I was traveling at south bound on TOLL 130 going 80MPH (which is the speed limit on that road) when my Pacifica immediately slowed down and my accelerator gave out. In addition to my dash flashing that the cruise control was no longer available, but the van also said "Service Charging System" and "Shift to P to Start", the engine light and batter light both came on. I am sure that I almost died as I was in the middle lane and cars were whipping around me since I had slowed down so much, there was an 18 wheeler behind me and one of my righthand side, which is the shoulder I was trying to get to. I was finally able to coast to the shoulder and came to a stop, put the car in park and turned it off. I immediately started researching what the problem could be and I was alarmed to find out that this is an issue that others have had and that Chrysler has failed to issue a recall...I was able to start the car once more and get on to a little back road, after pushing through a barricade off the toll just for safety's sake, and my van broke down again, this time on a little 2 lane road, which thankfully had a little bit of a gravel shoulder. This time, my van took quite a bit longer to get started, but I was not safe where I was. I started it once more and was able to get to a Wal-Mart parking lot where my brother-in-law picked me up so that I could have a chance of making it to see my grandmother who was on her deathbed, I missed my window of opportunity to make it to see her, she died that afternoon. I had to pay an additional tow fee to get the vehicle moved from the parking lot to a Chrysler dealership since it was so far from where I usually go.

Vehicle states "Stop Safely Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon" with a red turtle logo. I have restarted the vehicle, and the warning persists. I am bringing in the car to the dealer next.

The unresolved recall with no remedy stems from an earlier recall is entering its fourth month with no further communications from the manufacturer about the status of the remedy. There has been no compensation provided to car owners with increased carrying costs due to the manufacturing failures, decreased car valuation due to repeated failed attempts to remedy the same recall, nor indirect costs of extended stress and fear. I am unable to park my car by my house due to the fire risk, which has required me to buy monthly parking passes. I am unable to charge my car, which has caused increased gas costs. I previously paid to install a level 2 charger in my home, which I am unable to use. Additionally a concerning electrical noise has started to occur when starting the car or long after turning the car off. I am continually anxious about driving this car with my children, but I have no other choice to continually put all of us at risk. I was driving with my family on the interstate and was exiting when the car shuddered and I lost propulsion. Interior electrical power was still functional. This occurred as the car was switching to gas mode as I had been been driving about 30-35 miles on electric at that point. The gas motor never came on. I was able to roll into a gas station since we were on a bit of a downhill. Shut off car and waited a beat then started car again, battery showed 1% and was able to pull 2 more feet into gas station and off to side before it completely died again (battery at 0%). I feel extremely fortunate that this didn't happen a moment earlier when I was on the expressway and that were able to get off of a busy road. I had the vehicle towed to nearest Chrysler dealer and had a friend drive me and my family to a nearby car rental place. After two weeks at the dealer, we were informed that the issue was likely the Power Inverter Module. We are still without car and waiting for updates from service department.

In March my van stalled as I was turning through a busy intersection with my child in the front seat. We narrowly avoided being t-boned. For a second the dash lit up with lights and then it said to shift to park to start vehicle but I couldn't shift. After finally getting it in neutral some good samaritans helped me push it out of the intersection and while I sat off to the side, after about 15 minutes of getting out and checking under the hood, the car started. We used our own code reader and it threw the PoA79 code. We brought it to Lewisville with an appointment, told them about the stall and they did the Z11 recall work for the fire risk with the battery but say there are no issues with the battery and no codes, but they have us ready for the recall work on Loss of Motive Power as soon as the recall work is available because loss of power is a known issue. They think my stall is related to the recall and needs a software update so hold off. Pick the van up after Easter. 3 months later it stalls again, this time with my child and husband on the freeway! After about 10 minutes of everything flashing, it starts again just as it did before, and the CEL clears. We call and are told that the Loss of Motive Power recall O3A process is now out for the 2018. We have never noticed an unexpected loss of charge. We were charging outside and far from our house, per the recall. No lobster popping up. Make an appointment for the O3A recall work and the van stalls on the way. This time it doesn't restart As I understand it, the transmission issue is that transmission case castings causes the high voltage wires to chafe and short out. We are told that we do not have a transmission or a battery issue, it is the On Board Charging Module has internal damage. They are unable to explain how a van that was at 95% charge and with a 12V that showed it wasn't depleted now has an internally damaged OBCM. And they don't know if that is the fundamental underlying problem with stalls.

