ENGINE CRADLE RUSTED OUT! Safety risk. Had replaced. NEVER TOLD BY CHRYSLER THAT IT WOULD RUST OUT. NOW THE STEERING WHEEL WON’T MOVE! Power steering fluid full. CANNOT DRIVE IT. I’M A 72YO WOMAN WITH CANCER, NO FAMILY, CANNOT AFFORD EXPENSIVE REPAIRS. I NEED MY CAR REPAIRED.

Engine cradle,motor mount and sub frame completely rotted out. structural integrity at a total loss. Vehicle is no longer road worthy. This problem Chrysler is continuing to ignore is definitely Hazardous for other vehicles and their occupants if catastrophic failure of the above named components were to occur while driving even at normal operating speeds. How many complaints have to be made about this failure of design before something is done? how many people have to endure hardship over loss of transportation due to having repairs done, figuring out ways to cover costs or total loss of vehicle how many people have to be injured due to the problems this vehicle comes with? This problem is not just a few vehicles. It's pretty much every one made within the time period. Something has to be done about this. It's been a problem put in front of your and their face with nothing done and no accountability taken for way too long. It's time for you to do what you are here to do. Safety right? Then do it. This is not the last you will hear about this matter. From me or the thousands of othe Chrysler Pacifica owners nationwide. I myself refuse to go quietly into the dark night. I HAVE HAD TWO PACIFICAS 2004 AND 2005 BOTH DID THE EXACT SAME THING. STARTED WITH AN ODOR OF EXHAUST OR FUMES OF SOME SORT IN THE SAME WEEK. IT LOST POWER, OVERHEATED, HAD TO PULLED HOME. WOULD START IF COLD FOR SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. IN LESS THAN THE SAME WEEK. WENT TO HAVE SOMEONE WORK ON IT AND THE BATTERY WAS DEAD WHERE I HAD TRIED TO START IT TO MANY TIMES/ MY FAULT. HOWEVER AS SOON AS IT GOT CONNECTION THE KEY WASNT EVEN IN THE SWITCH AND THE MOTOR WAS ROLLING OVER. THAT ONE SAT AT THAT TIME. FOUND 05 WITHIN A WEEK OR TWO AND FIGURED ONE FOR PARTS IF BREAK DOWN. NOTHING AT ALL WRONG STARTING OUT. ONLY DROVE THE 05 APPRX 3MONTHS AND STARTED THE EXACT SAME THING FROM ODOR TO OVERHEATING AND I DO NOT KNOW ALOT ABOUT VEHICLES BUT SEEMS TO HAVE JUMPED TIME. HOWEVER I AM A SINGLE WOMAN AND DO NOT CARRY A LICENSE MECHANIC AND IM NOW STRANDED WITH NO VEHICLE TO GET AROUND WHILE I HAVE TWO PACIFICAS SEEM SAME ISSUES JUST DROVE ONE A LITTLE LONGER. I bought a 2005 Chrysler Pacific 3 weeks ago from a dealership.. Engine light came on and car was stalling when I was at a light. Took to a shop to get checked it was 2 censer's.but afterwards still light was on. They checked further the motor mounts and subframe are rusted bad. To a point dangerous.! Of course the place I bought it at refuses to do anything. Not happy!

AFTER CHECKING AROUND SOME OF MY FRIENDS TOLD ME THEY KNEW OF A MECHANIC WHO WOULD BE ABLE TO DO IT PROVIDED I BOUGHT THE PARTS ONLINE. I FOUND THE PARTS ONLINE FOR UNDER $100 FOR FOUR MOTOR MOUNTS I SET UP AN APPOINTMENT THIS SUMMER WITH THE MECHANIC TO HAVE THEM INSTALLED, HE WAS ABLE TO INSTALL THREE OF THE FOUR MOTOR MOUNTS HE WAS NOT ABLE TO INSTALL THE FOURTH ONE BECAUSE OF RUST DAMAGE TO THE SUBFRAME OR ENGINE CRADLE.I CALLED CHRYSLER TO SEE IF THEY WOULD BE ABLE TO HELP ME THEY TOLD ME I NEEDED TO GET IN TOUCH WITH MY DEALER TO SEE IF THEY WOULD BE ABLE TO DO ANYTHING.I WENT TO MY DEALER EXPLAINED MY SITUATION THEY NEVER EVEN LOOKED AT THE CAR AND TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO BEING THAT MY CAR WAS NOT MANUFACTURED IN CANADA AND WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL, (HAVE A NICE DAY) AND SENT ME ON MY WAY.MY CAR HAS JUST UNDER 115000 MILES ON IT AND STILL FAIRLY GOOD SHAPE. MIDAS DID NOT EVEN WANT TO PUT THE BRAKES ON THE CAR, BECAUSE THEY SAY THE CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE IS COMPLETELY RUSTED OUT AND I SHOULD NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE. THEY TOLD ME THAT IT IS ILLEGAL FOR A DEALERSHIP TO SELL UNSAFE VEHICLES WITH THIS MUCH FRAME DAMAGE. THIS IS NOT SOMETHING THAT HAPPENS OVERNIGHT. THEY HAD TO KNOW THIS WHEN THEY SOLD ME THE VEHICLE. ALSO THEY MISLED ME WHEN I PURCHASED THE CAR BY SAYING THAT IT WAS AN ALL-WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE WHEN IT WAS NOT. "TAKATA RECALL" MY ENTIRE UNDERCARRIAGE HAS COMPLETELY RUSTED OUT THE MUFFLER FELL OFF AND THE BOLTS THAT HOLD THE FRAME TO THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR RUSTED OUT AND ARE HANGING THERE UNCONNECTED.THE MECHANIC PUT HIS FINGERS RIGHT THROUGH THE MOTOR MOUNT AND EXPLAINED THAT MY CAR ..AFTER I HAVE MADE MY LAST PAYMENT IS UNDRIVABLE. WE DO NOT IVE IN A STATE THAT HAS SALT ON THE ROADS AND MY CAR IS HOUSED IN A GARAGE AT ALL TIMES.THE REPAIRS ARE OVER 4800. I CANNOT SELL IT AS IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE MECHANIC EXPLAINED IF THE CAR WAS DRIVING FAST ENOUGH AND A BUMP WAS HIT THE MOTOR WOULD COME UP INTO THE DRIVER AND FRONT SEAT KILLING ANYONE IN IT NOT TO MENTION OTHER VEHICLES ON THE ROAD. I NATURALLY WENT OUT TO LOOK AT MINE TO MAKE SURE IT DID NOT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED. AND THAT THE ENGINE COULD JUST FALL OUT AT ANY MOMENT. AND THAT THE CAR WOULD STOP I WOULD LOSE STEERING. HE DID SHOW ME HE PICTURES ON HIS PHONE. AND TOLD ME HE WOULD LOOK FOR A CRADLE FOR MY CAR. SO I WENT HOME TO CHECK THIS PROBLEM OUT ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND THAT OTHER PACIFICA'S WERE HAVING THIS PROBLEM ALSO. SO I THINK CHRYSLER NEEDS TO COMPENSATE US AND GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED BEFORE SOMEBODY IS KILLED. LUCKILY MY MECHANIC LET ME KNOW THIS SO THAT I WOULD NOT BE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY. AFTER REALIZING I COULD MAKE A COMPLAINT I ASK MY MECHANIC IF HE STILL HAD THE PICTURES ON HIS PHONE. NO HE DID NOT HE HAD DROPPED HIS PHONE IN THE WATER WHILE FISHING. MY MECHANIC DISCOVERED THAT THE FRAME IS VERY BADLY RUSTED MAKING THE CAR UNSAFE TO DRIVE. WHEN HE TRIED TO FIND A REPLACEMENT PART, QUICKLY FOUND OUT THAT THIS PROBLEM IS WIDESPREAD ON THIS TYPE OF CAR FROM THE SAME YEAR. WE CANNOT DRIVE THIS CAR WITHOUT A $2500 REPAIR AND THE CAR IS ONLY WORTH ABOUT $4000. SO IT IS BASICALLY JUNK BECAUSE OF THE RUSTED FRAME.

MY 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA STARTED MAKING NOISE IN FRONT PASSENGER SIDE IN THE SUSPENSION AND WHEEL AREA WHILE ON THE INTERSTATE. A SHORT TIME LATER THE FRONT PASSENGER WHEEL STARTED SHAKING AND WOBBLING UNCONTROLLABLY AT SPEEDS OF 65MPH. THEIR WAS NO WARNING! THANK GOD I WAS ENTERING TOWN AND WAS CLOSE TO HOME. I GOT THE CAR HOME AND HAD FRIEND WHO IS A MECHANIC INVESTIGATE THE PROBLEM. WHAT HE FOUND WAS SCARY!!!!! THE WHOLE SUB FRAME AND ENGINE CRADLE WAS ALMOST COMPLETELY GONE DUE TO SEVERE RUSTING IN THE EXACT AREA WHERE THE SUSPENSION COMPONENTS ATTACH TO THE FRAME. SUPER BAD DAY WHEN I SHOWED THE PICTURES TO 3 DIFFERENT LOCAL AUTOMOTIVE SHOPS WITH WELL OVER 100 YRS OF EXPERIENCE COMBINED AND ALL INFORMED ME THAT THE ESTIMATED COST TO REPAIR WAS 4000.00 UP TO 5500.00. COMPLETELY ABSURD! CAR IS WORTHLESS AND ONLY HAS 100,000 MILES ON IT. YOU SHOULD MAKE CHRYSLER OWN UP TO EVERY PACIFICA THAT HAS THIS PROBLEM, NOT JUST A FEW THAT WAS MANUFACTURED IN A FEW MONTHS. THEIR IS OVERWHELMING EVIDENCE THAT THEY DIDN'T COAT THE FRAME PROPERLY. I WILL BE SHARING MY PICTURES AND WHEN YOU SEE THEM ASK YOURSELF IF YOU WOULD WANT YOUR FAMILY DRIVING THESE CARS AND HAVING TO SPEND A VERY LARGE AMOUNT OF MONEY TO FIX THEM PROPERLY. CHRYSLER IS DOING NOTHING BECAUSE THE NHTSA ISN'T MAKING THEM. THIS IS A REAL PROBLEM THE SUB-FRAME THAT HOLDS THE ENGINE TO THE CAR IS RUSTED THROUGH THE ENGINE CRADLE IS RUSTED THRU AND WILL BECOME A HAZARD TO DRIVE WITHOUT REPAIRS THE CARS ARE DANGEROUS TO DRIVE BECAUSE THE ENGINES CAN FALL OUT.

