The manufacturer has failed to remedy this safety recall. The recall is dated May 10, 2023, and now over 2 years later there is no remedy. I remain concerned about my safety and the safety of my family, while driving this car. Despite the cost of replacement, but in consideration of the potential seriousness of the issue, time fame involved, and lack of action by the manufacturer, I am requesting complete replacement of all airbags in the above-referenced car.

Multiple issues have occurred with this vehicle. I have had major unsafe issues while driving while on the freeway and streets where my vehicle reads traction control off and engine power reduced which leads my vehicle to lose all power and shut down being stranded and almost hit multiple times while by myself and while my husband and children are present. I believe I am the second or third owner of this vehicle and I was never given any information about any recalls

I received a recall notice for my 2014 Chevy Traverse airbag June of 2023. I have tried to set up an appointment to have it replaced many times and am told that parts are not available. Many manufacturers have already taken care of the replacement. I am concerned about operating my vehicle in an unsafe manner. When can I expect this to be taken care of?

Recall #: 23V334 or N232404980 still shows as incomplete, no remedy available. This recall was announced in May of 2023. We're almost a year and a half out with no solution from GM. I do not feel comfortable driving my vehicle in another Minnesota winter without this fixed. I am a parent of 4 young children who I also drive around daily. This is unacceptable to have a defect with the airbags that is life threatening, and GM has not offered ANY solution.

I have been receiving warning messages on my dashboard regarding Service The Stabilitrak, followed by Traction Control Off message and then vehicle shaking, losing steering power and engine shutting down for over a year. The issue occurs randomly making it difficult to repair. I have had it serviced multiple times by different mechanics and no one has been able to find a solution due to the random nature of the issue. This poses a risk to the vehicle occupants safety because when unexpectedly and suddenly losing engine power, steering and traction control all at the same time, it is very difficult to safely merge to the shoulder of a roadway. I have been left stranded in many locations including out of town. Due to my research this is a common issue with this vehicle that can be caused by multiple issues. I also have a recall on my air bag and warnings have appeared on my dashboard that has no remedy yet. The vehicle is not safe to drive and I depend on this SUV to transport my family of 7. I am also still financing, making it difficult to keep up with payments while trying to diagnose/ repair.

I received a recall in June 2023. I continually call the Chevy dealers and they state there is no remedy to have this recall done. Some one died from this issue why has GM not been forced to get these parts to dealers so this dangerous issue can be fixed????? I don’t have the option to not drive my vehicle I am a single parent that has to work. I do not want my child to be hurt or killed either if this airbag goes off! Please get this issue handled so we can have these airbags fixed. It’s been over a year since I received this letter.

Jun 8, 2024

In June of 2023 I was notified of a recall on my 2024 Traverse. The notification states that if the airbag were to deploy, there is a chance of shrapnel being fired into the cabin and killing the occupants. (Recall N232404980). I have reached out to my local Chevy dealer multiple times and been told that there is no resolution at this time. As of today, I checked GM's web site and there is still no resolution. I feel that my safety and the safety of my passengers is at risk every time we are in this vehicle. I cannot afford to park this vehicle and wait for OVER A YEAR for GM to come up with a solution to this very dangerous issue. The vehicle is worthless to sell on the market. Anyone dumb enough to knowingly buy a vehicle with the equivalent of a loaded shotgun pointing at their face would have to be dumber than I am for driving it and allowing family members to drive it. But again, it's all I have so what can I do?

There is a recall for the airbag, the vehicle has a warning light on inside the instrument cluster. I keep calling the dealer to have it repaired as I am nervous about having my son drive this car. The dealer keeps telling me GM has no remedy for repair. This is unacceptable, it's been years now that this airbag fiasco has been going on. Is NHTSA just going to let GM take their time until all of these vehicles equipped with faulty airbags just go out of service? What is the plan of action?

We received a notice from Chevrolet in May of 2023 that our vehicle has been recalled for an issue with the air bag. Manufacturer Recall Number N232404980 NHTSA Recall Number23V334 I have tried Chevrolet and all local dealers so many times and keep getting brushed off that they can't do it. I can't rent the car, I can't use it for Uber/Lyft, I can't sell the vehicle. All because there is an open recall against it for a full year. My airbag light has now been on for several months and I dont want to drive it because of the fear that it might explode. So I pay taxes on a vehicle that mostly sits. I plan to drop it off with the local Cheverolet dealer and make them look at the error again (did it last year too). One year and no fix is unacceptable.

