*From day one of purchase there is a random, frequent loud buzzing/whining through the speakers(with our without the radio on). Dealership had no idea how to fix and Chevrolet said there was no known issue, so no help. *The running lights constantly short out. We continually replace them and they short out again! *We have replaced all four door handles! Cheap chrome plastic is not going to hold up. These should actually be metal to insure holding up! *The tires seem too big since they rub the fender well if you cut sharply to either side. You can actually hear them rubbing on the well as you cut hard to either side! *The dash cracked about five years after we purchased it. We kept it under our carport and this cracking was unacceptable! I called Chevrolet and they said there was no known issue or recall. We continued to ask our dealership to look for recalls on this. *There was a recall on our passenger side airbag. We tried to get it replaced and were told, no they could not. Takata went bankrupt, so sorry, Chevrolet will not replace air bag for you! *After a few years of not being able to use our front seat due to safety issues Chevrolet would not fix(defective airbag), we decided to save and get the airbag and cracked dash replaced on our own. Unacceptable! Proclaimed recalls should be tended to by manufacturer! *The cruise control just stopped working one day early on, no recall--not surprised:( *The fuel tank is cutting off at the pump as we try to put gas into the tank. This is problematic as the vehicle will not run without fuel! Currently fighting with this and contacting dealership to see if they can help at all. Everyone we know who has a Suburban or Tahoe has these same problems! These are all widespread problems/design flaws. Please look into these issues to make a better product!
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Suburban. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V054000 (Air Bags) however, the part to do the recall repair was not available. The dealer was contacted, and an appointment was scheduled; however, the contact was notified that parts were not available for the recall repair. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
TK Holdings Inc. (“Takata”) has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in the passenger-side frontal airbag inflators installed as original equipment in certain 2007 to 2014 model year Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, and Escalade EXT vehicles; certain Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado 1500, Silverado 2500/3500, Suburban, and Tahoe vehicles; and certain GMC Sierra 1500, Sierra 2500/3500, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles. The determination was made that the propellant in these inflators may degrade after long-term exposure to high humidity and temperature cycling, which could cause the inflator to rupture during a deployment. UPON ENTERING THE VEHICLE THIS MORNING, 11/17/2020, I NOTICED A CRACK IN THE DASH NEAR THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. AS I STARTED THE VEHICLE AND DRIVING THE SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON. THE MILEAGE AT THE TIME WAS 129173.

WE NOTICED A CRACK ON THE DASHBOARD THAT APPEARS TO MOVE BETWEEN THE PASSENGER AIRBAG AND THE CENTER DASH VENT ON JULY 11TH, 2020. THERE WAS A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF NOISE "RATLLING" FROM THE DASH BOARD. ON JULY 18TH WE NOTICED THAT THE SPA E ON THE DASH UNDER THE VENT WAS HANGING EVEN LOWER AND MORE NOISE.ON 7/27/20 WE REALIZED THE CRACK CONTINUES TO SPREAD AND THE DASH IS SUNK IN MORE. WE ARW CONCERNED THE AIR BAG WILL NOT DEPLOY IF NEEDED OR THAT FURTHER COSMETIC INJURY WILL HAPPEN TO THE DASH. THE CAR WAS INITIALLY STATIONARY OUTSIDE OUR HOME. EACH INSTANCE THE CRACK IS VISIBLE AS WELL AS THE INCREASED SPACE UNDER THE VENT. THE PROBLEM BECAME MORE EVIDENT AS WE DROVE OFF EACH TIME. WE TAKE CITY STREETS AND HIGHWAY WHEN DRIVING. THIS VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. WE HAVE OWNED SEVERAL MAKES AND MODELS OF DIFFERENT VEHICLES AND HAVE NO IDEA WHY THIS IS HAPPENING. WE DO KNOW WE HAVE SIX CHILDREN AND THIS IS OUR FAMILY CAR THAT WE NO LONGER FEEL SAFE DRIVING.

