The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power. The message "Engine Power Reduced" was displayed. After waiting 20 minutes, the contact was able to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was diagnosed by the contact's friend, and it was determined that the clock spring had failed and needed to be replaced; however, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V614000 (Electrical System), but the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 195,000.

Vehicle constantly has p1682 code and will turn off while driving. Also may just go into low power mode, turn off traction control and have stabile track service needed lights. Vehicle may shake violently as well. If code is reset the car can be driven again until the cycle reappears. Things already changed include ignition switch, ECM, o2 sensors, purge valve, mass air flow sensor.

My car has been having a problem with traction control/service stabilitrak and losing power to the engine since I purchased it. The problem was only occasionally, now it does it EVERYTIME I drive. First it pops up with traction control off message, once that happens it starts to lose power to the engine making the car(heavy car) shudder so bad I cannot drive. The transmission lags on acceleration and it also pops up with "service stabilitrak", "Power loss to engine "And the car will not move until I can pull over and turn it off. Very scary. I have 4 kids and its losing power while Im driving on the highway. Ive replaced sensors, Cleaned the throttle body and also changed spark plugs and changed fuses. It's very dangerous and I found out this is VERY common , especially for my year.

The vehicle stalls while driving at any speed. It has left me on the highway or the middle of an intersection with myself & my kids in danger. The check engine light comes on before the vehicle shuts off completely & loses power & steering. The traction control & stability warning also come on. The vehicle has rolled backwards while in park numerous times so I have to use the parking brake on a regular basis as a safety precaution. The power steering is also an issue. The driver seat belt & air bags make this car a rolling death TRAP. There are past recalls or safety concerns for the traverse that are the exact same issue that I’m having but they are not specific to my vin number so the dealership refuses to address them! Is 7 recalls & they all apply to this vehicle! I’ve attempted to have the vehicle repaired multiple times & they have failed & the same problem returns. I just want my vehicle to be safe & not put myself or my family in danger of being injured or killed.

Multiple issues have occurred with this vehicle. I have had major unsafe issues while driving while on the freeway and streets where my vehicle reads traction control off and engine power reduced which leads my vehicle to lose all power and shut down being stranded and almost hit multiple times while by myself and while my husband and children are present. I believe I am the second or third owner of this vehicle and I was never given any information about any recalls

The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated while driving 35-40 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The message "Power Reduction" was displayed, and the check engine and traction control warning lights were illuminated. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road. The contact stated that the vehicle was able to restart; however, upon attempting to drive, the vehicle shuddered, and the failure recurred. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The contact scanned the vehicle with a vehicle scanner and retrieved DTC: P1682; which indicated an Emission Switch Circuit Fault. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 97,000.

I have a 2014 Chevy traverse I got December 2024. Up until 4/16/2025 I noticed a little cutting in and out of the radio and of course took it as the connection being back but yesterday after working I notice my radio isn’t giving out sound , my blinkers not giving sound and neither is my back up camera or seatbelt notifier. I’ve seen a ton of forums online where people are complaint of this same problem so I’m sure since 2014 this issue has been brought up. The question is what is Chevy going to do about it. This fix could be costly. I did get my fuses checked and nothing is bad in that area. What will Chevy recommend me to do?

I was driving along the highway way at 60-65 mph when suddenly service traction control came on and vehicle started jerking and slowing down. As I tried to accelerate it continued to jerk and then just shut off completely. I hit the guard rail/ jersey wall on the drivers side because I had no control of the vehicle due to the vehicle shutting down. Upon taking it to the dealer after getting it home they stated it could be the junction box which is a known issue but they don’t see anything wrong with it and can’t duplicate the problem. I’ve contacted various mechanics and get that it’s an electrical issue that Chevrolet is aware of but refuses to place a recall for it. I could have gotten seriously injured if not killed by this problem and safety issue.

This has happened three times . First time i was driving my vehicle on the street and randomly turned off . The second time this happened i was driving on the freeway at 66 mph & it randomly turned off and the speed was reduced on seconds. This incident was very dangerous to the point were i almost got hit with my family in the vehicle I needed a tow truck to take me home and it was super risky and dangerous because other vehicles were passing about 2 ft away from us and at a high speed. Third time this happened i almost got hit again due to the random shut off and loss of velocity and this time it was a very small gap and space i had and cars kept honking and cars were passing at a one ft distance . once the lights turn on , on the dash board when it's barely a warning and recently pop up the vehicle automatically randomly turns off . the lights i get on the dashboard are stability track , traction control off , engine power is reduced , service stabilitrak, and check engine light . Has not been inspected .

