Vehicle simply died in the middle of an intersection and blocked the roadway for an extended period of time before being towed back to dealer. Engine failure confirmed, replacement has been ordered
Thrust bearing failure at 11,945 miles requiring complete engine replacement.
Engine safety concern. Grinding and clunking while engine is running and gets worse under load or when accelerating. Have taken into dealer for service over 6 times. Recall service was performed and their fix was to change to a thicker oil but all that caused was worse fuel economy, more expensive oil changes, and the noises have become worse. Going back to dealer next week for another attempt. Have requested lemon replacement with GM but they are denying any issue.
Vehicle: 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 High Country Engine: 6.2L L87 V8 Recall: N252494001 – L87 Engine Loss of Propulsion I am submitting this complaint to report a serious safety defect involving my 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 High Country related to NHTSA Safety Recall N252494001 (L87 Engine – Loss of Propulsion). My vehicle experienced a sudden engine failure consistent with the conditions described in the recall, resulting in loss of propulsion. Due to this failure, General Motors authorized a full engine replacement at an authorized GMC dealership. After the engine replacement was completed, the replacement engine also failed in the same manner as the original engine, again resulting in loss of propulsion. This second failure occurred despite the vehicle being repaired according to General Motors’ recall procedures and specifications. Loss of propulsion creates a significant safety risk, especially while driving at highway speeds or in traffic, as it can lead to sudden power loss without warning and increases the risk of a crash. Despite the replacement engine failing in the same way as the original recalled engine, General Motors is now refusing to replace the second failed engine or provide a permanent remedy. As a result, my vehicle remains unsafe to operate and unresolved under the existing safety recall. I am concerned that the recall remedy is inadequate and that replacement engines may also contain the same defect, creating an ongoing safety hazard. I am requesting that NHTSA review this matter to determine whether the recall repair is effective and whether additional corrective action is necessary to protect vehicle owners.
Regarding Recall Repair on My Truck To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally express my frustration and concern regarding the recent service performed on my truck, which I purchased pre-owned from Tropical Chevrolet with only 4,700 miles. 9 months after my purchase, the vehicle received a manufacturer recall involving the motor, requiring a full engine replacement. I brought the truck to Bomnin Chevrolet West Kendall for the recall repair, expecting that it would be handled correctly and at no cost to me, especially since the truck was running perfectly before the recall work. After the motor was replaced, I was informed that the Air intake manifold currently on the truck is “not original.” This Air intake manifold was already installed when I bought the truck from Tropical Chevrolet, and I was never informed of any aftermarket or non-original parts at the time of purchase. Now, after Bomnin Chevrolet completed the recall repair, the truck has a check-engine light, and I am being told I must pay approximately $900 to change it for original air intake manifold to remove the check engine warning light. I think the mecanic took out the program.from the computer and Now they want me to pay. This is unacceptable for the following reasons: 1. The truck had no check engine warning lights and was running properly before the recall repair. 2. The Air intake manifold was already on the truck when I purchased it from Tropical Chevrolet. 3. I never approved or installed any non-original parts. 4. Bomnin Chevrolet removed and reinstalled the parts during the recall repair. 5. I should not be held financially responsible for problems created during the recall repair process. I am requesting that this matter be reviewed and resolved immediately by Bomnin Chevrolet West Kendall. The truck should be returned to me in the same conditions I gave it to them and the recall fix.Thank You Regards, Rafael Lafee
For the first time I purchased a brand new vehicle off a dealership lot…What a mistake. While the dealership itself was an awful experience I thought it was worth it for a Chevy Silverado. After all my previous one was so reliable. WRONG. The first issue I found was I was unable to shift into reverse to back out of the driveway of a fire station I volunteer at. After driving forward a couple times and shutting the vehicle off and shifting multiple times I had to be towed out in reverse. I was able to drive home but the transmissions slipped once and the vehicle slowed abruptly. The check engine light was now on. I dropped the vehicle off at the dealership over the weekend and on Monday they called and informed me the 2024 Silverado misfired once and nothing was wrong with the transmission. There was nothing they could do. About two months later I was driving to work as a career firefighter/paramedic when my vehicles check engine light came on and a message informed me that I was in “reduced acceleration mode”. I slowly and carefully made my way to work and brought the truck to the dealership after my shift. The check engine light was now on again. They informed me later that day that I had a faulty valve body in my transmission. They “unfortunately” could not give me a completion date on my repair as they had no ETA for the replacement part. It appears the part is in high demand. This makes sense as a quick google search shows this is a widely known issue with the 10 speed transmission. So far I have been unable to get a rental vehicle between the dealership and GM. Aside from my house my 2024 Silverado is the largest purchase of my life. And at 15,000 miles I am without it for the foreseeable future. As a first responder the communities I serve depend on me to respond from home at any hour. My family and I are living in a DIY renovation while also starting a farm business. I need a dependable vehicle and regret spending $53,000 on a new vehicle. I have more to say.
Per the dealer, catastrophic engine failure.
The coolant control valve and the transmission control module are having to be replaced on thousands of Silverado 1500s from 2022 to 2025. Both parts have been updated, but there is no recall and many people are being left stranded due to this. Mine has not currently failed, but I am older and really don’t want to get stranded due to a known issue. Why wouldn’t they have been forced to do a recall General Motors should be replacing these as a preemptive precaution.
[XXX] , a long-time Chevrolet customer and GM Family First Program participant, reports a recurring, life-threatening defect in his 2024 Chevrolet ZR2 3.0 Diesel truck. The issue centers on repeated fuel injector failures that have caused the vehicle to become uncontrollable while driving, posing serious safety risks to his family and others on the road. Despite multiple incidents and documented repairs, Chevrolet has failed to provide a permanent solution or meaningful customer support. Mr. [XXX] is requesting NHTSA’s intervention to investigate the defect and hold GM accountable. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
We have had four previously documented issues with the electrical, brake and engine in our truck. Today, we were advised by the dealer that the truck had been fixed, and a new ECM had been installed. They advised they drove the truck for 100 miles and there were no issues. We picked the truck up and on the way home, while on the highway, the truck went into low power mode, the brakes went out, the check engine light and slip light came on. The dash began flashing detection warning lights (see attached photos): Brake system failure 62 MPH top speed, Service steering column lock, Reduced Acceleration drive with care, Service ESC, Service traction control. We immediately turned around and went back to the dealership and showed them what was going on. They took photographs and had the technician come out to look at the vehicle. He looked at the lights and codes and admitted he does not know what is going on. The service manager said that the company representative was coming tomorrow (10/21/25) and that he was going to speak with him and recommend a buyback. We left the truck with the dealer and were given a loaner car. This is the 5th incident with the same issues.
