The steering on my 2017 Chrysler Pacific sticks at the 11 and 1 position. It causes me to over steer while driving down the road or on the interstate and then it feels like the vehicle is swerving and I have to hold the steering wheel tight. Usually before this the service electronic stability control will come on and lately the service airbag light has been coming on all at the same time. All the notifications will go off when I turn the vehicle off and come on randomly while driving. It is very scary and dangerous causing tense driving on the steering wheel because you never know when it will happen.

We bought this vehicle from a local dealer in March (9months ago) in the time we’ve had it… it’s been in the shop for about 6 of them. 1- About 3 weeks after the purchase it shut off while I was driving on the highway. We then took it to the dealership in Jasper, Ga bc the error code said the pcm needed to be reset. They couldn’t get it to reset so they embarked on a diagnostic that took 3 months to discover the fuel pump was “too small”. The dealership repair guy assured us this was a solve to the issue, they’re tech put 200 miles on it an had no issues. 2- The day we got it back the check engine light came on and while going around a curve to the right, the wheel locked up on me and almost drove me into a mailbox. We turned around and went right back to the dealership. They had it for another couple weeks and told us we needed a new rack and pinion. We couldn’t afford the $6000 they wanted to fix that. So we then called the guy we bought it from and he had a local repair shop take a look and they replaced some parts on the rack and said it was good to go. 3- got it back and the check engine came on again, they code said pcm needed to be reset. We couldn’t get the dealership to call us back so we went to the local shop o’reileys recommended and they deducted some gauges needed to be replaced. 4- within a couple weeks the van was sputtering and cutting off again, we took it back to the local shop and the only thing they could think to do was change the auxiliary battery. 5- we’ve had it for about 2 weeks… 2 days again I went to start it up and it cut off. I had to wait a few minutes to try again and it started. Then yesterday while driving we stopped a red light and something popped and the dash lit up with errors and a grinding noise started. We went to accelerate to turn and started rolling backwards while in drive. We slammed on the brakes, turned the cautions on and put it in park and still rolled backwards. We had to get a tow back to the local shop.

Our Pacifica loses power randomly and doesn't always start when we push the start/stop button. The passenger side window rolls down and power controls all go haywire causing a loss of power. The dash flashes a quick message to service the BCM and the check engine light comes on. It's intermittent and sometimes happens in the middle of the road while driving. It's gotten worse now that it's cold outside, but I don't know if that's related. I checked our VIN against recall 19V-348 but it isn't listed.

Exhaust (and therefore carbon monoxide) is pumping into my vehicle whenever the cabin air intake is set to pull in out side air (the windshield defogger only works by pulling in outside air). This poses a serious safety concern, as it leaves us with two options: A lose the ability to see out of the windshield by choosing not to run the windshield fan) or B give myself and my children carbon monoxide poisoning. This is a known issue that Chrysler refuses to address because there is no pressure on them to do so, despite the imminent threat to human health and safety.

The internal bearings on the passenger-side sliding door failed. The failure caused the sliding door to come off its tracks, shatter the rear window, and damage surrounding body paint. The vehicle was parked on level ground when the incident occurred. There was no collision or external damage prior to the event. The owner’s manual contains no scheduled maintenance procedure related to the sliding door bearings, hinges, or tracks. This failure appears to be a design or material defect, as multiple other Chrysler Pacifica owners have reported similar sliding door malfunctions. Estimated repair cost is over $3,000. Chrysler customer service was notified. This failure poses a serious safety risk — the door can detach, potentially injuring passengers or bystanders. Please investigate this issue for potential recall or safety campaign.

Backup camera - blue screen or black screen. This has been reported several times and was recalled for the 2021-2023 Pacifica. This is dangerous. The transmission jerks really hard between 2-3 great which has also been reported as a normal occurrence that Chrysler has not addresses.

While driving, the vehicle suddenly shut down completely. All systems lost power: No lights Steering wheel locked/stuck Hazard lights were non-functional After approximately 2 minutes, the vehicle was able to restart, but an error message appeared: "ECU needs service" I then drove for about 2 minutes and parked. After stopping the engine and waiting for about 5 minutes, I restarted the vehicle. On restart, there were no error messages and the vehicle operated normally.

I am reporting a serious and ongoing safety defect with my 2017 Chrysler Pacifica (VIN: [XXX] , current mileage 51,875). The vehicle stalls and shuts off unexpectedly while driving, including in intersections, creating a life-threatening hazard. I have reported this issue multiple times to CarMax and Prestige Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Las Vegas, NV, but it remains unresolved. Key points: • First reported to CarMax on 2/6/2024 (Invoice #[XXX]). • Battery health test passed on 3/1/2024 (Invoice [XXX]). • Dealership later misdiagnosed the problem as a dead battery and charged me $837.95 for a replacement on 10/11/2024 (Invoice #[XXX]), which did not fix the stalling issue. • I returned within 7 days with the same safety complaint. • Multiple service attempts have failed to permanently resolve the issue. After driving, I can to a stop to park the van. The van would not shift to park and instead would go to neutral. I then could not turn the van off. It would only stay in accessory mode. Upon looking at this issue online, many Chrysler Pacifica owners have the same issue. Some people are able to fix the issue easily, while others needed to replace the transmission valve body. This is an incredibly expensive repair. There were no warning lights ahead of this problem happening, it happened out of the blue. No codes are shown when reading for codes in the van. The message that pops up when the van would not shift to park was “service trans press brake when stopped key off engine to engage park”. But the van will not turn off completely. To get the van to shut off, the battery needs to be disconnected. Safety is put at risk as I am not able to park the van or turn it off completely which would result in a dead battery.

Pacifica has been at Hillsborough Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram for recall repair since April 28, 2025. We have called an emailed Chrylser/Stellantis and the Dealership repeatedly and have only been told they are working on it. This is long past a "reasonable" time for this repair.

On Thursday May 30th was the first incident of the vehicle shutting down we were able to start it back up almost immediately within seconds on the 2nd occasion I was on a street with cars behind me going down to make a turn the stop start did not engage but we were still a ways away from the stoplight and suddenly the engine stopped no signs other than just stopping I could not start it back up I look down there was no indication of any issue other than a stalling so put it in part turned it off turn it back on no start try it again didn't work could not turn it over to neutral to get off the road police came while I had somebody disconnect battery and reconnect it to try to get it started again there was no less battery power on the engine it took 15 minutes or more to get it started once able to get started we brought it back home it was Sunday the 1st of June 2025 so there were no mechanics available still unknown as to what caused the malfunction no indicator lights other than during the issue with a lightning bolt and during the outage the check engine light was on no lights currently on. The Danger was to myself and two children in the vehicle and too many other vehicles behind me that could have crashed into me or cause incident being in the road working on the vehicle having to go around us waiting for green lights or a miss trying to get around us and avoid other traffic

Hard shifts when accelerating. Constantly having issues where if I press on gas the vehicle hesitates and RPM jumps and jerks my children and I very bad.The vehicle Constantly stalls out to were we can be killed one day! I would like this reported due to the scary situation i have been having on the road with accelerating the vehicle and the car starts smelling like it's going to catch fire one day! I keep smelling oil burning and no one acts like they know about the thousands of recalls about the transmission failure that is not covered for my vin. This is a waste of money to be investigating my vehicle issue. This vehicle was poorly made to kill someone. No check engine lights have ever been displayed since I bought this vehicle

In December 2018 a recall on the shifter was issued for Pacificas 2017 and 2018. The emergency brake would engage when ignition was turned on and van would not go forward or reverse. We purchased our 2017 Pacifica van on November 24, 2020. We started having this issue again last year in September 2024. The van’s emergency brake engaged when husband stopped at a red light and couldn’t start the van until after four light changes. Drivers behind us were not happy. He finally got the car to the Chrysler dealership. They had it for 6 weeks without much communication with us and what the problem was. They put a diagnostic device on it and it drove fine from December 2024 until yesterday, March 9, 2025, when the same brake issue came up again and we couldn’t get van started. We left it in the parking lot and our son came and gave us a ride home. Around 10pm last night our son and my husband went back to see if they could get it started to at least get it home. Many tries were unsuccessful until the last try when our son had the driver side door open and turned on the ignition. On the screen it said “Shifter needs service”. My husband had been unable to reach a service personnel to read the device on the van. In the meantime, I called another Chrysler dealer, told them what was going on with van, and asked about the recalls. The lady there was very nice and asked for the VIN on van. She looked it up and said the recall for shifter went out in December 2018, and the issue on our van was fixed in 2020. Is there a way to find the month and day as well as the year in the history? We purchased the van on November 24, in 2020. Is it possible the issue has returned? The recall said it had something to do with dashboard design and something was replaced with the dashboard that was a real safety issue. We were planning to leave tomorrow for an over 900 mile trip to see family and we are concerned about traveling safely. No one has yet to return our calls from the dealership.

