TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN 4X4. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS ADDING FUEL TO THE VEHICLE, IT SPEWED OUT WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TATE DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP (7429 RITCHIE HWY, GLEN BURNIE, MD 21061, (888) 864-6650) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ROLLOVER VALVE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 107,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN 4X4. THE CONTACT STATED THAT IT TOOK APPROXIMATELY 20 MINUTES TO FILL UP HER FUEL TANK DUE TO AN INCONSISTENT FLOW OF FUEL. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO PLACE FUEL IN HER VEHICLE AT SEVERAL DIFFERENT STATIONS AND EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE EACH TIME. CENTURY DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (13500 VETERANS MEMORIAL PKWY IN WENTZVILLE, MO 63385) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURE WAS AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,000.

GAS 'SPITS OUT' WHEN FILLING. VERY DANGEROUS, GAS WILL SHOOT OUT OVER A FOOT. TOOK IT TO CHRYSLER DEALER FOR RECALL 'TSB 14-001-12', DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. RETURNED THE CAR 3 DAYS LATER AND CHARGED $100.00. WAS TOLD I NEED A NEW GAS TANK AND I HAVE TO PAY FOR IT!!! WHY DOESN'T THIS RECALL PAY FOR IT??? IT'S DIFFENTLY A SAFEY PROBLEM???

I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN AUGUST 2010. IT IS A 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN. I HAD IT JUST A FEW MONTHS AND I WAS HAVING ISSUES WITH THE STEERING. I AM GOOD DRIVER AND DROVE TO WORK EACH DAY WITHOUT ISSUE. I WENT TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC AND HE ADVISED THE TIE ROD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. HE HAS BEEN IN BUSINESS FOR YEARS AND NOTED HOW ODD IT IS THAT A NEWER VEHICLE WOULD NEED A TIE ROD REPLACEMENT. HE HAD NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE. IT COST OVER $500 TO GET IT REPLACED. HE SAID HAD I DRIVEN IT JUST A FEW MORE DAYS THE WHOLE FRONT WOULD HAVE BROKEN CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. I ALSO HAD AN ISSUE IN 2012 WITH A EMISSION SENSOR AND MY GAS TANK.

WHEN I PUT FUEL INTO THE GAS TANK A LARGE AMOUNT OF GASOLINE GUSHES BACK OUT OF THE TANK AFTER I AM FINISHED FUELING. THIS CAUSES GASOLINE TO SPLASH BACK ALL OVER THE PERSON FILLING THE VEHICLE, THE GROUND AND OVER THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THIS HAPPENS AT DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS, AND DOES NOT MATTER HOW SLOW OR HOW FAST I FILL THE TANK. IT HAPPENS AFTER THE PUMP HAS STOPPED FILLING AND IS TURNED OFF AND REMOVING THE NOZZLE. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF THE PUMP AUTOMATICALLY TURN OFF, OR IF YOU SHUT OF THE FUEL PUMP. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, WHO ADVISED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CONTRIBUTED TO THE FUEL TANK INLET VALVE. THE VEHICLE WAS SCHEDULED FOR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

VEHICLE HAS BEEN OVERFLOWING GAS AT THE END OF FILLUP. THE PUMP SHUTS OFF AS IT SHOULD, BUT THEN GAS OVERFLOWS OUT. WE ARE NOT TOPPING OFF - THIS HAPPENS WITH THE FIRST SHUTOFF OF THE GAS PUMP. THIS AT FIRST HAPPEN PERIODICALLY, BUT NOW HAPPENS EVERY TIME, NO MATTER WHERE I AM FILLING UP. I AM NOT OVER FILLING THE VEHICLE BY ANY MEANS, IN FACT I CAN SLOW THE PUMP DOWN TO A DRIBBLE AND IT WILL STILL "BURP" OUT FUEL ALL OVER THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND LEAVING A LARGE PUDDLE OF GAS ON THE GROUND. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE DELT WITH BY CHRYSLER. I HAVE TALKED TO OTHERS PERSONALLY THAT HAVE THE SAME ISSUE AND HAVE READ THAT MANY MANY OTHERS ARE HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE. *TR

