Unknown, ESC , traction control, service brake. The truck stop and those 2 codes shows and is on but doesn’t it move
I own a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. While driving 35 MPH entering the flow of traffic, the vehicle lost power with the engine misfiring. The messages "Service Parking Brake" and "Service ESC" were displayed. The check engine warning light was also illuminated. I drove to the nearest dealership the vehicle was diagnosed that cylinder #5 lifters had collapsed. The dealer informed me that the cylinder lifters needed to be replaced. Additionally, the camshaft would be replaced as necessary. The vehicle was being repaired. The manufacturer will be notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 88,000. and I was informed that my service contract had expired less than 2 months ago
As I was driving the vehicle it seems to be hesitating or jerking and when I tried to start it,it would say put your foot on the brakes to start,but my foot was on the pedal and it was slow starting.Days later the engine light came on,took it to the dealership and they told me it was a problem with the brake system.I bought the vehicle brand new,only 41,000 miles,on it now,warranty went out in June of this year.I very rarely drives it and now they saying its a 4,000 job to get it fixed.
Truck lost power and began to shake while on the interstate traveling at 75 mph. The check engine light came on. The screen also displayed a message to service the ESC system and the parking brake system. The truck has been maintained at the recommended service intervals. The dealership said the lifters needed to be replaced as well as the electronic brake control module. With a cost of over $8000. The truck has 108,000 miles on it.
I was driving on the street when suddenly the truck stopped completely by itself without me pressing the brake, I put it in neutral and put it back in forward, it went about 30 feet and stopped by itself suddenly again and the dashboard panel did not have any warning signs that indicated that something was wrong. I took it to the dealer and they told me that since it did not have any warning lights on, they could not do anything. I spoke directly with GM and they told me the same thing, that they could not do anything and now I will have to drive it without knowing if the problem will occur again and I caused a serious accident.
While Driving without a Trailer attached to the truck or anything plugged into the Trailer plugs on the truck, the "Service Trailer Brake System" continuosly flashes up on the Dash and chimes even after mutiple "Dismiss" attempts it still comes back.
Driving on highway leaving Virginia going around 70 all of a sudden truck starts making clicking and clacking sound all warning signals came on dash truck slows down to 20-25 miles pulled off highway checked fluid levels returned back to highway could only drive 45-50 an hour to Augusta Ga upon inspection at dealership was told either the lifters and camshaft were bad no prior problems

I have a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ. 5.3 Ecotrac 8 transmission with 89,000 miles. I bought it used and have had it 12 months, but only drove it 9 before it malfunctioned causing severe electrical & mechanical problems. I was driving the truck when the EPB, service engine, stabilitrac, ECBM warning lights came on, also driving over 43 miles an hour could cause a crash due brake failure This caused the emissions. transmission, & throttle to shut down Truck would not shift out of low gear. It would shift to park but did not recognize it was in park which kept the accessory on running down the battery, the tail gate would not open, and the information system shut down. I got sick and was in the hospital for 5 weeks, the truck was vandalized. The body repair shop took it to the chevrolet dealership in long beach to have it inspected. I did not tell them the vehicle had malfunctioned, throwing code U0101 and another code. I wanted the dealer to find the problem, the truck had not been driven since it was parked from the malfunction. All they came back with was I had a burnt cylinder and would be 9000 to fix due to maintenance, we maintained this truck changing the oil every 3000 miles with Castoroil synthetic oil, regularly checking and maintaining transmission, brake , all-fluids. Supposedly they ran a diagnostic, if they did they would have found these warnings and that main code U0101 would have showed up. When it happened Onstar ran the diagnostic and told me to take it immediately to a dealership. That dash should have lit up like a christmas tree that’s how many light were going off. The dealership never said a thing about these lights. Now i’ve read where Chevy had a problem with the EPB and only put them on this model from 2019 to 2022 because of this. I found on other sites recalls that included what happened to my truck, but not in your web sight. There was major design and manufacturing flaw with this model and year. I’ve read complaints on this.
This is the second time I have had these error messages come up. The dealer originally finally fixed the issue after replacing the power cord running to the trailer wiring harness and replacing the trailer wiring harness. The same issue has come back two years later.
Last year the right parking brake was sticking and our service parking brake light kept coming on. We found out that it ate our back right brake so both needed to be replaced. That lasted less than a year. I brought it back to our local mechanic twice and they couldn't figure it out so they referred us to a dealership to run a diagnostic test (which I had to pay $108.00 out of pocket for) I brought it in to the dealership on Friday (4-18-25) to find out that the Brake Control Module needs to be replaced. I noticed that their is a recall for my exact vehicle but my VIN # is not included in the recall. I would like to be included in this recall. This is a very serious issue that deals with everyone's safety. I don't want to have to keep fixing this. I just want my vehicle fixed. Please help
I was driving down the interstate stuck in slow moving traffic going 55 in a 70 in Jacksonville, FL. The Chevy suddenly lit up like a dang Christmas tree, parking brake service, check engine light, lane assist, and EVAC all flashing on the screen. Everytime I hit clear it like a new warning popped up. It started to drive super rough as in bumpy, loud and hesitant. I parked it, turned it off. Waited maybe an hour since I went to class, then came back to start it. Issue was still there. I took it to the dealership who seemed more interested in buying it than repairing it, they said it could be a number of things and estimated 10k even though they couldn’t tell me exactly what was wrong. They knew, they just wouldn’t say. Anywho, $100 later for a wacky diagnosis, I left to take the truck to an actual mechanic, who stated the lifters failed which caused a bent rod, which then damaged the cam shaft. We had just bought the truck outright for 27k three months prior and only driven it 1,500 miles. It was estimated to be anywhere between 12-15k to fix. Which we didn’t have that money and personal loans are too high so we traded it in and took a loss of 17k while being thankful that no one was injured driving this thing. The truck didn’t even have 80,000 miles yet. It was at 75,000 or 76,000. Truck engines shouldn’t fail that soon or fail at all and this is a common safety issue with this truck. If you have time, google the main issues for this truck and you’ll see several posts about people complaining about their truck doing the same and having to do a computer deletion to get the engine to function correctly to prevent this issue.
Was Driving my 2019 silverado home and a warning light came on said service ESC and something about speed is set to 45mph max. Then the truck would not go.I pulled over and tried to figure out what was going on. Luckly I was able to make it home got out my code reader and check the codes they were P25A2 and C053D. I have looked up these codes I see them all over the internet other people are having them as well. I checked for recalls I dont see any for this issue. Are there any fix for this issue?
While driving going at a speed of 60 mph on the highway my brakes stopped working, anti locks weren’t working. ABS light came on and it also said brake system failure and to Go at max speed 65 mphs. This put myself and my daughter greatly at risk!Vehicle could not stop. Now the system shows no issues and all warning dashboard lights are off (ABS) I did find a recall online for this same issue for 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500
I noticed up on start up a warning light comes on & display says brake system failure 62 MPH then goes away. I have been reading numerous other reviews online that they are experiencing the same issue. 2nd problem is when I bought the vehicle I noticed numerous oil spots on the tailgate, I asked a GM representative & they said it was road grime, but I noticed the rear pinon is leaking, so it's been leaking since I bought the truck & the dealership either doesn't know it's a known issue or they didn't want to come out & say it.
Traveling on the highway at 70 mph the rear wheels (brakes) locked up nearly causing a collision. I found a couple of recalls notices for 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500, but nothing posted for 2019 Chevy Silverado. The vehicle was taken immediately to the dealership for evaluation and repair. The tow/haul mode light blinked on and then off. At no time was the tow haul mode manually engaged. My understanding is the vehicle’s Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) software could have an error that should be covered under a recall. Upon inspection and repair the dealership found codes for the brake system control module lost communication with multiple modules and found low voltage codes. They replaced the battery and updated the BSCM. I believe Chevrolet should extend the recall to 2019 models and hopefully this report will cause action to be taken and prevent accidents in the future.