[XXX] my check engine light came on and started blinking as I was driving. I then noticed that my car was sputtering. I stopped my car immediately and had it towed to a dealership at that exact point I had just over 64,136 miles on my 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. The following is the work that they performed on my vehicle. CONCERN VERIFIED. VEHICLE HAS AN ACTIVE MISFIRE, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS FLASHING. SCANNED VEHICLE FOR CODES AND FOUND MISFIRE ON CYLINDER 3. REMOVED COIL AND SWAPPED TO CYLINDER 1. SPARK PLUG REMOVED AND SWAPPED TO CYLINDER 5. RETESTED. MISFIRE MOVED TO CYLINDER 1. REPLACED IGNITION COIL AND ROAD TESTED VEHICLE. AFTER VEHICLE WAS WARM THE MISFIRE ON CYLINDER 3 RETURNED. SWAPPED FUEL INJECTOR TO CYLINDER 2. MISFIRE STAYED ON CYLINDER 3. REMOVED COIL AND SPARK PLUG FROM CYLINDER 3 AND BORESCOPED CYLINDER. FOUND COOLANT LEAKING INTO THE CYLINDER. RECOMMEND REPLACING CYLINDER HEAD GASKET AND CHECKING THE CYLINDER HEAD FOR WARPAGE. REMOVED CYLINDER HEAD AND FOUND CYLINDER HEAD TO BE WARPED AND NEEDING TO BE REPLACED ALONG WITH THE GASKETS. REPLACED LEFT AND RIGHT VALVE COVER GASKETS, CYLINDER HEAD, CYLINDER HEAD GASKETS, TIMING COVER GASKETS, EXHAUST MANIFOLD GASKET, SPARK PLUGS, UPPER AND LOWER INTAKE GASKETS. COMPLETED OIL CHANGE. Fast forward to [XXX] vehicle mileage 74,955 my wife was leaving to go to the farmers market. She called me to inform me that the check engine light came on blinking and the car started sputtering again. The exact same issue happened again. I told her to stop the car immediately and we had it towed to the same car dealership today [XXX] was the first call that I received from the dealership they informed me that cylinder six has failed the compression test and they recommend having the engine replaced. My car shut down on highway and the dealership said it was the terminals on the battery being dirty it happened agin so I had the battery changed then it did it again and the dealership changed one spark plug , one coil pack then it happened again changed all spark plugs and coil packs my car did it again and now I’m being told I’m probably going to need a new engine I notified Chrysler telling them this has happened several times and they said there was nothing they could do

We continue to get errors with the Start/stop technology. Three times since 2018 the indicator light came on while driving stating start/stop errors. On one occasion we lost power on a freeway and had to quickly pull off the highway when the vehicle went into limp mode. That repair was covered by warranty. In other cases we have replaced batteries but they soon die and produce the same warnings before a normal life span of a battery. We have repair recipients to document.

As I am driving down the street in the middle of traffic the van will cut off and all wheels will lock , I buy a new battery and wires and it continues to happen, not able to drive the expressway scared of causing an accident. The dash will start blinking and the electric will start flashing radio shuts down and the whole car is down for a few minutes like it need to reset.

Our 2017 Pacifica has been in for diagnostic review/repair several times. While traveling between speeds of 50-70 miles per hour after a period of anywhere between 35-90 minutes when making easy right corners the steering sticks in place between 11 & 1 positions. Has been noticed on shorter distances in hotter weather than and on longer trips farther into the drive. We recently had the electronic power steering computer replaced which did not fix the problem. Currently the dealership is advising that the rack and pinion need replacing but the warranty company will not pay as they are not able to replicate the error in the presence of the warranty company inspector. Since replacing the electronic power steering was unsuccessful in correcting the problem, the warranty company is requiring the dealership to provide proof of part failure before they pay. My son turned [XXX] on [XXX] and got his drivers license. At this time we do not have $4,000 to replace the rack and pinion and the warranty company won't cover it due to dealership errors. It is my understanding there are hundreds of reported cases of this same exact issue without any recalls. We refuse to allow our [XXX] son to drive a literal death trap with known and reported steering issues to the government and manufacturer but that may not be an option for everyone. May god or whomever forgive the souls of those who wait for the death of a child or other before taking action. I was pulling into a parking lot and had my foot on the gas. The gas pedal suddenly stopped allowing me to accelerate. The dashboard read "place car in park" I lost power of the vehicle. I was able to pull safely into a parking space and then I put the van in park and turned it off. I started it up and it started without issue. This was a very scary situation as I almost hit a shopping cart where I was forced to pull in as I had no power and was coasting in a parking lot full of cars.

This vehicle’s UConnect “infotainment” system began to malfunction after only 20,000 miles or so. At first it was only intermittent resets but they progressed over the last two years or so until now it is constantly auto-selecting every feature in the system while driving. I have experienced random selection of the heating/cooling system, auto parking brake, random nav selections, radio/audio changes, display units, language, seat heater, and more. Basically every selection available through the touchscreen it does randomly while driving. It is hugely distracting and even uncomfortable. I have had it in twice seeking a fix but the dealer seems unable to address it.

The "Start Stop" function has stopped functioning completely. I had both batteries replaced a year ago and this solved the issue, temporarily. Months later, I went to park and the vehicle shuttered as I put the van in park and shut off, then turned back on. Immediately, the "Start Stop" light came on. I've been driving just fine for 5 months with the light on, but this could become a hazard for myself and others. I have check my VIN for any recalls for the start stop function but nothing has come up. I've seen many other recalls for this issue on 2017-2019 Chrysler Pacifica's, but my VIN is not listed as there having a recall. I took the van to AutoZone and O'Reilly's to have the codes checked, nothing is coming up.

UNKNOWN while driving, the electrical system seemed to malfunction causing the lights to flash on/off, the rear windshield wiper to activate, the horn was blaring (quick repeated beeps, with occasional blaring), the dash indicated that the parking brake could not be used, indicated that the airbag system was not working, indicated that the driver’s side seatbelt was not connected, amongst other warnings that I cannot recall. The ABS brakes were not working, nor was the power steering. The car indicated that it needed to be put into park, and allowed for the turning of the dial; however, the dash indicated that the vehicle was moving too quickly to shift into park. We were able to make a turn onto a street with an uphill incline from the road we were driving on; and the brakes stopped the car - using a lot of force as the ABS braking system was still malfunctioning. The vehicle was put into park and the parking brake indicated that it was active; but of course could not be trusted as the indicators on the dash had been so haywire just moments before. While the vehicle was “off” the horn was still blaring (both short beeps and intermittently long blares), the rear wiper was still active (while in the off position), and the interior lights were flickering. This continued until the red connector was disconnected from the battery. The black connector seemed to make no change, connected or not. When the red connector was reconnected, the electrical issues seemed to be replicated with the horn and rear wiper. The vehicle was towed and we have no current answers. This was extremely dangerous as we lost all power and control of the car. We were driving, on what is oftentimes, a very busy street.

Noticed a wet spot on my driveway under my car that was not going away, the first mechanic that looked at it could not find the problem and initially thought it might have been condensation. A few weeks late the spot was becoming much larger and check engine light came on and the code indicated that there was an issue with the oil pressure. Upon taking it to be looked at by another mechanic it was found to be an issue with the oil filter housing resulting in a substantial oil leak. An oil leak can be dangerous both due to the slippery nature and the fire risk it presents, in addition it can cause further issues with the engine.

Our driver side sliding door can only be opened with the fob and overhead button located in the front of the vehicle. If the driver becomes unconscious or the vehicle is on fire the back passengers have no way to get out of the van. It cannot be manually opened from the outside or the inside. It is a very serious safety issue!!

The gear shifter, which is a knob to put the vehicle in gear, sometimes locks in the "P" Park position. When this occurs, the vehicle cannot be moved, and the occupants are potentially stranded. This first occured about the middle of August 2023. After some moments, the shifter came back on and we were able to drive the vehicle to the dealer, who replaced the gear shifter module at a cost of about $700. The problem reoccured within a few days of the repair. The dealer again replaced the module (at no cost to us). The issue has not been resolved. The gear shifter continues to intermittenly lock in the Park position. The dealer has simply given up on trying to fix the problem. They indicate they have performed substantial diagnostics and are unable to resolvce the problem. We cannot rely on this vehicle to not strand us somewhere. Thus, we believe it is a safety issue.

