The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while driving 60 MPH on the highway, the contact heard a rattling sound coming from the exhaust system. The dealer was contacted. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the front exhaust pipe needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure via email and letter. The approximate failure mileage was 116,719.

Transmission went out does not move at all with only 49,000 miles on the car the car always had sifting problems. Brought the car brand new off the lot. One owner. Before the Transmission went out when I will stop at the red lights or stop signs the car would just take off for no reason. With my foot still on the brakes or the car would just stall when I am driving it right in the middle of traffic. GMC needs to held accountable before some one gets killed.😤😔🤬

I have been experiencing an intermittent issue where the vehicle displays a ā€œShift to Parkā€ message, even though the gear shift lever is clearly in the Park position. When this happens, the vehicle will not fully shut off, and I have to repeatedly move the shifter back and forth or restart the vehicle to clear the message. This issue began around January 2024, and it has become more frequent over time. I understand that this is a known defect in GM vehicles, and that GM issued Technical Service Bulletin #19-NA-206 to address it. According to the TSB and owner reports, this problem is caused by a faulty park switch or microswitch inside the shifter assembly, and the solution involves installing a jumper harness and/or replacing the shift control assembly. This is both a functional and safety concern, as the vehicle may not recognize it's in Park and could potentially result in a failure to turn off or secure properly. I’m requesting that General Motors or an authorized dealer perform the recommended repair per TSB #19-NA-206 at no cost, as this is a widely reported manufacturing defect. Please advise how this issue can be resolved as soon as possible. I am attempting at uploading a photo and a video. The system does not allow videos and it is rejecting the photo.

the exhaust bracket broke 3 times had it repaired at my own expense each time. my muffler broke off at the weld. my exhaust cracked. then my catalytic converter broke off.

When driving I feel shudder at lower speeds, medium speeds and sometimes faster speeds. Makes feel car motor or transmission can leave me in middle of highway or street compromising my safety. Vehicle can be inspected at any time. The dealer indicated fix was transmission oil change with additives, which I did, which cost 700.00 and the problems is still there. The vehicle has not been inspected by insurance but the dealer has as stated above. I bought vehicle with 46k miles and after about 1.5k it stated happening. Vehicle now has 50k miles. No codes have displayed.

Own a 2019 Chevy Traverse that was bought brand new and properly maintained with regular, synthetic only, oil changes. Engine failed due to ā€œfailed rod bearingā€ at only 55k miles, 3 months outside of Chevy’s regular warranty. While replacing the engine, it was found that the catalytic converter also needed replacing.

The transmission keeps stalling when the auto engine turn off comes on and I try to hit the gas. The transmission end cap had to be replaced. Then the shift to break kept going off when I was in park.

The power train on 2019 Chevy Traverses are horrible! There was a recall back in 2023 that caused me to get a replacement transmission. It hasn’t even been a full 2 years and the transmission is out AGAIN! Even with recent safety issues for the emissions purge valve and transmission defects on these cars, NO ONE HAS INITIATED ANOTHER RECALL FOR THE POWER TRAIN SYSTEM. This is frustrating, inconveniencing, and infuriating. I hope GM makes this right!

GM has a TSB # N212356540 for one exhaust pipe. Bracket broken a causes hole in pipe. Weld was bad. Mine was bad on both pipes and only one covered by GM, this led to catalytic converter cracking and flex pipe leaking. I had to pay to have repaired. This second pipe and catalytic converter were not covered

Check engine light keeps coming on for a small evap leak. When putting car in Park and turning car off, warning message comes up saying Shift to Park so I have to wiggle the shifter until the message goes away. Tailgate some times does not close when pushing the tailgate button. Remote start does not always work.

My car stalled on a four lane highway due to the alternator dying. I was able to pull over but was almost rear ended. I only had 40,000 miles on car at the time. I replaced the alternator with a factory direct from Chevy on 3/16/2022. On May 5, 2024, my car again stalled out due to alternator. At that time I was on another busy highway but had enough time to pull over. I had to have someone pick up my children and follow me home. I was terrified it would stall again and I would cause an accident.

I have a 2019 Chevy Traverse with 57,000 miles on it currently. First incident of loud noise coming from catalytic converter area began in Fall of 2022. In January 2023 I took it to the dealer and they found 2 cracks where the catalytic converter was cracked on each side of the pipes. I think they replaced the exhaust system at that time. Now, not even 1 year later, in 10/2023 I am hearing that same loud, embarrassing noise from my exhaust. I took it to the dealer today and there is a crack in my catalytic converter and the bracket broken off exhaust pipe that attaches to the muffler. I should not have to pay for this! In the Traverse Forum online this is a problem many people are having!