Twice the vehicle has malfunction at high rates of speed no brakes no steering and almost caused serious injury to myself and young son the second occurrence I record the last 15 seconds safely to have proof of exactly the speed of disengaged control. For this very reason. Vehicle has been at dealership since 10/28 I’ve had to rent a car 1700.00 and more than 30+ days no diagnostic or response to purchase this defective vehicle with number of same occurrence of brake electric emissions and transmission malfunction.
I keep on getting the Service Brake System warning, even when I am not pulling a trailer. When I am pulling a trailer the warning comes on and I lose all braking on the trailer and it usually blows the trailer brake fuse. This has been happening intermittently for the last two years and now is more frequent. Now I heard there is a recall on the same scenario but my VIN number is not included. Now what?
A couple months ago, my wife was backing down a sloped driveway the brakes gave out and would not stop the truck. She had to push the brake extremely hard to get it to stop and the service brake assist light came on briefly. It then went off and the truck's brakes came back. It happened to her one other time in a similar situation going slow in a driveway. Today I was driving and was slowing down coming to a stop sign moving forward when the brakes gave out so I had to push the brakes extremely hard to come to a stop which felt like they were fighting back and I almost hit the person in front of me. The service brake assist light also came on. There are known recalls on this part in prior years of this same vehicle and others. This recall should be expanded to 2019 Chevy Silverado's as well. I should not have to pay to fix a known issue.
July 2024 my 2019 Chevrolet Silverado got a message of 'brake system failure will not go over 43 mph'. Computer reset twice by local tire dealership. On Thursday September 26, 2024, while driving breaks STOPPED working. Vehicle would not come to a complete stop. Brake pedal hit the wall and still not working. Had to release the gas in order to put the vehicle into a complete stop. UNSAFE, VEHICLE COULD NOT BE DRIVEN. ALMOST CRASHED. Had to get a wrecker to tow it home.

Was driving and the engine died, lost power steering, lost gauges (No speedometer, No Tachometer, Gauges quite working at all) and lost power brakes. Had to try and pull over and was not able to stop or steer easily. I almost hit several other cars and a guardrail trying to stop and steer to emergency lane. After I got stopped, I was not able to restart my vehicle, the starter just kept running but the engine would not start and gauges didn't work. I had my vehicle towed home and started trying to figure out what happened. Put my code reader on the truck and it showed 12 different codes including ECM/BCM failure. I started checking fuses and relays but everything was good. Finally found the problem at the ECM. There was a wiring harness that was not secured and was rubbing against the frame of the truck. One little yellow wire had rubbed through and shorted out which killed the whole truck. It looks like the manufacturer didn't secure the wiring harness in several spots which allowed the wiring harness to rub on the frame and the mount that holds the ECM. The mount for the ECM has started to rub through a different wiring harness and had started rubbing through wires in that harness but I caught it in time.
IT'S BEEN 3 TIMES I HAVE HAD A RECALL ON THE BRAKES AND THEY CHARGED ME FOR THE DIAGNOSIS THAT RETURNED p25a2 AND THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME FOR FIXING SOMETHING THAT WENT WRONG SINCE MANUFACTURING MY TRUCK ONLY HAS 6,000 MILES IT SKIDS A LOUD SOUND IS HEARD DOWN AND WHEN I BRAKE FOR A LITTLE MORE AND I CRASH 3 TIMES
The brake system went out last month on my vehicle. While driving down a road approximately 35 mph I went to stop the vehicle and realized my brakes went out. I had to continuously pump the brakes to avoid hitting the car in front of me. When I hit the brakes several codes came up on my dashboard. Then the brakes began working again but the lights on the dashboard stayed on so I went to a parts house and they checked the codes. There was a code for the brake sensor. They cleared the codes at the parts house I did not order the sensor because the warning lights went off and I had no more problems with the brakes. Sunday, July 7th, I started the truck in a parking lot. As I was backing out of the parking spot the power steering went out and I almost hit the car parked next to me. Again the dashboard lit up with codes. I had no choice but to drive the truck to my house with no power steering. It was difficult to drive the truck back home and then to the Chevrolet dealership the next morning. I presently have the truck at the Auto nation Chevrolet. When I brought the truck in to the service department they hooked up the scanner to download the codes on the vehicle. Vehicle had several codes for the brake system, Telematics communication, engine control module, power steering control module and Body control module. The service Manager stated that they would need to charge me $200 to diagnosis the problem. They would need to keep the truck there 3-5 days. I am waiting on their diagnosis to determine the problem but I believe there is a safety issue involved with this vehicle and the repairs should be addressed by the manufacturer before someone gets hurt.
Complete loss of power assist steering with multiple safety codes causing loss of vehicle control. Was able to pull over in parking lot to get vehicle off the road. Near impossible to steer when incident happened. Frightening experience. As other complaints have noted frame to body ground strap located behind passenger front tire severely corroded and causing loss of ground contact. No service center open so had to be towed home. Vehicle only has 27,000mi. This has been reported frequently and should be a safety recall as very dangerous.
I was driving in Highway 85 going south 65 mph I had my grandkids in the backseat and my truck automatically baked by itself and that electrical system control light came on break tire minor needs service and my engine started knocking. I almost had an accident in the highway I had to disconnect my battery for my brakes to release.
This 2019 Silverado pickup truck lurched forward on 2 different occasions. The first time it lurched forward, it was in a parking lot and no damage was done to the truck or any other vehicle. The second time our 2019 Silverado pickup truck lurched forward I was turning around at a farm. The truck hit a wooden building on the farm and did damage to it and our truck did damage the front end of the truck to the tune of $3,474.00. If someone was in front of the truck, they would have been killed or seriously injured. We have been very careful with the truck ever since. We could pull it into our garage and it could lurch forward and go through the garage wall.
While traveling on the [XXX] at 70mph the truck started making a loud noise and started feeling like all tires were flat. Getting off the road the routors were very hot. Getting back on the interstate to get to an exit, a message appeared that said brake failure. There were no brakes when pedal was applied. It was towed to the Integrity Chevrolet in Chattanooga, Tn. A case was opened with General Motors #[XXX]. GMC reported to us that the truck which we bought with 5900 miles (driven by a salesman), had had the brakes reprogrammed 4 times which we were unaware of. They reprogrammed the brakes, put on new brake pads, milled the router and replaced the brake fluid, informing us this was needed, charging us $1210. GMC refused to pay because the dealership said it was normal wear and tear. Truck has 38,000 miles. Brake pads showed 62% front and 78% back life. We have emails as documentation. Truck stay without breaks in the freeway randomly and bunch of lights came on

