2011 Chrysler 200, 156k miles, Original owner. At Highway Speeds engine will shut off! Extremely dangerous as you lose power steering and brakes on a busy interstate. No warning lights. No check engine. Issue just started happening and has happened multiple times in last 3 weeks. Car is unsafe to drive. After occurrence car will restart after about 30 minutes. I do not know why NHTSA or Chrysler hasn't done anything to initiate an investigation and recall. This issue is widely reported on many forums. After second instance, a repair shop reproduced issue and saw U1403 so they updated PCM/ECU as they couldn't find anything else. It has happened since then and my scanner showed DTC codes P061C status code 30 and U0401 status code 20.

The contact owns a 2011 Chrysler 200. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the instrument panel went dim and the radio became inoperable. The contact also stated that the headlights were flickering while driving. The contact related the failure with the NHTSA Campaign Number: 13V282000 (Electrical System, Air Bags) however, the vehicle was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or local dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

Car has been stalling during deceleration, braking and at stops. The issue was fixed only in one model when multiple years of this make and model was doing the same thing. The issue started in 2011 and was supposed to be addressed in 2012 but the actual recall to fix it was actually only for 2015 but I almost got into an accident by stalling. I bought the car & it started some days later in which the seller assumed it was fixed. After taking it to pep boys and getting other repairs it resulted in a $2k repair and its still stalling at stops and when slowing down. Why was the issue only fixed in 2015 models if it was made aware in 2011-2012? Those models would need that recall repair also. I have not been able to drive it continuously without it cutting off for a full day and nobody can figure out why because no codes are coming up. When researching I found a forum where it was suggested this was a major issue that was never rectified by Chrysler. They closed the investigation but did not service all cars with this issue.

2022 Winter - Had to spend 2,000.00 replace the Heater Core. This should of been covered in my books. I called Damion Chrysler to report this issue. They claimed they were not aware of such an issue. But if you look at all the reviews they say factory left extra gunck/sealer is why the heater quit blowing hot air on one side. 2023 Summer - Now my A/C isn't blowing cold air. But gargage was able to locate the leak and repair this. Have had both Drivers & Passengar Window Motors/Regulators replaced 2020 - 2022 Now in 2023 same issue with my back windows. Had power to it so replaced the Master Power Switch with a 200.00 new switch.

My car will die sometimes upon acceleration and does not restart for up to an hour sometime. No check engine light comes on. From my research online, a lot of people are having the same issue and are reporting it to be a faulty PCM (Powertrain Control Module). My RPM drops to zero and I have to coast to the shoulder of the road. It happens at least once a week.

The vehicle repeatedly stalls out when coming to a stop or when sitting at a stop light or in traffic, and has also shut off while driving at higher speeds on the freeway. This has put myself and passengers in danger, as power steering goes out when the engine is off and braking becomes much harder. The car will not turn back on if the problem occurs at higher speeds, but will turn back on if it occurs at lower speeds and stops. I have taken the car to several shops and they have confirmed this is an issue but cannot pinpoint what exactly is causing it, which has gotten to be very costly. I have yet to take it to the dealership for their insight into the issue. There are no warning lights on the dash, and the only slight codes I have in the system are unrelated to the way the car would drive as explained by the mechanics at the shops I have taken it to.

i will be driving at the speed limit and the vehicle engine will turn off. power steering and control of the vehicle will stop. the car will not restart leaving me stranded on the road. this appears to be an issue that others are reporting. there is NO check engine light or any notification that the engine is about to stop.

The car begins to buck hard and drive sluggish on the highway around 45 miles per hour. And when stopped idle at the light stalls regularly. I took it to the dealer and they had me replace the cam shift sensor. The repair did not work. It continues to stall

