While driving, my 2016 Chrysler 200 (3.6L V6) experienced a sudden and complete electrical failure. All systems shut down simultaneously, including the dashboard, engine, power steering assist, and electrical accessories. The vehicle coasted to a stop and would not restart—no crank, no dash lights, no response. After allowing the vehicle to cool for approximately 30–45 minutes, electrical power returned and the vehicle restarted normally. This failure mode is identical to the Power Distribution Center (PDC) connector defect that resulted in a recall for the 2015 Chrysler 200. My vehicle is the same platform with the same component architecture, yet no recall exists for the 2016 model year. This is a serious safety defect that creates a risk of crash, loss of steering assist, and loss of vehicle control while driving.
UNKNOWN- I was driving and it was storming bad, I accidentally drove through this road that was flooded and my car then said throttle control and my car started to not drive as well then when I took a turn my car stopped and it would not move. I turned it off and it started going again, then when I was going up a hill while I trying to turn my car would not move, the vehicle stability indicator turned out and so many more signs, so then I tried to turn my car off again and it was stuck in drive and would not turn off, I wasn’t able to move the gears it was locked on drive but not moving so I had to disconnect my battery and then it started moving again, not safely but I made it home. Please what do I do
Vehicle has 46,000 miles on odometer. A year ago the "Service Airbag System" light would intermittently illuminate. It is now staying lit all the time. I was speaking with an acquaintance as they had the same vehicle. Theirs caught on fire under the seat in the electrical connection box for the airbag. I took it to a few of our local mechanics and they say it is a substantial safety issue as they pulled the codes B0028-13 and B0020-13. Right side and left side seat deployment squib circuit open. The airbags will not deploy upon impact. The consensus from the mechanics was that Chrysler has known this is a common problem in these vehicles and needs to address the repair. After calling Chrysler and finding out they do know this is a problem in design it will still cost $4000.00 to repair as it's not covered under warranty. This vehicle is unsafe and it makes me wonder how many people are driving these vehicles not knowing the potential danger. It will be going to the dealership when one of them can "fit me in".

I took my car to Carman Dodge Chrylser Dealer located 196 s Dupont hwy , new castle de, 19720. My car was scheduled for a recall repair u90 and power train software update. I took my car in 4-10-25 and it stayed overnight until 4-11-25. When receiving my car I was presented with new issues that caused a no bus code and radio died. My car had no internal issues prior to taking my car to the dealer for recall repairs. I have all the documentation and employees names for the service department. I was told by my advisor Lance Grey and supervisor Joseph Troboletti that there is nothing else they can do. Other than these new problems that occurred just so happened to be coincidental. And in order to get things replace I would have to wait until July and I may be eligible for a small discount on the parts. So that means I would have to wait 3 months to get repairs and drive a car with my children with no working windows , radio and etc.
The transmission jumped into neutral while going 65mph also indicating “service park brake” and “service transmission”. The vehicle slowing down almost caused another vehicle to rear end me as I was looking for a safe place to try and pull over. No one has inspected properly these vehicles despite numerous customer complaints of the same nature. The car had no lights on but afterwards the power train light came on.

My vehicle Chrysler 200 2016 has several car mechanical issues. The shifting gears. Rough shifting while driving.The affected vehicle would lurch through gears, and it would sometimes shut down or automatically shift to neutral. Grinding or a crunching sound. Clutch slips or doesn't “feel right” Burning smell or high engine revs. Car started rough, shifting and having transmission problems a year after we had it. Airbag sensor won’t turn off.
I believe the brake or something related to the brakes failed. I ran a stop sign, with no evidence of brake marks on the road. I crossed over a highway hit a side walk almost hit a house. The safety of myself and others was at extreme danger. When finally came to a stop I couldn't put my car in Park, or back in drive or shut my car off, i beleive i had no braking or something electrical failed. My car is totaled. The only light on was the airbag light before the accident.
Throttle- My car just shut off and won't turn back on I had a computer update last week and then a week later i shut the car off like normal and tried to turn it back on and it wouldn't do nothing. The Dealership did a pcm update of service bulletin 18-020-17 on 6-1-23. I had drove for 2.5hrs without any warning lights or anything suggesting a problem.
While backing up in my parking space, my car completly shut off. The steering was locked and the car would not start back up. I had to disconnect the battery to get it to restart

