The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact stated that the driver's side power master window switch had failed and failed to roll up the windows. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had caused a significant amount of water to leak into the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and the failure was inked to NHTSA Campaign Number: 13V248000 (Electrical System, Visibility); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 214,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

Keeps blowing #46 headlight relay. Happens every 2-3 weeks. When this happens the low beams stop working. I have to switch to high beams to continue driving.

I've had the brakes replaced because I thought they were an issue I was having with my ABS. But my car will randomly lock its brakes as I'm driving, no matter what speed. I'm scared to drive it. It also almost loses all power after breaking but then speeds up on its own making it almost impossible to slow down or brake.

My headlights turn off bybthemselves while driving, other times they wont turn off at all after car is turned off even while in park, and other times they turn on while switched to off position randomly in the middle of te night resulting in a dead battery come morning. My driver window no longer works as well as driver power locks. Happening since 2020 random at first now permentant removal of fuse switch in order to shut off lights and the fuse switch is hot to the touch upon removal.

THE FIRST THING TO GO WRONG WAS THE POWER WINDOWS DON'T WORK PROPERLY IN THE WINTER, NOW THE AIR CONDITIONER ONLY BLOWS COLD AIR INTERMITTENTLY, AND THE MOST RECENT PROBLEM IS THE HEADLIGHTS WON'T WORK AT ALL, I CALLED THE LOCAL SERVICE CENTER AND THEY SAID THAT THE ELECTRICAL RECALLS WERE VIN SPECIFIC, EVEN THO I HAD THE CORRECT MAKE MODEL AND YEAR MY VIN DID NOT QUALIFY FOR THE RECALL! I'M VERY UPSET THAT THEY CAN BE VIN SPECIFIC BUT I'M HAVING ALL THE ISSUES ON THE RECALLS!! I CAN NO LONGER DRIVE MY VEHICLE IF IT IS RAINING, FOGGY, OR DARK BECAUSE I HAVE NO HEADLIGHTS!!! FFUSE BLOCK CAUGHT ON FIRE BECAUSE OF BAD RELAY. THE LIGHTS WENT OUT ON MY WAY HOME FROM MISSOULA MONTANA TO HAMILTON MONTANA. THANKFULLY THE HIGH BEAMS STILL WORKED . ON OPENING THE FUSE BLOCK THE DAY AND LOW BEAM LIGHS RELAY HAD MELTED A 1/2 INCH HOLE IN THE FUSE BLOCK.

I GOT BACK IN MY VEHICLE AND PROCEEDED TO DRIVE IT BACK HOME AND WITHIN SECONDS I HAD BLACK SMOKE ROLLING FROM DASHBOARD AND FLAMES SHOOTING FROM UNDER DASH ON PASSENGER SIDE HITTING PASSENGER SEAT NEXT TO ME I PULLED OVER AND MY SON AND I JUMPED OUT THANKFULLY HE WAS IN BACK SEAT AND THE CAR WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES WITHIN SECONDS. THE SPEEDOMETER KEEPS MALFUNCTIONING. THE SPEEDOMETER NEEDLE STICKS AT A HIGHER SPEED AFTER DECELERATING OR STOPPING, MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO KNOW WHAT SPEED YOU ARE DRIVING. THIS HAPPENS MOSTLY WHEN THE WEATHER WARMS UP, SPRING/SUMMER/FALL. MAKING A HARD BRAKING STOP, LIKE AT AN INTERSECTION, WILL SOMETIMES CAUSE THE NEEDLE TO DROP BACK 5-10 MPH, AS WILL TURNING THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON. MOST SPECIFICALLY, YESTERDAY, MAY 31, 2019, THE SPEEDOMETER NEEDLE WOULDN'T GO BACK DOWN AT ALL, AND MY SPEEDOMETER WAS "PEGGED" PAST THE TOP END OF 110MPH. IS THE REGULATOR COVERED UNDER A RECALL. I PREVIOUSLY HAD THE DRIVER'S DOOR MASTER POWER WINDOW SWITCH MODULE REPLACED DUE TO A RECALL. I HAVE ALWAYS HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW MECHANISM ALWAYS SLOWING DOWN AND STOPPING MIDWAY DURING COLD TEMPERATURES.