While driving at a low speed in a neighborhood, received the message "Service Charging System" then within seconds car completely died. No engine power or electrical systems working, all lights and screens were black. Was able to pull over and park safely.

I was driving on the highway when the check engine light came on and it started running rough. I pulled off the highway and into a parking lot. When I slowed down, I heard a clanging that sounded like metal on metal. After parking, smoke started pouring out from under the hood and it erupted in flames. The vehicle was destroyed.

I was driving on a local road and car suddenly stopped running; accelarator unresponsive; power steering not working either. I was able to pull to side. Car said shift P to start , gear change didn't do anything and blinking, check engine light came up. And “check charging system” light came on. It was very dangerous. After 3-4 minutes I was able to get my car turn off and on and then it drove normal. So I decided to take it in nearby open parking area. It would restart but not do anything even if switched into drive or reverse. Check charging system light on and no power steering again. I had to get it to get it towed the next day from that lot. First tow truck unable to tow due to steering being locked. 2nd tow truck needed help to move car due to steering. Been at dealer for 30 days. They changed charging port but it didn’t work. Now they are changing battery. I don’t want this car back and don’t want to keep making payments on it either. It’s not a safe car.

2108 Hybrid Pacifica stalled a couple of times on freeway on our recent trip . Here are the details : About 2 hours after driving on freeway. - then, dashboard showed few errors and eventually showing "service charging system" - then displaying "shift to P to start" and "D" symbol is flashing. - after this, pacifica van lost power ( pushing accelerating do nothing ) but steering, brake seems OK and I had to steer the car to freeway shoulder and then turn off the car and start again after a few minutes and can start the car again but "engine check light" is on for at least 24 hours after. - After starting again, then a half a hour later, it happened again with same symptoms as above. The car has about 40,000 miles and running in gas mode only. These are very dangerous situation and luckily this time, I had time to steer the Pacifica to a complete stop.

I was driving on I95 in Virginia doing 70mph and the car lost all power. I was able to glide to the side of the interstate and wait for a tow. I had 2 kids and our dog in the car. We live in Maryland and were far from home. It was a very dangerous situation on the should of I95. When the car lost power I got an error message to put the Van into park. The Van is under recall for a fire risk which still hasn't been fixed. This is another issue with the Van. It is currently at Ourisman Chrysler in Clarksville, MD. No answers yet.

This is in regard to the most recent recall on the 2018 Chrysler Pacific Hybrids. The entire reason that we purchased this vehicle, was so that we did not have to spend money on gas, as well as for the environment. It is unacceptable that we are expected to sit and wait with a major potential fire hazard. We live in a gated community where we cannot park the vehicle away from our home. We have a short driveway and my 67 year old Mother sleeps in the room RIGHT next to the driveway. We are not okay just accepting this as it is and think it is completely wrong that people just have to "hope it doesn't catch on fire." This is also already the second or third recall on the vehicle.

This happened the Day after we purchased the 2018 hybrid Pacifica limited.While Driving the van started to stall out (wouldn’t go when pushing gas) and said shift to P(park) to start. Pulled over turned off the van and restarted it, that didn’t fix the problem. Restarted again and it went back to normal but the check engine light is on. Also the battery is dying extremely fast. Within 5 miles it’ll go from 40% to 0%.

