My car threw itself in neutral twice in the highway going home.
goes into 4th gear and will not shift up or down DTC P1DD2 gas leaking from sending unit area and fan wont kick on untilk 230F also has electrical problems
Esc off light comes on and transmission does not shift has loss of power gets extremely bad gas mileage. Whole engine shakes and bucks as if misfiring., cruise control nor sport mode engage.
Was on my way home from work and car completely lost power as I was preceding to go after stopping at a stop sign. I was LITERALLY in the middle of the road. Car wouldn't crank AT ALL. Engine started OVERHEATING causing smoke to disburse from engine. NO WARNING LIGHTS before this occurred. A big truck was coming down the road and I had to exist the vehicle. Luckily a car wasn't in the other lane so the truck went on the other side of the road. I was terrified! I called 911 to get a deputy dispatch to direct traffic around my car to avoid mutiple COLLISION. I had to have my vehicle towed. I never want another Chrysler again these cars are UNSAFE. I could have died what if my child was in the car?! I took my car to a mechanic to put on computer scanner and it gave off SEVEN codes ALL due to ELECTRICAL ISSUES! CAR IS APPARENTLY STUCK IN LIMP MODE IDK I'M SO CONFUSED AND DISAPPOINTED. I reported the issue to Chrysler recall line and they did NOTHING.

THE ALL WHEEL DRIVE WILL NOT WORK DESPITE HAVING BEEN TAKING INTO THE DEALER THREE (3) TIMES FOR DIAGNOSIS /SERVICING SINCE APPROXIMATELY NOV, 2018. THE DEALER EVEN HAD IT FOR 10 DAYS WHILE WE WERE ON VACATION DURING XMAS, 2019 AND SUPPOSEDLY COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM DURING THE "SEVERAL" TIMES THEY TRIED. IN REALLY SLICK, SNOWY CONDITIONS, THE SERVICE AWD LIGHT WILL COME ON, BUT ONCE I'VE TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON, IT DOESN'T COME ON AGAIN UNTIL THE NEXT SLICK, SNOWY EVENT. THE DEALER'S ONLY SUGGESTION IS NEW TIRES WHICH DOESN'T HELP IF THE FRONT TIRES WON'T ENGAGE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PUT INTO DRIVE. WHEN THE AWD ISSUE OCCURS, THE VEHICLE IS ALSO DIFFICULT TO STOP WHEN SLOWING DOWN AND DIFFICULT TO START WHEN TAKING OFF. PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AND OFF FOR ABOUT 24 HOURS, THEN STAYED OFF FOR 1-2 DAYS. NOW IT STAYS ON CONSISTENTLY (WHETHER IN PARK OR DRIVE). THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT HAS BEEN ON CONSISTENTLY SINCE FEB, 2020. THIS WAS TAKEN IN AND REPAIRED FOR THE PASSENGER AIRBAG RECALL IN APPROXIMATELY JAN, 2019

I WAS TRAVELING DOWN A BUSY STREET IN ATLANTA. I CAME TO A STOP SIGN AND WHEN I TRIED TO CONTINUE THROUGH THE INTERSECTION, THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. THE ENGINE WAS REEVING UP HIGH BUT THE CAR WAS NOT MOVING. IT ALSO WOULD NOT LET ME PUT THE CAR IN PARK. I HAD TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND AFTER A FEW MINUTES I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR AND CONTINUE ON MY TRIP. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES.