When driving, car completely shuts down. Usually happens when we are slowing down or stopping, but has also happened when accelerating. No lights come on and never happens when we take it to a mechanic. Happened 10x today alone but 5x over last seven days. The van stopped while driving without warning in traffic, luckily I was able to coast to the side of the road and there was not a vehicle directly behind me or my family and myself would have been in an accident. Even now it does not have a check engine light on we had the battery checked and alternator and they are both good. I’m not sure what else would cause the vehicle to stop while driving with out warning. It completely turns off just suddenly without any warning. This is dangerous and could cause an accident. We are having it towed to the dealership today to hopefully repair whatever caused the dangerous shut off. I will revisit and if able upload whatever I am told the problem is.

At least once a week, the rear camera stays on when I put the car from reverse into drive. I will be driving forward and can see the rear of the vehicle through the camera system on the radio for a minimum of 5 seconds. This happens randomly with no associated pattern. I just saw it was an issue for the 2018 model, and I am telling you it is an issue on the 2017 model too. MY vehicle fails to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rearview Mirrors."

I was stopped at a light and the car flashed all its lights and shifted me into park. After it started right back up but the check engine light came on and stayed on. It did this another two times as well and is very dangerous for me driving with my kids. prior to this issue I had to replace shutter and head gasket (Coolant leak). This car has so far cost 6K in repairs.

The electronics system experiences issues while driving. Particularly, the passenger front window rolls itself down at random intervals while driving. This can happen several times during a drive.These incidents at times are accompanied by a flickering of the dashboard display and a message that says to service the electronics system. The window is also often difficult to roll up as it engages the bounce back feature multiple times. The incidents have occurred at multiple driving speeds above 30mph. These incidents cause a major distraction while driving because of their unexpected and abrupt nature. The abrupt sound distraction from wind while the window is open also distracts the driver from focusing on driving. As a result, this malfunction is unsafe.

UNKNOWN, BEST ASSESSMENT: The car does not have a standard condensate drain line. It uses a pan that fills with water and then uses the blower fan to blow the water dry. It will only work as expected if the passenger turns off the air conditioner before they arrive at their destination. In hot climates such as Phoenix, Arizona, the air conditioner is on the entire time the vehicle is running. Due to this design, it causes mold to grow in the air conditioner. This presents a breathing health and safety risk that can lead to a driver having difficulty breathing, which could lead to the driver becoming unconscious, which can lead to a fatal crash. I am willing to have my vehicle inspected upon request. I have found that this hazard is putting others at risk through numerous online forums where people complain to the dealership about the mold and they spray it with an air freshener that doesn't solve the problem. This has not been inspected by others. There are no warning messages on the screen or dash.

The driver-side sliding door will continue to open when trying to close it. When we activate the auto-shut, it will close all the way, beep, and then open back up. Nothing obstructs the sensors or the door. Shutting the door multiple times will eventually shut on its own. We have found the vehicle with this door open overnight and at various other times. It opens on its own without pressing any button.

While driving our minivan it stalls or it seems like the gas isn’t getting to the engine. It has happened when I’ve been accelerating from a side road across a very busy road on more thank e occasion. We thought it was the gas we were using. Now we’ve been advised it is due to a “crank shaft sensor”. (?) We may not be eligible to get it fixed because we got our 2017 Pacifica in Oct 2016, drove it approx. 15,000 miles/ year so we may not be able to get it fixed for free.

I was driving about 2Omph and all of a sudden the van slowed down and I had a message on the car to shift to P to Park.it was weird because I was driving and it basically stopped on me and I had to shift the gear to P and press the start button to restart.

December 24, 2022. Started the vehicle to warm up (25 degrees outside), approximately 3 minutes later it caught fire. Vehicle has been in the dealers shop for multiple electrical issues, 9 recalls since it was bought new. All repairs have been at chrysler dealerships. Got it back from dealer on 2nd of December after they had it for 7 weeks repairing electrical short and latest recall.

Jerks when switching in low gears. This has now started after my car turns off while in idel mode. And my car is having trouble starting. I have no idea when islt might not want to start. I dont hear the engine wanting to trun over or any clicking. There is no noise comming from the car. Then when i try again it will start on the second time. This does not happen evey time I go to start it. I did have the battery tested and it was fine.

Occurred at 11:30pm on 05JAN2023 while being driven and at 5:30pm on 07JAN2023 upon starting the van. On 07JAN, the van had difficulty starting when the start button was pressed. After more attempts to start, it eventually did. Both times the dashboard had multiple warnings: Check Engine, Stability Control, Airbag Warning, and Electric Park Brake Trouble. Worded messages also displayed regarding transmission and gear positions trouble. While operating, the "D" above the digital speedometer would regularly change to "--" and back to "D," accompanied by an audible tone. The red "BRAKE" light would quickly blink once every 2-3 minutes. Van would accelerated very slowly from low speeds or stopped position, would jolt forward or back aggressively, and could not overcome a moderate grade incline from being stopped. The odometer jumped quickly between 1k-4k rpm, but the engine did not appear to actually do so. When stopped and switching from D to R, reverse functioned similar to being in Neutral. The blue shifter gear knob lights would also blink. When turned off and back on, R would engage faster than normal. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request Driven with 3 family members in the vehicle when the malfunction occurred. My spouse verbally stated that she did not feel safe. With extreme caution, operated the van back home and chose lower speed roads. Would be hazardous to operate in a parking area or near pedestrians. The Airbag malfunction was also very concerning, especially with regard to the jerking movement of the van when accelerating. The problem has reproduced, but not confirmed by a third party. The component has not been inspected by a third party. No other warning lights we illuminated. Codes found: U1110, U1120, U11BC, P0440, P456.

Twice while driving the van shut down and came to a stop. The van jerked and was in park. I was able to push start it back on. Both incidents have happened in the last 2 weeks with all 3 of my children in the car on a busy intersection. Last one happened on 12/26/22 while driving 25-30 miles and hour. This van only has 41,000 miles on it and has NO warning light indicators on. I am taking my van into a dealership tomorrow 12/28/22 in Vancouver, Wa. to get it looked at. I no longer feel safe in my vehicle. This is my main source of transportation and I take the highway everyday to work. I have no idea what could cause this, but I have seen this is a problem in the 2017 models.

I drive my daughter's van to transport my 3 years old autistic grandson to preschool and I have experienced several problems. 6 times the van died when I accelerated from a stopped position. Once I was turning onto a highway. The passenger-side sliding door opened while I was driving. The passenger front window has opened 2 different times. The lights on the dash go out while driving. The transmission will slam into another gear jerking you. The hatchback door on the back has closed on my daughter and her baby. She has 4 kids 5 and younger that she drives in this van. It scares me to drive it. She has taken it to 2 different places to get it looked at and they couldn't identify the problem. From what I have read this happens a lot with the van.

'Engine failure and needs replacement of head gasket. Never overheated. Also excessive "bucking" feels and sounds like you are being rear ended. Causes car to bang and lunge forward. Was repaired once before , dealer stated it was a software issue. Problem continues and gives you back pain and wiplash type sensation as it is a very abrupt and strong occurance. Now engine has failed and needs head gasket repaired for over $3000.

The problem began with an engine light and gave a P0303 code. We made an appointment with the dealer but the starter went out before it could be solved. After repair the service manager noticed a hint of white smoke from the tail pipe. After we received it, we took a short trip on the freeway and had the temperature shoot up and a horrible burning smell came in the cabin. We pulled over and got to a gas station. The coolant reservoir was empty so we filled it. On the way home the engine light came on and the next day we took it to a local shop. They confirmed it was the head gasket leaking coolant into cylinder 5. A code reader pointed to cylinder 3 with only a misfire but in reality you are losing coolant at a high rate. The mechanic will notify our warranty company with their findings. At city speeds the temperature stayed normal, as soon as we entered the freeway it reached the max temperature and smoked the cabin. There was no warning light to signal low coolant. Vehicle was purchased used from a local dealer.

Auto Start/Stop function failed, at a red light the car engine auto stopped but when brake was released after the light turned green the car stalled and had to be turned off and back on. It restarted on the first try and the lane sense function turned off when the car restarted but no check engine lights came on. This was unsafe For the car to have to be turned off completely and restarted after a light had turned green and there was traffic waiting behind me. Thankfully the cars behind me were stopped but if someone had been just pulling up behind me and expected me to move forward when the light turned green they may not have stopped fast enough to prevent an accident, which could have put the safety of my children in the back seats at significant risk. On a separate occasion this happened at a stop sign as well with the auto stop function causing the car to not turn back on when the brake was released and the car had to be turned off and back on again. Months prior to either incident the auto stop/start engine light had been on for some time but after a regular service and software update at the dealership the light went off. More recently there have been several issues indicating electrical problems, like the touchscreen turning off and restarting while driving. May 31st 2022 both the main and auxiliary batteries failed and were replaced at the dealership and then Sep 24th 2022 the battery failed again, but was jumped off and worked until Oct. 1st when the battery failed and would not hold a charge again.

