Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while attempting to trade the vehicle, it was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 91,000 and at the time of registration, it was discovered that the mileage was 250,000.

The Keyless Entry Receiver(GM) Radio Module in my 2007 Chevy Silverado is retaining moisture. It caused my Tire Pressure Monitoring System to fail eventually causing a blow out on the highway. I believe moisture from the third headlight above rear window is allowing moisture to drip into the Keyless Entry Receiver. There are many accounts of this failing, I’m not sure why this has not been recalled. I nearly died.

Power surges sometime everything shuts off while driving leaving no brakes, steering, or acceleration. Other times there is a no start due to no power or the instrument cluster goes haywire. Reacquiring problem with no answers why. Others have had the same problem. Scary driving fine at 60 with kids in the back and all of a sudden you lose control of your truck unexpectedly for the first time. No Warnings or OBD2 codes.

My vehicle will just start up sometimes on its own with or without key in ignition, as well as set alarm off. Also, it constantly feels like the brakes are on at all times. It feels like it drags alot. And it feels like it doesn't properly have enough power when accelerating.

After buying this used truck from GM certified dealership having advanced inspection before we took home 3 months in First start of the day about 7AM, 5-10min into driving, no MIL light, truck engine shut off hard to pull over and I tried to restart but wouldn't start. After waiting an hour for a tow truck I tried once more and it fired up. Cancelled tow drove home fine. But it did it a few more random times while driving until Oct. now it sits. Its scary when theres no MIL indicating a problem, but this is a problem and safety during travel. It wont start after 7 month ownership ,MIL light is now on saying U0100. Bought 4/2021.

2007 Silverado 1500. Has had a situation where truck acts a dead battery or no battery in the truck. Conditions are no start, key fob will remote start truck then truck dies all electrical in truck works. Have dad CD player shoveling cds when no key in truck. Air and heat switch’s back and forth. Door locks cycle up and down. Have to reset radio and clock after the power failed. This is not from a dead battery. All I do to reset it all is to put a battery booster to battery terminals and switch booster on and off. Truck is back to normal. Most recent advent was all this at 1 time. Door locks cycle, radio turns on and off, ac changes to heat, low fuel and seat belt alarms start sounding, instrument cluster act irrationally, speed odometer goes from 20 to60 back and forth with truck cutting off at 20 and powering to 60. After several miles of driving everything is back to normal and I drive straight to my mechanic. Cut the truck off and Bingo, acts like there is not a battery in the truck. Nothing at all electrical. Total silence. I have had minor electrical since truck was almost new. I always carry a booster pack and it worked to start truck and get me home. Now for what my mechanic found after my last disaster. There is a high amperage fuse block located under your fuse box in the engine bay. There is 2 threaded studs for wires that feed your trucks electrical. Studs had never had ant nuts on them to hold the wires secure and after 14 years of total aggravation and fear of an accident or fire. I hope truck is fixed for good. GM dealers would blow me off with any excuse why they couldn’t find a problem. They wanted to sell batteries , Pcms and ecms. The reason this becomes a safety problem is a chance of total power failing while in traffic being rear ended or worse. There really should be a recall for these trucks and checked. I’ve read hundreds of remarks from people with these same issues. I hope this helps. I am thankful to have a mechanic who will research.

I HAVE HAD AN ISSUE WITH MY 2007 CHEVY SILVERADO JERKING WITH A HARD THUMP WHILE ACCELERATING. AT FIRST IT WAS DIAGNOSES AS A FAULTY THROTTLE BODY. REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY. NOW IT INTERMITTENTLY PULLS HARD WHEN ACCELERATING AT ANY SPEED. THIS CANNOT BE SAFE. DEALERSHIPS CANNOT FIGURE OUT THE ISSUE AND I AM HAVING TROUBLE GOOGLING ANY SPECIFIC REASON. MANY PEOPLE HAVE THIS SAME ISSUE WITH LITTLE TO RESOLUTION. THIS IS INTERMITTENTLY SO IT THE STABILITRAC AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS COME ON AND OFF WITHIN MINUTES. IT WAS HAPPENING A FEW TIMES A WEEKS AND NOW IT IS HAPPENING A FEW TIMES A DAY. THIS CANNOT BE GOOD FOR THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE ON THE ROAD OR THE PEOPLE IN IT.