OUR VEHICLE HAS 88,000 MILES AND IT JUST FAILED A SAFETY INSPECTION BECAUSE THE ENGINE CRADLE IS ROTTING/RUSTED AND THE ENGINE IS IN JEOPARDY OF FALLING OUT OF THE CAR. THE DEALER (GOOD BROTHERS DODGE) ACKNOWLEDGES THE SAFETY CONCERN AND THAT CHRYSLER HAS HAD PROBLEMS WITH THESE. THEY SUPPLIED A $3,200 ESTIMATE TO REPAIR. ACCORDING TO THE DEALER, THE ENGINE COULD FALL OUT WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE VEHICLE SHOULDN'T BE DRIVEN. THERE APPEARS TO BE A PENDING CLASS-ACTION LAWSUIT REGARDING THIS VERY ISSUE AND CHRYSLER UNWILLINGNESS TO ACKNOWLEDGE AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE DEFECT AND SAFETY HAZARD.

I UNDERSTAND MY VEHICLE IS ALMOST 12 YEARS OLD, I EXPECT SOME RUST TO BE THERE BUT WHEN YOU SEE HOLES BIG ENOUGH TO STICK YOUR HAND INSIDE, IT'S A PROBLEM!! OFFICIAL CHRYSLER SERVICE REPAIR SHOP HAS BEEN DOING MY OIL CHANGES EVERY 3 MONTHS - 4 TIMES A YEAR SINCE 2005 WHEN I PURCHASED THE CAR. NOT ONCE HAS THEIR MECHANIC MENTIONED THE RUST OF THE CROSS MEMBER. I ONLY FOUND OUT AND TOOK PICTURES THIS WEEK WHEN I HAD A LOCAL SHOP CHANGE MY BREAKS AND DO TRANSMISSION SERVICE AND THEY SHOWED ME THE RUST, COULD NOT BELIEVE THAT NO ONE EVER MENTIONED THIS AS IT WAS EXTREME WITH CRACKS AND HOLES AND THAT CHRYSLER IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE REGARDING RUST ON CROSS MEMBER DUE TO THEM NOT PROPERLY COATING THE ENGINE CRADLE. CHRYSLER HAS HAD CERTAIN VIN #'S RECALLED, BUT CLAIM NOT MINE THOUGH BUILD IN 2004, I AM IN A SNOW BELT STATE ( NY). THEY DON'T WANT TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE CAR, DANGEROUS AND ENGINE CAN FALL OUT - COULD COST $4000-5000 TO REPAIR FRONT AND BACK - AND UNFORTUNATELY I DON'T HAVE FINANCES TO PURCHASE A NEW CAR. I JUST WANT MY CAR COVERED UNDER THEIR WARRANTEE. THIS PROBLEM DID NOT HAPPEN OVER NIGHT. I ONLY HAVE 127,000 MILES AND RARELY DRIVE IN THE SNOW AS IT IS AWFUL IN THE SNOW.

