 55mph on the hwy the car looses speed and wont go over 35 mph. Nobody is allowed to drive this car until chevy fixes it, and it will sit in my yard until then because my family is more important than a piece of metal. I wont sell it because of this danger either. I crank it up every month but it has not been driven in 2 years.

Car gives engine power reduced warning and then drastically loses speed. Another warning saying engine over speed comes up and the car is unable to accelerate at safe speeds. This is dangerous because I can easily be rear ended by this malfunction especially when driving on the highway. I have children and having them at risk of being in a motor vehicle accident due to a malfunctioning car does not sit well with me. I have seen this issue reported on several other platforms. When I took the car to the dealership regarding this issue I was told I needed to replace the battery but 2 batteries later and I’m still having the same issue. There is no warnings or signs prior to this malfunction happening, it is unpredictable and at random, making it that more dangerous. I would also like to add that this has happened a repeated number of times, it is not an isolated incident. But as of late it has been occurring more frequently.

I brought my 2013 Malibu LT in March of 2021. When I test drove and took it to autozone to get a diagnosis before buying the car nothing was wrong with it. After having the car for about 3 months the problems started. When I went to get it checked again it said that my alternator wasn’t working correctly how it should do I replaced the alternator. After getting the alternator replaced my car still stalls while driving and acts like it doesn’t want to go. When I try to start my car it barely turns over to start. While I’m driving I can’t turn on the radio or lights because it makes my car power go out. The radio lights turn on and off. When I put car in reverse it shuts off. When I’m driving the car shuts off out of nowhere and I have to put it in park and turn it back on. Sometimes it takes awhile to turn back on. When it first happened the engine reduced power popped up as a warning then the engine light came on the dashboard on and off. Everyone says they don’t know what is wrong with it so I feel that the manufacturer should be reliable to fix these problems for us customers. These problems put my child and I at risk by stopping out of nowhere in traffic. I’m currently pregnant and it happened with me and my kids in the car.

Engine power reduced notification will come on, a part will be replaced as notified. The same notification will appear a month or so later after repair. This has happened on more than 1 occasion.

I have this vehicle for past five years few years ago I see the engine reduce power sign came up and the check engine light turn on I took it to the dealership they fixed it cost me over $1000 And then I moved back to Illinois and a few months later I had the same sign and light came back up I called the dealership they said my work is still under warranty so I can take it to any Chevy dealer and I took it to the one close to me another time they kept the car all day fix it and then I start driving a few months later same sign same light back up again and it seems like it’s an ongoing issue I have been looking around for resolution and I find a lot of people having this issue in Chevy Malibu’s

ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS, VEHICLE HAS SHUT COMPLETELY OFF. BECAUSE IT IS AN ECO ENGINE, I ASSUMED IT WAS SIMPLY IDLING DOWN, WHILE STATIONARY A TRAFFIC LIGHT OR STOP SIGN, AS USUAL BUT THAT WAS NOT THE CASE. THE FIRST COUPLE OF TIMES THE VEHICLE SHUTOFF WAS AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS, AND DRIVE THROUGH LANES. AND THEN THE VEHICLE SHUTOFF WHILE ON THE INTERSTATE AT 70 MILES PER HOUR. SHORTLY AFTER THAT INCIDENT, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I REPLACED THE BATTERY BUT THE CAR HAS STILL HAD TO BE JUMPED OFF THREE TIMES SINCE THE REPLACEMENT. AND WHEN I HAD THOSE CODES REPAIRED, NOW THE VEHICLE DRIVES AS IF IT ISN'T GETTING GAS AND THEN ALL OF SUDDEN IT WILL JERK AND ACCELERATE QUICKLY. LASTLY, WHEN THE BRAKES ARE USED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, THE PEDAL WILL SUDDENLY GO ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOORBOARD, THEN COME AND TIGHTEN TO POINT I CAN BARELY PRESS THE BRAKES. I HAVE REPLACED THE BRAKES ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS AND THE MECHANICS DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT IS CAUSING THAT ISSUE TO OCCUR.

