It's been a year now I've been waiting for my 2017 Chevy Traverse to replace the "SAFETY RECALL" on driver's air bag inflator to be replace by this Dealership. Their neglecting the safety issue that it may explode during deployment due to a manufacturing defect. They schedule me three times, one last year on my maintenance service and two times last month, ever since I got this "SAFETY RECALL" notification from this Dealership, after I waited at their waiting area for 2 hour, Service will say to me that they have no replacement parts for my vehicle. Why schedule and tell me on text messages that you have the replacement part for my vehicle? You don't value your customers and you don't care about the safety of the driver. I'm not recommending a friend to buy on this Dealership. Lucky a friend of mine ask, went to buy her first Chevy Tracks at Bellevue, WA. I will never buy another Chevy vehicle again from this Dealership. Rude and unprofessional customer service, that's my overall experience.

Received recall notice, called dealer to make appointment for repair service, as the recall notice instructs, regarding airbag inflator and was told that there is "no remedy" at this time so no repair or replacement to airbag would be done at this time. I was told I would receive another notice when a remedy was decided on. I asked why couldn't my airbag be replaced and was told that, that was not the remedy.

There is definitely something going on with the transmission. This car should not be having transmission problems. The car is not old at all! I was told that the transmission is leaking and I don’t understand why in a car that’s only 7 years old! That’s ridiculous! Also, the airbag is still not completed. I don’t want to have an accident and die because of sharp objects coming out! Everything is a hurry up and wait deal! My.car is very unsafe for me to drive. I run a carpool and I don’t want to hurt the kids.

I can't stand having to drive a car with that risk to life any longer. I have to drive with my family inside, there are two small children and I'm scared, and Chevy just tells me that they still don't have the part for the airbag. I've been dealing with this for years and I still don't have an answer. My car's price has dropped a lot because of this problem and Chevy isn't taking responsibility for the problem. I need to know what I can do.

I called the dealership a year ago about this recall. I just found out today that the manufacturer defect cannot even be fixed! I have been waiting a whole year for the part to come in just to be told today that there is NO remedy or fix for this recall. I was told that my airbag inflator in my 2017 Chevy Traverse can explode, even without a crash, due to a manufacturing defect!! Now I am scared to drive my own car with this recall! I do not want to risk putting my family in danger! Help!!

We have contacted the chevrolet dealer which was Knippelmier Chevrolet of Blanchard Oklahoma about the air bag recall and they keep telling us the part to repair the recall is unavailable. This started in July of 2023... At the end of July 2023 the service airbag light was coming on and off and blinking. We have tried to call other dealerships but we get the same answer. We have also stopped driving the car as much as possible. But this is how my wife gets to and from work. This recall has gone long enough without repair for something this serious... Please let us know how to move forward... Thank you..

It’s going on three months and this has not been repair. Notice states failure to correct can cause death. This needs to be repaired now! How can this just be ignored when public safety is first and foremost? Does some one need to die before this recall is being taken care of?

The complaint is GM has yet to provide parts for a recall issued in May 2023. It is August 2024. Anyone that drives our 2017 Traverse will/may put their life in real danger if there is an accident where the driver side air bag sends shrapnel out. There doesn't seem to be any urgency on GM's part to provide remedy. GM's recall statement says to REPLACE THE AIRBAG. So far, we have had zero incidents that would cause the airbag to inflate. Ticking time bomb

We have been given repeated notices and warnings since May 2013 that the airbags in this vehicle have been recalled and need to be replaced, but each time we check we are told that their is "no remedy available." So far, we have not had an incident related to these, but more warnings roll in without any available resolution along with notices that this vehicle, along with others, are most at risk during the hot and humid summer months.

My intent is to file a complaint. I received a notification about a recall that was issued May 10, 2023 related to the driver's side airbag inflator that will may "rupture and cause metal fragments to pass through the airbag and into the vehicle interior, which may result in injury or death to vehicle occupants." I have contacted the dealership that sold the vehicle to me ten times in the past year, and their response has continually been that the parts are not available at this time. Today I was told that GM does not have a remedy to fix this problem. I contacted GM and was told that a part has been developed to solve the problem but manufacturing is slow and I will be notified when a part for my vehicle is available. I asked to have the airbag turned off until the part is available. I was told that GM dealers are prohibited from turning off safety items like airbags. i wanted to mitigate the possibility of metal fragments impaling me or another passenger. My complaint is that GM has known about this dangerous, defective part for over a year and there is no solution. I shouldn't have to ride in a vehicle with these safety concerns for this long. Please persuade them to hurry this process up while me and my family continue to need this vehicle to transport us safely to work and events. Our 2017 Chevy Traverse was recalled over a year ago due to a known issue with the airbag which has shot pieces of metal killing drivers and passengers. A year later we are still left without a resolution for our vehicle. Several attempts to work with the company has proved unsuccessful. The vehicle has now been out of service 365 days which is beyond the acceptable time period for resolving this type of safety issue. A reasonable resolution would be a repair, buy-back, loaner vehicle, or replacement.
It has been a year since this GM Recall N232404980 has been issued and nothing has been done to repair it. This equipment problem poses a risk to the lives of me and my family.