MANUFACTURER (CHRYSLER) MAILED ME A LEGAL NOTICE THAT MY VEHICLE COULD CATCH FIRE AND / OR EXPLODE AT ANYTIME WHETHER PARKED, IDLING OR DRIVING BECAUSE OF A DEFECT IN THE HYBRID BATTERY COMPONENTS (INVERTER). THEY TOLD ME NOT TO PARK NEXT TO ANYTHING OR ANYONE, NOT TO ALLOW MOISTURE OF ANY KIND INTO THE VEHICLE AND TO NOT PARK OR STORE IT IN ANY ENCLOSED STRUCTURE LIKE A GARAGE. THEY SAID TO WAIT FOR A FIX FOR THE PROBLEM AS THERE WAS NOT YET RESOLUTION. I RESPONDED TO THEM ASKING FOR A LOANER CAR OR RENTAL AND WAS TOLD NO. IT HAS BEEN ALMOST A YEAR AND STILL NO CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP CAN OFFER A FIX, HOWEVER THEY DID COME OUT WITH A 2020 MODEL THAT WAS BUILT WITHOUT THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY RECALL THAT OUR GOVERNMENT SEEMS TO BE IGNORING. I AM LEFT WITH A LEMON I CANNOT SAFELY STORE PARK OR DRIVE. I PAID 55K FOR THIS HYBRID, WAS TOLD I WOULD GET 80 MPG WHEN I ONLY GET 17 MPG AND I HAVE TO WORRY THAT IF MOISTURE GETS INTO THESE HYBRID BATTERY COMPONENTS BY VEHICLE COULD KILL ME OR OTHERS. IT LOOKS LIKE THE VEHICLE'S 12-VOLT ISOLATOR POST IS COMPROMISED AND NEEDS SOME WORK. THE DEALER ASKED ME TO LEAVE THE VEHICLE FOR 1 WEEK OR MORE TILL THEY CAN RECTIFY THE PROBLEM. I ASKED THE DEALER TO GIVE ME A LOANER VEHICLE. THEY THEN SAID THAT THEY DON'T HAVE LOANER VEHICLE. ONCE WHEN THE LOANER VEHICLE IS AVAILABLE THEY WILL CALL ME. UNTIL THEN THEY SAID I CAN TAKE THE RISK AND DRIVE THE VEHICLE. I CALLED FIAT CHRYSLER RECALL LINE TO COMPLAINT. THEY SAID THAT THE DEALER IS NOT DOESN'T HAVE TO GIVE THE LOANER VEHICLE HOWEVER LONG THEY KEEP MY VEHICLE FOR REPAIR. THEY ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE FINAL REPAIR IS ALSO THERE WHEN IT IS CLEARLY STATED IN NHTSA WEBSITE IT IS NOT AVAILABLE. THEY PUT ME ON HOLD FOR 2 HOURS TO SPEAK TO THE SUPERVISOR WITH STILL NO SUPERVISOR TO SPEAK TO. THE NOTICE THAT CHRYSLER SENT ME CLEARLY STATES THAT THE LOANER VEHICLE WILL BE GIVEN AND THE NOTE IN THE NHTSA WEBSITE SAYS THAT THE LOANER VEHICLE WILL BE GIVEN. THE DEALER SAYS THAT THE RECALL IS NOT A BIG DEAL AND THE CHRYSLER ALSO DOESN'T SEEMS TO BE WORRIED ABOUT IT. THIS IS A VERY CALLOUS ATTITUDE FROM BOTH THE DEALER AND THE COMPANY.

SINCE DECEMBER 2018, WE HAD TO REPLACE THE BATTERY 3 TIMES SINCE THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. THERE WAS SMOKE SMELL COMING FROM THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AND PROBLEMS CORRECTED, BUT THE ENGINE LIGHT HAS BEEN COMING ON MORE THAN 3 OCCASIONS. THE GPS SYSTEM HAS NOT BEEN WORKING SINCE MARCH 2020, BUT THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO FIX THE ISSUES. OUR LOCAL DEALERSHIP SAYS THAT CHRYSLER HAS NOT RESPONDED TO THEIR MULTIPLE REQUESTS FOR THE RADIO REPLACEMENT. *TR

ON AUGUST 7, WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON A STATE HIGHWAY, AROUND 30 MPH, MY VAN SUDDENLY STOPPED AND WOULD NOT START AGAIN. I WAS STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES WHILE THE CAR MADE NOISES AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS AND OTHER DASHBOARD WARNINGS FLASHED. AFTER A FEW MINUTES I WAS ABLE TO RESTART MY CAR TO MOVE IT TO A SAFE LOCATION. MY "MICROMECHANIC" ENGINE LIGHT READER GAVE ME CODES U0401 AND U0100, LOST COMMUNICATION WITH ECM/PCM AND INVALID DATA RECEIVED FROM ECM/PCM- AND SAID THE CAR WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. AFTER ABOUT A WEEK, THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY REBOOTED THE COMPUTER AND TEST DROVE THE CAR ABOUT 15 MILES AND IT WAS WORKING AGAIN. THEY SAID IT WAS SAFE FOR ME TO DRIVE AND HAD ME PICK IT UP. I HAD THE CAR BACK FOR 10 DAYS. ON AUGUST 22, I WAS ATTEMPTING TO LEAVE WORK. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY IN THE PARKING GARAGE. WHEN I STARTED MY CAR, THE SAME THING HAPPENED - IT BEGAN FLASHING AND BEEPING. I WAS UNABLE TO TURN THE CAR OFF OR MOVE THE CAR. WHEN I PUSHED THE IGNITION BUTTON INSTEAD OF TURNING THE CAR OFF IT WOULD RE-CYCLE AND BEGIN BEEPING AGAIN. I RAN THE MICROMECHANIC AND IT GAVE ME THE SAME CODES U0100 AND U0401 DEALING WITH ECM AND PCM. I HAD TO STAY WITH THE CAR 2.5 HOURS TO WAIT FOR THE TOW TRUCK AND THE ENTIRE TIME IT BEEPED AND FLASHED - I WAS UNABLE TO TURN IT OFF. I HAD IT TOWED BACK TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP, WHERE IT STILL IS CURRENTLY. BOTH TIMES THIS OCCURRED THE CAR WAS NOT CHARGED ELECTRICALLY BUT HAD GASOLINE FUEL.

