GM has issued a known defect for the 2019 Chevrolet Malibu. My VIN is not on the recall list for the Shift to Park issue. The Chevy dealer will not fix the defect for free. I would like to add my VIN to the recall list.

My vehicle will not sense that it is in park when it is in park and therefore will not allow me to shut off the vehicle. This is become a problem multiple times and does it consistently enough that it could be a danger. What if I needed to exit the vehicle quickly and it will not allow me to.

I have a 2019 chevrolet malibu. When I stop the car and shift into park the "Shift to park " lite comes on. This is very annoying because you have re-shift into "park" several times before the lite goes off. This is very dangerous because you don't know if the vehicle is really in "park".

When you park the car and shift the car into park a message appears on the dashboard stating "Shift to Park" the car does not think it is in park and is telling you to put it into the Park Gear to turn off the car. I have no Brake Lights when applying the Brakes and cruise control no longer works due to Service ESC message on display. I was advised by replacing the battery this would clear the ESC but it did not. I believe the service ESC message is tied into the brake lights and cruise control not working.
