I bought a truck from Paul Gerber Auto sales, Inc(used car dealer) in Omaha Nebraska. The transmission is bad because of the torque converter and a known issue where the transmission fluid gets too hot causing the torque converter to become damaged. There are also multiple known safety recalls with this vehicle and the issue with the transmission has been confirmed by a independent mechanic. The dealer had me driving it down roads that didn't take the vehicle through all of its gears so the problem wasn't noticed until after I had gotten on to the freeway. Went on the freeway I noticed that it was shifting up hard and downshifting hard as well as a rumble strip effects in the vehicle struggled to get up to speed or was sluggish. When I was clear and tried to pull out into a lane from an intersection the vehicle struggled to get up to speed and I was nearly rear-ended. That's when I took it to have an OBD reading which caused the check engine light to turn on and notice that codes were pending which means that the dealership cleared the codes before the test drive. Please have not been made aware yet but I will be filing a report.
Vehicle is experiencing intermittent electrical issues, including vehicle completely shutting off while driving, driver window security warning message appears, radio, outside temp and fuel economy will reset when starting the truck. Last time it shut down while coming to a stop, a message appeared on the driver information screen saying “3 key programmed to vehicle”. Sometimes before it shuts down while driving, the radio and dash lights go out followed by engine stalling and there are different messages that appear briefly, like, service stabilitrac, roll driver window down & 3 keys programmed. The truck has shut down on me while operating 7 times in the last 3 months! This is EXTREMELY dangerous as i lose power steering & brakes! It has happened while in the middle of a busy intersection, in a round about, pulling into a parking spot, driveway and while driving straight on a road. I have cleaned & checked all ground locations, replaced the battery and alternator, cleaned battery terminals and Cables, checked all the fuses and nothing has made it stop!

I am writing to report a significant mechanical failure with my 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, which I believe warrants further attention due to its potential safety implications and its connection to a widely documented defect affecting many GM vehicles equipped with Active Fuel Management (AFM) systems. The engine suffered lifter and camshaft failure. This is a well-known problem with GM trucks using AFM systems and can pose a safety hazard, particularly if the vehicle stalls while driving. Failed Component: The engine’s valve lifters and camshaft failed. The components and repair documentation are available for inspection upon request. Safety Risk: This failure caused loss of power while driving, creating a risk of stalling in traffic, which could endanger both myself and other drivers on the road. Confirmed Diagnosis: The issue was confirmed by the dealership where I service my truck, Team Chevrolet in Las Vegas, NV. They identified the lifter and camshaft failure as the source of the symptoms. Inspection History: The vehicle has been inspected and diagnosed by the repair facility. I reported my concerns directly to General Motors and formally requested goodwill assistance and an extended warranty to cover the repairs. However, GM denied my goodwill and extended warranty request despite widespread reports and TSBs. Warning Signs: These warning signs began to show June, 2025 after picking it up from the service department at Team Chevrolet as it had been serviced. The truck was taken back to the dealership within 30 minutes of picking it up.

Why is/was there no investigation in to the torque converters in these vehicles? I have the 5.3L V8. Took it to a tranny shop and he has five on his lot, same transmission same generation all same issue. He says they start eating themselves and he has a few with only five digit mileage that he still needs to fix. A guy in my firehouse is a parts manager for a Chevy dealership and knows the part number for the transmission off the top of his head because they fly through them and he has 19 in stock. Luckily I'm a good driver and when the transmission gave out on the highway I was able to control and get over without my kids getting hurt. But that is two shops confirming this is an issue. It's a safety issue. An expensive safety issue. There's even a tranny guy on Facebook that says the same thing because these are mostly all he works on. I'm a bit shocked you all allowed this to pass through. Granted the shop said the American made parts in the torque converters are the ones failing, so it would look bad. But my kids could have been hurt if my wife was driving and couldn't control the truck. This is an epic failure. Five digit mileage trucks coming in for the same issue. He told me to keep up whatever maintenance I'm doing because coming in at 130k is the second highest he has seen.

Over the course of ownership the chassis of this vehicle has gotten horrendously corroded, which has caused structural components of the frame to begin to develop rust holes needing repair. These holes in the chassis are caused by the incorrect application of the factory chassis wax coating and has caused the entire frame to become deeply rusted through in many areas. Additionally I have been through two transmissions, the first occurring at around 55,000 miles of use, and the second around 105,000 miles. Seems there is a point of failure after around 50,000 miles on these transmissions.

