MY FRAME RAIL ON THE DRIVERS SIDE IS CORRODING AWAY TO THE POINT WHERE IT IS NO LONGER SAFE TO DRIVE / I HAVE BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO THE GM DEALERSHIP TO VERIFY THE CONCERN / I HAVE CONTACTED GENERAL MOTORS ABOUT THIS CONCERN AND WAS GIVEN THE RUN AROUND / I HAVE A VEHICLE THAT HAS COSTED MY TIME AND MONEY TO PURCHASE / AND MAINTAIN / THIS TRUCK RUNS GREAT AND SHOULD BE CAPABLE OF LASTING MANY MORE YEARS - EXCEPT FOR THE FACT THAT THE FRAME RAIL IS CORRODING AWAY IN THE SAME SPOT ON THIS TRUCK AS ON OTHER GM TRUCKS FROM THIS YEAR AND MODEL RANGE . I BELIEVE GM DESIGNED A FAULTY FRAME/ I BELEIVE THE FRAMES ON THESE TRUCKS WERE NEVER TREATED TO RESIST THE ELEMENTS /
The frame on driver side of the truck is completely rusted threw and cracked. extreme amounts of rust on the frame i have read thousands upon thousands of reviews related to the 07-13 Chevy Silverado. im just once small voice in many please hold them accountable for this just like toyota!!!
I had the Takata airbag on the passenger side replaced as per your warning (NHTSA). My dash board was intact and had no cracks at the time of the repair. After the repair my dash board was completely destroyed. Dealer informed me it was not their responsiblity and caused no safety issues. Now I am concerned that if the airbag is deployed that the dash board will deploy with it, injuring the driver and passenger. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE and GM knows this.
While replacing the faulty Takata air bag on my 2007 Chevrolet Siverado the dealer Autonation Chevrolet Arrowhead 9055 W. Bell Rd. Peoria, AZ they completely destroyed my dashboard. The dealer saying it was no fault of theirs. Now I am worried if the airbags deploy that myself and my passenger will receive serious injuries due the the pastic parts of the dashboard deploying with the airbag

TWO OF WHICH ARE BY THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WHICH CREATES A SAFETY HAZARD MEANING IF THE AIRBAG WERE TO DEPLOY FRAGMENTS OF THE DASH COULD IMPAIR ONE SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT OR OTHERS IN THE VEHICLE. I WOULD LIKE SOMETHING DONE ABOUT THIS ISSUE. I HAVE TALKED WITH MY LOCAL DEALER AND GENERAL MOTORS TWICE ABOUT THIS CONCERN AND NO ACTIONS WERE TAKEN. ALSO THE DASHBOARD HAD A CRACK THAT HAS NOW DEVELOPED IN MISSING PIECES AND EXPOSING THE INSIDE OF THE DASH AND I AM WORRIED IT WILL AFFECT THE INTEGRITY OF THE AIRBAGS. IN DOING RESEARCH I SAW WHERE SEVERAL 2007-2013 CHEVROLET SILVERADOS AND TAHOES HAD BEE RECALLED FOR CRACKING DASHBOARD. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT SHARP PLASTIC FLYING OUT FROM DASH. PHOTO ATTACHED.

THE MENTIONED HAS BEEN RECORDED WITHIN 4 YEARS OF MANUFACTURE DATE AND HAS PROGRESSED TO ITS CURRENT STATE WITH LARGE HOLES DEVELOPING WITH MAJOR CRACKING AND TO THE EXTENT CAUSING SUB ASSEMBLIES SUCH AS THE STEERING COLUMN COVER AND UPPER GLOVE BOX TO DISINTEGRATED AND FALL OFF OF ITS MOUNTING LOCATIONS. THE CONCERN IS THAT UPON DEPLOYMENT OF AIRBAGS, PLASTIC SHARDS CAN BECOME SUB SONIC PROJECTILES CAUSING SEVER INJURY, EVEN DEATH .

IN JULY, 2012 THE DASH IN MY TRUCK CRACKED AROUND THE AIRBAG. I CONTACTED GM WHERE THEY TOLD ME IT WAS MY FAULT AND CLEANING PRODUCTS CAUSED IT. THEY WOULD ONLY COVER THE COST OF THE PART, BUT NOT LABOR WHICH WAS MORE THAN THE COST OF THE PRODUCT. I REFUSED TELLING THEM IT WAS THEIR ISSUE AS THERE ARE LOTS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT IT. IT WAS LATER PROVEN THAT CLEANING PRODUCTS DO NOT CAUSE THE CRACKS. I ASKED GM AGAIN TO REPLACE THE DASH AFTER SEEING PEOPLE HAVE BEEN INJURED FROM PIECES OF THE DASH AFTER AN ACCIDENT. GM STILL CLAIMS THERE IS NO SAFETY ISSUES WITH THE DASH. THAT HAS BEEN PROVEN FALSE AND THERE ARE 10S OF THOUSANDS OF THESE TRUCKS WITH THE ISSUE.