Apr 27, 2024

I had purchased this traverse about a year before this recall came out. Well the Recall is over a year old with no solution and everyone refuses to do anything about it. It is unsafe for my family to be in this vehicle with a potential bomb in the steering wheel that will shoot metal at my family and I if the airbag goes off. I need someone to do something about this recall. Fix it, buy the car back, provide a loaner or something. I am tired of taking a gamble on my family's lives because I am stuck with this vehicle.

GM had informed about a safety recall on 2023-05-10 (almost an year ago) - NHTSA ID - [XXX] . I have been following up with GM as well as the Chevy Service Dealer and have been informed that a remediation is not available yet. I am not able to sell my car at the price it deserves due to the recall. Also I have not been driving my car long distances due to the Safety Risk Description: An inflator rupture may cause metal fragments to pass through the airbag and into the vehicle interior, which may result in injury or death to vehicle occupants. Can you please direct the manufacturer GM to remediate the issue at the earliest. I dont believe 1 year is a reasonable time to fix a safety issue which has the potential of driver death or permanent disablement. The connector module under the passenger side front seat that control the air bag is consistently triggered by bump or seat movement which sets off service airbag warning light. This therefore puts my car at risk for not properly deflating airbags on impact. This has been fixed at a local shop in 2023 and continues to be a problem for a lot of people. This should be a recall because it puts lives at risk with the airbag system malfunctioning.

Mar 20, 2024

Recall still not repaired. It was issued May 10, 2023 and here we are 10 months later.

Mar 15, 2024

They have not fixed it yet I took it months ago and they say they don't have a remedy, but on here it says to replace driver airbag. The airbag lights come on and stay on then go off so I think something is wrong. I take my kid to and from school everyday in this vehicle. Please make them fix it.

I am filing a complaint as the recall for the air bag module was first issued in May 2023. It's been10 months and there is still no remedy to fix the air bag issue. I drive with kids in my car everyday. I fear of getting into an accident and possible metal fragments come out of the airbag and into the interior of my car.

Feb 29, 2024

Service Airbag message came on along with airbag warning light. Problem is with connectors under the front driver seat that come apart when the seat moves forward and back. This was a recall on previous models, but not this one. It’s the same exact issue. Also, no remedy for steering wheel airbag that could shoot deadly metal shards into your face. This is deplorable.

Feb 26, 2024

Airbag is part of a safety recall and has been so for over a year, no remedy available and there is risk of death. this is completely unacceptable. The company should be responsible for a replacement vehicle, cost of a rental until remedy is available, or fix the issue immediately.

Chevy still hasn't come up with a solution for airbag. I'm driving essentially a gun if I wreck.

Feb 7, 2024

In summer of 2023, I received a recall letter regarding my 2014 Chevy Traverse involving the air bag. The recall states, “An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants, resulting in serious injury or death.” Essentially a bomb could be going off in my car if my air bag were to deploy. I have awaited a resolution to this recall for what I feel is a reasonable amount of time for the manufacturer to provide a solution given that my car is essentially a ticking time bomb. I fear for the safety of myself and my family. I would like the NHTSA to look into this matter and find out why such a dangerous situation has yet to be remedied. Otherwise I may have to seek out legal council, hopefully prior to any devastating consequences.

I noticed an warning indicator on my vehicle that says SERVICE AIR BAG. I received a recall notice from GM, stating that my car has a recall that needs to be serviced. I called my local GM Service Dealer, and they informed me that this recall "does not have a remedy yet" and they are not able to fix it for me. I looked online to see what the severity is. Safety Risk Description: An inflator rupture may cause metal fragments to pass through the airbag and into the vehicle interior, which may result in injury or death to vehicle occupants. This is very disturbing to me and makes me uneasy to continue driving my vehicle.

Feb 2, 2024

It has been 9 months since I received a letter notifying me of this potentially fatal issue with my car and a repair is still not available. I am furious that it is taking so long and there need to be legal repercussions for the manufacturer taking this much time to procure a replacement. My car is not safe to drive; I do not feel safe driving my car. I am not getting what I paid for. NHTSA needs to put immense pressure on these manufacturers to hurry up and get a repair for these vehicles so people are not risking their lives driving their car everyday! What is the point of this organization if you have no legal right to demand recalls be repaired in a timely manner?!

