The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler 300. The contact stated that driving on multiple occasions while driving at various speeds, the infotainment panel went black and did not work as intended. Additionally, the contact stated that the message “Wrong Gear/Change Gear” was displayed. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that on another occasion while in neutral, the vehicle failed to shift into park as intended. The vehicle was taken to a dealer twice however, the failure was not duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that years later, the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the infotainment system needed to be replaced. The failure persisted. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 8,000.

RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2013 CHRYSLER 300 THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN HAVING CONSTANT STARTING ISSUES. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO AT LEAST 5 SHOPS AND EVERY SHOP IS TELLING ME THAT MY VEHICLE IS HAVING CODES COME BACK FOR THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION: CONTROL MODULE (TCM, PCM) THE CAR HAS BEEN WORKED ON MULTIPLE TIMES AND I AM STILL UNABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I SEEN THERE IS A RECALL FOR 2013 CHRYSLER 300 FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE AND I BELIEVE MY VEHICLE MAY HAVE BEEN AFFECTED.

AFTER THE FLARE BETWEEN GEARS IT IS STUCK IN 3RD GEAR OR LIMP MODE WITH A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DTC READ P0730 THROUGH P0735. LITERALLY HAVE TO CARRY A DIAGNOSTIC SCAN TOOL WITH ME TO CLEAR THE CODES. ITS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND ALWAYS HAPPENS IN THE WORST PLACES LIKE GETTING ON THE INTERSTATE OR ON BUSY CITY STREETS ALMOST CAUSES AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE YOU HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO PULL OVER AND STOP NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE OR THE CONDITIONS AROUND YOU... MY 18 YEAR OLD SON WAS DRIVING THE CAR AT ABOUT 40-50 MILES AN HOUR ON A VERY BUSY STREET IN BELLEVUE WASHINGTON, A CITY HE'S NOT FAMILIAR WITH WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY SHIFTED INTO PARK AND WOULD NO LONGER ACCELERATE. HE HAD TO THINK QUICKLY AND BY THE GRACE OF GOD HE WAS ABLE TO MOMENTARILY GET THE CAR IN DRIVE AND PULL OVER INTO A DRIVEWAY. ONCE STOPPED THE CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO ANY OTHER GEAR, IT WOULD REVERT BACK TO PARK REGARDLESS OF WHAT GEAR YOU SHIFTED IT INTO. WE TRIED TO SHIFT IT INTO DRIVE AND IT REVERTED BACK TO PARK. THIS IS THE SECOND VERY SERIOUS SITUATION I'VE HAD WITH THIS CAR. THE FUSE HAPPENS OVER A YEAR AGO WHEN THE CAR JUST STOPPED RUNNING IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING. I ALMOST GOT HIT BY A BUS BUT LUCKILY I WAS ALSO ABLE TO THINK QUICK ND TURN INTO A URGENT CARE PARKING LOT. IT WAS A FAULTY ALTERNATOR THAT WAS A PART OF A RECALL. I AM VERY SCARED TO DRIVE THIS CAR AND DO NOT WANT MY SO. TO EVER DRIVE IT. IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE A SECOND CAR FOR HIM TO DRIVE BUT ITS UNSAFE. I WANT CHRYSLER TO PAY ME OUT OF MY LOAN AS I NEVER WANT TO DRIVE THIS CAR AGAIN AND I STILL OWE $15,000 ON THIS CAR.

THE CONTACT HAD TO TURN INTO A HANDICAPPED SPACE WITH A CONCRETE BARRIER TO PREVENT THE VEHICLE FROM CRASHING INTO A BUILDING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE SAME DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A SHIFTING FAILURE AND THE COMPUTER FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DRIVER WAS SHAKEN UP BY THE INCIDENT AND WAS UNABLE TO USE THE FOB TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE CV JOINTS ARE FAILING AND THE STRUTS ARE FAILING. THE ROCKERARMS IN THE FRONT SUSPENSION ARE ALSO FAILING. THE CLICKING HAPPENS STATIONARY OR WHILE IN MOTION AND THE SUSPENSION POPPING HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS DRIVING.