The contact stated that the failure was intermittent at first but had since become a recurring failure while driving at various speeds. The contact was able to drive the vehicle to a local dealer who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) software needed to be updated. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V889000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic, Service Brakes, Electronic Stability Control) however, the vehicle was not included. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 154,000.

Brakes locked up and rear end slide out when just feathering the brakes into a turn in the cold
I started vehicle. Everything seemed fine. Drove 2 blocks and all eletricals started acting up. Lights flashing all warning lights went off. Service brakes, Service parking brake, service ECM, etc. Motor started to bog down and major knocking from engine. Took to GMC dealership. They found issues with lifters and had to replace all lifters and camshaft. Also replaced faulty brake sensor. Get truck back and oil cooler hose or line came off and was leaking oil. 1 week after repairs. Take back to dealership for repairs. 2 weeks later went to start truck all electronics went haywire, lights flashing, all warning lights start going off again. Truck will not start. Let sit for 15 mins. Try starting and no electrical power at all. Truck will not shift out of park. Major issue. Sounds to be a common issue with 2019 Trail Boss. Only has 40,000 miles.
I bought a 2019 chevy silverado z71 trail boss a month ago and just bought a camper and went and towed to to a camp ground thous weekend and the transmission headed up to 270 degrees took it in the torque converter was bad and towed it some transmission still getting to 250 and won't shift right and transmission with out the camper still jurks into gear and the brakes when u step on them shutter alot

