THE REAR GLASS WINDOW FALLS OUT OF THE CONVERTIBLE ROOF AND INTO THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. THIS IS CHRONIC WITH MOST CROSSFIRE ROADSTERS. EASILY INVESTIGATED AND VERIFIED. IT CAN HAPPEN WHILE MOVING OR STANDING STILL.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE REAR GLASS WINDOW SEPARATED FROM THE CONVERTIBLE ROOF TOP AND FELL INSIDE THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SZOTT M-59 DODGE LLC (2565 E. HIGHLAND RD. HIGHLAND CHARTER TWP, MI) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CONVERTIBLE ROOF TOP WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,000. *LN

THE BACK WINDOW OF THE CROSSFIRE HAS SEPARATED FROM THE TOP. WE SAW THIS WHILE WE WERE WALKING AROUND IT IN GARAGE. I HAVE CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY SAY THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. WE BOUGHT THIS CAR IN 2008 AND IS KEPT IN A GARAGE. I ONLY HAVE 53000 MILES ON IT. I KNOW THEY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE WINDOWS FALLING OUT BECAUSE THEY A FIXING THEM IN 2005 MODELS BUT NOT THE 2006 MODELS. IS THERE ANY THING I CAN DO BECAUSE A REPLACEMENT TOP IS VERY EXPENSIVE. WE HAVE HAD THE WINDOW RESEALED TWICE AND IT WILL NOT HOLD.

I OWN A 2006 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE. MY BACK WINDOW IS FALLING OUT AND IT SEEMS THAT CHRYSLER DOES NOT WANT TO TAKE OWNERSHIP OF THE FAULTY ADHESIVE AND FAULTY WORKMANSHIP OF THE CONVERTIBLE TOP. I CANNOT DRIVE MY CAR BECAUSE THE GLASS WILL COME OUT AND RESULT IN HITTING ANOTHER VEHICLE, PEDESTRIAN OR OTHER OBJECT. THIS PROBLEM HAS LEFT THOUSANDS OF CROSSFIRE OWNERS IN A BAD SITUATION. CHRYSLER DID ISSUE A RECALL ON THE 2005'S UNDER TSB 23-035-11REVA BUT NOT FOR ANY OTHER MODEL YEARS. STATE FARM INSURANCE INFORMED ME THE SAME TOP/MANUFACTURER/ADHESIVE IS USED ON ALL CROSSFIRE MODEL YEARS THEREFORE IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER AN INSURANCE CLAIM. I'VE DRIVEN MY CAR 3 TIMES SINCE NOTICING THE WINDOW AND THE PROBLEM CONTINUES TO GET WORSE; BECOMING MORE AND MORE OF A SAFETY ISSUE. I WANT TO KNOW WHEN CHRYSLER WILL BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF ALL OF THE FAULTY EQUIPMENT THEY MARKETED AND SOLD TO TRUSTING CONSUMER. I AM ASKING THE NHTSA TO FORCE THE RECALL ON ALL CROSSFIRE CONVERTIBLE TOPS, NO MATTER WHAT YEAR THEY WERE MANUFACTURED OR WHERE THEY SHIPPED. FAULTY EQUIPMENT IS FAULTY EQUIPMENT AND THE PROBLEM NEEDS TO RECTIFIED BY THE MANUFACTURER. I AM ASKING FOR THE HELP FROM THE NHTSA - THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS - THIS IS OBVIOUSLY NOT AN ISOLATED CASE. UNTIL THEN, MY CAR IS NOT ABLE TO BE DRIVEN.

THE REAR WINDOW OF THE CONVERTIBLE TOP IS FALLING OUT. THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. MY VEHICLE WAS BUILT IN OCTOBER 2005, BUT IS CONSIDERED A 2006 MODEL. CHRYSLER TSB 23-035-11 REV A COVERS THE PROBLEM FOR 2005 MODELS. THIS COMMON PROBLEM EFFECTS MORE THAN 2005 VEHICLES. ON 9-11-2015 CHRYSLER WAS CONTACTED (CASE # 27856344). THEY DENIED RESPONSIBILITY. CLAIMED (1) TSA ONLY APPLIED TO VEHICLES IN SOUTHERN STATES (I PROVIDED THEM WITH A REPAIR ORDER FROM WESTBURY CHRYSLER IN WESTBURY, NEW YORK THAT APPLIED THE TSB & PROVIDED NO CHARGE REPLACEMENT TOP. NEW YORK IS NOT A SOUTHERN STATE); (2) TSA ONLY APPLIED TO 2005 VEHICLES (I PROVIDED THEM INFORMATION WHERE TSB HAD BEEN APPLIED TO A 2008 VEHICLE). THIS VEHICLE IS GARAGED MOST DAYS AND HAS ONLY 34,590 MILES. THIS SAFETY PROBLEM IS DUE TO A MANUFACTURING PROBLEM THAT MANUFACTURE IS TRYING TO AVOID. VEHICLE IS IN ST. LOUIS, MO

