The contact owned a 2010 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, the contact discovered that the driver's side door, the driver's side seat, and the ceiling had caught on fire and was burned; the windshield was also cracked. The vehicle was unoccupied during the fire. A Fire Department report was filed the following day and the Fire Department inspected the vehicle and determined that the wiring was hot to the touch and could have possibly caused the fire; the vehicle was deemed totaled. The local dealer was not contacted. A Police report was not filed. The vehicle remained at the residence. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 175,000.

Two items: Item 1. Transmission switched to neutral by itself traveling at 65 mph. At about 5-6 seconds after the incident, transmission resumed with no further problem. This has happened 3 times. First time was mid 2022. Second and third times happened in late 2022. Appeared to be an intermittent problem. Took to dealership. It happened to a mechanic who drove the vehicle. Dealership thought they fixed the problem. A dealership mechanic, while addressing item number 2 below in 3rd week of April 2023, experienced the motor going into neutral. They had replaced the ignition switch to possibly fix item #2, and were test driving the car, when during the test drives, the motor went into neutral by itself two separate test drives. Item 2. While driving at highway speeds on a freeway in mid February 2023, the engine stopped (speedometer and RPM gauges went to zero). The whole dashboard went black. Power steering was lost. Was lucky to be able to pull over to side of road and stop. Turning ignition key off and on did not restart the car. Took ignition key out, replaced the ignition key, and the car started right up and we were able to continue our journey. This has happened 3 times total so far since February 2023. It has happened at random times. The dealership has not seen any computer feedback to indicate what is wrong for item 1 or item 2 here. So now, there is a new ignition switch, and we are hoping item 2 will not happen on a freeway, or on a crowded road, or anywhere!. I feel fortunate we had a way to pull off to the side of the road. If I was in a middle lane, I don’t know what could have happened. It could have been a pileup accident.

The airbag light on the dash keeps coming off and on randomly. Stays on for a period of time or goes off after a couple seconds. Also for electrical, I was driving down Hwy and the vehicle died and turned back on within 5 seconds. Had to jiggle battery cables for it to come back on. I had two small children in the vehicle and I don’t feel it’s safe to drive any longer.

It happened 2 yrs ago in May. My kids and I were waiting in the vehicle and it cut off all of a sudden. My boyfriend checked it out and wasn’t sure what the problem was. The vehicle got towed. Mechanic said it was a bad ECM. Whomever sold me the vehicle had an Arcadia ECM. The mechanic from the dealership I took it to said it’s on back order. 6 months later he said there’s nothing they can do for my vehicle. So it stayed in my yard for so long. We bought a used ECM from a used auto part. Today my boyfriend had to go on YouTube just to figure out what’s wrong. He was under the hood almost the whole day and now it’s fixed. The only problem is the check engine light is on.

I HAVE HAD ALL ELECTRICAL WORK DONE. THE LIGHTS KEEP GOING OUT ON MY TRUCK. I REPLACE THE LOW BEAM LIGHTS FREQUENTLY. I ALSO HAVE PROBLEMS WHEN I PUMP GAS. THE TRUCK STALLS AND DOES NOT WANT TO CRANK. I HAVE HAD THAT PROBLEM FIXED BEFORE AND IT IS DOING IT AGAIN.

I KEEP HAVING TO GET THE AIR CONDITIONING FIXED. I HAD ALL OF THE ELECTRICAL WORK DONE AND REPLACED AND A FEW MONTHS LATER IT WENT BACK OUT. I REPLACED THE CONDENSOR. I HAD MORE FREON ADDED AND IT STILL BLOWS OUT WARM AIR. THIS IS THE 3RD TIME THAT I HAVE HAD THE AIR TO NOT WORK. VERY FRUSTRATING! WHEN THE CAR IS IN MOTION, IT STILL DOES NOT WORK.

