I HAVE A 1994 CHRYSLER CONCORDE WHICH HAS AIR-BAG PROBLEM WHICH I WAS TOLD WOULD COST ME $500 TO REPLACE A CLOCK SPRING BY BOB BAKER IN CARLSBAD, CA. I REFUSED STATING THAT DAIMLER CHRYSLER SHOULD TREAT THAT AS A DRIVE TRAIN DEFECT AND REPLACE IT. I ALSO HAD A FAILURE OF THE STEERING AND PAID FOR THAT OUT OF POCKET.*JB

THE TIE-RODS IN MY 1994 CHRYSLER CONCORDE HAVE FAILED REPEATEDLY SINCE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE, CAUSING EXCESSIVE VIBRATIONS AS WELL AS DEPLETED STEERING ABILITY. ADDITIONALLY MY STEERING WHEEL IS APPROX. 45 DEGREES OFFSET FROM CENTER. MY DEALER REPLACED MY TIE-RODS AT APPROX. 150,000 MILES UNDER WARRANTY PURCHASED WITH MY VEHICLE. MY VEHICLE IS AT 173,680 MILES NOW AND THE TIE-RODS ARE ONCE AGAIN IN NEED OF REPLACEMENT. I AM CONCERNED THESE PARTS ARE DEFFECTIVE DUE TO EXCESSIVE FORCE PUT ON THEM BECAUSE OF A SEVERE VIBRATION IN THE STEERING COLUMN. IT HAS BEEN LESS THAN SIX MONTHS SINCE THE TIE RODS WERE LAST REPLACED, AND EVEN AFTER THEY WERE REPLACED THE LAST TIME MY DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO RETURN THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE CENTER POSITION FOR FORWARD TRAVEL.

STEERING WHEEL SHAKES AT HIGH SPEEDS. TOOK VEHICLE TO MECHANIC AND THEY STATED THAT TIE ROD BUSHING WAS COMPLETELY WORN OUT. DEALER WAS AWARE OF PROBLEM. *AKCHRYSLER APPEARS TO BE AWARE THAT THE FRONT LEFT AND RIGHT TIE ROD BUSHINGS DO NOT LAST AS NORMALLY AS THEY SHOULD. THE TIE ROD BUSHINGS FAILURE CAUSES A POTENTIAL LOSS OF STEERING. *JG
BOLT CAP AT ROD CONNECTED TO THE RACK AND PINION BECAME UNSCREWED AND FELL OUT. THIS CAUSED TIE ROD TO BECOME LOOSE, AND DRIVER LOST STEERING CONTROL WHILE TURNING INTO A DRIVEWAY. WHEEL TURNED SIDEWAYS. IT SLID ALONG AND INTO GRAVEL. VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP AND WAS REPAIRED.*AK *JB
BOLT CAP AT ROD CONNECTED TO THE RACK AND PINION BECAME UNSCREWED AND FELL OUT. THIS CAUSED TIE ROD TO BECOME LOOSE, AND DRIVER LOST STEERING CONTROL WHILE TURNING INTO A DRIVEWAY. WHEEL TURNED SIDEWAYS. IT SLID ALONG AND INTO GRAVEL. VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP AND WAS REPAIRED.*AK *JB
RIGHT SIDE CYLINDER OF POWER STEERING IS MOVING AROUND TOO MUCH WHEN LOOKING UNDER HOOD WHILE SOMEONE ELSE TURNS. THIS CREATES A PROBLEM WITH MAIN CYLINDER THAT CAUSES RIGHT WHEEL TO FLAP ALL OVER THE PLACE. *AK
BOTH FRONT TIE RODS WERE REPORTED LOST FROM DEALER. SHOULD NOT BE DRIVEN UNTIL REPAIRS WERE DONE. MANUFACTURER NOTIFIED, AND INFORMED CONSUMER THAT VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER A RECALL DUE TO VIN. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS ON THIS MATTER. *AK
INNER TIE ROD ENDS AND SWAY BAR END LINKS WORN CAUSING VIBRATION/NOISE FROM FRONT END WHEN GOING OVER ROUGH ROAD. NLM. NLM
CAR STARTED PULLING TO THE LEFT AND ABS WARNING LIGHT COMES ON PERIODICALLY, UPON FURTHER INSPECTION I FOUND THAT BOTH TIE ROD ENDS ARE WORE AND VERY SLOPPY. CHRYSLER GARAGE SAID THAT THESE ARE NOT RECALL ITEMS AND THAT I WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR REPAIRS.
TIE ROD ON THE LEFT FRONT END CAME APART RESULTING IN LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL, IT TURNED OUT THAT A LOCKING MECHANISM FOR THE INNER TIE ROD ENDS WAS MISSING. NLM
NUT HOLDING TIE ROD FELL OFF, CAUSING LOSS OF STEERING. IT WAS SUGGESTED THAT NUT LEFT LOOSE ON ASSEMBLY LINE