Electrical system under the seats smoked and went out for the air bags. Cost me $2,200 dollars out of pocket. I am on Social Security. Can't afford such dept. Brakes are sluggish and can't be trusted to stop quickly. Power Train ,Electrical System,Engine not safe. Electrical system, Service Brakes, Forward Collision Avoidance System needs to be looked at and replace if needed.
My car stalls when cranking and has shut down before while on the interstate. I think it’s an electrical problem no signs on the dashboard and saying key fob not detected
Car is stalling for unknown reason without any warning or light appearing on dash. Feeling unsafe especially when driving on the highway because I never know when it will happen. Has been happening every day for the past 3 days. Happened in the beginning after a couple months of having the car and the first time I took it in, they couldn't find anything wrong or replicate the problem.
Wire connector under the passenger seat disables the airbag and turns on the SRS light with the code B0028-13 Right side Airbag circuit open. I have noticed that FCA is aware of the problem as the fix is to replace the wire Connectors under the seat. As an alignment mechanic I am in and out of a lot of vehicles and just about all of the 2015 to 2017 Chrysler 200s I have worked on have this code, some also have B0020-13 which is the left side seat air bag circuit open.
Driving and the car just completely shuts off and/or malfunctions. It’s been when I’m slowing down to make a turn. The computer system/car shuts off and it’s impossible to get it turned back on for 1-4 minutes. Very dangerous and almost gotten into an accident twice now.
About 2 weeks ago , my car began malfunctioning and randomly shutting off while driving. The car gives no indication that there is an issue before hand which is dangerous. It has happened to me while entering the freeway and while on regular streets. In addition, when this happens, my gearshift somehow gets stuck which makes me unable to move the car. Sometimes I cannot turn the car off, it would get stuck running. The shift would malfunction illuminating other shifts even though it is stuck. This issue has happened to me again in the wee hours of this morning at 3am on a dark road. I feared for me life… I see that this is an ongoing issue in many complaints that I see but there has been no resolve from the manufacturer. Please help.
Airbag light has came on with dealership replacing the wiring harness under the seat twice. The light is now on for a third time. After online forum research, I learned that wiggling the wiring connections can get the connection back and airbag light to go away. It worked. Numerous complaints of loose wiring. Purchased the vehicle brand new currently with 125k miles. First repair was free. Second was out of warranty and I had to pay for parts.
The Chrysler 200's engine keeps suddenly shutting off while driving, mainly while making turns on streets and freeway on/off ramps. There are no warning lights, sounds, or visual cues to indicate any sort of problem. Sometimes the vehicle may just stall, most other times it just turns off and asks that I switch the shifter to park to then turn the vehicle back on. This issue is very concerning as it’s dangerous for the vehicle to shut down in traffic and could prove fatal.

The airbag light comes on constantly, it puts MYSELF or anyone who is in my car at risk. It says to check the airbag and the wiring under the seat is the problem. It's loose. I constantly have to wiggle it for it to go away and a dealership wants to charge 300 dollars for a diagnosis and repair. If I crash, I feel as if the airbag will not deploy and it seems a lot of people online have the same issue when googling the problems.
My car gave me a service airbag message when I started it on July 31st. I already had an appointment scheduled with a Chrysler dealer to resolve an unrelated recall issue, so I asked them to look into what was causing the airbag issue, as well. They told me that the jumper wiring needed to be replaced on both sides of the vehicle in order to resolve diagnostic code B0020-13. They quoted me over $2,800.00 to fix the issue and told me that my airbags would not go off if I were to get in an accident unless the repairs were made. I am unable to afford this, so I contacted FHA customer service to seek cost assistance, but was told my car is too far out of warranty. My car only has 78,000 miles, so I should not have any safety issues with it. I was told by the technician that this is a common problem with my vehicle. Seeing as this is a safety issue and it is a common issue, I believe it is worth investigating to determine if it is caused by a manufacturing defect. I, like most people, cannot afford this costly of a repair, so I am putting my life at risk each time I drive my car, which I now know will not deploy the safety bags if I get in an accident. To make matters worse, I had to pay a $150.00 diagnostics fee just to find this out.
3 ongoing problems. 1. Our car dies while driving. This is Dangerous. Tonight is the 3rd (maybe 4th) time in about a year or year and a half or so. The first two times modesto jeep dodge chrysler determined it was too low on oil (but the mileage was much less than when oil change was due according to my oil change sticker. Also very dangerous because there is never an oil light that comes on the dashboard to warn oil low. About 3 months ago it died 500 miles before oil change supposed to be due. Tonight it died again with no warning. Oil change is not supposed to be due for another 1000 miles. Very scary. No warning light. 2. After I'm stopped at a stop sign or light then during acceleration car jerks. 3. I've had this car about 3 years. The airbag light came on shortly after I owned the car. Never been in an accident in this car.
My service airbag light comes on and off frequently. sometimes it'll be on when i start my car, and the it'll turn off again when i make a turn, adjust my seat, etc. its a strong belief that im having the underseat wire harness issue that many others are having. i have yet to take it to a mechanic to have it looked at as i don't readily have the money to repair an issue, especially considering I've seen a few people say they have this issue addressed repeatedly. this is a major safety concern and i fear if i happen to get into an accident that my airbag will not deploy because of it.

