The engine stalls abruptly while driving. At the time of this writing, it has luckily stopped when the car was at lower speeds like taking a turn, in a school pickup line, idling at the traffic light. The dashboard does not flash any warning lights and the engine just shuts off abruptly. We then switch the transmission back into parking, switch the A/C off and then start the car by turning the key as usual - it starts very fine and in the first go. This has been happening since last 2 months, upon servicing the car last month the service center noted that lower A/C freon levels were causing massive strain on the A/C compressor forwarding an excessive load to the engine causing stalling to occur. However, even after restoring the freon levels the engine stalling issue still persist. A second round of extensive day-long diagnostics run by the same service station this month did not reveal any problem or root causes and we were left with no resolution. This creates a critical safety hazard for our family and general public.
I started having the oil pressure warning light come on same day after an oil change. It was a 3-hour drive, and the light will come on while my foot is on the break. Oil level was in the safe marker. Then I started feeling rumbling like I was driving a stick shift car. One major incident I was waiting for my turn at a light and when it turned green, the car was stalling but went. All of sudden it stopped and cut off and wouldn't crank back up. When it did the light was red and cars were going around me. It was running hot but started back up for me to drive home. But it I stopped it shuts off. The inside lights do a weird thing like comes on randomly while driving and it's scary at night. Also, if using the left turn signal the lights comes on. But when the car is off the radio and other controls go bright then dim. When put on a code reader many codes come up P0506, P0137, P0171, P0131, P0302
While driving the car is in process.. the engine will suddenly stop (stall). I loose all power to the car and is unable to stop the car or control the speed or any other functions of the car. The only way to stop the car immediately is to manually use the emergency breaks. My 3.6 liter engine is having the same engine defect as the 2.4 2000 Chrysler 200 engine N52... causing it to malfunction. Also sometimes when trying to start the car while turning the key in the ignition the engine begin to flood on its on and get completely stuck in that position..and become unable to process to start and run. For about a year and a half I have been back and forth to the auto mechanic paying so much money trying to figure out what is going on with my car. Unable to fix of com up with a solution. My car has been more undrivable,in the shop and and unsafe then it has been driven. The last time I was driving my car with my [XXX] [XXX] child in the car the engine power failed and I was unable to stop .. we where coming on a 4 way traffic light going at full speed.. my light had turned red. Nothing I would do would stop or slow the car down. I'm so happy my child knows to pull the emergency breaks... He saved our life. This has happened multiple times B4 this last time but never to this extent. It seems the longer this issue is going the worst it's becoming. I began doing research on Chrysler 200 to see if anyone one else may have been having this issue to hopefully find a solution. because this is my only car and I have put everything I have into this to get this car and to fix this car.. when I looked in to recalls I found that the 2.4 liter engine for the 2000 Chrysler 200 was having the same engine defect as my 2013 Chrysler 200 3.6 liter engine.. . So I would like to make a vehicle complaint about my car's engine defect causing the engine to malfunction which is a safety issue. Car shuts down suddenly while driving causing the wheel to lock up and breaks unable to be pressed.
The car randomly stalls while I am driving it. I lose all power to the car and the RPM's go to zero. I have to jiggle the fuse box and turn the key to the on position until I hear the fuel pump kick on, then I can start the car. I can tell when the car will stall on me when the RPM's fluctuate and the car stutters. My safety is put at risk to me and to other people because my car loses power while I am driving it. I lost power to the car four times this morning alone and almost got smashed by a 5th wheel truck. I have lost power on the freeway while my children were in the car with me. My husband is a mechanic and he thinks it is the fuse box that needs to be replaced.

Coming to a stop at a red light or stop sign card jerks starters then shuts down. Almost got in an accident two or three times because of this safety situation I am having with the drivetrain and the engine stall. This happens all the time from the time I purchased the vehicle.
