2010 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARD TO TAKATA AIRBAG SAFETY RECALL. THE CONSUMER STATED THAT A RECALL WAS PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE IN OCTOBER 2021, AND IN JULY 2022 WHILE DRIVING THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT APPEARED ON THE DASH.

AT THAT TIME, I CONTACTED THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT THE RECALL WAS ACTIVE BUT THEY WERE RUNNING OUT OF PARTS TO FIX THE PROBLEM. SO, I CONTACTED GM CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY SAID THAT TAKATA WAS WORKING ON IT AND THEY WOULD SEND A NOTIFICATION ONCE THE PARTS AVAILABLE. I SAW THE ALERT ON DASH BOARD A FEW TIMES BUT I WAS WAITING FOR THE NOTIFICATION UNTIL TODAY 02-12-18. I WAS CHECKING MY CORRESPONDENCE AND I FOUND A NOTICE FROM TK HOLDINGS INC. ABOUT THE BANKRUPTCY PROCEEDING IN JAPAN. SO, I CONTACTED AGAIN THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THE SAME. NO PARTS TO FIX IT!! WHAT ELSE SHOULD I DO? I DON'T WANT TO BE AT RISK IF MY VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT.

I WAS NOTIFIED OF THE RECALL BUT GM HAS FAILED TO MAKE THE PARTS AND LABOR AVAILABLE. NOW I HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED THAT TK HOLDINGS ARE IN CHAPTER 11 AND I DOUBT IF ANYTHING WILL REMEDY THIS DEFECT.