WHEN I ACCELERATE FROM A STOP SIGN OR FROM A STOPPED POSITION THE VECHICLE WILL REV HIGH AND NOT PICK UP SPEED. IT WILL STALL IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION OR AS I AM DRIVING. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN MARCH 2016. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS BEING STARTED, THE CAR ENGINE AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FLICKERS UNCONTROLLABLY. ALL OF THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH BOARD GOES OFF AND ON THE DIALS GOES UP AND DOWN. THE ENGINE SHACKS AS IT WOULD LIKE TO START BUT DOESN'T. IT WOULD TAKE UP TO 2 TO 3 TIMES TO RESTART THE CAR TO WORK PROPERLY. RECENTLY APRIL 2, 2021, AS I WAS DRIVING MAJORITY OF THE LIGHTS CAME ON, TRANSMISSION, PARKING BRAKE, ABS LIGHTS CAME ON. THE POWER STEERING IS NOT FULLY FUNCTIONAL AND THE TRANSMISSION IS NOT REACTING NORMALLY. AS I ACCELERATE DURING TGIS TIME THE TRACTION CONTROL SYMBOL FLASHES AND YHE CAR HAS DIFFICULTY PICKING UP SPEED. THE CAR HAS A INCREASINGLY DIFFICULT TIME ACCELERATING. IF I WERE TO ACCELERATE TOO QUICKLY THE VEHICLE WILL REV HIGH AND THE FEARS WILL NOT CATCH PROPERLY.

MY CAR WILL NOT RECOGNIZE MY KEY FOB. ALL THE LIGHTS IN MY CAR WILL LIGHT UP ON THE INSIDE BUT IT WILL NOT UNLOCK. IF I UNLOCK IT WITH THE ACTUAL KEY IN THE DOOR, THE ALARM WILL GO OFF. I WILL BE DRIVING AND MY CAR WILL NOTIFY MY THAT MY KEY FOB HAS LEFT THE VEHICLE WHEN IT CLEARLY HAS NOT. I HAVE HAD THE KEY FOB REPLACED AND CHANGED BATTERIES IN BOTH KEY FOBS THAT I OWN. I HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT I NEED ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION MOUNTS DUE TO JERKINESS IN CAR. I HAVE ALSO HAD ISSUES WITH THE CAR SHUTTING OFF AT LIGHTS, OR ANY DRIVING SITUATION WHERE I MAY BE AT STANDSTILL WAITING TO PROCEED. EX: TRAFFIC CLEARING OR WAITING FOR PARKING SPACE. I BOUGHT MY CAR IN SEPTEMBER 2019 AROUND 25000 MILES. IN OCTOBER THE SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON . I TOOK IT TO CHRYSLER AND JEEP WHO CHARGED OVER $3300 TO FIX . THEY SAID THEY TALKED TO CHRYSLER WHO WOULD COVER $3000 AND I HAD TO PAY THE $300. I DID THAT AND THE LIGHT IS BACK ON. IT POPS UP EVER COUPLE MINUTES WHILE I'M DRIVING AND IT DOESN'T MATTER IF I'M GOING 15 MPH OR 60 MPH.

CARS TIPN NEEDS REPLACED AFTER 35,000 MILES. CAR INITIALLY SET ALL DASH LIGHTS OFF, ONE FRONT AND ONE REAR LED LIGHT REMAINED ON EVEN AFTER KEY WAS TAKEN OUT AND NEVER WENT OUT LEADING TO DEAD BATTERY. THE CAR DIED ON ME WHILE DRIVING IT ABOUT 20MPH AS I WAS ATTEMPTING TO PULL OUT ONTO ROADWAY CAUSING NEAR ACCIDENT. BEEN WITHOUT A CAR FOR LAST 3 WEEKS WHILE TRYING TO GET DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR. TOTAL COST FROM GOING TO SEVERAL REPAIR SHOPS TO GET DIAGNOSIS AND PART TO REPLACE IT IS ESTIMATED TO COST $1500-2000 WHICH I CANT AFFORD. I AM MAKING PAYMENTS ON A CAR THAT I CANT EVEN DRIVE. I AM A COLLEGE STUDENT AND THIS WAS MY FIRST PURCHASE OF A CAR WITH MY OWN MONEY. THIS PART NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. I HAVE READ MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS WITH THE SAME ISSUE . ALL ELECTRICAL LIGHTS CAME ON ALONG WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THERE WAS NO POWER WHEN TRYING TO GET THE VEHICLE BACK HOME. IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN TOWED.