I have a 2024 Silverado 1500 Z71. I purchased new, within the first month I started experiencing issues related to the fuel. Stalling, dying, missing at idle and failing to start. I’ve reported it to the dealerships, with the same response unable to duplicate. Sept 22, 2025 I was driving alone rounding a curve in the road when my vehicle lost complete power causing me to loose control crashing into trees. I was unharmed physically, but mentally this hurt. To know this all could have been avoided had Chevy customer service or the dealerships listen and looked at the dtc that were clearly shown. P3187 fuel pump pressure performance low pressure. Stated failed since last cleared. Dealership did not acknowledge or discuss with me this dtc. Instead they gave me a multi point inspection stating unable to duplicate. There negligence caused me to wreck
There is a safety recall on my truck and dealer wont take it in to address the issue. I have been trying for months and they say that they are waiting for guidance from GM. We don't feel safe driving the truck. Asked for GM to buy it back and they denied, told me to find another GM service center. I tried another and they said the same thing. I'm running in circles and shouldn't be forced to drive an unsafe truck that is ~1 year old.
GM is not handle this recall in a timely manner. They are refusing to inspect vehicle to see of there are any defects. This is concerning, as based on the recall notice, the engine may fail at anytime. This could cause a crash or leave me or my wife stranded on some road. My dealer would do the inspection but to do the inspection but they said they are not allowed until I have gotten "permission" from GM. This is a safety concern for me and my family and GM is not handling this appropriately. An immediate inspection should be done ensuring if the vehicle is safe to drive.
On [XXX] at around [XXX], the vehicle a fee a metal clinking noise then suddenly lost power and stalled in the middle of the road([XXX] , Del Mar, CA 92014). After stepping on the gas pedal a couple times, there was no response and no power. The dashboard displayed "engine and transmission problem" and contacted dealership immediately. The vehicle was finally towed to the dealership the next day. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Engine was making noise and ultimately stopped responding when I would push the gas, leaving me stranded on the side of the road. Luckily, I was able to get the vehicle off the road in time to not cause an accident. The vehicle could have stalled and seized up in the middle of the highway. This problem has been confirmed by the dealer in the attached work order invoices. It has not been inspected by anyone other than the Mountain Chevrolet dealership, to my knowledge. The dealership has the vehicle running again, but is not able to confirm if the 'new' engine in my vehicle is the one address the recall issue, reference number N252494000. Additionally, this vehicle broke down again two months later for a related issue per the additional service invoice attached. For all of these, GM has not been willing to pay for the full value of the rentals for each service, totaling over 60 days without my vehicle. I've requested this through the GM Customer Care to no avail. I would also like to receive confirmation that the 'repaired' engine in my vehicle resolves this open recall concern. I've been stranded on the side of the road twice now with this newer vehicle and would love some assurance from them. At a minimum I want GM to pay for the full value of the rental cars. For the record, I also requested GM buy-back the vehicle which they have rejected my request. Any help you can provide is appreciated. Thank you.
The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds on several occasions, the vehicle stalled. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road, and the vehicle was restarted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the fuel pump and the fuel pump module were replaced; however, the failure worsened. The contact stated that while driving at 45 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to pull over to the side road. The vehicle failed to restart and was towed to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 7,500.

These incidents are unrelated: 1) Multiple times the Adaptive cruise brakes when no object is in front of the vehicle. Almost causing the vehicle behind to rear end you. 2) Engine failure while driving.
i have a 2024 Silverado 6.2L. while driving the engine made some scratching/chirping sounds. then it felt like the wheels locked up momentarily. when i got pulled over the engine was chirping and slightly knocking. then the engine stalled. I know there is an active recall for 2021 to 2024 L87 6.2L engines, but the recall did not show up on my vin. everything i read states that any L87 produced after June of 2024 was not affected but my engine is damaged just like the ones in the recall.
07/28/2025 10:35am, We had just pulled onto an Interstate ramp and the engine powered down and the dashboard began flashing errors, service engine soon light came on. The following errors were displayed: Reduce speed to 62 mph, brake system failure, Service traction control, Service ESC, Service steering column lock, Trailer brakes disabled service required. I had no brakes and had to pump them to get stopped. I was able to pull to the side of the road and shut off the engine. I called dealer and reported issue as this occurred last Tuesday. They advised to bring the vehicle in at 0800 tomorrow. I restarted the vehicle and system reset and I was able to continue. At 12:58pm, I pulled off the interstate ramp onto a county road and the engine powered down again and displayed the same errors. The brakes did not fail this time and I was able to get home.
On Tuesday we pulled out into traffic and the truck shuddered and I heard a pop. The air conditioner went out and then a plethora of warnings along with the service engine light popped up on the dash. The brakes stopped working and the truck went into a low idle almost causing the vehicle behind us to rear end us. Error messages were as follows: Brake failure do not go above 62mph, trailer brake failure, steering column needs serviced, service ecs and several others. I was able to get the vehicle back home and called for service at Green Chevy in Peoria, IL I was able to shut the vehicle off and restart it and all error codes were gone. I spoke with the dealer and took it to them. They advised it was a module issue and would reprogram it. It took 2 days and my vehicle is back.
Component/System Failed: Power Train – specifically, the #6 lifter failed and is available for inspection upon request. Safety Risk: The failure caused noticeable engine misfiring, loss of power, and abnormal ticking sounds, which could potentially lead to engine stalling while driving. This creates a serious safety risk, especially during highway driving or merging situations. Confirmation of Problem: The issue was confirmed by a certified GM dealership technician, who diagnosed the failure of the #6 lifter. They advised that the lifter and potentially the camshaft need replacement. Inspection: The vehicle has been inspected by the dealership service department. No inspection has been conducted by police or insurance at this time. Warning Signs: Prior to failure, there were no warning lamps. However, the vehicle began exhibiting a noticeable ticking noise followed by rough idling and reduced performance approximately 71,000 miles.