The message "Engine Power Reduced" was displayed. The contact pulled to the side of the road and allowed the vehicle to cool down. The contact stated that as he resumed driving, the failure recurred several times. The contact replaced the brake position sensor; however, the failure recurred while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the steering angle position sensor and the BCM were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V614000(Electrical System); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 170,000.

My car started lagging while driving and the power was low. And vehicle started shaking. Traction Tire keeps automatically shutting off and through investigation I found it was from TCM or EMC. But when looking at fuse box all fuses look burnt. I noticed there were other recalls on this year of vehicle that could possibly match up with my issue however my specific vehicle only has one incomplete recall. I’d like to know there were any other recalls that were “fixed” I’m not the first owner of this vehicle. I want to know what else I can do before going and buying a part. Electrical is not included in my warranty.

While driving my car, the instrument panel just went blank. My gages all read 0. No speedometer, no battery voltage, no fuel level. The driver information center also shut off. Blinkers would not work, door lock/unlock button did not work after stopping the car. The engine never felt like it lost power and my car would still drive but I could not signal or see how fast I was going.

While driving, check engine light went on, stabilitrack and traction control went off (information from Driver Information Center) and power was reduced. This occurred several times a week and vehicle slowed down dramatically and had to be driven slowly from the roadway. This was a dangerous situation. After safely stopping, I was able to resume travel after turning off engine and restarting, although check engine light would remain on for several on/off cycles. Engine stored code P1682. This has also happened while at a stop and when the accelerator was pressed, the vehicle would stall (sometimes in middle of intersection).

The front airbags have to be replaced there is no replacement part available. My right left blinkers do not always work If airbags can't be fixed then I want them turned off, I would rather risk injury the old fashion way before airbags then to be harmed by metal

2014 Chevy Traverse - stalls while driving very abruptly. Reduce engine power and service stablitrak comes on. Then traction control warning lights flash. Very very dangerous. Happen while driving car begins to shake violently and recently stalled in middle of busy intersection. No way this should not be recalled it's definitely a known issue. Unable to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic however, the mechanic was unable to provide a cause for the failure. Towed to Chevy Dealership in Lancaster NY - Basil quoted $4k+ for repair to engine control relay and timing chain. If there is recall on this we will keep and get fixed if not will need to pass and look at other vehicles. Everything starts to go after warranty dates are up or after you hit a certain mileage. We have always purchased GM vehicles my father is GM retiree. Please help.

Driver side window stopped working , then passenger window is glitchy, driver side door buttons are not working along with windshield wipers. Replaced battery and did testing to make sure power was getting to components . No check engine lights , no codes or warning issues.

The vehicle has a brake light over the hatch but no bottom brake lights. Replaced bulbs and fuses and brake light switch and still no brake lights. Took it to a shop and they don't know what's wrong. After getting gas I crunk car, put it in drive and car started going in reverse and front air wouldn't work either but back air did. It seems to be an electrical issue. Just got vehicle in June of 2023. The brake light issue needs attention immediately very dangerous. I've been behind an Acadia and an Equinox and noticed they don't have bottom brake lights either. The spare tire is also too low and squeaky when operating vehicle and can fall of while driving. Please fix these issues it's very dangerous and very upsetting.

All the dash lights go out. Very dangerous especially at night. sometimes turning on another electrical device will restore, sometimes shutting vehicle down and restarting will help. have tried covering/ cleaning light sensor, no help. just have to wait until it decides to work. started about 6 years ago. getting progressively worse. no warning lights. had independent mechanic check it, he says problem with instrument cluster. hard to tell as it was working when he looked at it. The display on the speedometer is barely visible. It is called the Driver Information Center, but is attached to the speedometer. I am not able to see any information on it most of the time, particularly the day. The safety issue is I can not tell if my tires are to pressure, if my oil needs to be changed. I can not see the odometer. I have seen many people online have this issue. Someone's fix that seems to have worked for a few people is replacing the speedometer, which would be fine but then you have to get it reprogrammed by the dealer. Which is even more money for something that is essential to work in a car.

I had to replace the two Modules under the rear bumper one on each side. It was warning me service side detection system on my dash. I took it to parsons Chevrolet in Antigo and they told me this is so common on the traverses they swell up and they make the whole car not run. I had to have it towed to the dealership and spend over $1000 to get it repaired. I was wondering about compensation for this. I’m just shocked if it’s happening to all these vehicles how can there not be a recall issued for a large amount of these happening. Please let me know thank you.