METALLIC BUZZING / VIBRATION DURING MODERATE ACCELERATION. OCCURS OCCASIONALLY AROUND 30 TO 35 MPH BUT ALSO AT HIGHER SPEEDS. VEHICLE HAS BEEN AT DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES WHERE THE BELLY HEAT SHIELD WAS REPLACED, ROCKS WERE REMOVED FROM THE HEAT SHIELD, UNDERCARRIAGE WAS INSPECTED AND PARTS SECURED, AND MOST RECENTLY THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED. ALL OF THE WORK HAS BEEN PERFORMED UNDER WARRANTY AS THE VEHICLE ONLY JUST PASSED 20,000 MILES. EVEN AFTER THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED THE BUZZING SOUND CONTINUES AS BEFORE RESULTING IN ANOTHER TRIP TO THE DEALER. THERE HAVE BEEN NO ISSUES WITH THE OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE YET BUT I AM CONCERNED THAT THE BUZZING / VIBRATION IS INDICATIVE OF A FUTURE ISSUE THAT WOULD RENDER THE VEHICLE INOPERABLE.

LIFT-GATE SPOILER FLEW OFF WHILE DRIVING ON FREEWAY IN APRIL 2019 ON OUR PACIFICA HYBRID WITH 17,000 MILEAGE. THE SPOILER IS A BIG PLASTIC COVER GLUED AND CLAPPED TO THE FOUNDATION. FOR SOME REASON, THE GLUE OR OTHER MECHANISM CONNECTING IT TO THE FOUNDATION WAS DEFECTIVE AND THE STRONG WIND GOING THROUGH THE SPOILER BROKE THE CLAPS. IT DID NOT CAUSE SOME DAMAGE FOR THIS INCIDENTS. BUT IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN THAT SOME CAR MAY BE HIT BY THE SPOILER WHEN IT FLEW OFF.

2018 CHRYSLER PACIFICA LOST POWER DUE TO THE TORQUE CONVERTOR LOCKING UP I KNOW BECAUSE I HAVE THE FREEZE FRAME DATA IN A SNAP ON ZEUS USING THE 18.4 SOFTWARE. IT WAS MOVING AT 39 MILES AN HOUR WHEN THE TRANSMISSION LOCKED UP. CODE IN FREEZE FRAME IS P061B INTERNAL CONTROL MODULE TORQUE CALCULATION PERFORMANCE. THIS IS A GSA GOVERNMENT LEASE VEHICLE. THIS VEHICLE HAS ONLY 6,617 MILES ON IT. IT IS IN A REPAIR SHOP IN EVERETT WASHINGTON THIS VEHICLE WILL BE IN THE SHOP FOR TWO MORE WEEKS. CHRYSLER HAS ENGINEERS COMING OUT TO LOOK AT THE FAILURE BECAUSE THEY ARE UNABLE TO FIGURE OUT WHAT WENT WRONG. THE FAILURE TOOK PLACE AT 9PM ON MONDAY MARCH 18, 2019 ON A TWO LANE ROAD THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD AND PARK IT IN A INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP AND UBER HOME THAT NIGHT. WHEN I WENT OUT TO INVESTIGATE THE NEXT MORNING WAITING FOR THE TOW TRUCK TO SHOW UP I GOT DATA FROM THE VEHICLE AND A VEHICLE HEALTH REPORT. THAT BE ATTACH TO THE EMAIL. IF THE VEHICLE WAS ON THE FREEWAY THINGS WOULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORST. THE VEHICLE HEALTH REPORT WILL SAY 2017 PACIFICA I HAD TO LIE TO THE SCAN TOOL IN ORDER TO GET THE DATA OUT OF IT. THIS IS A 2018 FOR SURE IF THERE A RECALL FOR THIS CAN I GET CREDIT FOR JUST SAY VEHICLE FLEET MANAGER AT NORTHWEST FISHERIES SCIENCE CENTER DISCOVER A FAULT ISSUE WITH THIS CAR. WE TOOK OUR CAR IN FOR RECALL U73 ON SATURDAY MORNING. IT TOOK ABOUT AN HOUR AND HAD NO ISSUES THAT DAY OR THE NEXT DAY. ON MONDAY MORNING, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, AND THE TURTLE ICON APPEARED. WE WERE ON A CITY STREET IN MOTION. WE NEEDED TO "LIMP" HOME - NO MORE THAN 15MPH. WE BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER (SAFFORD, SPRINGFIELD, VA) AND THEY SUPPOSEDLY FIXED IT. THEY SAID IT WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE U73 UPDATE, AND THEY CLEARED SOME CODES AND IT SHOULDN'T HAPPEN AGAIN. TUESDAY MORNING, MORE LIGHTS COME ON IN THE CAR, TALKING ABOUT AIR BAGS, AND THIS TIME THE CAR WOULDN'T MOVE WHILE WE WERE ON THE ROAD.