I took my vehicle in to have the computer reset as the recall fix required after my start/stop unavailable warning came up for the second time. First time I had to replace both batteries. About 6 months ago if that. Took it in with the check engine light having popped on saying it's a misfire. Then when we left the stop start failure was still lit up on the dash and there were more codes popping up including one for the shift module which is electronic.. so I believe the electronic system is causing the misfire. I don't even have 100,000 miles and my car is about 5 years old. (2017) We were traveling on a busy highway when the check engine light came on to start with and exited to turn around and head home when the van felt like it was getting sluggish and we luckily were not in the passing lane and were able to make it home safely.

I have noticed for a while off and on that the transmission will jolt when driving. Feels like a hard shifting. It is getting worst to the point that I'm afraid to drive it as feel it may stall. Going up gradual incline have to press hard to get speed up. This can happen at any speed. In town normally driving 35-45 mph. My VIN shows there has been no recalls but this appears to be a known issue via complaints I have sent. Is there a recall? Would dealership know about this issue [XXX]? Is it safe to drive? We stopped at a rest stop on the NJ Turnpike (Mile Post, 92.9 NJ Tpke, Woodbridge, NJ 07095). After about 10 minutes we returned to the car and noticed a little bit of white smoke coming from the hood (approximate location 12-volt battery). Due to the color of the smoke thought was the radiator. I popped the hood from the car to inspect and at moment about to lift the hood, small flames came from between the hood and windshield. We then backed away from the car and called 911. Within minutes the car was consumed by large flames and the fire department had to extinguish the flame. NJ State Police said the cause would not be investigated due to arson not being suspected. Luckily no cars were parked close to us so no cars were damaged. There were no warning lights or messages in the car prior. The following issues have occurred about six times in the last two months. While driving down the road, the car will suddenly and without warning die, and all power is lost. The car automatically shifts to park, and because there is no power, I cannot restart the car. The fact that I cannot turn on my hazard lights is also a safety issue. When this happens, I am usually going a slow speed or idling. Once while going 35 mph, the car’s system blinked but stayed running. About a quarter of a mile down the road, I was pulling into a parking lot when it died. I barely had enough momentum to steer it out of the roadway. Other issues are windows rolling down and doors opening at random times. No service center has looked at my car or reproduced the defect. I have not spoken to the manufacturer at this point.

Vehicle was misfiring, took it to the mechanic said it was the 3rd cylinder. Had that replaced, but the vehicle continued to have problems. It lost power while driving but I was able to maneuver it off the road. Took it back to the mechanic where he stated the head gasket had busted. There was no sign or indication of the vehicle overheating or anything prior to all of this.

The driver’s side passenger door was opened but then failed to close. That is when the sliding door completely broke away from its track & shattered the back window. The door almost injured me & could have seriously injured my younger daughter who was in the vehicle when this failure occurred. Upon looking at the damage afterwards there is significant rust to the components. No warning indicators where on & it will be brought to Monday 7/11/22 to a Chrysler dealership.

The vehicle will randomly lose power when going from a stop or low speed and attempting to accelerate. For example, if I am stopped at a red light and start to accelerate once the light turns green, the vehicle will not gain speed. I have to let up off the gas pedal and then I will feel a "jolt" and then the vehicle will pick up speed. The safety of myself, my kids and others were put at risk because I cannot maintain a safe speed while driving. If I am stopped to make a turn, my vehicle has lost power or wouldn't gain speed as I was turning into or merging into oncoming traffic. Also, and the most dangerous, was when I had the vehicle in reverse to pull out of a parking spot at a store. When I attempted to turn the dial knob to "Drive", the vehicle turned itself off and the dashboard flashed with a message stating I need to put it in park and restart the engine. It was very scary to have the vehicle cut off on me like that. I have taken the vehicle to the local Chrysler dealership and an independent service center. The Chrysler dealership claim they were not able to reproduce the problem but stated they would have to break the engine down to the point of failure to diagnose the problem, a minimum charge of $750. The independent service center stated they could reproduce the problem and that it was the camshaft sensor which I had replaced for $400 but the problem continued not even an hour after I picked up the vehicle. They kept the vehicle an extra day but stated they were unsure of the problem and suggested it could be transmission related and that I take it to a certified transmission repair shop. The engine light came on when the problem first began but since having the vehicle serviced at the Chrysler dealership and the independent service center, the problem continues without the engine light appearing.

I have a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. There have been multiple instances recently where my car has stalled and lost power while on the road. There was a recall on it (U01) in 2018, for the powertrain control module because it was stalling and losing power. I completed the recall and did not experience issues again until the last month or so. I had taken my car in for service because it kept lurching forward when trying to accelerate from a stop. They did an update, and since then I have had multiple occasions when I lost power. I took it to the dealership after each instance and it has not been replicated, however they did see the error codes and tried to reset the vehicle. Last week they took the computer back to factory settings to try to fix it. This is a very dangerous situation since my car slows down and completely turns off in the middle of traffic. We are lucky we have not been hit by another car yet. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms prior to the power failure.

I have twin boys, I let them out of their car seats after returning from daycare. I took bags in my house and returned to find my door off the upper track and hanging from the lower attachment causing much stress to the bracket and and scratching my exterior paint. From the door opening and closing so many time off the track. This occurred after my son said he hit that button on the door a few times. This door could of easily fallen off or hurt one of my sons. Very scary! Also I found numerous other Pacifica forums that say the side windows have broken on there vehicles after this same type of event has happened. I am very concerned, this is my daily driver for all 3 of my sons who are all under 4yrs old. This heavy door could of caused serious damage to one of my sons. Please help me resolve this problem. Also now I have scratches on my paint from the door going back a forth which is visible from the outside.

My wife said that she was pulling into a parking spot and did not have her foot on the accelerator as she coasted into the spot. The car accelerated by itself she had to step hard on the brake to get it to stop before she hit another car. It was not a problem with a floor mat since they are snapped into place and do not come close to the pedals. I do see that similar problems have been reported on this type of vehicle with no satisfaction received. This incident is the 2nd time it has happened according to my wife. She does most of the driving around town.