After shifting vehicle from Drive (D) or Reverse (R) into Park (P) and attempting to turn the vehicle engine off (keyless ignition) an alert pops up stating "shift to park". The engine will shuts down but the ignition remains in auxiliary mode preventing you from completely powering the vehicle down.

Recall for Emissions Evap leak repaired less than a year ago after engine light illuminated. Had to be taken in two separate times to be fixed. Engine light illuminated again a week ago 10/1/23, when scanned by mechanic it is showing the same emissions Evap leak. The vehicle is sputtering when trying to start and doesn’t feel safe when driving. Dealership said they’re unable to even look and diagnose for another week after knowing it’s the same recall.

My vehicle has been displaying a ''shift to park" message. The message appears when I put the vehicle in park. When I go to turn off the car the vehicle will not turn off. Sometimes If I giggle the gear shifter violently enough the car will turn off. I have had leave my car running on multiple occasions. Woken up to dead battery's because my car WILL NOT TURN OFF. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership on 3 occasions to be looked at. The first time it was noted and I was told they couldn't look at it. The second time My vehicle needed all new transmission work ( on a 2019 model car) but was told since they couldn't recreate the shift to park message they couldn't do anything about it. The 3rd time they were able to recreate the issue but wanted me to pay $1k+ for ''fix'' the problem. But the fix was just to turn off the display message. My vehicle will not turn off.

I PURCHASED THE TRAVERSE IN MARCH 2023 AND TRULY ENJOYED IT. BUT IN THE LAST WEEK IT HAS BEEN GIVING PROBLEMS TO PUT IT INTO PARK AND TURN OFF ENGINE, IT KEEPS SAYING TO "SHIFT TO PARK" AND I HAVE TO RESTART AND CHANGE GEARS TO REDO THE PARKING IT MAY BE THE GEAR BOX NOT OPERATING CORRECTLY, AND IT WILL CONTINUE TO DO THE "SHIFT TO PARK" MESSAGE UNTIL I HAVE TO KEEP REDOING THE PARKING AND EVENTUALLY IT WILL STOP. I AM SO WORRIED IT WILL COME OUT OF PARK AND ROLL DOWN THE DRIVEWAY TO STREET, AS I HAVE A SLANTED DRIVEWAY AND NO OPTION TO PARK IN STREET. COULD YOU PLEASE ADVISE ME IF THERE IS A RECALL TO REPAIR THIS. MY DAUGHTER SAID SHE SAW A NOTICE OF IT ON HER PHONE BUT I COULDN'T FIND IT. BACK BRACKET ON EXHAUST THAT IS WELDED ON HAS FAILED. THE WELD HAS FAILED CAUSING A HOLE IN THE EXHAUST. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT JUST 43K MILES. THERE IS ALREADY AN EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERAGE ON THE FRONT BRACKET ON THE 2019 CHEVY TRAVERSE.

Driving through Arizona desert and California desert, air conditioning went out. On Monday, contacted Mission Bay Chevrolet to get AC repaired. Dealership and service rep were excellent but this AC should not have failed at 39,151 miles. Diagnosis showed that Compressor clutch pulley melted freezing the compressor. I can only thank God that I had an extended warranty.

On June 12, 2022, after stopping for gas, my car did not want to start back up. I put my foot on the brake and pushed the start/stop button, but the engine struggled to come on. It did a similar thing a week before, but on that time when I pushed the button to start the car, all of my lights came on and my radio, but my air conditioner delayed in coming on. When I put the car in drive to go, nothing happened and I realized the engine never started. I pushed the start/stop button again and everything shut off and then back on and I was able to drive. For almost a year now, I have had issues with the auto stop feature when I'm at a stop light/sign. When I try to take off again, it delays on letting me move. This is also when my car will jerk or jolt as I start to drive. I took it to the dealership to look at the problem and was told there may be something with the fuel system. All they did was flush the system, but the problem didn't stop. I am seeing reports online of similar things happening to other 2019 Traverse owners. This concerns me because what happens when my car decides not to start again and I'm in a busy area? What happens when my family is with me and it doesn't want to go or it shuts off at a stop sign or light and we're in crash? I am making an appointment with another dealership, but with how many other drivers seem to be having problems, this seems to be a manufacturer issue and needs to be taken care of by them.