THE IGNITION WILL NOT TURN OFF UNLESS THE BRIGHT LIGHTS ARE ON. AT TIMES, IT WILL START AUTOMATICALLY EVEN WHEN THE IGNITION SWITCH IS TURNED OFF. SOMETIMES THE IGNITION WILL NOT TURN ON OR OFF AT ALL. FUEL SYSTEM IS FAULTY. CONSISTENTLY PROBLEMS HAVE CAUSED THE FUEL PUMP TO GO OUT REPEATEDLY, AND THE FUEL GAUGE TO STOP WORKING. SOLID STATE RELAY MODULE FOR LOW BEAM - HIGH BEAM HEADLIGHTS. WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT, BOTH LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT AT THE SAME TIME. WAS ABLE TO SWITCH TO HIGH BEAMS TO CONTINUE HOME, BUT NOT WITHOUT BLINDING OTHER VEHICLES. REPLACED THE SOLID STATE RELAY AT A LOCAL AUTOZONE STORE. THIS RELAY IS A SINGLE POINT FAILURE, WHICH AN UN-EXPERIENCED DRIVER COULD HAVE HAD A POSSIBLE ACCIDENT IF THE PERSON DID NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO QUICKLY IN A CALM MANNER.

I PARKED MY 2007 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER IN MY DRIVEWAY SUNDAY 6/21/2015. I RECEIVED A CALL AN HOUR LATER FROM MY NEIGHBOR THAT MY LIGHTS WAS STILL ON. I ALWAYS HAVE MY LIGHTS SET THAT WHEN YOU GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE THEY GO OFF AUTOMATICALLY. TRIED TO TURN OFF THE LIGHTS WITH NO LUCK. I SMELLED ELECTRICAL BURNING COMING FROM THE ENGINE AREA. FOUND THE FUSE BOX IN THE ENGINE BAY AND NOTICED THAT THE HDM MODULE #45 WAS COMPLETELY MELTED. WHEN I TOOK THE CAR TO THE AUTO SHOP, NOT ONLY DID THEY FIND THAT THE HDM MODULE #45 WAS MELTED, IT HAD RUINED THE MAIN FUSE CIRCUIT BOARD FROM THE HEAT. LUCKILY THIS HAPPENED DURING THE DAYLIGHT AND NOT AT NIGHT, BECAUSE I WOULDN'T HAVE HAD HEADLIGHTS VERY LONG WITH THIS MODULE BEING MELTED. ALSO THIS COULD HAVE EASILY STARTED A FIRE IN THE ENGINE BAY WITH THE AMOUNT OF HEAT THAT WAS COMING OFF OF THE MELTED HDM MODULE. THIS I BELIEVE IS A SAFETY PROBLEM IN THE TRAILBLAZERS AND SHOULD BE RECALLED.

FUEL GAUGE READ FULL TANK WHEN IN FACT THE TANK WAS EMPTY. I RAN OUT OF GAS IN MY DRIVEWAY. WHEN THIS OCCURRED MY ON DASH COMPUTER WENT CRAZY LIGHTING UP THEN TURNING OFF, WHEN I PUT GAS IN THE CAR AND RESTARTED SEVERAL TIMES THE COMPUTER SEEMED TO CORRECT ITSELF. FILLING THE TANK THE GAUGE READ EMPTY AND REMAINED THAT WAY FOR SEVERAL DAYS. THE GAUGE OPERATES INTERMITTENTLY. I RECENTLY HAD THE FUEL PUMP REPLACED AFTER FAILURE. THE PUMP WAS REPLACED PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT. I HAVE SCHEDULED THE GAUGE REPAIR WITH MY DEALER.

