Several months ago, I was at a fast food drive up window. I had my drivers side window down while paying for my food and receiving my food. It was down pouring and the inside of my door got pretty wet. I wiped off the rain as best as I could but everything was soaked. The very next day the drivers side door controls started to go haywire. The window button stopped working and my door locks only worked occasionally until they stopped working all together. My side mirrors can no longer be adjusted from the drivers seat. I have to get out of the vehicle and manually adjust both driver and passenger side mirrors. I'm not sure if there is a short in the wiring from the rain or just what is going on. I asked a parts dealer to see how much it would cost to replace the drivers side door controls module and he was of no help except to say its a recall part because of moisture. I've looked this up and I see there was a recall but my VIN isn't on the recall list. I don't understand why my vehicle is excluded considering this appears to be exactly what this incident generated the recall in the first place. I further looked into the investigation you had on the Trailblazer's outside of the salt belt states having the same issues with the moisture and issues that arise from the damaged door controls. I'm not sure if I would be considered in the expanded recall but I'm certain I should be as this is exactly why my drivers side door controls failed. I feel this is a huge safety issue as i don't know if there is a electrical/wiring short and not being able to adjust the side mirrors is an impairment. There was no warning to let me know anything was wrong. The system just went out just that fast. Please advise me how to proceed with my next steps to get this resolved. Also, my low beams went completely out the other day and replacing the bulbs didn't fix that issue. I do have a recall scheduled for January to get the headlights fixed and I'd like them to fix both issues. Thank you.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT A 20 POINT INSPECTION WAS PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE BY SAVAGE KIA (2725 CENTRE AVE, READING, PA 19605, (610) 678-0650). WITHIN LESS THAN 30 DAYS OF OWNING THE VEHICLE, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS FAILED TO TURN ON AND OFF WHEN NECESSARY. THE WIPERS REMAINED ACTIVATED CONTINUOUSLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A WARRANTY AND RECOMMENDED CONTACTING THE MANUFACTURER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA ACTION NUMBERS: EA12004 (VISIBILITY, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AND PE12003 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, VISIBILITY), ALTHOUGH THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED THE SAME FAILURE AS LISTED IN THE COMPLAINTS IN THE INVESTIGATION THAT WERE CLOSED BY NHTSA. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. MY WIFE AND I BOUGHT A USED 2006 CHEVY TRAIL BLAZER. AFTER TWO MONTHS THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WOULD TURN ON EVEN THOUGH THE SWITCH WAS OFF. THE WINDSHIELD WIPER FLUID PUMP WOULD TURN ON AND SPRAY FLUID ON THE WINDSHIELD WHICH GREATLY REDUCED VISIBILITY. AFTER A WEEK I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MY LOCAL GARAGE. THEY REPLACED THE MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH. THIS DIDN'T FIX THE ISSUE, SO THEY REPLACED THE WIPER ASSEMBLY. THIS FIXED THE ISSUE FOR ABOUT THREE WEEKS AND NOW I AM GOING TO HAVE TO TAKE MY VEHICLE BACK AND HAVE THE ASSEMBLY REPLACED AGAIN. THIS HAPPENS AT RANDOM TRAVELING DOWN THE ROADWAY AT RANDOM SPEEDS. THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED. NOT AFTER A REPORTED DEATH!

THE ISSUE IS WITH THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS. THEY INTERMITTENTLY TURN ON AND OFF, SPRAYING WASHER FLUID, REGARDLESS OF THE SWITCH SETTING. THE WIPERS WILL COME ON AND SPRAY WASHER FLUID WITHIN THE FIRST MINUTE OF STARTING THE VEHICLE, AND WILL TURN THEMSELVES OFF WHEN IN USE, OR GO INTO A CONTINUOUS SPRAY MODE WHEN BEING USED, CAUSING VISIBILITY TO BE NONEXISTENT. WHEN THE FUSE WAS PULLED TO PREVENT FURTHER SCRATCHING TO THE WINDSHIELD FOR A TEMPORARY REPRIEVE, THE WIPERS CONTINUED TO GO, WITH NO CHANGE. THE VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAS LESS THAN 135,000 MILES. THE ISSUE FIRST STARTED THE FIRST WEEK OF NOVEMBER 2015 AND HAS PROGRESSED SINCE THEN. IT BEGAN WITH ONE SWIPE OF THE WIPERS JUST AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED AND HAS TURNED INTO AN ISSUE DURING ALL DRIVING CONDITIONS.

SHORTLY AFTER HAVING THE POWER CONTROL MODULE REPLACED & REPROGRAMMED THROUGH A CERTIFIED SHOP, THE DAYTIME RUNNERS/LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS BEGAN WORKING/FAILING INTERMITTENTLY. WE NOTICED THE DAYTIME RUNNER LIGHTS WOULD STOP WORKING/TURN OFF AND ONLY SOMETIMES TURN BACK ON. THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS TURNED OFF WHILE WE WERE DRIVING TO THE STORE AND WE HAD TO USE THE BRIGHTS THE REST OF THE WAY THERE AND WHOLE WAY BACK HOME.