I HAVE KEPT UP REGULAR MAINTENANCE ON IT. THE VEHICLE NOW HAS AN ISSUES WITH STALLING WHILE STOPPED AT A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN AFTER DRIVING IT OF AND ON THROUGHOUT THE DAY. I BEEN HAD THIS VEHICLE SINCE 2018 NOTHING BUT ISSUES FEW MONTHS HAVING THIS VEHICLE I START EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH RADIO COMING ON AND GOING OFF FOR NO REASON SO TOOK IT TO GET LOOKED AT THE SAID IT WAS FROM WIRING IN THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT THAT WAS CAUSING IT SO I PAID $400 TO GET THAT FIXED. BUT STILL WAS AND IS HAVING SAME ISSUES WITH ELECTRICAL AND NOW MY HEAT COMES ON BY ITSELF EVEN WHEN THE KNOB IS IN THE OFF POSITION. MY PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT WARNING GOES OFF EVEN WHEN NO ONES IN THE SEAT. AND TO TOP IT OFF MY CAR BEEN RUNNING BAD ENGINE OVERHEATING BUT NOTHING ON MY DASHBOARD IS TELLING ME THAT BUT I CAN SMELL BURNING FROM MY ENGINE COMING THROUGH MY VENTS AND IT'S EXHAUSTING. BUT AS OF 3/29/2021 I HAD MULTIPLE ICONS POP UP ON MY DASHBOARD AND NOW MY ENGINE LIGHT ON. SO I FINALLY GOT A CODE P228D COME UP AND I BEEN EXPLAINING TO AUTO SHOPS THAT'S SOMETHING WRONG BECAUSE IT'S NOT WANTING TO PICK UP SPEED. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED FROM A DEALERSHIP IN JUNE OF 2020. SINCE OWNING THE VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE HAS HAD NOTHING BUT ISSUES. MAJOR ISSUES INCLUDING A STALLING/PUTTERING VIBRATION WHEN STOPPED AT A LIGHT AS WELL AS JUST STARTING THE CAR, IT HAS AN EXTREMELY LOUD START AND ROUGH. HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE IN AND OUT OF THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES INCLUDING ONE VISIT TAKING 3 WEEKS WITH A RENTAL I WAS GIVEN. THE ISSUES ARE STILL ALL HERE, INCLUDING AN OVERHEATING WITH MY WARNING SYSTEMS NOT GIVING ANY SORT OF SIGNS OR LIGHTS, ONSTAR THANKFULLY TOLD ME TO GET THE VEHICLE IN IMMEDIATELY AS I WAS IN THE RED FOR OVERHEATING AND THE FAN STILL CONTINUES TO WORK AFTER THE CAR HAS BEEN OFF FOR A FEW MINUTES. A SMELL OF BURNING COMES FROM THE CAR EVERYDAY AND OVERALL DOESN'T FEEL SAFE. THE OTHER ISSUE I BELIEVE IS STARTING TO OCCUR IS WITH THE RECALL OF THE CORRODED REAR TOE LINKS CAUSING MAJOR CLUNKING NOISES WHEN HITTING BUMPS AND TURNING.

I THEN MUST PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK TO RESTART IT, I ALSO HAVE TO PUSH ON THE ACCELERATOR TO GIVE THE VEHICLE GAS AS IT WILL NOT START WITHOUT PERFORMING THIS STEP. THIS ISSUE HAS HAPPENED APPROXIMATELY 20 TIMES. I HAVE HAD MY MECHANIC INSPECT MY VEHICLE AND HE IS UNABLE TO FIND ANY ISSUES AS WHEN THIS HAPPENS NO CODES APPEAR ON A READER AND NO WARNINGS ARE DISPLAYED ON THE DASH.