IN RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE, I FOUND SERVICE BULLETIN NO. 10054B WHICH STATES IT IS A PREMATURE WEARING OF THE FUEL SENSOR AND I SHOULD HAVE RECEIVED A MAILED NOTICE FROM GM REGARDING THIS KNOWN ISSUE. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY SUCH NOTICE. THERE ARE NO RECALLS ASSOCIATED WITH MY VIN AND MY WARRANTY HAS NOW EXPIRED SO THERE WILL NOT BE "VEHICLE ELIGIBILITY" FOR THE DEALER TO CONFIRM THROUGH THE "APPLICABLE WARRANTIES SECTION IN THE GLOBAL WARRANTY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM." MY MASTER WINDOW SWITCH CAUGHT FIRE ON 9/27/14. I WOKE UP THAT MORNING TO FIND THAT MY WINDOW DID NOT WORK WHILE DRIVING MY DAUGHTER TO SCHOOL. THEN ALL OF SUDDEN THERE WAS A SMELL OF SOMETHING BURNING ON MY SIDE OF THE CAR. I IMMEDIATELY STOPPED THE CAR AND NOTICED SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE DOOR PANEL. I TOOK OUT THE SWITCH AND IT WAS BURNED. I PAID SOMEONE TO PUT THE WINDOW BACK UP WITH A PRICE OF $150 DUE TO EXTREMELY COLD WEATHER AND HAVING A 2 YEAR OLD. I WENT TO CREW CHEVEROLET TO HAVE THIS REPAIRED WHEN THEY SAID THAT ALL 2005-2007 MASTER DOOR SWITCH WAS ON RECALL DUE TO ELECTRICAL ISSUES THAT MAY CAUSE THE SWITCH TO CATCH FIRE. WHEN THEY LOOKED UP MY VIN THEY TOLD ME THAT MY TRUCK WAS NOT COVERED. MY VEHICLE IS A 2007 AND IM NOT SURE WHY MY VEHICLE IS NOT COVERED. IF THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE, THEN I BELIEVE I SHOULD GET A NEW PART DUE TO A MANUFACTURING ERROR. I HAD THE RECALL FOR THE DOOR WINDOW MASTER CONTROL TAKEN CARE OF ABOUT 9 MONTHS- 1 YEAR AGO. TODAY, THE WINDOW OR DOOR LOCK DID NOT WORK ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO TRY THE POWER MIRROR ADJUST, THE WINDOW WENT DOWN AND SMOKE CAME FROM THE DOOR PANEL. I CONTACTED GM AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS PRETTY MUCH TOUGH LUCK BECAUSE THEY ALREADY TOOK CARE OF THE RECALL. I WAS TOLD THAT I COULD TAKE IT TO A GM DEALER TO HAVE IT FIXED BUT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR IT. REALLY? I'M GUESSING THE MODULE WAS BAD AND CORRODED WHEN I TOOK IT IN FOR THE RECALL. THE RECALL STATES THAT IF THE WINDOW WORKS, SEAL THE PROBLEM AREA AND SEND THEM ON THEIR WAY. AT THE TIME OF THE RECALL, THE WINDOW AND OTHER COMPONENTS DID WORK BUT NOW THE ORIGINAL PROBLEM IS SHOWING UP. I WAS NOT ALLOWED TO WATCH RECALL WORK BEING DONE BUT OBVIOUSLY THIS PROBLEM RESULTED FROM LIQUID LEAKING IN AT ONE TIME AND CAUSING DAMAGE. IT JUST TOOK FOR TODAY TO SHOW UP AND CAUSE A PROBLEM. MY INTERIOR STINKS OF BURNT PLASTIC. MY WINDOW IS PARTIALLY DOWN AND CAN NOT BE ADJUSTED. I'VE READ ONLINE FORUMS CONSISTING OF THE SAME SYMPTOMS THAT I EXPERIENCED TODAY WITH MY TRAILBLAZER. IF THIS WAS JUST A RANDOM PROBLEM OR SOMETHING CAUSED FROM MY USE OR NEGLIGENCE, I WOULD MAN UP AND TAKE CARE OF THIS ON MY OWN... BUT IT'S NOT. GM USED A BAND AID TO TAKE CARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND SOMEBODY WILL END UP GETTING HURT OR BURNED YET. I HAVE A PROSTHETIC LEG AND WHAT IF THE DOOR LOCKS WERE LOCKED SHUT AND THE THING STARTED ON FIRE? LAST MONTH I HAD TO PUT A NEW THROTTLE BODY ON IT BECAUSE THE SENSORS WENT BAD AND WITH THIS YEAR THE SENSORS ARE IN THE THROTTLE BODY, SO YOU HAVE TO BUY THE WHOLE THING. AS I WAS GETTING INTO THE VEHICLE ABOUT A MONTH AGO, THE PART FOR THE SEAT CONTROLS ON THE BOTTOM SIDE OF THE SEAT JUST BUSTED OFF. EVERYTIME IT GETS COLDER OUT, THE STABILITRAK SYSTEM WON'T STAY ON. IT WAS ALWAYS OFF IN THE WINTER TIME, NEVER WORKED. WHEN LIVING IN MICHIGAN AND GETTING LAKE EFFECT SNOW ALOT OF THE TIME, IT WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE IT AVAILABLE. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER GM PRODUCT. TRAVELING AT 65 MPH AT 9PM ON A UNLIGHTED, REMOTE HIGHWAY THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS WENT OFF. THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH WAS IN THE AUTOMATIC POSITION. WHILE PICKING MY CHILDREN UP FROM SCHOOL ON 11/15/2012 I SMELLED BURNING PLASTIC, THEN I LOOKED DOWN AT THE DRIVE DOOR IT WAS SMOKING REALLY BAD. I PUT THE CAR AND PARK AND OPENED THE DOOR, A POLICE OFFICER WAS NEAR AS I WAS IN THE SCHOOL ZONE HE SAW THE SMOKE COMING FROM MY CAR AND ASK ME WAS I OKAY. THE TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT WOULD NOT GO OUT, NOR DID THE ENGINE AND OIL LIGHT GO OUT. A FEW MONTHS AFTER THAT THE SMELL OF WIRES BURNING HAPPENED AGAIN AND THE ENGINE REMAINED ON FOR OVER 2 WEEKS, THEN WENT OFF. IN THE LATE FALL THERE WAS A REALLY BAD THUNDERSTORM AND WHEN ARRIVED TO TRUCK AFTER WORK; RUNNING IN RAIN, I SAW THAT MY WINDOW WAS DOWN AND I COULD NOT GET THE WINDOW BACK UP FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES. I WAS SOAKED AND SO WAS THE CAR. THE TRUCK RECEIVED AN OIL CHANGE RECENTLY AND ALL THE LIGHTS WOULD NOT GO OUT AND THE WALMART MECHANIC WHO DID THE OIL CHANGE STATED THAT HE SMELLED GAS AND SOME WIRES BURNING, LIGHTS ON PANEL WOULD NOT GO OUT. THE FUEL GAUGE IS NOT READING PROPERLY. AFTER A FILLUP, I DROVE TO WORK, WHEN I DROVE HOME LATER, THE GAS GAUGE READ NEAR EMPTY. I THOUGHT SOMEONE STOLE GAS FROM MY TANK. DRIVER SIDE DOOR AND WINDOW SWITCH MODULE FAILED INCREMENTLY STARTING WITH THE WINDOWS THEN DOOR AND WINDOW LOCKS.THIS FAILURE OCCURRED OVER A PERIOD OF APPROXIMATELY WEEK, ENDING WITH A COMPLETE FAILURE OF THE SWITCH MODULE. AT AROUND THE SAME TIME THE FUEL GAUGE BEGAN TO SHOW EMPTY AFTER FILLING UP ALONG WITH THE LOW FUEL LIGHT. THE WINDOW SWITCH'S ON THE OTHER DOORS REMAIN OPERATIONAL. WE DROVE THE VEHICLE HOME BUT NONE OF THE DOOR FUNCTIONS WORKED AT ALL. IT IS GOING TO COST ME APPROXIMATELY $600 TO FIX THIS ISSUE. I HAVE BEEN AFRAID TO DRIVE MY TRAILBLAZER SINCE THAT TIME. 2007 TRAILBLAZER SS DRIVERS DOOR MODULE/WINDOW SWITCH ON MY NORMAL COMMUTE TO WORK, I HAD NOTICED A FAINT BURNING SMELL OF PLASTIC THAT WOULD ONLY LINGER IN THE CABIN FOR A FEW SECONDS. THE SMELL CONTINUED FOR ALMOST A WEEK WITH THE SAME SYMPTOMS AND THEN DISAPPEARED FOR ALMOST 4 DAYS. AFTER THE SMELL OF BURNING PLASTIC WAS NO LONGER THERE, ONE NIGHT WHILE DRIVING, THE DRIVERS DOOR MODULE LIGHTS (DRIVERS, PASSENGER, REAR WINDOWS, WINDOW LOCKS, AND LOCK) WERE FLICKERING AND NOTICEABLY POWER SURGING. I WAS CONCERNED ABOUT THIS ISSUE SO I HAD DONE SOME RESEARCH ONLINE LOOKING FOR ANY INFORMATION THAT MAY LEAD TO A SOLUTION TO MY PROBLEM AND IF ANY OTHER TRAILBLAZER OWNERS WERE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM. SOME RESEARCH INDICATED THAT WIRES MAY HAD BEEN BROKEN INSIDE THE INSULATION THAT GOES FROM THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR TO THE DOOR. I HAD THE VEHICLE INSPECTED AT A CHEVY DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE DDM WAS FUNCTIONAL AND JUST NEEDED A FUSE REPLACEMENT. THAT SAME NIGHT WHEN MOVING THE VEHICLE FROM THE STREET TO MY DRIVEWAY, SMOKE STARTED POURING FROM THE TOP OF THE DOOR PANEL AND IT WAS OBVIOUS THAT PLASTIC WAS BURNING AND ON FIRE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN ENTERING THE VEHICLE, SHE NOTICED THAT THE WINDOWS COULD NOT BE OPENED. THE CONTACT ALSO SMELLED A BURNING ODOR BUT DID NOT SEE SMOKE OR A FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT AFTER REMOVING THE DOOR, THE CONNECTORS IN THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WERE FOUND TO BE MELTED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS LATER CONTACTED AND THEY ADVISED HER TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 67,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

I LEFT MY HOUSE FOR WORK AT APPROXIMATELY 0650 HRS ON FEBRUARY 19TH, 2012. UPON EXITING MY NEIGHBORHOOD'S ENTRANCE, I ACCELERATED TO 35 MPH. I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO EXCEPT STOP THE VEHICLE AND SHUT IT OFF. EVEN WHEN OFF, THE SMOKE CONTINUED TO BILLOW UNTIL I DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY. NEEDLESS TO SAY I WAS LATE TO WORK, SO I RECONNECTED THE BATTERY IN AN ATTEMPT TO MAKE MY WAY TO WORK IN A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME. WHEN I STARTED MY CAR, THE DOME LIGHTS WOULD NOT TURN OFF, THE GAS GAUGE WAS INOPERABLE AND THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOWS/LOCKS WERE RENDERED INOPERATIVE. AS I PULLED INTO WORK, I GLANCED OVER AND SAW THE SMOKE EMITTING FROM THE DOOR PANEL AGAIN, BUT IT WAS NOT AS THICK AS THE FIRST TIME. THANKFULLY, MY COWORKERS WERE STANDING BY READY TO ASSIST ME AS IT HAD BEGUN TO RAIN. THIS EVENT COULD HAVE ENDED MUCH WORSE IF THE DOOR PANEL HAD ACTUALLY CAUGHT FIRE. I HAVE A NEWBORN SON WHO IS APPROXIMATELY 5 WEEKS OLD AND THE TRAILBLAZER IS OUR MAIN SOURCE OF TRANSPORT. ON OR ABOUT 18 OCT 2011, I SMELLED A BURNT ELECTRICAL ODOR IN THE VEHICLE, I BEGAN CHECKING FOR THE SOURCE AND FOUND THAT WHEN I ADJUSTED THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR MIRROR, THE DRIVERS WINDOW LOWERED, AND THE SMELL GOT STRONGER, WHEN THE MIRROR ADJUSTMENT SWITCH WAS RETURNED TO THE CENTER(NEUTRAL) POSITION, THE DRIVERS WINDOW SWITCH OPERATED THE PASSENGER WINDOW. I REMOVED THE DRIVERS DOOR SWITCH MODULE, I FOUND IT TO BE THE SOURCE, AS I REPEATED THE TROUBLESHOOTING PROCESS, I ACTUALLY SAW THE WHITE HOT ARCING TAKING PLACE WITHIN THE SWITCHES (THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS WERE NOT BURNT OR DAMAGED). I DISCONNECTED AND REMOVED THE SWITCH MODULE. THE NEXT DAY I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE LOCAL DEALER WHEREAS, THEY ORDERED THE NEW PART AND REPLACED IT (PARTS & LABOR $460.73 + TAX). FIRST OCCURRENCE, DRIVER WINDOW WOULD NOT GO DOWN EARLY SUMMER 2010. I BROUGHT IT INTO THE CHEVY I BOUGHT MY CAR FROM AND THE WINDOW PART WAS REPLACED. FROM TIME TO TIME I WOULD SMELL BURNING BUT I DIDN'T THINK IT WAS MY CAR, IT DIDN'T HAPPEN EVERY TIME I WAS DRIVING SO I COULDN'T EXPLAIN IT TO CHEVY. #1-THE FUEL GAUGE STOPPED WORKING ON THIS VEHICLE WHILE GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. I WENT ONLINE TO SEE IF I COULD GET AN ANSWER FOR WHY IT WOULD JUST SUDDENLY QUIT WORKING. IT WAS THERE THAT I FOUND HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE WHO EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM. WHEN I CALLED CHEVROLET ABOUT IT, THEY SAID THEY COULD FIX IT FOR $500. I ENDED UP HAVING JUST THE FUEL SENDING UNIT REPLACED ABOUT 5 MONTHS AGO AND AM NOW EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM AGAIN. CHEVROLET IS FULLY AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, AS THEY SENT ME A PAPER SAYING THAT IF I GOT IT REPAIRED AT A CHEVY GARAGE THEY WOULD REIMBURSE 50% OF THE COSTS. TO ME HAVING BEEN AN ISSUE FOR MANY YEARS CHEVY SHOULD PAY TO HAVE THE PROBLEM FIXED NOT ME! #2- DURING ROUTINE DRIVING WE ATTEMPTED TO ROLL DOWN THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW AND IT FAILED TO OPERATE PROPERLY. I TRIED IT A COUPLE OF TIMES AND HAD NO LUCK. WHEN I REACHED MY DESTINATION I LOOKED TO SEE IF MAYBE A WIRE WAS CUT IN THE DOOR HINGE AREA, WHICH IT WASN'T, AND PUT MY FINGER ON THE SWITCH AND NOTICED IT WAS EXTREMELY WARM. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 104,000.

I HAVE EXPERIENCED PROBLEMS WITH MY 2007 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER SINCE I PURCHASED THIS CAR. THE TRANSMISSION MESSED UP ORIGINALLY AND NOW I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY GAS GAUGE INDICATOR. THIS RECENT PROBLEM STARTED LAST YEAR 2010. THE LEVELS WERE READING INACCURATELY AT THAT TIME AND SEEMED TO HAVE REPAIRED ITSELF. THE BEGINNING OF THIS YEAR, THE INDICATORS STOPPED WORKING AGAIN. I NEVER KNOW HOW MUCH GAS IS IN MY TRUCK AND I AM PARANOID AND CONSTANTLY GOING TO THE STORE TO ADD MORE GAS. CHEVY VEHICLES HAVE HAD MULTIPLE PROBLEMS WITH THEIR TPMS (TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM) ON ALL VEHICLE TYPES. THE FAILURE OCCURS AT THE WHEEL ITSELF. ALTHOUGH THIS IS A SAFETY DEVICE, IT HAS TURNED INTO A USELESS PIECE OF EQUIPMENT WHICH NO OWNER CAN AFFORD TO KEEP UP WITH . WHAT HAPPENS IS THAT THE PRESSURE MONITOR SYSTEM AT THE WHEEL IS VERY SENSITIVE AND FAILS QUICKLY. THE AMOUNT OF REPAIR FOR ONE UNIT COSTS APPROXIMATELY $200, AND THAT IS FOR ONE WHEEL. CHEVY SHOULD BE DOING A RECALL ON ALL VEHICLES, THAT HAVE THE TPMS SYSTEM. THIS PROBLEM IS NOT UNIQUE TO ONE VEHICLE, IF YOU DO A GOOGLE SEARCH ON TPMS AND CHEVY OR GM YOU'LL FIND THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. AFTER I HAD THE FIRST ONE REPLACED THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT I SHOULDN'T BOTHER BECAUSE IT WILL ONLY FAIL AGAIN. THE DEALER ALSO SAID THAT HE WISHES THAT CHEVY WOULD INSTALL A BETTER SYSTEM, BECAUSE IT WILL ADVISE YOU THAT YOUR TPMS IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY, AND AFTER IT FAILS, DRIVERS WILL IGNORE THE MESSAGE, WHICH IS A LARGER SAFETY ISSUE. I DON'T KNOW HOW THE DOT WOULD ALLOW GM TO CONTINUE TO USE FAULTY PARTS WHICH IS A SAFETY RELATED ITEM. I THAN REFERRED TO THE OWNERS MANUAL AND LOCATED THE FUSE BOX AND THE FUSE, WHICH WAS BURNED OUT, THIS MAY HAVE STOPPED THE FIRE OR SHORT. FOR MY SAFETY I AM FILLING UP EVERY FEW DAYS BECAUSE I HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH FUEL IS IN THERE. I HAVE BEEN USING MY TRIP ODOMETER TO USE A SOME BASE LINE. MY FEAR IS I WILL BE PULLING INTO TRAFFIC AND IT WILL RUN OUT OF GAS. I BELIEVE THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS AS IT IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE.