In Sept 2022 my airbag light came on and dealer charged me $1,200 for a senor issue to fix, then in December 2022 it came on again they said it was a different issue related to vehicle safety and charged me for part. Then in June 2023 i received the recall notice for my airbag - I've tried multiple times to see when this can be fixed hopefully prior to shards of metal impaling me - told parts not available. In October 2023 the airbag light came on again and this time they said it was the seatbelt anchor and want to charge me $487. It appears they need to figure out a priority to fix what can harm people - if they have parts to make new cars. also it is obvious this vehicle has safety issues making money for dealer and costly both time and money (dealer doesn't offer loaners). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Back in July 2023, we received a letter from Chevy stating that our vehicle, 2014 Chevy Traverse, has a recall for the driver airbag being faulty and that they do not have a remedy or parts to fix the recall. It has been a 4+ months with no other word. Just recently my airbag light has come on saying the airbag needs servicing. This makes me very uncomfortable to drive our Traverse. My husband called the Chevy manufacture number they provided on the original recall notice and they confirmed that there are no remedies or parts to fix this recall still. What exactly are we supposed to do now??How do I drive it and not be worried that if someone hit my car or anything minor happens, that my airbag won't deploy and shoot metal at my face/neck?

Oct 29, 2023

my airbag warning light comes on intermittently and the dealer has said the parts are not available for me to get the airbag fixed. The letter I received from Chevrolet said not to drive the car and that there was no remedy. I would like a replacement vehicle until the parts are available to fix the airbag.

I have been to two dealerships and there is no remedy for this recall. I asked to have the airbag on the driver side deactivated but was told that this was not possible " legally" because it would put the dealership at risk for liability. Well, GM is at risk for liability if I'm in a crash where this airbag might deploy. Can I have this airbag deactivated while I wait for a remedy? What are my options?

Recall is for the airbag and shows no remedy. Dealer has not provided a fix for this recall and is unwilling to repurchase the vehicle at a fair market value.

Oct 4, 2023

I took it in to have the recall fixed, they told me they couldn't fix it, that I should not drive it, do not let a passenger ride in the front, they are having an issue they haven't encounterd with the other traversese he contacted somone to find out what to do and as soon as they get a letter he will let me know. I asked if it was safe to drive the look on his face was absolutely not, to just park it, and borrow or rent one, I do not have the money to do this, he said that I should be very very careful not to do anything to set off the airbag and only drive it if there is no other option, I made it clear there was not. I have had 5 close calls that could have set it off a few, inches were how close it was the last one someone almost hit me . I have a daughter I have to take to and from school the busses don't come out where we live. I just want it fixed,

To Whom It May Concern: I received a letter from [XXX] the Vice President of Global Product Safety and Systems of Chevrolet General Motors in June 2023 concerning a safety recall: N232404980 From the letter I received: "General Motors has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2014 model year Chevrolet Traverse vehicles. As a result, GM is conducting a safety recall." However, parts to repair my vehicle are not currently available. It is now October 2, 2023. When I called the Customer Service number provided I was directed to Platinum Chevrolet in Santa Rosa to make an appointment to remedy this situation. I was told they still do not have the parts available for the front-driver airbag inflator. I am very concerned about this because I use this vehicle to transport myself and family to and from work and school. In the safety recall letter I received it also states: "In these vehicles, the front-driver airbag inflator may contain a supplier manufacturing defect that may results in inflator rupture deployment. An inflator rupture may cause metal fragments to pass through the airbag and into the vehicle interior, which may result in injury or death to vehicle occupants." Please let me know how I can get this situation resolved. I need to use this vehicle to provide for my family but I do not want to die from driving a car that I am paying for. Sincerely, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I received a recall notice back in June about a problem with my car's airbag inflator. To this date I still haven't heard from GM or anyone else about getting this potential deadly problem fixed. They indicated that the part to fix the issue isn't available. How can that be?! They issue a recall but don't have the part even months later?! I'm worried about this issue as, according to their own letter, that if the airbag deploys I can possibly be injured or killed! Why don't they have the part?! When am I going to be able to get this issue rectified? I do a lot of driving & on major highways & places where there are many careless dangerous drivers & chances of animals crossing the roadways. GM is putting my life at risk more by not having their safety features be safe! They may be the ones to cause a death. That is simply by not having their safety devices in proper working order & not having the part to correct the device so that this issue can be promptly taken care of! Please let me know asap what can be done so I can get this issue fixed & be safe driving my car without at least this defect to worry about.

