BUT I WAS PRESSING HARD . IN THE OCCURANCE IN 99 I WAS IN A CONSTRUCTION ZONE . THERE WAS A LITTLE LOOSE PAVEMENT MATERIAL ON THE ROAD , AS THEY WERE CUTTING OUT PAVEMENT 100 YARDS UP THE ROAD .I APPLIED THE BRAKES IN A FAST STOP AS THE TRAFFIC HAD STOPPED IN FRONT OF ME . AND THE TRUCK DID NOT STOP AS FAST AS IT SHOULD OF . I WAS PRESSING THE BRAKES HARD , BUT THE TRUCK WASN'T STOPPING AS IT SHOULD HAVE . IN BOTH INSTANCES THE PEDAL WAS HARD . IT DID NOT GO TO THE FLOOR .

THE ABS IN MY VEHICLE FAILED WITHOUT WARNING OR PRODUCING AN ERROR CODE. OTHER OWNERS THAT I HAVE SPOKEN WITH HAVE TOLD ME OF HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS. BUT THE MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN OF NO HELP. I WOULD BE CONTENT TO KNOW HOW TO DISABLE THE SYSTEM IN ORDER TO PREVENT FUTURE INCIDENT, BUT NO ONE WILL VOLUNTEER THIS INFORMATION BECAUSE IT IS "SAFETY" EQUIPMENT. I CAN NOT, IN GOOD CONSCIENCE, SELL THIS VEHICLE. HOWEVER I AM VERY UNCOMFORTABLE DRIVING IT, KNOWING THAT I WILL EVENTUALLY HAVE ANOTHER ACCIDENT WITH IT BECAUSE THERE IS NO ANSWER AS TO WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE ABS. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW THE MANUFACTURER CAN INSTALL EQUIPMENT OF THIS TYPE WITHOUT A FAIL-SAFE THAT WILL BYPASS THE ABS IN THE EVENT OF AN EQUIPMENT MALFUNCTION. *AK
