Car will not start with push button and/or key fob push. Problem started 10 months ago with dead stop/start battery. Both batteries were replaced and then two months later stop/start system failed at stop lights. Car would stall once break was released to go. Had car serviced, starter replaced. Next day, car stalled and would not restart in parking lot, service department could not find any problems and no error lights found so the solution was to turn stop/start system off. A few months later car would not start on first try, took several pushes and sometimes a keyfob push. Sometimes "no key fob detection" light. Car was sent to service center again and they could not find any problems. At this time car only starts on 2nd push. Problem has worsened over the last 5 months, car takes at least 5 tries to start or doesn't start at all. Additional observations: brake gets very tight and pressurized after the first attempted start, steering wheel is locked.
After safety recall 73B was performed on my 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid on 11/24/25, the vehicle's check engine light illuminated. Code U0412 is identified as a 'stored' code upon pulling OBD information. This is described as "Invalid Data Received From Battery Energy Control Module 'A'" indicating failure of the high voltage battery pack and its control system. The HV battery is available for inspection upon request. My safety and the safety of others are at risk because the recall was issued to prevent a battery fire. The symptoms my vehicle is exhibiting are precisely the kinds of faults the recall's software update is supposed to detect. The check engine light, appeared within days of the recall service. This strongly indicates the recall procedure, specifically the mandatory battery integrity test, was not completed correctly, and/or that there is a failure in the underlying recall procedure itself. This is a widespread issue, with numerous owners reporting the same post-recall failures to their dealership, online, and to Chrysler Cares customer service without satisfactory resolution.
Vehicle was put into reverse and did not stop, it hit a pole. Then the driver tried to put in drive to get it off of the pole and it accelerated quickly and the driver could not stop the vehicle. There was little time to react as it hit the side of a building and airbags deployed. Driver stated that the car accelerated on it's own once it was put into gear.
At a stoplight the FCW ( forward, collision), warning dash light went on and engaged the brakes, thankfully, no movement was taking place.I had to put the car in park and then drive to be able to resume. This indicates that it could have occurred at high speeds, potentially causing a collision
Power steering impaired while going about 35-40 mph around gentle curves. Carplay will no longer work with the USB port wired to phone.
I was driving and the van suddenly lost all propulsion. Brakes and steering and dash lights functioned, but there was a red turtle icon and error message about a system failure. The accelerator pedal did nothing at all. I was able to coast off the side of the road to a place to pull over, but that could have been a terrible accident if I lost power like that on I-95 or any other major highway. My husband came and we switch cars (kids, car seats, etc) and he was able to get the van to start after half an hour. It had check engine lights on for things, but the dealer said to bring it in because it was drivable again. Despite brining it in as told, with check engine lights on that they saw, they said they could not reproduce it and couldn't find codes for the check engine light (even though I pulled them from my own OBD2 diagnostic plug tool and took photos of the codes) and eventually said I have to take the car back, despite no cause or resolution. These cars have known faulty battery issues and a large number have been replaced already, but Chrysler isn't authorizing dealers to do that unless they can reliably reproduce the failure. Very frustrating to see Chrysler not go the route of other manufacturers who sourced their batteries from the same plant and ended up proactively replacing them for consumers. While Chrysler's many recalls for the hybrid battery system software have probably made it detect faults earlier to try to prevent fires, they are still known to happen, but now in addition to a fire risk, we also have a car that has a much higher chance of just losing power while driving due to over sensitive battery monitoring, or a plain old faulty battery that just isn't faulty 'enough' for Chrysler to authorize a replacement. So frustrating and dangerous.
While driving, the Pacifica lost all engine power in the middle of an intersection while traveling at 34 mph. All the dash lights blinked and sounded alerts. The car then showed U1267 and U0416 diagnostic codes.
While driving at a steady 65 mph, I suddenly lost power steering, which severely reduced my ability to steer the vehicle. I was able to safely brake and pull over. After turning the car off for a few minutes, steering function returned to normal. A few hours later, during a second drive at approximately 35 mph, I experienced the same issue again while turning onto my street. The steering wheel became extremely difficult to turn and required significant effort with both hands to maneuver the vehicle into the driveway. This sudden loss of steering control posed a serious safety risk-not only to myself, but also to other drivers on the road-and could have easily resulted in an accident. No warning lights or dashboard alerts were displayed at any point. The vehicle was towed from my home to the dealership. Upon inspection, the issue was reproduced, and it was confirmed that the power steering system had failed and required repair, along with related components. All necessary repairs were completed and paid for out of pocket.