For the past three months my car shuts off while driving for no reason without warning. Some times even when I am at a stop waiting for light to change while trying to accelerate to go it just shuts off and have to wait for some time to try to start it again. This problem started around May of 2023 and I have not found a solution. Replaced fuel pump based on a article I read on line, but problem continued as of today 11-23-2024
The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle jerked and stalled. The vehicle failed to restart. The oil warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle was inspected by an independent mechanic for multiple undisclosed failures; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was then inspected by another independent mechanic and the contact was informed that the failure was related to the NHTSA Campaign Number: 13V552000 (Engine). The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the VIN was included in an unrelated recall. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

The car was losing power while being driven. It was towed to the dealership. Mechanic stated the engine was leaking oil and something is loose inside the engine. My only option would be to replace the engine.
The vehicle shuts off while driving at any given time. It started about 4 months ago while I was on the freeway in the fast lane. No warning lights or sounds came on. I costed over to the left shoulder because it was rush hour. When I tried to restart it, it sounded like it was stalling and I couldn't jump it either. It was like the engine got hot even though the gauge didn't say it was. After I let it set for about 30 minutes it started right back up. I thought it was a one time thing, but it's been doing it a lot more and I've had to sit and wait for longer periods of time. I searched online and found the symptoms of what it's doing and it appears there was a recall and investigation about the issue. If I remember correctly there was over 13,000 vehicles recalled for the powertrain module or something like that but when I searched my vehicle it says no recall.
My first complaint is that my car stalls as I am actively driving. Whether I am using cruise control or physically pressing the gas pedal, the car just stalls out and I lose control of all steering function & have to try to get to the shoulder before I get slammed into on the highway. This happens at least twice weekly, all hours of the day or night, regardless of the weather or how much gas is in the tank, and I almost always have my children with me.There are not one, but TWO recalls for this specific issue which I just found today after months of Internet searching because I never received any notices.The recalls are Chrysler campaign N52 and NHTSA campaign 13v043000 - so how is it that those recalls don't apply to MY particular 2013 Chrysler 200? My second complaint is about the horn, and I'm not the only person who has dealt with this one either, there are several online forums... When I manually press the horn on the steering column, nothing happens. No sound, no beeps, no honks, nada. If I need to alert someone of my presence, I can't.(This actually caused me to get hit by another driver who was on her phone last December, and I saw her coming at me but I couldn't alert her). Now just because I can't manually make the horn go beep, doesn't mean it does not work. Oh it works. There's a horn in there some where that just randomly honks, every day, sometimes I'm driving, sometimes I'm in my house. The honks can be little blips or short beeps, but most of the time, it's just one very, very long continuous honk. When I'm driving and this happens people think I'm having an emergency and all start to move over to the far right lane, which is just dangerous. If I cause a wreck over distracting other drivers it wouldn't be good. I did have it looked at, the mechanic plugged in the diagnostic computer & said there was no error code and he couldn't see anything immediately that would cause the issue, so it was most likely electric and he'd need a code to know more.
After starting the vehicle and going from reverse to drive the vehicle stalls out. After the initial stall and traveling a few miles, while stopping at a traffic signal the vehicle stalls out again and more times than not can accelerate at a speed higher than prompted. This is a frequent occurrence and other owners of the same make model and year that I have spoken with have the same issue.
My son was driving his car which is a 2013 Chrysler 200 when the engine suddenly began to knock loudly and then the car shut off in traffic. There were no breaks or steering which nearly resulted in my son having an accident. He was able to get the car pulled to the side. Then we had the car towed to the shop. The mechanics said the dipstick showed no and that the knock was the result of an engine failure due to no oil in the oil pan. There was excessive debris in the small amount of oil that remained in the oil pan. The mechanic said that the debris came from bearings that have worn away. The engine is not repairable. It was noted that there was a recall on 2013 Chrysler 200 vehicles for this very same problem. However the recall for some reason excluded this specific car. Apparently the recall did not go far enough to cover all the cars affected.
As I was driving down a slight slope while braking to try to come to a stop, the car died / shut off. Within the few seconds that I was trying to slow to a stop, the brakes stopped working, various lights turned on the Dash (I can't remember which), and then the car shut off entirely. If there was a car or something in front of me, I would not have been able to stop because the brakes weren't working. This problem has been reported numerous times through various online forums/sites. There was no warning, message, or other symptom to indicate this would happen. This car also has stalling issues that has been complained of by other Chrysler 200 owners as well. Both stalling and shutting off poses a serious concern to all drivers.