1) The engine suddenly cut off, power braking and power steering were gone. This happens randomly under any circumstances, with absolutely no precursors. The car will not start for about an hour, and after that time it starts with absolutely no issues, no check engine light, nothing. Yes, it is available for inspection upon request. 2) While driving on the highway at about 65mph, all power was lost, and ability to control the car was extremely limited, and this happened multiple times. Only by pure fortune I avoided a fatal crash when the car died in rush hour. 3) After the first time this has happened the car was taken to a mechanic, and they were not able to replicate the issue under any circumstances that they tried, and there was nothing wrong with the car that would warrant this, as it has never been in an accident, and was well maintained. 5) No, has not been inspected by anyone besides the standard state inspection and the mechanic that attempted to fix it. 6) There was never and still isn't anything wrong with the car that I know of, no weird noises, no engine light, no issues whatsoever besides it randomly dying and then coming back to life like nothing happened. ------------------------- As you may see, there are multiple cases of this happening and it was never adressed: https://www.carcomplaints.com/Chrysler/200/2011/engine/engine_dies_while_driving.shtml

Yesterday, when I was dropping Christmas, presents off to my son at his moms' house. My 2011 Chrysler 200, Convertible limited with 3.6L v6 Pentastar flex-fuel motor. temp gauge went all the way up into Red. Which had to cross lanes on highway so I could get off on the freeway ramp. which I made it a block and the car stalled in below-freezing temps with no heat figuring out what to do as I get out of the vehicle I noticed brown motor oil bubbling and gushing out a Coolant reservoir With oil streaks all the way down passenger side car including through rims. I researched flaws and issues that Chrysler acknowledges, like that class-action lawsuit for vehichlwes not covered under extended vehicles that have the same issue, and problems Also how come even tho my vehicle 2011 Chrysler is not covered when covered is 2012 - 2017 even thos my car motor is identical as 2012 - 2013 Which was the first generation with faulty Oil cooler. or when they used sand casting molds to make cylinder heads which some of the sand stayed and circulated through the system, Causing oil cooler lines and coolant passageways. Pretty much was left stranded in freezing below temps with a car where motor oil spueling out of coolant overflow tank, over the windshield where I could barely see when trying to pull over. also oil all down passenger side of vehicle wet from front to back . not to mention other faults with the multi systems. When I start my car the airbag, slippery or skid resistant and the anti-locking brake instruments comes on periodically and then goes out; the radio stop working, has no control of the steering wheel it wouldn't steered correctly yesterday and it wouldn't go in any gear except park. go in park.

THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THE ENGINE COMPLETELY SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING. FIRST TIME IT STARTED BACK UP AFTER 5 MINUTES. SECOND TIME STARTED BACK UP AFTER BEING JUMPED EVENTHOUGH THE BATTERY HAD CHARGE. THIS LAST TIME THE CAR WOULD NOT START. IT HAS THE POWER IT WAS TURNING OVER BUT THE ENGINE WOULD NOT START. POWER STEERING TURNED OFF IN BOTH OCCASIONS. I HAD TO HAVE ME VEHICLE TOWED AND IT STILL WILL NOT START. I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH ON A PAVED HIGHWAY ROUTE 244, IT TURNED OFF ON A STRAIGHT AWAY, NO HILLS OR TURNS.

MY WIPERS HAVE STARTED TO NOT EXACTLY STOP WORKING BUT THAT STOP THEN START UP AGAIN WHEN YOU TRY TO TURN THEM ON AS IF THEY ARE GLITCHING. THEN MY HORN STOPPED WORKING SO I WENT TO GET MY CAR INSPECTED. THE TOTAL INTEGRATED POWER DISTRIBUTION MODULE WAS NOT WORKING APPARENTLY, A $1300 FIX. THIS CAR HAS BEEN A PAIN. HAVE REPLACED PART AFTER PART. HAVE HAD 3 RECALLS AND TRULY BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL DUE TO IT BEING SUCH A DUMB THING. EVEN THE MECHANIC WAS LIKE THIS IS THE MOST EXPENSIVE FIX FOR A HORN THAT I'VE EVER SEEN!!

LUCKILY SHE WAS BY AN OFF RAMP AND WAS ABLE TO COAST TO A STOP AT THE TOP OF THE RAMP. THE ONLY THING THAT WAS STILL WORKING WAS THE BRAKES, THANK GOODNESS! THE CAR DID NOT RESTART RIGHT AWAY. NO ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS CAME BACK ON EITHER WITH TURNING THE KEY. ABOUT AN HOUR LATER THE CAR DID RESTART. WE TOOK IT TO A CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP THE NEXT DAY. THEY KEPT IT FOR 2 DAYS. THEY WERE UNABLE TO PULL ANY CODES FROM THE CAR OR RECREATE THE EVENT, THUS BEING UNABLE TO FIX THE CAR AND ANSWER WHY IT HAPPENED!