Traction control said off light on. Car shut down power failure. Car shaking as it stopped in traffic almost causing an accident. Barely made off road. I have seen other multiple complaints and no way to fix this problem. It is a death sentence on the highway. With no other transportation for me.

This occurred several times over a period of two to three weeks and vehicle slowed down dramatically and had to be driven slowly from the roadway. This was a dangerous situation and luckily it never happened at highway speeds in one of the left lanes of traffic. After safely stopping, I was able to resume travel after turning off engine and restarting, although check engine light would remain on for several on/off cycles. Engine stored code P1682. Brought to dealer service and they repaired per TSB #19-NA-276 related to issues in fuse box. Repair was $406.48. This is a known issue with manufacturer. Also, many owners have mentioned this safety issue on Internet forums and YouTube videos.

Airbags light turns off & on. Then my vehicle will reset itself while driving. All gauges & lights turn off in vehicle & I have to pull over, turn the car on & off for it to work. Vehicle airbag will also make a popping sound when airbag light turns on & off. Vehicle turns off while driving & fuel light will say full then drop to empty. Power steering will go out & turn back on randomly.

Side blind zone detection system reported service required in the driver information center. Upon further investigation drivers side model PN 22844861 was swollen with corrosion. This eventually led to other issues on the vehicle including the turn signals dash information and air bag warning and remote key fob not working. GM issued service bulletin 16-NA-178 for repair. I initiated a case number with GM 9-7646907751. I also found GM N172097060 special coverage for the same issue for the 2013-2014 GMC Acadia, which uses the same system as the 2014 Chevrolet Traverse. I would like to get this resolved by GM and I’m unsure why they do not include the Chevrolet Traverse and the Buick Enclave for this special coverage for Side Blind Zone Alert Module Water Intrusion.

The fuse block/box has been identified, as the problem by the manufacturer and reported to the dealer service centers. There have been numerous complaints filed on the 2014 Chevrolet Traverse fuse block. Service techs were instructed (years ago) to look at the fuse block when the following problems were reported by the owner. If they knew to instruct their techs to look at the fuse block/box, then they knew it was defective - it should have been recalled/replaced at that time. Since it wasn't, there have been ongoing safety risk to many vehicle owners and passengers. It has also required owners to pay hundreds of dollars to repair/replace the known defective part; I just paid $965.00. While driving at any speed, the car will begin shaking/jerking; dashboard messages begin: Engine Power is Reduced, Traction Control Off, Service Stabilitrak, along with the Service Engine light. In the city, before you can move over out of traffic, the engine stalls/stops. You are in the middle of the street with no engine power, no steering, and no brakes. This is very dangerous and can immediately result in an accident...to you/the driver, or cause an accident further behind, when the other drivers can't see that traffic has stopped. Even with flashers on, it may take several attempts to get the vehicle started again. The same situation occurred last year traveling down a highway at a speed of 70 mph, while we (myself and spouse) were able to pull off the road, had the car not started again - we would have had a towing bill back to the dealership service center. We were not told about the fuse block/box (known) problem at that time. I am truly shocked, very disappointed and angry to learn (on my own) that the safety of my granddaughter (from birth) has been a risk every time we traveled in my vehicle. She and I travel alone, sometimes up to 3/4 hrs. away to see family, and could have been in an accident or stranded on the side of a highway, or street, many times.

The electrical system malfunctioned. My car is available upon request for inspection. The lives of myself and my children was at risk. I have not taken my car to a dealer to be inspected, I shouldn’t have to pay the dealer over $100 just to inspect my vehicle for a manufacturer’s defect, especially because there is/was a recall for this exact issue. Recall #14515. I have video of my car doing exactly what is stated in the recall on a different day than the first incident. I was driving on the highway with my 3 children and all of a sudden the lights on my dashboard start lighting up the warning bell starts ringing and the dash displays the messages, “ engine power is reduced, service traction control, service stabilitrack, traction control off.” When this happened my car suddenly slowed down on its own and then ultimately just turned off. I was on the highway so traveling about 70mph. There was a LOT of traffic, we were very lucky that I had a few seconds to pull onto the shoulder when the messages started appearing on the dash before the car turned off I was not at a complete stop when the car shut off and couldn’t steer at all. We could have been hit by a car traveling at a high rate of speed. This same issue has occurred several times since the first incident, I am scared to even put my children into this vehicle. It’s so unfortunate that the manufacturing company is aware of this issue and has only chosen a select number of vehicles to include in the recall.

