Was driving the truck doing 65 on the highway and the cp4 ruined the whole fuel system. That includes the fuel rails injectors and pump! Ended up costing me around $8,000 I believe!

IN 2017 MY BOSCH CP4 FUEL PUMPED FAILED, MARK CHRISTOPHER REPLACED DUE TO RECALL. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH ON THE FREEWAY ON SEPTEMBER 1, 2020 MY TRUCK COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN, HAD A COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER, AND POWER STEERING WAS LOST. HAD TO MAKE MY WAY TO SIDE OF FREEWAY AND CALL FOR A TOW. THIS WAS THE SECOND FAILURE OF THE BOSCH CP4 FUEL PUMP, WHICH WAS INSTALLED THREE YEARS PRIOR. MARK CHRISTOPHER CHEVROLET AND GM WILL NOT REPLACE UNDER RECALL. KNOWING THAT THIS IS RECALLED PRODUCT THEY ARE FUSING TO REPLACE IT.

THE REPAIRS ALONE FOR THIS SINGLE FAILURE ARE $8550 BECAUSE THIS PUMP HAS FOULED ALL THE FUEL INJECTORS AND REGULATORS IN THE FUEL SYSTEM. MOST IMPORTANTLY THOUGH, I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO BE IN A POSITION ON HIGHWAY WHERE I HAD NO TRAFFIC BEHIND ME, AND ON A RELATIVELY STRAIGHT ROAD WHERE I WAS ABLE TO GET TO THE CURB BEFORE IT BECOME A BIGGER PROBLEM. FROM WHAT I HAVE FOUND THIS IS BECOMING A COMMON PROBLEM ON ALL OF THE DURAMAX 6.6L LML ENGINES UTILIZING THIS TYPE OF FUEL INJECTION PUMP AND GM NEEDS TO RECALL THESE SYSTEMS AND REPAIR THEM. I DO NOT HAVE THE REPAIR INVOICE YET BECAUSE THE VEHICLE IS STILL BEING REPAIRED BUT WILL BE HAPPY TO SUPPLY IT WHEN I RECEIVE IT.