driver's air bag module - An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants, resulting in serious injury or death. The vehicle has been acknowledged by Chevrolet to be one of the vehicles affected by the recall, but they do not have any replacements and they do not know if or when any replacements will be available.
Recall on driver side airbag still without a remedy at this time. I would like to get this taken care of asap if I could. Thank you.
The recall on the air bags in my car have yet to be fixed. I received the recall notice over a year ago, contacted my dealership and still have no remedy for this. This is my only vehicle and I have had to drive it everyday, with my children in the vehicle, worrying if the airbags are gonna fail and we get hurt or worse. I just want it fixed and not continue to wait for "their faulty product" to not be as concerning for them to fix because I dont live in the southern states. It's been a year!

I’m pregnant and am not even able to trade my vehicle in for a bigger one because of this recall. I’ve been trying to get it fixed for a year. DO SOMETHING !!!!!!!!
This recall is a safety recall and GM should but back the vehicles. The airbags are to help with impacts. I am still waiting for them to figure out how to fix this problem.
Reported to Chevy. They continued to tell me over and over sorry. If you get into an accident there is a remedy but as of now there is not. No dealer can help you. No rental. No money back. They told me to trade it in. You clearly have it stated in other documents it’s illegal for sale or trade. So what the heck am I supposed to do. The air bag light comes on off and on. I have video to prove it.

Received recall notice and have been waiting ever since for GM to actually follow through with the recall. They don’t seem to care and I have two vehicles that falls under the recall. How the government hasn’t stepped up knowing that this issue can cause death is beyond me. What’s the point of a national recall if the manufacture isn’t forced to do something about the recall? No more GM products in my future.
This safety complaint is in reference to defective air bags that were recalled in May 2023 and a solution from Chevrolet has not been initiated 8 months later. This defect can cause serious injury or death so not sure how to proceed from here.

I received a recall notice #N232404980 in June 2023 and after months of hearing from no one, I reached out to my dealership who said they had no parts to replace/repair this recall. After checking with GM today 1/17/24 they still do not have pats to repair this. This is 8 months since this recall was announced and I would think that is sufficient time to get parts to fix this. When you send someone a notice to tell them their car has a defect which has the potential to "result in injury or death to vehicle occupants" I should think they would beworking a little faster to get these parts. I am extremely unhappy with the way GM has handled this and feel like someone needs to get involved to get this resolved.
We have a 2017 Chevy Traverse that is included in the airbag recall that as of 1/4/24 does not have a remedy. We have children and if you look at the safety risk associated with this it is serious injury or death. We would like to trade our vehicle in for a safer car but the value is greatly depreciated because of this safety recall with no remedy.
I RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE 6 MONTHS AGO AND THEY HAVE NOT FIXED THIS DANGEROUS SITUATION. THE DEALERS SAY THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE AND THE GM WEBSITE SAYS THIS SITUATION IS "UNRESOLVED". I FEEL UNSAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE.

Contacted, by phone, Uftring Chevrolet, located in Washington, Illinois, to request air bag to be fixed due to recall issued by General Motors (Manufacturer Recall NumberN232404980 NHTSA Recall Number23V334) on May 18, 2023 and again on September 28, 2023. I was told that GM has not offered a remedy for the recall. Dealership did not replace the air bag after two requests to do so. According to the recall's own information, "Safety Risk-An inflator rupture may cause metal fragments to pass through the airbag and into the vehicle interior, which may result in injury or death to vehicle occupants. Remedy-Dealers will replace the front-driver airbag module." Dealership notified me through their phone system that all calls are recorded documenting my two requests to fix my Chevrolet Traverse.