There is a problem with the stabilitrak system that causes the vehicle to shut off while driving. This turns off the traction control and reduces power to 3 cylinders, thus causing the vehicle to go into limp mode and can cause an accident. This problem is intermittent and the dealers can't seem to find the underlying issue. It will happen whole parked, stopped at an intersection or driving at highway speeds. I have had this happen while driving in heavy traffic on the freeway and in the number one lane. My vehicle lost power and I had to try and negotiate three traffic lanes to stop along side the freeway. I had to put the transmission in park and shut the engine off for 15 seconds in order to clear the code and safely proceed back into traffic. The check engine light remains on for a period of time, but will clear itself. This is unsafe and needs to be address by GM as it is happening to multiple model types in GM vehicle lineup.

One day as I was driving on the freeway, the vehicle's engine light/airbag light came on and the vehicle then went into "engine power reduced mode" I was lucky to be close to a turn-off. I was able to get the vehicle off the road safely. I turned off the vehicle and check it. Then turned the vehicle back on and all lights were off. It was shocking, the car was driving normally. I did not think twice and took it to the dealership. They told us it was just the battery and airbag sensor. Thankful they changed it, no cost to us. But later this happened again, this time it was the "engine light and traction control off". We have no idea what it is. Because we have taken the vehicle to a mechanic to get checked, but they can't seem to find anything wrong with it. This happens several times. Can I have some answers or help to stop this from happening. At this point this vehicle to very dangerous to drive.

Replaced alternator 1 yr ago when my battery suddenly died. Fast forward to now it seems that the new alternator is failing in some capacity because of an improper design. The volt meter would drop below 14 while driving and have seen other reports from other Traverse owners with the same issue. Please issue a recall.

THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES. Dealership is unsure what exactly is the issue with the vehicle. While driving the vehicle out of nowhere the engine stalls and the 'engine power is reduced', 'service traction control', 'service stability track' and 'service air bag' messages illuminate across the dash. While these messages display there is no acceleration to the vehicle. This makes it very dangerous to drive.

THE VIN OF MY CAR SHOULD BE PART OF THE GROUP OF AIR BAG RECALL. THE AIR BAG SYMBOL IS ACTIVATING IN THE VEHICLE DASH BOARD, AND IT IS OF A GREAT CONCERN THAT IT GOT OVERSEEN. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIME RECENTLY WHILE IN TRAFFIC AS WELL AS ON THE HIGHWAY. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY WHEN ON THE HIGHWAY DOING 65 MPH. IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING FREQUENTLY WITH THE LATEST OCCURRENCE 01/20/2021. ONCE THE TRUCK SITS FOR APPROXIMATELY 20 TO 30 MINUTES THE VEHICLE WILL START AND RUN. SOMETIMES THE ISSUE WILL HAPPEN AGAIN WHILE DRIVING, SOMETIMES IT WILL NOT. TYPICALLY ONCE THE VEHICLE SITS OVERNIGHT THE ENGINE LIGHT WILL GO OFF BY ITSELF. I FEAR FOR THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AS WE HAVE ALMOST BEEN INVOLVED IN A COUPLE ACCIDENTS DUE TO THIS ISSUE.

A MESSAGE WILL APPEAR ON THE DISPLAY: SERVICE STABILITRACK, TRACTION CONTROL TURNED OFF. A SECONDARY MESSAGE WILL DISPLAY AS REDUCING ENGINE POWER AND THEN THE TRUCK WILL STALL. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHILE IN TRAFFIC OR DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY IN NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. IT HAS BEEN OCCURRING MORE FREQUENTLY. ONCE THE VEHICLE SITS FOR 20 TO 30 MINUTES IT WILL USUALLY START BACK UP. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINS ON. ONCE THE VEHICLE IS PARKED OVERNIGHT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT USUALLY GOES OFF. I HAVE SEEN THAT THIS IS A COMMON COMPLAINT WITH THIS VEHICLE. I FEAR FOR THE SAFETY OF MYSELF AND MY FAMILY AS THIS CAN HAPPEN AT ANY TIME. WE HAVE ALMOST BEEN REAR ENDED BY A TRACTOR TRAILER DOING 65 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO COAST THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHERE IT HAD TO BE TOWED. WHILE DRIVING MY TRAVERSE IT STALLED GOING 50 MPH. AFTER RESTARTING THE VEHICLE THE ENGINE WAS AT LOW POWER AND WOULD ONLY GO 20 MILES PER HOUR. THE DASH READ LOW ENGINE POWER, STABILITRAK AND TRACTION CONTROL ISSUES. DROVE THE VEHICLE AT 20 MPH IN A 55 MPH ZONE FOR ABOUT 5 MILES WITH THE FLASHERS ON. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO TODD WENZEL IN DAVISON MICHIGAN. UPON RESTARTING TO GO TO THE DEALERSHIP THE VEHICLE DROVE AS NORMAL WITH THE ENGINE LIGHT ON. THE DEALERSHIP CODED IT.( SEE ATTACHED) WE DID DO THE WORK THE DEALERSHIP RECOMMENDED. THIS WAS THE FOURTH TIME WE HAVE HAD SIMILAR ISSUES. THE PAST THREE TIMES JUST THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WITH NO STALLING OR SPEED ISSUES AND THE CODE WAS IGNITION SWITCH FUSE. WE HAD THE FUSE REPLACED EACH TIME. ALL WITHIN 8-9 MONTHS. ENGINE ISSUES CAME UP AS POSSIBLE RECALL BUT NOT WITH MY VIN #.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JIM ELLIS CHEVROLET, 5900 PEACHTREE BLVD, ATLANTA, GA 30341, (770) 457-8211, TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS MOISTURE IN THE FUSE BOX WHICH CAUSED AN ELECTRICAL SHORT. THE DRIVER WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUSE BOX NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V614000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