THIS COMPLAINT INVOLVES THE REAR LIFTGATE WIPER NOT FUNCTIONING. IT FIRST STARTED BY RUNNING SLOWER AND SLOWER, THEN FINALLY STOPPED FUNCTIONING COMPLETELY. I HAVE REPLACED IT TWICE NOW, AND BOTH TIMES THE WIPER MOTOR WOULD FUNCTION FOR A VERY BRIEF TIME, THE FIRST TIME AROUND IT DIDN'T LAST FOR 36 HOURS BEFORE CEASING TO FUNCTION AGAIN. I HAVE BEEN TO NUMEROUS FORUMS TO RESEARCH THIS PROBLEM, SUCH AS TRAILVOY.COM, AND IT IS QUITE APPARENT TO ME THAT THIS IS A WIDESPREAD ISSUE, WITH LITTLE HOPE OF AN EASY REPAIR. IT APPEARS THE SUSPECT PART, THE LGM, CAN'T BE ORDERED OR REPLACED BY THE COMMON MAN, AND MANY OF US DO NOT HAVE THE FINANCIAL RESOURCES TO CONTINUALLY BE TAKING THE VEHICLES TO THE SERVICE BAY OF OUR LOCAL CHEVY, GM OR BUICK DEALER. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE FOR MANY REASONS, BUT PARTICULARLY FOR THOSE OF US WHO LIVE IN A RURAL ENVIRONMENT OF DIRT/GRAVEL ROADS AS THE DRAFT AT THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE ALWAYS CAUSES THE LIFT GLASS TO BECOME SOILED, REDUCING VISIBILITY TO NEAR ZERO AT TIMES, WHICH MAKES FOR LESS SAFETY WHEN CHANGING LANES, BACKING UP AND SO ON. ADDITIONALLY, THERE HAS BEEN NO SOLUTION ISSUED YET FOR THE FLICKERING HEADLIGHT ISSUE THAT A RECALL WAS ISSUED FOR LAST YEAR FOR THESE VEHICLES. THIS IS BECOMING MADDENING, IT HAS BEEN FAR TOO LONG. APPARENTLY NONE OF THE HIGHER UPS AT GM LIVE IN REGIONS WHERE THERE IS A SUBSTANTIAL DEER POPULATION. THANKFULLY I HAVE YET TO HIT ONE. IT WOULD SEEM TO ME THAT THIS PROBLEM IS GIVEN VERY LITTLE ATTENTION BY GM.

WITH REGARD TO THE BELOW SERVICE BULLETIN, I WOULD LIKE TO FILE A COMPLAINT. AT APPROXIMATELY 106,000 MILES, MY 2006 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER WINDSHIELD WIPERS AND WINDSHIELD SPRAY MECHANISM ACTIVATED WITHOUT BEING PROMPTED. THE SPRAY RESERVOIR PUMPED WASHER FLUID, AT AN ALARMING RATE, ALL OVER THE WINDSHIELD WHILE I WAS ON A MAJOR FREEWAY. I HAD A VERY HARD TIME MOVING TO THE SAFE LANE TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO A STOP, BECAUSE I COULDN'T SEE ANYTHING. EVEN THOUGH THE WIPERS WERE ON HIGH SPEED, THIS WAS NOT FAST ENOUGH TO REMOVE THE WASHER FLUID SO I COULD SEE. THE WIPERS WILL NOT TURN OFF UNLESS I REMOVE THE FUSE. THEREFORE, WHEN IT IS RAINING AND I'M DRIVING, I HAVE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD AND INSERT THE FUSE INTO THE FUSE BOX TO GET WIPER ACTION. THE WIPERS STARTED ACTING UNPREDICTABLE, WITH THE WASHER FLUID SPRAYING ALL OVER. YOU COULD NOT CONTROL WHEN THE WIPERS WOULD TURN ON OR OFF, THE SPEED THEY WOULD GO, AND THE WASHER FLUID WOULD SPRAY AT RANDOM TIMES. THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS FOR THE TRAILBLAZER FOR THE 02-03 MODELS -HOWEVER, THIS ISSUE DOES NOT SEEM TO BE RESOLVED IN ANY SATISFACTORY WAY. A SIMPLE INTERNET SEARCH WOULD SATISFY THAT INQUIRY. I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, GOING OVER AN EXTREMELY HIGH AND LONG OVERPASS, AND THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS CAME ON SPRAYING WIPER FLUID NON-STOP. I COULDN'T SEE ANYTHING, BUT MANAGED TO GET THE HAZARD LIGHTS ON A GET IN THE EMERGENCY LANE. THE WIPERS COULDN'T BE DISENGAGED AND THE FLUID WAS GUSHING OUT LIKE A WHALE SPOUTING WATER. I REMOVED THE FUSE FOR THE WIPERS AND LET THE FLUID EMPTY ITSELF OUT IN SPRAY. ONCE I GOT HOME, I PUT THE FUSE BACK IN AND THE WIPERS COME ON WITH THE CONTROL IN THE "OFF" POSITION.
