TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING AT UNKNOWN SPEEDS, THE RPMS DECREASED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. ADDITIONALLY, THE PASSENGER SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT WAS FLICKERING. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO KEY CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE (2020 N DETROIT ST, XENIA, OH 45385) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE EXHAUST GAS RE-CIRCULATION VALVE AND THE COMPUTER MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,540.

WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, CAR LOST POWER AND STEERING BECAME VERY DIFFICULT. AFTER REACHING A STOP I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND WAS ABLE TO RESTART IT. THIS HAS NOW HAPPENED ON 5 SEPARATE OCCASIONS, WITH CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE. DEALERSHIP SERVICE WAS NOT HELPFUL IN REMEDYING THIS PROBLEM. ADDITIONALLY, DESPITE RECALLS FOR THIS PROBLEM IN PREVIOUS YEARS, THERE IS NO APPARENT SOLUTION FOR THIS. THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED BOTH IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD AND ON SURFACE STREETS, WHICH MAKE THIS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY HAZARD AS THERE IS MINIMAL (IF ANY) OPPORTUNITY TO GET THE VEHICLE TO A SAFE LOCATION TO RE-START. I HAVE HAD REGULAR SERVICE TO THE VEHICLE AND IT HAS BEEN USED PRIMARILY FOR WORK AND ERRANDS. HOWEVER, THE MOTOR MOUNTS HAVE HAD TO BE REPLACED 3 TIMES AND THIS LATEST ISSUE HAS COMPOUNDED THE PROBLEM. *TR

SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED IN TWO MONTHS. DRIVING IN DRY, PLEASANT WEATHER CONDITIONS ON RESIDENTIAL ROAD LESS THAN 30 MPH. CAR STALLED--LOST POWER STEERING, BRAKES, ETC. OIL LIGHT DEFINITELY WAS ON. COASTED TO SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TURNED CAR OFF THEN ON. CAR STARTED RIGHT BACK UP. OIL LIGHT WAS OFF NOW. TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC, WHO SAID NO COMPUTER CODE WAS GENERATED, ALTHOUGH THERE WAS AN ABS CODE (WHICH APPEARED TO BE TOTALLY UNRELATED). ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY APPEARED CLEAN, BUT TOOK IT APART AND CHECKED IT. THIS IS A DANGEROUS CONDITION SIMILAR TO OTHER STALLING PROBLEMS I HAVE READ ABOUT ON 2004-06 PACIFICAS, AND THAT HAD LED TO A RECALL ON OLDER MODELS. 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. CONSUMER STATES EXPERIENCE WITH MECHANICAL PROBLEMS. *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED AT 2,900 MILES, A SMOKE CONDITION DEVELOPED IN THE VEHICLE'S ENGINE. A DIAGNOSTIC REVEALED THE FRONT AXLE SEAL WAS DEFECTIVE. AT APPROXIMATELY 3,800, THE SMOKE CONDITION DEVELOPED AGAIN AND THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THAT THE POWER TRANSFER UNIT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AT 25,893, THE POWER TRANSFER UNIT HAD TO BE REMOVED AND REPLACED AFTER IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THERE WAS A LEAK IN AN INPUT SEAL. AT 26,906 MILES, THE ENGINE MOUNT WAS REPLACED; AT 48,062 MILES, THE BLOWER MOTOR WAS REPLACED; AT 48,490 MILES, THE BLEND AIR DOOR OF THE BLOWER WAS REPLACED AND THE REAR AXLE SEALS WERE REPLACED DUE TO LEAKS; AT 63,852 MILES, THE PVC VALVE, FUEL PUMP, EGR VALVE AND BATTERY WERE REPLACED AND A SHORT IN THE WIRING TO THE ALTERNATOR WAS REPAIRED; AT 65,479, THE VEHICLE BROKE DOWN AND HAD TO BE TOWED. IT WAS DETERMINED THE COMPUTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AT 82,439 MILES, THE MOTOR MOUNT FAILED AND WAS REPLACED, AN ISOLATER WAS INSTALLED AND POWER TRANSFER UNIT WAS LEAKING AGAIN. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER, AFTER DRIVING IT FOR 15 MINUTES, BECAUSE IT WAS IN WORSE CONDITION THAN WHEN SHE LEFT IT WITH THE DEALER. THE ENGINE WAS RACING AT 6000 RPMS, WHILE DRIVING AT 50 MPH, THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE AND A BANGING NOISE COULD BE HEARD UPON TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL. THE DEALER STATED THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. HOWEVER, WHEN THE CONSUMER DROVE THE VEHICLE FOR 20 MILES, THE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER, AND AFTER AN INSPECTION, THE DEALER STATED THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE RELAY WAS FAULTY. THE CONSUMER WAS ASSURED THE ISSUES WERE FIXED. I PURCHASED MY 2007 PACIFICA IN 2009 WITH ABOUT 30,000 MILES FROM CHRYSLER, ELK GROVE, CALIFORNIA. UPON REACHING ABOUT 57,000 MILES, WHEN ACCELERATING, I WOULD HEAR LOUD METAL BANGING FROM THE ENGINE AREA. I WOULD ALSO FEEL A HARD JOLT WHEN ACCELERATING. AFTER VISITING CHRYSLER, ELK GROVE SERVICE CENTER, I WAS TOLD THAT 3 OF MY PACIFICA ENGINE MOTOR MOUNTS FAILED AND NEEDED IMMEDIATE REPLACEMENT AT ABOUT $1000.00 DOLLARS. I ASKED IF THIS PROBLEM WOULD OCCUR AGAIN AND WAS TOLD I SHOULD HAVE NO FURTHER PROBLEMS WITH THE ENGINE MOUNTS BY CHRYSLER, ELK GROVE. I PAID FOR REPLACEMENT. AT APPROXIMATELY 105,000 MILES, I BEGAN TO HERE LOUD METAL POUNDING AFTER ACCELERATING FROM THE ENGINE AREA. I COULD HEAR METAL KNOCKING WHEN I SLOWLY DROVE OVER BUMPS IN THE STREET. I COULD ALSO FEEL MY CAR GIVE A HARD JOLT WHEN ACCELERATING. AFTER VISITING THE CHRYSLER, ELK GROVE SERVICE CENTER, I WAS TOLD 3 OF THE ENGINE MOUNTS FAILED AND NEEDED IMMEDIATE REPLACEMENT FOR $1083.00 DOLLARS. I TOLD THE SERVICE PERSON THAT I HAD THE SAME SERVICE REPAIR AND WAS TOLD THERE WOULD BE NO ADDITIONAL PROBLEMS. CHRYSLER SERVICE REPLIED THE ENGINE MOUNTS ON THE CHRYSLER FAIL DUE TO WEAR AND TEAR. MY CONCERNS ARE I DONT FEEL SAFE KNOWING THAT MY ENGINE IS NOT PROPERLY SECURED TO THE FRAME OF MY VEHICLE. CHRYSLER SERVICE ALSO TOLD ME DRIVING WITH FAILED MOUNTS WILL LEAD TO OTHER PROBLEMS. THERE IS NO WARNING WHEN THESE ENGINE MOUNTS WILL FAIL. THE SERVICE MANUAL DOES NOT MENTION THESE PARTS SHOULD BE INSPECTED FOR WEAR AND TEAR AT CERTAIN INTERVALS OR MILES. FAILED MOTOR MOUNTS. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF A 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE MOTOR MOUNTS HAD FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. CHRYSLER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. AND THEY STATED THAT NO RECALLS HAD BEEN ISSUED. MILEAGE AT THE TIME OF DIAGNOSIS WAS 59,000. AS THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF THE BASIC WARRANTY, AND MOUNTS ARE NOT COVERED UNDER THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY, I WAS TOLD I HAVE NO COVERAGE FOR REPAIR OF THIS KNOWN DEFECT. MANUFACTURER SUGGESTED THAT I PAY FOR THE REPAIR AT THE DEALERSHIP, AT THE WILDLY INFLATED DEALER PRICING, AND THEN THEY WOULD SEE IF THERE WAS ANYTHING THEY COULD DO REGARDING A POSSIBLE PARTIAL REIMBURSEMENT AFTER THE FACT. I MAY HAVE BEEN DUMB ENOUGH TO BUY A CHRYSLER, BUT I'M NOT THAT DUMB. AN ESTIMATE FROM A PRIVATE GARAGE WAS 50% LESS. ON AUG. 29, 2011, AS I WAS ACCELERATING TO MERGE ONTO THE FREEWAY, THE ENGINE OF MY 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA MADE A LOUD POPPING SOUND, THE ENGINE FAILED AND WHITE SMOKE IMMEDIATELY CAME BILLOWING OUT OF THE ENGINE AND INTO THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER AND HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A LOCAL MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC WHO INSPECTED THE ENGINE SAID IT "THREW A ROD" AND THE ENGINE WAS CRACKED IN 3 PLACES, RENDERING IT IRREPARABLE. LATER I LEARNED THAT CHRYSLER NO LONGER MAKES A LONG-BLOCK ENGINE FOR THE PACIFICA, AND THEREFORE THE ONLY WAY TO REPAIR IT WOULD BE TO START WITH THE SHORT BLOCK AND ADD ON FROM THERE. THE REPAIRS WOULD BE AT LEAST $8,000. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAD 66,426 MILES ON IT AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. I HAVE ALWAYS ADHERED TO THE RECOMMENDED MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE OF THE VEHICLE. THE MECHANIC CONFIRMED THAT THE ENGINE HAD PLENTY OF OIL IN IT AND WAS NOT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. SIX MONTHS PRIOR TO THIS EVENT, I HAD THE RADIATOR AS WELL AS THE ENGINE MOUNTS REPLACED AS THEY WERE WORN AND BROKEN. THREE MONTHS PRIOR TO THE EVENT, THE ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT THAT CONTROLS THE BRAKING SYSTEM AND TRACTION CONTROL, WAS REPAIRED BY A CHRYSLER DEALER AS WELL. THESE REPAIRS COST ME A TOTAL OF $2400. CHRYSLER HAS REFUSED TO COMPENSATE ME FOR THE LOSS IN VALUE I HAVE HAD TO INCUR WITH THIS VEHICLE. THE KELLY BLUE BOOK VALUE WITH A WORKING ENGINE WAS APPROX. $12,000. IN APR/09 THE PACIFICA BEGAN SMOKING FROM THE EXHAUST AT START UP, RUNNING LOW ON OIL, & MAKING ENGINE NOISE & SPUTTERING DURING OPERATION. IN MAY/09 WE TOLD DARCARS THE PACIFICA WAS SMOKING FROM THE EXHAUST AT START UP, RUNNING LOW ON OIL, & MAKING ENGINE NOISE & SPUTTERING DURING OPERATION. DARCARS SAID THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE CONCERN, CHANGED THE OIL/FILTER, ROTATED TIRES, & DID A 16 POINT VEHICLE CHECK UP. IN JUN/09 WE TOLD DARCARS THE PACIFICA CONTINUED TO SMOKE FROM THE EXHAUST AT START UP, RUN LOW ON OIL, & MAKE ENGINE NOISE & SPUTTER DURING OPERATION. DARCARS SAID THEY WE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE CONCERN & MADE NO REPAIRS. IN SEPT/09 THE PACIFICA SUDDENLY BECAME INOPERABLE WHILE DRIVING 40MPH IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. WE TOWED THE PACIFICA TO DARCARS & TOLD THEM THE PACIFICA CONTINUED TO SMOKE FROM THE EXHAUST AT START UP, RUN LOW ON OIL, MAKE ENGINE NOISE & SPUTTER DURING OPERATION, & SUDDENLY BECAME INOPERABLE WHILE GOING 40MPH IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. IN OCT/09 DARCARS DOCUMENTED SLUDGE IN THE ENGINE, RECOMMENDED A TEAR DOWN FOR FURTHER DIAGNOSIS, & LATER INFORMED US THEIR RECOMMENDATION WAS DENIED BY OUR MAXIMUM CARE DIAMLERCHRYSLER SERVICE CONTRACT DUE TO LACK OF PROPER MAINTENANCE. WE TRY TO CONTACT OUR MAXIMUM CARE DIAMLERCHRYSLER SERVICE CONTRACT DECISION MAKER SEEKING CLARIFICATION ABOUT HOW THEY DENY PROTECTION DUE TO LACK OF PROPER MAINTENANCE WITHOUT SEEING THE PACIFICA OR SPEAKING TO THEIR CUSTOMER. THE CAR CONTINUES TO STALL AT LOW SPEEDS. WE HAVE TAKEN TO MECHANIC AND THEY DO NOT FIND ANY SERVICE ALERTS, AND WEREN'T ABLE TO DUPLICATE ON A TEST DRIVE. IT IS STARTING TO PICK UP IN FREQUENCY TO WHERE IT IS DOING IT EVERY OTHER DAY NOW. I ALSO CALLED THE SERVICE GROUP AT THE CHRSYLER DEALER I PURCHASED IT FROM, AND THEY SAID THEY CAN ONLY DO WHAT I HAD ALREADY DONE WITH THE OTHER MECHANIC SHOP. I WENT TO THE CHRYSLER FORUM TO POST AND SEE IF ANYONE ELSE HAD EXPERIENCED THIS, AND SEE NUMEROUS POSTINGS OF THIS ISSUE OVER THE YEARS. THREE YEARS AGO, ONE OF THE TWO MOTOR MOUNTS WERE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR A SECOND DIAGNOSTIC TEST WHERE THEY STATED THAT THE MOTOR MOUNT WAS DEFECTIVE, ALTHOUGH IT WAS NOT THE ONE PREVIOUSLY REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND THE CONTACT WAS WAITING FOR A RESPONSE FROM THE CASE MANAGER REGARDING THE REPAIR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25-30 MPH, THE VEHICLE WOULD SUDDENLY STALL AND THERE WOULD BE A LOSS OF STEERING AND BRAKES. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE CHECK ENGINE AND OIL WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENTAL PANEL PRIOR TO AND AFTER THE STALL. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THEY STATED THAT THEY FOUND A BURNT WIRE IN THE ENGINE WHICH MAY HAVE CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE FROM THE DEALER IN OCTOBER 2008, I NOTICED THAT THE CAR SEEMED TO LURCH WHEN I STEPPED ON THE GAS FROM A FULL STOP. I BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE DEALER ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, BUT THEY DID NOT THINK THERE WAS A PROBLEM. IN 2009, THEY WENT OUT OF BUSINESS AND I TOOK THE CAR TO BE INSPECTED BY ANOTHER