I HAVE BEEN DRIVING AND MY DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT WILL RANDOMLY SHUT OFF AND SOMETIMES COME BACK ON. FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE KEEPS DEFLATING WITH FOR NO REASON THERE IS NOTHING IN THE TIRE TO MAKE A HOLE BUT THE TIRE KEEPS LOSING PRESSURE. FOR THE TIRE IT IS ANYTIME IF THE CAR IS MOVING OR IF IT IS STOPPED. THE HEADLIGHT WILL TURN OFF AND ON IF I HIT ANY BUMPS, HIT THE HEADLIGHT COVER BY HAND, AND SOMETIMES IT WILL TURN OFF AND ON WITHOUT ANY BUMPS AT ALL. THIS PROBLEM IS WELL DOCUMENTED BY HUNDREDS OF CONSUMERS WHO ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME THING. I FIND IT EXTREMELY HARD TO BELIEVE THAT GM HAS NOT BEEN MADE TO MAKE THIS RIGHT VIA FULL FLEDGED RECALL--NOT JUST CERTAIN VEHICLES. THIS IS DANGEROUS!! I DECIDED IT MUST BE A COMPUTER ERROR AND PROCEEDED TO FILL MY OTHER TIRES AND VACUUM MY CAR. I PULLED OFF AND SOMETHING TOLD ME TO ASK THE GENTLEMAN GETTING GAS IF MY FRONT RIGHT TIRE LOOKED FLAT, HE SAID, 'NO, IT'S YOUR BACK RIGHT TIRE, I CAN HEAR THE AIR ESCAPING' SURE ENOUGH I COULD HEAR IT TO, AND COULD SEE A LARGE CRACK IN THE TIRE. THE CAR HAS STARTED TO DO A SHIMMY AND THEN THE CAR COMPLETELY TURNS OFF AND WON'T START AGAIN. THERE IS ALWAYS GAS IN THE CAR, AND THE OIL IS CHANGED REGULARLY. THE CAR HAS BEEN TAKEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS A SMALL ELECTRICAL CONNECTION BOX UNDER THE GAS TANK THAT WAS FILLED WITH DIRT AND GETTING POOR CONTACT. THE SMALL BOX WAS CLEANED OUT AND ELECTRIC CONDUCTIVE GEL WAS USED. THE CAR DIDN'T HAVE A PROBLEM FOR ABOUT 9 DAYS AND THEN IT STARTED TO DO THE SAME THING AS BEFORE. IT HAS TURNED OFF MOSTLY WHEN THE VEHICLE IS MOVING. THE LATEST TIME THIS HAPPENED WAS 11/6/2018