TRAILER SAFELY UNLESS THE VAN CAN CONTROL THE TRAILER BRAKES, WHICH IT CAN NOT DO BECAUSE CHRYSLER FAILED TO SUPPLY WIRING UNDER THE DASH FOR A TRAILER BRAKE CONTROLLER TO BE CONNECTED IN THE 2017 MODELS. IT APPEARS EVERYONE WITH A 2017 PACIFCIA WITH FACTORY TOW PACKAGE ARE TOWING TRAILERS UNSAFELY BECAUSE THE VAN CAN NOT STOP SAFELY WITH A 2,000 LB. TRAILER IN TOW LET ALONE A 3,500 LB. TRAILER. I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE DEALER (ZIEGLER CHRYSLER IN DOWNERS GROVE, IL) AND THE BBB ID #14203031. WITH THE HELP OF THE BBB, CHRYSLER RESPONDED STATING IT WAS A SALES ISSUE AND TO TAKE IT UP WITH THE DEALER. AFTER GOING BACK & FORTH WITH DEALER AND CHRYSLER CORP., DEALER (SALES MGR. PHIL) NOW SAYS ITS A MANUFACTURE PROBLEM AND CHRYSLER SAYS IT CAN TOW 3,600 LBS. IT APPEARS CHRYSLER CORRECTED THE PROBLEM FOR THE 2018 AND NEWER MODELS BUT NOT THE 2017 MODELS. IT SEEMS CHRYSLER IS CLAIMING AND ADVERTISING IT CAN TOW 3,600 LBS. BUT THAT SEEMS TOTALLY FALSE FOR 2017 MODELS. HOWEVER, IF NHTSA FEELS ITS SAFE FOR THE 2017 PACIFICA WITH TOW PACKAGE TO TOW THE ADVERTISED WEIGHT WITHOUT OPERATING THE TRAILER BRAKES THEN I WON'T BE CONCERNED. ON CHRISTMAS EVE THE TRANSMISSION GAVE OUT COMPLETELY GOING THROUGH A LIGHT ON THE HIGHWAY AND LIGHTS CAME ON AND WERE FLASHING. TOWED IT TO THE SHOP WHERE THEY TOLD US IT NEEDED 'REFLASHED' BASICALLY RECALIBRATED AND THAT EVERY PACIFICA WOULD NEED THIS UPDATE IN ORDER TO CONTINUE DRIVING. THEY ALSO CHARGED US $150 TO DO THIS MANDATORY UPDATE. SOUNDS AS IF THAT SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A RECALL. I'M NOT HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE THE VEHICLE IS BACK TO THE SAME ISSUES AND I KNOW IT'S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE IT HAPPENS AGAIN. AUXILIARY BATTERY WAS REPLACED BUT LIGHT DID NOT GO OFF. TAKEN BACK INTO DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT IT TAKES TIME FOR IT TO CHARGE AND ALERT SHOULD GO OFF AFTER DRIVING. ALERT DID NOT GO OFF AND WAS TAKEN BACK TO DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY SAID THAT THE BATTERY SYSTEM IS NOT CHARGING. HAD TO RESCHEDULE ANOTHER DIAGNOSTIC APPOINTMENT FOR NEXT WEEK AS THEY DID NOT HAVE TIME TO FIX IT. NONE OF THIS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AS 2017 PACIFICA HAS 45,000 MILES. ALSO ALERTED THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT THE 'HARD STOP' JERKING THAT OCCURS AT SHIFT CHANGE AROUND 15-20 MPH INTERMITTENTLY. SINCE PURCHASING OUR PACIFICA, WE HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT ISSUES THAT SEEM TO NOT BE GETTING RESOLVED WITH CHRYSLER BESIDES CONTINUOUSLY IN THE SHOP. WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE BRAND NEW SO WE WOULD NOT HAVE THE HASSLE OF AN UNRELIABLE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAS LEFT US STRANDED WITH LESS THAN 30,000 MILES ON IT. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE, THE BACK HATCH CAME OPEN. AFTER PULLING OVER TO FIX THIS, AS I HAD KIDS IN THE CAR, THE VEHICLE KEPT OPENING. THE DEALERSHIP EXPLAINED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL AND FIXED THE ISSUE.CHRYSLER WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO WORK WITH THROUGH THE FIRST ISSUE. THE CASE MANAGER SAID THAT I WAS EXAGGERATED OVER THE ISSUES.WE THEN HAD THE AUTOMATIC START/STOP GO OUT, THIS CAUSED OUR DISPLAY SCREEN TO FREEZE UP AS WELL TO WHERE WE COULD NOT USE OUR CONTROLS. AT THIS TIME WE AGAIN BEGIN EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH THE BACK HATCH AGAIN. UPON CONTACTING CHRYSLER A NEW CASE NUMBER WAS GIVEN AND WE WERE ONCE AGAIN SENT TO THE DEALERSHIP. SHORTLY AFTER BEING IN THE SHOP, I DROPPED MY CHILD OFF AT SOCCER PRACTICE. WHEN I RETURNED TO MY VEHICLE THE WHOLE SYSTEM SHUT DOWN AND DOORS OPENED AND WOULD NOT CLOSE ALL ELECTRICAL WAS SHUT DOWN. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED AND WAS IN SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOR A WEEK. WE WERE LEFT WITH ONE VEHICLE TRYING TO HAUL OUR 5 CHILDREN AROUND WITH WORK AS WELL. RECENTLY THE 9-1-1 IS STUCK ON AND FREEZES THE DISPLAY SCREEN, ALONG WITH THE DRIVER PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR OPENING WITHOUT COMMAND OF THE BUTTON. THE VEHICLE IS SCHEDULED TO BE SERVICED....AGAIN. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE TO THE POINT WE DO NOT FEEL SAFE HAULING OUR FAMILY BUT FINANCIALLY ARE UNABLE TO TRADE IN, LEAVING US STUCK WITH A HEFTY CAR PAYMENT AND UNRELIABLE VEHICLE. WE WOULD NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE TRADING THIS CAR IN FOR ANOTHER FAMILY AS WELL.

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

I JUST PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE ON 05/18/2019. TWICE IT HAS STALLED OUT. ONE TIME I WAS AT A STOP LIGHT, THE "START/STOP" SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON AND IT COMPLETELY DIED. WE PULLED OVER AND TURNED IT OFF FOR A WHILE. ONCE WE STARTED IT OPERATED OKAY AGAIN. I HAVE BEEN DOING SOME RESEARCH AND IT SOUNDS LIKE THIS IS HAPPENING TO MANY OF THESE VEHICLE. MY BIGGEST CONCERN IS THAT IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THIS VEHICLE HAS EVERYTHING I WAS LOOKING FOR BUT I AM NOW TERRIFIED TO DRIVE IT WITH MY FAMILY. AFTER THE VEHICLE STOPPED COMPLETELY, THE VEHICLE LOCKED IN PLACE. I PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK, INSTRUCTIONS CAME UP ON THE DASH THAT SAID TO PRESS BRAKE AND START VEHICLE. I WAS TOLD, AT THE SHOP, THAT SINCE THE TECH WAS NOT ABLE TO EXPERIENCE IT, HIMSELF, THEY WOULD NOT EVEN TRY TO DIAGNOSE OR FIGURE OUT THE CAUSE, AT THIS POINT IN TIME. I ASKED THEM IF THEY COULD CHECK THE TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY. THEY SAID THEY EASILY COULD BUT DID NOT, AT THIS TIME, BECAUSE THEY'VE NOT FELT THE HARD-SHIFT THEMSELVES. I GAVE THE SHOP THE NAME OF ANOTHER CUSTOMER WHO HAS EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM, WITH HER VAN, IN TROY, MICHIGAN, WAS GIVEN THE SAME 'UPDATES,' FOR HER VAN, AT SUBURBAN CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM OF TROY THAT WERE SUPPOSE TO FIX THE PROBLEM (BUT DID NOT) AND GAVE THEM THE SOLUTION (TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY REPLACEMENT) SHE STATED HAD FIXED, FOR NOW (HER VAN WAS FIXED IN JULY'18 AND HASN'T EXPERIENCED A HARD-SHIFT SINCE) HER ISSUE. I GAVE THEM THE NAME AND NUMBER OF THE DEALERSHIP THAT HAD SERVICED HER CAR. THEY DID NOT WANT THE INFORMATION AND TOLD ME THEY WORK THROUGH CHRYSLER ONLY. CHRYSLER KNOWS THE PROBLEM EXISTS, AS THE LADY WHO TOLD ME ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY GOT THAT SOLUTION FROM A FRIEND, OF HERS, WHO WORKS AT CHRYSLER CORPORATE.

IT THEN HAPPENED ONCE, TODAY, AS I WAS DRIVING UNDER 20 MILES AN HOUR AND TRIED TO ACCELERATE, WHILE PULLING OUT OF A SCHOOL'S DRIVE. TODAY, IT ALSO STARTED TO HAVE A VIBRATION-TYPE FEEL, WHILE DRIVING, UNDER 20 MILES AN HOUR, ON A STRAIGHT WAY, WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE, AND THEN IT DIDN'T WANT TO ACCELERATE, AT ALL, AFTER I CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP, AT A RED LIGHT, AND TRIED TO ACCELERATE, AS THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN. WHEN I GOT TO THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION THE CAR WENT TO SHIFT AND IT FELT LIKE I GOT HIT IN THE REAR AND THE CAR BECAME UNRESPONSIVE FOR A FEW SECONDS AND SLOWED DOWN. I LOST ALL CONTROL OF THE CAR. I TRIED TO PRESS ON THE GAS AND NOTHING HAPPENED. THEN AGAIN, IT FELT LIKE I HAD GOTTEN HIT IN THE REAR AND THE CAR STARTED TO MOVE. I DROVE RIGHT TO THE DEALER. AGAIN I WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THEY KEPT MY CAR FOR A MONTH. THEY SAY THEY REPLACED THE VALVE BODY AT THAT POINT AND MY CAR WAS SAFE TO DRIVE AND COMPLETELY FIXED. ONE WEEK LATER, I WAS PARKED AT A STORE. I WENT TO START MY CAR AND IT WOULD NOT START. THE STEERING WHEEL WAS LOCKED AND THE BRAKES WERE LOCKED, THE CAR WOULD NOT START. I HAD BATTERY POWER, BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT START, I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER. THEY SAID A GROUND WIRE CAME LOOSE, AND MY CAR WAS FIXED AND SAFE TO DRIVE. THAT NIGHT MY FAMILY WAS GOING ON A LONG DRIVE. TEN MINUTES INTO THE TRIP, WHILE DRIVING ON A MAIN ROAD, WE LOST ALL CONTROL OF THE CAR WITHOUT ANY WARNING. THE CAR JUST STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING. THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED, THE BRAKES LOCKED AND THE CAR WOULD NOT START. I HAD MY KIDS IN THE CAR FOR THIS. THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE. THE CAR JUST SHUTS DOWN WHILE DRIVING WITH NO WARNING. THIS CAR IS A HAZARD AND UNSAFE TO DRIVE.