SHOULD NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM.I GOOGLED WHAT WOULD CAUSE THIS TO GO OUT IN SUCH A SHORT TIME FRAME AND READ THAT MOST LIKELY IT WAS NOT GREASED OR ASSEMBLED PROPERLY! FIRST THE DVD PLAYER WENT OUT THEN THE AIR AND HEAT QUIT BLOWING, DURING THIS THE CAR WOULD OCCASIONALLY LOSE POWER COMPLETELY WHILE DRIVING BUT COULD BE BUMPED BACK ON BY JAMMING ON THE GAS OR RESTARTING THE CAR. THE VEHICLE STARTED LOCKING IN MY KEY AND SETTING OFF THE ANTI THEFT ELECTRIC LOCKDOWN. WE REPLACED THE BATTERY AND SOME OF THE ISSUES STOPPED BRIEFLY (THE ANTI THEFT AND POWER LOSS) BUT THE BATTERY COMPLETELY DRAINED WITHIN A MONTH AND THE VEHICLE WILL NO LONGER START OR ALLOW THE BATTERY TO CHARGE VIA JUMP OR CHARGE PACK.

THE BIGGEST ISSUE IS INTERMITTENTLY GOING INTO "LOW ENGINE" MODE, WARNING BLINKS FOR ONLY A SECOND THEN THE CAR WILL NOT GO MORE THAN 10 MILES AN HOUR. THIS IS QUITE DANGEROUS TO ME, MY FAMILY, AND OTHER DRIVERS- IMAGINE THIS HAPPENING ON THE FREEWAY? DOES THIS ISSUE NEED TO RESULT IN A DEATH BEFORE IT IS LOOKED INTO BY THE COMPANY? THE CAR WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF GEARS- HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY WITH NO WARNING SIGNS WHATSOEVER. THE ISSUE HAPPENS WHEN I GO ABOVE 40 MPH, THE THE RPMS GOES TO 9+OFF THE CHARTS AND I CANNOT GO INTO THE NEXT GEAR. SINCE IT HAPPENS ONLY RANDOMLY MECHANICS HAVE A HARD TIME FINDING ISSUE SINCE IT DOES NOT ALWAYS DO THIS FOR THEM. OUR LAST VISIT SUGGESTED TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION, BUT AT A PRICE THAT IS MORE THAN THE VALUE OF THE CAR, THAT IS HARD TO STOMACH. LOTS OF COMPLAINTS OF THIS ISSUE AND CONSIDERING THE 2009 RECALL, MY TWO CENTS IS THE 2010 MODEL MOST OBVIOUSLY HAS SIMILAR MANUFACTURING ISSUES AND A DEEPER INVESTIGATION NEEDS TO TAKE PLACE. OTHER ISSUES, CAR LURCHES/JERKS WHEN PUT INTO DRIVE FROM PARK. PLEASE BACK YOUR COMPANY AND IN GOOD FAITH TAKE CARE OF YOUR CUSTOMERS AS SOME OF US WORK HARD FOR OUR MONEY, THIS SHOULD NOT BE THE RESULT OF SOMETHING ANYONE TAKES PRIDE IN!

AGAIN, LOCAL MECHANIC DOESN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO THAT WON'T COST A FORTUNE, SO ADVISED TO CONTINUE DRIVING IF WHAT WE DO WORKS. FOR THE LAST MONTH OR SO THE STABILITRAK WARNING LIGHT HAS COME ON PERIODICALLY AND THEN THE REDUCED ENGINE POWER LIGHT ALSO COMES ON. THIS HAPPENS WHEN IT IS REALLY COLD. AT FIRST NOTHING ELSE HAPPENED, BUT THE LAST THREE TIMES WE DID LOSE POWER. I WENT DOWN TO 40MPH WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AND THEN AT 21 BELOW LAST NIGHT WE COULDN'T GO OVER 10-15 MPH. AFTER TURNING THE CAR OFF FOR A WHILE IT NORMALLY RE-SETS WHICH IT DID LAST NIGHT AND WE FINALLY MADE IT HOME. THIS ENGINE POWER REDUCTION AND STABILITRAK ISSUE HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ALWAYS ON WHEN THE CAR IS ON.

TCM, CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND NEUTRAL SWITCH HAD BEEN REPLACED AND NO CHANGE. HAPPENS AT VARIOUS SPEEDS - 75, 55,40,8MPH AND STOPPED. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 30 TIMES IN THE 34 DAYS THAT WE HAVE OWNED IT. IT HAS BEEN INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOUR TIMES.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ERIC VON SCHLEDORN CHEVROLET BUICK (805 E GREEN BAY AVE, SAUKVILLE, WI 53080, (262) 284-8000) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIMING CHAIN AND TENSIONER FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,847.