Vehicle lost all internal communications while driving. During this incident propulsion was lost, turn signals, hazards, power brakes, power steering, all electronics except speedometer failed. I was unable to put indicators on during this incident outting others at risk. It appears hazards and turn signals are CAN communication which is absolutely insane and a severe design flaw.
The contact owns a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that the sliding doors failed to close as intended and unintendedly open after being closed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the contact was informed that there was a related software update available to correct the failure. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 55,000.

My 2018 Chrysler Pacifica has ongoing electrical problems that match the same symptoms described in existing recalls, but my VIN is not included in those campaigns. The issues began around 08/30/22. The vehicle has experienced stalling, electrical shutdown, dashboard warning lights, loss of power steering issues, failure of the start-stop system, dead batteries, loud creaking, popping, squeaking noises from the front suspension, especially when turning, backing up, steering lock, or going over bumps. These events began in 2021 and continue despite numerous repairs at mechanics and dealerships. Despite repairs and inspections, the problems continue. I have reviewed NHTSA recalls and found recall numbers 18V524000, 20V334000, 19V143000 as well as battery ground recall for 2017–2019 models, and my vehicle’s problems are identical to those safety issues. The dealer confirmed that my VIN is not covered, so I have been responsible for repair costs. These defects create a serious safety hazard, especially when the vehicle stalls or loses power while driving. It places my family and other drivers at risk of a crash. We have been stranded on highways and in the center of busy intersections due to loss of power. I strongly request that NHTSA investigate whether the existing recalls should be expanded to include additional VIN ranges, since many 2018 Pacifica owners (myself included) are experiencing the same electrical failures. I have had the vehicle inspected/repaired on: 4/15/21, 9/15/22, 10/2/23, 11/22/23, 8/10/24, 7/21/25, 8/7/25, 9/23/25 for battery ground, electrical module replacement, wiring repair, and strut repairs. The issues persist despite these attempts.
After safety recall 73B was performed on my 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid on 08/25/2025, the vehicle's check engine light illuminated on 09/09/2025. I was inundated with multiple failure lights including; check engine, service electronic throttle control, service hybrid electric vehicle system, blind spot alert, and I felt like I lost power steering. I was unsure if the van was safe to drive, but was able to get it to the dealership. They were able to pull multiple codes. Including the one for the check engine light. They decided that the problem was related to the ABS control module. They replaced it and the van has been fine so far. It seems these error codes are widespread after performing recall 73B. Many other customers are complaining of the same thing. I believe these errors are from the testing to the High Voltage battery, and their 'software fix'. It's not safe to lose your power steering while driving. It's not safe to have multiple error codes continuously going off while operating the car. It's not safe to have a family car that we have been told twice to not park in the garage, charge, or park near a structure. This is their second attempt at 73B, and overall the second fire recall. My van and high voltage battery are definitely available for inspection.
The contact owns a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The contact had to press the PUSH-to-Start button several times for the vehicle to restart. The contact stated that the lights were out on the gear shifter. The driver was able to shift to park and then continued driving. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with a corroded wire in the active grill shutter system. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The contact replaced the battery. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the local dealer and also the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

Check engine light came on the day after the automatic start/stop light came on. Engine code read cylinder 4 misfire. We switched all the spark plugs and changed the cylinder 4. A couple days later check engine light came back on brought the vechile into Bergstrum. They put in a name brand cylinder 4 plug and spark plug, 2 weeks later the light came back on, same exact issue. They are now claiming it’s an engine issue potentially. Sounds like this is a BIG problem for 2018 Chrysler pacificas.