I GOT A ALERT OIL CHANGE REQUIRED (WALMART) CHANGED THE OIL MADE IT HOME LATER WENT BACK OUT FOR THE CAR TO STALL AGAIN SAME BUSY STREET, IT STARTED ABOUT 4 MINS LATER, MADE IT HOME DIDN'T MOVE IT COUPLE DAYS. MECHANIC PUT IT ON DIAGNOSTIC SAID I NEEDED ALTERNATOR STILL STALLING AFTER NEW ALTERNATOR. HAVEN'T HAD THE CAR A MONTH! BATTERY LIGHT STILL ON AFTER NEW ALTERNATOR AS WELL.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LOCAL DEALER PORTAGE FORD CDJR LOCATED AT 3013 COUNTY HWY CX, PORTAGE, WI 53901 WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE HEAT INTERCHANGER FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, HOWEVER THE REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 83,000.

WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY DURING STOP-AND-GO, RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC, MY VEHICLE'S ENGINE COMPLETELY SHUT OFF WITHOUT ANY WARNING. AT THE MOMENT OF THE ENGINE STALLING, I WAS COASTING WITH MY FOOT OFF OF THE ACCELERATOR AT LESS THAN 5 MPH, UP A SLIGHT INCLINE, ON AN OVERPASS AND INSIDE OF A CONSTRUCTION ZONE THAT WAS VOID OF A SHOULDER TO PULL OFF ONTO. WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO DEPRESS THE ACCELERATOR TO MAKE IT OVER THE UPHILL OVERPASS, THE PEDAL WAS LIMP AND NOTHING HAPPENED. THE ELECTRICAL PANEL IN MY DASH WAS OFF, WITH THE VEHICLE STILL IN DRIVE AND NO PHYSICAL OR AUDIO SIGNS OF WARNING OCCURRED PRIOR TO THE ENGINE SHUTTING OFF. I QUICKLY HIT THE BRAKES TO AVOID ROLLING IN REVERSE DOWN THE OVERPASS, SHIFTED THE VEHICLE INTO PARK AND TURNED THE IGNITION KEY TO OFF. WHEN I ATTEMPTED THE RESTART THE ENGINE, THE VEHICLE STARTED AS IF NOTHING HAD OCCURRED. AFTER DRIVING THROUGH THE REMAINDER OF THE CONSTRUCTION ZONE, I EXITED THE FREEWAY. AFTER MAKING A SHARP, RIGHT-HANDED TURN FROM THE OFF-RAMP TO THE LOCAL ROAD, THE EMERGENCY "BRAKE" WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASH TURNED ON AND WAS ACCOMPANIED WITH AN AUDIO WARNING. THE LIGHT REMAINED LIT FOR THE DURATION OF THE TURN AND FOR APPROXIMATELY 500 FEET AFTERWARD UNTIL IT TURNED OFF. NO OTHER ABNORMALITIES WERE OBSERVED WITH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAS SLIGHTLY MORE THAN 120K MILES ON IT AND NOTHING LIKE THIS HAS EVER OCCURRED IN THE PAST. THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE 200, ESPECIALLY WITH THE 2011 AND 2012 MODELS. MY ENGINE IS A 4-CYL, 2.4L. DESPITE THIS WIDESPREAD HAZARD, AND AN EARLY INVESTIGATION BY THE NHTSA, NO RECALL HAS BEEN MANDATED. THE RATIONALE? BECAUSE IT OCCURS AT A "LOW RATE IF SPEED". THIS IS ABSURD. I WAS ON A FREEWAY OVERPASS, INSIDE A CONSTRUCTION ZONE, DURING RUSH HOUR. IF THIS NOT A HAZARD, I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS. PLEASE MANDATE A RECALL FOR THIS BEFORE SOMEONE DIES ON A TRAIN TRACK OR INTERSECTION.