I HAD A RECALL PERFORMED AT THE DEALER FOR THE SHIFTER RECALL IN FOR WHICH THEY PERFORMED A REPROGRAM THAT WOULD SUPPOSEDLY KEEP THE CAR FROM ROLLING IF THE DRIVERS DOOR WAS OPENED AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS NOT PUT IN PARK. WELL HERE'S WHAT HAPPENED. AFTER THE REPROGRAM WHENEVER THE DRIVERS DOOR IS OPENED WHILE THE CAR IS RUNNING AND IN GEAR IT JUMPS INTO PARK WHICH IS BAD FOR THE DRIVELINE. I GUESS THAT'S HOW IT WAS RECONFIGURED. I WAS USE TO THE OLD WAY BECAUSE WHEN I PULL INTO MY DRIVEWAY I ALWAYS OPEN THE DOOR TO SEE HOW CLOSE I AM TO THE EDGE OF THE DRIVEWAY. (I HAVE TO DO THIS TO LEAVE ENOUGH ROOM FOR MY WIFE TO GET IN AND OUT OF THE GARAGE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE CAR) HAVING OVER 45 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN THE AUTOMOTIVE FIELD AS A TECHNICIAN AND TECHNICAL TRAINER I CAN SAY THIS IS ONE OF THE DUMBEST THINGS I HAVE SEEN. WHAT THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE WAS TO REPROGRAM IT SO THAT IF YOU OPENED THE DOOR WITH YOUR SEATBELT OFF THEN THE CAR SHOULD GO INTO PARK BECAUSE YOU COULD STEP OUT WHILE THE CAR WAS IN GEAR. YOUR NOT GETTING OUT OF THE CAR WITH YOUR SEATBELT ON SO THERE'S NO NEED FOR THE TRANSMISSION TO JUMP INTO PARK THE OTHER THING THAT HAPPENS IS WHEN YOU PLACE THE SHIFTER IN PARK AND PUSH THE START BUTTON TO TURN OFF THE CAR SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T GO TO OFF IT GOES TO ACCESSORY AND YOU EITHER HAVE TO RESTART THE CAR THEN TURN IT OFF OR PUSH THE START BUTTON WITH YOUR FOOT OFF THE BRAKE TO TURN THE IGNITION ON THEN BACK OFF. IT NEVER DID THIS BEFORE THEY PERFORMED THE RECALL. I WISH I NEVER TOOK THE CAR IN FOR THE RECALL. IN FACT I PROBABLY WONT TAKE MY CAR IN FOR ANY MORE RECALLS ILL TAKE MY CHANCES JUST THE WAY IT IS.

LAST WEEK I PULLED INTO MY DRIVEWAY, SHIFTED INTO PARK AND REACHED FOR A PACKAGE ON FLOOR. WHILE REACHING CAR ROLLED FORWARD HITTING CORNER OF BRICK GARAGE KNOCKING BRICK WORK LOOSE AND SNAPPING GARAGE DOOR CABLE ON RIGHT SIDE OF DOOR.BRICKWORK MUST BE TAKEN DOWN AND REINSTALLED. RETURNED HOME TO PICK UP AND DROP MY GIRLFRIEND OFF AT WORK APPROX. 20-25 MILES AWAY. MADE IT THERE WITH NO ISSUES. I PULL AWAY FROM HER JOB TURN A FEW CORNERS I SUDDENLY HEAR A FAINT WHINING THE STEADILY GREW LOUDER AND BEGAN TO SMELL ELECTRICAL BURNING. I STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT POPPED THE HOOD LOOKED AT THE ENGINE SAW NOTHING BUT STILL SMELLED ELECTRICAL BURNING. GOT BACK IN THE CAR TURNED THE CAR OFF THEN ON AGAIN AND PULLED OFF. 5 MILES FROM MY GIRLFRIENDS JOB I'M BACK ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 60-65 THE CAR IS STILL WHINING THE ELECTRONICS STARTED TO FLICKER EVERYTHING THE NEEDLES EVERYTHING JUST KEPT FLASHING OR FAILED UNTIL THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP I COULDN'T BREAK OR GAS BUT THE CAR WAS STILL ON AND MOVING. I WAS ONLY ABLE TO SLOWLY WORK MY WAY TO THE SHOULDER WHERE I APPLIED THE EMERGENCY BREAK TO STOP THE CAR COMPLETELY. I TRIED JUMPING THE CAR BUT THE WIRES MELTED WHICH CAUSED A LITTLE ALARM BECAUSE THE CABLES WHERE CONNECTED CORRECTLY. GOT A TOW HOME. ON MY OWN I REMOVED THE BATTERY WENT TO HAVE IT CHARGED IT WOULD NOT HOLD A CHARGE I BOUGHT A NEW ONE. OVER $200. UPON CONNECTING THE NEW BATTERIES NEG CONNECTION WHICH I DID AFTER CONNECTING THE POS. CONNECTOR I EXPERIENCED A HUGE AMOUNT OF SPARKING WHICH ACTUALLY ATE AWAY SUM OF THE BATTERIES NEG. CONNECT...YES ATE THE METAL KNOB...MEDAL PIECES LIKE DUST AROUND IT NOW BUT I DON'T THINK I DAMAGED THE BATTERY. I CHECKED THE GROUNDING IT WAS ALL GOOD OR SO IT SEEMED. I REMOVED THE ALTERNATOR TOOK IT TO AUTO ZONE BUT UNFORTUNATELY IT HAS TO BE TESTED IN THE VEHICLE WITH THE CAR RUNNING...WHICH I CLEARLY CANNOT START. IVE SET UP APPOINTMENTS ONLINE TO HAVE IT FIXED BUT NOBODY NOT EVEN CHRYSLER HAS THE PARTS YET...BEEN 2 MONTHS. I'M JUST WAITING.