My van completely shut off, and all lights on the gear shifter stopped working. Yes, it is available for inspection until the gear shifter is replaced, as recommended by the dealership. The van lost power just as I lifted my foot off the brake to proceed into an intersection. This sudden shutdown created a traffic backup behind me and could have put me and others in danger had I entered the intersection. The issue has only occurred once for my husband while driving but has not been officially reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or service center. Yes. I took the van to the dealer, who suggested replacing the battery and the shifter. I replaced the battery and ordered the shifter, but the second failure occurred after the new battery was installed. In addition, I’ve noticed a continuous clicking sound coming from the van after it is turned off, which does not stop for approximately 5 minutes. There were no warning lights or messages before the failure. After the van shut down, the “start assist” light came on, and it did not turn off until about four days after the battery replacement.
The shifter nob will not turn on and move out of park. When I open the glove box and tap on the CAN-C Bus star connector the nob will then turn on. Other issues also with electrical throughout van dealing with the CAN-C such as driving and then it shifts very hard. And door not closing on the side.
Vehicle will start but the shifter will work. It threw a check engine light and check hybrid system code. You cannot get the vehicle out of gear and the shifter will not light up. After shutting the vehicle off and on 3 times it erased and acted like it never happened. This is the third time it has happened. What’s bad you can drive somewhere and be stuck there for hours not knowing if you need a tow or it’s going to reset again. Don’t know if something my happen while driving as well.
Electrical adaptive, cruise control, forward collision warning, and shifter all malfunctioned. It is available for inspection. There was failure to accelerate at an intersection which almost caused vehicle to be rear ended. The error codes have been pulled and shown by O’Reillys auto parts. The vehicle is pending inspection by an independent mechanic. The adaptive cruise control the Ford collision, warning and service shifter warning lamps all appeared shortly before this problem occurred.
While slowing to a stop at a traffic light, the engine stalled unexpectedly. The start/stop system did not restart the engine when I released the brake pedal. Accessories (radio, lights, etc.) remained powered, but I could not shift the vehicle into neutral. After approximately 20 minutes, I was able to restart the engine; however, the transmission remained unresponsive and the engine could not be shut off using the ignition button. I was unable to shift to neutral or turn the steering wheel. Message on dash indicated shifter module required service, and indicated that the vehicle was not in park when attempting to turn off vehicle. The vehicle was only turned off by disconnecting the 12-volt battery. The vehicle was towed to a Chrysler dealership and diagnostics completed, showing error codes with the shift module. They were unable to recreate the problem and advised replacing the shift module. When inquiring about recall V53, the dealership service department indicated that this recall had been repaired on the vehicle in 2020. These symptoms match those described in Chrysler Recall V53 (NHTSA Campaign 19V-348) for 2017–2019 Chrysler Pacifica vehicles equipped with start/stop systems, which involves a loose battery ground connection. My VIN is not currently listed in the recall as it was reportedly corrected in 2020, but the issue created a hazardous situation by stalling in traffic, disabling shifting, and preventing engine shutdown. This could have resulted in a crash if traffic conditions were different. Please investigate whether additional 2018 Chrysler Pacifica vehicles not currently included in Recall V53 should be covered or if this is a recurring safety issue with the engine start-stop (ESS) on 2017-2019 Chrysler Pacifica vehicles.
Quirk Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM Of Dorchester refused to perform Recall 73B/24V-536 on my restricted-title Pacifica (reconstructed), citing Chrysler policy. That policy doesn’t exist in the recall bulletin. I need the BPCM software update and any necessary battery replacement under the recall.