THE ALTERNATOR EXPERIENCED A RAPID FAILURE: WHILE DRIVING ON I-95 NORTH THROUGH MARYLAND AT HIGHWAY SPEED (~65 MPH), THE ABS AND STEERING CONTROL INDICATOR LIGHTS BEGAN TO BLINK ON AND OFF, JOINED SHORTLY THEREAFTER BY THE BRAKE INDICATOR. THIS WENT ON FOR ABOUT 10 SECONDS BEFORE THE VENTS SUDDENLY BEGAN TO BLOW HOT AIR. I PULLED OVER TO THE SHOULDER AND SHUT THE ENGINE. THE CAR WOULD NOT RESTART AND THE BATTERY DIED--NO HAZARD LIGHTS, OR ANYTHING. I LIFTED THE HOOD TO CHECK AND IT SMELLED LIKE SOMETHING WAS BURNING. AFTER HAVING THE CAR TOWED FOR SERVICE, THEY SAID IT WAS THE ALTERNATOR. THE CAR IS A 3.6L WITH A 160 AMP ALTERNATOR. THE SAME ALTERNATOR WAS RECALLED FOR THE SAME ISSUE (NHTSA RECALL 14V-634) IN THE REAR-WHEEL DRIVE VERSIONS OF THESE CHRYSLERS. FROM MY UNDERSTANDING, THE ALTERNATOR IN MY CAR IS IDENTICAL TO THE RECALLED ALTERNATOR, DIFFERING ONLY IN THE HOUSING. THERE WERE NEVER ANY INDICATORS THAT THE ALTERNATOR WAS GOING BAD--NO DIMMING LIGHTS, NO HISTORY OF REQUIRING JUMP STARTS, ETC. WE LEFT CANADA TO GO ON A VACATION TO SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, THE TRIP WAS 3200 KILOMETRES. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE WIPERS WENT UP ABOUT 6 INCHES AND STOPPED WITHOUT BEING ON. LATER DID IT AGAIN. A FEW MORE TIMES. WE THEN TRIED TO TURN THEM ON AND IT WENT HALF WAY AND STOPPED. AFTER THAT IT DID ALL KINDS OF WEIRD THINKS FROM TURNING ON WHEN THE SWITCH WAS OFF. THE LAST DAY WHEN WE FINALLY ARRIVED TO PALM SPRINGS, WHEN I SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF, THE WIPERS WERE ON AT FULL SPEED. I HAD TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY TO STOP IT. I THEN WENT ON THE INTERNET AND DID SOME RESEARCH. THANK GOODNESS FOR PEOPLE POSTING THEIR PROBLEMS ON THE INTERNET, I WAS ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM TO THE TIPM. IT APPEARS TO BE A RECURRING PROBLEM WITH CHRYSLER TIPM'S. AND OF COURSE THIS IS NOT A WARRANTY ITEM AS THE WARRANTY HAD JUST EXPIRED IN JUNE. TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED WITH CHRYSLER'S WARRANTY AND RECALL OF THEIR TIPM'S. FROM WHAT I HAVE READ ABOUT THEIR TIPM PROBLEMS, IT HAS SERIOUS POTENTIAL FOR INJURY. IT CAN QUIT TOTALLY ALL OF A SUDDEN SHUTTING DOWN ALL POWER AND STOPPING THE VEHICLE ON A BUSY HIGHWAY.

AUTOZONE GOLD BATTERY REPLACEMENT PERFORMED BY OWNER. HORN HAS NOT WORKED SINCE THIS FIRST INCIDENT; WHICH SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A SAFETY ISSUE AND NOT ONLY ADDRESSED FOR POSSIBLE WIRING CONCERN BUT PASSENGER SAFETY. WITHIN ONE WEEK, BATTERY WAS COMPLETELY DEAD AND BATTERY WAS REPLACED AND INSTALLED BY OWNER. WITHIN ONE MORE WEEK, BATTERY WAS COMPLETELY DEAD. ON APRIL 13, VEHICLE WAS DROPPED AT ASE CERTIFIED MECHANIC MAYBERRY IN COLUMBIA, TN AND MOST OF 4/13 WAS ATTEMPTING TO CHARGE THE BATTERY. ON 4/14, DIAGNOSIS RESUMED WITH FULLY CHARGED REPLACEMENT BATTERY. LOOSE BATTERY CABLE TIGHTENED. NO OTHER ISSUE FOUND. NO SOLUTION FOUND. SUSPECT OWNER WILL ONCE AGAIN HAVE DEAD BATTERY WITHIN DAYS. NO HORN FUNCTION.