REAR GLASS WINDOW ADHESIVE FAILED AND WNDOW IS FALLING OUT. GLASS WINDOW ON CONVERTABLE ROOF IS SEPARATING FROM VINAL. THE WINDOW WILL EVENTIALLY FALL OUT COMPLETELY CAUSING UNSAFE CONDITIONS. CALLED CHRYSLER AND WAS TOLD NO WARRANTY OR RECALL AND THAT WHOLE CONVERTABLE TOP WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED FOR APPROX $2000. THE CAR IS ALWAYS IN A GARAGE AND HAS VERY FEW MILES. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A POOR DESIGN. WINDOW COULD FALL OUT AND CAUSE SEVERE DAMAGE OR ACCIDENT.

CHRYSLER EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON THE 2005 MODEL AND ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THE BACK WINDOW ON THE CONVERTIBLES TEND TO COME UNGLUED AND FALL OUT. I OWN A 2006 MODEL AND I JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH A CHRYSLER REP AND SHE SAID "THERE HAVE BEEN NO REPORTS" FOR THE 2006 BACK WINDOW COMING UNGLUED ON THE CONVERTIBLES SO I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR OUT OF MY POCKET AND "KEEP GOOD RECEIPTS" IN CASE CHRYSLER DECIDES TO TAKE OWNERSHIP OF IT'S MANUFACTURING DEFECT IN THE 2006 MODEL. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THE SAME MANUFACTURING DEFECT CAN BE RECOGNIZED FOR ONE YEAR AND NOT THE NEXT. WHAT CAN CHRYSLER PRODUCE TO SHOW THAT THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM WITH THE 2006 CONVERTIBLES? I OWN A 2006 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE CONVERTIBLE.ON AUGUST 29,2014 WHILE PARKED AT A STORE MY BACKGLASS CAME UNGLUED FROM THE TOP.I WAS TOLD THAT THE ENTIRE CANVAS TOP HAS TO BE REPLACED.I WENT ONLINE AND THIS WAS CONFIRMED.I ALSO SAW NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE.THEY SAY IT COMES UNGLUED DUE TO HEAT.MY CAR IS ALWAYS KEPT IN A GARAGE AND OTHER THAN THIS IN EXCELLENT CONDTION.THIS IS CLEARLY A CHRYSLER DEFECT AS THEY ARE NOT INSTALLING THE BACKGLASS WITH A SEAL THAT HOLDS UP UNDER HEAT.IF THIS HAD HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING THERE COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES.I & OTHERS AM NOT SURE WHAT TO DO,SO I HOPE THIS WILL BE HANDLED URGENTLY.THANK YOU *TR

ADHESIVE HOLDING REAR WINDOW IN PLACE BEGAN TO SEPARATE FROM CONVERTIBLE TOP. OTHER CROSSFIRE OWNERS HAVE REPORTED TOTAL FAILURE. THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE IF/WHEN THE REAR WINDOW COMPLETELY SEPARATES AND DETACHES FROM THE VEHICLE AND POSES A HAZARD TO OTHERS I.E., PEDESTRIAN, MOTORCYCLE RIDERS, ETC. ALL THE TOPS WERE PRODUCED BY THE SAME MANUFACTURER (KARMANN) ALTHOUGH CHRYSLER IS ONLY WILLING TO REPLACE CERTAIN 2005 MODELS BASED ON THE STATE THEY WERE ORIGINALLY SOLD. THIS MAKES NO SENSE, CHRYSLER AND THE NHTSA SHOULD RECALL ALL TOPS PRODUCED AND REPLACE THEM WITH A TOP WITH THE REAR WINDOW ATTACHED WITH SOME TYPE OF IMPROVED ADHESIVE SO THE RISK TO OTHERS IS ELIMINATED. *TR

