When truck is turned off, cannot remove key. You have to wait 5 minutes or more before the key will come out of the ignition. Sometimes longer. This is an ongoing problem. We have another truck doing the same thing.
Tailgate going up and down on its own when in park. Now it will not open at all. There is a recall #N232426400 but dealership says it is not listed for my truck.
Vehicle was brought to Lone Star Chevrolet in Houston on 6/16/2025 because Tailgate would not open with the button and only would open with the fob. They stated no parts to fix and did not advise of the severity of risk from the recall when picked truck up. Saturday afternoon [XXX] while leaving a parking lot and driving on the feeder road the tailgate opened resulting in the large ice chest that was full of water bottles ice and and storage containers with food to fall on road along with battery power fan and several extra batteries. These items unexpectedly sliding down the feeder resulted in several cars making defensive maneuvers nearly resulting in several crashes and the ice chest bumping 1 vehicle. All lanes of traffic stopped and several people helped to pick up the debris off the road. No information from people who stopped was collected, and no report from driver of truck that hit cooler. Tail gate opens and shut by its self while I’m going down the road have dropped a couple things out and lost them could have been worse if some one hit by jack that fell out
The key constantly gets stuck in the ignition after shutting off the vehicle. Some times have have to start the car multiple times and move the steering wheel to get the key to come out. Sometimes that doesn't work and I have to play with it for up to 3 minutes just trying to get the key out.
Rear back-up camera is intermittent and is a safety concern due to the size of the vehicle. I makes it un-safe when backing up. This has been happening more and more. Screen is either black or icon displays that the camera is not working.
Repeated shift to park message even when in park. Resulting in many hours of shutting off and on, shifting between gears to get it to recognize it is in park. Dealership where purchased is trying to convince me it's a $700 fix with no recall. It is a known GM problem. This blatant disregard for proper repairs is costing GM customers thousands in additional repair for their gross negligence as well as endangering the safety of its customers. It additionally results in draining the battery, starter and transmission problems. GM needs to be held accountable since they know it is an issue.
Key gets stuck in the ignition and won't come out. I see lots of people online with the same issue.
The vehicle spontaneously caught fire in the engine compartment. The vehicle was parked in a driveway and the fire caused by the vehicle spread to a building and it also caught fire. The tailgate opens on it's own. This is unsafe because the tailgate can open without me knowing it and cause a safety hazard by hitting someone OR by items falling out of the bed of the truck while driving. That can cause injury or damage to people and/or property.
Keep getting shift to park message after placing truck in park and shutting off the vehicle.
I have always received tailgate open messages, but after putting the vehicle in park to check, it has never come open. It finally did come open when I was towing a trailer which caused damage on the tailgate. The dealership stated no recalls, and they couldn't find an issue with it.
When using the backup camera, the guidelines displayed on the screen do not line up center with the vehicle. Meaning if using the guidelines to reverse as intended, you will be too far to one side as a result. I have taken the vehicle to Chevrolet but they are unable to reprogram the display.
I was almost run over by a Semi-Truck when entering the freeway because my 2022 Chevrolet Truck would not accelerate. I was told at the dealer the loss of power was intentionally caused by the onboard computer. It is programed by the manufacturer to do this anytime certain repairs may be needed. In my case, the life-threatening event I experienced took place because a sensor went out and the computer thought a repair was needed.
The way this truck is designed is there is a 2 inch x 2 inch square metal framing piece that runs along the entire length of the truck. The opening to the pipe is NOT blocked off. The opening points up at the gap that exists between the tailgate and the bed of the truck when the tailgate is open. I had my keys on the tailgate and they slipped and fell - anywhere else they would have fell straight to the ground, but they happened to fall into this framing piece that does not have a cap or anything at all. AAA says this is the third one they've seen in my area this month. My safety concerns are twofold: 1. The keys are moving the entire length of that framing piece that extends the entire length of the truck. I am concerned that if they are close to the cab/front of the truck, my vehicle could be unlocked and potentially stolen until the keys are able to be retrieved. 2. If my keys (which are bulky) can fall in there, there is a significant concern that other debris like leaves, sticks, or anything in the bed off the truck can fall into that same space, as well as moisture/water. I am concerned that this will increase the likelyhood of rust occuring in the framing of the vehicle. I have reported my concerns to GM/Chevrolet and they are stating it is not their concern. They aren't even reviewing the videos that I took of the issue. The dealer has confirmed the location of the keys is in the framework of the truck. They are not addressing my concerns that this could cause early rust in the vehicle.
Vehicle purchased new in November of 2021 and driven approximately 6,000 miles. Under windy conditions, particularly at highway speeds, the truck is nearly impossible to drive straight down the road and keep under control. It feels as if you're driving on ice and takes a lot of effort to get back under control. In addition, wind blasts from semi-trucks blow the truck all over the road. Other wind blasts such as those experienced when passing under an overpass or a clearing of woods or hilly terrain that allows for gusts of cross winds result in an equally frightening experience. This truck is a heavy duty 3/4-ton advertised for its towing ability. I have driven 3-4,000 miles (of the 6,000) towing a trailer. The truck steers and handles just as poorly while towing and results in an equally frightening experience I have had the truck at the dealership for over 20 days and although they acknowledge the problem, they have not been able to determine the cause of the problem. The dealership had a GM engineer inspect the truck and his opinion is that this type of handling is "a normal characteristic of the truck". I have attached a copy of the dealership report. I am very fearful that having this vehicle on the road is a serious hazard and will result in a serious accident. with possible injury and/or death. I have owned hundreds of vehicles, driven millions of miles in my life and have never experienced anything like this.