I got the recall letter in June but there still aren't parts to fix it they say , it's the only vehicle I drive but it is terrifying that the airbag is dangerous! I just want it fixed before it hurts or kills one of us, the service airbag light comes on once in a while and stays on longer each time it comes on.

Aug 17, 2023

After receiving the recall information that the airbag deploy throwing shrapnel through the cabin, we contacted GM to discover that no replacement is currently available. We asked for a rental car since our current vehicle is potentially lethal for my wife and children. They were unwilling to provide that. we now have a vehicle that is potentially deadly that we have no remedy for and no solution for transporting our family safely

Aug 15, 2023

Chevrolet recalled the airbag in my 2014 Chevrolet Traverse in May due to faulty mechanisms that may release shards of metal during airbag deployment: Takata airbag inflators. After multiple phone calls to both my local Chevrolet dealer and corporate, noone is able to assist me with this matter. The replacement part is unavailable, and they cannot say when it will be available. They are offering no remedy in the interim, e.g. no rental car, etc. I also inquired about the order in which owners would be eligible for replacement when the part is ready, and no information was available. In my last phone call to Chevrolet Customer Service, I was read a statement in which they claimed that customer safety was their first concern, however, it has been three months since the recall and my family is still at risk of serious injury/ death driving in our vehicle.

I received the notification of faulty airbags from my insurance company. GM has yet to inform me of this recall. I have contacted multiple dealerships about this problem. They would not even do an inspection. I also contacted GM about this recall since it could result in death and I travel about a rental or a push to get the airbags replaced since they know the driver airbag modular has to be replaced. They have refused to contact me or move forward fixing this problem. They have yet to send a letter or email to notify me of the recall in the first place. Thank goodness my insurance company knows how to communicate important information. GM knows how to fix the problem but they are not nor are they helping us who have concerns.

Service air bag keeps coming on. We took it to Chevy dealership and was told the air bag sensor is malfunctioning which is causing the air bag light and service air bag message to appear on the dashboard.

Jul 14, 2022

I know there are recalls on other Chevy traverse for air bags. My air bag light goes off every so often, I’m just waiting for the day for it to go off in my face while driving. My power steering pressure pump has been leaking, no longer have power steering, makes driving very difficult/unsafe. I’ve heard of many other Traverse vehicles with the same problem, but why is it not being addressed?

Jul 5, 2022

The airbag system does not register the air bag as functional and recommends airbag be serviced. I have been to the dealership and they cannot find the issue. They turned off the light, which turns back on. There is something faulty in the airbag system and I am concerned that if I am in an accident, the system will fail. We have been waiting for a recall and cannot believe it hasn't happened yet.

May 21, 2022

Airbags light turns off & on. Then my vehicle will reset itself while driving. All gauges & lights turn off in vehicle & I have to pull over, turn the car on & off for it to work. Vehicle airbag will also make a popping sound when airbag light turns on & off. Vehicle turns off while driving & fuel light will say full then drop to empty. Power steering will go out & turn back on randomly.

Oct 18, 2021 Crash

I had a major accident on Thursday, 10/14/2021 where I was it on my drivers side with the other party hitting me around 50-55mph. When the crash occurred, none of the airbags deployed. My side airbag should have deployed. That is a major safety issue, and I might not have hit my head or the steering wheel had they deployed.

Oct 11, 2021

I recently purchased a 2014 Chevy traverse LT. While driving on a four lane busy road with a 65 mph speed limit my vehicle without warning said “traction control off, reduced engine power” and within seconds I had no power stealing and I went from driving 65 mph to 10 in less then 10 seconds, the car started violently shaking as well. I had to aggressively redirect the steering wheel to get to the side of the road and turn the vehicle off & wait a few minutes & restart it. It seemed to fix the problem. Within a week it happened again, on the way home from work, and I was nearly rear ended at a 60 mph speed and I am now terrified to drive the car more then a mile up the road to my kids school, I have two small children and this has put us in an almost near death situation TWICE! I purchased this car so I would have a reliable vehicle for my kids and I and it’s been terrifying for my children and I to own this Chevy! The dealership I purchased the vehicle from is over two hours away, I also live in a rural area so to have it diagnosed I’d be having to drive at least 15 miles and I’m terrified to do so

When starting the suv, Service air bag comes on and constantly stays on. Dealer says there are no service recalls but online found numerous same year problems referring to this cause.