Car stalled while going down highway. Engine light not on, has gas, no over heating. 3rd time this has happened. Wait a couple hours and it starts with no problem. I was told by mechanic it was probably just bad gas and not to worry. Cause no codes came up. Then today i was almost hit.
My car's check engine light came on. I took the car to my personal mechanic because it is out of warranty. My mechanic told me that I had a service bulletin issued for the problem I am having, which is cylinder #4 misfire. The service bulletin is 09-002-14 Rev B. It extends the warranty to 10 years or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first. I was told by the dealer and Chrysler Customer Care that my vehicle was not part of this service bulletin, even though I am experiencing the same issue as the other Chrysler 200s that are. I believe my car should be covered under this bulletin especially since Chrylser knew this problem existed since 2014, right after I bought my vehicle, 7/2013. I should have been informed at the time. The service bulletin does not exclude any vehicle. It says Models, not specific models. This repair will cost me over $3,000 and I believe Chrysler should uphold the service bulletin and fix my car. I talked to one customer service representative and that person didn't understand why my car wasn't covered but never called me back like she said she would. I called again and was told my car was not part of this service bulletin. All Chrysler 200s should be part of this service bulletin if they experience the same issue as others.
Everyone single one of these issues as stated on the websites (carcomplaints.com and chryslerproblems.com) and in other's complaints has happened since the day after I bought is from a so-called dealership (road side flip shop) in January 2022. As stated "There are no warning lights, sounds, or visual cues to indicate any sort of problem." The engine just turns off and the gas pedal hits the floor not allowing acceleration. "In addition to the engine stalling, the power steering and brake assist shuts down." "It doesn’t trigger any error codes for an OBD-II reader, meaning technicians won’t be able to diagnose the problem Once the car is disabled, there are varying reports about being able to restart the engine. Some say the car will restart right away like nothing ever happened, while others say they've been left on the side of the road waiting for their ignition to respond." This has happened on a nearly weekly basis since purchasing, sometimes multiple times in the week. Absolutely NO warning signs, the engine just shuts off. It has randomly died at stop signs, red lights, in intersections and on the highway in high speed traffic. Once while my elder mother was driving to pick me up from the airport and other times while my significant other was in the car driving he's 5 yr old daughter home from school, the latest one this previous evening and he reported to me that 2 cars had to quickly veering around them at the last second. It was absolutely terrifying for him with his child in the car. After multiple visits to mechanics for the issue 2 diagnostic tests with no codes and no code history, and a fuel pump replacement that did nothing and numerous roadside calls .One mechanic was kind enough to state the vehicle has recalls for stalling issues and gave screen shots from his end. I called the number on the recall notices for Chrysler directly and was rudely informed that there were not "active" recalls on the car and that the previous ones, N52 and N02 are void

The contact stated that while driving approximately 35-40 MPH and approaching a four-way stop, the brake pedal was depressed and the vehicle inadvertently stalled and lost electrical power. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and continued to drive. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring while driving. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the battery and unknown sensors needed to be replaced. Purchased car 8/03/21. Got full possession of car 8/18/21. The car shuts off while driving and backing up with no warning. It shuts off when you press on the brakes. When you come to a complete stop and then press on the accelerator , the car hesitates to move, then moves very slowly , jerks then starts to move at a normal pace . Engine light comes on continuously.
Cadillac converter has been running hot Engine mount leaking oil. Air bag safety recall read online. Wheel bearing.

Car shuts off randomly while driving and will not start back right away
ON 9/3/21 MY CAR STALLED TWICE WHILE DRIVING, NO WARNING, NO LIGHTS, THEN IT RESTARTED ON IT'S OWN. I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF A TURN WITH OTHER CARS APPROACHING MY CAR, COULD HAVE GOTTEN HIT BY ANOTHER CAR. UNABLE TO STEER AND HORN WITH A LOW BEEP. ON 9/4/21 ST 7:30AM WHILE DRIVING TO TAKE CAR TO GET CHECKED OUT I THOUGHT I SAW A SPARK WHERE AUX CABLE WAS INSERTED, I UNPLUGGED THE CABLE, NO BURNING SMELL OR ANY OTHER THINGS SEEN.