MY BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON WHEN I WAS LEAVING THE GROCERY STORE. ABOUT A MILE AWAY I STOPPED AT STOPLIGHT AT A BUSY INTERSECTION ON THE HIGHWAY AND DASH LIGHTS STARTED COMING ON AND OFF, RADIO AND AC COMING ON AND OFF AND THEN CAR DIES AND WILL NOT RESTART. AFTER 5 OR 10 MINUTES GET IT RESTARTED AND WILL BARELY MOVE. LUCKILY THERE WAS AN AUTO PARTS STORE JUST AROUND THE CORNER. WHEN I PULL IN THE PARKING LOT, CAR WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF DRIVE, WILL NOT SHUT OFF, WIND SHIELD WIPERS COME ON AND WON'T GO OFF, GAUGES ALL GOING CRAZY AND HAVE TO USE EMERGENCY BRAKE SO MY CAR WON'T RUN THROUGH THE FRONT OF THE STORE WHILE I GO INTO STORE TO GET HELP. THE GUY HOOKS UP TO DIAGNOSTIC DEVICE AND IT GIVES A READ ERROR. (HOOKS UP TO ANOTHER CAR AND NO ERROR). FINALLY GET CAR TO SHUT OFF AFTER ABOUT 20 MINUTES. HE TESTS BATTERY AND COMES BACK LOW. NEW $200 BATTERY AND STARTS UP FINE, EVERYTHING WORKING AGAIN. PULL OUT OF PARKING LOT AND START SMELLING SOMETHING BURNING, SMOKE COMING THROUGH VENTS, WEIRD SOUND. PULL OVER AND SAME THINGS HAPPEN - GAUGES GOING CRAZY, WIPERS ON, WON'T SHIFT OUT OF DRIVE, WON'T TURN OFF. GET OUT OF CAR AND TAKE KEY OUT WITH ME AND WIPERS COME ON. HAVE TO TAKE OUT FUSE TO GET THEM TO GO OFF. LIGHTS COME ON. HAVE TO DISCONNECT BATTERY TO GET THEM OFF - ALL OF THIS WHEN THE KEY IS NOT EVEN IN THE CAR! $60 TO HAVE CAR TOWED TO SHOP AND $600 TO HAVE ALTERNATOR REPLACED. WHY IS THE 180 AMP ALTERNATOR NOT PART OF THE P60 RECALL WHEN IT IS HAVING THE SAME EXACT ISSUES AS THE 160 AMP ALTERNATOR THAT WAS RECALLED??? I KEEP SEEING OTHERS SAYING THEY KEEP HAVING THE ALTERNATOR GO OUT AGAIN EVEN AFTER THEY REPLACE IT. I HAVE HAD THIS CAR FOR 5 YEARS AND NEVER AND PROBLEMS WITH IT OTHER THAN GENERAL MAINTENANCE STUFF. I DON'T NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT ANY LONGER.

