MY 15 YR OLD DRIVER IN TRAINING,, was leaving town with myself and her father the engine just stopped running causing us to lose all movement of car had to coast to the side of highway { busy with semis} had to call tow truck to come get it ,, it wouldn't start after trying a few times . and also the seat belts lock tight and will not give when pulled on them leaving you strapped tight in the seat you have to unhook them to release them .. very uncomfortable when you traveling
FUEL GAUGE DROPS TO EMPTY CONSTANTLY, EVEN WHERE THERE IS HALF A TANK. ONLY 5-10% OF THE TIME IT SHOWS HOW MUCH FUEL THERE REALLY IS. THIS HAPPENS WHILE TRAVELING AND WHILE STOPPED.

THE GAS GAUGE SHOWS EMPTY EVEN AFTER THE TANK IS FILLED. OTHER 2005 TRAILBLAZER MODELS HAVE HAD A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE REGARDING THE GAS GAUGE AND SENSOR BUT MY MODEL DID NOT. IT ALSO CAUSES THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON AFTER PUTTING FUEL IN THE GAS TANK. THE GAS GAUGE SHOWS EMPTY AT ALL TIMES ( WHEN YOUR MOVING, AND STATIONARY). NOT ACCURATELY KNOWING HOW MUCH GAS IS THE VEHICLE CAN CAUSE YOU TO STALL OUT WHILE ON CITY STREETS OR ON THE HIGHWAY DRIVING 60 MPH.

I HAVE TO PUMP THE BRAKES QUICKLY IN AN EFFORT TO AVOID A CRASH. I FILLED THE GAS TANK TO FULL, HUGE MISTAKE. THE MOMENT I DID THAT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS FLASHED AND SPORADIC IDLING. IT HAS A LOUD WHINE UNDER THE HOOD, FRONT TURN SIGNALS AND HAZARD FLASHER RANDOMLY STOPPED WORKING. CAR WILL DIE IF I RUN THE A/C FOR MORE THEN 15 MINS. IT WILL PULL TO EITHER SIDE WHEN I APPLY MY BRAKES. I HAVE ALWAYS KEPT UP WITH PROPER MAINTENANCE, TUNE UP, ETC. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE, THAT SO MANY HAVE THE SAME [XXX] ISSUES AND YET CHEVY WILL NOT RECOGNIZE/TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR OBVIOUS FLAWS AND LACK OF MECHANICAL KNOWLEDGE..I JUST WANT OUT OF THIS [XXX] LEASE AND A REPLACEMENT CAR!!! HOWEVER THIS PAST WEEKEND I RAN OUT OF FUEL AND THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY. I KNOW NOW THAT THIS IS ALSO UNRELIABLE AND WILL MAKE IT A POINT TO STOP AT EVERY 200 MILES.

I WENT TO THE GAS STATION TO FILL IT UP AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE GAUGE METER WENT TO THE LEFT AND READ "EMPTY" AND THE LOW FUEL LIGHT CAME ON EVEN THOUGH I HAD A FULL TANK OF GAS. I RESTARTED THE TRUCK AND THE FUEL GAUGE METER STILL READ LOW (LESS THAN A 1/4 TANK), IT EVENTUALLY RETURNED THE TO THE 1/2 GAUGE/METER MARK. CAR WAS STATIONERY AT THE GAS STATION AT TIME OF THE INCIDENT, THEN I EVENTUALLY DROVE OFF AT LOW SPEED.

I THEN FOUND OUT THERE WAS A WAY TO GET IT REPLACED FOR FREE BUT IT HAD STIPULATIONS. LESS THAN 10 YEARS OLD AND UNDER 100K MILES. WELL AT THE TIME IT WAS 108K-115K MILES AND I WAS DENIED. I MUST ADMIT I LOVE MY VEHICLE BUT TO THIS DAY I HAVE BEEN FIGHTING TO GET THE PUMP REPLACED WITHOUT HAVING TO PAY FOR IT AS IT WAS THE COMPANIES FAULT. I CALCULATE MY MILES BASED OFF THE "TRIP" INDICATOR ON THE DASH. I KNOW IT SEEMS SILLY, I MEAN IT WOULD BE MUCH EASIER TO JUST INVEST, I'M A BIT STUBBORN. SO INSTEAD, WHEN THE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE I KNOW MENTION BUYING A CAR I JUST TELL THEM DONT BUY A CHEVY, EVEN IF THEY HAVE AMAZING CARS. I CHECKED WITH THE GMC DEALER ABOUT THIS SERVICE BULLETIN AND THE THEY TOLD ME TO BRING MY VEHICLE IN FOR REPAIRS. WELL THE DEALER CALLED AND TOLD ME THAT MY VEHICLE WAS OUT OF THE PARAMETERS FOR A COST FREE REPAIR. I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE BRAND NEW BACK AND 2005 AND I HAVE KEPT UP WITH THE REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE. THE DEALERSHIP I HAVE THIS SERVICED AT OVER THE YEARS NEVER DID ANY REPAIRS ON THIS SERVICE BULLETIN. I AM A OIF ARMY VETERAN AND I CAN NOT CURRENTLY AFFORD THIS $900 REPAIR. IT'S BEEN 3 DAYS AND THE NEEDLE HAS MOVED BUT THE WRONG WAY, TO THE RIGHT GOING UP 75, 80, 90, THEN BACK DOWN TO 65 AND STAYING THERE. I HAVE LOOKED INTO REPLACING THE GAS GAUGE AND I WAS TOLD THE ENTIRE DASH WOULD HAVE TO BE DONE AT A PRICE OF 1200.00, I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO DO THIS, CHEVROLET SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE. *TR