IN A SHOPPING CENTER PARKING LOT, ROLLING FORWARD AT 10 MILES PER HOUR. MY FOOT WAS NOT ON THE BRAKE OR THE ACCELERATOR. SUDDENLY, THE CAR ACCELERATED OVER 1 SECOND UP TO ABOUT 20 MILES PER HOUR. THE ACCELERATION WAS SO RAPID AND SUDDEN THAT I THOUGHT THAT I HAD BEEN REAR-ENDED. THE VEHICLE SLOWED WHEN I APPLIED THE BREAK. THE CAR THEN DID IT SEVERAL MORE TIMES OVER A FEW DAYS PERIOD. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, AND THEY SAY THAT THE CAR'S COMPUTER HAS GENERATED MULTIPLE ERRORS, BUT THEY ARE UNABLE TO INTERPRET THE ERRORS. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN AT THE DEALER FOR A WEEK, WITH NO SUCCESS IN DIAGNOSING THE PROBLEM OR THE FIX.

ON MAY 9, 2018 I SHIFTED FROM PARK TO DRIVE, WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, WHILE MY 10 YEAR OLD SON WAS GETTING INTO THE VAN. THE DOOR AUTOMATICALLY CLOSED, HE PANICKED AS HE SAW IT CLOSING AND TRIED TO JUMP OUT- THE DOOR CLOSED ON HIM AND HE WAS STUCK FOR 30 SECONDS TO 1 MINUTE. THE DOOR WAS NOT RESPONSIVE TO OPENING BY PUSHING THE BUTTON AND FINALLY RE-OPENED WHEN I PUT IT BACK IN PARK. IT LEFT A BRUISE ON HIS ARM FOR APPROXIMATELY 10 DAYS, HE WAS NOT INJURED. CHRYSLER INVESTIGATED THE INCIDENT BUT COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. IN ADDITION, THE VAN WILL HARD KNOCK/SHIFT, USUALLY AT LOW SPEEDS AND HAS STALLED OUT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE IN TRAFFIC MULTIPLE TIMES. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN. THIS STARTED HAPPENING AFTER IT WAS TAKEN IN TO GET THE SAFETY RECALL TRANSMISSION UPDATE. CHRYSLER CANNOT REPLICATE THIS PROBLEM AND HAS NO STORED DATA IN THE COMPUTER SHOWING PROBLEMS HAVE OCCURRED. I AM DEEPLY CONCERNED WITH THESE ISSUES AND THE SAFETY OF MY VEHICLE. WHILE I AM SATISFIED WITH THE LEVEL OF CONCERN AND RESPONSE CHRYSLER PROVIDED DUE TO THE DOOR INCIDENT, I THINK THERE ARE MANY IMPROVEMENTS THAT NEED TO BE MADE TO MAKE THIS VEHICLE SAFER. I HAVE OWNED MULTIPLE VANS AND CAN SAY THAT THE MECHANICAL DOORS ON THIS VAN ARE VERY SLOW TO REACT TO OBJECTS IN THE WAY OF CLOSING AND WILL CLOSE VERY HARD BEFORE RE-OPENING. THE SHIFTING ISSUE IS VERY, VERY CONCERNING AND CHRYSLER'S LACK OF CONCERN REGARDING THE ISSUE IS EVEN MORE CONCERNING.

DRIVERS SIDE SLIDING DOOR KEEPS OPENING/CLOSING ON ITS OWN - ACTS AS IF SOMETHING IS CAUGHT IN THE CHAIN THAT OPERATES THE DOOR. STARTED SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASE IN MAY OF 2017, HAS HAPPENED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS AND IS NOW OCCURRING MORE FREQUENTLY. ORIGINAL DEALER INSPECTED THE DOOR BUT COULD NOT FIND PROBLEM - THEY SUGGESTED THAT SOMEONE MAY HAVE TURNED THE SLIDE MECHANISM OFF ON THE OVERHEAD CONTROL. IT IS HAPPENING BOTH WHEN DRIVING & WHEN PARKED. WHILE DRIVING AN ALERT APPEARED ON THE DASH WITH MESSAGE "TO OPERATE SLIDING DOOR SHIFT TO PARK" - DISPLAY SAYS CONTACT ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE/UCONNECT/CHRYSLER VEHICLE CARE. MESSAGE APPEARED ONCE ON THE INTERSTATE, ALTHOUGH DOOR DID NOT OPEN. IT APPEARED ANOTHER TIME WHILE DRIVING DOWN A STEEP DRIVEWAY - THIS TIME DOOR DID SLIDE OPEN. DRIVER WAS THE ONLY ONE IN VAN AT THE TIME. WHEN STATIONARY, DOOR WILL OPEN & CLOSE ITSELF REPEATEDLY - HAVE HAD TO PUSH DOOR ALL THE WAY OPEN OR CLOSED. THE DOOR DID NOT SENSE THAT THERE WAS AN OBSTRUCTION, HAD TO FORCEFULLY PUSH DOOR OPEN. TOOK VAN TO DIFFERENT DEALER - THEY TRIED TO RECREATE PROBLEM BUT COULD NOT. DEALER REVIEWED MESSAGE HISTORY BUT ON-BOARD COMPUTER DID NOT SHOW THE "TO OPERATE SLIDING DOOR SHIFT TO PARK" MESSAGE. DEALER SUGGESTED WE MAY HAVE BEEN PRESSING DOOR BUTTON ON KEY FOB ACCIDENTALLY - HOWEVER THIS HAS OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES WHEN IT WAS NOT LIKELY THAT THAT WAS THE CASE. HAVE CONTACTED CHRYSLER SEVERAL TIMES REGARDING THIS PROBLEM, BUT HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO RESOLVE. ALL THE GEAR SHIFT LIGHTS WERE FLASHING AND A BEEPING NOISE OCCURRED. ON THE DASH A DISPLAY SAID "CHANGE GEARS TO START". I TRIED NEUTRAL AND OTHER GEARS, BEFORE GOING BACK TO DRIVE AND IT DIDN'T DO ANYTHING. I PLACED THE CAR IN PARK AND IT GOT STUCK IN PARK. I COULDN'T CHANGE THE GEAR AFTER THAT. I THEN PRESSED THE ON/OFF START BUTTON AND IT RESTARTED AND POWERED UP THE ENGINE AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR HOME. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND LEFT A VOICEMAIL. THE FIRST APPOINTMENT AVAILABLE WAS JUNE 27TH, 2018 AT 0830. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP SAID THERE WAS NO LOG/WARNING OR NOTIFICATION RELATED TO THIS ISSUE. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER CORP CUSTOMER CARE AT 1101 ON JUNE 27TH, 2018 TO NOTIFY THEM OF THE ISSUE AND THAT THE DEALERSHIP COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. CHRYSLER CORP CUSTOMER CARE REPRESENTATIVE ADVISED ME TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH NHTSA AND TO ENSURE DEALERSHIP FILES A STAR CASE. I THEN RE-CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AT 1112 ON JUNE 27TH, 2018 AND ADVISED THEM WE WANTED TO OPEN A STAR CASE. THE CAR GOES BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP ON TUESDAY JULY 3RD, AND THEY WILL KEEP IT AND TRY AND RE-SIMULATE THE ISSUE WHILE WE HAVE A LONER CAR.

THE REMOTE START TIMED OUT AND THE VEHICLE TURNED OFF; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO RE-ENTER THE VEHICLE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CONTACTED. THE CONTACT BROKE THE REAR WINDOW OF THE VEHICLE TO REMOVE THE CHILD FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SHOULD NOT LOCK INDEPENDENTLY WITH THE KEY STILL IN THE IGNITION. THREE SEPARATE BUT RELATED INCIDENTS: (1) WHEN DRIVING DOWN A NEIGHBORHOOD STREET AT UNDER 30 MPH THE VAN SUDDENLY LOST THE ABILITY TO GO FORWARD. PUSHING THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR RESULTED IN NOTHING. SINCE THE VAN WAS GOING UPHILL, IT BEGAN TO DECELERATE AT A SLOW PACE. AFTER A FEW SECONDS, THE VAN REGAINED THE ABILITY TO MOVE FORWARD NORMALLY. (2) THE VAN WAS STOPPED WAITING TO TURN LEFT. UPON PRESSING THE GAS FORWARD AND MOVING OUT INTO TRAFFIC, THE VAN LOST IT'S ABILITY TO MOVE FORWARD ABOUT HALFWAY THROUGH THE TURN. IN ADDITION, A "THUD" COULD BE FELT THAT FELT LIKE THE VAN HAD BEEN HIT FROM BEHIND. HOWEVER, NOTHING HIT THE VAN. THE LOSS OF ACCELERATION EXPOSED TO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. IN 3 TO 5 SECONDS, THE VAN REGAINED NORMAL ABILITY. (3) WHEN DRIVING DOWN A BUSY STREET IN TRAFFIC AT AROUND 20MPH, THE VAN LOST THE ABILITY TO MOVE FORWARD AND A "THUD" WAS FELT AS IF THE VAN HAD BEEN HIT. AGAIN, IT HADN'T BEEN HIT. AFTER 3-5 SECONDS, THE VAN REGAINED THE ABILITY TO DRIVE FORWARD. OUR SUSPICION OF THE CAUSE HAS BEEN THE TRANSMISSION. THIS IS DUE TO THE "THUD" FEELING AND THE LOSS OF MOVING FORWARD. HOWEVER, ON TWO SEPARATE TRIPS TO THE DEALER, THE CAUSE HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED AS "ABS MODULE IN PLANT MODE". THE ABS MODULE HAS BEEN REPLACED BUT IT DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. IT DOES NOT FEEL LIKE THE VAN IS TRYING TO BRAKE ON ITS OWN AS THE DECELERATION IN SPEED IS EXTREMELY GRADUAL. RATHER, IT FEELS LIKE A LOSS OF ABILITY TO PROPEL/ACCELERATE FORWARD. THE VAN IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE TO DRIVE AS YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN YOU WILL LOSE THE ABILITY TO MOVE FORWARD (AND THUS OUT OF HARM'S WAY). THESE THREE INCIDENTS HAVE OCCURED IN LESS THAN 150 MILES OF DRIVING OVER THE PAST 3 WEEKS ENDING 5/30/2018.