We took our vehicle to Weber Chevrolet in Granite City, Il on June 26 for an oil change. My husband and I purchased the vehicle on [XXX] from this dealership. We asked if they could put a heavier oil in the vehicle due to this being as one of the remedial fixes for the recall. The service department manager informed us that they would not be able to do this due to it voiding our warranty. They could not give a general answer as to when they will address the recall. My husband and I have safety concerns about taking this vehicle cross country for a family vacation at the end of July. We have decided to trade the vehicle in for a different model due to the uncertainty of the recall. Appallingly, no dealership, including the Chevy dealership we bought it from , is willing to take our 9 month old truck as a trade. We were informed by three separate dealerships that the car is basically worthless and they are not willing to have it sit on their lots depreciating until the recall is complete. It is completely unacceptable that we, as consumers, are stuck with a vehicle that has a potential safety risk. The car has already depreciated by $10,000 according to Kelly Blue Book. We have filed a complaint with the BBB, Illinois States Attorney Office, and with General Motors. General Motors informed me on July 2 that they will not address the recall until an issue occurs. If an issue occurs then they will address it at that time. Furthermore , they are not willing to buy the vehicle back, attempt to see if the engine is fine, nor willing to allow us to trade for another GMC vehicle. We are at a loss as far as our safety, loss of investment, and lack of any help from General Motors. I am adding screen shots of my communication with the general manager from Weber Chevrolet, jimmy Mckechan. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
6.2 L engine around 7500 miles engine light came on, it was slow to startup, would shutter during idel. Driving home on the highway the truck turned off cruise control and front impact warning then it came back on about 5 miles down the road. At the same time the truck was shaking and shuttering. Took it into the shop the next day and so far is having at least one maybe 2 cylinders misfiring. Also, since I bought it the axle locks keep saying to service them, take the truck to the dealership and they can't find anything wrong with them. The only way to get the indicator to stop dinging incessantly is to active the axle locks and deactivate them and that will make it stop dinging for about a week.
Recall in place and truck shows recall, multiple appointments made and canceled. Dealer unwilling to handle recall to ensure safety and remove safety recall attached to my vin. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The vehicle currently has 25,871 miles and is burning approximately 2 quarts of motor oil every 3500 miles (oil life indicator at 53%)
Driving home, vehicle jolted, came to stop. Engine making metallic noise and would not start. Had to have vehicle towed to dealership. Dealership confirmed engine blew due to internal failure.

I was driving on the highway passing an 18-wheeler, my truck started making a noice. I hit my hazards and heard others hitting their brakes as I moved for the shoulder. My engine failed and my truck is at the dealership waiting for a new motor and radiator. No warning lamps or messages.
The engine failed and had catastrophic damage. As I was driving it on the highway at speeds of 65 mph the vehicle started loosing power and shaking violently in the middle of driving it. Therefore putting my life and other life’s in danger. After a couple miles the Electronic stability control light came on and the traction control light came on. Also the check engine light came on. Vehicle only has 7500 miles and was driven daily without any mistreatment. The dealer confirmed that the vehicle had catastrophic damage. It had metal shavings inside the oil system. The dealer confirmed the next day that it was worse than when I took it in and they weren’t even able to move it to the engine bay.
I was going 70 in the fast lane on [XXX] near birmingham, Al; when my 2024 Silverado lost propulsion, electrical and power steering. I was forced to move 3 lanes over to the emergency lane or wreck off to the left. When it lost propulsion i lost turn signals and power steering. They are going to attempt to fix it, but engines are on backorder. Regardless if it is fixed, the thing almost killed me. There's no way I'm going to be driving that thing. This issue was confirmed at the dealership and no warning lights came up on the screen prior to losing propulsion. While driving in traffic, car was making weird shifts and strange noises. The engine suddenly lost all power. I tried to restart and the car wouldn't turn over. I tried again and it finally turned over after struggling.
Vehicle has 19299 miles and engine started rattling on deceleration and making clicking and knocking noises. Engine simply stopped working on the highway on the way to Chevy Maintenance. Couldn’t even shift to neutral to get it on the tow truck. It had to be dragged up the ramp. The the clicking and knocking to engine failure happened in one day. Now my truck is sitting in Chevrolet waiting on an engine which is on back order. So I’ll be without a truck that I’m making 1800/mo payments on (took 36 month loan) and can’t even reduce my insurance to comprehensive due to being at a maintenance lot. Bottom line, I have a new undriveable truck with no date available as to when I’ll even get it back. It’s been suggested one to two months…

I was cruising on [XXX] with about 55MPH, and the engine suddenly shut off without any indication. I had to turn on emergency light and came to a full stop in the traffic to restart the engine. It was a route with very heavy traffic in New Jersey, and the lost of power was very scaring and exposed me to a very serious safety risk. My 2024 Chevy Silverado Trailboss with the 6.2 engine has had engine tick since it had about 1200 miles on it, I brought it into the dealer where I purchased it and they determined nothing was wrong with it, now today, the noise is way worse, so I called local dealership to my area, with this engine recall on the 6.2’s, the service guy I spoke with said GM has not come up with a remedy yet so there is nothing they can do about it. I asked them what I’m supposed to do, he said keep driving it until it locks up, I asked him if he was serious and he said yes, drive it until it locks up then have it towed to dealership, if they have a loaner I might get one, I said it’s a safety issue if it locks up on the highway or in traffic, he said yep, drive it until it locks up! GM has had 2 buy back programs on this and they still do not have a fix?