The battery of my hybrid electric minivan was damaged during a recent factory recall, and Chrysler is refusing to correct the problem. Instead, they’re trying to charge me for a new battery. Here’s the background. I recently received a recall notice (73B) for my 2018 Chrysler Pacifica hybrid minivan that warned of a possible vehicle fire. I was advised not to recharge the van and to park outside and away from structures. In January, I took the van to Russ Darrow Chrysler in the Milwaukee Auto Mall to address the issue. The check engine light came on shortly after the recall work was complete (trouble codes U0412 and P0BBE). I took the van back to the dealership as soon as possible. I was told there was a serious problem with the high-voltage battery and that it may need to be replaced. Chrysler refused to authorize the repair, so the dealership cleared the codes and released the van back to me. On [XXX], the van lost all power while my wife was merging onto a busy highway. She managed to pull over, and we had the van towed back to the dealership. The van has now been at the dealership for over 4 months. Chrysler is still refusing to fix the problem. I have since learned that there are many customers experiencing similar battery failure following the 73B recall. The Pacifica Forums (link below) details over 80 customers experiencing nearly identical battery failures after bringing their vehicles in for this recall. My safety and the safety of others are at risk. The symptoms my vehicle is exhibiting are precisely the kinds of faults the recall's software update is supposed to detect. By refusing to provide the full remedy, the manufacturer has left an unresolved fire hazard as well as the risk associated with the sudden loss of propulsion. Thank you, [XXX] [XXX] Link: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
After safety recall 73B was performed on my 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid on 02/03/2025, the vehicle's check engine light illuminated and it began experiencing charging failures. The component that has failed is the high-voltage (HV) battery pack and its control system. Diagnostic scans performed by a Chrysler dealer on [Date of diagnosis] confirmed trouble codes, including U0412, which indicate a critical fault within the battery system. The HV battery is available for inspection upon request. My safety and the safety of others are at risk because the recall was issued to prevent a battery fire. The symptoms my vehicle is exhibiting are precisely the kinds of faults the recall's software update is supposed to detect. By refusing to provide the full remedy, the manufacturer has left an unresolved fire hazard. The problem was confirmed by dealer diagnostic reports. However, both the dealer and Chrysler have refused to replace the defective battery under the recall. Their denial is based on [indicate reason for denial]. The first warning signs, including the check engine light, appeared within days of the recall service. This strongly indicates the recall procedure, specifically the mandatory battery integrity test, was not completed correctly by the dealership. This is a widespread issue, with numerous owners reporting the same post-recall failures online and to Chrysler Cares customer service.
Component/system failed: Electric Power Steering (EPS). The system intermittently fails during normal driving, showing a "Service Power Steering" warning. Diagnostic codes include U113E (lost comm w/ EPS), C2217 (SAS not calibrated), C2210 (EPS internal fault), P058C (low voltage), and P1009 (hybrid module MIL request). The issue began immediately after a Chrysler recall service where the main charging unit was replaced. Vehicle is available for inspection. Safety risk: Loss of steering assist creates a serious hazard, especially during turns or at low speeds. The steering becomes extremely heavy without warning, increasing the risk of collision or inability to maneuver safely in traffic or parking situations. Dealer confirmation: Yes. A Chrysler dealer confirmed the EPS fault and quoted $5,500 to replace the entire steering rack. No electrical diagnostics were completed, despite the issue starting after recent electrical recall work. Inspections by others: The dealer has inspected the vehicle. Chrysler corporate has been contacted but has not yet resolved the issue. No inspections by police or insurance. Warning signs: The issue started right after the dealership performed recall work. “Service Power Steering” message appears, and diagnostic trouble codes are present. The error is intermittent and can clear after restarting, only to return later.
On Thursday, July 3, we were on our way out of town and had just gotten on a highway when I smelled something burning, saw smoke (we thought was steam at the time) coming from the hood and heard the engine making a grinding, or rattling noise so we pulled over immediately. My husband got out of the car to start to take a look when another vehicle who had just passed us backed up and motioned frantically saying “Your car is on fire!” So we got out and looked under the front of the car and sure enough, there was liquid spilling onto the ground and fire coming from underneath. So we quickly got away from the car and called 911. Another gentleman who had been going West also stopped to make sure everyone was okay and was also calling 911. Within 10-14 minutes the front of the car was totally engulfed in flames.
The hybrid battery system is malfunctioning. I am not at risk. I am repeatedly getting U0412 error code, indicating a problem with voltage in the hybrid battery system. It only happens intermittedly. I have taken it into the dealer when the check engine light is not on (unfortunately), and they did not find any issue. One time while driving at highway speed, I did get an immediate red message saying "check hybrid system". It went away with the check engine light remaining on for about an hour. This has occurred after (and I think because of) the 73B recall.