Currently own a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Texas Edition Z-71. Transmission continues to hard shift / lunge in forward and reverse. The transmission has popped so hard, on multiple occasions that I was convinced that someone had hit me from behind and had to pull over. The downshift is occasionally so hard that it that you jerk forward out of the seat. In October of 2022 the downshift at 15 mph made me lose control of my truck and utility trailer, sliding me into a small tree causing over two thousand dollars in damages. The suspension is also extremely shaky and any rough terrain makes the vehicle uncontrollable even at low speeds. I have almost had 3 additional accidents because of loss of control in rain and snow. The suspension is also noisy when you first drive with a grinding / rubbing sound. Vehicle has been in for service for these issues on more than one occasion and I have been told they cannot find anything wrong. I have had a transmission code in the past that eventually turned off. A quick internet search shows these all to be known issues and Chevrolet refuses to address of repair these major safety issues.
Started truck in morning and service brake assist was displayed. Called dealership and was told ok to drive probably just a brake pad sensor. We were on vacation so kept driving, drove around Colorado Springs brakes seemed different but ok. Proceeded to drive up pikes peak just past 10 mile mark instrument cluster light up and chiming. The dash had service engine light, traction control, and brake light on. Instrument said brake system failure 43mph top speed, service esc, service trailer brake system and service brake assist.Was not using brakes as was climbing mountain. Proceeded to pull over and called dealer again. Was informed can’t really do anything as that far away and try disconnecting the battery. Did that and nothing changed. Proceeded to drive down mountain and contact local dealer. Drove truck in limp mode to dealership. The were able to get truck in and diagnosed internally leaking master cylinder. Master cylinder has to be replaced as it has failed. Truck has 63000 miles on it. This is a major safety item and should not of failed with this low of mileage.
Trailer brake service indication comes on constantly and cannot see speed use the radio or make a call. Already have changed the switch that they say is the problem, did not fix issues. Other mechanics on the internet are saying it's a wire harness between the switch and the module this needs to be replaced due to poor quality. We'll have a professional mechanic assess this but it looks like it's a common problem across the board. Please get GM to issue a recall on this because it becomes a safety issue, distraction and not able to read speed. Thanks
While I’m driving the truck will start jolting and driving rough. When I looked at the dashboard it said that the parking break is on. This has occurred on several occasions now. I have never used my parking break in this truck because I live in an area that is pretty flat.
I was involved in an accident on one 2623. My vehicle was struck. However, my airbags did not deploy. Also, the diagnosis code did not show in remains faulty
2019 Chevy Silverado RST turbo. 46K miles. Truck would feel like it skipped a gear a few times for a few months; I chalked it up to needing a new air filter. Had that and the oil changed. Ran normal for about 3 weeks. Check engine light came on and began flashing, service esc and service parking brake lights came on. Truck would vibrate while at an idle. Truck would not get up and go and when it go to 30mph, it would violently shake and stutter. Changed the 4 spark plugs, with number 4 being the worst, then 1, then 2 and 3. Mind you, the truck only has 46K miles. Got them replaced, removed the negative battery terminal to reset the codes and now the heat isn't working.
The Truck is having random BRAKE FAILURE to the degree that it will not STOP and the dash lights - up with several warnings ie; ABS , Traction Control , Speed Limited . Took the vehicle in to the local dealer and they looked at it , charged $140.00 to tell us that it needs a $2000.00 Brake Master Cylinder assembly. I am aware that this truck has had multiple BRAKE issues that G.M. was aware of and dealers have thrown many different things at it to try to correct the issue from Software Update [s] , the first one caused more issues , to replacing the Master Cylinder Assembly under warranty because of glitches ! It is not right for G.M. to ask the owner of a vehicle with KNOWN SERIOUS BRAKE ISSUES to pay for the unit to be repaired. This has been going on for the last 13-15 months !!!
Pressed the brake and service ESC/ service Brake Assist/ Check Engine/ ABS/ lights came on. Speed was restricted to 43 mph, speed was restricted to 62 mph. Cruise control was disabled. Brake Pad monitoring system read incorrectly. Took it to dealership for further inspection.
Lost all power steering and brake pedal did not work properly. Could not steer vehicle at all even using both hands on steering wheel. I shut off the truck, turned it back on and "service power steering" light came on the dashboard. Steering did not work at all so I shut it off. Called dealer to report problem and left a message to call me back.( I did not hear back from the dealer.) After a short period of time, I restarted the truck and the service light was still on, but the steering and brakes were working so I drove it home. I took it to the dealership on Sept 5th to explain what happened. They pulled up 8 codes from the truck and made me an appt for sept 8th. They informed me that there was a wire chafing problem with this particular truck, but upon inspection on the 8th, they said they could not find a bad wire. They told me to drive it until it happens again! Not being able to steer or brake are DEFINITELY SAFETY issues !
I have a 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 that has been well taken care of. I got into my truck and went to start it and a bunch of warning lights appeared stating brake system failure, service ESC, traction control off and 4WD off. The check engine light also came on with multiple other warning lights. I had a family member jump my truck and I was able to make it home. I hooked it up to my code reader and it showed- P25A2 Brake System Control Module 1. This has been a known issue and has been recalled twice for about 550,000 of the 2019 Silverado 1500, but my VIN isn’t included, even though it’s clearly having the same issue. The fix is to have the brake system reprogrammed by the dealership. Since my VIN isn’t listed I’m not getting any help with the issue.
I had to use my brakes hard because someone pulled in front of me. It drove fine for 10 miles afterwards on the interstate. I parked and turned the truck off but when I returned and turned the truck on the dash read ABS , Traction Control, EBS need service or failed as well as 43 miles per hour maximum speed. The power brakes do not work and the truck will not drive more then 43 mph.
The ball joint for the front left tire broke while driving on a straight road and caused over $2,100 worth of damage to the wheel, axle, brake, etc. I had no warning or anything when this happened. It felt like my tire popped and when I pulled over, the wheel was still attached but was sitting at an awkward angle. The shop quoted me at $2,154 as there were 5 or 6 different parts they needed to repair including the ball joint, axle, brakes, brake sensors, rim, etc.
I bought the truck in Oct. of 2019 with 5000 miles on it. I have taken it to several service shops since then. I have told every one of those shops fro 2019 to present that there was something wrong with the truck. There has always been a hard clanking noise in the rear end. It always feels like it's in 4 wheel drive. It has never shifted right. When pulling a load it fells like it jumps in and out of gear. And when shifting from reverse to drive it clanks in the rear end. It feels like there is a brake dragging because when I let off the grass it will practically stop itself and it sound like a wheel cylinder is going out. Sometimes I have to push the start/stop engine button 2 to 3 times before the truck will shut off. The screen of the radio goes black sometimes. The rear tires don't turn when in 4 low. The tail gate doesn't lift like it's supposed to. The heater isn't right when you turn the defrost on it blows out at you feet. And when it remote started the heater doesn't always come on. All the reportes can be seen through the Chevrolet dealerships or OnStar. It has been taken to several different dealerships since 2019 when I bought it.
The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start. The contact jumped the battery and was able to restart the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that while reversing, the brake pedal was depressed but went all the way to the floorboard and hesitated to respond. The contact also stated that the Parking brake was electronic and made it impossible to stop the vehicle in the event the battery failed. Event in Order: -AutoStart, failure -Started with key -“Action Required” - “Steering Assist Is Reduced, Drive with Care” -“Service” - “Trailer Brake System” -“dash panel information” not available – Fuel Economy and oil life -“Traction Control light on” -Put truck in reverse, gear not engaged, no response -Put truck in drive, worked, but steering very difficult and made vehicle not safe to drive and/or operate. This has happened to me once before but not to this extent, last was when I was driving and thankfully I was able to pull over and turn the vehicle off. It would not start after repeated attempts but finally started after and functioned normally. These events had not check engine lights and when serviced, the mechanics said they didn’t see anything when scanned. OnStar diagnostics had no report when I had it active. I bought this truck less than 18,000 miles ago. Initially bought at 17,181 miles on Feb 22, 2021 and is now at 34,675 miles as of Oct 29, 2021. This is a safety concern as the steering fail can potentially lead to an accident if the truck can’t be controlled. Traction control failure can lead to the vehicle becoming stalled in a dangerous situation. Brake systems can lead to unwanted breaking and/or being unable to break. Service Trailer Brake System - warning code is displayed every time the vehicle is started and must be dismissed. This does not allow for safe towing and braking. Social media has displayed numerous other Chevy Trucks with this problem and have stated "cheap wire harness." This needs to be replaced by the manufacture for using cheap materials.
ABS Brake Assist Module failed. Warning lights and indicators alerted the problem and the vehicle lost power assist braking. I was able to drive the vehicle to the local dealership as the warning message on the dash indicated the vehicle could not exceed 40 MPH with manual braking. Service tech diagnosed the module had failed, stated they are beginning to see this issue in more and more 2019 vehicles.
We bought the truck on 09-30-2021 with 24992 miles on it , brakes are all 4 horrible, no pads left and all 4 rotors are shot . This is a problem with this truck from the reports of this vehicle having premature brake wear from the Customer Satisfaction Program . It is sitting at the repair shop as we speak with almost $1000 in brake repair that needs to be done . This is very unsafe . Please let me know what I need to do to be reimbursed . There has been prior recalls on this truck also for brakes
On September 11 at approx. 1630 hrs. my wife and I were going out for dinner. I stopped at a stop light on a hill. Transmission in Drive, foot on the brake. Our truck suddenly started rolling backward. I looked at the dash, no warning lights, gauges still working, transmission in drive, I stood on the brake pedal, no effect, I put the transmission in park, no effect, I engaged the parking brake, no effect other than the parking brake warning light came on. We had rolled back approximately 50 feet. I looked in my rearview mirror and observed a car approaching. Luckily he/she saw my problem and stopped. Things suddenly started coming back to life and came to a gentle stop. When I looked in my mirror I was so close to the car behind me all I could see was his windshield, no hood. I moved the transmission from park to drive and we continued on. I have contacted the dealer and they are attempting to determine what happened. However, I am afraid this will happen to someone else who may not be as lucky as I was or that it may happen to me again. I pull a 5th wheel trailer with this truck.
Started to drive my truck this morning and it was driving very rough. Dashboard warning lights came on; SERVICE PARKING BRAKE, SERVICE ESC, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT, PARKING BRAKE ON INDICATOR. None of this was happening yesterday. It just happened this morning. This truck only has 7,100 miles on it.
Started truck up after parking for 20 minutes and the Brake ESC service light on dash came on and stated that there was a problem and I would not be able to drive over 43 mph, the ABS, Traction control were also shut down. I drove this to the local GM dealer who is now working on this for the third day and can't figure out what is wrong. The programing for the brakes was gone, they reprogrammed and it cleared out immediately. They are working with GM to attempt to fix the issue once they figure it out.
Stabilitrak was set off due to air bag module going bad. When braking it locked up 3 of the 4 tires ABS went nuts but didn’t stop it from locking up

P25A2 U0146 U0101 U0100 MIL Status- off Freeze frame DTC- u0146 I had an oil change done by Hare Chevy in Noblesville 2 weeks ago, never an issue with my truck until after I left the dealership. Stanley Chevy in Mccordsville looked at it this morning and said they have to order a bunch of parts for it, including new leaf springs for a truck that is less than 2 years old…never have heard of such a thing.