AFTER MOVING HALFWAY ACROSS THE COUNTRY, I NOTICED THAT MY FUEL GAUGE WOULD SAY IT WAS FULL FOR WAY TOO LONG, THEN AT ABOUT 3/4 TANK, DROP BASICALLY TO EMPTY. AFTER ABOUT 3 MONTHS, THE GAUGE BEGAN TO NEVER REPORT THAT IT HAD ANYTHING IN IT. MY 2007 GM TRAIL BLAZER'S FUEL GAUGE BEGAN TO SHOW AN EMPTY TANK WHEN I WOULD FILL IT UP, AND THEN WHEN I WOULD DRIVE FOR A WHILE, IT WOULD REGISTER FULL. EVENTUALLY THE ENGINE LIGHT STARTED COMING ON AND GOING OFF AT RANDOM. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A GARAGE AND WAS TOLD IT WOULD COST APPROX. $800.00. I COULD NOT AFFORD THAT, SO I STARTED INQUIRING ABOUT THE FUEL PUMP AND FUEL SENDING UNIT. EVENTUALLY I FOUND A WEB SITE WHERE I COULD PURCHASE THE SENDING UNIT FOR APPROX. HALF THE RETAIL PRICE. I ORDERED THE SENDING UNIT, TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A GARAGE TO HAVE IT REPAIRED AND HAVE NOT HAD ANY OTHER PROBLEMS WITH EITHER THE GAUGE NOT REGISTERING PROPERLY OR THE ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FAILED AND THE ANTI LOCK BRAKE, TIRE PRESSURE, CHECK ENGINE, AND GAS SYMBOLS WERE ILLUMINATED. VEHICLE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS COME ON INTERMITTENTLY. FIRST THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT THEN THE TIRE LIGHT. LIGHTS WOULD EITHER COME ON AND STAY ON OR BLINK, THEY WOULD EVENTUALLY GO OFF OR WOULD CLEAR WHEN TRAILBLAZER STARTED. TOOK TO DEALER WHILE UNDER WARRANTY AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS A PATCH FOR THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND IT WAS CORRECTED, THE NEXT WEEK THE PROBLEM BEGAN AGAIN. RETURNED TO THE DEALER AND SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG. A FEW MONTHS LATER, I TOOK VEHICLE IN FOR A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE AND MENTIONED THAT I WAS STILL HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE LIGHTS, I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS A COMPUTER PROBLEM AND THAT IT WOULD COST 400.00 TO FIX. (THE AUTO WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY) I ASKED DEALER WHY THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WHEN CAR WAS UNDER WARRANTY BUT CAN FIND SOMETHING NOW. THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS A DIFFERENT PROBLEM. FILLED MY TANK AND DROVE AWAY THE MORNING OF THE INCIDENT. WHILE DRIVING LATER THAT DAY MY FUEL GAUGE STARTED GOING DOWN WHILE DRIVING. IT WENT TO EMPTY THE LOW GAS INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON AND IT STAYED THAT WAY FOR A FEW MINUTES BEFORE RETURNING TO FULL. THIS ONLY HAPPENED 1X SO FAR RECENTLY. I'VE ALSO HAD PROBLEM WITH ALL THE GAUGES GOING OUT WHILE DRIVING. SPEEDOMETER/FUEL/ ELECTRICAL/TACH ETC. HAD TO TURN OFF THE VEHICLE AND RESTART TO RESET THESE FUNCTIONS