I am writing to formally report ongoing and unresolved electrical issues with my 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. Despite replacing both the main and auxiliary batteries, several components continue to fail, including: •The third-row power seats, which do not function at all or operate intermittently, rendering them impossible to stow or adjust. There is no manual override, which is a serious design flaw for families. •The rear liftgate, which starts to open and then immediately closes without completing its cycle. •The passenger-side rear entertainment screen, which is completely non-functional while the driver’s side screen works normally. These issues have severely impacted the usability and reliability of the vehicle. The third-row seat and tailgate problems, in particular, compromise safety and convenience—especially for families with children. The third-row power seat design lacks a manual fallback, which could leave passengers stuck in emergency situations. The liftgate’s failure to open fully and the battery system’s unreliability and constant need for replacement (around every 1.5/2 years) has left my stranded countless times. These electrical issues need recalls and solutions.
After the 73B recall was performed on my 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, the vehicle began experiencing persistent check engine lights and charging issues, especially during charging. Diagnostic scans revealed codes U0412 (invalid data from battery energy control module) and P0BBE (hybrid battery pack voltage variation), both directly related to the high-voltage battery system. These issues began within days of the recall and escalated, with the battery fault becoming permanent by late May 2025. The recall was issued due to a risk of fire from the high-voltage battery, caused by defects that can develop over time. The recall remedy included a software update to monitor for dangerous battery conditions and disable charging if a risk is detected, as well as inspection and replacement of the battery if necessary. My vehicle’s post-recall symptoms—persistent warning lights and charging faults—are exactly the type of problems the recall is meant to detect. The problem was confirmed by diagnostic data and scan reports, which were sent from the dealer to Chrysler’s technical support (STAR), but the vehicle itself was not physically inspected by the dealer or STAR. Both refused to authorize battery replacement, citing the contradicting STAR report, despite clear evidence of battery failure and the recall’s stated purpose. The battery and related components are available for inspection upon request. My safety and my family’s safety are put at risk, as the recall specifically warns owners not to charge or park the vehicle near structures until the remedy is complete, due to fire risk. Multiple other owners have reported similar post-recall battery failures, indicating a broader unresolved safety issue. Chrysler has not provided a satisfactory resolution, and the vehicle continues to exhibit battery faults and charging issues after the recall remedy.
Vehicle engine shuts off while driving down the road. Will start up after a few minutes. Traction control light and auto start stop light will come on. Random right wheel noise will come and go. Have had multiple mechanic shops check vehicle with no findings. Vehicle loses all power when shuts down.

While driving on the freeway, the van suddenly started to ‘drag’ and alarm that the start/stop system was unavailable. I was barely able to pull off the freeway before the van completely stopped moving and would not start up again.
The hybrid battery coolant heater (part 68443445AC) was confirmed a problem, however the dealership wont review ANY recalls on my vehicle until I pay $1700 to replace that part. However, there are MULTIPLE incidents online showing this is a problem with this vehicle and should be a recall as this is obviously defective within the first 150000 miles. My car has roughly 124K miles, making it just outside the warranty coverage. Shortly before this lamp warning (check engine) came on my steering wheel started "sticking" making it hard to steer in a curve, causing me to veer off the road. Within 7 days of this happening, is when my check engine light appeared, throwing code POE15. The heat now also takes much longer to warm up- like 30 minutes longer. The dealership said none of the issues are connected, however after online research I have determined that is not true.
The contact owns a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that since 2019, the "Auto START/STOP feature unavailable" message was displayed on the instrument panel. Due to the failure, the vehicle intermittently failed to start, the vehicle was jerking and hesitating while depressing the accelerator pedal, and the vehicle also shut-off unintendedly while driving at various speeds. The vehicle had been towed to a dealer on several occasions and the auxiliary and the main batteries replaced; however, the failure returned approximately a year and a half later. To prevent the failure from recurring, the contact disabled the Auto START/STOP feature to prevent the vehicle from stalling. The contact stated that numerous repairs had been performed on the vehicle and that the only other solutions would be to replace the transmission, perform a software update or replace a possible unknown sensor. Additionally, the contact stated that while turning off the vehicle there was an abnormal knocking sound coming from the engine. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was given a case number. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 64,000.