On April 25, 2025, I was driving on the expressway to work when my 2024 Chevy Silverado 6.2 liter suddenly lost all power. I had to coast from the 3rd lane to the off ramp to get out of other vehicles. My truck was towed to Garber Chererolet in Webster NY, at an expense to me. On April 28, 2025, I was informed by the service manager at Gar er Chevrolet that my Chevy Silverado, 6.2 liter motor blew up and needed a new motor. Later on during the course of that day on April 28, 2025, I learned of, on a national media platform, that General Motors initiated a recall for the 6.2 liter motors that were defective not only for Chevrolet products but all GM products with the 6.2 liter motor in them. Unfortunately I never received a recall notice by the Chevy app, email, USPS Mail or any other means of communication. On Tuesday April 29, 2025, I initiated a claim with General Motors Customer Service Care. This is very very bad, knowingly that there were issues for years with the 6.2 liter motor. I've driven Chevrolet my whole entire adult life because I believe in the product. However, I am going to reconsider my buying options immediately due to the incompetence and negligence of General Motors. This is a serious offense, not only against me but for the whole general population that drive these vehicles. GM pute and all in a very serious situation that could have led to serious physical injury or death itself! Now General Motors tells me that I have to wait between 2 and 3 months for a new 6.2 liter motor because it's on back order. This is not acceptable in no way for myself or anyone else. I will be joining the class action lawsuit against General Motors and all the incompetent executives who knowingly and egregiously hid this from the general public, their customers, including myself. I am beyond angry and have zero confidence in GM going forward.
It happened to me twice but the first time I was driving on the highway with my family and without warning my engine cut off and I had a message that said “press start button to restart”. I coasted to the shoulder, put the truck in park, and was able to restart. I took it to my dealership where they ran codes and nothing wrong with the engine showed. About 2 weeks later I was taking my kids to daycare and had just exited the highway when my engine cut out again. I pulled up to the 4 way stop sign intersection and tried to restart the truck but it was completely dead and I was stranded in the middle of the intersection with my 3 and 1 year old. The truck threw an engine light this time. I tried to get the truck out of the intersection but the gear was stuck in park and wouldn’t shift to neutral. I then had the truck towed to my dealership where it has been since.
While merging onto the fast lane of the highway i experienced a "press push start to restart" alarm and total loss of power as I went to accelerate and merge with traffic. It was almost like the truck was in neutral but pedal would not even increase the rmp. There was no shoulder and I was forced to stop and restart my vehicle between the onramp and the fast lane. Im fortunate to not have ended up in a bad rear end accident. It did the same a half mile later where atleast I had a shoulder to pull off onto this time. Check engine light threw up a camshaft position sensor fault

Sudden Engine failure, metal shavings found in oil at 16K miles. GM and the dealer acknowledges that the 6.2L motor has been having issues. They state that they are currently investigating but a "fix" of the issue has NOT been made. The motor was replaced under warranty, however, the engine they replaced it with has the same chance of failing as the original engine. There was no warning, no indications prior the the motor seizing up at a red light
The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH, the vehicle stalled and failed to respond. There were no warning lights illuminated; however, the message “Reduced Acceleration – Proceed with Care” was displayed. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer and was scanned; however, no DTC was retrieved. The dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to an emissions system failure and was concerned because there was no notification on the regen of the diesel engine. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 11,000.

The vehicle was steered to the side of the road, where it stalled. The vehicle was not able to restart. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 12,794.

I had a engine failure in my 2024 Chevy Silverrado Trail Boss1500. I had just exited off the highway and came to a complete stop at the stoplight. When the light turned green, I hit the gas pedal and I did not move. I looked down at my gear shifter and noticed the truck was in park (I did not shift the truck into park). I tried to put the truck into drive and realized the engine was not running. I tried starting the truck and it would not start. The truck would crank, but would not start up. I tried this several times with no luck getting truck started. I even tried to put the truck in neutral to get the truck out of the middle of the road and could not get it neutral to move it. I called chevy roadside to tow it to the dealer. The dealership called me on tuesday and said the engine had blown because of a bearing failure and engine needs replaced. Also, they have not let me know approx time I will get my truck back. They claim there's a shortages of engines on the 6.2 liter engine.
The truck suddenly and completely shut down while I was driving on the highway, with no warning signs before the total power loss. This unexpected failure put me in a dangerous situation. The vehicle had to be towed to the dealership where it was purchased, and after inspection, the dealer informed me that the engine had completely failed and now requires a full replacement.
While driving my vehicle on the highway I was exiting when I looked down at the instrument panel it stated a message along the lines of shifting to neutral and to press the ignition to restart engine. I noticed the vehicle wasn’t accelerating when attempting so I slowed down and did what it instructed me to do. The engine then wouldn’t start, I was uneasy because cars were coming from behind at a decent speed because of morning traffic. I somehow managed to get it to crank and took it to the dealer right away. They stated it was from low voltage and were replacing the battery under warranty. I didn’t think that was the cause but gave them the benefit of the doubt. 2 weeks later while taking my family out, the same incident happened. I wasn’t able to get it to crank and had to get it towed to the dealer. They stated it was the engine because now the engine was making a loud sound when ignited. It is about to be 4 weeks without vehicle and no repair has been made due to no inventory on engines.
Was pulling out onto the road from sitting at a traffic light, vehicle was going less than 25mph when the engine made a clunk trying to shift and the check engine light came on. Computer software indicated “limp mode with reduced acceleration activated.” Vehicle wouldn’t accelerate above 35mph, had to drive on major highway to get to dealership. Truck is only used as commuter vehicle hasn’t towed anything. Dealership indicated valve body transmission failed with vehicle only have 9k miles on it. Part is on back order as it is being manufactured due to installed faulty part, problem has been going on in 2023/2024 Chevy and gmc trucks since January 2024 without a recall put in place. Problem is being fixed after the part fails and the truck fails to run at optimal valves. According to forums software update were installed versus recalls to the actually valve body part being. I was sold a truck in sept 2024 with a faulty installed part versus it being fixed before it was purchased. This caused me to be stranded 1500 miles away from my home and we were not made aware of the know valve body transmission issue. The information was covered up versus being disclosed.
Experienced sudden engine failure while driving on the interstate. Mileage on the vehicle is 11,635. Engine has been maintained as per manufacturers recommendations. Currently at dealership awaiting engine replacement. Was informed that main locking cap for crankshaft came apart, resulting in a hole in the engine block with sudden loss of oil and oil pressure. Currently replacement engines are not available as GM has had a large number of 6.2 L engines that have similarly failed. Dealer cannot provide information on when replacement will be available.