MY STEERING WHEEL BECAME HARD TO TURN. IT WAS LIKE DRIVING MANUALLY. I TOOK MY CHRYSLER 200 TO PEP BOYS AND THEY REPLACED THE POWER STEERING PUMP. THE STEERING WAS FINE FOR A DAY THEN IT WENT BACK TO BEING HARD TO TURN. I TOOK IT BACK TO PEP BOYS AND THEY REPLACED THE PUMP AGAIN. IT LASTED FOR THREE DAYS AND IT WENT BACK TO BEING HARD TO TURN. I AGAIN RETUNED TO PEP BOYS AND THEY THEN SAID THAT MY RACK IN PINION HAD TO BE REPLACED. I COULD NOT AFFORD TO GET THE WORK DONE. I WAS TOLD BY CHRYSLER, THAT MY WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED AND I WOULD HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET. MY CAR WAS NOT YET 2 YEARS OLD. THIS WAS RIDICULOUS. NO ONE WANTS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE FRONT END. I WAS TOLD BY A PEP BOYS MECHANIC THAT THEY HAD WORKED ON OVER 100 CARS (CHRYSLER 200'S) THROUGH ENTERPRISE RENTAL AND THEY HAD SO MANY CARS WITH THE STEERING ISSUE THAT THEY STOPPED WORKING ON THEM AND JUST DO THE TUNE UPS. IF CHRYSLER KNOWS ABOUT THIS THEN THEY SHOULD HAVE REPAIRED IT. MY CAR IS STILL IN THIS POSITION. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET REPAIRS DUE TO LACK OF FUNDS. I STILL DO NOT FEEL THAT I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT IS WRONG WITH A NEW CAR. NOW I AM HAVING AN ISSUE WITH MY TURN SIGNAL. WHEN I TURN ON MY LEFT TURN SIGNAL, THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS DIM. OVER THE PAST 4 MONTHS, OUR PARENTS VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICING 6 TIMES DUE TO THE VEHICLE BEING COMPLETELY DEAD. THE CAR NEVER SAT LONGER THAN 2 - 3 DAYS WITHOUT BEING DRIVEN. THEY WERE TOLD THE PROBLEM WAS DUE TO THE LICENSE PLATE LIGHT, THEN THE GLOVE BOX LIGHT NOT TURNING OFF, THEN THEY WEREN'T SURE. ON 2/26, THE VEHICLE WOULD ONLY START AND RUN, WHILE CONNECTED TO THE JUMPER. THE DEALERSHIP TOOK THE CAR IN AND HAD IT FOR 2 FULL WEEKS. THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. MOM & DAD PICKED UP THE VEHICLE ON MARCH 14TH, NO EXPLANATION AS TO THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. WENT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP ON MARCH 19TH TO FIND OUT IF ANY FURTHER INFORMATION HAD BEEN DETERMINED... NOTHING! THEY WERE THEN ADVISED THE CAR HAS TO BE DRIVEN ALL THE TIME, TO AVOID DYING BECAUSE THE COMPUTER SYSTEM NEVER SHUTS OFF AND THEREFORE, DRAINS THE BATTERY WHEN THE CAR IS IDLE. THEY WERE FURTHER ADVISED TO PURCHASE AND USE A BATTERY TENDER TRICKLE CHARGER AND TO KEEP IT CONNECTED TO THE VEHICLE WHENEVER THE VEHICLE IS NOT IN OPERATION. THIS IS VERY INCONVENIENT AS OUR PARENTS ARE IN THEIR 80'S AND DON'T GET AROUND SO EASY ANYMORE. THIS IS NOT AN ACCEPTABLE