YESTERDAY I WAS DRIVING OVER SOME POT HOLES IN A ROAD AND A BIG CHUNK OF MY DASH CRACKED AND JUMPED OUT ONTO MY DASH. AFTER GETTING HOME, I SEE THERE IS ANOTHER CRACK ON MY DASH. BEFORE CALLING A DEALER, SEARCHED TO FIND OUT WHAT WAS GOING ON. I FOUND THE CRACK AND THE SENSOR WERE RELATED AND OTHER HAVE BEEN HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND NO RECALL YET. WHAT?? THAT CHUNK THAT FLEW OUT IS AS SHARP AS A RAZOR. IT COULD HAVE CUT ME OR LANDED IN MY EYE CAUSING INJURY. HOW CAN I DRIVE THE CAR KNOWING THE WHOLE DASH COULD SHATTER AT ANY TIME? I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO FIX THIS ISSUE. IT SHOULD BE RECALLED AND FIXED BY GM!!

MY DASHBOARD IS CRACKING IN PICES ESPECIALLY WERE THE PASAGER AIR BAG IS LOCATED MY CONCERN IS IF THE AIR BAG IS NEED IT MAYBE GET STOCK OR IF GETS ACTIVATED MY PASAGER CAN GET HURT BY FLYING SHARP PLASTIC PICES PLUS WEN I AM DRIVING I AM GETING DISTRACTED FOR ALL THE MOVING PARTS ON MY DASHBOARD I AM DOING THIS REPORT BECAUSE MY TRUCK IS VERY LOW ON MILES AND I THINK IS A DEFECTIVE PART OF THE BUILDING PROCESS.

DASHBOARD CRACKED/CRACKING IN SEVERAL LOCATIONS. I FIRST NOTICED ABOUT TWO YEARS AGO, BUT DID NOT KNOW OF THIS WEBSITE OR KNOW IT TO BE A NATIONWIDE ISSUE UNTIL READ ON NEWS TO REPORT IF HAPPENING TO A VEHICLE.
I HAVE A 2007 CHEVY SILVERADO QUAD CAB LT(NEW BODY) OVER THE PAST 4 YEARS MY DASH HAS SLOWLY BEGAN TO CRACK IN MULTIPLE PLACES. THE ONE PLACES THAT WORRIES ME THE MOST IS I HAVE A 4 IN CRACK RIGHT ABOUT MY PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. THIS IS VERY WORRISOME TO ME BECAUSE IT MAKES ME WONDER IF THIS WILL CAUSE THE AIRBAG TO DEPLOY PREMATURELY. ALSO THERE IS MULTIPLE CRACKS ON THE DRIVER SIDE SO BAD THAT A PIECE THE SIZE OF A HALF DOLLAR CRACK OFF AND FELL INSIDE MY DASH SOMEWHERE. I HAVE CONTACTED GM ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND WAS TOLD IT WASN'T THERE PROBLEM. SINCE MAKING THIS COMPLAINT I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH WELL OVER 1,000 OTHER GM OWNERS THAT HAVE THE EXACT PROBLEM AND IT DOESN'T JUST AFFECT THE SILVERADO. IT ALSO AFFECTS THE YUKON, AVALANCHE, SIERRA AND TAHOE. I THINK THIS PROBLEM TRULY NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. IT TRULY IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY.
NO CRASH INCIDENT. THE DASHBOARD ON THE VEHICLE HAS CRACKED FOR NO REASON IN MULTIPLE LOCATIONS. ONE RIGHT NEAR THE AIRBAG AND THE SAFETY CONCERN IS THE AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY PROPERLY IN CASE OF COLLISION WHICH COULD LEAD TO SEVERE INJURY. THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THOUSANDS OF GM VEHICLES SUFFERING FROM THE SAME ISSUES. GM IS IGNORING THE PROBLEM AND REFUSING TO COVER REPAIRS BECAUSE NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED. HOW CAN A RECALL BE ISSUED IF THEY ARE DENYING AND COVERING UP THE PROBLEM. PLEASE REMEMBER THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE FIRST AND FOREMOST.