While driving on the interstate my truck starting slowing down fast and the engine RPM's went up. I pulled to the side and restarted the truck i would start driving then the truck would do the exact same thing. While all this was happening there was a burning smell in the truck. I brought the truck to an automotive mechanic and the found the transmission was bad. It is a very common problem with 2014 silverado 1500 trucks with the 6 speed transmission.
Transmission slipping
The transmission at less then 150,000 miles grinds and causes a vibration through the steering wheel. It is available for inspection if need be. There was no sign of this failure before it happened. It has made the truck unsafe to operate because of it were to fail it would cause a complete loss of power to the drive shaft, and currently is causing intermittent power loss to the drive shaft. It has been inspected by a local Chevrolet dealership as well as an independent transmission shop that both confirmed the torque converter has begun to fail. The local dealership as well as the transmission shop have both stated they have had a large number of trucks with the same issue come in over the last year. The service manager at the dealership even informed me that there should be a recall put out for the issue. I have even put in a complaint to GM and there was nothing done about the issue. I went back and forth with them for months
Transmission failure. At 140,000 miles, metal flakes in the pan. This could cause an accident and I've done some research and found multiple people with this same issue between 2012 and 2016. Also, a transmission shouldn't be needing to change at this amount of miles. Also, I bought this vehicle used with this problem.
Transmission failure along with over heating an also grounding wire issues dash lights flickering along with headlights, and truck shutting off while driving loosing power steering!!!!

The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the fuel injectors and cylinder #7 needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The OnStar error message was displayed and stated to disregard. The contact used and OBD tool and retrieved DTC code: P0207 (Power Train injector) and P0300 “Power train”; and a random cylinder misfire was detected. The manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact there were no open recalls on the VIN. The failure mileage was approximately 69,000.

ON MARCH 15, 2024 My 2014 Chevrolet silverado LT pickup while I was driving the steering suddenly got hard to steer then the engine shut off , I had very little brakes and steering, then it wouldnt start back after I got stopped. thank goodness I didnt hit anyone, after a few minutes it started and I carefully drove home, it was fine until may 09, 2024 I was going to a DR appointment and when I turned in the drive the steering got really hard and the engine almost died and when I turned it off it wouldnt start back all power was dead after I tried it several times it finally started but the stereo and dash lights were not working correct,I contacted GM and they told me that my truck had been recalled for this problem and they reset the computer module but thats all they were going to do. this didnt fix it and I want them to fix my truck because this is a very serious problem and could cause me to wreak and possibly kill someone or myself. please help me with this matter to get GM to fix it.
The 6L80 is known for there bad parts and going out. The transmissions are braking down on accout of poor craftsmanship and cheap parts. Plus my truck is shutting off and back on while driving which caused me to rear-end another truck and not one air bag deployed and it pushed the other trucks bumper all the way under his tail gate and my front bumper has enough damage that the airbags should've went off

AFM Lifters failure: - During the AFM activation and deactivation the lifters on my truck were observed to be collapsed causing the engine to malfunction. Transmission/Torque converter: Clunking noise when shifting between gears Makies noise when the gear is in neutral Rough shifting “Chevy Shake” - My truuk shakes violently while driving over 35 miles per hour, tires, alignment, etc was been tripple checked and replaced, dealer states it is within spec (even the shacking).
The vehicle is now at 158,109 Mi as of January 5th 2024 at approximately 148,000 to 152,000 Mi I noticed the transmission and or the rear differential starting to slip have play and making various noises and sounds along with a jerking feeling where you would hit the gas and you could see the tachometer wind up a little bit and then when it seems the gears would catch or however it works it would jerk you forward with a bang feeling like somebody hit you from behind but there's no one back there a few times I would hit the gas to leave from a stop and merge into traffic and the vehicle would not move at all until 2 or 3 seconds had passed for the engine and transmission to finally catch up with each other or something I've noticed many recalls and problems on these Transmissions as well as the same issues on a previous Chevy Silverado 2014 I had prior to this one I'm very concerned that at some point I'm going to try and enter a traffic situation and not be able to have forward motion taking a chance on being part of a collision due to the vehicle not moving forward as required when you hit the gas pedal. I've noticed signs of fluid around my rear differential cover I continuously check the fluid in the transmission it is always fine I would like to have it checked out as the engine is an excellent motor with no obvious problems I take care of it changing the oil and Performing maintenance regularly as expected and required.
Going into neutral on its own almost causing a accident and slipping. Yes inspected by service department. No warning
I had been driving for about 45 minutes. When I was driving and hit a speed of 50 mph, it felt like my truck was on a bumpy road and I could hear the banging and feel the hesitation and shakes. Then it felt like I was being hit by another vehicle at low speed. When I slowed down below 50, it seemed to have stopped. But when I stopped to get gas it started back up again. Because I was at least 30 miles from home, I called my husband and he told me to drive back home immediately. It seems to be getting worse and at lower speeds. This is my only source of transportation as I am disabled and cannot afford the ridiculous amount they want to just diagnose it.