HAD ENTERED A SIDE-STREET OFF BEDFORD ST IN LEXINGTON MA (MA 4/225) AT ABOUT 10 A.M. AND WAS STOPPED, WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING AND IN DRIVE, BY A LINE OF TRAFFIC AHEAD OF ME. WHILE IDLING, THERE WAS A LOUD SOUND AND A JOLT FELT IN THE CAR, BUT THE ENGINE WAS STILL IDLING. THE DASHBOARD DISPLAY HAD "AWD SERVICE" AND THEN ANOTHER WORD WHICH I DON'T RECALL. WHEN I WENT TO PUT THE TRANSMISSION IN PARK, I FOUND THE HANDLE SHIFTER ALREADY SHOWED "P" AND SO DID THE DASHBOARD DISPLAY. WHEN I TRIED TO CHANGE THE SETTING WITH THE HANDLE SHIFTER, PULLING TOWARD "D" DID NOTHING (STILL SHOWED "P") AND PUSHING FORWARD PRODUCED A MESSAGE ON THE DASHBOARD DISPLAY ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION ALREADY BEING IN THE SELECTED POSITION. TURNING OFF THE ENGINE AND RESTARTING IT (WHICH PROCEEDED NORMALLY) AND RETRYING TO CHANGE THE SHIFT POSITION RESULTED IN THE SAME BEHAVIOR (I.E., NO CHANGE TRYING TO MOVE TO "D" AND THE MESSAGE IN THE DISPLAY ABOUT ALREADY BEING IN THE SELECTED POSITION). HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TAKEN ON THE BED OF A TOW TRUCK TO MY LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER. (AS THE TRANSMISSION APPEARED TO BE IN PARK, THAT ENTAILED DRAGGING THE CAR ONTO THE BED OF THE TOW TRUCK AND THEN "BOUNCING" IT OFF THE BED AT THE DEALER. LAST ADVICE I HAVE BEEN PROVIDED BY THE DEALER (WAS TODAY) IS THAT THEY ARE AWAITING ADVICE BACK FROM CHRYSLER ABOUT A NEW TRANSMISSION. NOTE: EXTRAORDINARILY LUCKY THAT I WAS STOPPED ON A SIDE STREET IN THE RIGHT-MOST OF THE TWO LANES WHEN THIS CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OCCURRED. MY CHRYSLER 300 LX STATED HAVE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS AND I WENT TO A CHRYSLER AFTER I HAD IT LOOK AT, AT A MECHANIC SHOP, BECAUSE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME OWN. , ALL THEY DID WAS HOOK UP THE CAR FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST, THE PRINT OUT READ SOMETHING TO DO WITH POWER TRAN MODUAL. THEY SAID TAKE IT TO CHRYSLER, SO I DID. CHRYSLER SAID THE COMPUTER LOCKED UP THE CODES, SO THEY CAN NOT GET A READING OF THE PROBLEM. I SAID CAN YOU DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT, THEY SAID UNTIL THE LIGHT COMES BACK OWN, THEY CAN NOT DO NOTHING. I SAID THE CAR IS UNSAFE, THEY SAID NOTHING. GO TO PUT IT IN REVERSE AND IT BYPASSES THE GEAR. TIMES I PUT IT IN DRIVE AND IT IS IN NEUTRAL. TAKEN CAR BACK TO DEALER FOR PROBLEM AND WAS TOLD TO LIVE WITH IT, NOTHING CAN BE DONE. ONE TIME I GOT OUT THINKING CAR WAS IN PARK AND IT WAS IN REVERSE AND STARTED TO MOVE, LUCKILY I WAS IN A FLAT PARKING AREA AT THE TIME.

I IN OCTOBER OF 2013 I PURCHASED A CHRYSLER 300 NEW FROM CENTRAL CHRYSLER IN RAYNHAM MA. IT HAS A 36000 MILE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY AS WELL AS A 15000 MILE NO HASSLE WARRANTY. MY TRANSMISSION BEGAN TO SHIFT HARSHLY (AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION) IN FEBRUARY OF 2014, AND I RECEIVED SERVICE IN APRIL OF 2014. I WAS TOLD THE TRANSMISSION REQUIRED A PART THAT WAS NOT YET MANUFACTURED BY CHRYSLER, BUT THAT I WOULD HAVE THE PART IN LATE MAY OR EARLY JUNE. NOT ONLY HAVE I NOT RECEIVED THE PART, I WAS TOLD BY CHRYSLER CORPORATE THAT THE PART IS NOT EVEN IN DEVELOPMENT. THE DEALER WILL DO NOTHING EXCEPT REVALUE THE CAR AT A SIGNIFICANT LOSS TO ME FINANCIALLY AND THAT IS PREDATORY AND INAPPROPRIATE. I HAVE INVOLVED THE ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE TO INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE AS WELL AS THE CHRYSLER CORPORATION. THE DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO REVISIT THE TRANSMISSION ISSUE CURRENTLY. I AM DRIVING AND PAYING FOR A CAR THAT IS "OPERATING AS DESIGNED" WHICH IS A DESIGN FLAW WITH NO FIX OFFERED, IN DIRECT VIOLATION OF THE WARRANTY. I HAVE BROUGHT THE CAR BACK TO 2 ADDITIONAL DEALERSHIPS WITH NO FIXES OR REPAIRS POSSIBLE AS OF YET. THIS IS A BADLY DESIGNED CAR WITH EXTREMELY POOR SERVICE FROM BOTH CORPORATE AND DEALERSHIP LEVELS. *TR