IN THE PAST. 2-3X AN HAD ONSTAR RUN DIAGNOSTICS. THE ELECTRIC STABILITY CONTROL HAS ALSO BEEN COMING ON/OFF INTERMITTENTLY QUITE FREQUENTLY AT STARTUP AND AT OTHER TIMES WHILE DRIVING. WHEN THIS STARTED, THE ENGINE WOULD SHUT DOWN EVERY TIME THE LIGHTS CAME ON.AT FIRST IT WAS AT INTERVALS OF 40 TO 140 MILES. WHENEVER THE ENGINE FIRST STARTED THIS, YOU COULD SHUT THE IGNITION OFF FOR 1-2 MIN. , THEN THE VEHICLE COULD BE STARTED AND DRIVEN UNTIL THE LIGHTS CAME ON. DOTSON CHEVROLET, IN BIG SONNE GAP, VA. ( WHERE WE BOUGHT VEHICLE), HAS HAD THE VEHICLE OFF AND ON FOR 6 WEEKS. THEY HAVE CHANGED THE SENDING UNIT IN THE FUEL TANK, AND THE PCM MODULE ON THE ENGINE SO FAR. AS OF TODAY, 10-19-09 THE VEHICLE IS NOW SHUTTING DOWN AT 8-10 MILES. THEY SAY THEY ARE STILL CHECKING , BUT NOW THEY ARE THINKING THE PROBLEM MAY BE IN THE WIRING. SO FAR, WE HAVE LUCKILY BEEN DRIVING IN LIGHT TRAFFIC, WHERE WE WERE ABLE TO GET OUT TRAFFIC TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM. I HAVE A PROBLEM WHERE THE THROTTLE HANGS UP AROUND 2000 RPM IN ALL GEARS AFTER BEING ON THE THROTTLE AND THEN IMMEDIATELY NEEDING TO SLOW DOWN FOR ANY REASON. THIS IS A TRAILBLAZER SUPER SPORT EQUIPPED WITH THE 395 HP 400 FT LB ENGINE. I HAVE BEEN TO THE DEALER. I HAVE SUED GM FOR THIS BEING A LEMON AND WAS PAID OFF. YET NO FIX. I START BY DOWNSHIFTING IT IN MANUAL 1ST WHILE SLOWING DOWN. (BRAKES REQUIRED TO SLOW FROM 2K HANG UP RPM ON DOWN.) WHEN THE ENGINE IS SLOWING DOWN THERE IS A BUMP AT ~2000 RPM WHERE THE ENGINE SPEED RAISES ABOVE THE INPUT SHAFT SPEED OF THE TRANSMISSION. PRIOR TO THIS IT WAS TURNING SLOWER AND COMPRESSION BRAKING. TIME HERE IS 0 OF THE 11 SECONDS. I HIT THE BRAKES AT 14 MPH TO PULL THE SPEED DOWN FROM 2K RPM AND LET OFF AT 9MPH 3 SECONDS LATER. STARTING AT 1381 RPM FOR THE LOWEST ENGINE RPM, TRANS INPUT SHAFT 50 RPM SLOWER THEN THE ENGINE INDICATING ACCELERATION. AC CLUTCH JUST HAPPENS TO KICK IN HERE. "HERE WE GO!" I SAY. THE NEXT 8 SECONDS WE HAVE THE ENGINE HITS 1650 RPM AND HUNTS AROUND THIS RPM +- 75 RPM WHILE WE HIT 11 MPH. AT 8.4 SECONDS THE ENGINE CUTS BACK TO 1468 RPM. THIS IS WHEN THE TRANS INPUT SPEED IS FASTER THAN THE ENGINE RPM BY AROUND 50 - 70 RPM, THIS INDICATES ENGINE FINALLY SLOWING THE VEHICLE AGAIN. IT ONLY TAKES 5 SECONDS FROM THIS POINT TO SLOW DOWN FROM 11 MPH TO 5MPH WITHOUT ANY BRAKES. THAT IS WHAT IS SCARY - 16 SECONDS OF FIGHTING THE ENGINE WHEN IT COULD HAVE STAYED CUT OUT AND SLOWED DOWN IN LESS THAN 5 SECONDS FROM 2K RPM. MY 2007 NEW TRAILBLAZER STARTED ON FIRE WHILE IT WAS OFF AND PARKED FOR OVER 12 HOURS IN MAY OF 2008. AFTER 2 AND 1/2 MONTHS OF NOT HAVING MY TRUCK IT WAS DETERMINED TO BE AN ELECTRICAL SHORT. GM ADMITTED IT WAS A FAULT OF THEIRS SEEING AS MY TRUCK WAS NOT EVEN A YEAR OLD AND PURCHASED NEW.