I WAS TRAVELING ON 294 SOUTH USING CRUISE CONTROL AT 70 MPH WHEN THE CAR STARTED LOSING POWER BUT ALL INTERNAL APP LIGHTS LIKE THE RADIO REMAINED ON AND THE STEERING WHEEL WAS STILL FUNCTIONAL. ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS PUT IN PARKED IT SHUT OFF. ONLY ISSUE LIGHTS THAT APPEARED 1 WEEK PRIOR WAS THE ABS SENSOR HAD MALFUNCTIONED ON THE FRONT LEFT TIRE. I ATTEMPTED TO JUMP THE BATTERY BUT IT DID NOT RESPOND. CAR HAD BEEN PARKED AND A FRIEND WHO WORKS ON CARS BELIEVES THE ENGINE IS DEAD EVEN THOUGH THERE SHOWS 23% OF OIL LEFT AND NO OTHER SYMPTOMS OF A BLOWN ENGINE. I HAVE BEEN GOODLAND 2013 CHEVY MALIBU ECO ISSUES AND OTHER THAN POTENTIALLY THE STARTER IT COULD BE THE COMPUTER THAT HAS DIED. I CHANGED OUT THE BATTERY AND IT TURNS EVERYTHING ON, BUT STRUGGLES TO CRANK AND REMAIN ON. I CAME ACROSS SEVERAL LINKS REGARDING A RECALL DUE TO COMPUTER, BUT HONESTLY DON'T KNOW IF ITS EVEN THAT. FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS MY CAR HAS BEEN CONSISTENTLY BURNING OIL BETWEEN OIL CHANGES TO THE POINT WHERE THERE IS LESS THAN A QUART IN THE ENGINE. AS OF APRIL 2020 I HAVE HAD TO ADD APPROXIMATELY TWO QUARTS OF OIL EACH WEEK IN BETWEEN THE OIL CHANGES IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN A PROPER LEVEL OF OIL IN THE ENGINE. MY MECHANIC REPLACED A SOLENOID BECAUSE THERE WAS A CODE SAYING IT NEEDED REPLACED IN APRIL. THE ENGINE LIGHT DOES NOT COME ONE, HOWEVER THE ENGINE WILL CLICK OR KNOCK LOUDLY AFTER DRIVING IT APPROXIMATELY 60 MILES AFTER ADDING OIL TO IT. MY MECHANIC STATED THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THE 2013 CHEVY MALIBU ECO. I AM AWARE OF SEVERAL PEOPLE WHO HAD THIS SAME ISSUE AND EVENTUALLY HAD TO REPLACE THEIR ENGINE AT THEIR COST. ALL OWNERS OF 2012-2014 CHEVY ECO MALIBU.I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY THE CHEVY DEALER IN MY TOWN THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE TO GM AND YET THEY WILL NOT ISSUE A RECALL NOR COVER THE COST OF ENGINE REPLACEMENT. I TOOK IT OUT IN 3 WEEKS IT WAS BACK IN THE SHOP CAUSE I HAD TO REPLACE THE TIMING CHAINS AND HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP AND PREFORM A SYSTEM SCAN WICH FOUND THAT THERE IS A MECHANICAL ISSUE WITH THE ENGINE AND ALSO THE HIGH FUEL PRESSURE WAS MAKING SLOT OF NOISE. AND PUT A NEW HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP A HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PIPE. I SPENCER A FEW DOLLARS ON THAT. I TOOK IT OUT IT WAS OK TILL IT STARTED GROWING SMOKE TROUGH THE A.C AGAIN IT KEEPED HOLDING BACK ON ME IN THE LIGHTS AND IT SHUTED OFF ON ME TWICE IN WERE I HAD TO HIT PARKING AND SHUT OFF AND BACK ON SO IT CAN WORK. THEY STILL COULD NOT DUPLICATE OUR CALL STALLING AND THEN SHUTTING OFF WHEN COMING TO A STOP. WAS ABLE TO SLOWLY INCREASE SPEED TO 50 MPH, MADE IT HOME VIA HILLY SECONDARY ROADS (MAX 50 MPH) AND STOPPED VEHICLE (BRAKE; STILL IN DRIVE), ENGINE TRIED TO GO TO THE ENGINE REST MODE PRIOR TO SHIFTING TO PARK. SHIFTED TO PARK, ENGINE TRIED TO RE-START AND WOULDN'T AUTOMATICALLY DISENGAGE ATTEMPTING TO TURN OVER. SHUT OFF THE ENGINE AND PULLED KEY. WOULD NOT RE-START, BUT WOULD CRANK. WHEN LETTING GO OF KEY IN THE STEERING WHEEL COLUMN, THE ENGINE WOULD STILL TRY TO TURN OVER ON ITS OWN WITH