On [XXX] at [XXX] while driving at highway speeds (70-75 mph) on [XXX] , I experienced engine failure in my 2024 chevy silerado zr2. Within seconds, the truck began to lose engine power, the check engine light came on, a transmission warning displayed, the truck shook violently and lost electrical power and power steering. I was able to get to the shoulder in less than a minute and the truck shut down completely. After exiting the truck, I observed smoke, the smell of fire and engine oil/ fluids all over the ground. There were no warning lights or symptoms prior to the engine failing. The sudden loss of power and power steering could have resulted in an accident. The vehicle has been inspected by a certified chevy dealer and they have verbally confirmed engine failure. i have not been provided any documentation or formal updates on the process. While driving on the interstate at 75 MPH, the vehicle lost all motive power. No warning light was illuminated. I pulled over to the right side of the road and attempted to restart the vehicle; however, the vehicle failed to respond as needed. It was -30 degrees outside and it was dark. I had passengers in my vehicle, and we were stuck with no power or heat on the interstate. The vehicle could not be put into neutral to be moved off the interstate because there was the vehicle would not turn on. This was an extremely unsafe and dangerous situation for me and my passengers. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the engine was damaged and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and the contact was informed that the engine was not available for replacement. The vehicle is still at the dealership and has been there for 2 months. The approximate failure mileage was approx. 19,000 miles.
My name is [XXX] and I currently own a 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 ZR2 Truck with a 6.2 lt motor. On [XXX], my truck failed me at which point it had to be towed by road side assistance to Sun Chevy in Chittenango NY. While at the dealer I was advised that my Truck engine 6.2 is bad that the crank shaft bearing failed and further piston rods failed and it would need to be replaced. Two days following I received a call and was advised by the dealer (Sun Chevy) that GM advised the dealer to rebuild the engine. Once that was completed 10 days later the dealer contacted me and stated that the motor does not sound right and there were further problems. I was also advised by the dealer that this is a known problem with 6.2 motors and GM is aware of it. On (3-14-2025) I was told by Sun Chevy that the 6.2 motors are on backorder and I would have to wait approx 6 to 9 months. This truck is not even 1 year old and this is not acceptable in any way. I am paying on a truck that is not operable. I have always been a faithful Chevy owner however I cannot wait this long after buying a New Truck. I called GM to discuss options moving forward and them replacing my Truck. I can be contacted at [XXX], or [XXX]. According to GM This issue has been assigned a case number and that as far as it has gone. My famiky vacation now has to be cancelled as we were going to be traveling in the Truck and the Dealer stated that the loaner vehicle cannot leave the state. This is a complete mess. Any assistance would be appreciated. Respectfully, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH, the gear shift independently shifted into neutral, and the vehicle lost motive power. No warning light was illuminated. The contact pulled over to the right side of the road and attempted to restart the vehicle; however, the vehicle failed to respond as needed. An undisclosed dealer was contacted. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the engine was damaged and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the engine was not available for replacement. The approximate failure mileage was 10,518.

Jan 1 issues of knocking and loss of power occurred at 2100 miles; took the the dealership and it was determined that there was a collapsed lifter and 4 of the 8 were replaced. Mar 11 truck experienced loss of power and an a message to "press start again" was able to pull over and turn truck off and it would not start again; this occurred at 5,276 miles. Towed to dealership and it was determined that engine was seized and that it would require a complete engine replacement.
I was driving on [XXX] leaving from Onawa, IA. Up to this point I had not issue or notifications about my vehicle. While driving North bout and having the adaptive cruise control set at 80 MPH, I was in the left lane passing 3 semis in the right lane. After passing the first one, the first semi merged to the left lane following. I was approximately 1/2 passed the next semi when all the sudden my cruise started to slow down. It went from 80 to 78 back to 80, then 80 back to 77 to 80. Suddenly and with no warning the engine completely shut down and I went from 80 - 0 is approx. 100 feet. The semi behind me sounded their horn loudly as they almost hit my rear end before merging over. I had no time to go over to the right shoulder and had to go to the left where the vehicle would not move. I could not move the vehicle off the shoulder as it would not shift to natural. Law enforcement was notified as the safety of the vehicle on the left side of the interstate caused safety issues. Dear National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, I am writing to formally report a serious safety issue with my 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 equipped with the 6.2-liter engine. At the time of the incident, my truck had only 17,000 miles on it and had received the two necessary oil changes as recommended. On Thursday, [XXX] while driving northbound on [XXX] in Houston, Texas, my truck unexpectedly lost power while in motion. Fortunately, I was in one of the right lanes and was able to push it to the side, but not before nearly being struck by another vehicle. Several cars had to swerve to avoid my disabled truck, and I truly believe that I could have been seriously injured or worse due to this mechanical failure. After having my truck towed to the dealership, I was informed that the engine had completely locked up and needed a full replacement. However, despite my immediate action to get the issue resolved, I have now been without a vehicle since [XXX], and as of today, March 10, 2025, there is still no replacement engine available. I have been told that the 6.2-liter engines are on backorder for 5 to 6 months because this issue is happening to so many vehicles. This raises serious concerns: If so many of these engines are failing, why has there been no recall issued? How is it acceptable for GMC to sell vehicles with a known defect that can lead to life-threatening situations on the road? Why am I still paying a $1,300 monthly car note for a vehicle I have not been able to drive in over three months? This is not just a case of vehicle reliability; this is a severe safety hazard. My truck failed suddenly in moving traffic, and based on the widespread engine failures, it appears that this could happen to many other drivers as well, potentially leading to catastrophic accidents. I urge the NHTSA to investigate these engine failures immediately and take appropriate action, including issuing a recall if warranted. I would appreciate an update on INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA)
Vehicle has left me stranded multiple times, once over 2000 miles from home at only 26k miles on the vehicle with catastrophic engine emissions and electrical failures. Costing me thousands in lodging and months of my time. My vehicle has stalled multiple times on interstates and busy roads with no shoulders putting me and other drivers at risk.