THE CAR FAILED TO ACCELERATE BEYOND 31 MPH ON A SATE HIGHWAY.I GOT TO A GAS STATION AND TURNED THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON. THE SITUATION WAS TEMPORARILY RESOLVED, BUT THE NEXT DAY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME OUT. DEALER SAYS IT IS CATALYTIC CONVERTER ISSUE AND THE WHOLE SYSTEM MUST BE REPLACED. THE CAR HAS 4000 MILES ON IT.

WE PURCHASED A NEW 2018 CHRYSLER PACIFICA HYBRID ON SEPTEMBER 3RD. YESTERDAY, SEPTEMBER 23RD, WE LEFT TO GO ON A VACATION. LESS THAN 30 MINUTES INTO OUR TRIP (WITH 3 MILES REMAINING ELECTRIC RANGE) WE HEARD A CLUNK AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. AS THE ELECTRIC RANGE WENT OUT WE LOST ALL PROPULSION, AND MY HUSBAND WAS ABLE TO STEER IT ONTO AN EXIT RAMP AS BLACK SMOKE BEGAN BILLOWING FROM BENEATH THE HOOD. WE AND OUR TWO CHILDREN AND MY UNCLE ALL EXITED THE VEHICLE. THE HOOD WAS POPPED AND A HERO UNIT ARRIVED, THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WAS IN FLAMES. WE WERE ASKED TO GET AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE AND THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED AS ANOTHER FIRE TRUCK ARRIVED. KNOWING THE AMOUNT OF LITHIUM ION BATTERIES ON BOARD, A FIRE, ESPECIALLY ONE THAT STARTED INEXPLICABLY, WAS TERRIFYING. 07/23/18 AS I WAS DRIVING MY 2018 CHRYSLER PACIFICA HYBRID AT 55 MPH ON A TWO LANE HIGHWAY WHEN THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHUT OFF AND WOULD NOT RESPOND TO ATTEMPTS TO STEER OR BRAKE. MY TODDLER WAS IN THE CAR WITH ME AND I COULD NOT CONTROL IT. THE DISPLAY MESSAGE INDICATED THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE PUT IN PARK. I ATTEMPTED TO COAST THE VEHICLE OFF THE HIGHWAY AND OUT OF TRAFFIC BUT THERE REALLY ISN'T MUCH OF A SHOULDER AND I DIDN'T REALLY HAVE MUCH ABILITY TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE. I WAS ABLE TO TURN THE SHIFT TO NEUTRAL, DRIVE, AND REVERSE BUT THE CAR DID NOT RESPOND. SEVERAL ATTEMPTS WERE MADE TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTART IT BUT THAT DIDN'T WORK. I ATTEMPTED THE ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE BUTTON BUT IT DID NOT WORK. I CALLED THE NEAREST CHRYSLER DEALER WHICH THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN TAKEN TO A WEEK PRIOR FOR A RECALL. THE SERVICE STAFF GAVE ME THE PHONE NUMBER FOR CHRYSLER ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. IT TOOK AN HOUR AND A HALF FOR THE TOW TRUCK TO COME AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE NEAREST DEALER. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN THERE OVER TWO WEEKS. *DT CONSUMER STATED THE PROBLEM OCCURRED A SECOND TIME WHEN I WENT TO PICK UP THE VEHICLE FOLLOWING THE REPAIR. THEY ASKED TO LEAVE IT THERE FOR FURTHER DIAGNOSIS BUT THEY NEVER DID IDENTIFY WHAT HAPPENED. I HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED ANY PROBLEMS SINCE THAT TIME. UPDATED 10/19/18*JB