When I attempt to speed up or slow down my truck hesitates, and it's followed by a significant shake, like a shudder, and sometimes it just jerks, or clunks, like it's doing a very “hard shift” when the automatic transmission changes the gears. Sometimes it shifts so violently, I feel like I got hit by another vehicle. I've also tried to accelerate into traffic, and the truck hesitate and then abruptly and violently jerks into gear. It creates a big traffic safety issue! Other times the transmission shifts gears so hard that it slams the truck forward, and makes feels like I've been rear-ended.
Vehicle will start flashing stability control and starts jerking from passenger side. Along with vehicle randomly shutting off while traveling and turning back on with steering wheel slanted (wheels not aligned) and saying “ power steering reduced, drive with care”.
The transmission and transfer case malfunctioned and then failed. It was out in 4wd low to grab a trailer out of our field and I pulled back onto the driveway, put the truck back into neutral, and lost all gears. The truck wouldn’t shift or move at all. Purchased a transfer case motor and installed, but the truck would barely move so I hauled it to a shop for further inspection. Upon inspection of the vehicle I was told that the transmission needs replacing. When the truck initially stopped shifting out of neutral it rolled down the hill and I had to run after it before it hit my fiancé and dog. The vehicle has not been inspected by anyone other than myself and the certified technicians at the shop I towed it to. There were no warning lamps or messages or anything else until after the new transfer case motor was installed at the shop. Then the “service 4wd” warning came on. The truck will now shift itself into neutral when it is driven.
The torque converter has failed and less then 200,000 miles. It has caused damage to valves in the transmission. It is only on the 6L80 transmissions from GM. I have had Coleman Taylor which is a transmission shop in Tennessee look at it. They have informed me that it is the most common issue they see with that particular transmission before the failure should occur. I have spoken to multiple people with Chevrolet Silverado trucks with varying years from 2014- 2018 having to have transmissions rebuilt or replaced as soon as 70,000 miles all the way up to 150,000 for the same failure. The safety concern for myself and others on the road is the transmission can suddenly lock up due to the transmission failing. I have spoken with express Chevrolet in Covington TN the service department informed myself that there was no active recall but they feel that there should be. There was no warning that this was going to happen. The truck and transmission are sitting at my home currently and available for inspection at your earliest convenience
Transmission failing at 130k miles. Warning if car driving weird and then after 2 days I’m stopped in traffic go to hit the gas and nothing. Truck wouldn’t move. The 2015 has a transmission recall. A/C failing to work for the last 1.6 years. Inconvenience and apparently a common issue in the 2014 Silverado. Should be a recall since it’s so common.