THIS YEAR IN JANUARY 2016 THE FAN WAS NOT BLOWING AND THERE WAS NOT HEAT IN THE VEHICLE. I TURN THE CAR OF AND RESTARTED IT AND THE FAN BEGAN TO BLOW IMMEDIATELY. LAST WEEK MY STEERING WHEEL FELT LIKE IT WAS NOT GOING TO COMPLETE MY LEFT TURN AND GOT REALLY TIGHT. YESTERDAY AS I WAS DRIVING MY ACCELERATOR AND BRAKE BEGAN TO FEEL VERY TIGHT AS IF THEY WERE BOTH GETTING STIFF AND THE SUSPENSION STARTED GETTING VERY TIGHT THEN AS I WAS BACKING INTO A PARKING SPACE MY BACKUP CAMERA STARTED FLICKERING LIKE POLTERGEIST. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO CHECK IT I NEEDED A BATTERY OR A NEW ALTERNATOR AND THEY SAID NOPE. MY BATTERY, MY ALTERNATOR AND STARTED ARE ALL GOOD. I HAVE BEEN TWO DIFFERENT PLACES AND THEY TOLD ME THAT I HAVE AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE THAT HAS JUST GONE BAD OVER TIME. I TRIED TO HAVE SOMEONE LOOK INTO IT IN 2013, BUT ANYTIME SOMEONE HELD ONTO THE VEHICLE NOTHING HAPPENED. I JUST SPOKE TO ANOTHER MECHANIC AND THEY SAID I MAY NEED A NEW PCM. THE OIL PRESSURE WOULD JUMP MAYBE 30 TO 40 PSI BUT ONLY REACHING 20 MILES AN HOUR. I AM UNAWARE OF WHAT IS CAUSING THESE ISSUES AND ONLY DISCOVERED IT AS I WAS MAKING A TURN OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY. I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE ON A CITY STREET WHEN SUDDENLY IT STARTED TO ACT STRANGE. THE VEHICLE STABILITY WARNING LIGHT WENT ON AND I BEGAN TO QUICKLY LOSE POWER AND CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. A BURNING SMELL WAS DETECTED AND THE POWERTRAIN BEGAN TO MAKE UNUSUAL NOISES. OTHER WARNING LIGHTS BEGAN POPPING RANDOMLY AND THE WIPERS STARTED ON ITS OWN. THE VEHICLE THEN STALLED AND CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. ALL ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. SMELLED LIKE SOMETHING HAD BURNED UP UNDER THE HOOD. I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED CHRYSLER ROADSIDE SERVICE AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP. THE CHRYSLER SERVICE DEPARTMENT LATER EXAMINED THE VEHICLE AND SAID THE ALTERNATOR HAD BURNED UP. THE ALTERNATOR ALSO CAUSED DAMAGE TO MY BATTERY. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT INDICATED IT WOULD COST APPROXIMATELY $1,000 TO REPAIR BOTH. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ALSO INDICATED THIS REPAIR IS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY OR RECALL. I TOLD THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT I WAS AWARE CHRYSLER HAD RECALLED ALMOST 1/2 MILLION VEHICLE FOR THE SAME EXACT ALTERNATOR PROBLEM (RECALL P60). I CONTACTED CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY INDICATED NOTHING CAN BE DONE BECAUSE MY VEHICLE WAS NOT ON THE P60 RECALL LIST. THEY PROVIDED ME A CASE NUMBER FOR THE INITIAL ROADSIDE SERVICE/TOW (#28743527) AND INDICATED NO OTHER CASE NUMBER WOULD BE GENERATED. ALTHOUGH MY VEHICLE IS NOT ON CHRYSLER'S RECALL LIST, THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS EXPERIENCED BY MY VEHICLE WAS IDENTICAL TO THE ALTERNATOR/ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS IDENTIFIED IN OTHER CHRYSLER VEHICLES HAVING THE SAME MODEL/ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS.

I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30-35 MPH AND I FELT A JERK AND A WARNING SIGN CAME ON SAYING SERVICE TRANSMISSION BELOW THAT IT SAID TO SHUT OFF ENGINE AND ENGAGE IN PARK. I WAS ALMOST ON A MAJOR STREET WHEN THIS OCCURRED IT SLOWED DOWN I WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE BECAUSE OF THE ISSUE. I TURNED AROUND TO ENTER A PARKING LOT I WAS UNABLE TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK . I HAD TO CALL A TOW TRUCK TO COME AND GET ME. I'M THANKFUL THAT I DIDN'T MAKE IT THE MAJOR ROAD WHERE THE SPEED LIMIT WAS 50-60 MPH. LOOKING FOR A CERTIFIED DEALER TO SERVICE THIS VEHICLE BUT THEY ARE SWAMPED SO I AM STUCK WITHOUT A VEHICLE. I WON'T TAKE THE CHANCE TO DRIVE IT I FEEL IT IS UNSAFE. *TR

I WAS GOING 30MPH WHEN I NOTICED MY RADIO TURNED OFF, FEW SECONDS LATER CENTER CONSOLE WENT OFF, AFTERWARDS ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS APPEARED ON MY INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE LIGHTS WERE GOING ON AND OFF THE WIND SHIELD WIPERS TURNED ON. 10 SECONDS LATER I LOST BRAKE CONTROL AND THE VEHICLE WAS STUCK ON THE DRIVE GEAR, POWER STEERING WAS OFF AS WELL. I RAN THROUGH A RED LIGHT I MANAGED TO USE THE EMERGENCY BREAK TO STOP, ONCE I WAS STOPPED THE CAR WAS STILL STUCK ON DRIVE, THE ENGINE WAS SHAKING AND MAKING NOISE IT TOOK 30 MINS FOR THE ENGINE TO TURN OFF. THE VEHICLE INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR LIGHTS WERE GOING CRAZY. THE CAR GOT TOWED NOW THE DEALER IS CHARGING ME 1,020 TO REPLACE THE ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY.