IT HAS HAPPENED WHILE COASTING IN TRAFFIC, ACCELERATING FROM RED LIGHTS, STOP SIGNS, AND MERGING INTO TRAFFIC! I BELIEVE ITS 2-3 GEAR SHIFT. I FEEL THE RPMS DROP DOWN TO NOTHING AND SPIKE. IT FEELS LIKE BEING HIT FROM BEHIND AND GETTING WHIPLASH. ITS VERY POWERFUL AND FRIGHTENING. HAVING TWO KIDS IN CARSEATS WHEN HIS HAPPENS IS SCARY! THE DEALERSHIP HASN'T BEEN ABLE TO REPRODUCE TO PROBLEM (EVEN ON A DRIVE ALONG) AND THEY SAY THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT UNTIL A CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS COMES ON. WARRANTY IS UP IN 14,000 MILES - THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED BY THEN. LATEST OCCURRENCE WAS THIS MORNING ACCELERATING FROM A STOP.

THE LANE KEEP ASSISTANT (LANESENSE) SYSTEM WENT OFFLINE AND STATED IT NEEDED SERVICE. TOOK TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THE LOWER FRONT CAMERA NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. WHEN THE DEALER WAS ASKED IF THE PROBLEM IS COMMON, THEY COULD NOT ANSWER. THIS IS THE SAME PART ON EVERY FIAT CHRYSLER OF AMERICA VEHICLE WITH THIS FEATURE. THIS SYSTEM HAS THE ABILITY TO TAKE THE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE FROM THE DRIVER AND DIRECT THE VEHICLE IN THE APPROPRIATE DIRECTION. IF THIS ITEM IS FUNCTIONING INCORRECTLY, IT HAS THE POTENTIAL TO STEER THE VEHICLE INTO OTHER VEHICLES AND ON COMING TRAFFIC. THIS FEATURE FAILED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AT NEAR HIGHWAY SPEEDS (55 MPH) IN HEAVY TRAFFIC.

PURCHASED VEHICLE IN AUGUST 2017 AND HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS SINCE THEN. GRINDING NOISE STARTED TO OCCUR AROUND 1000 MILES. IT WOULD OCCUR INTERMITTENTLY AROUND SURFACE STREET DRIVING SPEEDS. SOUND APPEARED TO COME FROM DRIVER SIDE. HARDER GRINDING NOISE OCCURRED AROUND 7000 MILES INTERMITTENTLY, WITH IT OCCURRING BOTH IN CRUISE CONTROL AND OUT OF CRUISE CONTROL. LURCHING FORWARD WHEN SHIFTING GEARS ALSO OCCURRED AROUND THE 1000 MILE MARK. WAS TOLD THIS WAS "NORMAL". BUT HOW CAN IT BE NORMAL WHEN THE VEHICLE IS BRAND NEW. WAS TOLD THE SOFTER GRINDING NOISE AND LOUDER GRINDING NOISE WERE BOTH NORMAL AND RESULT OF POWER STEERING. HOWEVER, I WASN'T EVER STEERING WHEN THE SOUNDS OCCURRED. LASTLY, THE BIGGEST COMPLAINT IS THAT THE CAR STALLED TWICE AROUND 13,000 MILES. BOTH TIMES AT THE STOP-LIGHT (THANK GOD) AND ACCELERATING. FIRST TIME THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL COMPONENT SHUT OFF. PLACED THE CAR INTO PARK AND PUSHED THE "START" BUTTON AGAIN. THE SECOND TIME THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATED, INSTEAD LURCHED FORWARD AS IF WE WERE BEING REAR-ENDED, MADE A LOUD CLUNK NOISE AND JUST STOPPED. BOTH TIMES NO ACCIDENTS OCCURRED THANK GOD. REGARDLESS, THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY SHOULD NOT AT THIS MUCH RISK WHEN WE PURPOSELY BOUGHT A BRAND NEW VEHICLE WITH ALL SAFETY FEATURES.

MY NEW PACIFICA SEEMS TO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM. THREE TIMES WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEED WITH NO CAR IN FRONT OF ME THE CAR MADE A LOUD ALARM AND BIG RED LETTERS "BRAKE!" APPEARED ON MY DASH. THIS OCCURRED AT LOW SPEED ON SUBURBAN ROADS (20-40 MPH). IT WAS STARTLING. I COULD NOT FIGURE OUT WHY THIS WAS HAPPENING. THEN I STARTED GETTING A NOTICE ON MY DASH THAT WOULD SAY "ACC/FCW SENSOR IS DIRTY AND NEEDS TO BE WIPED OFF AND THAT THE "ACC/FCW SYSTEM WAS DISABLED". I THOUGHT AT FIRST THAT THIS WAS THE PROBLEM HOWEVER, THIS HAS CONTINUED INTERMITTENTLY EVEN WHEN THE SENSORS ARE WIPED OFF. FINALLY, WHILE TRAVELLING AT HIGH SPEED ON THE INTERSTATE, WE WERE NEARLY IN A COLLISION ONLY AVOIDED BY SWERVING INTO THE NEXT LANE. ALTHOUGH WE ALMOST HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF US, THE PACIFICA HAD NO REACTION: NO ALARM, NO "BRAKE!" LIGHT, NO BRAKING, NOTHING. I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALER WHO SAID THEY COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM AND THEREFORE COULD NOT DO ANYTHING FOR ME. I SHOWED THEM ON THEIR OWN FORUM THAT THIS WAS A KNOWN ISSUE, BUT TO NO AVAIL. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT NOT HAVING THE SAFETY FEATURES FOR WHICH I PAID. I AM DISGUSTED BY THE LACK OF CONCERN FROM DICK HANNAH CHRYSLER IN VANCOUVER WA.

YET NHTSA SHOWS NO OPEN RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE, AND MOPAR SHOWS THE RECALL WORK DONE ON A DAY THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE.

NOW I SEE THAT THIS VAN IS SHUTTING DOWN JUST LIKE THE TOWN & COUNTRY DID. MY PACIFICA HAD NOT SHUT DOWN ON ME THO DATE BUT THERE IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION THAT CHRYSLER OF NOT TELLING OWNERS ABOUT. I TOOK MY PACIFICA IN TO NICHOLS TO BE CHECKED AND JUST LIKE THE TOWN AND COUNTRY THEY COULD FIND MORNING WRONG. I DO NOT WANT THO DRIVE MY NEW VAN ANYMORE. ANOTHER TIME THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALER AS IT WOULD NOT START AT ALL AND THE DASH SAID SERVICE SHIFTER. I HAVE ASKED THE DEALER TO REPLACE THE CAR AND THEY SAID THEY WILL ASK CHRYSLER, AS I BOUGHT IT FOR MY WIFE AND SHE IS AFRAID TO DRIVE IT. IT IS THE TOURING L MODEL. AUTOMATIC PARKING BRAKE-SELECTING NEUTRAL FOR CAR WASH WITH ENGINE RUNNING, PARK ENGAGES BY ITSELF CAUSING CAR WASH ROLLERS TO JUMP THE WHEEL THAT IS DRIVEN. VERY HARD TO KEEP IN NEUTRAL LONG ENOUGH FOR CAR WASH TO FINISH CORRECTLY. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE PARTWAY THRU THE CAR WASH WITH NO INPUT FROM DRIVER. HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES AT INITIAL PLACING INTO NEUTRAL, SOMETIMES CAUSING CAR WASH TO LOCKUP, THE CAR WASH WILL NOT LET THE CAR GO THRU WITHOUT A DRIVER BECAUSE OF THIS INTERMITTENT GOING INTO PARK BY ITSELF. -DOESN'T ALWAYS TURN OFF PARKING BRAKE WHEN SELECTING R OR D, AS IT SHOULD. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES WHILE GOING THRU A CAR WASH, CAUSING CAR WASH TO EITHER EMERGENCY STOP OR GOING ON UNDER WHEELS . DEALER STATES THAT TURNING OFF AUTOMATIC PARKING BRAKE WILL FIX THE PROBLEM. DON'T WANT TO TURN ON AND OFF EVERY TIME I GO THRU A CAR WASH. DEALER ALSO STATED THAT YOU CAN'T TURN OFF THE FEATURE THAT TURNS PB OFF WHEN SELECTING DRIVE OR REVERSE. STATEMENTS FROM DEALER ARE COUNTER TO THE NORMAL OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE. THIS HAS HAPPENED MORE THAN A DOZEN TIMES SINCE I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE.

