THE VEHICLE WAS SEEN BY A DEALER, AND THE FRONT LOWER AND UPPER CONTROL ARMS, AS WELL AS THE LOWER/ UPPER BALL JOINTS WERE REPLACED. AFTERWARDS, THE PROBLEM PERSISTED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP. THE MECHANIC DETERMINED THE SAME PARTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. WHILE DRIVING AT A MODERATE SPEED (~40 MPH) THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE. I SLOWED DOWN, AND TURNED ON TO A SIDE ROAD. AS I CAME TO A STOP THE FRONT, DRIVER'S SIDE WHEEL COLLAPSED INWARD. FORTUNATELY, THERE WERE NO INJURIES OR FURTHER DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS NO PREVIOUS HINT OF A PROBLEM. PER THE GARAGE MECHANIC, THE UPPER BALL JOINT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE HAD "SEPARATED", CAUSING THE WHEEL TO COLLAPSE. THE PART WAS REPLACED, AND THE DAMAGED PART (WHICH I VIEWED) WAS THROWN AWAY. THE VEHICLE RIDES FINE NOW, BUT I WORRY ABOUT THE OTHER BALL JOINTS. *JB