My truck has a 6.2 liter engine the engine lost power. I have had the adaptive cruise shut down and start back up with no blockage that would cause it, I have had issues with the radio/GPS around seven or eight times the GPS almost sent me the wrong way on a one way street. the truck is still in the shop
Motor blew in my 2024 Chevy Silverado. Motor was a 6.2 liter, L87 with 17,600 miles. Tomorrow will be 4 weeks without my vehicle. I've gotten no information on when any repairs will be made, nor have I gotten any support from the dealership or GM. I was driving 60+ mph in heavy traffic when the motor went. I was put in a bad situation and was lucky to get out of it without injury. I don't know what to do and need help!
Reduce Acceleration drive with care and engine light came on. Can’t go faster than 40 MPH and unable to reverse. Only 8,000 plus miles. According to mechanic, it’s a sticky transmission valve and there should be a recall.
Hi - I'm filing a complaint against Chevrolet with the NHTSA's Office of Defects Investigation. I purchased a brand new 2024 Chevrolet Silverado in Dec of 2024 from a dealership in MA. I've had the truck for only 2 months and only a couple thousand miles. I was in Quebec with my family for a ski vacation and we were driving back on [XXX} when my truck suddenly started making loud engine noises. I was able to get off the interstate to a gas station and then the truck turned off and would not start again. I had the truck towed to a Chevrolet dealership in Granby, Quebec. There was no warning or alerts before the engine failed. This is a known issue that the NHTSA is currently investigating, it has to do with the 6.2L V8 engine in GM vehicles from 2019-2024. The engine is seized and cannot be repaired, truck needs a new engine. Thank you. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Total engine failure on interstate in North Carolina
Date of purchase [XXX]. Date of incident [XXX]. I was on my way to work at [XXX] and it was raining . Truck would not accelerate more than 45 miles an hour speed limit is 65 on the freeway. Engine light turned on and all the dashboard icons turned on. Drove it to the nearest dealership Tom Bell Chevrolet in Redlands Ca. Once I put vehicle in park it would not start. The message on the dashboard board displayed something like unable to access. So I went to see if service center open since it was [XXX]. He instructed me to drive around I said it will be not go into motion. After 15 minutes I checked the status on my phone and it did not display anything wrong so I went ahead and turned it on and drove it to the service center but once again it would not accelerate and shock vigorously. Once in the service line it turned off and did not stay on. Dealership ran diagnostics he mentioned cylinder and piston but they need to run more test. He called me back 2/14/25 asked if I had taken it to the dealership where I bought since purchased I said no it’s brand new, it looks tampered with . Called me back again and said this vehicle had a motor recall and a technician at Riverside Chevy worked on it and all the components are not connected we can work on it it need to go back to them and they need to explain what is wrong. He sent them a video of the tech looking at everything that was wrong. Truck was towed to Riverside Chevrolet [XXX]. This is a brand new vehicle that only had 17 miles when purchased by me ,at the moment it has 709 miles non of the components of this vehicle are new anymore they are either melted or rattling inside ,the gas tank sounded like empty cans rolling around, the transmission would not make the vehicle move. It is called lean mode if I’m being correct the vehicle was protecting it self from what I don’t know, so yes I feel it is unsafe and would like your help with this vehicle matter at your earliest possible conve INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5
Shortly after I bought this truck, At about 3,000miles I thought it had an exhaust leak, I took it in to Chevy and they kept it for a few days. Well they get back to me and said that the lifters had failed. They put new ones in and these too failed. Then about 2 weeks later they got back to me saying they were waiting on putting a new motor in for the truck. This is the 6.2L that is known for lifter failure. After about 2 more weeks they reached back out and had said that the truck was almost done. When I got the call to come get it, I asked when I got there what do I do when this keeps happening in the future of me owning the truck. The service guy shrugged his shoulders and said “buy and extended warranty.” He then proceeded to tell me to buy a chip that will delete the DFM in the truck but will void my factory warranty. I’m very frustrated and worried for myself in the future with this truck. I’ve already spent so much buying the truck and in a few years when my warranty expires and this happens again that will be out of my pocket.
Engine check light came on at 10,500 miles and under 300 hours of engine time. Initially thought it was due to a wheel speed sensor failure from the salt and brine build up from winter weather. After having the code ran the engine is misfiring and has a rough idle. This is an L87 6.2L motor on a 2024 Silverado ZR2. After researching this problem it is way more frequent than the total of 39 official reports with a similar truck owned by an acquaintance having the same issue at the same mileage. Engine sound has changed, the truck shudders, and may seize up at any moment. The truck had 1 oil change at 5500 miles and was due for its second oil change at 11500 but will more than likely need an engine replacement.
Subject: Engine Failure – 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 (6.2L V8 •VIN: [XXX] Issue Description: While driving on [XXX], I noticed the transmission would downshift but not upshift. Within seconds, a warning appeared: “Oil temperature high, idle engine.” I began merging onto the shoulder, but before I could get there, the engine shut off completely, and the transmission shifted into neutral. After coasting to the shoulder, the transmission shifted into park on its own. Failure to Restart & Electrical Issues: I attempted to restart the engine, but it would not turn over. The dashboard, radio, and electronics turned off for a few seconds before coming back on, but the engine remained unresponsive. Towing Difficulties & Roadside Assistance Failure: GM Roadside Assistance said no contracted towing companies had the equipment to tow my truck because it would not shift into neutral without the engine running. I had to find and pay for a tow truck myself, with no guarantee of reimbursement. Dealer Response & Repair Delays: My truck has been at the dealership for days, but they have not started repairs due to technician shortages and a backlog of work. They stated: •Manually cranking the engine is nearly impossible. •The starter is not strong enough to turn it. •Repairs could take months. Loaner Car & Additional Hardships: Per the GM warranty, I received a loaner car but must return it every 500 miles. Since I commute 160 miles per day, I must frequently exchange it, causing major inconvenience. Safety Concerns & Requested Action: This sudden engine failure on the highway was a significant safety risk. Given that NHTSA is investigating failures of the GM 6.2L V8 (L87), I believe my case is related. GM should issue a recall or extended warranty for affected vehicles. The vehicle had a sudden engine failure driving up an incline and a bearing rod caused me to need a new engine. It’s at Myrtle Beach Chevrolet and they tell me the engine is on National BackOrder. It’s a new truck and now needs a new engine that can’t be found. Shame on GM
The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving at 70 MPH, the vehicle stalled and lost motive power. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle. The contact was driving on a major highway in the fast lane during the failure. The contact was concerned that the failure could have caused a major crash. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed with engine failure. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 9,000.