Intermittent "Action Required" alert on the display to "Shift to Park" after already shifting into park and turning off the car. Sometimes after jiggling the gearshift it will stop. Sometimes have to turn the car back on and shift into reverse and park again. Sometimes have to do this several times. Appears, after research online, this is a known issue under TSB 19-NA-206, September 2019. I have scheduled to take to the dealership for inspection. But it also sounds like the recommended repair is only a band-aid that will require a further repair.

On Thursday 9/9/21, I found my car's alarm going off while parked in a parking lot. I was able to silence the alarm and enter the vehicle and turn it on. As I was driving toward the exit of the parking lot the windshield wipers went on, on their own and I was unable to turn them off. Then I lost control of my steering, several warnings and alerts went off on the dashboard and the car powered off in the middle of the road without any warning. Shortly after was able to turn the car on again and reverse and get it into a spot in the parking lot where again I lost steering, several alerts came on the dashboard and the car powered down again. I had my two young children in the car and we could have been hit, if this occurred on a highway this could have been deadly! I was able to start the car again, drove it around the parking lot safely for a few minutes and then the incident occurred a third time in the exit lane of the parking lot. We called for a tow truck. The car would not turn on again for several hours. When it did turn on it was moved to a safe location where it powered off spontaneously a 4th time. When the car was picked up by the tow truck the following morning the car alarm was going off again and the doors were locking and unlocking spontaneously on their own. Onstar sent a diagnostic report indicating an issue with the Engine and Transmission System. The vehicle was towed to Millenium Chevrolet in Hempstead. They were not able to check the car until Monday 9/13/21. They replaced the battery, but were unable to identify the source of the problem. After the battery was replaced, we were alerted that the horn was not working and the doors were locking and unlocking spontaneously.

ENGINE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON ALONG WITH TRACTION CONTROL NEEDS SERVICED. THIS HAPPENED WHEN I STARTED THE TRAVERSE AND REMAINED ON. WHEN I HAD A DIAGNOSTIC TEST DONE THE CODE READ A CODE OF 300. DEALER STATED THAT CODE IS FOR CYLINDER MISFIRE NOT SURE HOW MANY. RESEARCHED AND FOUND SERVICE UPDATE N192281810 THAT READS MISFIRE DUE TO CARBON TRACKING RELEASED DATE OF MARCH 2019. IT IS THE DEALERS RESPONSIBILITY TO FIX THIS DURING THE SERVICE PORTION OF THE NEW VEHICLE LIMITED WARRANTY PERIOD. MY VEHICLE IS NOW PAST THAT AND IS MISFIRING AND READING OUT THIS CODE. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL ON ALL VEHICLES REGARDLESS OF MILES DUE TO FAULTY COILS, COIL PACK OR SPARK PLUGS. IN THE ABOVE MENTIONED SERVICE UPDATE IT STATES THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH SEVERAL VEHICLES MANUFACTURED BY GM. ATS, CTS, CAMARO AND TRAVERSE. WHEN DOING FURTHER RESEARCH THERE IS NOT A WAY TO FIND OUT IF DEALER DID THE SERVICE WHEN GM SENT OUT THE SERVICE UPDATE. I LOOKED BACK AT ALL MY RECORDS FOR SERVICES THAT THE DEALER DONE SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND SEE NO INDICATION THAT THIS SERVICE WAS PERFORMED.

MY VEHICLE IS AT 30,738 MILES AND RECENTLY I BEGAN SMELLING WHAT I THOUGHT TO BE EXHAUST FUMES INSIDE THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. I ALSO SMELLED IT AFTER THE CAR WAS PARKED OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE, NEAR THE THE HOOD OF THE CAR NEAR THE ENGINE. I TOOK IT TO THE NEAREST REPAIR SHOP AND THEY SAID THAT THE BRAZING/WELDING POINT ON THE FUEL RAIL WAS FAULTY AND THE FUEL INJECTOR HAD BROKEN OFF AND WAS SPRAYING FUEL ALL UNDERNEATH THE CAR. IT WAS "TWO OR THREE TURNS AWAY FROM A CATASTROPHIC EVENT". THE CAR WAS HAD FUEL SPRAYED ALL NEAR THE INTAKE MANIFOLD AND WAS GETTING DANGEROUSLY CLOSE TO THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD. IT WAS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME (MINUTES/HOURS) BEFORE THE VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE OR EXPLODED WITH THE AMOUNT OF LOOSE FUEL PRESENT AND I HAVE SMALL CHILDREN IN CAR SEATS I WOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE CAR IN TIME. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A CHEVY DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPLACED THE FUEL RAIL AND SEVERAL OTHER PARTS. AND RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO ME. THERE WERE STILL FUEL VAPORS COMING INTO THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE AND NEAR THE HOOD OF THE ENGINE. I TOOK IT BACK AND THE DEALERSHIP SAID ALL OF THE INSULATION AROUND/ IN THE ENGINE WAS SATURATED IN FUEL STILL. SO THEY WASHED THE INSULATION AND PUT IT BACK IN THE VEHICLE. IT STILL SMELLS LIKE FUEL VAPORS IN AND AROUND THE VEHICLE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE WOULD INDEPENDENTLY AND INTERMITTENTLY BRAKE AS THE ABS, POWER STEERING, TRACTION CONTROL, AND PARKING BRAKE WARNING LIGHTS WOULD ILLUMINATE ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO DICK WICKSTROM CHEVROLET (555 E IRVING PARK RD, ROSELLE, IL 60172) WHERE THE VEHICLE REMAINED FOR OVER A MONTH. THE DEALER HAD YET TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE AND HAD OFFERED TO RETURN THE VEHICLE TO THE CONTACT UNREPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT A DIAGNOSTIC TEAM WOULD BE SENT TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE VEHICLE INSPECTED. THE CONTACT WAS THEN INFORMED THAT THE DIAGNOSTIC TEAM WAS ALSO UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE OR DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 11,000.