WHILE DRIVING, I EXPERIENCED A JERKING FROM THE CAR WHEN I PRESS ON THE GAS AND WHEN I COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. AFTER DOING THIS FOR AWHILE IT BECAME EVEN MORE NOTICEABLE. ONE NIGHT WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON THE INTERSTATE, I FELT THE JERKING AGAIN AND A STALLING WHEN PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR. THE CAR THE SHUT OFF ON ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSTATE. I HAD TO IMMEDIATE START IT BACK AGAIN AND THE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ON UNTIL THE NEXT DAY I TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP. WAS INFORMED THEN THAT IT WAS A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM BUT THEY WONT BE ABLE TO FIX IT. THEY GAVE THE VEHICLE BACK IN THE SAME CONDITION EXCEPT FOR THE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT. I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP THE NEXT WEEK AND THEY NOTICED THE SAME THING AND SAID THE SAME THING AND THAT CHRYSLER WOULDN'T AUTHORIZE THEM TO FIX IT. I NOTIFIED CHRYSLER AS WELL AND THEY COULDN'T GIVE ME AN ANSWER AS TO WHY. BRAND NEW VEHICLE PURCHASED IN JANUARY THAT HAS LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING AND KEEP BEEN TOLD ITS THE TRANSMISSION. I STILL HAVE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE BECAUSE ITS MY ONLY MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION BUT ITS STILL BAD. *TR

TL- THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE'S TRANSMISSION WAS IN THE PARK POSITION WITH THE ENGINE TURNED ON BEFORE SHE EXITED THE VEHICLE. APPROXIMATELY 4 MINUTES LATER THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY BEGAN TO DRIVE BACKWARDS AND CRASHED INTO A SECOND VEHICLE. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE PASSENGER IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WAS ABLE TO MOVE INTO THE DRIVERS SEAT AND STOP THE VEHICLE BY PRESSING THE BRAKES. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE PARKING BREAK WAS NOT ENGAGED DURING THE INCIDENT. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED AND NO POLICE REPORT WAS TAKEN. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED AT THE DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE DEFECT WAS DUE TO A SOFTWARE MALFUNCTION. NO ADDITIONAL INFORMATION WAS AVAILABLE. NO REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED. FROM JUST AFTER A FEW DAYS OF PURCHASE, ON ALL THE SUSPENSION PARTS, THERE IS TONS OF RUST EATING AWAY AT THE SUSPENSION OF MY BRAND NEW CAR. THIS ISSUE IS ON EVERY SINGLE CHRYSLER 300 BEING SOLD. AND EVERY SINGLE CHRYSLER 300 IS IN DANGER. THE FRONT AND REAR SUSPENSION IS ON A TICKING TIME BOMB TO RUST, AND BREAK APART. THE RETAINING RING AROUND THE BOTTOM OF THE BALLJOINT, THE METAL HOLDING IT ON, CAN BE SCRAPED RIGHT OFF. I HAVE EMAILED CHRYSLER, THEY HAVE NO COMMENT. YOU CAN VISIT A LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER RIGHT NOW, AND NOTICE THIS ISSUE. AND BRITTLES RIGHT OFF. EACH PART NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. ESPECIALLY THE CONTROL ARM BUSHING RINGS, AND TIE-ROD END RETAINING RINGS. SMALLER PARTS SUCH AS THESE, WILL COLLAPSE UNDER GREAT PRESSURE I HAVE VIDEOS, AND PICTURES THAT DOCUMENT THESE FINDINGS. ALONG WITH MULTIPLE CONSUMERS WITH THE SAME ISSUES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE TORQUE CONVERTER MAY HAVE TO BE CHANGED. THE DEALER REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION FILTER AND SOLENOID. WHILE DRIVING, THE CAR'S GAS PEDAL BECOMES UNRESPONSIVE. YOU CAN NOT ACCELERATE. IN MULTIPLE INCIDENCES, I HAVE BEEN NEARLY HIT ON THE FREEWAY DUE TO MY ABRUPT LOSS OF ACCELERATION. THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY HAD THE CAR FOR 2 DAYS AND INFORMED ME THAT THE CAR WAS FINE. IN THE FINAL INCIDENT, I WAS GOING 75 IN HEAVY TRAFFIC WHEN THE CAR BEGAN TO LOSE SPEED. I COULD NOT ACCELERATE OR GET THE CAR TO GO. THE CAR'S CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, AND THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED 70 MILES TO MY HOME BECAUSE IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE.