INITIAL REPAIR COST ESTIMATES WERE $500+ FOR THE PARTS SINCE THEY WILL ONLY REPLACE THE ENTIRE GAUGE CLUSTER. WITH LABOR, THE ESTIMATE WAS IN EXCESS OF $800. FUEL GAUGE IS NOW INOPERATIVE OR INTERMITTENT. WHEN I FILL THE TANK, THE FUEL GAUGE READS WAY PAST THE FULL LINE. HAVING TO RELY OF THE FUEL TO EMPTY AND THE FUEL USED COMPUTER INFORMATION ALONG WITH THE TRIP METER TO ESTIMATE FUEL. RECEIVED ANOTHER ESTIMATE FOR A MECHANIC TO PULL THE GAUGE CLUSTER AND REBUILD EACH INDIVIDUAL GAUGE MOTOR FOR AN ESTIMATE OF $500. BASED UPON THE NUMBER SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ON THIS SAME THING, THIS APPEARS TO BE A MANUFACTURING DEFECT THAT NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED BY GM. *TR

MY VEHICLE OCCASSIONALY LURCHES WHEN IT PUT INOT GEAR FROM BEING PARKED OR IDLE AS IF IT WANTS TO JUST TAKE OFF RIGHT AWAY. I CONTACTED GM ON THIS AND THEY STATED THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO, BUT I HAVE RESEARCHED AND FOUND THAT MANY OTHERS HAVE HAS THIS SAME PROBLEM. ANOTHER ISSUDE I HAVE HAD WAS MY SPEEDOMETER AND ENTIRE DASH CLUSTER FAILING. WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE MY SPEEDOMETER JUMPED TO OVER 100 MPH AND THEN BACK DOWN TO 0. AT THAT POINT IT STOPPED WORKING FOR A FEW MINUTES THEN STARTED WORKING PROPERLY AGAIN. FINALLY IT STOPPED WORKING ALTOGETHER. I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC AND HE REPLACED THE ENITRE CLUSTER PANEL WHICH COST ME AROUND $800.00. AGAIN, HE DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THIS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM. I SENT GM A LETTER WITH A COPY OF THE REPAIR BILL ALONG WITH DOCUMENTATION OF THE MANY COMPLAINTS I FOUND ONLINE WITH THE SAME ISSUE. I HEARD NOTHING. I REACHED OUT WITH A PHONE CALL AND WAS TOLD THE ISSUE DID NOT WARRANT A RECALL. THIS COULD BE A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. I WAS REFUELING ON GAS, WHEN I STARTED THAT TRUCK BACK UP, MY FUEL INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON STATING THAT THE TRUCK WAS EMPTY OF FUEL. NOW MIND YOU I JUST PLACED $44.50 INTO THE GAS TANK WHICH AT THE TIME THE GAS PUMP CLICK TO LET ME KNOW THE TANK WAS FULL OF FUEL. IT TOOK ABOUT 2 DAYS FOR THE FUEL INDICATOR TO SHOW THE CORRECT AMOUNT OF FUEL IN THE TRUCK. NOW EVER TIME I FILL UP THE FUEL INDICATOR LIGHT STATES IT IS EMPTY AFTER TURNING THE TRUCK BACK ON AND OFF ON THE FOURTH TIME THEN THE INDICATOR LIGHT WILL SHUT OFF AND FUEL GAUGE WILL SHOW THAT CORRECT AMOUNT OF GAS. *TR

THEY ARE OFFERING A "DEAL" AS THEY CALL IT WHERE THEY WILL REPLACE THE FUEL SENSOR IF YOU HAVE LESS THAN 120,000 MILES BUT YOU STILL HALF TO PAY FOR HALF OF THE REPAIR AND GM WILL PAY THE OTHER HALF. THIS IS NOT A "DEAL", IT SHOULD BE COVERED BY GM AT 100%!

CONTACTED DEALERSHIP AND FOUND THERE IS A SPECIAL "SECRET" POLICY COVERING THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE INCLUDED THE RESPONSE FROM THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT: "I HOPE YOU ARE HAVING A GREAT DAY. I DO SEE THAT YOUR VEHICLE DOES FALL UNDER THE SPECIAL POLICY 10054 WHICH EXTENDS THE WARRANTY WITH A 50/50 SPLIT UNTIL 3/30/2016 OR 120,000 MILES ON THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR. IF THE ISSUE YOU ARE EXPERIENCING IS BEING CAUSED BY THE SENSOR GM WOULD PAY FOR HALF THE REPAIR AND YOU WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE OTHER 50% OF THE COST WHICH YOUR PORTION WOULD BE AROUND $200-$250.00. WE WOULD HAVE TO DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE FIRST BUT IF THE CAUSE IS THE SENSOR COVERED BY THE SPECIAL POLICY YOU WOULD ONLY OWE THE AFOREMENTIONED 50% OF THE REPAIR.