TOOK IT TO A CHEVY DEALER AND WAS PLACED ON THE DIAGNOSTIC COMPUTER AND I WAS TOLD CODES FOUND WERE PO174 AND PO171. SMOKE TEST WAS PERFORMED ON EVAP SYSTEM AND INDUCTION SYSTEM. FOUND LEAKS AT THE PCV HOSE, PURGE VALVE HOSES AND PURGE VALVE IS STUCK OPEN. THESE WERE REMOVED AND REPLACED BOTH PURGE VALVE HOSES, PURGE VALVE AND PCV HOSE. $523.80 LATER THE PROBLEM IS STILL NOT FIXED.

1. MY TAKATA INFLATOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED ON MY 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO AND, IS A RECALL ITEM, AND GENERAL MOTORS IS USING DELAYING TACTICS RATHER THAN REPLACING THE DEFECTIVE PART(S). THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. NOW MY AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON AND AFTER LOOKING AT THE RECALL LIST AND DESCRIPTION IT SAYS: SAFETY RISK: THE PROPELLANT IN SOME TYPES OF TAKATA AIRBAG INFLATORS CAN DEGRADE OVER TIME, ESPECIALLY AFTER LONG TERM EXPOSURE IN HOT AND HUMID REGIONS. IF THE PROPELLANT DEGRADES TO A CERTAIN LEVEL, THE INFLATORS MAY RUPTURE DURING DEPLOYMENT, CAUSING SERIOUS OR FATAL INJURIES. FUEL PUMP WAS NEW 2/10/13. THEY REPLACED THE FUEL CONTROL MODULE 4/18/2013. CONNECTIONS WERE CLEANED AND RESET. THIS ALL WORKED FINE UNTIL 3/12/2014. SAME SITUATIONS STARTED AGAIN. BUT AS BEFORE IT WOULD ALWAYS EVENTUALLY START. SAME DIAGNOSIS, FUEL CONTROL MODULE AND A SOME OTHER EXPENSIVE STUFF. 3 WEEKS AGO IT DIDN'T START, WOULD GRIND WITH NO FIRE. FUEL PUMP ISN'T GETTING POWER. I'M DEAD IN THE WATER. ONE OF MY SONS WORKS AS A CARPENTER, WELDER AND SHIPPING SPECIALIST FOR A CLASSIFIED GOVERNMENT FACILITY. THIS FACILITY HAS TOP NOTCH MECHANICS TO DO ALL THEIR MAINTENANCE INCLUDING AUTOS, GOING OUTSIDE OF THE FACILITY IS NOT AN OPTION. THESE MECHANICS HAVE 7 CHEVY 1500S OF VARIOUS YEARS THEY HAVE TO KEEP RUNNING. THEY'VE OFFERED THAT ALL OF THEIR TRUCKS HAD THE SAME ISSUES AS MINE AT ONE TIME. FOR THE FIRST 2 THEY DID THE MODULE REPLACEMENT STUFF JUST LIKE I DID. JUST LIKE MINE THOSE FIXES WENT SOUTH AGAIN. WHAT THEY DID THEN WAS TO CHANGE OUT THE ENTIRE IGNITION MODULE WITH AN IMPROVED VERSION. THEY'VE DONE IT FOR ALL 7 VEHICLES AS THE ISSUES OCCURRED, ALL ARE NOW WORKING WELL, SOME FOR YEARS. HE WAS PR0NOUNCE DEAD @ 1730 HOUR. THE CAUSE OF THE ACCIDENT HAS NOT BEEN DETERMINED, YET THE REPORT WILL SHOW THAT HE WAS TRAVELING ON A DOWN HILL SLOPE WHERE HE SWERVED OFF THE PAVEMENT TO THE RIGHT AND THEN OVER CORRECTED BACK ON TO AND CROSSED THE PAVEMENT ON THE LEFT AND THEN BACK ACROSS THE HI WAY ON THE RIGHT IMPACTING A BRIDGE EMBANKMENT OVER TURNING OVER HITTING A TREE, RESTING RIGHT SIDE UP. HIS AIR BAG NEVER DEPLOYED. WE WERE TOLD THERE WAS NOT ANY THING WRONG WITH THE AIRBAGS MECHANISM, FURTHER THAT THE CRASH WAS NOT HEAD ON. THIS VEHICLE IS TOTALLY DESTROYED. I HAVE IT IN STORAGE FOR ANY ONE INSPECTION. MY BROTHER WAS NOT EJECTED FROM THE VEHICLE, I DO BELIEVE, SHOULD THE BAGS HAD DEPLOYED, MY BROTHER WOULD BE ALIVE TODAY. WHEN DRIVING THE TRUCK THE LIGHTS WOULD DIM AND THEN HAVE A LOSS OF POWER. DIDN'T THINK MUCH OF IT UNTIL ONE DAY GETTING OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND SHUTTING IT OFF I WENT TO PUT THE KEY BACK IN THE IGNITION AND THERE WAS NO POWER WHAT SO EVER NO DOME LIGHTS NOTHING... NO CLICKS NO DASH LIGHTS NOTHING. THEN HAD SOMEONE JUMP ME POWER AND TRUCK STARTED RIGHT AWAY. SAME DAY HAD MY BATTERY CHECKED AND ALTERNATOR AND EVERYTHING CAME OUT FINE NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT. HAPPENED AGAIN ABOUT A WEEK LATER BUT THIS TIME TRUCK HESITATED WHEN KEY WAS TURNED THEN IT DID NOT START RESET THE CLOCK IN THE TRUCK AND THEN HAD LIGHTS DIMMING EVERYTIME BLINKERS WERE TURNED ON. WHILE LISTENING TO THE RADIO, WHILE TRUCK WAS OFF, THROUGH AUXILIARY INPUT, THE TRUCK SUDDENLY CUT OFF. I LOST ALL POWER TO POWER STEERING, POWER WINDOWS, LIGHTS, DASH WOULD NOT INDICATE WHAT GEAR THE TRUCK WAS IN, AND OF COURSE TRUCK WOULD NOT START. HAD TO HAVE TRUCK TOWED TO DEALERSHIP, WHICH THEY FOUND THE BCM HAD GONE OUT. THE DEALERSHIP FOUND THAT THERE WAS NO VOLTAGE SURGE AND NO REASON FOR THE FAILURE. A NEW BCM WAS PLACED IN THE TRUCK AT A 600$ EXPENSE TO MY SELF, AND THE TRUCK IS FINE NOW. THIS PROBLEM PERTAINS TO A 2007 CHEVY SILVERADO. THE BLOWER MOTORSHUT OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I SAW SMOKE COME OUT FROM UNDER THE DASHBOARD BY THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE CONNECTOR THAT WAS ATTACHED TO THE RESISTOR FOR THE BLOWER MOTOR WAS MELTING DUE TO EXTREME HEAT. THE BLACK WIRE WAS GLOWING BRIGHT RED AND WAS MELTING THE PLASTIC ON THE CONNECTOR. AFTER A PHONE CALL TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE TRUCK WAS PURCHASED, I FOUND OUT THAT CHEVY ALREADY NEW ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND THAT THEY HAD SEEN IT MANY TIMES. THE PARTS TO REPAIR IT WERE IN STOCK, THEY WERE PURCHASED AND REPLACED. THE FAN AND A/C ARE NOW WORKING. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE AND I HAVE TO PAY EACH TIME. MY SON WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY IN TEXAS WHEN THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN AND THE CAR STOPPED RUNNING. HE LOST ALL POWER STEERING AND COULD BARELY GET OFF THE ROAD IN TIME. THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE NEAREST TOWN IN GAINESVILLE. THE DIAGNOSIS WAS THE SENDING UNIT FAILED AND IN TURN CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE FUEL PUMP THAT MADE IT INOPERABLE. MY CONCERN IS THAT THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT OR ANY KIND OF INDICATION THAT THIS PROBLEM WAS ABOUT TO OCCUR. THERE WAS NO WAY TO PREVENT THIS. THE FUEL LEVEL READ THAT THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN 1/4 TO 1/2 TANK OF GAS BUT THE MECHANIC MEASURED 1/8 - 1/4. I'M NOT SURE IF THE GAS LEVEL ATTRIBUTED TO THE SHUT DOWN OR NOT. THAT IS SOMETHING THAT I'M SURE WILL BE FACTORED IN TO YOUR INVESTIGATION. I FEEL LIKE THIS WAS A DEFINITE OPPORTUNITY FOR ME TO SPEAK UP AND TAKE ACTION. MY SON WAS SPARED FROM INJURY OR DEATH AND THERE NEEDS TO BE A SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM TO AVOID THESE IRREVERSIBLE CONSEQUENCES. WHETHER IT BE AN INDICATOR LIGHT OR BETTER YET REDESIGN OF THE SYSTEMS SO THAT THEY CANNOT SHUT DOWN THE CAR AUTOMATICALLY. REMEMBER HE WAS DRIVING 60 MILES AND HOUR ON AN EXTREMELY BUSY HIGHWAY, THE OUTCOME COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN VERY GRIM, ESPECIALLY HAD IT OCCURRED AT NIGHT. I MAY HAVE BEEN PLANNING A FUNERAL INSTEAD NOTIFYING PEOPLE HOW TO AVOID ONE. TURN ON THE RADIO, WHICH IS IN A NAVIGATION SYSTEM. CRACKLING SOUNDS BEGIN TO BE HEARD THROUGH THE BOSE SPEAKERS AFTER A FEW MINUTES AND CONTINUE EVEN AFTER RADIO IS TURNED OFF. SOUND DOES NOT STOP UNTIL KEY IS IN THE OFF POSITION AND I EXIT THE VEHICLE. THE PROBLEM STARTED INFREQUENTLY, BUT NOW OCCURS EVERY TIME I TURN ON THE RADIO OR NAVIGATION SYSTEM. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHILE IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY, BUT THEY STATED NO "CODES" WERE SHOWING ON THE COMPUTER. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET AND SPEAKING TO MECHANICS, I FOUND THAT THE RADIO IS NOT CONNECTED TO THE COMPUTER SYSTEM, BUT IS INDEPENDENT. I HAVE A 2007 CHEVY SILVERADO CLASSIC THAT HAS ONLY 52890 MILES ON IT AND THE AC WENT OUT. MY FIANCE SAID SHE NOTICED AN ODOR OF ELECTRICAL FIRE OR BURNING WHEN THE AC STOPPED. THERE ARE A FEW WEBSITES THAT SELL A NEW RELAY AND HARNESS THAT RANGE FROM ONLY $75 UPTO $160, BUT THIS IN NOT A FULL HARNESS AND CUTTING AND SPLICING NEEDS TO BE DONE. WIRES UNDERNEATH DASH OF MY 2007 SILVERADO CREW CAB CAUGHT ON FIRE ON 10/28/08. SMOKE CAME POURING OUT OF THE DASH. CALLED DEALER AND HAD THEM TOW VEHICLE TO JOHN MEGAL CHEVY IN DAWSONVILLE, GA. TORE DASH APART ONLY TO CLAIM THAT THE INSTALLATION OF AN AFTER MARKET BRAKE SYSTEM CAUSED THE FIRE. WOULD NOT COVER REPAIR UNDER WARRANTY. HAD TO PAY $376.95 BEFORE THEY WOULD LET US MOVE THE TRUCK TO THE OTHER MECHANIC THAT INSTALLED THE BRAKE SYSTEM. AFTER MECHANIC THAT INSTALLED IT REVIEWED THE TRUCK, CLAIMED THAT IS SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. CLAIMS BRAKE SYSTEM WAS INSTALLED CORRECTLY. I SPOKE WITH 2 MORE INDEPENDENT TRAILER DEALERS AND THEY CONFIRMED IT WAS INSTALLED PROPERLY. JOHN MEGEL CHEVY WOULD NOT COVER UNDER WARRANTY EVEN AFTER OUR RESEARCH AND OTHER PROFESSIONALS CONFIRMED. WE HAD TO PAY $1300 TO HAVE ALL WIRING REPLACED, $300 IN TRUCK RENTALS, $376.95 TO JOHN MEGEL. WE ARE OUT $2000 FOR SOMETHING THAT GM SHOULD HAVE HANDLED. ONSTAR CUSTOMER SERVICE RESPONDED WITH AN INDICATION OF A FRONT END CRASH; HOWEVER, THERE WAS NO CRASH AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND REMAINED LIT UNTIL THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND THEY STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO CORROSION IN THE WIRING SYSTEM. THE PARTS FOR THE REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE AND THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE VIN AND MILEAGES WERE UNKNOWN.