A LOUD HIGH PITCHED WHINE. HAD TO QUICKLY REMOVE KEY ENTIRELY. I HAVE VIDEO CLIPS TOGETHER OF THIS INCIDENT, AVAILABLE BY EMAIL. HAD NEW BATTERY DELIVERED OVERNIGHT, DID NOT FIX ISSUE. THE CAR WOULD COMPLETELY DIE WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. THAT LEAD TO THE POWER STEERING GOING OUT. EVERY CODE ON THE DASH BOARD WOULD COME ON. THEN THE BATTERY WOULD JUST COMPLETELY DIE AND NEED TO BE JUMPED. IT WOULD RUN OK FOR A FEW DAYS THEN BE DEAD THE NEXT. MORE AND MORE THE BATTERY WOULD COMPLETELY BE DEAD EVERY FEW DAYS. HAD TWO NEW BATTERIES INSTALLED AND IT WOULD TEST FINE USUALLY. SEEMED THAT SOMETHING WAS DRAINING IT SOMEHOW. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER MANY TIME AND COULD NEVER GET A DEFINITIVE ANSWER. FINALLY IN NOVEMBER 2019 I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND IT COMPLETELY DIED AND WOULD NOT TAKE A CHARGE (JUMP). STRANDED ON THE HIGH I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO COYLE CHEVROLET ONLY TO BE TOLD THEY DIDN'T HAVE A HYBRID MECHANIC TO LOOK AT IT. THEN HAD IT TOWED TO BACHMAN CHEVROLET ONLY FOR THEM TO TELL ME AFTER HAVING IT FOR TWO WEEKS THAT THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE ENGINE. EITHER THEY NEEDED TO DISASSEMBLE IT TO FIND THE PROBLEM OR I WOULD NEED TO GET A NEW ENGINE FOR $7,000. I HAD A CLAIM WITH GM BUT THEY ALSO JUST GAVE ME THE RUN AROUND. THE CAR ITSELF IS ONLY WORTH $3,500-$4,500. I STILL WAS PAYING ON THE LOAN FOR IT ALSO. NOT ONLY HAVE I NOT HAD A CAR SINCE NOVEMBER I HAVE A CAR THAT WON'T START AND CAN NOT TRADE IN ON ANOTHER CAR. WHEN THAT HAPPENS MY DOORS WOULD LOCK AND MY CAR WOULD STALL. HOWEVER; UNLIKE MOST OTHER CONSUMERS WHO ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM MY STEERING WHEEL DIDN'T GET TIGHT AND I DID NOT LOSE CONTROL OF MY CAR. I JUST DROVE TO WORK TODAY AND WENT TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN DOWN THE STREET LEADING TO MY JOB THE SERVICE POWER STEERING FLASHED AGAIN ,THE CAR STALLED ,AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THEY CONTACTED THE THIRD PARTY WARRANTY COMPANY (PORTFOLIO) AND THEY MADE THE DEALERSHIP REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION WITH A JUNKYARD TRANSMISSION. BUT WHEN I TOOK IT IN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AND I ASSUMED THAT IT WAS ON BECAUSE OF THE TRANSMISSION. BUT ALSO ASSUMED THAT BECAUSE IT WAS A DEALERSHIP WITH SPECIAL TRAINED TECHNICIANS THAT THEY WOULD CHECK ALL THE CODES AND CLEAR THEM BEFORE THEY RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO ME. WELL THEY DIDN'T AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS STILL ON WHEN I PICKED IT UP BUT THOUGHT MAYBE I HAD TO DRIVE IT A COUPLE MILES TO RESET THE LIGHT. WELL THE LIGHT DID GO OUT BUT CAME BACK ON ABOUT A WEEK LATER AND WHEN I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER THEY CALLED THE WARRANTY COMPANY AND THEY SAID THAT BECAUSE NOW THAT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT I HAD, EXPIRED 8 DAYS PRIOR THAT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. I CALLED BOTH GM AND CHEVY AND EXPLAINED THE SITUATION AND NEITHER ONE WILL ASSIST ME WITH THE PROBLEM ONLY BECAUSE THE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY EXPIRED EVEN THOUGH I