Sep 13, 2021

Air Bag Light on States Service Soon. Light stays on all when is on and Passenger side Light indicate word off. Took SUV to Dealer to service the problem. Dealer service claim the connector under the drivers seat needs repaired. This is a Chevrolet SUV 2014 Traverse vehicle and it has a "Bad Air Bag System", "Air Bag System With Bad Wiring".

Aug 21, 2021

THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES. Dealership is unsure what exactly is the issue with the vehicle. While driving the vehicle out of nowhere the engine stalls and the 'engine power is reduced', 'service traction control', 'service stability track' and 'service air bag' messages illuminate across the dash. While these messages display there is no acceleration to the vehicle. This makes it very dangerous to drive.

MADE AN APPT. WITH A CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP WITH A SERVICE AIRBAG RED LIGHT ON THE DASH BOARD ON 6/28/2019. APPOINTMENT WAS CONFIRMED AND ONCE THERE, I WAS TOLD TO RETURN THE VEHICLE ON ANOTHER DAY, NO APPT. AVAILABLE. TO MY SURPRISE, THE DEALERSHIP ADVISED ME TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE MY CAR. I DID RETURN ON 7/2/2019 DIAG. $158.80 AND TO FIX AN ADDITIONAL $400.00. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE AIRBAG CONNECTOR. I SHOULD KNOW, NOT LONG AFTER I PURCHASED MY CAR I WENT TO GET SERVICE FOR A SEAT BELT RECALL AND THE CAR WAS RETURNED WITH A SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT. I WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT LET ME DRIVE THE CAR BECAUSE IT'S A LIABILITY. I GUESS BECAUSE THE CAR IS NO LONGER UNDER THEIR WARRANTY, IT DOESN'T MATTER. THE ERROR CODE WAS B0014: DRIVER SEAT SIDE AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT LOOP RESISTANCE ABOVE THRESHOLD. TO MY UNDERSTANDING THERE IS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY UNDER THE SAFETY BULLETIN N192219480 WHICH COVERS THIS MALFUNCTION UP TO 12 YEARS OR 180,000 MILES. IF THIS IS TRUE PLEASE ADVISE.

AIR BAG LIGHT HAS BEEN GOING OFF AND ON FOR 2 YRS. IVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES. IN FACT, I TOOK IT 4 TIMES BECAUSE THEY SAID THEY FIXED IT, DRIVE OFF DEALER LOT AND THE AIR BAG LIGHT GOES OFF AGAIN. FINALLY FIXED IT. 6 MONTHS LATER AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON AGAIN! THE AIR BAG LIGHT GOES OFF AND ON ALL THE TIME. IT SEEMS TO BE A WIRING ISSUE OR LOOSE FITTING BUT DEALER CANT SEEM TO FIX IT PERMANENTLY. SOMETIMES THE LIGHT WILL GO ON WHEN I START THE CAR FIRST THING IN THE AM WHILE IM PARKED IN THE GARAGE OVERNIGHT. SOMETIMES IT GOES OFF WHILE DRIVING-DOESNT SEEM TO MATTER IF CAR IS IN MOTION OR NOT. IVE HAD TO PAY TO HAVE DEALER "FIX" IT BUT ITS NOT FIXED WHATEVER IS THE ISSUE. I ESTIMATE THAT AIR BAG LIGHT HAS GONE ON AT LEAST A DOZEN TIMES AND MOST RECENTLY LAST MONTH.