MECHANIC LIFTED MY 2005 PACIFICA (150,000+ MILES), TO CHANGE WHAT WE THOUGHT WAS A BAD CRANK SHAFT SENSOR. WHILE ON LIFT, NOTICED THE ENGINE CRADLE WAS OVER 75% CRACKED AND RUSTED. HE ADVISED THIS IS A VERY SEVERE DRIVING HAZARD FOR ME AND MY 3 CHILDREN TO DRIVE AND DUE TO THE CRACKING, THE ENGINE COULD FALL AT ANY TIME. WE HAD BEEN ON A ROAD TRIP AND WERE DRIVING HOME. WE WERE MAKING A STOP TO GET GAS AND SAW SMOKE COMING OUT FROM THE ENGINE AREA. WE SMELT SOMETHING BURNING AND FOUND THAT THE FIREWALL INSULATION HAD FALLEN DOWN ON THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND BEGAN TO BURN. WE WERE ABLE TO GET THE INSULATION PULL OUT AND AWAY FROM THE CONVERTER BEFORE IT CAUSED MAJOR DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. IF WE HAD NOT STOPPED THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN A FIRE AND DESTROYED THE VEHICLE. WE CONTACTED THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NO RECALL AND THE PART WAS OBSOLETE AND THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING FOR US AND ALSO STATED THAT THE CAR WAS FINE AND COULD STILL BE DRIVEN. THE INSULATION IS THERE FOR A REASON AND THIS WAS AN UNACCEPTABLE RESPONSE FROM CHRYSLER. WE HAVE STILL BEEN TRYING TO GET RESOLUTION FROM CHRYSLER AND ALSO CALLED THEIR CARE CENTER AND WAS GIVEN THE SAME RESPONSE THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. AND PROVIDED A PHONE NUMBER FOR A DEALERSHIP THAT DEALS WITH MOPAR PARTS. AGAIN WAS TOLD THAT THE PART WAS OBSOLETE AND NOT AVAILABLE.

ENGINE CRADLE RUSTED OUT AND I'VE BEEN TOLD IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. OCTOBER 2015 I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO HERITAGE CHRYSLER AT 9219 HARFORD ROAD -BALTIMORE, MD 21234 BECAUSE IT STOPPED RUNNING. I GOT IT BACK IN DECEMBER 2015 AFTER THEY PUT IN A TIMING BELT AND REPLACED THE ENGINE. A WEEK AFTER GETTING IT BACK I HAD A LEAK. I TOOK IT IN AND THEY TOLD ME THAT I NEEDED TO HAVE A TRANSMISSION AXLE SEAL REPLACED. I TOOK IT TO GLEN BURNIE TRANSMISSION TO HAVE THE SEAL REPLACED AND THEY WOULD NOT DO THE WORK. THEY SHOWED ME HOW THE ENGINE CRADLE HAD RUSTED AND THEY WERE AFRAID THE ENGINE CRADLE WOULD BREAK IF THEY REMOVE IT. I WAS INFORMED THAT IT WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE BECAUSE I COULD HIT A BUMP OR POTHOLE AND LOOSE THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION. THEY COULD NOT BELIEVE HERITAGE CHRYSLER WOULD PUT IN AN ENGINE WITH THE CRADLE LOOKING LIKE THIS. I CALLED MR. ANDERSON (THE SERVICE MANAGER AT HERITAGE) AND HAVE YET TO RECEIVE A RETURN CALL BACK FROM HIM. I HAVE THE PICTURES TAKEN OF THIS PROBLEM I CONTACTED CHRYSLER ONLINE AND WAS TOLD NOTHING CAN BE DONE. I CALLED CHRYSTLER WITH THE VIN # AND WAS TOLD THIS 1 WASN'T PART OF THE RECALL EVEN THOUGH IT WAS THE SAME YEAR AND MAKE OF THE RECALL. I OWE 4,400$ ON THE CAR AND NOW AM TOLD THE REPAIRS WOULD EXCEED 5,000$. I FINANCED IT FOR 6,455$ AT THE START. I NEVER RECEIVED ANY NOTIFICATION FROM CHRYSLER REGARDING THIS SAFETY PROBLEM.

THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH THESE VEHICLES AFTER I FURTHER LOOKED INTO THE ISSUE THAT OTHERS WERE HAVING WITH THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE PICTURES OF THIS ISSUE. THIS IS KNOWN AS CRADLE ROT. THE LOWER MOTOR MOUNT OF THE ENGINE IS BOLTED INTO THIS SUBFRAME. AND IF CONTINUES TO GET WORSE THE ENGINE CAN FALL OUT OF THE VEHICLE. NOT ONLY I HAVE 3 HOLES IN IT THERE IS A LOT OF RUST ON THIS SUBFRAME THAT LOOKS COULD BE MORE OF AN ISSUE IN THE YEARS TO COME. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND THRU ALL THE YEARS OF BEING UNDER VEHICLES THIS IS BY FAR ONE OF THE WORSE I HAVE EVER SEEN. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE NOW DRIVING THIS CAR. ESPECIALLY WITH MY FAMILY IN IT. THIS CAR MAY BE 10YRS OLD BUT HAS LOW MILES AND IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. THE GARAGE SUBMITTED THE PICS 10 TIMES BEFORE CHRYSLER RECEIVED THEM. ACCORDING TO CHRYSLER THEY WILL NOT FIX THIS ISSUE AS MY VEHICLE IS TOO OLD. I HAVE A LETTER ISSUED IN NOV 2010 THAT SAID THIS EXACT PROBLEM WAS AN ISSUE AND THAT THEY WERE EXTENDING THE WARRANTY. MY VEHICLE FALLS INTO THE WARRANTY GUIDELINES AND THEY ARE TELLING ME IT DOES NOT COVER MY VIN. THEY HAD MY VIN LONG BEFORE THEY REQUESTED THE PICS, WHY DID I HAVE TO WAIT 2 MONTHS TO HEAR THEY WOULDN'T FIX IT THEN? I AM NOT HAPPY AS THE LETTER CLEARLY STATES "THIS ENGINE CRADLE EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERAGE APPLIES TO CHRYSLER PACIFICA MODEL YEARS 2004-2005." WHY ARE THEY NOT COVERING THIS IF I EVEN HAVE A LETTER SAYING THEY WILL? THE VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND I HAVE HAD TO SINCE RENT ANOTHER VEHICLE AND AM OUT THE COST FOR THAT BECAUSE THEY HAVE TAKEN 2 MONTHS TO REPLY WITH A NO ANSWER. I WANT THIS FIXED. THERE IS NOTHING ELSE WRONG WITH THE CARE. THE BODY IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND WILL RUN ANOTHER 100K MILES AT LEAST! ON ROUTINE CHECK BY MY MECHANIC, HE NOTICED THAT THE ENGINE CRADLE HAD RUSTED SO BADLY THAT HE CAN STICK HIS FIST THROUGH ONE SECTION. CALLED CHRYSLER CORPORATE AND OPENED UP A CASE WITH THEM. THEY TOLD ME TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A "DIAGNOSTIC". CALLED CHRYSLER BACK AND TOLD THEM THE PACIFICA WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULD CALL TO GET THE RESULTS. THEY REFUSED TO SPEAK WITH THE DEALERSHIP AND TOLD ME I WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THAT THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE PART. WHY SEND ME FOR A DIAGNOSTIC THEN?? JUST TO GET MY $125 DOLLARS?? I OWN A 2005 PACIFICA LIMITED, I PURCHASED THIS CAR IN 2009 FROM A CHRYSLER DEALER. I HAVE TAKEN THIS CAR BACK TO THE SAME DEALER WHO SOLD ME THE CAR FOR SERVICING (OIL CHANGE, REPAIRS, ECT). NOT ONCE WAS I INFORMED (DURING THE PURCHASE OR ANY TIME DURING SERVICING THE PACIFICA) ABOUT THE ROTTING SUBFRAME. I HAVE ALL OF MY RECORDS SHOWING THE INSPECTION UNDERNEATH WITH NO MENTION OF THE ROTTING/RUSTED SUBFRAME. THIS CAR BELONGS TO MY WIFE AND SHE DRIVES OUR TWO KIDS IN THIS CAR (NOT ANYMORE). AFTER REVIEWING OTHER SIMILAR COMPLAINTS I AM VERY UPSET AND FRUSTRATED WITH THIS WHOLE SITUATION. SPOKE WITH CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE LAST YEAR AND WAS TOLD THAT MY PACIFICA WAS BUILT/ ASSEMBLED IN DELAWER THEREFORE MY CAR IS NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL . I FOUND SEVERAL CAR WITH THE SAME ISSUE, MY MECHANIC PLACED THE CAR UP ON THE LIFT AND GOT THE SHOCK OF HIS DAY. THE WHOLE ENGINE CRADLE WAS RUSTED AND CORRODED. I COULD PUT MY HAND THROUGH IT, IT WAS SO CORRODED. ON 6/23/2015 I BROUGHT MY CAR (2005 PACIFICA) FOR A YEARLY INSPECTION, HOWEVER THE CAR DID NOT PASS INSPECTION DUE TO STRUCTURAL INSUFFICIENCY. THE FRONT SUB FRAME WAS ROTTED (ENGINE MOUNTS TO THIS) INDICATING THERE IS A GREAT RISK OF THE ENGINE FALLING OUT OF THE VEHICLE AS IT IS BEING DRIVEN AND INCREASING THE RISK OF A POTENTIAL ACCIDENT. MY HUSBAND CONTACTED THE DEALER WE PURCHASED THE VECHILE FROM IN MAY 2008 WITH THE INFORMATION I WAS GIVEN AT THE INSPECTION CENTER AND HE WAS TOLD TO CONTACT CHRYSLER DIRECTLY. WHEN HE CONTACTED CHRYSLER THEY TOLD HIM ONLY A SMALL AMOUNT OF VEHICLES WHERE AFFECTED WHEN THE COMPLETE STEP TO PROVIDE RUST COATING TO THE FRONT SUB FRAME OCCURRED AND THAT THE PREVIOUS OWNER WAS NOTIFIED. CHRYSLER CLAIMS THIS DEFECT ONLY AFFECTED CARS MANUFACTURED FROM MARCH 2004-APRIL 2004. ACCORDING TO THE MANUFACTURES TAG ON MY VEHICLE DOOR MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED IN MAY OF 2004, HOWEVER MY REGISTRATION STATES IT'S A 2005. I HAVE CONTACTED A LAWYER TO BE PART OF A CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST CHRYSLER. I WAS GIVEN A QUOTE OF $4500 TO HAVE THIS PART REPLACED SO THE VEHICLE WILL PASS INSPECTION.