HAVE LESS THAN A 100K ON IT. THEY GAVE ME A CASE NUMBER BUT IN THE END THEY SAID THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. NO WAY SHOULD BOTH THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION GO BAD AT THE SAME TIME ESPECIALLY WITH LESS THAN 100K ON IT. THIS IS IN ADDITION TO ANOTHER COMPLAINT THAT I JUST FILED WITH YOU REGARDING THE CAR LOOSING ALL POWER WHILE I AM DRIVING. AS I WAS MAKING MY WAY BACK TOWARDS THE BRIDGE TO GET HOME, I NOTICE DIFFERENT SIGNALS FLASHING ACROSS MY DASHBOARD, THEN THE CAR SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY GIVING ME LITTLE TO NO TIME TO MAKE A DECISION TO PULL OVER. THE STEELING WHEEL LOCKED UP GIVING ME NO CONTROL AS TO WHICH WAY TO STEER THE VEHICLE, CAR COMPLETELY DEAD. I WAS SO BLESSED THAT NO CARS WAS IN THE WAY OF WHERE THE CAR WAS GOING. THE CAR REFUSED TO START AGAIN AND KEY GOT STUCK . I HAD TO GET IT TOWED HOME. I'M BEGGING CHEVY, PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS ISSUE. I HAVE SEEN LOTS OF REVIEWS REGARDING THESE MAKE AND MODELS AND IT LOOKS LIKE NOTHING IS BEING DONE. I HAD A 2006 CHEVY MALIBU WHICH I LOVED SO MUCH THAT I DECIDED TO TRUST CHEVY WITH MY NEXT CAR. AS I CLOSED MY EYES THAT NIGHT I COULD ONLY IMAGINE WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPEN IF I WAS ON THAT BRIDGE HEADING HOME WITH CARS TRAVELING 60-70MPH? WHAT IF I WAS INFRONT OF A RIVER, ON A TRAIN TRACK, IN FRONT OF A BIG BODY VEHICLE SUCH AS A BUS OR 18-WHEELER OR SOMEONE WALKING IN THE DIRECTION THE CAR WAS GOING? WHILE DRIVING MY 2013 CHEVY MALIBU ON THE HIGHWAY & TURNPIKE, I WAS DRIVING APPROX 60-70 MILES AND HOUR AND THEN OUT OF NOWHERE THE VEHICLE DECREASED SPEED DOWN TO 30 MPH AND ALSO HAD ME CAUSE AN ACCIDENT WITH THE DRIVERS BEHIND ME. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT THEN CAME ON AND A MESSAGE "ENGINE POWER HAS BEEN REDUCED". I WAS ABLE TO PULL THE CAR OVER; HOWEVER, THIS IS A DANGER AND SHOULD BE RESOLVED AS STILL THIS CONTINUES TO OCCUR SINCE I HAVE CONTACTED GENERAL MOTORS AND ADVISED OF THE SAFETY ISSUE. STILL HAVE NOT SEEN A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE YET WHICH I WAS SHOCKED. I ASKED THE GENTLEMAN IF THERE HAVE BEEN OTHER COMPLAINTS AND HE STATED YES. SO I AM VERY SHOCKED THAT THIS ISSUE HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED. MY VEHICLE NOW IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND STILL MECHANICS DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS WRONG AND CAN NOT FIX THIS ISSUE. I DO NOT FEEL THAT I HAVE TO PAY FOR PARTS THAT THIS VEHICLE DOES NOT WHILE THEY TRY TO PINPOINT THE PROBLEM. LITERALLY THE MECHANIC AT DAY CHEVROLET DURING THE DIAGNOSTIC JUST SAID TO LETS START SOMEWHERE AND SEE IF THAT RESOLVES THE ISSUE. I DON'T BELIEVE I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR PARTS THAT MAY OR MAY NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE. SINCE THEN I NOW HAVE MORE LIGHTS POPPING UP REGARDING TRACTION STABILITY, PARKING BREAK (WHICH WAS REPLACED AND DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE) TRACK CONTROL, ETC HAVE COME UP AND SEEMS TO HAVE DISABLED MY ANTI-LOCK BRAKES. COULD SOMEONE PLEAS CONTACT ME IF THERE IS A SOLUTION FOR THIS IF SOMEONE IS AWARE OF WHAT PART OR PARTS WILL FIX THIS DEFECT.