HUGH PROBLEMS RESPECTIVELY IF THAT WERE TO EVER HAPPEN. THIS IS A MANUFACTURER PROBLEM AND OWNER NIGHTMARES THAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED BEFORE SERIOUS INJURIES HAPPEN... 2NDLY, THE ENGINE LIFTERS &TRANSMISSION IS ANOTHER HUGH PROBLEM FOR A PERSON WHO WORKS EXTREMELY HARD FOR EVERTHING HE OWNS AND TAKES CARE OF HIS VEHICLE VERY METICULOUSLY BECAUSE OF HOW HARD I WORKED FOR EVERY PENNY TO BUY MY ALL-TIME FAVORITE TRUCKS!!! Heavy smell of gasoline in the cab and the bed of my truck as well as outside of the truck began on February 23, 2023. The truck is also harder to turn over or start since the smell has begun. Due to the gasoline smell, it is causing a nauseous feeling, severe headaches, coughing and a red flush over my wife’s face when she is in the truck. The transmission line leak has been leaking for quite some time and I have to replace the transmission fluid a least a quart of fluid every two weeks. I was not notified of the Safety Recalls for the Fuel pump pressure regulator and the Transmission oil cooler line leak/ fire danger on my 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. I have taken my truck to be assessed by the Chevrolet Dealer on 03/13/2023, and they determined that my truck does indeed have both of these Safety Recall problems but that they will not repair them. They stated it is a closed recall and my 95k+ miles were too high. The Safety Recall Bulletin #14121 and #13370A both state no mileage limitation and declare my make and model affected by these Safety Failures. I have paid off the loan to my truck early only to be unable to drive it safely or enjoy it. I have never been late on any of my payments and was proud to pay it off early. This model truck has had several Recalls including an incident with the front wheel falling off due to a mechanical failure, that was shocking and frightening when it happened after only owning it for approx. 2 years. With the Fuel leaking and carbon monoxide, and the transmission fluid leaking, the Dealer should take responsibility and repair these problems that they know are a Safety and Fire issue as stated in the Recall Bulletins and make my vehicle operable again. I am only asking that the Dealership provide me with the Repairs they said are needed to the Failures caused by improper installations and or Faulty equipment from the manufacturer as stated in the Safety Bulletin Recalls.

I bought this truck in Sept 2017 and have had this intermittent problem from the beginning. The first time I noticed the electrical issue was while travelling on the interstate with the cruise control on. When I would use my turn signal to signal a lane change or press the power window switch, the cruise control would go off. This has been reported to the dealer and another repair shop and they were unable to replicate the problem. This electrical issue has evolved over the years to create a significant safety issue. Occasional while driving at slow speed (I have not had this problem occur at highway speed, thankfully) the warning bell and signals would start dinging and flashing error messages. The errors would advise about stabltrak control and power steering assist. The dash lights would flash and the display screen would go blank. Occasionally the truck would die completely. I lost steering control while turning onto my road and almost went into a ditch. Luckily I was going slow (10 - 15 mph) and I was able to stop in time. The truck always restarts once I put it in park and turn the ignition. I took the truck to the dealer and they charged my over $900 to "FOUND LOW VOLTAGE AND HIGH RESISTANCE FROM THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE and REPLACED IT". This did not fix the problem. #1. 2 days after purchase left rear tire was replaced because of out of round #2. 11/2/21 rear brake pads and rotors were worn to the metal replaced by ourisman Chevrolet #3. 7/14 /22 front struts leaking where replaced by Eds body and paint #4. 10/11/22 rear axle pinion seal, transfer case front output shaft seal, oil pan all leaking replaced by jba Chevrolet #5. 11/3/23 front differential leak and coolant hose leak not replaced. Dealership claimed (in writing 11/25/22) upgrade to warranty to cover repairs but was denied by warranty company
While driving at highway speeds at about 73mph the rear end of the truck will shake and has caused the rear end to start to fishtail while still driving straight is the road is even slightly wet.