DEALERSHIP. THEY FOUND THAT TWO ENGINE MOUNTS WERE BROKEN. LUCKILY IT WAS COVERED BY THE WARRANTY. AT MY LAST INSPECTION, IT WAS FOUND THAT MY OTHER TWO MOUNTS HAVE BROKEN. THIS I HAD TO PAY OUT OF MY OWN POCKET, AS THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. I AM WONDERING IF I AM GOING TO HAVE TO KEEP REPLACING THESE EVERY YEAR? ALSO, IS THIS A FIRE HAZARD? I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA IN APRIL 2007. I'VE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE ENGINE MOUNTS THREE TIMES ALREADY (JANUARY 2008, AUGUST 2009 AND SEPTEMBER 2010). MOST RECENTLY, I AM EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND OIL PRESSURE BUT THE DEALER DOES NOT SEEM TO THING THERE IS A PROBLEM. I'M TIRED OF THE RUN AROUND THAT I'M GETTING. LAST MONTH, (AROUND THE FIRST WEEK IN AUGUST 2010) I BROUGHT THE CAR TO DEALER BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT START. I ASKED THEM TO CHECK THE TRANSMISSION BECAUSE IT WAS ACTING ODD, CHECK THE BRAKES, CHECK THE ENGINE MOUNTS SINCE I KNEW THESE WERE PROBLEMATIC IN THE PAST. ALSO, ASKED THEM PERFORM AN OIL CHANGE. I WAS TOLD THE CAR NEEDED A NEW BATTERY, SOME BRAKE WORK AND THE TENSIONER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AN OIL CHANGE WAS DONE. I WAS TOLD THE ENGINE MOUNTS WERE INSPECTED AND THEY WERE FINE AND THERE WAS NO PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION. WELL, LITTLE OVER A MONTH LATER AROUND SEPT. 22 2010, THE TRANSMISSION FELT LIKE IT WAS DRAGGING, ENGINE WAS EXTREMELY HOT, RPM'S SEEMED TO BE OUT OF WACK AND THE OIL FUEL WAS REALLY LOW. THE CAR WAS INSPECTED AND I WAS TOLD THE RUBBER AROUND THE ENGINE MOUNTS HAD TO BE REPLACED AND WAS MAKING THE ENGINE PULL AWAY FROM THE TRANSMISSION WHICH WAS CAUSING THE PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD IT WAS NORMAL TO BURN / LOOSE THAT AMOUNT OF OIL. I WAS CHARGED ANOTHER DEDUCTIBLE AND I TOOK THE CAR HOME. WELL TODAY, SEPT. 28TH, I GET IN THE CAR AND THE LOW OIL LIGHT GOES ON AND THE TRANSMISSION STILL SEEMS / FEELS WEIRD. WHAT IS GOING ON WITH CHRYSLER? NOW I HAVE TO BRING THE CAR BACK IN AND MOST LIKELY THEY WILL TRY TO CHARGE ME ANOTHER DEDUCTIBLE TO FIX THE OIL PROBLEM, TRANSMISSION AND/OR ANOTHER ENGINE MOUNT. APPARENTLY, CHRYSLER KNOWS THESE ARE PROBLEMS BUT DOES NOT DO ANYTHING TO HELP THE CONSUMER. THEY SHOULD RECALL THE CAR FOR THE ENGINE MOUNT PROBLEM. 2007 PACIFICA LTD $38,000.00 MAY 2009: JOB#1 WHITE SMOKE COMING FROM ENGINE AT 45K MILES. DEALERSHIP REPLACED VALVE SEALS ON BOTH BANKS. JOB#3 THEY ALSO HAD TO REPLACE SPARK PLUGS AND DECARB ENGINE DUE TO THE SMOKE. I HAD TO AGREE TO PAY FOR HALF OF THIS (NOT WARRANTY ITEM - ALTHOUGH THE WARRANTY WORK FROM THE SMOKE FROM BROKEN GASKETS IS WHAT CAUSED THIS DAMAGE) JOB#2 IS LISTED ON MY REPAIR TICKET BUT WAS NEVER DISCUSSED WITH ME. DURING 27 POINT INSPECTION THEY FOUND THE ENGINE MOUNT WAS BROKEN. NEVER DISCUSSED WITH ME - NEVER FIXED. I'VE BEEN DRIVING AROUND