THE CAR HAS TO MUCH TORQUE THAT THE VEHICLE SLIDES AND LOSES CONTROL AND ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. THE STEERING IS TO LOSE WHEN I TURN IT MOVES TO QUICK AND THE MOVEMENT OF THE VEHICLE CAN'T CATCH UP.
VEHICLE WENT IN FOR AN AIRBAG LIGHT TWICE RIGHT BEFORE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY EXPIRED AT 75K MILES. THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMS TO HAVE REPLACED A WIRING HARNESS UNDER THE PASSENGER SEAT BOTH TIMES. JUST SLIGHTLY OVER 75K MILES, THE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. THIS TIME THEY ADVISED THE WHOLE WIRING SYSTEM NEEDS REPLACED AND THAT IT WON'T BE COVERED. GOT IN TOUCH WITH CHRYSLER DIRECTLY WHO STATED THEY ARE WILLING TO ONLY PAY FOR THE $1200+ PART BUT THAT I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR APPROXIMATELY $400 IN LABOR. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION EACH TIME THE LIGHT CAME ON. TYPICALLY WHEN ENCOUNTERING A SLIGHT BUMP ON THE INTERSTATE. SAFFORD JEEP CHRYSLER RAM IN WINCHESTER VA IS THE DEALERSHIP THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW AND CONTINUED SERVICE AT THE SAME LOCATION. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN FOR 2 WEEKS NOW AND CURRENTLY THERE AT THIS TIME. ACCORDING TO A BRIEF INTERNET SEARCH, THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON COMPLAINT YET NO RECALLS HAVE BEEN ISSUED. IF THIS CAN BE SETTLED IN ANY MANNER, I RESPECTFULLY REQUEST THAT CHRYSLER PROVIDE A REFUND FOR WHAT I'M ABOUT TO PAY TO GET MY VEHICLE BACK UP AND RUNNING.

THIS TIRE LIGHT REMAINS A PROBLEM. NOW, THE VEHICLE WILL NOT GO UPHILL WITHOUT STALLING AND WILL NOT RUN WHEN IT RAINS. DECEMBER 2016 2ND TIME DOING THE SHIFT INTO PARK UPON ENTERING HIGHWAY 16 STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO MOVE OUT OF HARMS WAY TO SHIFT INTO PARK. FEBRUARY SAME INCIDENT ON HIGHWAY 16 RIGHT BEFORE MERGING ON TO INTERSTATE 5 SOUTH. CAR DOESN'T RESTART WHEN PRESSING ENGINE START. I HAVE TO SIT FOR 5-6 MINUTES BEFORE CAR TURNS ON AND THE. DRIVE UNTIL IT ATTEMPTS AGAIN. I E TAKING IT TO THE DEALER THEY DON'T SEE THE PROBLEM AFTER RESETTING THE COMPUTER AND GETTING AN OIL CHANGE CAR STILL TURNS OFF WHILE DRIVING. I'VE TAKING IT BACK ON MAY 2017 CAR STILL DOING THE SHIFT INTO PARK LOCKING WHEEL AND TURNING ENGINE OFF. AFTER BEING WITH THE DEALER AGAIN NOT ONLY DOES IT SHIFT INTO PARK IT'S NOW OVER HEATING. I BOUGHT THE CAR AS THE FIRST OWNER WITH 10 MILES

PURCHASED MY CAR NEW IIT HAS BEEN ABOUT 8 MONTHS WHILE ENTERING THEY HIGHWAY THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF ON ME AS THE GEAR PANEL FLASHED P FIRST AN AIRBAG FAILURE LIGHT CAME ON THEN EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHT THEN TIRE PRESSURE THE WHEEL DID NOT LOCK UP I WAS ABLE TO COAST OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY BECAUSE THERE WAS HEAVY TRAFFIC WHICH IS LIKELY WHAT SAVED ME FROM BEING HIT ALL WARNING LIGHTS WENT OFF AFTER 30 SECONDS EXPECT NOW THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON I WAS ABLE TO START THE CAR AGAIN AND GO HOME I HAVE SINCE TAKEN THE CAR IN AND THEY COULD NOT FIND NOR REPEAT THE PROBLEM AT THE DEALER IF IT WASN'T FOR HEAVY HIGHWAY TRAFFIC I WOULD HAVE BEEN INJURED OR DIED

