CRACKED DASH OVER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, STATIONARY NOTHING HAPPENED TO CAUSE IT.

DASH IS CRACKED IN 6 DIFFERENT SPOTS; 3 OF THE CRACKS BEING AROUND THE PASSENGER AIR BAG. IF THE AIRBAG WERE TO DEPLOY, THE DASH WOULD SHATTER THUS CAUSING SHARP PROJECTILES TO BE DISPENSED IN THE VEHICLE CABIN POTENTIALLY CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY TO THE OCCUPANTS. THE CRACKS START DOWN WHERE THE BOLTS CONNECT TO THE BODY (THEY EXTEND FURTHER DOWN THAN WHAT CAN BE SEEN IN THE PHOTOS).

THE DASH IS CRACKED AT THE CORNER OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. THIS SEEMS TO BE A REPEATED ISSUE WITH GM AND IS CLEARLY A DEFECT WHEN SO MANY OF THEIR VEHICLES HAVE BEEN EFFECTED IN THE SAME PLACE! THERE IS ALREADY A RECALL ON THE PASSENGER AIRBAG THAT GM ISN'T WANTING TO FIX AND NOW MY DASH IS CRACKED COMPLETELY APART BY THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. HOW SAFE IS THIS, WHERE IS THEIR RESPONSIBILITY?

DASHBOARD HAS BEGUN TO CRACK IN NUMEROUS AREAS, 1 AREA THAT IS VERY CONCERNING IS RIGHT BY THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WHICH I FEEL CONCERNED THAT IF IT WERE TO INFLATE THE DASHBOARD WOULD WOULD SEND PROJECTILES FLYING. THE DASH IS ALSO CRACKING SEVERELY ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. UPON RESEARCH THIS IS A ISSUE THAT THE INTERNET IS FLOODED WITH AND GM REFUSES TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM. I CONTACTED GM IN REGARDS TO THIS ISSUE AND THEY REFUSE TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY ALTHOUGH AT A DEALETHIS SHIP WHEN I WENT LOOKING AROUND 4 OUT OF THE 5 VEHICLES FOR SALE ON THE LOT HAD THE SAME CRACKS IN THE SAME PLACES. I NEED HELP FROM NHTSA TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE BEFORE MY FAMILY IS PUT IN DANGER IN THE EVENT OF A VEHICLE ACCIDENT. THIS CRACK SEEMED TO OCCUR WHEN THE WEATHER GOT COLD, I TURNED ON MY HEAT AND THE DESK IMMEDIATELY CRACKED. THIS IS FLAWED EQUIPMENT AND WE AS CONSUMERS SHOULD NOT HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT.

CRACKS IN DASHBOARD DRIVERS SIDE & ON PASSENGER SIDE AS WELL-DEALERSHIP REPLACED ($100.00) -TOLD ME TO STOP USING ARMOR ALL AND THE LIKE- NOW 2ND DASH HAS DONE THE EXACT SAME THING--NEXT PROBLEM LIFTER STARTED TAPPING (70,000) AFM 5.3L ENGINE--ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCING THE SAME
THE DASHBOARD HAS BEGUN TO CRACK AND IS IN THE AREA OF THE AIR BAGS. I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS HAS COMPROMISED MY SAFETY AND THAT OF MY PASSENGER IF THERE WERE BE A NECESSITY FOR THE AIRBAGS TO BE DEPLOYED. SHARDS OF THE BRITTLE PLASTIC COULD PUNCTURE THE AIRBAGS OR BE PROJECTED THROUGH THE CABIN INJURING PASSENGERS. THIS IS MY SECOND SUBURBAN PURCHASED NEW AND WITH AS MUCH AS I HAVE SPENT, I WOULD EXPECT IT NOT TO CRUMBLE APART IN FIVE YEARS OR THAT THE COMPANY WOULD BE APOLOGETIC AND EAGER TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE. EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED AND UNWILLING TO SPEND $800 QUOTED BE DEALER TO REPLACE POOR QUALITY DASH WITH THE SAME PART THAT WILL CRUMBLE LIKE THE FIRST IN FOUR OR FIVE YEARS. THIS WILL BE MY LAST CHEVY PURCHASE.

THE DASHBOARD IS CRACKING IN SEVERAL SPOTS. THE MAIN CONCERN IS THAT IT IS CRACKING AT THE CORNER OF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT AREA. IF THE AIRBAG WERE TO DEPLOY IT COULD BE PUNCTURED OR CUT DURING DEPLOYMENT DUE TO THIS CRACKED DASHBOARD.

UPON EXITING THE VEHICLE I WAS SLICED BY THE CHROME COATING PEELING AWAY FROM INNER DOOR HANDLE. FINGER WAS SLICED ABOUT 3/4" LONG AND BAD ENOUGH TO BLEED. I THEN TOOK NOTICE OF OTHER INNER DOOR HANDLES AND FOUND PASSENGER SIDE FRONT INNER DOOR HANDLE ALSO HAVING THE CHROME COATING PEELING FROM HANDLE. FURTHER RESEARCH FOUND THIS PROBLEM ON EARLIER GM MODELS. *TR

THE DASHBOARD HAS SEVERE LONG CRACKS THAT RUN INTO WHERE THE AIRBAG WOULD DEPLOY. THIS IS CLEARLY A DEFECT AND 1000'S HAVE REPORTED SAME ISSUE. THE EDGES ARE VERY SHARP. THE VEHICLE IS <4 YEARS OLD AND GM WILL NOT REPLACE. CONCERN IS THE DASH COULD CUT THE AIRBAG AS IT PASSES BY THE SHARP EDGES OR SHARP EDGES COULD SEVERELY CUT DRIVER OR PASSENGER AS AIRBAG PUSHED BROKEN DASH INTO PASSENGER OR DRIVER. *TR