I PURCHASED THIS CAR NEW IN 2007 FROM A CHRYSLER DEALER. HAVING HEARD AFTER I PURCHASED IT, THAT THERE WERE CONCERNS ABOUT THE INSTALLATION OF THE REAR WINDOW COMING LOOSE. ARMED WITH THAT KNOWLEDGE, I PURPOSELY DID NOT STRESS THE TOP OR WINDOW AREA, IN FACT, NEVER HAD THE TOP DOWN AS THAT WOULD STRESS THE TAUGHTNESS OF THE WINDOW. NOW, 2014 THE WINDOW IS COMING LOOSE. I TOOK IT TO THE PURCHASING DEALER AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NO RECOURSE OR REPAIR AND A NEW REPLACEMENT TOP WOULD BE NEEDED BUT THAT IT WOULD PROBABLY DO THE SAME THING IN TIME BECAUSE THE CONSTRUCTION METHOD WAS THE SAME AS BEFORE. AS I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK, THE REAR CONVERTIBLE WINDOW DISLODGED FROM THE CANVAS BY 80%.I SLOWLY DROVE THE VEHICLE TO TWO LOCAL AUTHORIZED CHRYSLER DEALERSHIPS FOR INSPECTIONS. BOTH DEALERSHIPS STATED THAT THE 1/2' OF ADHESIVE THAT GLUED THE WINDOW TO THE CANVAS HAD DETERIORATED AND CAUSED THE WINDOW TO COME LOOSE. THE SECOND AUTHORIZED DEALER TOOK PHOTOS AS WELL AS I DID DOCUMENTING THE DAMAGE. THIS CAR IS RATED BY DAIMLER-BENZ OF SPEEDS UP TO 154 MPH. IF THE WINDOW WOULD HAVE COMPLETELY DISLODGED IT WOULD HAVE SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED ANYONE TRAVELING BEHIND ME. I WAS APPALLED BY THE CHEAP QUALITY CONSTRUCTION AND WORKMANSHIP OF THE INSTALL OF THIS WINDOW. I HAVE PHOTOS DOCUMENTING THE QUALITY (OR LACK OF) THE DESIGN. I HAVE READ SOME ARTICLES ON THE INTERNET WHERE OWNERS CLAIM THAT THEY (CHRYSLER-DAIMLER-BENZ) HAVE REPLACED ROOFS BECAUSE OF THIS DEFECT. I BELIEVE IN THE INTEREST OF SAFETY, THAT THESE VEHICLES SHOULD BE MANDATORY RECALLED AND FORCED TO REPAIR THESE SERIOUS DEFECTS. *TR

WHEN I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE IN DECEMBER 2007, I DID NOT HAD ANY MAJOR PROBLEMS. UNTIL... ON OR ABOUT THE FIRST OF JUNE, 2012, I PARKED MY CAR AND NOTICED THAT THE REAR WINDOW HAD COME A PART FROM THE CONVERTIBLE TOP. SINCE I HAD NOT BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT, I BEGAN TO RESEARCH ONLINE TO SEE IF OTHER CONSUMERS HAD EXPERIENCED THIS WINDOW ISSUE. SITE AFTER SITE, COMPLAINT AFTER COMPLAINT WAS READ. WITH SO MANY PEOPLE EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM WITHOUT A SUITABLE RESPONSE OR SOLUTION TO ITS CONSUMER, THIS HAS BECOME A SERIOUS PROBLEM, A DEFECT THAT MUST BE RESOLVED AND THE CARS SHOULD BE RECALLED. THE POTENTIAL TO ENDANGER LIVES FAR OUTWEIGHS ANY OTHER CONSIDERATION. WHEN SOMEONE BUYS A CONVERTIBLE, ONE DOESN'T EXPECT TO BE DRIVING ALONG AND THE GLASS COMES FLYING DOWN AND OUT. IT'S NOT SAFE! THE ONLY REPAIR SOLUTION IS THE ENTIRE TOP MUST BE REPLACED (COSTING UPWARDS OF $2100) DUE TO NO NEGLIGENCE OF THE CONSUMER. IF I HAVE READ THESE COMPLAINTS, I'M CERTAIN THAT CHRYSLER HAS AS WELL. YEARS OF THIS PROBLEM HAS PERSISTED. STILL POOR PRODUCTION OF THIS SAME PRODUCT AND NO RECALL BY CHRYSLER. THE COMPANY HASN'T SKIMPED ON THE SALES PRICES ON THIS VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO ADVISED HER TO EITHER REPLACE THE RAGTOP OR TAKE THE VEHICLE TO AN UPHOLSTERY SHOP. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE.