The car engine periodically loses power. My mechanic did a diagnostics and said the problem is with the Throttle Control Actuator, the code is P2173. Although my car is not included in the recall, my Mechanic is sure it is a default issue by Chrysler. I am experiencing the same malfunctioning problems as other Chryslers that were being recalled for engine losing power. This has happened while driving on the expressway, I had to put on my caution light and pray until I could get to my Mechanic's shop. I informed Chrysler about this and I kept getting the runaround. This car only has 36,000 miles on it, even though it's a 2013; my Mother owned this car before me and we both take very good care of all the maintenance for the car. The safety problem is that this issue can happen anytime without warning and I am afraid to even drive the car especially on the highway or expressway, but it is unavoidable at times.
My 2013 Chrysler 200 has stalled or shut off completely while driving. The steering wheel and brakes lock up and the car just stops running. There are never any warnings or lights ahead of time to indicate there is any problem. The car simply just shuts off while driving and will not start back up right away. After sitting for about an hour untouched, the car will start right up and run fine until it happens again. No mechanic can diagnose it because there are no lights or codes to run to say what the issue is. My third time this happened, I was in a busy intersection attempting to make a turn and was almost t-boned when my car couldn't move out of the intersection. After the car shuts down and I attempt to restart right away, all the lights on the dash light up, but none stay on once the car stops cranking or even when the car does actually start up again. This is very dangerous for myself and any one else I may have in my car with me. I am a mother and I do not feel safe ever having my kids in my car with me. I've read online that this has happened to so many others but no recall will ever be done to fix this issue.
Engine failure, speed control doesn't work, car keeps cutting off, does not pick up speed, jerks really bad, shifts gears by it self at times, air bags are recalled, the car has been at the chrysler dealership for over 6 months they keep saying different things are wrong with it not sure completely what the issues are just know a few. I was told the car is still jerking and cutting off which was the problem when I brought the car in they are charging me almost $800 for work done and was promised the car would be fixed but the car still has the same exact issues from the moment I brought it in. And being told it is still not drivable after being worked in by Chrysler mechanics for over 6 months.

THE BRAKE PEDAL FELT SPONGY WHEN DEPRESSED, CAUSING THE BRAKING DISTANCE TO BE EXTENDED. THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED MULTIPLE TIMES FOR THE FAILURE. THE ABS MODULE, BRAKE BOOSTER AND BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER WERE REPLACED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. ADDITIONALLY, THE VEHICLE OCCASIONALLY STALLED AND LOSS MOTIVE POWER WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 13,000.

VEHICLE DIED WHILE DRIVING 40-45 MPH IN TRAFFIC WOULD NOT RESTART UNTIL AFTER SITTING FOR 30 MIN TO 2 HOURS. THERE WAS NO WARNING BEFORE IT DIED, IT WAS RUNNING NORMALLY. AFTER IT RESTARTED THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT FLASHED THEN STAYED ON SOLID FOR A COUPLE DAYS. I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE CRANKSHFT POSITION SENSOR SO I HAD THAT REPLACED. THE CAR THEN 3 WEEKS LATER WHILE DRIVING STARTED CHUGGING REALLY BAD. I WAS THEN TOLD THE IGNITION COIL ON #2 CYLINDER WAS MISFIRING. I HAD THAT REPLACED ALONG WITH ALL SPARK PLUGS AND CAR RAN THE SAME AFTER DRIVING 4-5 MILES THEN DIED AND NO RESTART. THE REPAIR SHOP FOUND THE #2 IGNITION COIL MELTED INTO THE VALVE COVER AND IT HAD ALSO CRACKED THE VALVE COVER. THEY REPLACED THE VALVE COVER AND THE #2 IGNITION COIL AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN. THE CAR IS CURRENTLY AT THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP AND PREMLIMINARY ESTIMATE IS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM SENDING TOO MUCH VOLTAGE TO THAT CYLINDER.SO FAR THERE HAS BEEN 2 IGNITION COILS MELTED. I HAVE BEEN WITHOUT ABILITY TO DRIVE MY CAR FOR 4 WEEKS NOW. PLEASE PUT A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM !

I HAVE OWNED THIS CAR FOR 3 YEARS. A YEAR AFTER OWNING IT I BEGAN HAVING ISSUES WITH THE ENGINE SHUTTING DOWN WHILE DRIVING. IT IS RANDOM AND HAPPENS WITH NO WARNING, NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR ANY INDICATION THAT IT'S GOING TO HAPPEN. IT HAS HAPPENED IN TRAFFIC WHERE I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED BY A SEMI BECAUSE WHEN THE ENGINE DIES I LOSE POWER STEERING AND CAN'T GET IT OFF THE ROAD. SOMETIMES IT WILL RESTART RIGHT AWAY OTHER TIMES IT TAKES AN HOUR OR MORE. THIS HAS HAPPENED WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY AND CITY STREETS. MOST COMMONLY IT HAPPEN WHEN I HAVE TO TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR AND THEN REAPPLY, LIKE SLOWING DOWN FOR A CAR TURNING IN FRONT OF ME, TAKING A TURN AND TAKING AN EXIT RAMP. THIS HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES OVER THE LAST COUPLE YEARS. I HAVE HAD IT AT A DEALERSHIP AND THEY CAN'T DIAGNOSE A PROBLEM OR RECOMMEND A FIX. I HAVE ALSO BEEN IN CONTACT WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND THEY TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO AND I WOULD JUST HAVE TO DRIVE THE CAR AND TAKE IT BACK IN IF THE PROBLEM WORSENS. THAT IS NOT AN OPTION BECAUSE IT IS EITHER GOING TO GET ME STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD OR IN AN ACCIDENT.

MY CAR HAS JUST UNDER 50,000 MILES ON IT AND IS WELL MAINTAINED. TWICE IN THE PAST WEEK, THE ENGINE HAS STALLED WHILE COMING TO A STOP AT THE EXACT SAME STOP SIGN. THERE IS NO WARNING PRIOR, DURING, OR AFTER. I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND IT HAS STARTED RIGHT BACK UP.

THIS IS MY SECOND COMPLIANT, THOUGH I SHOULD'VE BEEN COMPLAINING SINCE BUYING THIS VEHICLE IN JUNE 2016. MY CAR WOULDN'T START AND THE ENGINE WOULD STALL, NO BATTERY ISSUE. ALL OF A SUDDEN A MONTH LATER IT STARTED. I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC HE SAID THE ENGINE LIGHT SAID A CATALYTIC CONVERTER...BUT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER DOES NOT NEED REPLACED. I HAVE HAVE MY SERPENTINE BELT REPLACED 7 TIMES IN THE LAST 3 YEARS. I CAN HEAR MY ENGINE SHIFTING ROUGHLY. IN THE MONTH I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE, I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO SEE WHAT WAS WRONG AND WHY MY RPM WAS GOING UP WHEN PARKED AND THE ENGINE WOULD STALL. THEY TOLD ME IF I DIDN'T USE THE DIFFERENT FUEL (WHICH I ONLY DID TWICE) THAT IT WOULD STOP. I WAS STUCK WITH THE CAR, AND STILL AM. MY 'GAS CAP' LIGHT HAS BEEN GOING ON AND OFF FOR YEARS. I HAD MY FUEL SYSTEM CHECKED AND A VALVE WAS REPLACED, SENSORS HAVE BEEN REPLACED. MY ENGINE NOW SOUNDS WORSE THAN EVER WITH KNOCKING, WHIRRING AND SHAKES ALMOST ALWAYS. WHEN THIS OCCURRED, I ONLY HAD A FEW SECONDS TO SLOWLY COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO GET OFF THE HIGHWAY. THE CAR WOULD NOT RESTART, AND I HAD TO CALL A WRECKER. THIS HAS NOW HAPPENED 