THE VEHICLE WAS IMMEDIATELY TAKEN TO THE CLOSEST DEALER WHERE THE COOLANT WAS FLUSHED AND REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CYLINDER HEAD WAS LEAKING COOLANT AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 155,000.

WAS PICKING UP MY CHILDREN FROM SUMMER SCHOOL AND HAD THE AIR CONDITIONER ON. I FELT THE COOL AIR HITTING ME BUT STILL FELT SOME HEAT...I THOUGHT IT WAS THE SUN HITTING ME THROUGH THE FRONT WINDSHIELD. MY SON COMPLAINED THAT HE WAS HOT AND THERE WAS HOT AIR HITTING HIM. I REACHED OVER AND FELT THE AIR COMING OUT OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AND IT WAS EXTREMELY HOT!!! IF MY SON WOULD OF BEEN SITTING ON THE FRONT SEAT HE COULD HAVE GOTTEN BURNED BY THE HOT AIR! I PULLED OVER AND TRIED CLOSING THE VENTS AND TURNED OFF THE A/C BUT HOT AIR STILL CAME THROUGH THE VENTS. THIS IS DANGEROUS, IF ELDERLY PEOPLE OR PEOPLE WITH SENSITIVE SKIN ARE SITTING IN THE FRONT AND THE A/C IS ON AND ALL OF A SUDDEN IT STARTS BLOWING SUPER HOT AIR A PERSON CAN GET BURNED!!! THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR BAG CLOCK SPRING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE APPROXIMATELY FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 96,000. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HARNESS AND RESISTOR FAN FOR THE AIR CONDITION WERE REPLACED THREE TIMES, AS IT CONTINUED TO BURN OUT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RESISTOR FAN CAUGHT ON FIRE AND SMOKE WAS SEEN COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REPAIR WAS $100 EACH TIME THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED WHO ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE BE TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR A FEE OF $89 FOR THEM TO INSPECT AND REPLACE THE PARTS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 89,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. IN ADDITION, THE SPEEDOMETER MALFUNCTIONED AND WHILE PARKED, THE SPEEDOMETER INDICATED THAT THE CONTACT WAS TRAVELING 90 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY THE DEALER AND THEY ADVISED HIM THAT THE HEAD WAS FRACTURED AND THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WOULD NEED REPLACING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 85,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

THE CONTACT NOTICED BRAKE FLUID DRAINING FROM UNDER THE DRIVER SEAT. THE BRAKE LINE RUPTURED. WHENEVER THE AIR CONDITIONER WAS TURNED ON, IT BLEW HOT AIR ON THE DRIVER SIDE AND COLD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE CONTACT HAD TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON TO RESET THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP BUT HAD NOT BEEN INSPECTED. THE VEHICLE HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR A BRAKE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS DUE TO A LACK OF MAINTENANCE ON HIS PART. NEITHER THE MANUFACTURER NOR THE DEALER HAD BEEN NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 120,000.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MOTOR WAS CRACKED WHICH CAUSED OIL AND ANTIFREEZE TO COMBINE AND EMIT THROUGH THE EXHAUST PIPE. THE HEAT FAILED TO OPERATE NORMALLY AND THE CONTACT OBSERVED THAT APPROXIMATELY ONE GALLON OF ANTIFREEZE AND 2 QUARTS OF OIL LEAKED OUT OF THE VEHICLE. THE IDENTICAL FAILURE OCCURRED PREVIOUSLY. A LOCAL MECHANIC CONFIRMED THAT THE ENGINE WAS CRACKED BETWEEN CYLINDER 3 AND CYLINDER 5 AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED HER TO HAVE THE VEHICLE INSPECTED BY AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ALTHOUGH HER WARRANTY WAS NOT VALID FOR THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. UPON RESTARTING THE VEHICLE IT MADE A HUMMING NOISE. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE ENGINE REMAINED ON EVEN UPON REMOVAL OF THE ELECTRICAL FUSE. HE ALSO STATED THAT HE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO MAKE THE NECESSARY REPAIRS AND TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE FOLLOWING WEEK. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 95,200.

DT: THE VEHICLE IS A 2004 GM CHEVROLET K1500 Z71 EXTEND CAB 4X4. ANTI LOCK BRAKES WERE DEFECTIVE. WHEN CONSUMER APPLIED PRESSURE TO THE ABS THEY DID NOT HOLD. ON 2-11-05 HE TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER TO BE REPAIRED, AND THEY DID NOTHING TO FIX THE ISSUE. WHILE DRIVING ON 6-23/24-05 THE ABS DID NOT HOLD , CAUSING CONSUMER'S VEHICLE TO LIGHTLY BUMP ANOTHER VEHICLE. WHEN CONSUMER CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER THEY TOLD HIM TO TAKE IT TO CITY CHEVROLET. HE TOOK IT TO THEM ON 7-5-05 ,AND HE STILL HAS NOT GOTTEN IT BACK YET. CONSUMER FOUND THAT THERE WAS A RECALL IN NOVEMBER . 2004 IN CANADA CONCERNING CORROSION IN THE ABS BRAKES. THE VEHICLE HE OWNED WAS MANUFACTURED BY GENERAL MOTORS IN CANADA LTD.. *AK THERE IS A SPECIAL ORDER PART THAT WAS NOT IMMEDIATELY AVAILABLE IN DEALER INVENTORY FOR THE INOPERATIVE BRAKES.
