Stepped on brake to disengage cruise control. The car accelerated instead of slowing, I turned off cruise and kept stepping on the brake the car kept accelerating. I had to shift to neutral stop the car and shut engine off. When I restarted it was disengaged. This has happened twice now.

A recall was issued May of 2023 regarding potential fatal consequences from air bag deployment. As of today, July 8, 2024, there is still no remedy. I am afraid to drive my vehicle, the dealer will not fix the issue, and I can't sell the vehicle due to the potential danger that may occur.

This recall is a safety recall and GM should but back the vehicles. The airbags are to help with impacts. I am still waiting for them to figure out how to fix this problem.