MY TRUCK WILL NOT START ALL THE TIME. 60 DAYS AFTER PURCHASING NEW TRUCK I STARTED HAVING MANY DEAD BATTERIES. I WAS RECEIVING EMAILS FROM ONSTAR AT SAME TIME TELLING ME THEY HAD DIAGNOSED MY TRUCK THE PRECEDING NIGHT. I ADVISED ONSTAR TO STAY OUT OF MY TRUCK BECAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. ABOUT 5 MONTHS LATER (NOVEMBER 2008) I STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS AGAIN. I HAD ANOTHER DEAD BATTERY. LATEST HAPPENED 1/16/2009 TRUCK WOULD NOT START BUT BATTERY WAS FULLY CHARGED. I HAD TRUCK TAKEN TO DEALER. DEALER GOT IT STARTED AND SAID THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THEY DID NOT FIX ANYTHING. I PICK UP TRUCK 1/20/2009. 1/21/2009 I STARTED TRUCK WITH MY REMOTE, GOT IN TRUCK, INSERTED KEY AND THEN TURNED OFF MOTOR. I TRIED TO START IT AGAIN AND TRUCK WOULD NOT START. I WAITED AN HOUR AND TRIED TRUCK AGAIN. THE TRUCK STARTED. I DROVE IT IMMEDIATELY TO A DIFFERENT DEALER. GM CALLED ME 1/23/2009 AND SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND ANY PROBLEM WITH MY TRUCK. I BOUGHT MY 2007 SILVERADO ON JULY 27,2006 I BEGAN HAVING ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS NO MORE THAN TWO WEEKS LATER IT WENT IN THE SHOP AUGUST 08,2006 FOR WINDSHIELD WIPERS MALFUNCTIONING THE DEALER REPLACED THE WIPER MODULE A COUPLE MONTHS LATER OCTOBER 10,2006 WIPERS WERE DOING THE SAME THEY AGAIN REPLACED THE MODULE AND MOTORS OK THAT'S FIXED,THEN MY BRAKES WERE LOCKING UP AND WOULD DRAG WHEN I WOULD STOP EVEN AT SPEEDS OF 5-10 MPH AND ALSO STAY LOCKED AFTER TAKING OFF FROM A STOP AND ALSO WAS PULLING LEFT THEN RIGHT WHEN BRAKES WERE APPLIED THEY HAD TO CHANGE THE BRAKE PADS AND RESURFACE THE ROTORS. MARCH 26, 2007( I HAD MY RADIO BURN UP A CD AND LIGHTS IN RADIO BURN OUT THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE STEREO AND THE BACK LIGHTS ON MY STEREO CONTROL BUTTONS AND OTHER BUTTONS ON STEERING WHEEL BURNT OUT THEY CHANGED THOSE. THEN MY ACCESSORY OUTLET KEEPS BURNING OUT ANY TIME I PLUG ANYTHING IN IT BLOWS A FUSE, MY SPEEDOMETER CLUSTER LIGHTS BURNT OUT THEY HAD TO REPLACE THAT) JUNE 28, 2007 BACK IN THE SHOP FOR A KNOCKING NOISE IN STEERING SHAFT THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE STEERING SHAFT. MAY 05, 2008 STEERING WHEEL LIGHTS BURNT OUT AGAIN THEY REPLACED THE BUTTONS AGAIN. THEN AUGUST 31,2008 MY FAMILY AND I WERE LEAVING TOWN DUE TO A MANDATORY EVACUATION AND I WAS PULLING MY TRAILER WHEN I TOOK THE RAMP TO GET OFF THE INTERSTATE I HAD NO TROUBLE STOPPING AT THE STOP SIGN BUT WHEN I WENT TO CROSS INTO THE MEDIAN AT NO MORE THAN 5-10 MPH I HAD NO BRAKES AND WAS PUSHED INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC WHICH RESULTED IN A CRASH I BOUGHT NEW TIRES IN JULY 2008 AND YOU CAN TELL THAT THEY ARE BEING TORN UP BY THE BRAKES I JUST GOT MY TRUCK BACK FROM THE SHOP AND NOTICED THE REAR BRAKES ARE LOCKING UP AGAIN AND DRAGGING THROUGH TURNS EVEN WITH NO BRAKES APPLIED AT 5-10 MPH DOES THIS SEEM LIKE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. *TR