CHECKED BATTERY BUT SEEMS TO BE OK, CHECKED FUSE BOX AND THE ENTIRE FUSE BOX IS LOOSE, THE HOLD DOWN SCREWS IN THE FUSE BOX APPEAR TO BE STRIPPED AND WILL NOT TIGHTEN, SHIMMED THE BOX TO THE FRAME TO PREVENT IT FROM SHAKING AROUND IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. CAR WAS PURCHASED FROM LAKESIDE CHEVROLET IN ROCKWALL, TX AS A CERTIFIED USED CAR, IT HAS BEEN BACK TO THE DEALER FOR THE SERVICE AIRBAG ISSUE BUT THEY DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. HAS BEEN HAPPENING EVERY SINCE WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. KEEP LOOKING FOR RECALLS BUT NOTHING YET. THERE ARE CONSIDERABLE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM OR SIMILAR PROBLEMS. IN CONCLUSION, A SERIES OF PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR WHICH ARE NOT REAL. I HAVE SEARCHED ONLINE AND THERE ARE THOUSANDS TO CLAIMS DUE TO THIS SAME PROBLEM I AM HAVING. TURN TRUCK OFF AND RESTARTS FINE. BOTH INCIDENTS WITHIN A MONTH OF BUYING VEHICLE USED. TOOK VEHICLE TO CARMAX, OXNARD, CA, 93036 WHERE WE HAVE EXTENDED WARRANTY. I RECEIVED AN ALERT THAT SOME 2014 CHEVROLET TRAVERSES HAD A RECALL THAT REQUIRED A COMPUTER UPDATE; HOWEVER, RESEARCHING MY VIN # SHOWS NO RECALL. I HAVE EXPERIENCED SEVERAL ELECTRICAL TYPE ISSUES THAT WAS EXPLAINED TO ME THAT THE COMPUTER SYSTEM IS LOSING CONTACT WITH SEVERAL MODULATORS. SO FAR IT HAS BEEN MY POWER TRAIN MODULATOR, FUEL PUMP MODULATOR AND MY ON-STAR MODULATOR. I STRONGLY FEEL LIKE THIS IS A MANUFACTURE DEFECT AND THAT A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. LAST WEEK WHEN MY CAR WAS PARKED, IT DIED. WHEN I GOT BACK IN, I REALIZED IT HAD DIED, AND TRIED TO START IT. THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING TO FIX AND SAID TO CALL AGAIN IF ANYTHING HAPPENED AGAIN (THEY DID CHARGE THE BATTERY). I WENT AND PICKED IT UP AND DROVE IT 10 MILES. I PARKED AND SHUT IT OFF. WHEN I CAME BACK OUT TO START IT ABOUT 30 MINUTES LATER, THIS TIME THERE WAS AN ERROR ABOUT THE GUIDELINES ON THE CAMERA SYSTEM NOT WORKING AND THE SAME STABILITRAK ERROR. SO I SHUT IT OFF AND STARTED IT BACK UP. IT SEEMED TO BE FUNCTIONAL AFTER RESTARTING IT. IT WAS OKAY FOR A FEW DAYS UNTIL THE MAJOR ERRORS HAPPENED AGAIN THIS MORNING. I WAS TRYING TO PULL INTO A PARKING SPOT AND IT DID THE SAME THING WITH THE SAME ERRORS THAT I FIRST HAD. IT ACTUALLY WENT TO A TOTAL STOP AND WOULD NOT MOVE FORWARD AT ALL. I WAS THANKFUL THAT I WAS IN A PARKING LOT AND NOT ON THE HIGHWAY MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR WITH ME. IT WAS SO SUDDEN, THAT IF WE HAD BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY, I AM SURE I WOULD HAVE BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. THE SERVICE AIRBAG ALERT COMES ON FOR NO REASON, THEN GOES OFF. IT CAME BACK ON AGAIN AND DID NOT GO OFF. I DRIVE SPEEDS OF 30 TO 60 MPH. SINCE WE BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE IT HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT TROUBLE. WE HAVE HAD PROBLEM WITH SEAT BELT, INSTRUMENTAL PANEL (RESET) AND ONE MORE THING THAT WE DO NOT REMEMBER WHAT IT IS. AT THIS TIME WE ARE EXPERIENCING PROBLEM WITH ALL BREAK LIGHTS NOT OPERATIONAL WHICH WAS RECALLED DECEMBER 26, 2014 FOR THE REASON THAT THE CHASSIS ELECTRONIC MODULE MAY BE INTERNALLY CONTAMINATED, RESULTING IN AN ELECTRICAL SHORT..VERY DANGEROUS HOWEVER, I WAS TOLD THAT OUR VEHICLE WAS NOT RECALLED AND YET COULD NOT CONVINCE ME WHY WE ARE HAVING SAME PROBLEM WITH RECALLS. WE HAVE APPOINTMENT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE IN ON TUESDAY, NOV 28,, 2016. WE NEED HELP TO MAKE SURE THAT CHEVY FIXES THIS CAR AT NO COST TO US..IT IS SHAMEFUL THAT A 2YRS OLD AR WILL DEVELOP THESE PROBLEMS WHILE YOUR ARE STILL PAYING CAR NOTE. WE BELIEVE THERE WAS A MISTAKE WHEN RECALLS WERE MADE THAT APPARENTLY MOST CARS THAT WERE SUPPOSED TO BE COVERED WERE MISSED UNLESS WHY SUCH A COINCIDENCE. SLIGHTLY IN MOTION ABOUT 5 MPH AND SOMETIMES AROUND 50 MPH, THE DIC WILL RESET WITHIN A SPLIT SECOND, THE RADIO WILL CUTOFF AND ALL DASHBOARD SIGNS WILL COME ON MOMENTARILY LIKE A RESET. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE STABILITRAC WARNING LIGHT SUDDENLY FLASHED OFF AND ON. THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHUT OFF, CAUSING THE POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES TO STOP FUNCTIONING. AFTER THE INCIDENT, THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT YET DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,000.

WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN OPERATION IN ANY DRIVING CONDITION THE AIRBAG SERVICE INDICATOR WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ON. THIS WAS INTERMITTENT AT FIRST AND THEN STAYED ON AFTER A FEW DAYS. DEALER WILL NOT COVER THIS KEY SAFETY COMPONENT FAILURE. THIS SEEMS TO BE RELATED TO THE LAST RECALL FOR AIRBAG FAILURE ON THE 2009-2013 TRAVERSE MODEL VEHICLES MADE THIS YEAR. THE RECALL FIXES THE YELLOW WIRE HARNESS CONNECTOR FAILURE BY CUTTING IT AWAY AND SPLICING THE WIRES TOGETHER. THERE ARE NOW TECHNICAL BULLETINS OUT FOR THE 2014 TRAVERSES THAT SEEM TO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. *JS

DEALER HAS TOLD ME THAT THE VEHICLE REGISTERS AN ERROR CODE OF B0022. ACCORDING TO THE DEALER, GM TELLS THEM TO CHECK FOUR WIRES ON THE CONNECTORS TO THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WIRING HARNESS THAT CAUSES THE CHECK AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE. SPECIFICALLY, GM TELLS THE DEALER TO SOLDER THE CONNECTIONS ON THE FOUR WIRES ON THE CONNECTOR. THE DEALER HAS ALSO TOLD ME THAT IF THE WARNING LIGHT FOR THE AIR BAG SYSTEM IS ILLUMINATED, NONE OF THE AIRBAGS WILL DEPLOY. IN MY OPINION THIS IS A SERIOUS DESIGN FLAW. IF THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT IS ILLUMINATED AND YOU HAVE AN ACCIDENT BEFORE THE PROBLEM IS CORRECTED THIS COULD RESULT IN MAJOR INJURIES. ALSO, A CONNECTOR TERMINATION PROBLEM IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND SHOULD BE CORRECTED BY THE DEALER, ESPECIALLY IN A CRITICAL SAFETY SYSTEM SUCH AS THE AIRBAG SYSTEM.

WHILE IN MOTION, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SPUTTER, THE DASHBOARD AND RADIO WENT BLANK, THE LOCKS IN THE DOORS WENT UP AND DOWN SEVERAL TIMES. I PRESSED THE BRAKE AND WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE CAR AS I WAS APPROACHING A STOP SIGN. I HAD TO ROLL THROUGH THE STOP SIGN AND NARROWLY MISSED BEING HIT AT THE INTERSECTION. WITHIN A FEW SECONDS, THE VEHICLE REGAINED POWER AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON 2 OTHER OCCASIONS WHERE THE CAR HAS LOST ELECTRICAL POWER FOR SEVERAL SECONDS WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. I ALSO WENT OUT TO MY STATIONARY PARKED CAR AND TRIED TO START IT ONE MORNING. THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY DEAD, LIKE IT HAD A DEAD BATTERY, BUT THE IGNITION WOULD NOT RELEASE MY KEY OR LET ME TURN THE KEY BACK TO THE OFF POSITION. SO I STARTED TO TRY TO GET TO THE BATTERY TO JUMP TH E VEHICLE OFF, BUT BY THE TIME I GOT READY TO DO THIS, I OPENED THE CAR DOOR AND ALL THE LIGHTS CAME BACK ON AND THE CAR STARTED RIGHT UP (BUT WITHOUT A WORKING RADIO THIS TIME). THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS AND DANGEROUS PROBLEM. WE HAVE ONLY HAD THE CAR FOR A FEW MONTHS AND WE HAVE NOW HAD OUR CAR IN A CHEVY DEALERSHIP FOR 15 DAYS AND THEY HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND SO THEY ARE TRYING TO SEND THE VEHICLE HOME WITH US WITHOUT ANY OTHER SOLUTION OTHER THAN TO KEEP DRIVING IT (PUTTING MY FAMILY IN DANGER) AND TRY TO RECORD IT WHEN IT HAPPENS AGAIN (SO I CAN PROVE I'M NOT CRAZY OR JUST MAKING THIS STUFF UP).