AC WON'T COME ON OR JUST SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING, SOMETIMES THE SERVICE AIRBAG WARNING COMES ON, SOMETIMES IT SETS A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CODE P0119, IF THE RECIRCULATE BUTTON IS NOT ON THEN IT LIGHTS UP AND AC COMPRESSOR SHUTS OFF, PULL OVER OUT OF TRAFFIC AND SHUT THE CAR OFF AND LET EVERYTHING COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND RESTART THE CAR, SOMETIMES EVERY THING CLEARS UP BUT SOMETIMES IT TAKES SEVERAL RESTARTS TO GET CAR TO FUNCTION PROPERLY. HAPPENS DRIVING ON ROAD OR STATIONARY. CHECKED BATTERY BUT SEEMS TO BE OK, CHECKED FUSE BOX AND THE ENTIRE FUSE BOX IS LOOSE, THE HOLD DOWN SCREWS IN THE FUSE BOX APPEAR TO BE STRIPPED AND WILL NOT TIGHTEN, SHIMMED THE BOX TO THE FRAME TO PREVENT IT FROM SHAKING AROUND IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. CAR WAS PURCHASED FROM LAKESIDE CHEVROLET IN ROCKWALL, TX AS A CERTIFIED USED CAR, IT HAS BEEN BACK TO THE DEALER FOR THE SERVICE AIRBAG ISSUE BUT THEY DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. HAS BEEN HAPPENING EVERY SINCE WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. KEEP LOOKING FOR RECALLS BUT NOTHING YET. THERE ARE CONSIDERABLE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM OR SIMILAR PROBLEMS. THE PROBLEM WITH CARRYING THIS VEHICLE BACK TO DEALER IS THAT THEY DON'T SEEM TO KNOW HOW TO FIX IT. 76,600 MILES AND THE SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT IS ILLUMINATED ON MY DASH . DEALER IS AWARE OF ISSUE. 2013 TRAVERSES WERE RECALLED FOR THE SAME ISSUE BUT 2014 ONLY RECEIVED A SERVICE BULLETIN TO EXTEND THE WARRANTY TO 72,000 OR 6 YEARS WHICH EVER CAME FIRST. THE AIR BAGS WILL NOT WORK WHEN THE LIGHT IS ON PUTTING MY CHILDREN AND I AT SERIOUS RISK IF INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. THIS PROBLEM IS DUE TO A WIRE HARNESS UNDER THE SEAT THAT NEEDS TO BE SOLDERED WITH A SPECIALIZED BY THE DEALER. THE DEALERSHIP STATED THE LONGER THE LIGHT STAYS ON THE LESS OF A CHANCE THE AIRBAGS WILL WORK EVEN AFTER THE REPAIR IS COMPLETED. THERE ARE SO HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME ISSUE FROM OTHER 2014 TRAVERSE OWNERS. I CALLED THE ESTERO BAY CHEVROLET YESTERDAY TO NOTIFY THEM OF THE ISSUE AND THE SERVICE MANAGER KEVIN TOLD ME THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY A $119 DIAGNOSIS FEE AND FOR THE REPAIR TO FIX THE ISSUE. THE REPAIR COULD COST BETWEEN $300 - $1,200. THE DEALER SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR FIXING THIS SAFETY ISSUE.THIS PROBLEM IS BECAUSE OF THEIR CHOICE TO USE LOW QUALITY PARTS OR THEIR MANUFACTURING IN THE FACTORY AND NOT A NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR ISSUE. I CAN NOT AFFORD TO FIX THIS ISSUE AND AM CONCERNED THAT THERE IS A CHANCE EVEN AFTER PAYING FOR THE REPAIRS THAT MY AIRBAGS WILL NOT WORK TO PROTECT MY FAMILY IF INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT.