Vehicle just dies when you brake. This has now happened twice. Once in May 2024 and now Oct 2024. You have no steering and cannot be put into neutral or park. Must pull neutral cord to get pushed out of road. No codes pull up other than the neutral cord used. In May 2024 towed to dealer and they replaced starter but could not find anything else. In Oct 2024, took it to an independent car place and he could not find anything wrong, just re-boot computer. This is very dangerous; this is a handicap van modified for a wheelchair person to be put in through the back of the van. If I get hit in the back, I can't get my son out of the van. Extremely unsafe! I know the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica's were recalled for this and I believe the powertrain control module software was updated or the chip was replaced. This needs to be recalled for the 2018's also.
The contact owns a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated while driving approximately 40 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that there was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the power steering and braking functionality were inoperable. The contact had the vehicle towed to a dealer. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the batteries and the alternator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V348000 (Electrical System). The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 104,417.

The vehicle has stalled several times while driving and while at a stop light leaving the van completely disabled and it will not turn on or start again. My wife and 2 year old were put at risk when the vehicle stalled on them at a major intersection and my wife was unable to put the vehicle into parking or drive since there was no power after it stalled and dashboard lights flicked on and off multiple times.. Stall has also happened at drive thru almost causing collision with vehicle in front. The stall produces dashboard error messages reporting an internal transmission malfunction, auto start/stop error, and or a problem charging the battery. Certified ASE mechanics can’t reproduce the issue or find anything to pin point the issue after multiple diagnostic tests ran and physical thorough inspection. Every time a stall happens loads of error codes (85+) pull up but none point to the root cause of stalling happening. Vehicle has most up to date software update done over a year ago.
Purchased vehicle used and have put on miles. But since day 1 issues have been arising. First the Auto stop/start function stopped, 2 years later still unable to find the fix. More recent the gear shift just doesn’t work/turn on randomly or turns off while driving which is a safety concern. Now for the past 2 months the gear shift will not work or while driving the vehicle just loses acceleration and braking and slows to a stall and I can’t do anything until the gear shift turns back. I had 3 children on [XXX] when this started putting all our lives in danger. We were stuck for 2 hours the vehicle ran but was not drivable. Every mechanic says something different and it is a luck of the draw if the vehicle will work when you try it. Batteries all tested good. No obvious other issues other than loss of power steering for a short time. All warning lights flashing on and off randomly but it coincides with the loss of driving capabilities. I just want to be done with this vehicle it’s dangerous and now I’m stuck with it. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
2018 Pacifica with multiple similar issues. August 2018 - Recall - Reprogram Powertrain Control module May 1019 - Recall fixes (Power steering and ball joint). July 2021 - start/stop light came on - took to dealership and they replaced the battery for that system. Feb 2022 - Recall customer satisfaction notification 1 Y65 July 2022 - ISSUES begin - Cylinder misfire - and car would not start and was smoking. Van was towed to dealership. The dealership had the van for 2 months and had a difficult time really diagnosing the issue. They ended up replacing the right Cylinder head - which is a major part of the engine. Just being over the 60,000 mile mark, we had to fight with Chrysler to honor the warranty on this very expensive fix. Spark plugs were also changed at that time. August 2024 - check engine light is back on, as well as the automatic start/stop button. We took to Auto zone and the diagnosis was Cylinder 6 misfire. All along we have felt there should have been a recall on this van. Is it an electrical issue that is failing? Searching online there are a lot of these complaints about Cylinder misfiring issues with this year/model. It also looks like there may have been a class action lawsuit as well. A 4 year old van should not need a major engine repair. Now here we are 2 years later with a 6 year old van and having a similar issue. We are worried it is going to be another costly fix. We have had nothing but issues with this van and it is unacceptable, especially regarding a brand new car. We have all our receipts indicating appropriate and timely oil changes and transmission flushes, etc from the dealer.
The contact owns a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated while driving approximately 70 MPH, the message that the "Vehicle Will Shut Down" was displayed and the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to call for help and had the vehicle jumpstarted. The contact stated that the vehicle failure was intermittent but became a recurring failure. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 118,000.

While driving on the highway, the car suddenly had a flash of start/stop system and then car stalled as soon as I moved to the exit lane. Once I stalled I had to stop car. Wait several minutes, and try to restart car. After several attempts and me blocking busy traffic, it restarted. This happened repeatedly even after technician said they cleared codes.