The contact restarted the vehicle and steering functionality returned. Additionally, while his wife was driving and approaching a stop, the vehicle inadvertently shifted into neutral(N). Vehicle less than 150,000 miles and transmission hasn't held up. Vehicle isn't driven hard its my daily driver to work. Transmission temperature exceeding 200 degrees on a short drive, hard shifting into 1,2,3,4 gears. I have done my research looking into other people that have had this trouble and it has become a well known problem with these vehicles. Everyone is experiencing trouble from the torque converters to the gears, and clutches. Its terrible that we are spending 10's of thousands of dollars on a vehicle that will not even hold up to 150,000 miles. These transmissions needs to be recalled and replaced. I have also done further extensive research that shows that from the GM Bulletin you can find documentation that shows that the 6L80 transmissions have problems with this exact issue. This Bulletin was published in June of 2020. If GM has listed 13 different models of 6L80 transmissions in different vehicles that are having such problems. Why hasn't this been recalled to make it right to the customers who have these vehicles. We are being ripped of our hard earned money and left with vehicles that are extremely expensive to have repaired or forced to let them go back or have no option but to trade it in and still be left with lots to pay on these vehicles.
Transmission quit working at 125195 miles. When I called around to Chevy dealers, this is a common problem for this particular year and model. Dealer said it would cost close to $7,000 to replace with a different transmission to resolve the problem. They did not put the same make/model transmission into the truck - they put a different one due to the issues the original transmissions are having. We spent a significant amount of money to get the transmission REPLACED. The transmission needed to replace the bad one was on backorder - due to the demands. I personal feel that Chevy should have recalled the bad transmission and the cost of the repairs should have been covered by the manufacturer. I am a woman and this could have been very dangerous had the transmission quit on the highways in Portland, Oregon while commuting to or from work. Please look into this. I would like Chevy to reimburse us for the repairs we paid. I have an invoice of $4,690. Thankfully it quit a few blocks from my home. I had to have the truck towed to the dealer. That was an additional expense.
Transmission failed because of faulty torque converter at roughly 95,000 miles. Now the same failure has occurred at 115,000 miles. This type of failure is unsafe if it were to happen in heavy traffic or crossing an intersection. GM refuses to acknowledge the issue and demands a certified dealership diagnose the issue. I maintain my right as a consumer to use a private repair shop. They will not investigate any further with my report, without their service department, which is biased and a conflict, providing the diagnosis.
I was driving as I usually do , this time I was in my car I had just financed and bought 3 weeks before. There was no signs or warning lights before this incident. I was driving when suddenly it wouldn’t go in to gear or any gear at all and realized my transmission was failing . I then drove it and tried to get to safe spot trying to avoid any crashes delays or other accidents. I was glad to be close by to a safe spot and not going at a fast speed on freeway or Main Street when this occurred and avoided an accident. My truck was then towed into the dealership mechanics and was waiting for a report and turns out the truck needs a transmission replacement. During the Transmission tear down and inspect they Found clutch assembly gear 1-2-3-4 and 3-5 reverse plates all damaged. Plates missing teeth and burnt. Excessive metal inside torque converter, and valve body. Clutch drum damaged and burnt. I am now just researching recalls for 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and realized that there is a recall for power train on transmission. Stated “The subject vehicles may have a transmission oil cooler line that is not securely seated in the fitting.” And the Recall consequence is “If the line is not securely seated and transmission oil leaks from the fitting, the oil could contact a hot surface and cause a vehicle fire.” By reading my experience with my trucks transmission failing and having multiple parts inside “burnt” Has me wondering if my truck was part of this recall and how worse it could have been if it would have caught in fire. My dealership failed to mention any problems and stated they “take every vehicle through a mechanical inspection and smog Saftey.” I can’t believe only 3 weeks of having this truck and no warning signs and to just completely just shut off and have the transmission destroyed/burnt is a horrible experience.