CAR IS CURRENTLY PARKED AT A MECHANIC BECAUSE I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE IT. IT BEGAN WITH THE RPMS GOING TO 3000-4000 WHEN BARELY PRESSING GAS PEDAL. THE CAR STALLED AFTER PUTTING IT IN REVERSE NEARLY CAUSING ME TO GET HIT, THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON SO WE TOOK IT DIRECTLY TO OUR MECHANIC. THE CODE FOR A BAD CAM SOLENOID WAS LISTED, AND THAT WAS REPLACED. DROVE IT FOR ABOUT A WEEK, STILL NOTICING ISSUES WITH RPMS, AND WHEN BRAKING, THE RPMS WOULD INCREASE. JUST HAD TO DROP IT BACK OFF AT MECHANIC BECAUSE WHILE GOING 30MPH, THE CAR WHEN TO 4000 RPMS AND THE 'ENGINE OVERSPEED' LIGHT CAME ON THE DASH, AND THE CAR WAS LOSING POWER. AFTER I TURNED THE CAR OFF, AND RESTARTED, THE RPMS WOULD NOT GO BEYOND 2000, AND THE FUEL HAND WENT TO A FULL TANK? THIS IS COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS FOR A CAR WITH 70,000 MILES, AND GM SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. THANKFULLY I'VE NOT BEEN INVOLVED IN A CAR ACCIDENT YET, BUT I'M FEARFUL IF I CONTINUE TO DRIVE THIS CAR, I'LL NOT BE ABLE TO SAY THAT!