While driving on a 4-lane highway, I received a message on the dashboard "Vehicle will shut off soon". I had just a few seconds before power to the vehicle was limited. The engine stopped working and another message was displayed: "Battery Conditioning Leave Ignition in Run." After that the car would no longer move and I was in the middle of the right lane. Luckily I could get my children out safely. The vehicle was towed to the local Chrysler dealership where it is waiting for repair.
Frequently replacing axillary battery due to a power draw from the sliding drivers side passenger door. The door has a short in the wiring that has killed the battery and drained the main battery no less than 6 times since owning this since brand new in 2018. Vehicle had been stranded on roadways twice, gas station line once, and parking lots three times due to this short in the passenger door. Since removing the fuse for this door we have had no issues, except the sliding power door is now a manual door.
The contact owns a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated the Auto STOP/START light and head gasket light remained illuminated. While starting the vehicle, the vehicle was vibrating abnormally. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed a leak in the head gasket. While inspecting the vehicle, the dealer became aware of a hole in the engine, and that the engine and head gasket needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a case number. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 92,000.

I keep getting a check engine light with my Pacifica hybrid. The scanner says P1B11, soft code is P0506, Hybrid battery or wiring harness. The codes erase after driving for a long while, however, I notice that I’m not able to maintain a full hybrid battery charge for longer than a few miles. After about 5 miles of driving, I’m a 80% of battery life left. MPG averages about 30+/- something’s not right. It’s happened twice now, both times with excessive outside temperatures. 1st time while idling, 2nd time while stopped for fueling.
On 4 separate occasions the vehicle while in motion will flash an alert that states “vehicle shutting down, stop safely” and the van will proceed to completely shut down- all electrical components do not work, including the sliding doors. After 30-45 minutes, the can will start back up without issue. Has been evaluated by a Chrysler dealership mechanic, as well as 2 private mechanics. They have been unable to replicate the issue. The main and auxillary batteries have been replaced twice each. Each incident we were able to pull over safely and there have not been any injuries or crashes, but we are concerned if it happens and we can’t pull over, we could easily crash.
In March of this year (2024), while driving down the road at 45 mph, my Pacifica's dashboard suddenly lit up and flashed all kinds of warnings including ABS off, the check engine light, the parking brake, the service electronic throttle control, electronic stability control off, collision off, warning parking brake, and other lights that I'm not sure what they mean. It seemed like every warning light in the panel lit up. The van slowed down and wouldn't let me accelerate and it felt like the power steering wasn't active. I pulled into a parking lot and shut the engine off. After restarting, the check engine light was lit, but the van let me proceed. I took it to my auto shop that said the codes were all electronic/ software related and I had to take it to a dealership. The dealership said they couldn't find anything wrong and that the codes didn't save. On June 9, the lights started flashing again while I was parked in a parking lot while I was on a road trip. I was able to capture the end of it on my camera. I again turned the engine off and on again, and the van "reset" with only the check engine light on. I was able to proceed through the rest of the weekend and the check engine light actually turned off after a day. Then on June 22, the warning lights started flashing again. My son was driving this time (along with my husband and 2 other sons). He pulled into a parking lot to return the van home, but it wouldn't go into a gear. Slowly, they toggled through the gears until it would allow them to drive the van home. He also said that it felt like he lost power steering. Losing steering, the ability to accelerate, the ability to put the vehicle in gear while driving, and losing the ABS system and the electronic stability system definitely puts my family and others at risk of an accident. I am prepared to take it to my dealer if asked. It has not been inspected by anyone else accept a local car shop and the dealership.
Back in January While driving and stopping at a red light the warning light appeared that the stop/start function was unavailable. The warning "electronic service" appeared and went away. While stopped at a red light the vehicle turned off with no other warning. This put me at serious risk with my children in the car for an accident. After a minute I was able to turn my car back on get hhome. I had my vehicle serviced and had a new main battery put in. Now in June the same warning came on again. I have to pay hundreds of dollars just to get a diagnostic report. This is the second time in less than 6 months. This is putting my safety and the safety of my family at risk.