I BOUGHT THIS TRAVERSE USED WITH ONLY 7,000 MILES. AFTER ABOUT A YEAR, THE RADIO AND SCREEN WOULD NOT TURN OFF AFTER TURNING THE CAR OFF AND OPENING THE DOOR. IT WOULD REMAIN ON EVEN AFTER TURNING THE IGNITION ON AND OFF OR OPENING THE DRIVERS DOOR SEVERAL TIMES. THE FRONT PASSENGER WINDOW DOES NOT GO DOWN USING THE DRIVER SIDE CONTROLS, DESPITE MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO FIX IT. I HAVE LEARNED TO LIVE WITH THE ISSUES WHEN RECENTLY ADDITION PROBLEMS HAVE APPEARED. FOR SOME REASON IT FEELS LIKE I AM DRIVING WITH THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ENGAGED OR PULLING A HEAVY TRAILER. MOST OF THE TIME I HAVE TO PRESS HARDER ON THE GAS JUST TO MAKE THE VEHICLE GO. AS A RESULT, THE GAS MILEAGE HAS DROPPED SIGNIFICANTLY. ALSO, SUDDENLY THE AIR CONDITIONER FOR THE DRIVER BLOWS ONLY WARM AIR WHILE ALL THE OTHER VENTS BLOW COLD. THERE IS A CONSTANT CLICKING SOUND BEHIND THE DASH AND I AM ABOUT TO REPLACE A SECOND ACTUATOR. FINALLY, THERE IS A LOUD NOISE FROM THE ENGINE LIKE IT IS STILL RUNNING AFTER IT IS TURNED OFF AND THE KEY IS OUT OF THE IGNITION. I HAVE TO TURN THE IGNITION ON AND OFF AGAIN FOR IT TO STOP. EVEN THEN, THE ENGINE FAN REMAINS ON, WHICH IT NEVER DID BEFORE. ALL THESE STARTED JUST AS IT WAS ABOUT TO HIT 80,000 MILES.

I MADE A STOP AND THE CAR WAS IDLING AND WHEN I GOT BACK IN THE CAR IT SHOWED I HAD 89 MILES WORTH OF GAS LEFT. WHEN I GOT TO MY DESTINATION I GOT THE LOW FUEL WARNING MESSAGE. I HAVE WATCHED MY FUEL GAUGE AND MILE RANGE GO UP INCREMENTALLY WHILE IN PARK. THIS ISSUE IS THE SAME ISSUE AS A RECALL WITH LATER MODELS AND IT CAN CAUSE A TERRIBLE ACCIDENT IF MY CAR STALLS OR SHUTS OFF BECAUSE THERE WAS NOT AS MUCH GAS IN THE CAR AS THE GAUGE STATES. I HAVE AN ISSUE WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WHEN THE VEHICLE GETS WET FROM RAIN OR ANY KIND OF MOISTURE I LOSE ALL WARNING CHIMES, BLINKERS ON OCCASION, AND THE LIGHTS WILL FLICKER AT TIMES. THE VEHICLE LOST POWER QUICKLY AND WE HAD TO CROSS TWO LANES OF TRAFFIC TO GET TO THE SHOULDER. I AM PREGNANT AND MY (XXX) YEAR OLD WAS IN THE CAR. VEHICLE WAS TOWED, I HAD TO PAY FOR A RENTAL CAR. THE BACON CHEVROLET IN PALESTINE CHARGED ME $150 TO RUN DIAGNOSTICS AND GIVE ME AN OIL CHANGE SINCE THAT WAS DUE UP. THEY FIXED THREE RECALLS THAT WERE DUE ON MY VEHICLE I HAD OWNED FOR 1.5 YRS, THEN NONE OF THE LIGHTS CAME BACK ON. THE REPAIR LASTED A WEEK AND THEN I STOPPED TO GET GAS AND THE CAR WOULD NOT SHUT OFF AGAIN AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS OF TURNING THE KEY TO THE OFF POSITION IT FINALLY SHUT DOWN, AFTER GETTING GAS IT TOOK SEVERAL ATTEMPTS FOR THE CAR TO TURN BACK ON ( AT THIS TIME IT DID NOT GO INTO "LIMP" MODE) I TOOK THE CAR DIRECTLY BACK TO THE DEALER WHO HAS HAD THE CAR FOR FOUR DAYS NOW. I JUST RECIEVED A CALL FROM THE CHEVY DEALER STATING IT WOULD NOW COST ME $1200.00 TO REPAIR THE FUSE BOX AND WIRING THAT HAS SOME HOW BECOME WET IN MY GLOVE COMPARTMENT.. AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT FOR PASSENGER AIR BAG CAME ON. WE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND TOOK THE VEHICLE IN TO THE DEALER. THEY COMPLETED THE REQUIRED REPAIR FOR UNDER THE RECALL BUT THAT DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. DEALER ADVISED OF ADDITIONAL FEES TO DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE. WE CONTACTED GM AND RECEIVED AUTHORIZATION FOR THE DEALER TO CONDUCT A DIAGNOSIS OF THE PROBLEM. THE RESULT CONCLUDED THE "SDM" HAD FAILED. THE DEALER COULD NOT TELL US IF THE RECALLED CONNECTOR COULD HAVE CAUSED THE FAILURE. WE WERE REQUIRED TOP PAY $300 TO FIX THIS SAFETY ISSUE THAT WE FEEL SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. I HAVE HAD TROUBLE FROM THE BEGINNING AND HAVE HAD IT CHECKED WITH NO ANSWERS FOUND. THE CAR HAS LOCKED BY ITSELF (WITH AND WITHOUT KEYS IN IGNITION), SOMETIMES THE CAR WILL "DING/ALARM" WHEN THE DOOR IS OPEN AND KEYS ARE IN IGNITION AND SOMETIMES IT WON'T, WINDOWS HAVE ROLLED DOWN BY THEMSELVES, WINDOWS WON'T MOVE WHEN LEVER IS PUSHED (ONLY HAPPENED A COUPLE TIMES), BACK UP "BEEP" SOUND (FOR BACK UP CAMERA) KEEPS BEEPING EVEN AFTER CAR IS PUT INTO DRIVE, THE BATTERY DIED AND HAD TO BE TOWED AND BATTERY REPLACED (LESS THAN A YEAR), THE HAZARD LIGHTS CAME ON ONCE WHILE DRIVING, AND ONCE THE LIGHTS CAME ON WITHOUT BEING TOUCHED. *JS

VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AND GAS PEDAL STUCK AT ABOUT 65 MILES PER HOUR. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR AND BEGIN TRYING TO BRAKE THE VEHICLE. AT THE FIRST AVAILABLE OPPORTUNITY, I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE EXPRESSWAY. WHILE KEEPING BOTH FEET ON THE BRAKE, I PLACED THE TRANSMISSION INTO PARK. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO REV RPMS AT THE EQUIVALENT OF ABOUT 65 MILES PER HOUR. I USED MY RIGHT HAND TO PULL THE ACCELERATOR UP AND THE ENGINE RETURNED TO A NORMAL IDLE. I NOTICED NO EVIDENCE OF THE FLOOR MAT BEING ON THE ACCELERATOR OR IN A POSITION TO CAUSE THE SUDDEN ACCELERATION OR THE CONTINUED ENGINE RAPID RPMS. THE SAME DAY, THE ACCELERATOR STUCK A SECOND TIME AND REQUIRED ME TO PULL THE GAS PEDAL UP IN ORDER TO GET THE ENGINE TO RETURN TO NORMAL RPMS. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH WITH THE AIR CONDITIONER ACTIVATED WHEN SUDDENLY WITHOUT WARNING, THE AIR CONDITIONER BLOWER FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO LOCATE THE PROBLEM. THE FAILURE RECURRED FOR THE SECOND TIME AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DIFFERENT DEALER WHO SUGGESTED IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE FAILURE, THAT THE ENGINE BE TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED TO RESET THE AIR CONDITIONER BLOWER. THE SERVICE STABILITRAK, SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL, PARK ASSIST OFF AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. UPON RESTARTING THE VEHICLE, IT FUNCTIONED NORMALLY BUT THE CHECK ENGINE SERVICE LIGHT CONTINUED TO ILLUMINATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE COMPUTER SYSTEM WAS RESET. THE FAILURE RECURRED THREE TIMES AND WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. WHEN THE SECOND FAILURE OCCURRED, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A WIRE UNDERNEATH THE HOOD WHICH WAS MISSING ITS PROTECTIVE COVERING AND NEEDED TO BE RE-COATED. THE WIRE WAS RECOATED AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO FUNCTION NORMALLY FOR APPROXIMATELY TWO MONTHS UNTIL THE FAILURE RECURRED TWICE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON BOTH OCCASIONS BUT THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED.