SOLUTION. THEY'VE HAD THIS VEHICLE FOR ALMOST 4 YEARS, IF THE COMPUTER ISSUE AS DESCRIBED BY THE DEALER WERE ACCURATE, WHY DID IT WORK PROPERLY FOR THE FIRST 3.5 YEARS AND NOW HAS ISSUES? MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAD BEEN COMING ON. THEY CHECKED IT WHEN I GOT MY OIL CHANGED ON 9/13 BUT IT TURNED OFF THAT MORNING. IT CAME BACK ON THE MORNING OF 9/17 AND LATER THAT AFTERNOON WHEN I WAS PULLING INTO A RESTAURANT THE CAR SHUT OFF WHILE I WAS GOING THROUGH THE PARKING LOT. I WAS ABLE TO TURN IT RIGHT BACK ON AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS OFF AGAIN. IF I HAD BEEN CROSSING INTO TRAFFIC WHEN THIS HAPPENED I WOULD HAVE BEEN HIT. THE PROBLEM: POPPING #33 FUSE (SWITCH BANK/DIAGNOSTIC LINK CONNECTOR/PCM), HAVE BEEN REPLACING FUSES EACH AND EVERY TIME SO I CAN GO ON WITH MY BUSINESS. I FIND THAT IT HAPPENS BETWEEN SHIFTING GEARS. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF YOU ARE IN DRIVE/AUTOMATIC MODE OR AUTO-STICK MODE. DID NOT TURN MY CAR IN RIGHT AWAY (NOW I WISH I WOULD HAVE) BECAUSE I WOULD HAVE FELT SILLY IF I HAD MY CAR TOWED AND THE TECH. FOUND THAT A $.25 FUSE WAS BLOWN. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS ISSUE WITH A RISK FACTOR THROUGH THE ROOF BECAUSE THE DRIVE TRAIN COMPLETELY SHUTS DOWN. NO POWER STEERING, NO POWER BRAKES. AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS YOU PUCKER UP AND HOPE YOU CAN MAKE IT TO THE SIDE WITHOUT GETTING INTO AN ACCIDENT BEFORE YOUR CAR COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP. WHEN I WAS MAKING A GRADUAL RIGHT HAND TURN (CURVE TO THE RIGHT) AT APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, ON FLAT LAND, I EXPERIENCED TOTAL ENGINE SHUTDOWN, ELECTRICAL SHUTDOWN, AND LOSS OF POWER STEERING IN A SPLIT SECOND - WITHOUT WARNING. CAR STALLED ON THE THROBS NECK EXPRESSWAY WHILE SITTING IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. WHEN I GOT THE CAR STARTED AGAIN IT INITIALLY WOULDN'T MOVE. WHEN I DID MAKE OFF THE HIGHWAY THE CAR SHUT OFF ON ME COMPLETELY. I BARELY MADE UT BACK TO NEW JERSEY IN THE CAR BECAUSE THE CAR STRUGGLED TO ACCELERATE & MOVE ALL THE WAY HOME.CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AS WELL AS SEVERAL OTHER LIGHTS ON THE DASH BOARD. WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT THE ENGINE SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. WE COULD NOT GET IT TO RESTART. BUT THE RADIO AND THE WINDOWS WORKED. WHEN WE WOULD ATTEMPT TO RESTART, THE ENGINE LIGHT AND THE ELECTRICAL LIGHT CAME ON. WE HAD TO HAVE THE TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG SINCE THERE WERE NO CODES AND THEY COULD NOT RECREATE THE PROBLEM.