I was given a 2019 Chevy Silverado and when I turned the truck off the shift to park light would stay on and in February the brakes froze with the bad freeze when it thawed the brakes just started locking up by them selves I could not get over 5-6 mph so I made an app with dealership took it in told them what it was doing they had it a week they replaced shifter handle and bolt and reset codes I get the truck back did not have it 24 hrs I was leaving where I was fishing that morning I was going maybe 40 mph when the abs and other lights came on on dash and the brakes locked up again sending me sliding about 60 yards when I ended up in a ditch I tried to get out and the truck would not move so I get out and look to see my front passenger tire completely broke off folding up under truck. No one else was involved I automatically called dealership told them what happen filed a crash report and tow truck took truck back to dealership I contacted GM snd they sent an investigator to look at it but denied my claim said it was not a Manufactur defect.. so no one is wanting to fix my truck now it’s still under warranty with less than 19000 miles on it... and if I was to pay out my pocket to fix it I feel that it will happen again cause the freeze did something to the electrical brake system.. the truck is a year and 4 mts old. Paid cash for it and not I can’t even drive it..

VEHICLE IS PRODUCING A HARD SHIFT BETWEEN 1ST & 2ND GEAR PRIMARILY ON COLD STARTS. MORE RECENTLY IS HAS BEEN DOING MORE THROUGH OUT THE DAY BUT NOT AS SERVE. THIS STARTED AROUND 7500 MILES, CURRENTLY AT 23,000+. THE VEHICLE HAS NOW BEEN TO THREE DEALERS (6+ ATTEMPTS) WITH NO RESOLUTION. ONE DEALER TOOK THE VALVE BODY OFF FOR INSPECTION AND CLEANING. OTHER DEALERS HAVE TRIED REPROGRAMMING. LAST ATTEMPT AT REPAIR WAS THE WEEK 8/25/2020 WITH NO RESOLUTION AS THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE (HAD THE VEHICLE FOR A WEEK). THE NEXT DAY I EXPERIENCED THE HARSH SHIFT TWICE IN ONE DAY. I ALSO EXPERIENCE TRANSMISSION SLIPPAGE AT CONSTANT SPEEDS BETWEEN 45 & 60MPH. A BULLETIN CAME OUT FROM GM THE WEEK OF 8/25/2020 INDICATING NOTE TO REPAIR/REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION AS THIS IS NORMAL. HOW IS THIS NORMAL WHEN IT SHIFT SO HARD IT THROUGH THE OCCUPANTS FORWARD AND REARWARD IN THE SEAT. HOW IS THIS SAFE FOR A YOUNG CHILD/TODDLER? THIS HAS THE POTENTIAL TO CAUSE WHIPLASH IN YOUNGER CHILDREN. I HAVE IN FIRM BELIEVE THIS IS A CAUSE FOR MY NECK AND SHOULDER PAIN. AS AN ADDED NOTE: I HAVE BEEN WORKING WITH THE GM EXECUTIVE RESOLUTION TEAM ON THIS ISSUE AND AGAIN NO RESOLUTION. I AM ALSO EXPERIENCING AN ISSUE WITH THE PARKING BRAKE COMING ON BY ITSELF WHEN THE VEHICLE IS COMPLETELY OFF AND THE KEY OUT OF THE VEHICLE. OVERALL I HAVE SEVERAL OTHER ELECTRICAL ISSUES REGARDING RADIO, DIC DISPLAY & CRUISE CONTROL. ONLY THE DIC DISPLAY HAS BEEN CORRECTED. DOCUMENT ID 4605342 STATES FIRST SHIFT OF THE DAY MAYBE HARSH. IT'S NOT JUST THE FIRST SHIFT OF THE DAY THAT IT HAPPENS. ON MAY 22, 2020, MY HUSBAND [XXX] WAS DRIVING ON FOOTHILL AVE IN FONTANA, CA TOWARDS CHERRY AVE AND HE THEN ATTEMPTED TO BRAKE, THE BRAKES DID NOT RESPOND AND A MESSAGE OF SYSTEM BRAKE FAILURE APPEARED AND ALL THE MESSAGE LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD CAME ON. AS HE COULD NOT BRAKE, HE WENT THROUGH RED LIGHTS AND STOP ACCELERATING THE TRUCK UNTIL SLOWING DOWN. MY HUSBAND TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE DEALER ON MAY 23, 2020 AND AFTER EXPLAINING WHAT HAPPENED TO THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE, HE INDICATED THAT THEY COULD NOT SERVICE THE TRUCK AS AN APPOINTMENT WAS NEEDED. MY HUSBAND THEN WAITED UNTIL THE APPOINTMENT DATE ON 06/06/20 FOR THE TRUCK TO BE SERVICE. ON 12/21/19 THE TRUCK WAS SERVICE FOR BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE RECALL AND THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED TO MY HUSBAND. TALKING LATER WITH MY SPOUSE WE BOTH REALIZED NEITHER OF US FELT THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES ENGAGE. THERE WAS NO SOUND THAT IS USUALLY ASSOCIATED WITH BRAKING HARD. I TOOK PICTURES AT THE SCENE. I FOUND IT ODD THAT THERE WERE NO SKID MARKS. IT WAS A CLEAR DAY AND SHORTLY AFTER 11 AM. THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. MY HUSBAND REQUIRED TREATMENT AT THE LOCAL ER. THE TRUCK WAS TOTALLED.

