CHRYSLER PLACED 1993 ABS SYSTEMS ON EARLY PRODUCTION 1994 NEW YORKER MODELS. THE 1993 NEW YORKER HAS BEEN RECALLED FOR THE ABS SYSTEM. CHRYSLER REFUSES TO RECALL THE 1994 NEW YORKER WITH THE 1993 ABS SYSTEM. A CATASTROPHE WAITING TO HAPPEN.*AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 5-6 MPH CONSUMER TRIED TO SLOW DOWN AND BRAKES WERE NOT WORKING, VEHICLE ACCELERATED AND RAN INTO A POLE. THEN, A FEW MONTHS LATER, CONSUMER HAD THE SAME ACCELERATION PROBLEM, BUT VEHICLE DID NOT RUN INTO ANYTHING. CONTACTED DEALER, AND THE DEALER WAS NOT WILLING TO DO ANYTHING.*AK
WHEN PARKING ON A HILL BRAKES AND EMERGENCY BRAKES DID NOT WORK, CAUSING VEHICLE TO ROLL BACKWARDS DOWN THE HILL.*AK
THIS IS INTERROGATIVE. MY WIFE JOINED AN ACCIDENT IN PROGRESS (NO. 3 OF 3 VEHICLES) BECASUE SHE COULDN'T STOP IN TIME. SHE WAS AT 35 MPH STEADY, SAID SHE HAD APPLIED FULL BRAKING. THE NYER WAS PITCHED DOWN WHEN IT CONTACTED THE BUMPER OF A S-10 PICKUP TRUCK. WE HAVE SHEET METAL DAMAGE TO THE HOOD, LEFT FENDER AND EVERYTHING ABOVE THE BUMPER LINE, INCLUDING AC COIL, RADIATOR, FAN, ETC. SHE WAS UNINJURED. NEITHER AIR BAG DEPLOYED. THE SYSTEM CHECK AT ENGINE START HAS ALWAYS BEEN EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED IN THE OPERATOR'S HANDBOOK. MY QUESTION IS, SHOULDN'T THE AIRBAGS HAVE DEPLOYED? IF THEY SHOULD HAVE, WHY DIDN'T THEY AND HOW DO I INSURE THE SYSTEM IS OPERATIONAL BEFORE I RETURN THE CAR TO SERVICE?
ABS LIGHT COMES ON INTERMITTENTLY. PEDAL WILL START TO PULSATE WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED. SOMETIMES WHEN HEADLIGHTS ARE TURNED ON ABS SYSTEM FEELS LIKE IT IS BEING DRAINED.. DEALER SAID THERE WAS NO PROBLEM. DEALER DID TRY TO SAY THAT BRAKES WERE METAL TO METAL VIBRATION. *AK
WHILE TRAVELING 55MPH; STEERING WAS HARD TO CONTROL/ DIFFICULT TO TURN AND VERY STIFF. RACK & PINION WAS CAUSE OF PROBLEM. ALSO, VEHICLE NOT SHIFTING INTO PARK. TRANSMISSION LINE LEAKED FLUID. COUPLING WAS CAUSING A LEAK BETWEEN RUBBER TUBING WHICH WAS INSERTED INTO METAL TUBING. IN ADDITION, FUEL RAIL WOULD ALSO LEAK/ ABS BRAKES STARTED TO LOCK UP WHEN APPLIED/ WATER PUMP WAS LEAKING WATER, AND DOOR STRAP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO BEING OPENED & CLOSING HARD. TAKING VEHICLE TO DEALER TO CORRECT MAJOR PROBLEMS. *AK
WARPED DISK CAUSED PULSATING.
BRAKE LOCK UP CAUSED LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL.
EXPERIENCED ABS MALFUNCTIONING WHILE IN STOP POSITION, BRAKE PEDAL PULSATES, AND ABS LIGHT STAYS ON CONTINUOUSLY. ALSO, TRANSAXLE REPLACED, AND DEFECTIVE ENGINE MOTOR MOUNTS WERE REPAIRED. *AK
ABS FAILURE.
ABS BRAKE FAILURE, COMPUTER MODULE FAILED, CAUSING LOSS OF ABS EFFECTIVENESS, IN FOR REPAIR , PARTS OF ABS CONTROL MODULE REPAIRED. *AK
DEFECTIVE ABS SYSTEM REPLACED.
ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM FAILED.
ABS: ANTI-LOCK BRAKES COME ON WHILE DRIVING WITHOUT DRIVER'S KNOWLEDGE; TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON; ABS SWITCH FAULTY; FEEL OF PULSATION/OVERHEAT. *AK
FRONT DISC ROTORS WEAR OUT EXCESSIVELY, CAUSING VIBRATION. *AK
BRAKES FLUTTER WHEN PRESSURE IS APPLIED. *SD
WHEN BRAKES APPLIED, EXPERIENCE LONG STOPPING DISTANCE, REPLACE PADS. TT
BRAKES FAILED 3 TIMES. *AK
ABS WARNING LIGHT CAME ON, HAD COMPUTER REPLACED. TT
ABS WARNING SIGNAL CAME ON, THEN EXPERIENCED BRAKE LOCK UP. TT
ABS BRAKING SYSTEM FAILED, VEHICLE WENT OUT OF CONTROL, RESULTING IN AN ACCIDENT. *AK
THE ROTORS ARE WARPED AND DO NOT WORK PROPERLY. PLEASE EXPLAIN. TT
BRAKES FAILED, CAUSING ACCIDENT. *AW
ANTI-LOCK BRAKES FAIL TO ENGAGE UPON HARD STOPPING, ALSO SOFT BRAKE PEDAL. *AW
REPLACED ROTORS TWICE. *AK