THE SERVICE AIRBAG ALERT COMES ON FOR NO REASON, THEN GOES OFF. IT CAME BACK ON AGAIN AND DID NOT GO OFF. I DRIVE SPEEDS OF 30 TO 60 MPH. MY LIGHTS ON THE DASH AND RADIO DIMS AND THE RADIO CUTOFF AT ANY GIVEN TIME. THIS IS VERY SERIOUS PROBLEMS BECAUSE THE VEHICLE CAN CUT OFF WHILE I AM DRIVING. I ALSO EXPERIENCE WATER POURING INTO TO MY TRAVERSE RIGHT OVER MY FRONT OVER HEAD LAMPS INSIDE. THERE WAS SO MUCH WATER IT FILLED THE CUP HOLDER AND THE SHIFT WAS WET. THE FRONT WINDSHIELD HAS NEVER BEEN CHANGED AND I DON'T HAVE ANY CRACKS ON MY FRONT WINDOW. I HAVE NO CLUE HOW THE WATER IS COMING INTO MY TRAVERSE FROM THE TOP AND LEAKING IN THROUGH THE FRONT OVER HEAD LAMPS. I HAVE BROUGHT IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP, 1 DAY AGO I STILL HAVE NOT HEARD BACK FROM ANYONE. I ASKED IF IT WAS COMMON, WITH THE TRAVERSE AND I WAS TOLD NO. I OBVIOUSLY THEY LIED, BECAUSE I HAD TO COME ON THIS WEBSITE TO SEE THAT OTHER PEOPLE ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEMS. I AM NOT A CAR EXPERT BUT THE MAN AT THE DEALERSHIP THAT HAS BEEN DOING THIS LINE OF WORK FOR 30+ YEARS SAID HE COULD SMELL THE WATER HAS SOON HAS HE SAT IN THE VEHICLE. SO OBVIOUSLY WATER HAS BEEN LEAKING IN FROM SOME WHERE FOR A WHILE NOW TO BE ABLE TO SMELL THE WATER. I KEEP MY CAR VERY CLEAN AND MY CARPETS ARE DRY. SO THE WATER MUST BE COMING IN SOMEWHERE FROM THE ROOF AND STAYING RESERVED IN A PARTICULAR AREA UNTIL IT POURS OUT. THE WATER MAY BE THE REASON I AM HAVING THE OTHER ISSUES, AND MAY BE EACH PROBLEMS IS NOT RELATED AT ALL. IT IS VERY FRUSTRATING BECAUSE I AM PAYING CAR NOTE ON A CAR THAT IS AM SKEPTICAL ABOUT DRIVING BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW IF IT SAFE TO DRIVE. I HAVE NOT ONLY MY SAFETY TO WORRY ABOUT I ALSO HAVE MY CHILDREN SAFETY CONSIDER AND OTHER PEOPLE THAT RIDE IN THIS VEHICLE TOO. THE LIGHTS DIMS WHILE DRIVING OR WHEN IDLING. NOW 3 WEEKS AFTER HAVING IT SERVICED MY SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON AGAIN! I HAVE 3 SMALL KIDS IN MY CAR EVERY DAY AND I AM WORRIED TO BE DRIVING IT. I THINK THAT GM SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THIS ISSUE!!

THE AIRBAG LIGHT CONTINUES TO COME ON, THERE IS, PER THE SELLER NO PROBLEM AND THE 36,000 MILES AND 3 YEARS IS PAST SO I HAVE TO PAY TO TRY TO FIGURE OUT THE ISSUE, MEANWHILE I HAVE NO IDEA IF THE AIRBAGS ARE EVEN WORKING!

WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN OPERATION IN ANY DRIVING CONDITION THE AIRBAG SERVICE INDICATOR WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ON. THIS WAS INTERMITTENT AT FIRST AND THEN STAYED ON AFTER A FEW DAYS. DEALER WILL NOT COVER THIS KEY SAFETY COMPONENT FAILURE. THIS SEEMS TO BE RELATED TO THE LAST RECALL FOR AIRBAG FAILURE ON THE 2009-2013 TRAVERSE MODEL VEHICLES MADE THIS YEAR. THE RECALL FIXES THE YELLOW WIRE HARNESS CONNECTOR FAILURE BY CUTTING IT AWAY AND SPLICING THE WIRES TOGETHER. THERE ARE NOW TECHNICAL BULLETINS OUT FOR THE 2014 TRAVERSES THAT SEEM TO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. *JS

DEALER HAS TOLD ME THAT THE VEHICLE REGISTERS AN ERROR CODE OF B0022. ACCORDING TO THE DEALER, GM TELLS THEM TO CHECK FOUR WIRES ON THE CONNECTORS TO THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WIRING HARNESS THAT CAUSES THE CHECK AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE. SPECIFICALLY, GM TELLS THE DEALER TO SOLDER THE CONNECTIONS ON THE FOUR WIRES ON THE CONNECTOR. THE DEALER HAS ALSO TOLD ME THAT IF THE WARNING LIGHT FOR THE AIR BAG SYSTEM IS ILLUMINATED, NONE OF THE AIRBAGS WILL DEPLOY. IN MY OPINION THIS IS A SERIOUS DESIGN FLAW. IF THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT IS ILLUMINATED AND YOU HAVE AN ACCIDENT BEFORE THE PROBLEM IS CORRECTED THIS COULD RESULT IN MAJOR INJURIES. ALSO, A CONNECTOR TERMINATION PROBLEM IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND SHOULD BE CORRECTED BY THE DEALER, ESPECIALLY IN A CRITICAL SAFETY SYSTEM SUCH AS THE AIRBAG SYSTEM.
