The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado. The contact stated that while driving 10-15 MPH, the driver and passenger side air bags deployed independently. A dealer and an independent mechanic were contacted. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact sustained injuries to the head and neck. No medical attention was required. No police report was filed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and they informed him that he would have to wait two to three weeks before getting the diagnosis. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.

I hit a deer going 60mph and the side airbags in the pillars attempted to deploy but did not appear to fully inflate, not only that but my steering wheel airbag did not deploy at all/no other airbags deployed.
I was driving at approximately 35 -40 mph in foggy and wet conditions. As I approached a corner, I collided with a big metal dumpster. My airbags gave off that powder, and the smell was prominent, and the dash light came on. As well as, my side airbags (only the plastic) popped out, but, to my amazement, none of my actual airbags deployed at all. And my passenger seat belt was locked up to where I couldn't use it anymore, and no one was in that seat. Had I been in a frontal collision, I might have died. This is a major safety issue I have a 2107 Silverado 1500 LT.
The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the air bag warning light had illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local independent mechanic where the contact was advised to take to vehicle to a local dealer. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed that the passenger side door air bag needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that the repairs were not covered by a recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 88,000.

To be clear, the vehicle was not in an accident. The check airbag light keeps pinging every few minutes while driving. So I took to the Chevrolet of Watsonvill dealership and said the truck has a faulty passenger door airbag, which raises safety concerns for me. I have a [XXX] son as well as two [XXX] parents that sit in the passenger seat often and would hate for that faulty airbag to either deploy while driving or not deploy when needed. How do I see if this vehicle can be included in a safety recall? INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Airbag light comes on and off intermittently for last year
The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that on two separate occasions, while driving at various speeds, the air bag warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the contact was provided an estimate for a diagnostic test. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 76,000.
The drivers air bag actuator activated in a front end collision but the air bag didn't deploy.I explained the problem to the collision center of the dealership where the vehicle was taken. The insurance company has assigned an adjuster. There were no warning lights
8/10/2023 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 had a collision with a deer on driver side front bumper and grille near Piedmont KS in the country. Airbags did NOT deploy although the airbag light DID come on at time of incident. On-Start contacted husband, driver, to make sure he was ok since it was a front end collision. Truck is currently at Gerber Auto Collision 10760 W Kellogg Wichita KS being repaired. Truck was due to be returned to us by 8/21/2023. As of this morning, the date was updated to be 8/21 to 8/25. I called them on it and they said they were having "someone" check the airbags since the light was on but it did not deploy.
When driving the airbag goes on the light goes off when turning off the vehicle but as soon as you start driving the airbag light goes on
Bad airbag sensor. Transmission wet out with 144000 miles
My 2017 Chevrolet Silverado's air bag light has come on. I had the Chevrolet dealers review and diagnosis the issue. I am told that the passenger airbag and sensor need replacing. Cost to repair 2400.00 and dealership (Wilson Chevrolet) doesn't think they can get the parts in to complete repair. I was told my year and make have a recall, but not my model for the same issues. I do not believe that a truck that is just 5 years old should have this type of safety issue and not covered by the manufacturer, Chevrolet. And if there is a recall for the year and make, shouldn't cover all model trucks in that recall?
The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact was alerted by OnStar of a malfunction with the air bag system. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who diagnosed that a module associated with the air bags had failed and needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the dealer was in the process of repairing the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the repair was not covered under recall or warranty. The approximate failure mileage was 36,000.

Airbags failed to deploy when the truck was hit on the drivers side.
1. I lost power steering, power breaks, all dash lights/power and I believe air bags. The truck is available for inspection. 2. The first time I was traveling at 65mph in moderate traffic, it was very difficult to pull over to safety. The second time I was traveling at 50mph on a very windy road with heavy traffic. I almost hit another vehicle head on with several vehicles traveling in both lanes. The last time I was backing into my carport and almost bumped I to my house. 3. No, I called onstar the first time, they did a system check and said everything was good. I called a dealership the Second time and they confirmed I had no open recalls and explained it would be difficult to troubleshoot because it was intermittent. 4. I will be calling back to the dealership in the morning to make an appointment. 5. I got the audible chime, the airbag light came on and the "trailer break" message came on the info center. But everything goes back to normal.

I WAS INVOLVED IN A REAR-END COLLISION, WHERE I WAS SITTING STATIONARY. THE OTHER VEHICLE HIT ME GOING ESTIMATED SPEED OF 50 MPH. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, YET THE GAS FROM THE AIRBAGS FILLED THE VEHICLE AND SOME OF THE PLASTIC IN THE INTERIOR HAS BEEN BROKEN/DAMAGED. THE POLICE OFFICER ASKED ME IF I "VAPED", THAT IS HOW CLOUDY IT WAS INSIDE THE VEHICLE AND SMELLED LIKE SULFUR. THIS HAS CAUSED GREAT CONCERN THAT THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, YET THE GASES FROM THEM DID.

WEST BOUND HIGHWAY 44 BEFORE THE RAILROAD TRACKS. FEMALE DEER CAME OUT OF NOWHERE AND WAS HIDDEN BY THE A PILLAR, DRIVERS SIDE, WHICH OBSCURED HER SUDDEN CROSSING. SHE HIT THE FRONT, LEFT, OF THE TRUCK WHICH CAUSED THE SIDE-CURTAIN AIRBAGS DEPLOYMENT CHARGES ON BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE, TO GO OFF. BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE ENSUING FORCE FROM THE DRIVERS SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG PLASTIC COVER EJECTING OUT, FORCEFULLY RAMMED INTO ME, PUSHING ME INTO THE CENTER CONSOLE. AIRBAG INDICATOR ON THE DASH INFO SCREEN IMMEDIATELY POPPED UP AS DID AUTOMATIC ACTIVATION OF THE HAZARDS. UPON COMING TO A STOP ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE-AIRBAGS BEGAN TO SMOKE. SMELL IS SIMILAR TO BLACK/GUN POWDER WHICH I ASSUME THE DEPLOYMENT CHARGE IS MADE OUT OF. TAKEN BY AMBULANCE TO HOSPITAL. FILED CLAIM WITH INSURANCE. RESEARCH THIS EVENING REVEALS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH OTHER AIRBAGS IN THE TRUCK. NHTSA REF: NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V651000. I'M WONDERING IF MY ISSUE IS POTENTIALLY SYMBIOTIC TO THIS ISSUE. LASTLY, A CHECK OF ANY RECALLS ON MY TRUCK VIA THE MYCHEVY APP AND NHTSA WEBSITE, FAILS TO INDICATE ANY RECALLS AT ALL EXIST ON THE TRUCK.
Mileage: 7,339
PLEASE PROVIDE AN UPDATE ON WHAT THE NHTSA IS DOING TO ENSURE SAFETY ON THE TAMARA AIRBAG RECALL. THE RECALL NOTICE INDICATES RISK OF FATALITY TO PASSENGERS. THE RECALL NOTICE HAS A DATE OF MAY 27TH, 2016. I WOULD ASSUME 7 MONTHS WOULD BE ADEQUATE TIME TO RESOLVE THIS DEFECT. COULD THE NHTSA PROVIDE MORE INFORMATION ON WHAT OWNERS SHOULD EXPECT FROM MANUFACTURES REGARDING THIS?