ANY TIME IT IS NOT SUNNY OUT PRESENTS A HAZARD AS THE GAUGE CANNOT BE READ AT A GLANCE. THE DARK RED NEEDLE ON A BLACK BACKGROUND DOES NOT SHOW UP AND IS A DEFINITE HAZARD TO THE DRIVER. I HAVE A NEW CHEVY SILVERADO WITH 3000 MILES ON IT. WHEN I STARTED IT TODAY THE NAV/RADIO SCREEN DID NOT COME ON AT FIRST. IT REMAINED BLACK. IT FINALLY CAME ON AND I HEADED FOR WORK. BETWEEN 5 + 10 MILES IN THE DRIVE THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHUT DOWN FOR A INSTANCE (EVERYTHING WENT BLACK). THE ENGINE STAYED ON BUT THE TRUCK STOPPED FOR THAT INSTANCE. I WOULD GUESS SINCE THE TRANS IS ELECTRICAL WAS THE REASON THE TRUCK STOPPED WHEN THE ELECTRICAL WENT OUT. THIS OCCURRED 3-4 TIMES SO I HEADED STRAIGHT FOR THE DEALER. THE NAV SYSTEM ALSO WENT OUT SEVERAL TIMES WITH OUT THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL GOING OUT. IT DID NOT OCCUR AGAIN ON THE WAY TO THE DEALER, POSSIBLY SINCE IT WAS WARMED UP. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS EVER CAME ON. HAVE YOU SEEN THIS BEFORE OR HAVE A CLUE WHAT COULD CAUSE THIS? THE DEALER IS SAYING THEY COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THIS INTERMITTENT PROBLEM. I SUGGESTED TO LEAVE IT OVERNIGHT AND SEE IF THEY CAN EXPERIENCE THE PROBLEM WHEN THE TRUCK IS COLD. THEY AGREED. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE DIGITAL SCREEN MODULE DISPLAYED A MALFUNCTION MESSAGE AND THE STEERING AND BRAKES LOCKED FOR APPROXIMATELY 5 SECONDS. THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING AND THE CONTACT PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. HE CALLED THE DEALER AND WAS ADVISED NOT TO TURN OFF THE VEHICLE, BUT INSTEAD DRIVE DIRECTLY TO THE DEALER. THE WEATHER WAS NOT A FACTOR. AFTER NUMEROUS VISITS TO THE DEALER, THEY STATED THAT THE HYBRID BATTERY AND ENGINE FAILED. THE HYBRID CONTROL MODULE WAS REPLACED AND THE DEALER REPAIRED THE HYBRID OPEN FUSE MODULE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 23,500 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 345.