5 TIMES. ALL OF MY TRIPS WERE LOCAL WHEN THE ENGINE STALLS OCCURRED, AND EACH STALL CAME WITHOUT ANY WARNING WHILE I WAS SIMPLY CRUISING DOWN A HIGHWAY OR A CITY STREET, AND NOT TRAVELING UP OR DOWN ANY SIGNIFICANT SLOPES. WHEN THE CAR ENGINE DIED, THE DASHBOARD INDICATORS ALL ILLUMINATED WHILE THE ENGINE WAS DYING. I HAVE HAD CHRYSLER SERVICE RESPOND TO THE SCENE IMMEDIATELY TO GET DIAGNOSTICS, AND THE CAR IS NOT THROWING OUT ANY DIAGNOSTIC CODES. WHEN THE ENGINE DIES, IT CAN BE RESTARTED AFTER THE CAR SITS FOR AWHILE... MAYBE A FEW HOURS. THE PCM (COMPUTER) WAS REPLACED AND ALL SOFTWARE PATCHES HAVE BEEN INSTALLED, BUT THAT DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM. THE CAR HAS BEEN IN THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP REPAIR SHOP OVER A MONTH NOW, WHILE THEY WAIT HOPEFULLY FOR A TECHNICAL WIZARD TO IMPART EXPLORATORY REPAIR MAGIC OVER THEIR STAR NETWORK. AFTER DRIVING A RENTAL FOR TWO WEEKS THAT CAME OUT OF MY POCKET THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMED THAT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM IN ORDER TO FIX IT.I WAS FORCED TO TAKE THE CAR BACK KNOWING THAT THE PROBLEM WAS NOT FIXED.THE RANDOM ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS PROGRESSED AND THE CAR IGNITION BEGAN HAVING SERIOUS ISSUES. ONCE THE KEY WAS TURNED TO 'OFF ' THE CAR WOULD RESTART AND THE INDICATOR LIGHT WOULD SAY 'KEY IN IGNITION' ALTHOUGH THE KEY HAD BEEN REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION. ON DECEMBER 15TH, 2014 I ATTEMPTED TO PUT THE KEY INTO THE IGNITION AND THE ENGINE DID NOT TURN OVER AT ALL.I REMOVED THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION AND THE ENGINE BEGAN TO MAKE THE SOUNDS AS IF IT WAS GOING TO TURN OVER AT LEAST 10 TIMES WHILE THE KEY WAS OUT OF THE IGNITION. ON JANUARY 15TH, 2015 I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE SERVICE REP AT THE DEALERSHIP. HE SAID THAT HE WAS ADVISED BY MY CASE MANAGER AT CHRYSLER CUSTOMER CARE TO CALL AND TELL ME THAT I HAD TO COME AND PICK UP MY CAR ALTHOUGH THE PROBLEM HAD NOT BEEN RESOLVED. I CHECKED ON LINE TO SEE IF THERE WERE ANY RECALLS ON MY 200. THERE IS AN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 13V043000 (FEB 06,2013) THAT IS CATEGORIZED AS FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. THIS MAY BE THE ISSUE BUT THE CHRYSLER DEALER DID NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THIS AS A RECALL FOR MY VEHICLE. THIS RECALL IS FOR A GAS TANK THAT HAS A BROKEN CONTROL VALVE IN THE FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY. I THINK THAT MY PROBLEM WITH THE CAR COULD BE ONE THAT WAS DISCOVERED TWO YEARS AGO ON 2011 CHRYSLER 200 WITH 3.6L V6 ENGINES. THE NHTSA OPENED AN INVESTIGATION INTO STALLING PROBLEMS ON JUNE 22, 2012. IT COVERED AN ESTIMATED 87,288 VEHICLES. CHRYSLER ANNOUNCED THEY HAD IDENTIFIED A POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) DEFECT IN THEIR 3.6L