THIS IS VERY UNSAFE, REALLY DISAPPOINTED WITH GENERAL MOTORS AND CHEVROLET. I ALMOST CRASH WITH OTHER CAR BECAUSE OF THIS. IT REALLY IS A FABRIC ISSUE, THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF CASES AND COMPLAINTS DEMONSTRATING THAT THIS IS A ERROR THAT GM OR CHEVROLET NEEDS TO FIX FOR THE SAFETY OF THEIR CUSTOMERS.

THIS INCIDENT WAS A BIT SCARY. TWO CODES WERE RETRIEVED VIA ON BOARD DIAGNOSTICS, P228D AND P0089. CODES WERE CLEARED AND THINGS SO FAR ARE OK. MILEAGE ON THE VEHICLE IS 48,683.

THIS HAPPENS ON THE STREET ON THE HIGHWAY ANYWHERE IM DRIVING . CAR WAS TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY HELD IT FOR 2 WEEKS AND SAID IT WAS A OIL PUMP SOLENOID VALVE BEING STUCK. AS SOON AS I DROVE OFF THE LOT I DIDNT EVEN GET AROUND THE CORNER AND THE CAR DIED AT A LOW SPEED AND THE STABILITY LIGHT CAME ON ALONG WITH THE POWER STEERI MY PUMP AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. JULY 8 MY HUSBAND WENT TO GO TO THE STORE HE GOT TO THE STORE THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON HE TOOK IT RIGHT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. AS OF YESTERDAY THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUT OFF, ENTIRE TOUCHSCREEN MODULE SHUT OFF, AND TURNED BACK ON IN A SPLIT SECOND. ONCE THE CAR TURNED ON, THE STEERING WHEEL WAS COMPLETELY TIGHT, ALMOST LOCKED, AND WE WOULD BARELY TURN INTO OUR DRIVEWAY WHILE IN MOTION ON A 25PM STREET. IN SUMMER 2015 WHILE USING AC, HEAT RANDOMLY WOULD BLAST OUT. (WHILE IDLE OR DRIVING). WOULD HAVE TO RESTART CAR TO GET AC TO WORK AGAIN. IN THE PAST 2 WEEKS DEC15/JAN16, ENGINE OVERHEATED-IDLE INDICATOR CAME ON WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, ONCE AT 65 MPH, ONCE AT 30 MPH. THEN A FEW MINUTES LATER IT WOULD TURN OFF. I LOOKED AT TEMP GAUGE, AND IT WAS NOT AT AN OVERHEATING LEVEL (HALF WAY ONLY). ALSO, NOW HEAT ONLY INTERMITTENTLY WORKS. I WILL HAVE TO TURN CAR ON AND OFF REPEATEDLY, AND TURN AC ON/OFF, HEAT ON/OFF, DEFROST ON/OFF, AND SOMETIMES THE HEAT WILL FINALLY GET WARM. NEVER SEEMS TO GET HOT LIKE IT'S SUPPOSED TO. TOOK TO REPAIR SHOP FOR THE ENGINE OVERHEATED/IDLE WARNING AND STATED NOTHING WAS WRONG. SAFETY ISSUE NOT HAVING HEAT FOR FRONT WINDSHIELD DEFROST WHEN IT'S UNDER 30 DEGREES OUT. MECHANIC SAID IT'S PROBABLY A COMPUTER ISSUE WITH THE CAR. BUT NOW I'M SEEING THIS IS A RECURRING PROBLEM WITH MANY CAR OWNERS. GM NEEDS TO RECALL, AS THIS CAN BE A SAFETY CONCERN!

MY FAN KEEPS STAYING ON AFTER MY CAR HAS BEEN TURNED OFF. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER THREE TIMES NOW. THIS WEEK MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, MY CAR SIGNALED THAT IT WAS OVERHEATING, AND I NEEDED TO IDLE MY ENGINE. THE TEMPERATURE GUAGE WENT BACK AND FORTH FROM COLD TO HOT. I WAS TOLD AT THE LAST TRIP TO THE DEALER THEY HAD FIXED EVERYTHING AND I HAD A LIFETIME WARRANTY. NOW THERE IS THIS PROBLEM WHERE I CANNOT TURN ON THE DEFROST OR THE CAR WILL THINK IT IS OVER HEATING, BUT THERE IS NO SMOKE AND IT CAN BE IN AS LITTLE AS 30 SECONDS AFTER I START MY CAR. THE PANEL WHERE THE REAR CAMERA GETS WARM BUT NO HEAT COMES OUT OF THE VENTS. MY CONCERN IS THE VEHICLE WILL IGNITE WHILE I AM DRIVING.

DRIVING 55MPH ON CRUISE CONTROL, I HEARD A WARNING CHIME. LOOKED AT DASH AND THE WORDS ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED WERE ON THE SCREEN. I LOOKED FOR A SYMBOL ON THE DASH TO TELL ME MORE AND SAW THE ENGINE SYMBOL WAS ON. THE CAR DIDN'T PERFORM OUT OF CHARACTER FROM ALREADY GOING 55 ON CRUISE. NOTHING CHANGED IN THE ENGINE PERFORMANCE. I CONTINUED TOWARD HOME AS THAT WAS MY DESTINATION AND WAS LESS THAN 15 MILES FROM HOME. I PARKED THE CAR IN MY GARAGE, TURNED OFF THE ENGINE, WAITED A FEW SECONDS, THEN STARTED THE ENGINE AGAIN. THE WARNING CAME ON RIGHT AWAY. I CALLED THE DEALER WHO I'M LEASING THE CAR FROM BUT IT WAS A SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND THEY WERE CLOSED. I DID LEAVE THEM A MESSAGE TO CALL ME ON MONDAY AND WHY.