ONE TIE ROD END WORN UNEVENLY CAUSING BANGING NOISE IN THE RIGHT FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. *NLM
THE GAS STRUTS WEAKENED IN COLD WEATHER, ALLOWING THE HOOD TO FALL ON MY HEAD CAUSING PERSONAL, BUT FORTUNATELY NOT SEVER, INJURY. NO PRIOR INDICATION OF WEAKENING. THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM FAILED DURING A LOW-SPEED PARKING LOT MANEUVER, CAUSING MY WIFE TO LOSE CONTROL. FORTUNATELY SHE STOPPED. REQUIRED RACK REPLACEMENT AND POWER STEERING PUMP FAILURE. CAR ESSENTIALLY UNSTEERABLE. IF IT HAD HAPPENED AT SPEED, A SERIOUS ACCIDENT WOULD SURELY HAVE OCCURRED. *AK

RUBBER BUSHING ON TIE-ROD END FAILED AT LESS THAN 20,000 MILES. TIE ROD REPLACEMENT WAS REQUIRED. *AK
RADIO, WHILE TUNED TO AM STATIONS, CLICKS WHEN TURN SIGNALS ARE ACTIVATED. HEADLIGHTS ARE EFFECTIVE ONLY FOR A VERY SHORT DISTANCE AND HAVE ACCUMULATED DIRT INSIDE OF THEM. ON COLD MORNINGS WHEN THE DEFROSTER IS USED BEFORE THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR IS SUFFICANTLY WARMED UP THERE IS A CLICKING SOUND, LIKE A SHORT. COMING FROM THE STEERING COLUMN.

CONSUMER WAS DRIVING WHEN SHE HEARD A SNAPPING NOISE. THE NEXT DAY SHE BEGAN TO BACK OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY AND VEHICLE DROPPED. CONSUMER HAS NOT REPAIRED VEHICLE. *AK
POWER STEERING PUMP PULLEY (PLASTIC) BROKE AND CAUSED THE CAR TO SHUT DOWN. DRIVER COULD NOT STEER AND SUFFERED INJURIES WHILE TRYING TO TURN THE WHEEL.
WHEN TRAVELING 60 MPH IN WET WEATHER CONDITION THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP, RESULTING IN THE VEHICLE PULLING TO THE RIGHT, CAUSING THE CONSUMER TO HIT THE GUARDRAIL IN WHICH THERE WAS NO DEPLOYMENT OF NEITHER DRIVER'S NOR PASSENGER'S SIDE AIR BAGS. VEHICLE WAS TOTAL LOSS. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK

WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE LOST ALL STEERING. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER AND HE SAID THAT IT THE STEERING RACK WAS DEFECTIVE. *AK
FAILURE ON THE STEEIRNG WHEEL AND COLUMN, CONSUMER WAS MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN AND THE VEHICLE LOST BRAKES AND POWER STEERING, CAUSING THE CONSUMER TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT. *AK