ENGINES. THE PCM WAS INITIATING A PURGE MONITOR CHECK WHILE THE ENGINE WAS AT IDLE OR SLOWING DOWN. THE PURGE RESULTED IN AN "OVERLY RICH VAPOR CONDITION THAT CAUSED THE ENGINE TO STALL". CHRYSLER DEVELOPED A SOFTWARE PATCH WHICH REPROGRAMS THE PCM. THIS IS A FACTORY PROBLEM AND IT WAS JUST IN AGAIN A 7TH TIME IN MAY 2014...IT HAPPENS ON THE FREEWAY AND MY WIFE REFUSES TO DRIVE THE CAR ANYMORE...I HAVE A NEW CAR, NOT EVEN A YEAR OLD AND LESS THAT 6000 MILES AND CANNOT GET THE TRANSMISSION TO WORK CORRECTLY...NOW THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR AND WINDOW RATTLES AND IS VERY ANNOYING...CAR HAS BEEN IN 2 TIMES FOR THAT...LOVE THE CAR BUT IT IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY AND IS VERY STRESSFUL AND DISTURBING TO ME AND MY WIFE BECAUSE WE ARE ALWAYS NERVOUS THAT THE PROBLEM COULD HAPPEN AGAIN AND LEAVE US IN DANGER. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER BUT WAS NEITHER DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,500 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 1,560. THIS VEHICLE DOES NOT DRIVE PROPERLY. THE RPMS RUN HIGH AND MANY TIMES DOES NOT SHIFT OUT OF 5 GEAR WHILE DRIVING AT HIGH SPEEDS. I HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS SINCE I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE, HOWEVER HAVE BEEN TOLD "THAT IS HOW THIS CAR DRIVES", "IT IS OK TO RED LINE YOUR CAR". AFTER SEVERAL COMPLAINTS THE DEALERSHIP GM FINALLY AGREED THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG AND THE "FLASHED" MY CAR. AFTER THAT I WAS GETTING 30 MPG HIGHWAY AND IT WAS SHIFTING WITHOUT ME HAVING TO TAKE MY FOOT OF THE GAS. LESS THEN 5,000 MILES LATER IT IS BACK TO THE WAY IT WAS. DEALERSHIP NOW SAYS IT IS FINE, YET I AM AVERAGING ON THE INTERSTATE 22 - 25 MPGS. I AM SO FRUSTRATED WITH THE SERVICE I AM RECEIVING. *TR

MALFUNCTION LIGHT CAME ON DURING DATE OF PURCHASE. TECH SAID THAT IT WAS DUE TO THE BATTERY BEING JUMP STARTED. LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN, AND CODE CAME BACK AS SMOKE SIGNAL...I WAS TOLD THAT THE SMOKE TEST PASSED. TOOK CAR TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP. THEY KEPT THE CAR FOR FIVE DAYS AND FOUND THE FOLLOWING ERRORS: SEAL FOR THE TRANS FILER MISSING, LEAKING ESIM. THE PROBLEMS WERE STATED AS FIXED. HOWEVER TO DATE, HOT OIL MESSAGE IS COMING ON. ALSO THE CAR IS CUTTING OFF SHORTLY AFTER ENGINE IS STARTED. CAR RATTLES WHEN AT A STOP LIGHT AND THEN SHUTS OFF. *JS

I BOUGHT MY 200 IN DECEMBER 2012. STARTING IN JANUARY, THE CAR IDLES VERY STRANGELY. WHEN I START THE CAR THE ENGINE RATTLES AS IF IT DOES NOT WANT TO START. THE BRAKES HAVE ALWAYS SQUEAKED AS IF THEY NEED TO BE REPLACED AND WHEN I ASKED THE DEALERSHIP, I WAS TOLD THAT THIS IS NORMAL AND EVERY CAR SQUEAKS. LASTLY, IT IS DIFFICULT TO DRIVE DURING THE EVENING TIME BECAUSE OF THE LOW LIGHTING. I DO NOT BELIEVE I WILL EVER BY CHRYSLER AGAIN BECAUSE THE CAR RUNS AS IF IT 60,000 MILES OLD.