I DROVE APPROXIMATELY 5 MILES DID NOT EXCEED 40MPH I DROVE WITH EXTREME CAUTION AND ARRIVED HOME SAFELY. IT WAS BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION THAT THERE IS A CURRENT RECALL THAT IS THE RESULT FROM A SOFTWARE UPDATE THAT WAS DONE BY THE DEALERSHIP WHEN MY TRUCK WAS BEING SERVICED IN DEC 2019 FOR A RECALL. THEY SAID IT WAS FIXED AND WAS JUST A BATTERY ISSUES AND THEY FIXED A COUPLE OF RECALLS. THEN ON JAN 26 NOT EVEN A MONTH LATER I WAS AT THE GROCERY STORE AND STARTED THE TRUCK, STARTED BACKING UP AND THE DASHBOARD STARTED LIGHTING WARNINGS AND I COULDNT GET THE TRUCK TO STOP. FINALLY WITH EVERYTHING I HAD I GOT IT TO STOP. I HAD TO GET THE VEHICLE HOME CAUSE IT WAS SUNDAY SO I PUT ON MY FLASHERS DROVE LESS THAN 30MPH AND GOT IT HOME THANK GOODNESS WITHOUT CAUSING A WRECK. HAD IT TOWED BACK TO ANOTHER DEALER AND YOU KNOW THIS DEALER BLAMED THE OTHER DEALER SAID THEY DIDNT DO SOMETHING RIGHT AND THEY JUST RESET THE SYSTEM. A WEEK LATER, AND AGAIN HAVING IT TOWED WITH MY OWN INSURANCE CAUSE ONSTAR WOULDNT TOW IT TO THE DEALER I WANTED. I WASNT EVEN OFFERED A LOANER VEHICLE.

I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND TURNED IT BACK ON AGAIN USING THE IGNITION BUTTON AND ALL WARNINGS AND LIGHTS CLEARED EXCEPT THE CHECK ENGINE REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED WHEN ALL OF THIS HAPPENED. I RECEIVED AN EMAIL FROM ONSTAR REPORTING THAT AN ISSUE WITH THE ANTILOCK BRAKING SYSTEM WAS DETECTED. THIS VEHICLE HAD JUST BEEN INTO THE DEALER THE PRIOR WEEK TO FIX ONE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH THE BATTERY CABLE, AND TWO OTHER RECALLS ASSOCIATED WITH THE BRAKES.

USUALLY IT RESETS AFTER STOPPING AND TURNING THE CAR OFF AND ON. THE RIDE HOWEVER IS VERY JERKY UNTIL I AM ABLE TO DO SO AND THIS IS NOT A SAFE OPERATION CONDITION IF THERE IS NOT A QUICK AND EASY PLACE TO STOP TO RESET. I HAVE TRIED TO HAVE ONSTAR PULL THE CODES RICE BUT THEY WERE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DO SO IN TIME AND THEY TELL ME THERE IS NO PROBLEM WHEN THEY CONNECT TO THE ONBOARD DIAGNOSTICS. IT APPEARS THEY CAN'T SEE HISTORY, ONLY ACTIVE CODES. THERE WAS A BRAKE RECALL ON THIS TRUCK THAT WAS SUPPOSEDLY REPROGRAMMED BEFORE I TOOK DELIVERY BUT I SUSPECT THAT THE 'SOFTWARE FIX' MAY NOT HAVE BEEN SUCCESSFUL. IN HINDSIGHT, MY SALESMAN ALSO SEEMED LIKE HE MAY HAVE BEEN AWARE OF THIS ISSUE BUT DIDN'T TELL ME ABOUT IT. I SAY THIS BECAUSE THE DAY AFTER I PICKED IT UP I NOTICED THAT FRONT BRAKE PAD LIFE INDICATED ONLY 68% REMAINING WHICH SEEMED LOW FOR A 'NEW' TRUCK THAT HAD 2500 MILES (HAD BEEN DEALER COURTESY VEHICLE). HIS RESPONSE WHEN HE TRIED TO CLARIFY WAS SOMETHING ALONG THE LINES OF 'AND YOU WANT ME TO HAVE THEM LOOK AT THE WARNING ABOUT THE BRAKES?', IN RETROSPECT THAT RESPONSE INDICATES TO ME THAT HE MAY HAVE HAD AN AWARENESS OF THIS PROBLEM THAT I HAD NOT YET EXPERIENCED AND WAS NOT WHAT I WAS ASKING ABOUT AT THE TIME. HE NEVER SEEMED TO UNDERSTAND WHAT I WAS GETTING AT ABOUT THE BRAKE PAD LIFE WHEN I REEXPLAINED SO I EVENTUALLY DECIDE JUST TO FORGET ABOUT IT AND RESIGNED TO THE FACT THAT I MAY HAVE TO PUT NEW BRAKE PADS ON THIS TRUCK BEFORE THE LEASE IS UP IN 39 MONTHS.

TRW KNOWS OF THIS ISSUE AND HAS PILES OF THESE SITTING ON ENGINEERS DESKS. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON ALL EARLY PRODUCTION T1 TRUCK TO REPLACE THESE IBCS. I WAS ABLE TO SLOWLY DRIVE THE TRUCK THE THREE MILES TO MY HOUSE WITH VERY LIMITED BRAKING CAPABILITY. WHEN MY HUSBAND WENT OUT TO CHECK THE TRUCK 15 MINUTES LATER, THE BRAKES HAD RETURNED BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS STILL ILLUMINATED. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL DEALER FIRST THING MONDAY MORNING AND WAS ADVISED TODAY THAT THEY DIAGNOSED A PREMATURE FAILURE OF THE MASTER CYLINDER. THIS AFTER THE SOFTWARE UPDATE IN THE PREVIOUS RECALL HAD BEEN COMPLETED APPROXIMATELY TWO WEEKS PRIOR. THE SERVICE ADVISER NOTED THIS HAS BEEN A COMMON ISSUE AFTER THE SOFTWARE UPDATE AND HAS BEEN HAPPENING ACROSS THE COUNTRY. I BELIEVE THIS NEEDS TO BE A NATIONWIDE RECALL IF THE CURRENT SOFTWARE UPDATE IS CAUSING THE MASTER CYLINDER TO FAIL AT THIS RATE.

ON 1/10/20, I WAS DRIVING HOME ON A MAJOR FREEWAY. JUST BEFORE 5:00 PM I HIT TRAFFIC AND SLOWED DOWN TO ROUGHLY 5-10 MPH. AT THAT MOMENT MY DASHBOARD LIT UP AND A NOTIFICATION STATING, "BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE" AND "SERVICE ESC" POPPED UP ON MY DASH. AT THAT POINT I WAS UNABLE TO STOP WHEN APPLYING MY BRAKES. LUCKILY I HAD A LARGE ENOUGH SPACE BETWEEN MY TRUCK AND THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME AS WELL AS THE TWO LANES BESIDE ME HAVING AN OPENING AND I WAS ABLE TO GET OVER AND COAST TO A COMPLETE STOP ON THE SHOULDER. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS ELECTRONIC MALFUNCTION. HAD I LOST MY BRAKES 10 SECOND SOONER I WOULD HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO STOP AND CAUSED A POTENTIALLY FATAL CAR ACCIDENT.