STARTING AT AROUND 85,000 MILES OR SO DURING FILLING OF THE GAS TANK, JUST BEFORE THE FUEL HANDLE SHUT OFF ENGAGES, AN ENORMOUS AMOUNT OF FUEL LITERALLY GUSHES BACK FROM THE FUEL TANK, SOAKING THE PERSON FILLING THE VEHICLE AND THE GROUND WITH WHAT APPEARS TO BE BETWEEN A HALF GALLON TO A GALLON OF FUEL. WE HAVE TRIED MANY DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS, MANUALLY FILLING UP THE TANK, AND EVEN NOT COMPLETELY FILLING UP THE TANK ALL WITH THE SAME RESULT - ALOT OF GAS DUMPING BACK OUT ONTO PEOPLE, THE TRUCK, AND THE GROUND. GIVEN THAT GASOLINE IS EXTREMELY FLAMMABLE, AND THAT IT HAS BEEN PROVEN THAT SPARKS FROM STATIC ELECTRICITY AND CELL PHONES CAN EASILY IGNITE VAPORS, THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. MANY PEOPLE COMPLAIN OF THE SAME ISSUE WITH MANY CHRYSLER PRODUCTS (JEEP, DURANGO, AND ASPEN, MAINLY), AND CHRYSLER HAS INSTITUTED A RECALL ON VERY VERY LIMITED VEHICLES FOR THIS PROBLEM. I BELIEVE THAT ALL OF THE 2007 ASPENS AND DURANGOS, AND POSSIBLY EVEN MORE VEHICLES, SHOULD BE RECALLED TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. THE ONLY WAY TO FIX THE ISSUE IS TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE GAS TANK, WHICH IS COST PROHIBITIVE FOR MANY PEOPLE. I AM SURPRISED THAT THERE HASN'T BEEN ANY SERIOUS FIRES AND/OR FATALITIES DUE TO THIS ISSUE. DO WE REALLY NEED TO WAIT FOR SOMEONE TO BE SERIOUSLY HURT OR DIE BEFORE TAKING ACTION? NO OTHER CAR MANUFACTURERS SEEM TO BE HAVING THIS PROBLEM WITH AS MUCH REGULARITY AS CHRYSLER HAS. GIVEN THE TRAGIC EVENTS THAT HAVE UNFOLDED OVER THE PAST SEVERAL DAYS THE LAST THING I WANT TO HEAR ABOUT OR EXPERIENCE IS MORE CHILDREN KILLED OR SERIOUSLY INJURED FROM A WELL KNOWN AND DOCUMENTED PROBLEM. PLEASE TAKE A VERY SERIOUS LOOK INTO THIS, AND SINCE I AM LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE THE ABILITY TO PAY FOR A NEW GAS TANK I WOULD BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO GIVE YOU THE OLD ONE TO VERIFY THE ISSUE. AS WITH MANY OTHERS, I TOO HAVE HAD THE PROBLEM WITH GAS SPITTING OUT OF THE TANK WHEN FUELING MY 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN. THIS HAS OCCURRED REPEATEDLY OVER THE PAST YEAR AND A HALF NO MATTER WHAT PRECAUTIONS I HAVE TRIED (STOPPING REPEATEDLY, ADJUSTING THE POSITION OF THE NOZZEL, ETC..). IT'S DANGEROUS, HARMFUL TO SKIN/CLOTHING/SHOES, COSTLY AND DOWNRIGHT EMBARRASSING. AFTER READING ON THE INTERNET HOW COMMON OF AN ISSUE THIS IS, I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT CHRYSLER HAS NOT STOOD UP AND TAKEN ACTION ON THIS - OBVIOUSLY THEY ARE NOT LOOKING TO BUILD BRAND LOYALTY! *TT
