TAKATA RECALL - I WENT TO THE AUTOMAX CHRYSLER DEALER IN SHAWNEE OKLAHOMA IN 2015 TO HAVE THE AIR BAG REPLACED. THEY DIDN'T HAVE ONE, AND PUT ME ON A LIST. IN 2016 I AGAIN RECIEVED A RECALL NOTICE ON THE TAKATA RECALL, AND ENTERED THIS VEHICLE IN THE ONLINE LIST TO HAVE IT EXPEDITED. I'VE NOT YET RECEIVED NOTICE OF AN AVAILABLE AIRBAG. I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED THE CHRYSLER AND IN AUTOMAX FOR NTO FOLLOWING UP TO ENSURE THAT I'M SAFELY REPAIRED.
I PURCHASED THIS CAR, NEW, ON 06/05/2004 FROM ALEXANDER CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP IN GADSDEN, AL. WE LIVED IN LEESBURG, AL AT THE TIME. WE MOVED TO CAMP HILL, AL IN 2014. THE FIRST TIME I RECEIVED THE AIR BAG NOTICE I CONTACTED OUR CLOSEST DEALER, BICE MOTORS IN DADEVILLE, AL THEY TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE TO BE PUT ON A "WAITING LIST" AND THAT THEY WOULD "CALL ME." I DID NOT WRITE DOWN THE NAME THAT DAY BUT WAS TOLD THEY HAD TO TEND TO THEIR CUSTOMERS FIRST. ON MAY 15, 2017 I CALLED AND SPOKE W/[XXX]. HE TOLD ME THEY HAD NOT RECEIVED ENOUGH AIRBAGS AND HAD TO PUT PEOPLE ON A WAITING LIST AND SURVIVED THEM ACCORDING TO THEIR NUMBER IN LINE. I CALLED BACK ON 06.14.17 AND SPOKE WITH [XXX]. I TEST DROVE THE CAR AND IT DROVE FINE . WHEN I WAS DRIVING IT HOME IT STOPED TWICE. ONCE WHEN I STOPED TO GET GAS. I GOT HELP FROM ANOTHER DRIVER . I GOT IT JUMPED BUT IT TOOK A WHILE TO GET IT TO START. AFTER THAT I WAS GOING STRAIGHT HOME . IT STOPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY. THIS TIME IT WOULD NOT START AND THE DRIVER SEATBELT CAME OFF . I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED HOME. SENSE THEN IT HAS NOT TURNED ON. IM NOT SURE IF THERE MORE PROBLEMS YET THE DEALER DID NOT INFORM ME ANYTHING ABOUT THESE PROBLEMS.

THE VEHICLE PULLS TO THE RIGHT, AFTER BEING FIXED IT PULLED TO THE LEFT. T HE TALKED TO THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT THE AIR BAG LIGHT COMING ON. THEY PUT IT ON A MACHINE. DT: THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHRYSLER 300C. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A REAR END ACCIDENT ON JULY 22, 2005 WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH. UPON IMPACT, AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE FRONT END WAS DAMAGED, LIGHTS AND RADIATOR WERE PUSHED INTO THE ENGINE. THE CONTACT WAS THE ONLY OCCUPANT IN THE VEHICLE, AND WAS WEARING SEAT BELTS. THERE WAS PROPERTY DAMAGE IN EXCESS OF $8000. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER BECAUSE IT WAS NOT DRIVABLE. WHEN HE CONTACTED THE DEALER THE FOLLOWING MONDAY THE DEALER TOLD THE CONTACT THAT THE AIR BAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. HE CONTACTED CHRYSLER TO LAUNCH AN INVESTIGATION. CHRSYLER DID SENT AN INDEPENDENT INVESTIGATOR. HE RECEIVED TWO LETTERS, ONE STATED THAT THEY WHERE NOTIFIED, AND THE SECOND SAID THAT THERE WAS NOT ENOUGH DAMAGE TO THE CAR, AND THAT THE CONCLUSION WAS THE COMPUTER BECAUSE IT DISCLOSED NO CODES. THIS WAS THE SECOND CAR OF THIS MODEL THAT HE OWNED. THE FIRST CAR HAVD PROBLEMS WITH THE AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATING, BUT AT THE DEALERSHIP IT DISPLAYED NO CODES. *AK

THE NEXT DAY HIS WIFE PARKED VEHICLE IN THE PARKING LOT WHERE SHE WORKED. 30 MINUTES LATER, THE MANAGER OF THE BUILDING CALLED CONTACT WIFE'S OFFICE INFORMING HER THERE WAS A CAR ON FIRE IN THE PARKING LOT. FLAMES CAME OUT OF THE ENGINE BLOCK. THE CAR WAS TOTALLY DESTROYED IN LESS THAN 24 HOURS AFTER PURCHASING IT. THE CAR PARKED NEXT TO CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED, AS WELL AS 2 OR 3 OTHER CARS WERE DAMAGED. HE CONTACTED DAIMLER/CHRYSLER, AND THEY WERE GOING TO SEND SOMEONE TO LOOK AT THE CAR. THE DEALER AGREED TO GIVE CONTACT A LOANER VEHICLE. CONTACT DID NOT NOTICE ANY DEFECT WITHIN THE CAR PRIOR TO THE FIRE. THIS WAS REPORTED TO THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND POLICE DEPARTMENT. CONTACT HAD PICTURES OF THE CAR. HE SAID THAT DEALER INSTALLED A PASSIVE ALARM SYSTEM WITH AN IGNITION KILL, A REMOTE START FEATURE, COULD START THE CAR WITHOUT THE KEY. A LO-JACK ANTI THEFT SYSTEM WAS INSTALLED. ALSO, THE CAR INCLUDED A NAVIGATION SYSTEM, POWER ADJUSTED GAS AND BRAKE PEDALS, SELF SEALING TIRES, AND SIDE/CURTAIN AIR BAGS . ABOUT 2 WEEKS LATER THE CAR WAS RED LINING, NOT SHIFTING AND STALLING ON HER. WE BROUGHT THE CAR TO EATONTOWN CHRYSLER IN WHICH THEY FOUND A TRANSMISSION SOLENOID TO BE BAD AND REPLACED IT. WE THEN STARTED TO EXPERIENCE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS SUCH AS REAR WINDOW NOT WORKING ALL THE TIME AND AIR BAG LIGHT SOMETIMES FLASHING ON AND OFF WHILE DRIVING AND AGAIN HESITATION WHEN STATING FROM STOP. ALSO THE MOON ROOF INTERIOR SHADE OPENS TO ABOUT AN INCH AFTER DRIVING TO VEHICLE FOR ABOUT A WEEK. WE CONTACTED FREEHOLD CHRYSLER ABOUT THESE PROBLEM AND THE PREVIOUS WHEEL ALIGNMENT AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR MAY 3, 2005. NOW ITS MAY 8TH AND WE HAVE APPROX. 20,000 ON THE VEHICLE AND WE ARE BEING TOLD THE WHEEL ALIGNMENT WAS COMPLETED BASED ON A SERVICE BULLETIN AND AT NO COST TO US, EVEN THOUGH WE PAID $95.00 ORIGINALLY, AND THE REST OF THE PROBLEMS CANNOT BE DUPLICATED AND THERE'S NOTHING ELSE THEY COULD DO. I CONTACTED THE CHRYSLER CORP. SERVICE CENTER AT 18009921997 AND SPOKE TO NUMEROUS PEOPLE IN REFERENCE TO THESE PROBLEMS AND WAS TOLD TO TAKE THE CAR TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP AND THERE'S NOTHING ELSE THAT THEY COULD DO.