TOOK VEHICLE IN FOR OIL CHANGE AND SERVICE TECH ASK ME TO COME LOOK AT THE RUSTED ENGINE FRAME CRADLE. YOU COULD LATTERLY PUSH YOUR FINGER THROUGH THE RUSTED FRAME. MY ON LINE INVESTIGATION LED ME TO FIND OUT THAT ALL CHRYSLER PACIFICA'S FROM 2004 TO 2008 HAD NOT BEEN PROPERLY COATED AT THE FACTORY, PLUS THE WATER DRAINING FROM AC WAS DRAINED IN THIS SAME AREA. THE END RESULT IS THE ENGINE WILL EVENTUALLY FALL OUT. CHRYSLER DID A RECALL ON NOV. 9TH 2010, BUT THEN RESCINDED THAT TO ONLY INCLUDE VEHICLES BUILT BETWEEN FEB. 23RD 2004 AND MARCH 31ST 2004. I HAD MY MECHANIC WELD A PLATE ON SOME OF THE MAJOR HOLES, BUT IT WAS SO RUSTY HE COULD HARDLY FIND ANY GOOD METAL TO WELD TO. I AM TOLD THIS REPAIR IS 4000.00 TO 5000.00 DOLLARS HARDLY SEEMS FAIR ON A CAR THAT IS HOUSED IN A GARAGE DAILY WITH ONLY MY WIFE DRIVING TO AND FROM WORK WITH WHAT I WOULD CALL VERY LOW MILEAGE. THE SUBFRAME/ENGINE CRADLE OF MY CAR IS COMPLETELY RUSTED THROUGH. THIS ISSUE CAME UP A FEW YEARS AGO AND CHRYSLER SAID BECAUSE MY CAR WAS BUILT AFTER 2/23/04-3/31/04 IT WAS NOT PART OF THEIR RECALL/EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THIS KNOWN ISSUE. I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR ANNUAL INSPECTION LAST WEEK (I PERSONALLY PAID FOR THE REPAIRS THE LAST TIME) AND THE SUBFRAME IS RUSTED THROUGH ON THE OTHER SIDE AND ON THE "H" BAR. AGAIN, CHRYSLER SAID THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO AND THAT BECAUSE MY CAR WAS BUILT 8/19/04 (OUTSIDE THE RECALLED VEHICLES) THEY COULD NOT HELP. MY CAR WAS RUNNING GREAT, SUDDENLY ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH CAME ON- CAR STILL RAN FINE UNTIL I PARKED IT, AND COULDN'T GET IT TO COME OUT OF GEAR. NEEDLESS TO SAY I TRIED TO FIND OUT IF THERE WAS A RECALL- THERE MUST BE, MY CAR IS ONLY 9YRS OLD AND SHOULDN'T BE READY FOR THE SCRAP YARD. WELL IT TURNS OUT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE ENGINE CRADLE BUT ONLY FOR A SELECT NUMBER OF PACIFICA'S WHICH OF COURSE DID NOT INCLUDE MINE. I HAVE A 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA AND I WAS EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH A "CLICKING NOISE" COMING FROM UNDERNEATH THE FRONT END OF MY CAR. UPON INSPECTION BY MY MECHANIC IT BECAME EVIDENT THAT THE "ENGINE CRADLE" WHICH HOLDS UP ENGINE WAS COMPLETELY ROTTED THROUGH WITH ABOUT 80% OF VISIBLE CORROSION (I REALLY WISH I COULD ACTUAL ATTACH PICTURES OF CORROSION PROVIDED TO ME BY MY MECHANIC). UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION, I DISCOVERED THAT THIS "ENGINE CRADLE" CORROSION PROBLEM HAS BEEN ACKNOWLEDGED BY CHRYSLER AND AN EXTENDED WARRANTY WAS ISSUED TO REPAIR THIS PART FOR 04 AND 05 PACIFICA'S. EXTENDED WARRANTY LETTER ID IS: 0004617/#45543/X26...HOWEVER, WHEN I CONTACTED CHRYSLER, I WAS INFORMED THAT BASED ON THE VIN # OF MY CAR, I DID NOT QUALIFY FOR CHRYSLERS EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THIS ISSUE (10 YRS OR 150,000 MILES) - THE LETTER CHRYSLER ISSUED FOR THIS EXTENDED WARRANTY CLEARLY STATES THAT IT COVERS 2004-2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA'S, AND EVEN THOUGH I FALL WITHIN THE MODEL YEAR, GEOGRAPHICAL REGION, AND THE 10YR/150,000MILE GUIDELINES OF EXTENDED WARRANTY, CHRYSLER CLAIMS THAT MY 2005 WAS NOT MANUFACTURED WITHIN SOME NARROW MANUFACTURING WINDOW TO QUALIFY FOR THIS EXTENDED WARRANTY. A LETTER WAS SENT TO SOME 2004-2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA OWNERS THAT THE FRONT ENGINE CRADLE AND SUSPENSION MOUNT FRAME WARRANTY WAS BEING EXTENDED TO 15 YEARS OR 150,000 MILES TO OWNERS IN STATES THAT USE ROAD SALT BECAUSE OFF CORROSION PROBLEMS. THEY GO ON TO CARELESSLY EXPLAIN THAT IF YOUR ARE NOT EXPERIENCING VIBRATION AND SHAKING YOU NEED TO DO NOTHING-- BY THE TIME ITS THAT BAD ITS ALMOST TO LATE! I STOPPED DRIVING THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY AND CALLED THE PHONE # LISTED ON THE NOTIFICATION LETTER TWICE, BOTH TIMES THEY DENIED A PROBLEM BECAUSE IT WAS NOT LISTED AS A RECALL ON THEIR WEB SITE AND BESIDES MY VEHICLE DID NOT FALL INTO THE VIN BLOCK ?? THERE ARE CASES LISTED ON THE INTERNET WHERE STATE DMV INSPECTION STATIONS HAVE FAILED THESE VEHICLES BECAUSE THEY WERE UNSAFE TO DRIVE BECAUSE OF FRAME CORROSION. I AM HAVING THE ENGINE CRADLE REPLACED AT MY EXPENSE. HOW CAN A MANUFACTURER HAVE SUCH A FLIPPANT ATTITUDE ABOUT A KNOWN SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE? DOES THIS FALL UNDER A HIDDEN WARRANTY OR RECALL.

2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA THROTTLE REQUIRES EXCESSIVE FORCE TO DEPRESS CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO LURCH FORWARD WHEN THE THROTTLE FINALLY MOVES. THEY SEEMED TO HAVE PRIOR KNOWLEDGE OF THE ISSUE AND REPAIRED IT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN FOR REPAIRS AFTER STRIKING A DOG (UNRELEATED TO THE DEFECT). NOW THE ISSUE HAS RETURNED AND WHEN MY WIFE CALLED TO SCHEDULE SERVICE TO HAVE THE ISSUE REPAIRED AGAIN THE DEALERSHIP WOULDN'T SCHEDULE A TIME TO REPAIR THE DEFECT AND ACTUALLY ACTED AS IF THEY WEREN'T AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WOULD NEED SEVERAL HOURS TO TROUBLESHOOT THE ISSUE PRIOR TO REPAIRING IT. I RESEARCHED THE ISSUE ONLINE AND EVIDENTLY THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH THE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY WHICH TYPICALLY TAKES AN HOUR OF LABOR TIME TO TREAT THE SYMPTOM WHICH EVENTUALLY RETURNS. IT ALSO SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE WITH THE PACIFICA. THE ISSUE WITH OUR VEHICLE IS BECOMMING SERIOUS AND NOW THAT OUR LOCAL DEALERSHIP IN LUGOFF, SC SEEMS TO HAVE NO DESIRE TO HELP US I'M NOT SURE WHERE TO TAKE IT FOR REPAIR.

I WAS DRIVING ME CHRYSLER PACIFICA AND NOTICED A SMELL OF FUMES AND WHEN I STOPPED FOR A LIGHT AND PROCEEDED THE CAR MADE A RUMBLING NOISE AS IF I WAS GOING OVER GRATING WHICH I WASN'T. THEN I NOTICED S,OKE COMIN OUT OF THE HOOD. I AT FIRST THOUGHT IT WAS OVERHEATING BUT MY TEMPERATURE GAUGE WAS NOT ON HOT. I WENT TO A GAS STATION AND THEY SAID IT WAS PROBABLY A LITTLE OIL SPILLED AND THAT WAS IT. IT HAD STOPPED. I WENT TO MY DESTINATION, TURNED CAR OFF AND CAME BACK 5 MINUTED LATER AND CAR STARTED UP FINE. PROCEEDED BACK ON HIGHWAY AND AGAIN SMELLED FUMES. SUDDENLY CAR JUST CEASES ON HIGHWAY. THANK GOD I HAD MY EMERGENCY LIGHTS ON AND I WAS IN THE RIGTH LANE GOING VERY SLOW. I PULLED OVER AT WHICH TIME SMOKE WAS BILLOWING OUT OF THE HOOD AND FIRE WAS COMING OUT FROM UNDER THE CAR. I CALLED 911 AND CAR BURST INTO FLAMES! AUGUST OF 2007 I BROUGHT MY CAR TO DEALER BECAUSE I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE ON THE FUEL PUMP MODULE AND THEY FIXED IT. THANK GOD I WASN'T IN THE LEFT LANE OR THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN A SEVERE ACCIDENT AND MY DAUGHTER AND I MIGHT NOT HAVE GOTTEN OUT IN TIME.

