A couple of years ago my passenger head restraint deployed while parked and would not reset. I was charged $652.00 to re place. Chrysler later reimbursed me for this expense and extended my warranty for this for one year. Two days ago the driver side activated while the car was parked. That means the warrant extension had passed. Did some research and this is a common problem caused by the weakening of the plastic that is under pressure of the retaining springs. This problem not only affects the Chrysler 200, but 300s and several keep and Dodge vehicles manufactured between 2010 and 2015. It is just by the grace of God no one has been injured. Mileage was 78000 the first time and 106500 the second time
Head restraint deployed and seatbelt malfunction.
Traction control and power train light on dashboard, are blinking and the car itself will not accerlerate. This is the 2nd time in 3 months it has happened.
My wife and daughters almost died in a car accident due to the apparent failure of this vehicle. We were driving on an HWY at night and the car just died out of nowhere. Dash started to flash and just died. We initially thought that it was the mechanic that had just fixed the car but after an investigation concluded that it was not anything they could have done. My family sustained life-threatening injuries and almost did not make it out alive as thee were rear-ended by a truck. Then on top of it when they were hit no airbags deployed which is what caused the injuries to be so much worse. After reading multiple complaints on NHTSA about the same issue for the same year and make I am baffled that this issue has not been addressed. I almost lost my family.
Vehicle was at detail shop - parked. Employee moved seat to access back and drivers side head rest deployed. There was no collision. Unable to reset, as part is broken. Appears to be a major safety concern which could lead to an accident. I will be attempting to address this issue quickly as it represents a major safety problem. It is available for inspection for now. Had this happened while driving I believe an accident would have resulted. I will be contacting the dealer and an independent shop on Monday. At this time it has not been inspected by anyone official. No warning signs were noted.

WAS STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT WHEN MY PASSENGER AIRBAG DEPLOYED. CHRYSLER SAID THE PART ALONE WOULD BE $550 TO FIX - THIS SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, AND ULTIMATELY, SHOULD NOT EVEN BE HAPPENING. SOMEONE COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED! I'M PLANNING ON TRADING IN MY CAR IN THE NEXT COUPLE WEEKS TO AVOID MORE ISSUES LIKE THIS; TERRIBLE TERRIBLE COMPANY.

I COULD GET A LOANER CAR FOR THE DAYS THEY NEEDED THIS REPAIRS BECAUSE I DID NOT BUY MY CAR THERE. I NEED A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE FOR 2 DAYS BECAUSE I TRAVEL OUTSIDE THE AREA WITH MY JOB ALL THE TIME. RECALL S61. I PURCHASED MY CAR AT CARMAX IN 2017. TOOK IT IN LAST WEEK FOR RADIO. THEY SENT IT TO NEWARK CHRYSLER JEEP ON CLEVELAND AVE IN DE. WHILE IT WAS THERE I HAD ASK TO HAVE RECALLS FIX. ACCORDING TO MY PAPER WORK IT WAS COMPLETED ON JULY 5TH. WELL TODAY IS JULY 11TH AND IT STILL SAYS I HAVE THE SAME RECALL ON MY CAR. I CONTACT CARMAN THEY WENT AND PICK UP MY CAR AND TOOK IT TO BRANDYWINE CHRYSLER WHERE IT STILL IS. I HAVE PAPERWORK FROM NEWARK SAYING THEY FIX THE RECALL. I'M VERY MAD THAT IT SAYS ITS DONE BUT REALLY HASN'T. THIS IS A RECALL SOMETHING VERY SERIOUS AS TO THAT WITH SEATBELT. NO DEALERSHIP SHOULD EVER DO THIS. WAS OF NO HELP, THEIR SOLUTION WAS SPEND $255 TO CHANGE FROM DRIVER TO PASSENGER, ORDER A NEW HEAD REST $388 ON A THREE MONTH BACK ORDER AND ANOTHER $255 TO INSTALL ONCE ARRIVES. THERE IS INSTRUCTIONS TO RESET, BUT THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY TRIED TO RESET AND COULD NOT ACCOMPLISH. IF RESET, WOULD IT SPLIT APART AGAIN? FIRST I HAVE NOTICED MY CAR DELAYS AND JERKS WHEN PUTTING IT INTO GEAR. THIS HAPPENS MOSTLY IN THE WINTER. MORE RECENTLY MY CAR TRIED TO ACCELERATE A COUPLE TIMES WHILE MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE. I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT REPAIRED AND THEY STATED BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT MAKE THE CAR DO THE SAME THING, THEY COULD NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. SECOND THE RECALL ON THE AIR BAGS AND SEAT BELTS WAS FIRST PUBLISHED ALMOST A YEAR AGO. THIS IS MY ONLY VEHICLE AND I HAVE TWO CHILDREN THAT ARE PLACED IN THAT VEHICLE. I AM SCARED FOR THEM AS WELL AS ANYONE THAT IS IN MY CAR IF I AM TO GET INTO AN ACCIDENT. THIS IS FAR TOO LONG TO KNOW ABOUT A PROBLEM AND NOT FIX IT. THE DEALOR SAYS THEY HAVE RECEIVED THE PARTS YET. THY FURTHER STATE THAT THE COMPUTER HAS BEEN SET TO NOT DEPLOY. DO I HAVE TO SEEK LEGAL SERVICE TO RESOLVE?

AT APPROXIMATELY MY AIR BAG LIGHT HAS LIT UP, OFF AND ON FOR TWO WEEKS NOW. MY CAR WAS PURCHASED LAST YEAR IN JUNE. IT HAD 37K MILES WHEN BOUGHT AND NOW HAS 55K. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP WE BOUGHT IT FROM AND THEY DON'T SERVICE CHRYSLERS. I CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY SAID TOO BAD, WE CAN'T HELP YOU. MY WARRANTY JUST RAN OUT AND NOW I AM STUCK WITH OUT OF POCKET EXPENSES EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE NOT SURE WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. THEY SAID MY AIRBAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY IF IN AN ACCIDENT WHEN THIS LIGHT IS ON. I AM NOT SURE WHAT TO DO SINCE THIS IS OUR FAMILY VEHICLE. I HAVE SEEN WHERE OTHER YEAR, MAKE, AND MODELS HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS VERY REASON. PLEASE HELP.

I HAVE A 2014 CHRYSLER 200 TOURING. "TAKATA RECALL" MY AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON AND STAYS ON, I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY TOLD ME THAT SOMETHING HAS MALFUNCTIONED BUT REFUSED TO FIX IT. I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS PROBLEM SINCE MY CAR HAS REACHED 30,000 MILES. NOT ONLY THAT PROBLEM BUT MY ALTERNATOR HAS RECENTLY GONE OUT AT 50,000 MILES. I WILL DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND THIS VEHICLE TO NO ONE.

THE CEO IS TRYING TO GET ANOTHER CAR COMPANY TO MERGE WITH CHRYSLER BUT WHO WHATS TO PAY YOUR BILLS MR. CEO
WHEN WE WERE INVOLVED IN THE ACCIDENT, WE WERE GOING INTERSTATE SPEED IN NEBRASKA AT 80 MPH, WE HIT A LARGE ROAD SIGN THAT TOTALED OUR VEHICLE. OUR AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND I HAVE PHOTOS AND VIDEOS. ALSO MY CAR IS AT PERFORMANCE AUTO BODY SHOP IN LINCOLN NEBRASKA AND THE AIRBAGS WERE NOT DEPLOYED WHEN THE AUTO BODY SHOP RECEIVED THE VEHICLE.