TAKATA RECALL WHEN I FIRST RECEIVED THE NOTICE ABOUT THE RECALL IN JULY 2016 I CONTACTED JERRY CHEVROLET ABOUT REPLACING THE AIR BAGS AND WAS TOLD THE PARTS WERE ON BACK ORDER AND NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME AND I WOULD BE CONTACTED WHEN THEY DID BECOME AVAILABLE AND THEN TOLD WHEN TO BRING IT IN FOR REPAIR. I WAITED AND WAITED. I CONTACTED THEM AGAIN IN 2017 AND WAS TOLD THE SAME THING. I ALSO CONTACTED A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THE SAME THING. IT HAS BEEN 2 YEARS NOW AND THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. I AM SCARED ABOUT DRIVING MY CAR AND AM UPSET THAT WHEN GM HAD ANOTHER RECALL ON MY HUSBANDS COBALT THAT THEY SET A DEADLINE AND YOU HAD TO GET YOUR CAR IN TO BE REPAIRED BEFORE THAT DEADLINE. AT THAT TIME OUR DAUGHTER WAS GOING THRU MULTIPLE DR. APPOINTMENTS AND SURGERIES AND WE COULD NOT MEET THAT DEADLINE. WE HAD TO PAY FOR THIS RECALL OUT OF OUR OWN POCKET. WHAT GIVES THEM A RIGHT TO SET A DEADLINE ON ANY RECALL WHEN I HAVE BEEN WAITING 3 YEARS ON THIS RECALL! NOT FAIR AT ALL! A RECALL IS NOT AN OWNERS FAULT.
2010 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN MY DASH BOARD INEXPLICABLY CRACKED IN SEVERAL PLACES SOME AROUND THE AIR BAG. AFTER RESEARCHING, I FOUND THOUSANDS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AND ARE CONCERNED THE CHEAP PLASTIC DASH COULD TURN TO SHRAPNEL IN AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE READ PEOPLE SPEND HUNDREDS, SOMETIMES THOUSANDS TO FIX THE DAMAGE ONLY FOR IT TO HAPPEN AGAIN. GM NEEDS TO BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS POOR AND CHEAP DESIGN FLAW. NO ONE DESERVES TO SPEND $40K ON A VEHICLE THAT LITERALLY CRACKS APART IN A SHORT TIME OF OWNERSHIP. IF GM REALLY STANDS BEHIND THE QUALITY OF THEIR PRODUCTS, THEN THEY NEED TO STEP UP AND TAKE CARE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS. AND WHILE I'M AT IT ALL VEHICLE MANUFACTURERS NEED TO STOP MAKING SUCH CHEAP UNSAFE PIECE OF CRAPS THAT ARE CONSTANTLY BEING RECALLED FOR SOME REASON OR ANOTHER. WE USUALLY SEE THIS HAPPEN WHEN THERE ARE TEMPERATURE CHANGES FROM SEASON TO SEASON. EVEN THOUGH THERE IS A RECALL CONCERNING THE AIRBAG SYSTEM ON CERTAIN MAKES AND MODELS, WE WERE SURPRISED WHEN OUR TRUCK WAS NOT ON THE LIST.

EACH TIME, INCLUDING MY LAST CONTACT ON 12/9/17, I HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT THEY CANNOT DO THE REPAIR BECAUSE THEY HAVE NOT BEEN SUPPLIED WITH REPLACEMENT PARTS FROM THE AIRBAG COMPANY TO COMPLETE THE THE REPAIR.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT OF THE PETITION BEING EXPANDED UNTIL DECEMBER 31, 2017; THEREFORE, NO VEHICLES WERE BEING REPAIRED AT THE TIME. THE DASHBOARD CRACKED WITH NO INCIDENT TO CAUSE IT. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND WAS NOTICED WHEN RETURNING TO THE CAR. THE VEHICLE IS WELL TAKEN CARE OF AND PARKED/PROTECTED WITH SPACES THAT ARE COVERED. THERE ARE TWO CRACKS, ONE EXTENDS FROM UPPER RIGHT CORNER OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG AND THE OTHER STARTS AND EXTENDS NEAR THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT ON GM MADE VEHICLES MANUFACTURED BETWEEN 2007-2013. THERE IS NO EVENT THAT CAUSED THIS CRACK AND THE VEHICLE IS PROTECTED FROM EXTREME HEAT AND COLD. NON-ABRASIVE CLEANING PROTECTS ARE ALSO USED ON THE DASH. THIS HAPPENS TO A MAJORITY OF OWNERS OF THESE VEHICLES AND THERE IS EVEN A FACEBOOK GROUP WITH OVER 4000 MEMBERS THAT DOCUMENTS ALL THE PROBLEMS. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE IF THE AIRBAG GOES OFF OR A VEHICLE ACCIDENT OCCURS, THEN SMALL PIECES OF PLASTIC CAN EASILY BECOME PROJECTILES. THESE VEHICLES ARE MUCH TO EXPENSIVE TO HAVE THESE PROBLEMS WITH NO MAJOR EVENT TO CAUSE IT.