This is the 3rd engine failure in 23K miles. The first was a Lifter/Rod problem at around 3K miles. The 2nd was catastrophic engine failure due to a spun bearing at 21K miles. Now at 23K miles, I'm having another catastrophic engine failure with the same issue. Engine is the 6.2L L87.
When Driving my 2024 Chevy Silverado with 24,600 Miles on it this morning, i was on the New York State Thruway going highways speed (70MPH) when the truck Lost Power, and Shut completely off, I had a tractor trailer behind me and lucky my pick up truck was able to coast over the white line, if i would have been able to coast over the white line i would have been in a major accident. I attempted to start the truck up again and the truck would not turn over, i had sat there for about 25/30 Min trying to get the truck started and finally the truck turned over and i was able to continue on to work, While driving the truck had absolutely no power and the truck was sitting around 3K RPMs when going 66mph, the truck was hard shifting into gears as well. I arrived at work and i got to a parking space and all the sudden the truck shut off and wouldn't not start back up. Upon arriving to work i rolled down my window and heard a long banging noise coming from the engine Aswell as a whining noise. I attempted to start the truck up and you hit the start button the truck just keeps whining and never starts up. I was able to contact GM Roadside and have a tow truck come and pick the truck up and bring it back to the dealer. Im awaiting the dealer to contact me. Overall, i could have been in serious car accident for because the engine just shut off on the highway, this happened with no warning or anything, the check engine light was NOT on before this happened.
On 12/24/24 my truck went into limp mode with the notification of “reduced acceleration” nearly causing an accident. Luckily I was able to get off the road to safety. The truck wouldn’t go in reverse or fully accelerate. I had the truck towed to the dealership. The dealership informed me it was the Valve Body in my transmission. They mentioned they have 4 other trucks with the exact same issue. It’s been 1 month since and nothing has been repaired and GM has not responded to my inquiries on a replacement, update on the part, or a buy back. The vehicle was brand new on a lease only 7500 miles on it and was purchased in July. The truck didn’t even last 6months. Had I not quickly gotten the truck off the road I could have been T-Boned and could’ve died at the intersection by a semi coming through. The fact this vehicle was sold, while this was an issue is criminal negligence.
My 2024 ZR2 has roughly 22,000 miles on it. Was driving and lost power. Dealership actually sent someone to come look at my stalled truck. Would not turn over. Dealership got it towed. After diagnosis, they said the engine had seized. This is absolutely uncalled for on a brand new vehicle that I paid over $70,000 for. This exact same thing happened on my Co Workers 2020 high country 6.2. It is currently being worked on, and now seeing that over 877,000 of these 6.2 engines have done this exact same thing since 2019??? How is this engine still being put in these GM vehicles? Now they are going to put new or rebuild the one I have that the exact same thing can happen to the new one? No new warranty will be given as I just get the remaining warranty? I'm sorry but this is the most expensive vehicle I have ever purchased and was proud of it. Now I have a ticking time bomb? I work out of state and if this happened while out of state, what do I do?? I would like action taken! I am getting an attorney involved as this should be taken care of after 877,000 vehicles. What other action can be taken? Thank You, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The vehicle burns oil and has from the very first oil change. The dealer is stating the oil needs to be changed more often (5k as opposed to 7500 per the manual) to mitigate the fact the vehicle is burning oil. Currently I am hearing lifter tick at cold start and believe the vehicle is on its way to experiencing engine failure of which your organization is already looking into. I am reporting this to help with your investigation. Please feel free to call with any questions. Thank you. I purchased a new 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4wd in May 2024 from a Chevrolet Dealer in East Tennessee, after having the truck for 5 months, it started experiencing a transmission "shutter / vibration" at higher speeds, it has also experienced a transmission "hard downshift" at times... a month later at only 4914 miles, it was dropped off at the chevrolet dealership here in my home state of Alabama for its first oil change and for them to check what is going on with the transmission, after the truck being there for 3 weeks, we were told that the transmission needed to come out for repairs, we advised the dealership and several GM representatives that we wanted a brand new transmission put in the truck that is brand new to start with, GM has refused and stated that they were going just rebuild the transmission.... we told them "No" and that we had bought a brand new truck, therefore it should have a new transmission, not a rebuilt one in a brand new truck with less than 5000 miles on it.... the truck has been out of our possession starting into its 3rd month being gone for repairs, not only is this a huge inconvenience for us, but its also a huge safety issue because we do occasionally pull trailers with this truck... General Motors has flat refused any help to our satisfaction with this transmission issue and has just pretty just blown us off and told us "No" when we have approached them with any kind of remedies for this situation, its pretty bad when a company that has taken a government bailout a few years ago, hasnt learned anything from their past mistakes and now think theyre untouchable.... it also pretty bad when you spend in excess of $60,000 for a pickup truck that you dont even have in your possession because of defective manufacturing.... yes, it is a safety issue even more because my family is sometimes using this truck and may not always react the same way that I would if something happened going down the road.... it needs a recall on these trucks
I am sending this report in regards to investigation PE25001. I own a 2024 Silverado 6.2L, purchased on 8/30/24. On 12/27/24, I noticed a odd noise coming from the exhaust and took the truck to the dealership. After a week of trouble shooting, the dealership with the help of technicians from Chevrolet, discovered the crankshaft play was 3 times out of limits causing the exhaust to rattle and determined that engine would have to be replaced.
I was driving down the road when the vehicle shut off and required a restart. After I was able to safely pull to the side of the road with zero power I was able to restart the vehicle after a few tries. The check engine light came on. Upon getting the code checked the CAM sensor is what shut the vehicle off. I was on a busy access road and a crash could have happened if I was not able to move out of the travel lanes.
Vehicle spun a bearing in the lower part of the engine after 1147 miles of use.