THE DISPLAY INDICATED SERVICE TRAIIER BRAKE SYSTEM, SERVICE ESC, BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE, AND CEL. I POWERED THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTARTED IT. THE CEL REMAINED ON. THE OTHER LIGHTS WENT AWAY. THE BRAKES APPEARED TO WORK BETTER BUT WHEN I APPLIED THEM I EXPERIENCED A JERKING MOTION. I CALLED MY LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP, PRINCE CHEVROLET, LEDO RD. ALBANY, GA. I SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT THAT YIELDED NO RESOLUTION AS MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINED ON WHEN I LEFT THE APPOINTMENT AND IS STILL ON NOW. I WAS TOLD THAT THE PROBLEM "MIGHT" BE A RESULT OF STARTING MY VEHICLE USING THE "MY CHEVROLET" MOBILE APP. I WAS INFORMED THAT NOTHING WAS DONE TO REPAIR THE ISSUE AS THEY DIDN'T KNOW EXACTLY HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM AT THIS TIME. I WAS INFORMED THAT THE TECH DID FIND A SERVICE BULLETIN AND BASED UPON THE CONTENTS THEREOF, I WAS ADVISED NOT TO USE THE APP ANYMORE. I IMMEDIATELY SCHEDULED AN APPT WITH MY LOCAL CHEVY DEALER TO GET THIS RECALL FIXED. I TOOK IT IN ON 12/17. I HAD TO LEAVE THE TRUCK OVERNIGHT. I PICKED IT UP ON 12/18. ON 12/20, AFTER LEAVING THE MOVIES WITH MY FAMILY, I HAD A TOTAL BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE - ON CITY STREET. MY DASH LIT UP WITH ABS, CEL AND WARNINGS SUCH AS "BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE 62 MPH TOP SPEED". WHEN I TRIED TO APPLY MY BRAKES, THEY WERE STIFF AND DID NOT STOP THE TRUCK IMMEDIATELY. THEY WERE VERY HARD TO PUSH IN. I WAS ABLE TO LIMP HOME. I TOOK MY TRUCK BACK TO THE DEALER THE NEXT MORNING 12/21. THEY HAD IT FOR A WEEK UNTIL THE FOLLOWING SATURDAY 12/28. THEY SAID GM TOLD THEM THE ISSUE WAS LOOSE BATTERY CABLES THAT INTERFERED WITH THE BRAKING SYSTEM. THEY TIGHTENED THEM AND SHOULD BE GOOD TO GO. I PICKED MY TRUCK UP THAT DAY. THAT NIGHT, AFTER LEAVING A BASKETBALL GAME WITH MY FAMILY, THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN - COMPLETE BRAKING SYSTEM FAILURE - AFTER TURNING TRUCK ON. I RETURNED MY TRUCK TO THE DEALER ON THE 30TH WHERE IT IS STILL SITTING. THEY TOLD ME GM SAID NOT TO RELEASE THE TRUCK BACK TO OWNER UNTIL ENGINEERS FIGURE OUT THE ISSUE. I HAVE OPENED A CASE WITH GM CASE # [XXX]. I HAVE GONE THROUGH 2 DIFFERENT AGENTS - NEITHER OF WHICH HAVE OFFERED ANY UPDATES. I PROCEEDED TO DRIVE DOWN THE STREET I LIVE ON TO A MAJOR ROAD AND WENT STRAIGHT INTO CROSS TRAFFIC BECAUSE THE TRUCK WOULD NOT STOP. I NEARLY DIED FROM A SNOW PLOW COMING. I PUMPED THE BRAKES ONCE I DIDN'T FEEL THEM WORKING AND IT FELT LIKE I WAS PUSHING ON A CEMENT BLOCK. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AS I HAVE COME CLOSE TO DYING IN A RECALLED COBALT BEFORE BOW I HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THIS TRUCK SINCE THERES NO ACTIVE RECALL-JUST LIKE THE COBALT!!! I WAS ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE AND AGAIN, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT EASILY STOPPING. I HAD NUMEROUS DASHBOARD DISPLAYS. I TOOK PICTURES OF THE DISPLAYED ITEMS. I CALLED RICK HENDRICK CHEVROLET AT 6:53 PM ON 12/19/19 AND SINCE I LIVE CLOSE DROPPED IT OFF AT THE DEALER, AS I WAS HEADED OUT OF TOWN SUNDAY AND WANTED THIS FIXED. SO.... HERE COMES THE ISSUE BESIDES IT NOT STOPPING THAT I AM EVEN MORE FIRED UP ABOUT! THE SERVICE GUY, CALLED ME FRIDAY MORNING TO SAY THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. NOW, WITH THE DISPLAY SAYING SERVICE ESC, TRAILER BRAKE SYSTEM, AND BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE NOT TO GO ABOVE 62 MPH, I AM PRETTY SURE IT TRIGGERED AN CODE AND WOULD BE IN CODE HISTORY. I TOLD HIM I HAD PICTURES OF THE DASH DISPLAY AND THAT THEY NEEDED TO CHECK THE CODE HISTORY. HE TOLD ME AT ONE POINT IT WAS THE VACUUM, BUT THEN TOLD ME THAT THE VACUUM WAS AN ISSUE WITH LAST YEARS MODEL. AND THAT HE WAS HAVING HIS MASTER TECHNICIAN LOOK AT IT. AROUND 4 PM ON FRIDAY, WITH A FAMILY TRIP COMING UP SUNDAY 12/22/19 AND NOT HEARING ANYTHING I CALLED A FEW TIMES TO FIND OUT IF I NEEDED TO RENT A CAR OR THEY COULD GET ME A LOANER. I GOT A CALL AROUND 5:13 PM ON 12/19/19 TELLING ME IT'S READY AND THEY REINSTALLED THE SOFTWARE AND THE MASTER TECHNICIAN DROVE IT. SAID HE IS COMFORTABLE. I WAS SCARED THEN AND SCARED NOW TO PUT THEM BACK IN THAT VEHICLE.

AND I'M BEING TOLD THAT PARTS ARE BACK ORDERED.