DASH CRACKING IN FRONT OF DRIVER SEAT. SECOND TIME DASH HAS CRACKED IN LAST 2 YEARS. POTENTIALLY EFFECTS ELECTRICAL SUPPORTING AIRBAG. CHEVY/GM REFUSES TO COVER COST OF REPLACEMENT. ISSUE APPEARS TO BE WIDESPREAD AMONG OWNERS.

SEVERAL CRACKS HAVE APPEARED IN THE DASH OF MY 2010 SUBURBAN. ONE IS ON THE LEFT CORNER OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG COMPARTMENT. THE OTHER IS ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. AFTER THE CRACK OCCURRED ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, THE SENSORS BEGAN TO MALFUNCTION. THE CRACKS APPEARED OVER TIME. WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE USED IN 2012 AND THERE WERE NO DEFECTS IN THE DASH. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN IN ANY ACCIDENTS NOR HAS HER BEEN ANY FORCE APPLIED TO THE DASH THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED THE CRACKS. WE DISCOVERED THE CRACKS ABOUT A YEAR AGO AND HAVE BEEN TRYING TO WORK WITH GM TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE AS IT APPEARS THAT THIS IS OCCURRING IN THOUSANDS OF OTHER GM VEHICLES FROM 2007-2013. WE ARE MEMBERS OF A FACEBOOK GROUP WITH ALMOST 4000 MEMBERS ALL SHARING THE SAME PHOTOS, STORIES AND ISSUES WITH THEIR GM VEHICLES. THIS COMPLAINT IS FILED DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE CRACKS ARE GETTING WORSE AND MY FEAR IS THAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG COULD BE DANGEROUS IF DEPLOYED. NOT TO MENTION THE MALFUNCTIONING SENSORS UNDER THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WHERE THE OTHER CRACK IS LOCATED.

ELECTRICAL IS DASH IS CAUSING THE RADIO TO MESS UP. IT SWITCHES FROM RADIO TO USB TO CD TO AUX, WILL NOT STAY ON JUST ONE OF THEM MAKING LISTENING TO RADIO NOT POSSIBLE. THE AIR BAG LIGHT STAYS ON WITH A MESSAGE SAYING CHECK AIR BAG. THE TIRE MONITOR LIGHT STAYS ON AND DON'T KNOW WHY. ALSO THE ABS LIGHT COMES ON RANDOMLY, HAD THIS CHECKED OUT AND IT WOULDN'T GIVE THEM A CODE SO CHEVY COULDN'T FIX IT WHILE UNDER WARRANTY. THIS IS A LOT GOING AND WOULD LOVE FOR IT BE FIXED. I ALSO SEEN THAT STARTING IN 2011 THERE IS RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE FOR ELECTRICAL NOT SURE WHY THEY WOULDN'T INCLUDE THE 2010. *TR
TWO LARGE CRACKS APPEARED IN MY DASH RECENTLY - NO ACCIDENT, NO SPECIAL CLEANING SOLUTION, NOTHING. ONE CRACK IS OVER THE CONTROL CONSOLE NEAR THE DRIVER SIDE AND THE OTHER IS AROUND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. MY CONCERN IS THAT THE CRACK SURROUNDING THE PASSENGER AIRBAG COULD POSSIBLY HINDER THE AIRBAG FROM WORKING PROPERLY OR COULD POSSIBLY EJECT SHARDS OF HARD PLASTIC INTO MY PASSENGERS IF THE AIRBAG DID DEPLOY.