WAS DRIVING ON INTERSTATE AT 75 MPH, ABOUT 80 MILES FROM MY DESTINATION, WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON. SWITCHED THE BRIGHT LIGHTS ON AND THE CRUISE CONTROL TURNED OFF, POWER LOCKS STARTED LOCKING AND UNLOCKING REPEATEDLY, HEADLIGHTS STARTED FLASHING ON AND OFF. THE WHOLE DASHBOARD INSTRUMENT LIGHTS TURNED ON (CHECK ENGINE, CHANGE OIL, ABS, BATTERY LIGHT, STABILITRAK ETC) WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO PRESS GAS ACCELERATOR IT WAS LOCKED IN PLACE AND WOULD NOT MOVE, VEHICLE STALLED IN INTERSTATE TRAFFIC WITH MY CHILDREN AND I IN CAR. WAS ABLE TO MERGE ONTO SHOULDER, PLACED VEHICLE IN PARK TURNED IGNITION TO OFF POSITION THEN RESTARTED VEHICLE. WAS ABLE DRIVE REST OFF WAY WITHOUT TURNING ON BRIGHT HEADLIGHTS OR CRUISE CONTROL. WHEN I GOT OFF INTERSTATE ONTO HIGHWAY WITH NO OTHER VEHICLES I PLACED CRUISE CONTROL ON AND FLIPPED ON BRIGHT HEADLIGHTS AND THE VEHICLE DID THE SAME THING (GAS PEDAL, HEADLIGHTS, INSTRUMENT PANEL AND LOCKS) AGAIN PULLED OVER RESTARTED CAR AND CONTINUED DRIVING WITH NO ISSUE ( NO CRUISE OR BRIGHTS USED) I THEN TOOK CAR TO DEALERSHIP NEXT MORNING. THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO REPLICATE SAID OCCURRENCE AFTER 6 DAYS IN SHOP.VEHICLE WAS SENT HOME WITH US WITH NO SOLUTION.WE HAVE HAD VEHICLE NOT QUITE 2 MONTHS.DO NOT FEEL SAFE HAVING MY FAMILY IN IT. COMPLAINT MADE TO MANUFACTURER (CHEVROLET GM) THEY STATED THEY HAD RECEIVED NO SIMILAR COMPLAINTS AND ARE UNABLE TO PROVIDE A FIX. WAS TOLD IF VEHICLE REPEATS OCCURRENCE TO TRY TO VIDEO IT AND RETURN TO SHOP. UNHAPPY WITH THIS SITUATION ALL THE WAY AROUND.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. WHILE EXITING THE HIGHWAY AT 30 MPH, THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM BECAME INOPERABLE AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS MERGED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE AND THAT THE FAULTY LOCK/UNLOCK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,046.

UPON DELIVERY OF VEHICLE HAD NUMEROUS ELECTRICAL ISSUES, RADIO OFF FOR NO REASON, LIGHTS OFF FOR NO REASON. U-HAUL DEALER FOUND THE FUSES IN FUSE BOX WERE FLOATING AND NOT STABLE IN CONNECTORS, WHOLE FUSE BOX WAS THIS WAY. IF YOU RAN YOUR FINGER ACROSS THE FUSES THEY WOULD MOVE, SWAY AND WERE NOT STRONGLY HELD IN THE CONNECTORS. I TOOK TO DEALER SHOWED MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD VEHICLE COULD NOT BE DRIVEN "AS IS" DUE TO FIRE HAZARD. FUSES WERE ALL LOOSE >20. FUSE BOX WAS REPLACED; HOWEVER I STILL EXPERIENCE SHIFTING PROBLEMS, FUEL GAUGE ISSUES, DEALER UNABLE TO RECREATE LOUD THUMP NOISE IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC, DEALER HAS RECODED SHIFT POINTS, SAYS TRANSMISSION "WILL LEARN", THIS FIXES PROBLEM FOR SHORT PERIODS, BUT ONCE AGAIN WHEN VEHICLE IS IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC, VEHICLE HESITATES AND LOUD "BANG" NOISE.PROBLEM MAY BE IN AXLES OR WHEEL WELL, DRIVE SYSTEM.