2019 TRAVERSE WAS TRAVELING DOWN ROAD ABOUT ONE MILE FROM STARTING LOCATION CAR SHUT OFF AND ALL DASHBOARD LIGHTS CAME ON THAN NOTICED SMOKE FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT., FLAMES SHORTY AFTER. FD WAS CALLED AND ARRIVED AND PUT OUT FIRE. A FLUID TRAIL WAS NOTICED BEHIND CAR LEADING TO OUR HOUSE (1 MILE AWAY). NO ISSUES WITH THE CAR UP TO THIS POINT. CAR WAS TOWED AND INSURANCE CALLED, NOTIFIED GM THE NEXT DAY AFTER SEEING A RECALL ON LEAKING TRANSMISSION (THIS VIN IS NOT ON THAT LIST). GM BASICALLY SAID THAT ONCE WE CALLED THE INSURANCE COMPANY THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO FOR US. INSURANCE COMPANY (ALLSTATE) SAID THEY WILL LOOK INTO THIS. CAR WAS A LEASE AND WE HAVE NO RECOURSE. IT SEEMS FISHY TO ME THAT SOME MODELS HAVE A RECALL AND THIS APPEARS TO BE SOME KIND KIND OF LEAK FROM THAT AREA. IF GM DOESN'T CARE HOW WILL THEY KNOW IF THIS RECALL NEEDS TO INVOLVE OTHER MODELS AND VIN'S OF THIS CAR. I UNDERSTAND THAT WE LEASED THE CAR SO WE LOSE AND CAN'T RECOUP ANYTHING NOR WILL THEY WORK WITH US TO LOWER THE COST OF A REPLACEMENT. WHAT IF MY YOUNG CHILDREN WERE IN THE CAR OR MY MOTHER IN LAW WHO HAS A TOUGH TIME GETTING IN AND OUT OF THE CAR, SOMEONE COULD OF BEEN INJURIED OR WORST. SOMEONE NEEDS TO CAER ABOUT THIS. WHILE DRIVING MY 2019 TRAVERSE, WHEN I AGGRESSIVE BREAKING AND DOING A U-TURN I CANNOT ACCELERATE AFTERWARDS, WHEN I PUSH THE GAS PEDAL DOWN TO THE FLOOR IT DOESN'T ACCELERATE. I'VE BEEN ALMOST HIT MULTIPLE TIMES BECAUSE VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCELERATE AFTER DOING A U-TURN. I HAVE MULTIPLE VEHICLES AND I KEEP FORGETTING ABOUT THIS DANGEROUS DEFECT WHEN I'M DRIVING IT. HAS HAPPENED SINCE THEY OWN THE CAR ABOUT EIGHT TIMES.

I WAS SLOWING DOWN TO MAKE A TURN AND AS I TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL THE VEHICLE GET LIKE IT EITHER LOCKED UP OR WENT INTO NEUTRAL. I HAD NO CONTROL OVER ACCELERATION.