TRUCK WENT INTO LIMP MODE DISPLAYING BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE SPEED LIMITED TO 62 MPH. LIMPED TRUCK TO DEALERSHIP APPROXIMATELY 2 MILES. EVERY TIME I HAD TO STOP I HAD TO PUMP THE BRAKES TWICE AND ON THE SECOND TIME THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED I WOULD GAIN APPROXIMATELY 50% BRAKING POWER. TRUCK HAS ALREADY HAD ALL RECALLS PERFORMED AND SPECIFICALLY, THE RECALLS RELATED TO "FIXING" THIS EXACT ISSUE. DEALER PUT THE TRUCK ON THE COMPUTER AND EXPLAINED ONLY A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAD BEEN ACTIVATED DUE TO THE BRAKE SYSTEM BUT COULDN'T SAY WHAT HAPPENED. DEALER ATTEMPTED TO HAVE ME DRIVE THE TRUCK HOME, 40 MILES ON THE FREEWAY, AND BRING BACK IN 3 DAYS FOR AN APPOINTMENT. FEELING THIS WAS AN UNSAFE OPTION I REQUESTED THEY KEEP THE TRUCK UNTIL IT COULD BE THOROUGHLY INVESTIGATED AND TO PUT ME IN A LOANER OR PROVIDE TRANSPORTATION WHICH THEY DID.

STOPPED AND STARTED 3 TIMES, RESET THE VEHICLE A FEW TIMES. PRIOR TO A BIG DOWNHILL, THE LAST RESTART CLEARED THE ISSUE AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. DROVE HOME AND PARKED. TO BE HONEST, FELT UNSAFE TO DRIVE ESPECIALLY WITH MY SON AND WIFE IN THE CAR. LUCKILY WE ONLY HAD A SHORT 3 MILES HOME. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON ONSTAR REPORT RECEIVED IN EMAIL

THE TRUCK ALSO HAD TWO RECALLS THAT NEEDED TO BE ADDRESSED. ACCORDING TO THE DOCUMENTATION THEY CHECKED THE BRAKES AND FOUND NOTHING WRONG. MY MAJOR CONCERN IS WHAT IF THIS HAPPENS AGAIN ON A BUSY HIGHWAY OR STREET? MY FAMILIES SAFETY IS NOTHING TO BE DISMISSIVE ABOUT.

BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE. SERVICE TRAILER BRAKE SYSTEM. SERVICE ESC. TURNED THE TRUCK OFF THEN BACK ON. NO CHANGE SAME CODES. PROCEEDED TO GET THE TRUCK BACK HOME WHEN I NOTICED I HAD ALMOST NO BRAKES. AFTER RESTARTING THE VEHICLE, IT SEEMED THAT THE BRAKES WERE WORKING AGAIN SO I TRIED TO MAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP (ABOUT 1.5 MILES AWAY). ACCELERATING BACK UP TO SPEED WAS VERY JUMPY - ALMOST AS IF THE ENGINE WAS BEING STARVED. AFTER GETTING UP TO ABOUT 35 MPH, THE BRAKES ENGAGED INTERMITTENTLY WITHOUT ME TOUCHING THE BRAKE PEDAL. I PULLED BACK OVER AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE REST OF THE WAY TO THE DEALERSHIP. WHILE STOPPED AND ENGINE IDLING, I OBSERVED A VERY NOTICEABLE KNOCK COMING FROM THE ENGINE. THE DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AND IS REPLACING THE MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER AND LIFTERS IN THE ENGINE. THIS FAILURE WAS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND I WAS LUCKY THAT IT DID NOT CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.

ON OR ABOUT SEPTEMBER 14, 2019, THE VEHICLE LOST BRAKE FUNCTION WHEN EXITING OUT OF A SHOPPING CENTER ONTO A MAIN STREET. THIS TOO ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT AS THE TRUCK WOULD NOT STOP DESPITE USING THE EMERGENCY POWER BRAKE. ALL INCIDENTS HAD MY CHILDREN PRESENT.

ON JUNE 16TH 2019 I DROVE DOWN TO ATLANTA, GA FOR A BASEBALL GAME. MIDWAY I STOPPED FOR GAS. WHEN I TURNED BACK ON THE TRUCK, I REALIZED THAT I HAD LOST A AND IF I GET AN AMOUNT OF MY BRAKING ABILITY. HOWEVER, I HAD NO LIGHTS ON MU DASH TO INDICATE A FAILURE TO THE BRAKING SYSTEM. I READ ON A GM FORUM THAT OTHER OWNERS EXPERIENCED THE PROBLEM, TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE FOR 30 MINS, TURNED BACK ON THE VEHICLE AND THE BRAKES WORKED AGAIN. THEY, HOWEVER, HAD LIGHTS INDICATING A BRAKE FAILURE. I FOLLOWED THE FORUMS SUGGESTIONS AND AFTER 30 MINS WITH MY TRUCK OFF, I DROVE THE TRUCK AGAIN AND HAD NO FURTHER ISSUES. I TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT, BUT AS I EXPECTED THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE. I WANTED TO START A PAPER TRAIL THOUGH INCASE THE ISSUE REOCCURRED. ON JULY 10TH THE SAME BRAKING ISSUE OCCURRED AGAIN. THIS TIME I WAS NEAR MY DEALERSHIP IN GREENVILLE, SC. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY WERE ABLE TO CONFIRM A LOSS OF OVER 50% OF BRAKING BUT NO LIGHTS OR CHECK ENGINE CODE (PAST OR PRESENT) INDICATING A BRAKE FAILURE. I AM VERY CONCERNED AND BELIEVE THIS TRUCK IS UNSAFE BECAUSE OF THE BRAKING ISSUES AND LACK OF CONFIRMATION OF SERVICE LIGHTS ON THE TRUCK DASH. IT IS A DEATH TRAP. THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM A FIX EITHER DUE TO NOT HAVING A SERVICE ERROR CODE TO FIX AND TURN OFF. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WHEN ISSUES OCCURRED BOTH TIMES. AFTER THAT THE TRUCK IS BACK TO NORMAL UNTIL IT HAPPENS AGAIN. I HAVE OWNED THE TRUCK FOR 2 1/2 MONTHS AND SEEMS TO HAPPENS ONCE A MONTH SO FAR.

TODAY 1/29/2019 WHILE ATTEMPTING TO COME TO A STOP AT AN INTERSECTION, THE BRAKE PEDAL BECAME VERY SPONGY AND I ROLLED INTO THE INTERSECTION BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO FULLY COMPRESS THE PEDAL ALMOST TO THE FLOOR, ANY OWNER OF THIS TRUCK KNOW'S HOW RESPONSIVE THE BRAKE SYSTEM IS AND IT ONLY TAKES A SLIGHT TOUCH TO COME TO A FULL QUICK STOP. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE TODAY, I DROVE IT BACK TO MY SHOP AND THE ENTIRE 10 MIN. DRIVE IT REPEATED THIS FAILURE. I GOT BACK TO MY SHOP AND CALLED CHEVY AND THEY TOLD ME TO BRING IT IN TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT. ON THE WAY TO THE DEALERSHIP, I COULD NOT GET IT TO REPRODUCE THIS BEHAVIOR.
