THIS HAPPENED TWICE IN THE LAST WEEK. WHILE ACCELERATING THE GAS PEDAL HAS GOTTEN STUCK AND THE VEHICLE INCREASES WITH SPEED. IN A PANIC I SHIFTED THE TRANSMISSION INTO NEUTRAL; THE ENGINE KEPT REVVING. AS I CONTINUED TO ATTEMPT TO UN-STICK THE GAS PEDAL I NOTICED IT WAS ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FLOOR. AFTER ABOUT 20 SECONDS IT FINALLY UN-STUCK WHEN I STOMPED ON IT SEVERAL TIMES. THIS HAPPENED FIRST ON A PUBLIC STREET AND LAST WHILE ENTERING THE HIGHWAY. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 CHEVROLET TAHOE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGED AUTOMATICALLY. THE SPEED OF THE VEHICLE INCREASED AND THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT MERGED TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD, POWERED OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED.