I have been waiting for nearly 5 months for there to be a remedy available for NHTSA campaign #23V334. I called the local Chevrolet Dealership in Champaign, Illinois and they were unable to assist me. I also called Chevrolet customer service to try and get an estimated time frame as to when a remedy will be available. However, they were unable to assist either, and could not provide me with an estimated time frame for repairs. My 2017 Chevrolet Traverse is a family vehicle. I do not feel safe using this vehicle for my family’s transportation needs when the same airbag has resulted in fatalities/injuries in the US. The manufacturer is taking too long to devise a solution for this safety issue. I am hoping there may be a solution with a third party to manufacture a safe and reliable airbag.
For the already known air bag recall for my vehicle, I have called GM and clearly stated how uncomfortable and unsafe I feel driving my vehicle with such a dangerous malfunction that is meant to save my life, not take it. They told me there was no way they could help, but for me to be patient. I live in a bumpy and windy area, and from other reports, I know can set off the airbags. As for the automatic braking system, we were driving on the freeway with no vehicles or objects in front or even beside us when the system kicked in with the red light and alarm sound while braking immediately and even had my steering wheel lock up. I was able to regain control a minute later, but we were close to a curve in the road that I may have not been able to turn with my steering wheel locked up, as well as a vehicle behind me having to hit their own brakes and quickly change lanes due to our vehicle suddenly braking. I have been to a dealership for diagnosing but they told me they could find nothing out of ordinary. Given I did not trust these mechanics as they have lied before to get money from us and have missed other problems that were easily diagnosed at another mechanic we have seen. Our small town only has few choices of mechanics or dealerships.

There is an open recall with no available fix. I don’t feel safe driving this car without the fix. We basically have to purchase a new car with less trade in value as it os unethical to sell or pay for a loaner. I called GM & they referred to the dealership. 2 different dealerships including dealership of purchase say there is nothing they can do as there is no fix. Please help.

I am extremely uncomfortable continuing to drive my vehicle knowing there is a recall on the airbag that may cause extreme harm to passengers and there is no solution. I cannot drive my vehicle knowing the safety features that I assumed are in place are lacking. I am uncomfortable with GMs lack of solution at this point. What are my options?

Spouse is scared to death to drive this vehicle because of the death possibility. Deal can not do repairs without parts. GM doesn't have the replacement parts. Dealer will not issue a loan car during the waiting for part process. No one can tell me an approximate repair date. So i have a time bomb air bag sitting in my garage not being driven. What's my options?
There is a recall for our this vehicle that was initiated in May because our airbag inflator may explode causing death or serious injury. We have yet to be provided with a fix, and have been denied a loaner vehicle because the dealerships don't want to part with their limited # of loaners for an undetermined amount of time. We are being told to continue driving around ourselves and our young children and one dealership told us "you probably wouldn't die". This is alarming that they are not providing an immediate fix, even at greater cost to the company, and are rolling the dice on safety.

I received notification back on May 10th of a Takata Airbag recall for my car via email from Carfax and GM. I have filed a complaint on www.carcomplaints.com, NHTSA, and have contacted the dealership that I purchased the vehicle from 3 different times. I have also contacted GM customer service and voiced my concern for a safety issue not having a remedy and we are already a month and a half into the recall. I was informed from GM customer service that if "I haven't heard anything within a couple of months, to call back." I also asked if it was possible to get a rental car until a remedy can become available. I was informed they would escalate that request and if I haven't heard anything back in a week, to call them back. That was yesterday, June 23rd, 2023. This recall has been confirmed for my vehicle by the dealership and by GM customer service.

Unknown- I received an email from carfax alerting me there was a takata airbag recall on my car. When I called the dealership to get more information, they said at that time, there was no resolution but should have one May 24th. Today is 05/27/2023 and there is still currently no resolution. There have already been deaths and injuries resulting from this airbag issue for other makes and models. I don't feel safe knowing there could be an issue with the airbags. I am wondering how soon before there is a resolution and can rental cars be covered under warranty until repairs are made?
1) Airbag Sensor went bad. 2) My safety and my family's safety is put at risk every day because the sensor went bad and now it turned my airbags off. 3) Yes I took my car on 9/17/21to a Chevy Dealer that confirmed the airbag sensor is bad they said its code B008. 4) It was inspected by a Chevy Dealer ship. 5) Yes and I took it to the Chevy Dealer ship to look at it who confirmed the problem.

THE AIR BAG LIGHT STAYS ON & CONTINUALLY BEEPS. THE MANUAL SAYS THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE AIRBAG SYSTEM. ALTHOUGH I SEE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS THERE'S NO RECALLS . I GUESS CHEVROLET IS WAITING FOR A FATALITY BEFORE THEY REACT TO THIS PROBLEM. THIS HAPPEN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION & STATIONARY.

