ELECTRICAL SYSTEM HAS FAILED. A/C WONT POWER, POWER WINDOW WONT WORK, ETC. ALL RELAYS AND FUSES HAVE BEEN REPLACED BUT STILL NOT WORKING. GASOLINE SMELL INSIDE OF CAR COMING FROM INJECTION SYSTEM AREA. VERY HARMFUL FUMES. *TR
WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH VEHICLE STALLED. DEALERSHIPS MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE PROBLEM PERTAINED TO THE FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM FAILURE. CONSUMER MANAGED TO PULL OVER, AND HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER, WHO DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK

PRIOR TO RECALL # 98V1840 THE FUEL RAIL ASSEMBLY AND FUEL INJECTOR FAILED, CAUSING VERY BAD GAS FUMES TO ENTER INTO VEHICLE.*ET
FUEL RAIL O-RING FAILED PRIOR TO RECALL NOTICE 98V-184, CONSUMER REQUEST REIMBURSEMENT. NLM
WITH THE FUEL LEAK WE SMELLED A LITE FUEL ODER AT FIRST WHEN WE STARTED THE CAR. THE ODER GOT STRONGER BY THE END OF THE MONTH. WE RECIVED A RECALL NOTICE SHORTLY AFTER . WE TOOK THE CAR IN FOR REPAIR ON 4/7/99 FOR THE RECALL & BC THE TIRES WOBBLED & SHOOK THE CAR AT 30-45 MPH. THEY FOUND THE LEFT INNER TIE ROD BRUSHINHS WERE WORN & TIRE ROD FLOPPING- THEY REPLACED THE TIRE ROD 7 LEFT TOE SPECS. THEY ALSO FOUND THE TRANSMISSION OIL LEAKING FROM THE COOLER HOSE.--ON 11/22/99 I WAS REVERSING AT 1 OR 2 MPH FROM A PARKING SPACE & THEN AS I TRIED TO PUT THE CAR IN FORWARD THERE WAS A VIOLENT JERKING ,& SHAKING BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE ANYWHERE AT ALL. I GOT OUT TO LOOK & THERE WAS WHEEL BERRINGS & THICK GREASE ALL OVER THE PARKING LOT. MY CAR WAS TOWED THE NEXT DAY TO AN AUTO MECH SHOP & REPARS WERE DONE. SHORTLY AFTER THAT WE RECIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR THE PROBLEM THAT WE HAD REPAIRED. WE ARE STILL TRYING TO GET REIMBURSED FROM CHRYSLER CORP. FOR THAT INCIDENT. AND AS OF TODAY 6/25/00 WE ARE HAVING PROBLEMS AGAIN WITH THE FRONT WHEEL WOBBLING & SHAKING THE CAR WHEN DRIVEN AT 30-45 MPH FOR ABOUT 3 OR 4 WEEKS NOW. WE ARE CURRENTLY SAVING MONEY TO HAVE THAT REPAIRED AGAIN. WE HAVE HAD OTHER PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR BUT DID NOT INCLUDE THEM ON THE INVESTIGATION REPORT BC THEY WERE NOT LIFE THREATING---SUCH AS TRUNK OPENING ON OWN WHILE DRIVING-IT WAS FIXED BUT TRUNK OPEN LIGHT ON DASH PANEL COMES ON & OFF WHEN TRUNK IS CLOSED. --THE A/C LEAKED WATER ON PASSENGER FLOOR & HAS A BAD ODER WHEN PUT ON. ALMOST LIKE URINE. *AK
RECALL 98V184000; VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL, BUT DEALER DID NOT REPLACE THE "O" RINGS, AND VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE DUE A FUEL LEAK. VEHICLE AT THE DEALER.*AK
NO PARTS AVAILABLE TO CORRECT RECALL 98V184000, FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
WHILE TRAVELING 55MPH; STEERING WAS HARD TO CONTROL/ DIFFICULT TO TURN AND VERY STIFF. RACK & PINION WAS CAUSE OF PROBLEM. ALSO, VEHICLE NOT SHIFTING INTO PARK. TRANSMISSION LINE LEAKED FLUID. COUPLING WAS CAUSING A LEAK BETWEEN RUBBER TUBING WHICH WAS INSERTED INTO METAL TUBING. IN ADDITION, FUEL RAIL WOULD ALSO LEAK/ ABS BRAKES STARTED TO LOCK UP WHEN APPLIED/ WATER PUMP WAS LEAKING WATER, AND DOOR STRAP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO BEING OPENED & CLOSING HARD. TAKING VEHICLE TO DEALER TO CORRECT MAJOR PROBLEMS. *AK
MY WIFE WAS ON HER WAY BACK FROM LA. WHEN THE FIRE STARTED IN THE HOOD. LATER WE RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF A RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE DUE TO THE "O" RING FAILURE. I AM WONDERING IF YOU COULD DEVELOP A CAD PROGRAM TO SHOW HOW A CAR COULD CATCH ON FIRE AND TOTAL A VEHICLE. *AK
WITHIN 45 MINUTES A QUARTER TANK OF FUEL LEAKED FROM THE VEHICLE. DEALER HAS REPLACED THE FUEL LINES. *AK