LIKE THIS FOR WHO KNOWS HOW LONG. THE SECOND INCIDENT OCCURRED WHEN I CONTINUED TO NOTICE THE DRIVER SIDE FLOOR WAS WET AFTER RAIN OR A CAR WASH. FRONT WINDSHIELD GASKET NEEDED TO BE REPLACED (UNDER WARRANTY REPAIRED). THE THIRD INCIDENT THE CAR WAS SHIFTING HARD BROUGHT IT IN WAS TOLD IT'S NORMAL NO PROBLEM FOUND. FOURTH INCIDENT THE CAR CONTINUED TO SHIFT HARD, BROUGHT IT IN AGAIN AND WAS TOLD THE MOTOR MOUNTS WERE BROKEN (UNDER WARRANTY REPLACED). FIFTH INCIDENT NOTICED THE REAR BUMPER FADING COMPARED TO THE OTHER BUMPERS. TOLD IT DID NOT HAVE THE PROPER SEALER ON IT (UNDER WARRANTY REPAIRED). SIXTH INCIDENT, NOTICED LEFT REAR MOLDING PANEL LOOSE. FOUND CLIP TO FASTEN THE MOLDING WAS BROKEN AND DEFECTIVE, (UNDER WARRANTY REPLACED). SEVENTH INCIDENT, NOTICED THE RIGHT REAR MOLDING PANEL LOOSE. FOUND CLIP TO FASTEN THE MOLDING WAS BROKEN AND DEFECTIVE, (UNDER WARRANTY REPLACED). ALL THIS WITH LESS THAN 30,000 MILES. ON THE FIRST OCCASION, THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE; HOWEVER, THEY UPDATED THE SOFTWARE. ON THE SECOND OCCASION, THE DEALER DUPLICATED THE FAILURE AND REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY. ON THE THIRD OCCASION, THE EMISSIONS INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND AN ERRONEOUS EVAPORATION CODE APPEARED. THE COMPUTER WAS RESET AT THAT TIME. ON THE FOURTH VISIT TO THE DEALER, THREE LOOSE ELECTRICAL GROUNDS WERE FOUND AND TIGHTENED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE FIRST TIME THE FAILURE OCCURRED THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THEY CHANGED THE PCM MODULE. ON JANUARY 5, 2009, THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THEY CHANGED THE SKREEM MODULE. THE REPAIR WORKED FOR A DAY. THE FAILURE OCCURRED AGAIN ON JANUARY 7, 2009 AND HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,930.

RIVING VEHICLE OUT OF TOWN THE MOTOR MOUNT SNAPPED AND THE ENGINE VIBRATION CAUSED THE RADIATOR HOSE TO BREAK AND IMMEDIATE TOTAL LOSS OF ENGINE COOLANT. THE A/C CONDENSER ON THE 2007 CHRYSLER PACIFICA IS UNPROTECTED UNLIKE IN ANY VEHICLE I HAVE EVER SEEN. THE OPEN GRILLE IS 12 INCHES HIGH BY 30 INCHES WIDE AND ALLOWS ROCKS AND OTHER ROAD HAZARDS UP TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER TO PASS THROUGH THE GRILL TO THE CONDENSER. THIS IS A MAJOR DESIGN FLAW FOR WHICH CHRYSLER WILL NOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY BUT SEEMS ALL TOO GLAD TO ACCEPT CASH INTO THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT TO FIX THOSE OF US WHO HAVE ALREADY EXPERIENCED DAMAGE. IT IS MY BELIEF CHRYSLER SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS DESIGN FLAW, REPAY CONSUMERS WHO HAVE ALREADY BEEN FORCED TO PAY THE $600 REPAIR BILL FOR ROAD HAZARDS WHICH DAMAGE THE CONDENSER AND OR RADIATOR, AND ALSO BE FORCED TO PROVIDE INSTALLATION OF METAL MESH ON THE INSIDE OF THE GRILL TO PROTECT OTHER CONSUMERS FROM SUCH AN OUTRAGEOUS REPAIR BILL FOR A NEW VEHICLE. *TR