WHEN STOPPING THE VEHICLE, THE AUTO-STOP KICKS IN, WHICH SOMETIMES WORKS WELL. OTHER TIMES IT KILLS THE WHOLE CAR, SHUTTING IT DOWN COMPLETELY. THE INFOTAINMENT CENTER GOES BLACK LIKE THE CAR WAS SHUT OFF USING THE START/STOP BUTTON. SO THEN IT TAKES A BIT TO GET IT RUNNING AGAIN TO GO. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO US 6 TIMES NOW WITHIN THE LAST 2 WEEKS. IN HIGH TRAFFIC AREAS THIS CAN BE A SAFETY CONCERN. ALSO WHEN IT SHUTS DOWN COMPLETELY THE BRAKE PEDAL GOES SOFT AND DROPS DOWN TO THE FLOOR. ALL THIS SEEMS TO HAPPEN WHEN IT IS SUPPOSED TO AUTOMATICALLY START BACK UP AFTER BEING STOPPED FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME.

ON JUNE 20, 2019, I BOUGHT A 2019 CHEVY TRAVERSE WITH THE UNDERSTANDING THAT THE VEHICLE WAS IN GOOD CONDITION WITH NO DEFECTS. ON JULY THE 18 WE TOOK VEHICLE TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT, DUE TO THERE WAS A VERY STRONG ODOR WHEN INSIDE THE CAR. IT WAS CAUSING BLOODY NOSES AND BREATHING ISSUES FOR MY FAMILY. THE SMELL WAS SO STRONG THAT IT COULD BE TASTED. THE DEALERSHIP TOOK ABOUT 15 TO 20 MINUTES TO DIAGNOSE CAR AS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. WE TOOK IT HOME. ON AUGUST 1, 2019, THE VEHICLE STARTS GOING CRAZY WITH ELECTRICAL ISSUES. WHILE MY WIFE IS DRIVING WITH MY KIDS THE HORN, LIGHTS, AND EMERGENCY LIGHTS START TURNING ON AND OFF AND THERE WAS A LOUD UGLY SOUND FROM THE ENGINE. THE CAR HAD TO BE PARKED TO AND I HAD TO GO DRIVE CAR HOME DUE THE UNSAFE CONDITIONS OF VEHICLE. AS I LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD, I COULD SMELL A BURNING SMELL AND SMOKE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. SO WE TOOK VEHICLE BACK TO DEALERSHIP. AFTER BEING ON THE SHOP FOR ABOUT A WEEK , WE GOT OUR CAR BACK AND ACCORDING TO DEALERSHIP IT WAS FIXED, ALONG WITH THE SMELL THEY TOLD US IT WAS A RARE SITUATION BUT THAT WE HAD MOLD AND MILDEW COMING OUT OF THE AC UNIT WHICH WAS CAUSING THE ODOR AND HENCE BLOODY NOSE AND BREATHING ISSUES. THEY ALSO FOUND THAT THE BATTERY WAS THROWING SPARKS AND WAS BURNING ELECTRICAL WIRES IN THE ENGINE. AT THIS POINT WE JUST WANTED OUR CAR BACK. THE FOLLOWING DAY MY WIFE AND KIDS WERE PUT IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION DUE TO DEFECTIVE CAR, WHILE DRIVING THE TRAVERSE IT TURNED OFF ON THEM WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY. MY WIFE AND KIDS ARE TRAUMATIZED AND SCARED WHILE BEING PUT IN THESE DANGEROUS SITUATIONS. UNFORTUNATELY, YOUR VEHICLE HAS NOT PERFORMED WELL AND IS NOT SAFE EVEN AFTER IT WAS MADE CLEAR TO US THAT IT WAS SAFE AND FIXED.

I WAS DRIVING VEHICLE AND STOPPED AT LIGHT. THE CAR COMPLETELY CUT OFF. I HAD TO PUT IN PARK TO RESTART THE CAR. THATS WHEN THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. RECEIVED AN ADVANCED DIAGNOSIS THAT STATED ISSUE WITH ENGINE/TRANMISSION SERVICE WITHIN ONE DAY. TOOK CAR IN 7/16 AT 7:30 AND GOT BACK THAT DAY STATING THAT CAR TRANSMISSION COMMUNICATION DROPPED. THE VERY NEXT DAY 7/17 AM, SAME THING HAPPENED. TOOK THE CAR THAT AFTERNOON BACK TO DEALER AND IT HAD BEEN THERE SINCE. THEY STATE THEY ARE WAITING TALK TO GMC. NOTHING YET.

WHEN BRAKING TO DO A U-TURN AND NOT STOPPING THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF AND DOESN'T COME BACK ON RIGHT AWAY. AND IT ALMOST CAUSED ME TO GET INTO AN ACCIDENT FROM A CAR FROM THE OTHER DIRECTION. WE HAD THIS CAR FOR 3 MONTHS AND IT'S HAPPENED ABOUT FIVE TIMES NOW.