THIS PROBLEM PERTAINS TO A 2005 CHEVY SILVERADO. THE VENT FAN / AIR CONDITIONING SHUT OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I STARTED TO SEE SMOKE COME OUT FROM UNDER THE DASHBOARD BY THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE CONNECTOR THAT WAS ATTACHED TO THE RESISTOR FOR THE A/C AND HEATER WAS MELTING DUE TO EXTREME HEAT. THE BLACK WIRE WAS GLOWING BRIGHT RED AND WAS MELTING THE PLASTIC ON THE CONNECTOR. AFTER A PHONE CALL TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE TRUCK WAS PURCHASED, I FOUND OUT THAT CHEVY ALREADY NEW ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND THAT THEY HAD SEEN IT MANY TIMES. THE PARTS TO REPAIR IT WERE IN STOCK, THEY WERE PURCHASED AND REPLACED. THE FAN AND A/C ARE NOW WORKING. *JB

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SPEEDOMETER IS POSITIONED SO LOW WITHIN THE DASHBOARD THAT IT CANNOT BE SEEN. THE SPEEDOMETER DOES NOT ILLUMINATE, WHICH FURTHER PREVENTS IT FROM BEING SEEN. THE FAILURE WAS NOTICED WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY THE MANUFACTURER THAT A ZONE MANAGER WOULD CALL. THE ZONE MANAGER STATED THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE. THE PURCHASE DATE WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 2,500 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100.