I PURCHASED A 2005 PACIFICA TOURING WITH AWD IN THE SUMMER OF 2006. THREE TIMES MY CAR HAS HAD DIFFICULTIES WHEN THERE WAS A DUSTING OF SNOW BLOWING OVER THE ROAD. THE 1ST INCIDENT WAS ON JAN. 24 2007, THE FRONT END OF MY VEHICLE STARTED TO LOSE CONTROL AND FINALLY I WENT INTO A SPIN. I WAS IN THE LEFT LANE OF A 2 LANE ROAD HEADING SOUTH. MY CAR SPUN IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE IN THE RIGHT LANE, THROUGH THE DITCH, AND FINALLY ENDED UP IN THE TREES ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DITCH. I SUFFERED ONLY MINOR INJURIES-NECK SPRAIN, BUT I TOOK OUT A HIGHWAY SIGN AND A TREE. DAMAGES TO MY CAR TOTALED OVER $11,000, I GOT IT BACK FROM THE BODY SHOP 1 MONTH AFTER THE ACCIDENT. THE 2ND TIME I WAS BY MYSELF, THE 3RD TIME I HAD MY 1 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER IN THE BACK SEAT, BOTH TIMES I WASN'T DRIVING FAST, THE SECOND TIME IT KEPT SWAYING EVEN AFTER SLOWING DOWN TO 30 MPH. THIS HAS CAUSED ME A LOT OF CONCERN SO MY HUSBAND STARTED HAVING TO DRIVE ME TO WORK DURING THE WINTER MONTHS. NOW WE ARE PLANNING TO SELL THE PACIFICA BECAUSE OF THE POOR GAS MILEAGE. I DON'T FEEL COMFORTABLE SELLING THIS VEHICLE WITHOUT REASSURANCE THAT THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. RECENTLY THE FRONT END HAS STARTED TO MAKE NOISE EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE ALSO. IT MAKES A LOW THUDDING SOUND THAT MAKES MY EARS FEEL LIKE THEY'RE GOING TO POP. MY HUSBAND TRIED PUTTING THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND TURNING THE IGNITION OFF, BUT IT STILL KEPT MAKING THE NOISE. IT FIRST STARTED ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO AND I'VE HEARD IT THREE TIMES, WE'VE ALSO HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE BLINKERS FAILING TO TURN OFF.

A SMALL PIECE OF ROAD DEBRIS ( 1X4 BOARD) CONTACTED THE UNDERSIDE OF MY 2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA PUNCTURING THE FUEL TANK. THE TANKS IS HUNG LOWER THAN THE SURROUNDING CHASSIS COMPONENTS AND DOES NOT HAVE ANY TYPE OF SHIELD OR SKID PLATE, LEAVING IT RATHER VULNERABLE TO DAMAGE FROM ROAD DEBRIS. FURTHERMORE THE TANKS IS LOCATED CLOSE TO THE EXHAUST AND CATALYTIC CONVERTER. COST TO REPLACE THE TANK WAS IN EXCESS OF $1000.00. THE LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER FELT THERE WAS NO PROBLEM WITH THE DESIGN AND THAT THERE IS NO FIX AVAILABLE TO PREVENT THIS FROM RE-OCCURRING. FURTHERMORE THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP HAD NO KNOWLEDGE ON ANY REPORTING SYSTEM WITHIN DAIMLER CHRYSLER TO WHOM WE COULD REPORT OUR CONCERNS. *JB

2005 CHRYSLER PACIFICA TOURING. HAVE HAD THE CAR 4 MONTHS. THIS IS OUR THIRD CD/DVD PLAYER. WE HAVE HAD MUSIC CDS BECOME JAMMED TWO TIMES AND THE DEALER HAS HAD TO REPLACE THE UNITS. CURRENTLY NOT USING THE PLAYER FOR MUSIC OR DVDS, TRYING TO AVOID THE PAIN OF DEALING WITH THE DEALERSHIP.