INFOTAINMENT SCREEN FREEZES AND/OR JUMPS AROUND AND WILL NOT LET THE USER CHANGE TEMPERATURE CONTROLS, ADJUST RADIO FUNCTIONS, ALLOW HANDS-FREE CALLS, OR ACCEPT ANY INPUTS AT ALL. THIS CREATES A DISTRACTING AND EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE WITH ABSOLUTELY NO WAY TO CONTROL THE SYSTEM. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN PRESENT SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE IN MARCH2017. EVEN AFTER NOTIFYING FCA ABOUT THE ISSUE THROUGH THE DEALER, UCONNECT WEB CUSTOMER SERVICE PORTAL, AND CHRYSLER CARES CONTACTS IT IS STILL UNRESOLVED. A SOFTWARE UPDATE RELEASES IN LATE SEPT 2017 FAILED TO CORRECT THE ISSUE.

MY WIFE AND I WERE RETURNING FROM A TRIP TO AN APPOINTMENT AROUND 2:30 IN THE AFTERNOON. WE JUST EXITED OFF INTERSTATE 395 AND WERE MERGING INTO TRAFFIC HEADING EAST ON DUKE STREET. THE LIGHT CHANGED TO YELLOW AND REQUIRED US TO STOP MORE AGGRESSIVELY THAN I TYPICALLY WOULD. WE WERE TRAVELING IN A STRAIGHT LINE AND HAD TO DECELERATE FROM 20 MPH TO COMPLETE STOP WITHIN A MATTER OF APPROXIMATELY 10 FEET. ONCE OUR VAN CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP THE CAR SHUT OFF. I DIDN'T NOTICE ANY MESSAGE ON THE SCREEN, BUT WHEN I RELEASED THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE STARTED AGAIN. AFTERWARDS, I THOUGHT BACK TO THE PREVIOUS STOP AND THOUGHT I NOTICED SOME HESITATION IN ACCELERATION, BUT DIDN'T REALIZE IT UNTIL AFTERWARDS. THE CAR WAS ONLY PURCHASED A MONTH AND A HALF AGO AND WAS PURCHASED NEW. UNFORTUNATELY I DO NOT HAVE ANY PHOTO EVIDENCE OF THE CIRCUMSTANCES AND THE VEHICLE DID NOT PRESENT A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THE DEALER WE PURCHASED FROM STATED THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WE WERE TALKING ABOUT, BUT OFFERED WE MAKE AN APPOINTMENT AND THEY WOULD CHECK THE VEHICLE.

WHILE EXITING A CAR WASH THE REAR SUNROOF WAS BLOWN OUT. THE VEHICLE WAS MOVING SLOWLY THROUGH THE CAR WASH AND WAS UNDER THE DRYER WHEN IT HAPPENED. THERE WAS A THUMP AND SMALL PIECES OF SAFETY GLASS WERE BLOWN OVER THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THE MANAGER SPECULATED THAT MAYBE A ROCK BLEW OUT OF THE DRYER. IT IS CURRENTLY AT A COLLISION CENTER WHERE THE MECHANIC HAS VACUUMED THE GLASS OUT OF THE BACK SEAT AND IS LOOKING FOR ANY FOREIGN OBJECTS. I DON'T THINK THERE WERE ANY ISSUES WITH THE GLASS PREVIOUSLY. I HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH IT. FORTUNATELY NO ONE WAS INJURED.

I HAVE NOTICED SEVERAL OTHERS COMPLAINING ABOUT THEY FRONT COLLISION WARNING NOT WORKING. I HAVE TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO GET MINE TO GO OFF AT THE DIFFERENT SETTING. I HAVE DRIVEN OTHER VEHICLES WITH THIS FEATURE AND SO FAR THE PACIFICA HAS NOT ACTED LIKE THOSE. MY WIFE SAID IT HAS WENT OFF TWICE ON HER AND SHE REALLY COULD TELL WHY. I HAVE ALSO SO HAD THE ISSUE WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR DOOR GRINDING FROM DAY ONE. TODAY WHEN WE GOT OUR FIRST OIL CHANGE THEY TOLD US THE BALLING BEARING WAS BUSTED AND WE HAVE TO TAKE IT BACK TO GET IT REPLACED TOMORROW. THE RAIN SENSING WIPER FEATURE DOES NOT WORK, AND IT IS TURNED ON IN THE UCONNECT SETTINGS. ALSO, AFTER ABOUT A MONTH OF OWNERSHIP I NOTICED THAT THE BEEP ON THE REAR GATE AS IT CLOSED CHANGED TO A HIGHER PITCHED MORE ANNOYING SOUND, BUT IT STILL WORKS.

THE POWER SLIDING SIDE DOORS MAKE A TERRIBLE GRINDING NOISE WHEN OPENING & CLOSING. WE'VE OWNED THE VEHICLE 4 DAYS. FIRST THE RIGHT SIDE DOOR STARTED IN THE MORNING, THE SAME DAY IN THE AFTERNOON THE LEFT SIDE DOOR STARTED. THE SERVICE DEALER CHECKED IT AND COMMENTED THAT THE BEARINGS MIGHT HAVE BROKEN IN THE UPPER TRACT. THEY MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO REPAIR. ALSO THE BLUETOOTH WILL NOT CONNECT. IT IS VERY GLITCHY. IT SOMETIMES SEES THE PHONE, BUT IT CAN NOT BE USED AT ALL AND THE PHONE STATES TO 'MAKE SURE NEARBY DEVICE IS ON, CONNECTION WAS LOST'. THE CAR BLUETOOTH SETTINGS WON'T FORGET THE DEVICE EASILY TO RETRY. TWO SEPARATE PHONE CALLS TO UCONNECT SERVICE ASSISTANCE AND IT STILL WOULD NOT WORK EVEN AFTER TWO DIFFERENT 'SOFT RESETS' AS DIRECTED BY SERVICE. 4 DIFFERENT SMARTPHONES WE'RE TRIED AND EVEN AN IPOD TOUCH. ALL OF WHICH HAD NO PROBLEM CONNECTING TO OTHER BLUETOOTH DEVICES. BOTH ISSUES ARE SCHEDULED TO BE REPAIRED...FRUSTRATING ISSUES FOR A BRAND NEW VEHICLE.

MY CONCERN IS WITH CHRYSLER'S FCW SYSTEM. THE SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK AS DESCRIBED IN THEIR OWNER'S MANUAL BOTH IN CITY AND HIGHWAY DRIVING. SPECIFICALLY IT DOES NOT DETECT, NO MATTER THE SELECTABLE SETTINGS, THAT MY VEHICLE IS APPROACHING A CAR AHEAD DANGEROUSLY. THE SYSTEM IS SUPPOSED TO WARN WITH SOUND, DISPLAY, AND BRAKE NUDGE. ACCORDING TO CHRYSLER, THE SYSTEM WILL ONLY WORK AS DESCRIBED IF I AM APPROACHING THE VEHICLE HEAD UNSAFELY WITH MY FOOT STILL PRESSING THE GAS. HOWEVER, EVEN WITH MY FOOT STILL PRESSING THE GAS PEDDLE, THE SYSTEM WILL NOT RESPOND WITH ANY OF THE WARNINGS. I HAVE REPORTED MY CONCERN TO THE DEALER AND CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE. CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THE DEALER SAID THAT THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT MY COMPLAINT SINCE THERE ARE NO TROUBLE SERVICE CODES LOGGED IN THE VEHICLE. THE ACC SYSTEM WORKS AS DESCRIBED IN THE OWNER'S MANUAL. THE FCW SYSTEM USES MANY OF THE ACC SYSTEM WITHOUT THE AUTO BRAKING FEATURE. THE FCW SYSTEM SHOULD WORK, BUT IT DOESN'T. THE SYSTEM IN MY VEHICLE IS USELESS SINCE IT DOES NOT DO WHAT IT IS INTENDED TO DO WHICH IS TO MITIGATE A COLLISION BY ALERTING AN INATTENTIVE DRIVER.