SAME PROBLEM DISCRIBED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID #: 98V18400. THE NEW YORKER MODEL APPEARS TO BE THE ONLY MODEL WITH THE 3.5L ENGINE NOT CITED IN THIS RECALL THIS MUST BE AN OVERSIGHT. PLEASE RECTIFY AND INCLUDE THE NEW YORKER MODEL. THANK YOU
EA98007; FUEL INJECTION ASSEMBLY LEAKAGE. FUEL IS LEAKING FROM THE FUEL RAIL. THE FUEL RAIL WAS REPLACED ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. THE DEALER IS NOT AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AT THIS TIME. *AK
FROM WHAT THE DEALER SERVICE REP TOLD ME THERE ARE MULTIPLE FUEL LEAKS ALONG THE FUEL INJECTOR RAIL WHICH IS CAUSING GASOLINE TO LEAK. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM WITH THIS PARTICULAR ENGINE AND FOUND THIS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THE EAGLE VISION (1993) VEHICLE. THIS CAR HAS THE SAME ENGINE AS THE NEW YORKER (1994). THE EAGLE WAS RECALLED TO FIX THAT PROBLEM. ALSO I HAVE RESEARCHED THE COMPLAINT DATABASE AND FOUND THIS PARTICULAR PROBLEM MANY TIMES ON THE NEW YORKER AND LHS. WHY HAVEN'T THESE VEHICLES BEEN RECALLED TO FIX THIS DEADLY PROBLEM?
PLASTIC FUEL RAIL LEAKING FUEL ONTO HOT EXHAUST AND ENGINE. WHERE THE FUEL PRESSURE TEST PORT ATTACHES TO THE RAIL ALLOWS PLASTIC TUBE TO MOVE AND FLEX CAUSING LEAKAGE AT RAIL.
EA98007, FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY LEAKAGE; WHEN VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT AUTO REPAIR SHOP FOR AIR CONDITIONING SERVICE, MECHANIC NOTICED A LARGE FUEL LEAK ON TOP OF MOTOR. THE FUEL RAIL SYSTEM HAS BEEN REPLACED AT OWNER'S EXPENSE. *AK

CONSUMER WAS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE AND SMELLED A GASOLINE ODOR WHEN THE WEATHER WAS COLD. WHILE TRYING TO START THE VEHICLE ONE MORNING, IT WOULD NOT START, AND CAUGHT FIRE IN THE DRIVEWAY. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. VEHICLE WAS UNREPAIRABLE. VARIOUS OTHER PROBLEMS CONSISTED OF TIE ROD/AIR CONDITIONER AND WATER PUMP. *AK
FUEL RAIL CROSSOVER PIPE DEVELOPED A LEAK AND SPRAYED FUEL OVER TOP OF ENGINE.

FUEL CROSS OVER THE TUBE BETWEEN FUEL RAILS VIBRATES, CAUSING FUEL TO LEAK FROM TUBE SEALS. *AK
THE VEHICLE'S GAS TANK WAS "OUT OF ROUND" AND NOT SEALED WHERE THE FUEL TANK AND FUEL PUMP IS POSITIONED AT, RESULTING IN GAS FUMES ENTERING INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND GAS SPILLAGE. POSSIBLE FIRE HAZARD. *AK
