WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKES THERE IS A LOUD STREAKING NOISE COMING FROM THE WHEEL. THE DEALERSHIP IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. MR

ON ALL THREE OCCASIONS WHEN REAR BRAKES WERE ADJUSTED THEY HAD CAUSED BRAKES TO BURN UP. *AK
ABS SYSTEM DID NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY. THE LIGHT ON THE DASH CAME ON AND STAYED LIT. THE VEHICLE STILL STOPPED AT SIGNS AND LIGHTS HOWEVER ITS ABILITIES WERE IMPAIRED AND TOOK LONGER.

WHEN DRIVING AT ANY SPEED AND APPLYING THE BRAKES, BRAKE PEDAL IS GOING HALF WAY TO THE FLOORBOARD,AND THE ABS LIGHT IS ON. *AK
APPLIED BRAKES HARD IN BOTH INSTANCES TO AVOID COLLISION . THE INSTANCE IN 98 IT WAS RAINING BUT THE TRUCK SHOULD HAVE SLOWED FASTER . IT WAS AS IF II HADN'T APPIED THE BRAKES BUT A LITTLE . BUT I WAS PRESSING HARD . IN THE OCCURANCE IN 99 I WAS IN A CONSTRUCTION ZONE . THERE WAS A LITTLE LOOSE PAVEMENT MATERIAL ON THE ROAD , AS THEY WERE CUTTING OUT PAVEMENT 100 YARDS UP THE ROAD .I APPLIED THE BRAKES IN A FAST STOP AS THE TRAFFIC HAD STOPPED IN FRONT OF ME . AND THE TRUCK DID NOT STOP AS FAST AS IT SHOULD OF . I WAS PRESSING THE BRAKES HARD , BUT THE TRUCK WASN'T STOPPING AS IT SHOULD HAVE . IN BOTH INSTANCES THE PEDAL WAS HARD . IT DID NOT GO TO THE FLOOR .
WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH THE CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE BRAKE'S NOT WORKING. CONSUMER RAN A RED LIGHT AND THEN REAR ENDED THE VEHICLE IN FRONT, AND VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP. *AK
ANTI LOCK BRAKES FAILED RESULTING IN VEHICLE COLLISION, RECALL ON ABS SYSTEM HOWEVER CONSUMER WAS NOT NOTIFIED.
THE ABS IN MY VEHICLE FAILED WITHOUT WARNING OR PRODUCING AN ERROR CODE. OTHER OWNERS THAT I HAVE SPOKEN WITH HAVE TOLD ME OF HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS. BUT THE MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN OF NO HELP. I WOULD BE CONTENT TO KNOW HOW TO DISABLE THE SYSTEM IN ORDER TO PREVENT FUTURE INCIDENT, BUT NO ONE WILL VOLUNTEER THIS INFORMATION BECAUSE IT IS "SAFETY" EQUIPMENT. I CAN NOT, IN GOOD CONSCIENCE, SELL THIS VEHICLE. HOWEVER I AM VERY UNCOMFORTABLE DRIVING IT, KNOWING THAT I WILL EVENTUALLY HAVE ANOTHER ACCIDENT WITH IT BECAUSE THERE IS NO ANSWER AS TO WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE ABS. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW THE MANUFACTURER CAN INSTALL EQUIPMENT OF THIS TYPE WITHOUT A FAIL-SAFE THAT WILL BYPASS THE ABS IN THE EVENT OF AN EQUIPMENT MALFUNCTION. *AK

WHILE DRIVING AT APPROX 10MPH EXITED AT A DRIVEWAY, WENT TO APPLY BRAKES, VEHICLE DID NOT STOP. BRAKES MADE NOISE, PUSHED BRAKES TO FLOOR. JUST REDONE IN MAY 97 WITH PADS AND SHOES. WEATHER WAS CLEAR DRY, HAS TO APPLY BRAKES SOONER THAN USUSAL. THIS DEFECT CAN RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT. *AK DEALER TOLD CONSUMER THAT THIS IS HAPPENING BECAUSE HE IS NOT USED TO ABS AND HE NEEDS TO GET USED TO THE WAY THEY WORK, ABS LIGHT IS ILLUMINATED AND WILL NOT GO OFF, REGULAR BRAKES SEEM TO WORK FINE, CONSUMER HAS HAD 3 MINOR ACCIDENTS DUE TO THE FAULTY ABS, ONLY 1 OF THE ACCIDENTS CAUSED DAMAGE TO ANOTHER VEHICLE. *SLC