WENT TO A STORE WITH A HEAVILY SLOPED PARKING LOT. APPROXIMATELY 15 TO 20 DEGREES. PARKED CAR AND WENT IN SIDE, RETURNED TO THE CAR, STARTED, AND PLACED CAR IN REVERSE, LOOKED BEHIND ME FOR PEDESTRIANS AND NOTICE SOME PEOPLE DOWN A LITTLE WAYS.. PROCEEDED TO CAREFULLY PULL OUT OF THE SLOPPING PARKING SPACE IN REVERSE. APPLIED SLIGHT PRESSURE TO BRAKE PEDAL TO SHIFTED CAR INTO DRIVE. REMOVED FOOT FROM BRAKE TO APPLY FOOT TO GAS PEDAL WITH A LITTLE MORE PRESSURE THAN USUAL DUE TO THE SLOP, TO KEEP CAR FROM ROLLING BACKWARDS.. THE CAR KEEP ROLLING IN REVERSE DUE TO THE DECLINING SLOP OF THE PARKING LOT. CAR DID NOT ENGAGE INTO DRIVE AND THE ENGINE REVVED UP TO HIGH RPMS AND IF NOT FOR A FAST REACTION FROM ME RETURNING MY FOOT TO BRAKE AFTER REALIZING WHAT WAS GOING ON, I COULD OF EASILY RAN INTO THE PEOPLE THAT I NOTICED EARLIER. NOT GOOD! WHEN I PUT MY FOOT ON THE GAS PEDDLE TO STOP THE CAR, THE CAR WENT INTO GEAR AND THE CAR SHOOK VIOLENTLY DUE TO THE HIGH RPMS. THE PEOPLE IN THE PARKING LOT WERE ALSO STARTLED. THIS IS THE PRIMARY CAR FOR MY WIFE AND I ASKED HER IF THE CAR HAS NOT GONE INTO GEAR BEFORE. TO MY ASTONISHMENT SHE SAID ONCE. THIS CAR NOW SITS IN THE GARAGE AWAITING THE CHRYSLER DEALER TO PICK IT UP 27,997 MILES. THIS KIND OF PROBLEM COULD EASILY DO HARMFUL BODILY INJURY TO A PEDESTRIANS OR MY WIFE. .

WE HAVE ALMOST BEEN IN 5 OR MORE ACCIDENTS BECASUE THE CAR BEHIND US HAS NO IDEA MY CAR HAS STOPPED WHILE GOING 65 MPH AND CAR JUST DIES. WE HAVE BEEN IN TOUCH WITH THE DEALER THEY HAVE TRIED FIXING THIS CAR AT LEAST 5 TIMES AS OF NOW WE HAVE HAS THEIR RENTAL FOR CAR FOR OVER 35 DAYS MY VEHICLE HAS 19,000 WE BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW. ALSO WOULD LIKE TO GO ON RECORD IF ANYTHING HAPPENS TO ME OR MY CHILDREN BECAUSE OF THIS DEFECT I GAVE THE DEALERSHIP MANY CHANCES TO FIX THEY HAVE EVEN CALLED SOMEONE FROM OUT OF TOWN TO FIX AND I'M STILL WAITING I DO NOT WANT TO DIE OR GET INJURED DUE TO THIS PROBLEM ALSO THE PROBLEM STARTED AT 306 MILES AND HAS NOT BEEN FIXED YET

I STEPPED ON THE GAS AND LOST ALL POWER (ELECTRICAL), FOLLOWED BY ENGINE STALL BEHAVIOR, POWER LOSS, STALL BEHAVIOR, THEN TRANSMISSION KNOB LIGHT FLASHES "D" AND INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SAYS TO SELECT GEAR AGAIN. WAS NEARLY REAR ENDED AND/OR T-BONED BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC. DEALER PERFORMED 4 FLASH UPDATES TODAY.

THEREALLY IS A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WITH THIS CAR. MY CAR JERKS EVERYDAY WHEN SHIFTING FROM PARK TO DRIVE AND IT HESITATES. I TOOK TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE AND WAS TOLD IT IS SUPPOSED TO DRIVE LIKE THAT UNTIL THE CAR IS ADJUSTED TO MY DRIVING STYLE. ALSO, ONEW DAY I WAS DRIVING AND OUT OF NOWHERE IN LOSE TOTAL POWER IN THE CAR. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG. I HAVE A 7 YEAR OLD WHO RIDES WITH ME EVERYDAY. THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHRYSLER 200. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HOT AIR BLEW FROM VENTS WHEN THE AIR CONDITIONER WAS ACTIVATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN ADDED FREON BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUSE BOX NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, BUT STATED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 250.