The 2014 and up Chevrolet Silverado 1500 models are notorious for electrical issues and bugs, some may have been recalled but other were not included in that recall while still having the same issues, these vehicles have major electrical system issues, from bad battery cables, down to every Control Module associated with the truck, over time salt, sand, mud, moisture disrupts certain key areas of the electrical wiring harness underneath the vehicle, General Motors knows about this but fails to recall these vehicles, it creates a very serious matter when you have no traction control, or any ABS function, along with loss of power steering assist. These control systems can be life and death when they are not working!. GM needs to address these issues and recall ALL 2014+ Silverado’s and alike for these electrical issues relating to “loss of communication with the ECM, BCM, TCM, EBCM, TCCM, PSCM, etc. these are costly break downs and these modules are very expensive to just throw in and hope it fixes the issue, most dealers don’t want to trace wiring issues and will just tell the customer cannot replicate which leaves us vulnerable. Some customers state their vehicles will randomly shut off while driving, others report their truck going into “Limp home mode”. Nobody can seem to centralize a specific area where the problems are occurring but believe it has something to do with the material and the way the harness was made.
Friday November 26th after having hit a deer, my truck quit entirely. Transmission Would Shudder, and Rattle, then not engage, causing engine to Die during several attempts. I had to have the truck towed 3 times just to get it to where I could have the issue diagnosed. Gateway Transmission quoted $4200 minimum on repairs including Torque Convertor, Drive Shaft (replace w Steel not orig. alum). The repairs are completed, which now totaled $ 6,374.84 paid out of pocket. I have been without a vehicle for 60 Days. The Transmission Coolant Lines also had to be replaced. No GM notification has been received. Multiple Complaints found re same issue. I AM DEAF Phone included is a voice contact family member.
My truck loss of electric power steering it shuts off especially during low speed turning maneuvers. Lost and then returns then might lose temporary control of the steering wheel, increasing the risk of a crash. I have made an appointment at my dealership .
I purchased vehicle new 12/2013 and have had the vehicle to Chevy dealer after purchase due to hard downshifts and banging in transmission on shifting. Dealer claimed condition was a normal condition and would do nothing to remedy. This shifting condition stayed the same until the following event. 10/19/2021 driving northbound on I75 in Michigan at 75mph vehicle starts jerking and banging and starts losing speed. Tachometer is bouncing up and down between 1800-2300 rpm, transmission temp was 270 degrees. Vehicle is having transmission failure. I put transmission in manual mode and used 4th gear at 45 mph to limp into my destination. It was pitch dark, raining and very hard to see and I was concerned of being rear ended if I pulled off the side of the road and waited for a wrecker. The next day I drove the vehicle to a transmission shop, again using M4 to limp in as my brother in law followed behind with his emergency flashers on to alert others of a slow moving vehicle. The independent transmission shop inspected my vehicle and determined the torque converter failed and contaiminated the transmission, lines and cooler with metal shavings. They also commented they see several of these vehicles for the same problem, it's common issue they said. Mileage at failure was 124780. They rebuilt the transmission, replaced the torque converter and flushed the lines and cooler at a cost of 2755.00. GM should be held responsible to reimburse owners of these vehicles as they knew of these transmission issues and placed the occupants of vehicle at risk of injury or death if this issue caused a collision. I have attached documented complaint at GM when vehicle was new of clunking and banging in transmission and their answer was its a normal condition.
The code service 4wd come up and it locks the 4wd up can’t be driving took to shop put on computer and 200 miles later did it again
problem first started about 6 weeks ago. slowing down making a turn my truck would shut down without any warning. once turning left in a four lane highway. once turning into Mc Donalds jumping curb and several other times. took into dealership for a recall told them about problem. they put analizer on it showing nothing. it has shut down several times since and a light on my truck finanally came on saying it was the trucks thief deterrent system. i will be taking this into my dealership again this morning but feel you should be aware of this problem as all control of truck was loss when turning into oncoming traffic.

THE FIRST TRANSMISSION SWAP WAS UNDER WARRANTY. THE SECOND SWAP WAS NOT. WHICH I HAD TO PAY 4800.00 TO REPLACE. MY MECHANIC TOLD ME THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL AND THEY HAD TO UPGRADE THE TRANSMISSIONS. THE SECOND TRANSMISSION THAT WENT IN DID NOT LAT BUT 50K MILES. RIDICULOUS. IT'S A MANUFACTURE DEFECT, GM SERVICE BULLETIN: #PIP5175B AND REFERS TO MEXICAN SOURCED TRANSMISSIONS THAT WERE BUILT WITH THE STATOR SUPPORT BOLTS NOT BEING PROPERLY TORQUED, LEADING TO VARIOUS CONCERNS, THE FIRST OF WHICH TO SHOW UP IS USUALLY THE 1-2 SHIFT FLARE/SLIP. THE KICK IS HARD ENOUGH WHEN IT SHIFTS THAT YOU FEEL LIKE YOUR GETTING REAR ENDED FROM 3RD TO 2ND. ALSO YOU THINK YOUR TRANSMISSION WILL DROP OUT IT GOES INTO GEAR SO HARD.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST THE TRUCK SHAKES MORE THAN NORMAL WHILE IN IDLE ALMOST TO THE POINT WHERE IT FEELS LIKE ITS GOING TO SHUT OFF.

"CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT TURNED ON WHILE DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY. I PULLED OFF THE EXIT RAMP AND CAME TO A RED LIGHT. WHEN IT TURNED GREEN, I STEPPED ON THE GAS AND THERE WAS LITTLE TO NO POWER. I WAS ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK AND TRAVELING BETWEEN 70-75. THE ENGINE BEGAN TO FEEL ROUGH. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS BLINKING AND THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT WAS ON. I EXITED THE FREEWAY AND CALLED THE DEALERSHIP. THEY SAID THAT IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE IT TO THEM. THE ENGINE IDLED ROUGHLY AS IF IT WASN'T GETTING AIR OR GAS AND WOULD DIE. AS I DROVE TO THE DEALERSHIP IT SHIFTED ROUGHLY, WOULD ONLY GO 55, WAS SHAKING VIOLENTLY, AND HAD SIGNIFICANT LOSS OF POWER. THE TECHNICIAN SAID THE CODE WAS FOR A MISS FIRE ON PLUG 6. THEY CHECKED TO SEE IF THE PLUG OR WIRES HAD BECOME LOOSE. THEY THOUGHT IT WAS A VALVE SPRING AND LATER DECIDED IT WAS A BENT PUSH ROD AND HAVE DISASSEMBLED THE HEAD TO INSPECT FURTHER. THEY ARE CONTACTING THE ENGINEERING DEPT. AT GM TO FIND OUT WHAT WOULD CAUSE THIS ISSUE. THIS IS OUR SECOND TRUCK THIS YEAR. OUR FIRST WAS A 2014 SILVERADO 1500 2X4, PURCHASED IN MAY W/ 4000 MILES, ROLLED DOWN A HILL ON JULY 26TH AND CRASHED INTO ANOTHER CAR WHILE UNOCCUPIED, LOCKED AND IN PARK. GM WAS "UNABLE TO FIND ANYTHING WRONG", AND CLOSED OUR CASE. THE DEALERSHIP WAS VERY HELPFUL AND THIS IS OUR REPLACEMENT TRUCK. THIS TRUCK WAS PURCHASED AT 8 PM ON 9/22/2014. WHEN DRIVING ON 9/25/2014, THE TRUCK VIBRATED AS THOUGH I WAS DRIVING OVER RUMBLE STRIPS AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, 55-75 MPH. IN HI-2 MODE IN DRIVE, THE TRANSMISSION DID NOT SHIFT SMOOTHLY, SHIFTING WITH A MILD CLUNK AT LOWER GEARS. WE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND DESCRIBED THE ISSUES TO A SERVICE PERSON AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO BRING THE TRUCK IN FOR SERVICE ON 9/29/2014. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PROBLEMS WERE PROBABLY DUE TO ALIGNMENT ISSUES. ON 9/28/2014, I DROVE THE TRUCK AND EXPERIENCED THE SAME SHIFTING AND VIBRATION ISSUES. I PULLED OFF THE FREEWAY NEAR MY DESTINATION AND STOPPED AT A LIGHT. WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE FROM THE STOP, THE TRUCK WOULD NOT MOVE AND "REVVED". IT HAD SWITCHED INTO NEUTRAL WITHOUT ANY INPUT FROM ME. THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT LEVER STILL INDICATED THAT I WAS IN DRIVE MODE. I DRIFTED INTO THE INTERSECTION, UNABLE TO GET THE TRUCK TO MOVE. I WAS ABLE TO SHIFT INTO PARK, THEN NEUTRAL, AND THEN DRIVE. THE TRUCK BEGAN TO DRIVE AND THEN I FELT A STRONG "THUNK" THAT FELT AS THOUGH I HAD BEEN REAR-ENDED BY A CAR GOING AT LEAST 25 MPH. THE TRUCK THEN DROVE NORMALLY FOR APPROXIMATELY 150 FEET. I HAD TO STOP AT THE LIGHT ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE UNDERPASS AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN, LEAVING ME DRIFTING INTO AN INTERSECTION. I WAS AGAIN ABLE TO GET THE TRUCK GOING AFTER A MINUTE OR SO, WITH THE SAME STRONG "THUNK". I CALLED ONSTAR TO HAVE THE TRUCK TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. ON THE FOUR OTHER DAYS THAT WE HAVE OWNED THIS TRUCK, IT WAS DRIVEN ONLY A FEW MILES EACH DAY, AT LOW SPEEDS. I AM EXTREMELY CONCERNED. THE TRUCK IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND HAS LESS THAN 300 MILES ON IT. FIRST VISIT TO A DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO WORK ON IT. THE SECOND DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE RING AND PINION AND THE AXLE BEARINGS. THIS RESOLVED THE PROBLEM AT THE ORIGINAL SPEED BUT A NEW SOUND DEVELOPED WHILE DECELERATING FROM 50 AND DOWN TO 40. TOOK THE TRUCK BACK IN AGAIN AND REPLACED THE BEARINGS AGAIN. NOISE SEEMED FIXED AFTER THIS FIX BUT THE LONGER I DRIVE IT THE NOISE IS COMING BACK AGAIN AT 55 MPH. DEALER REFUSED TO WORK ON IT AGAIN SAYING THAT ITS NOT LOUD ENOUGH TO REPLACE THE AXLE BUT IF IT GETS LOUDER THEY WILL REPLACE THE AXLE. SPOKE TO THE DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT IT FROM AND THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID THIS IS THE 3RD 2014 TRUCK THAT THE BEARINGS AND RING/PINION GEARS HAD TO BE REPLACED WITH VERY LOW MILES AND WITH IMPROPER BACKLASH SETUP FROM THE FACTORY. I HAVE A 2014 SILVER ADO WITH THE 5.3L V8, 3.42 LIMITED SLIP REAR END, 2 WHEEL DRIVE. I HAVE LOOKED INTO LEMON LAW FOR THE TRUCK BUT NOW THE DEALER IS SAYING THAT ITS NOT LOUD ENOUGH TO JUSTIFY FIXING IT AGAIN. *TR