TOOK ALMOST A MONTH TO GET BEZEL. 8/10/2011-BEZEL REPLACED IN GA . 8/3/2011-TURN SIGNALS MALFUNCTIONING, HEADLIGHTS WOULDN'T COME ON AFTER ENTERING A TUNNEL WHILE ON AUTOMATIC. 8/10/2011-CAR BACK TO GA. FOR REPAIR. REPAIR NOT COMPLETED UNTIL 9/7/2011. 2/29/2012-LOST ALL POWER TO STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS, NO POWER TO DEPLOY AIRBAG IF INVOLVED IN CRASH. 3/2/2012- BACK TO GA. FOR REPAIR. 3/9/2012-SHOP MANAGER CALLED TO CHECK ON CAR. 3/12/2012-SHOP MANAGER CALLED TO CHECK ON CAR. WHILE TALKING TO HIM, AFTER TOLD HIM WE WEREN'T DRIVING CAR DUE TO AIRBAG CONCERNS TIL PROBLEM WAS SOLVED, HE STATED HE WOULDN'T DRIVE CAR EITHER DUE TO POSSIBLE AIRBAG SAFETY CONCERNS. 3/20/2012-CHRYSLER REQUESTED WE TAKE CAR TO DEALER TO BE DRIVEN FOR UNSPECIFIED AMOUNT OF TIME TO SEE IF CAR WILL DUPLICATE ANY OF MALFUNCTIONS. I FIRST GOT THE CHRYSLER 200M IN JUNE 2011. TWO DAYS AFTER PURCHASING I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT AND ONCE IT TURNED GREEN I TRIED TO GO THE CAR AND HAD NO GAS, NO BRAKES, AND I WAS UNABLE TO PUT ON MY HAZARD LIGHTS. THE CAR HAD COMPLETELY SHUT OFF ON ME UNTIL I PLACED THE CAR IN PARK, TURN THE KEY TO THE OFF POSITION, AND THEN RESTARTED THE CAR. MY SECOND INCIDENT HAPPENED WHEN I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT ABOUT TO TAKE A LEFT. ONCE THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I PROCEEDED TO GO AND THEN I HAD COMPLETE ENGINE FAILURE AGAIN; WHILE IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION. I LOST MY GAS, MY BRAKES, POWER STEERING, MY RADIO SHUT OFF, AND WAS NOT ABLE TO USE MY HAZARDS AGAIN. I HAD TO PLACE THE CAR IN PARK AND ONCE AGAIN RESTART IT FOR THE CAR TO TURN BACK ON FOR ME TO BE ABLE TO MOVE OUT OF THE WAY OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC. I THEN BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE IT STAYED FOR ONE WEEK; THEY SAID THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND THEREFORE COULDN'T FIND THE CAUSE. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE NEW ON JUNE 7, 2011. ON SEPTEMBER 29, 2011, WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON CITY STREETS AND STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC SIGNAL, THE VEHICLE HAD A COMPLETE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILURE. I WAS UNABLE TO EVEN TURN ON THE HAZARD WARNING SIGNALS. THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY WITHOUT ANY POWER WHAT SO EVER. THIS LASTED ABOUT ONE TO THREE MINUTES AND THE VEHICLE CAME BACK TO LIFE. ON SEPTEMBER 30, 2011, TWICE THE VEHICLE HAD TWO (2) COMPLETE ELECTRICAL FAILURES WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS. EACH TIME THIS FAILURE LASTED ONE TO THREE MINUTES AND THE VEHICLE CAME BACK TO LIFE. OCTOBER 3, 2011, THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP. OCTOBER 4, 2011 AT APPROXIMATELY 9:00 AM, THE DEALERSHIP ADVISED THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND ANY CAUSE FOR THE ELECTRICAL FAILURE AND RELEASED THE VEHICLE BACK TO ME. THIS SAME DAY (OCTOBER 4, 2011) I DROVE THE VEHICLE ON THE FREEWAYS IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AND AT A SPEED OF APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE HAD ANOTHER COMPLETE ELECTRICAL FAILURE. I HAD NO POWER ASSIST IN STEERING OR BRAKING, THE MOTOR WAS DEAD, ALL INSTRUMENTS WERE BLACK, COMPLETE LOSS OF ELECTRICAL. I WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE FOR APPROXIMATELY THREE TO FIVE SECONDS AND THEN THE VEHICLE CAME BACK TO LIFE. AS A RESULTS OF THIS INCIDENT, THE RADIO SYSTEM WHEN IT CAME BACK TO LIFE WAS DAMAGED BY THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILURE AND I THEN TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP TO SHOW THEM PROOF THAT THIS VEHICLE HAS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM WITH ITS ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. THE DEALERSHIP IS ONCE AGAIN TRYING TO IDENTIFY AND CORRECT THE PROBLEM. I AM SURE THAT THE READER OF THIS COMPLAINT CAN UNDERSTAND HOW SERIOUS THIS PROBLEM IS AND THE DANGER THIS PROBLEM PRESENTS TO THE PUBLIC.