TAKATA RECALL - I TOOK MY CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE MY AIRBAG WARNING SENSORS LIT UP ON MY DASHBOARD. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THE ENTIRE PASSENGER SEAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT ABOUT $1100, AND IT WAS MY RESPONSIBILITY AS THERE WAS NO RECALL ON IT. THE VEHICLE IS ONLY 1.5 YEARS OLD AND HAS NEVER HAD ANY ACCIDENTS/AIRBAG ISSUES.
CHECK AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON BRIEFLY. DEALER SAID THEY COULDN'T FIND A CODE IN THE SYSTEM SHOWING THAT IT HAD COME ONE. THEN AS I'M DRIVING WITH MY KIDS IN THE CAR, THE TRACTION LIGHT COMES ON RANDOMLY, IT STARTS WANTING TO TURN OFF ON ITSELF. MIND YOU I'M ON A VERY BUSY STREET WITH MORONS GOING OVER 60 MPH BEHIND ME. IT COULD HAVE BEEN A MAJOR ACCIDENT! I WENT TO ADVANCE AUTO CAUSE I THOUGHT MAYBE IT WAS MY BATTERY, EVEN THOUGH ITS A BRAND NEW CAR. NO. IT WASN'T THEY TESTED IT AND EVERYTHING. SO I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY TOOK IT IN FOR A DAY TO THEN TELL ME THAT IT IS SHOWING BATTERY CODES. I HAD JUST CHECKED THE BATTERY THE DAY BEFORE! SO I KNEW IT WASN'T THAT, BUT THEY WOULDN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. SO TO PLAY IT SAFE, I BOUGHT A NEW BATTERY. I HAD THE PLACE I BOUGHT THE NEW ONE FROM TEST MY OLD BATTERY AND BIG SHOCKER THE TEST CAME BACK AS A GOOD BATTERY. SO I SPENT THE MONEY FOR A UNNECESSARY BATTERY. A MONTH GOES BY AND NOTHING HAPPENS. THEN ABOUT 2-3 WEEKS AGO MY SCREEN STARTS COMPLAINING ABOUT "DISK ERROR" THE DVD SYSTEM ISN'T EVEN ON, AND I'M NOT PLAYING MUSIC ON IT EITHER SO IT SHOULDN'T BE SHOWING ME "DISK ERROR" EVEN IF THERE WAS A DISK IN IT. THE [XXX] THING WAS OFF! AND YESTERDAY MY HUSBAND GOES TO DRIVE THE CAR AND IT STARTS ACTING CRAZY AGAIN WANTING TO TURN OFF ON ITSELF. SO I'M DONE. IT'S A HAZARD TO MY FAMILY TO OWN THIS CAR. ALSO, I HEARD FROM AN ACQUAINTANCE THAT OWNS THE SAME CAR BUT AN OLDER MODEL THAT THIS WAS HAPPENING TO HER VEHICLE TOO, AND THAT IT WAS COVERED UNDER A RECALL BUT BECAUSE OURS IS NEWER IT ISN'T COVERED. SO WE GOT SCREWED WITH THIS VEHICLE. THANKS GM. MY VEHICLE WHETHER STATIONARY OR IN MOTION ROUTINELY DOES NOT CHIME FOR A PASSANGER OR DRIVER WITHOUT A SEATBELT. THE LIGHT DOES COME ON BUT IT WILL ONLY CHIME 10% OF THE TIME. I AM NOT HAVING ISSUES WITH IT CHIMING WHEN THERE IS NOT A PERSON IS IN THE SEAT. I AM CONCERNED THIS IS A LIFE SAFETY ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE SINCE IF I AM DRIVING AND MY PASSANGER TAKES OFF THERE SEATBELT IT DOES NOT ALERT ME WITH SOUNDS. IT ALSO DOES NOT ALERT ME WOTH SOUND IF I MYSELF FORGET TO APPLY MY SEATBELT. I HAVE CALLED AND SPOKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND TAKEN MY VEHICLE IN MULTIPLE TIMES. ONE OF THE SERVICE PEOPLE HAVE HEARD THIS ISSUE OCCUR WHERE IT WOULD CHIME SOMETIMES WHEN HE DID NOT HAVE HIS SEATBELT ON AND OTHER TIMES IT WOULD NOT. I AM CONCERNED THAT THE AIRBAGS MAY NOT FUNCTION CORRECTLY IF THE SEATBELT AND WEIGHT SENSOR FOR THE PASSANGER AND DRIVER ARE NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. I HAVE BEEN ADVISED THAT IT IS NOT AN ISSUE PER THE DEALERSHIP AND TO ME IT IS AS I HAVE NEVER HAD A CAR NOT CHIME NOTIFYING YOU THAT THE SEATBELTS ARE NOT FASENED. THE DEALERSHIP DID TAKE THE SAME TYPE OF VEHICLE OFF THERE LOT TO TEST IN A DIFFERENT CAR AND THAT VEHICLE NEVER CHIMED FOR THE LACK OF A FASTENED SEATBELT. I FIRST NOTICED THIS WHEN MY VEHICLE WAS AT 500 MILES AND IT IS NOW OVER 5000 AND STILL NOT RESOLVED.