THE TRUCK HAS BEEN IN THE UNETHICAL LANDERS MCCLARTY CHEVROLET IN HUNTSVILLE, ALABAMA SEVEN TIMES WITH ONLY THE SMALLEST OF THE ISSUES BEING FIXED. 1ST ISSUE WAS THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT MOVED WHEN TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT. THE DEALER'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT INFORMED ME THERE WAS NO FIX AND THAT THE SEAT WAS WITHIN MANUFACTURES SPECS. THE SEAT MOVED TO THE POINT THAT THE VENTILATED SEAT COOLER PLUG DISCONNECTED. THE SERVICE DEPT EVENTUALLY "FIXED" THE SEAT AND RECONNECTED THE PLUG. LASTLY THE ISSUE I CANNOT GET RESOLVED THROUGH GM CORPORATE, DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT OR THE REGIONAL GM MANAGER. MY TRUCK "SHAKES" FROM SPEEDS OF 65 MPH AND GREATER. THE SERVICE DEPT FIRST TOLD ME I NEEDED AN ALIGNMENT AND HAVE THE TIRE ROTATED AND BALANCED. THE SHAKE STILL CONTINUED, SO I COMPLAINED AGAIN TO THE SERVICE DEPT. THIS TIME I WAS TOLD THAT TWO TIRES WHERE "BAD" DO TO ROAD FORCE AND REPLACED THEM. THE TRUCK STILL SHAKES LIKE A STRIPPER SO I EMAILED THE CEO OF GM ON 11 JULY AND ASSIGNED AN EXECUTIVE LIAISON TO WORK THE ISSUE. SINCE THEN MY TRUCK HAS BEEN IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TWICE. EACH TIME I WAS CALLED A LIAR INDIRECTLY BY THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT MANAGER "[XXX]" AND THE DISTRICT MANAGER "[XXX]" AFTER THEY TEST DROVE THE TRUCK AND COULDN'T REPLICATE THE COMPLAINT. I HAD THE SERVICE DEPT FOREMAN "[XXX]" RIDE ALONG WITH ME AS I DROVE THE TRUCK AND POINTED OUT THE "VERY" NOTICEABLE SHAKE AT HIGH WAY SPEEDS. AFTER NUMEROUS PHONE CALLS TO THE SERVICE DEPT, GM CORPORATE, I FOUND OUT THAT THE SERVICE DEPT CAN UTILIZE A VIBRATION ANALYZER ON THE TRUCK. THIS HAS NOT TAKEN PLACE OR EVEN CONSIDERED. I CONTINUE TO DRIVE THE TRUCK WITH THE SHAKING BECOMING WORSE WITH EACH MILE. JUST LIKE THE IGNITION SWITCH PROBLEM, GM DOWN PLAYS THE ISSUE AND LETS THE PROBLEM COMPOUND. PULLED THE TRUCK INTO THE GARAGE AND PUT THE TRUCK INTO PARK. TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND THE VEHICLE DID NOT REGISTER AS IT WAS IN PARK BUT RATHER SEEMED TO BE IN NEUTRAL. THE TRUCK BEGAN TO ROLL BACKWARDS. I PLACED MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND MOVED THE GEAR SHIFTER TO ENSURE IT WAS INDEED IN PARK, IT WAS IN PARK. I TURNED THE VEHICLE BACK ON AND CONFIRMED THAT THE TRUCK WAS DISPLAYING P (PARK) ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. *TR