THE VEHICLE HAD NO POWER AT A STOPLIGHT. IT WAS LIKE THE VEHICLE HAD COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN, BUT THE POWER DISPLAY WAS STILL ON. I WAS UNABLE TO GO FORWARD AND THE CAR. I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE COMPLETELY AND AFTER ABOUT 30 SECS OR SO, RESTARTED THE CAR AND THEN I WAS ABLE TO REGAIN POWER. NO WARNING LIGHTS OR INDICATORS CAME ON. THEN A BURNT SMELL STARTED COMING FROM THE CAR.

WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 55MPH, ON AN OVERPASS RAMP CONNECTING TWO DIFFERENT FREEWAYS, DRIVING UPHILL AROUND A BROAD TURN, THE CAR SUDDENLY BECAME NON-RESPONSIVE TO PUMPING THE GAS PEDAL OR APPLYING THE BREAKS. STEERING WAS STILL POSSIBLE. I TURNED ON THE HAZARD LIGHTS AND CONTINUED TO STEER THE CAR AROUND THE BEND AS IT DECELERATED (IT WAS 25MPH OR LESS BEFORE I GOT IT RESTARTED). CONCURRENTLY, I SHIFTED INTO REVERSE (I INTENDED TO TURN THE KNOB TO NEUTRAL BUT OVERSHOT DUE TO NERVES), THEN BACK INTO NEUTRAL, AND BACK INTO DRIVE. AT THAT POINT, THE GAS PEDAL BECAME RESPONSIVE AGAIN, AND THE CAR DROVE NORMALLY SUBSEQUENTLY. AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT, THE CAR WAS IN ELECTRIC MODE (ALTHOUGH GIVEN THAT THE CAR WAS GOING UP AN INCLINE ON THE FREEWAY, IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE GAS ENGINE KICKED IN BRIEFLY AND I DIDN'T NOTICE), WITH APPROXIMATELY 50% BATTERY REMAINING. ADDITIONALLY, THE CAR WAS UNDER RECALL (U73/NHTSA 18V-332) FOR A CRUISE CONTROL PROBLEM AND HAD NOT YET HAD THE SOFTWARE UPDATE REQUIRED TO ADDRESS THE RECALL PROBLEM. HOWEVER, CRUISE CONTROL WAS NOT ENGAGED DURING THIS INCIDENT, AND THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME SUBSEQUENTLY THAT THE PROBLEM I REPORTED WAS NOT PART OF THE CRUISE CONTROL RECALL. THE CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW SIX MONTHS PREVIOUSLY, AND ITS FIRST MAINTENANCE APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED THE DAY FOLLOWING THIS INCIDENT. NO ACCIDENT RESULTED FROM THE INCIDENT, AND THE POLICE WERE NOT INVOLVED. DRIVING CONDITIONS WERE OPTIMAL, WITH LIGHT TRAFFIC ON A SUNNY, DRY DAY.

VEHICLE UCONNECT SCREEN LOCKS ONTO FORWARD IMAGE WHILE MOVING FORWARD DOWN THE ROAD OR GOES BLACK ELIMINATING THE ABILITY TO ACCESS ANY OF THE CLIMATE CONTROL OR SOS FEATURES. EXTREMELY DISTRACTING AND REQUIRES VEHICLE TO BE PULLED OVER AND RESTARTED TO CLEAR.

OUR THEATER SYSTEM HAS NOT WORKED PROPERLY SINCE WE PURCHASED THE NEW VEHICLE 4 MONTHS AGO. THE CAR IS AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR, BUT THE SOFTWARE PATCHES HAVE NOT WORKED AND HAVE CORRUPTED THE ENTIRE SYSTEM. CHRYSLER DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM OR WHAT IS CAUSING THE ISSUE. MY BRAND NEW $50,000+ VEHICLE HAS BEEN SITTING AT THE DEALERSHIP WITH NO EXPECTATION ON WHEN THE PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED.