The 6.2L engine suffered lifter failure while the vehicle was in motion on the highway. This was after 5 months of ownership and only 2,800 miles on a new 2024 Silverado. The vehicle months prior to the failure emitted a chirping sound like a loose fan belt. Dealer stated it was valve noise. It got louder prior to failure. The dealer repaired the engine and replaced all 8 cylinder lifters. Now the same noise is back.
The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the vehicle began jerking and sputtering and then stalled. The engine turned over, but the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the fuel pump module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 8,840.

Blown transmission valve body at 8000 total miles. Truck went into limp mode and will not reverse. Can not be safely driven. Has been sitting at dealership for 2 months now waiting for parts from GM. National backorder no ETA.
Every time I tow my travel trailer within 150 miles or so I will get a message that the Diesel Exhaust fluid (DEF)is low and needs to be filled soon. Within 50 miles of that happening I will get the message that the DEF is low and will be speed limited in 500 miles. When I stop and fill the DEF fluid it only takes about 2.5 gallons which isn't even halfway empty. When the Speed Limited to 65 in xxx miles warning comes on you are unable to view any other safety related information such as tire pressure or temperatures. I took my truck to Classic Chevrolet in Grapevine, TX. in September and they kept a 6 month old truck for 23 days. They said there is an issue with the DEF software algorithm while towing and they don't have a fix. They have a technical service bulletin that tells them to instruct customers not to add DEF until they get the Speed Limited in xxx miles . In other words don't fill it up when it says it's empty. The DEF system is a government requirement and the manufacturer should be required to ensure that their system is accurate and working under all driving conditions.
blown valve body , i bought the truck less than 6 months ago
I was taking a left from a stop sign onto a busy boulevard and as soon as I had passed the median I started losing acceleration and it felt like the transmission or engine was glitching or lugging. The engine began to try restarting itself possibly from the auto start-stop however I was now almost at a dead stop in the left hand lane in the dark. I promptly attempted to turn my hazards on, but they would not turn on while it was trying to start so I held the brake pedal down for light. I tried to turn the truck off and turn it back on however the hazards still did not work, none of the gauges went off when the truck was turned off, IE gas and voltage gauges were stuck. After attempting to put it into park and drive a few times I was finally able to turn the truck off, open the door and close it. At this point I was finally able to get the hazards turned on, however, it seemed like they would not stay on when the truck was trying to start so I could get out of the left hand lane. Fortunately someone stopped and we were able to push the truck off onto the median. After about a dozen attempts, the truck finally started, with the last attempt pumping the gas repeatedly for about twenty seconds. I drove hit for another twenty minutes and it drove okay with the engine light on. Onstar diagnostics mentioned possible fuel pump relay. I will note I did test drive a same year GMC equivalent model, and as the dealer went to gas it up, it would not start again. It ended up being the fuel pump relay.
Fuel system failed and cause damage to the engine. Failure of motor can cause loss of power steering and brakes. Dealership confirmed that a fuel injector made contact with piston and deposited debris into the motor. No warning lights of error codes prior to event.
While towing a travel trailer from Texas to New Mexico I began to receive DEF 298 miles range remaining after about 3 hours of driving. About 30 minutes after range warning I got another warning that now the tank fluid is low and needs to be refilled. I stopped at the next gas station to fill the DEF tank with fluid but it only took about 1.5 gallons to top it off. I believe it holds 7.7 gallons. Back on the road the DEF level did not reset and it gave me a warning that in 500 miles I would be speed limited to 65 MPH. While this warning is displayed it is not possible to view tire pressure, transmission temperature or any other vital information about the vehicle. The countdown continued and when I reached my destination I had 298 miles remaining. I topped the DEF tank off once again and it took 1.5 gallons again. This only brought the level back to "low add fluid'. After 2 days of driving without the trailer the DEF level returned to full. When I began the return trip with a full DEF tank I made it about an hour before I received the 300 mile range warning. I refilled it at every fuel stop with about 1 gallon. It remained at the 300 mile range warning throughout the trip and after. My issue with this system is that it could render the vehicle undrivable in the middle of nowhere hundreds of miles away from a Chevrolet Service Center. The DEF system especially when it is verified that the tank has fluid and is actually using it normally should be able to be bypassed to make it to a repair center. I forgot to mention that this is a new vehicle 4 months old with about 4000 miles on it. It has been in the Chevrolet Service for 3 weeks and has not even been looked at.
After picking up my car from Autonation Chevrolet for the same issue I am reporting, I was driving, and the car dashboard lights all came on. The AC stopped working, too.
I am writing to request urgent assistance with my Chevrolet truck, which has experienced several serious issues recently. On September 25, 2024, while driving, the steering wheel became stiff, and the engine's power stopped. The dashboard lights remained on, and I was unable to start or turn off the vehicle. The Chevrolet app initially indicated an airbag system issue. However, the next day, it reported problems with the engine and transmission system. I scheduled an appointment with the Bomnin dealership for September 28. When I arrived, the service advisor informed me that due to a backlog, the truck could not be inspected immediately and advised me to return in a month. Consequently, the vehicle has not yet been seen by a Chevrolet mechanic. On September 29, the Chevrolet app also indicated an issue with the anti-lock braking system. To date, I have not received a clear explanation or resolution for these problems. I would greatly appreciate any assistance or guidance you can provide to expedite the repair process and address these issues as soon as possible. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
I had a car accident in Mexico while I was driving inside the beach
Bought my truck new in March, after just 1 week i took my truck in after i noticed a loud rattling sound. Dealership replaced the rear section of the exhaust. After just a few days the noise came back. Now GM wont do anything about it. Truck has 11k miles on it now and the noise continues to get louder. Truck is available to be inspected. I dont feel the truck is dependable. Dealership has heard the sound again but wont do anything because GM wont pay for another exhaust system. No warning lights.
As I stopped at a red light, I received a message on my instrument panel to “push state”. I noticed my RPMs were at 0 and my vehicle was in neutral. I attempted to shift into drive, but received the same message again. I already had my foot on the brake as I was stopped, so I pushed the start button. The vehicle began its normal startup sequent and my RPMs return to normal. I shifted into drive and was able to continue to where I was headed. At no time did I ever shift the vehicle into neutral or turn it off.