The contact owns a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact noticed a failure with the START/STOP system. The contact stated that on several occasions the vehicle lost motive power and stalled with the START/STOP engine warning light illuminated. The dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHSTA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

Head gasket is blown with not that many miles, it's blowing fuses on a daily bases, start stop function won't work. Coolant leaks. Coils damaged, and lastly ac unit won't close properly and keeps making noise.
While driving a message came across the dash to "service charging system" and then a second message appeared that said "speeds limited" and the vehicle slowed to 44mph entirely out of my control.
There is a loud clicking and popping noise from the front drivers side suspension when turning or going over bumpy ground. The car also pulls to one side unexpectedly when going around corners Sometimes while driving the car will shut down and restart as if rebooting a computer.
My Vehicle suddenly stops while the car is in motion, it shuts completely off. I had an instance where my car shut off coming off the freeway off-ramp. This has happened on numerous occasions and we have been trying to call the dealership to see if there is any recall. We are never given a straight answer and we feel unsafe to drive our vehicle
The van auto shutoff during a stop in an intersection. The van did not turn back on when the pressure was released from the pedal. The engine was off and I was in the middle of the intersection. The gear shifter knob was unable to move to a different gear. After multiple attempts to restart the car were unsuccessful, the car finally restarted after cycling through the att, run, start menus without the brake being depressed and then pressing the break and pushing the start button. This vehicle has had the recall work performed related to this issue and the repair is insufficient. The stall is intermittent and difficult to repeat.
The vehicle display reads "Service Charging System" and switches into limp mode where the vehicle is prevented from driving faster than 15 mph. After leaving the van sit for a time, it drives ok. I took the van to a Chrysler dealership twice after this happened, and the dealership could not resolve the issue. After the second time this happened, the dealership contacted an engineer at Chrysler to try and resolve the problem, but they could not. Chrysler says the problem stems from the charger that is being used, but the error/limp mode occurs not after using a charger. I am concerned that the vehicle will switch over to limp mode at any time presenting a safety risk.
The #5 cylinder keeps having a misfire sometimes causing failure of the vehicle to get up and move when needed in an emergency Situation this being a family van make even putting children in danger at times. After inspection by myself a Mechanic that even taught College Automotive repair, I have also taught Jet engine repair I find this concerning. Is what is happening is the head gasket is leaking coolant into the #5 Cylinder and we all know water will not admit a spark. Rust can be seen on the Valves and top of Piston cylinder upon inspection. This is a well know issue across the United States and Chrysler Dealers and manufacturers, their mechanics, parts and service departments also know this. This is poor workmanship inferior parts. But the most concerning is not being able to get a response out of the vehicle to get out of the way in an emergency situation and that the owners of Chrysler Corporation do not care. With the cost the consumers paid for these Vehicles it should not have to fall on them due to the inferior parts and workmanship of the manufacturing Company. The Average Consumer cannot afford to fix this issue, and some are still paying for their Pacifica's Immediate action should be taken with this problem as many Babies, Children and adult lives are being put at risk. I would recommend to stop driving these vehicles immediately until the problem is resolved. Accident waiting to happen possibly causing bodily harm.
The check engine light came on and the vehicle experienced a slight loss of power. Later the Start/Stop indicator light cam on with a message saying it has malfunctioned. Upon driving the van continues to have issues going up hills and accelerating from a stopped position. The check engine light remains steady without blinking.
Initial Symptoms: Auto-start/stop failed/tripped, plus excessive white exhaust smoke continuously exits (will not stop). Stopped driving vehicle ~26Nov2023. Problem 1: P0303 Solution 1: Ignition coil and spark plug replacements @ $905.17 (15Dec2023) Not Fixed: Error code is gone but white smoke persists. Problem 2: Chrysler tech found low coolant, traced to EGR cooler. Solution 2: Replaced EGR cooler @ $1,319.00 (05Jan2024) Not Fixed: Excessive white smoke still exits tailpipe and does not stop. Neither solution fixed the root cause. There is also an engine smoke smell in the cabin (we don't smoke). Potential Root Cause: Failed head gasket forcing coolant into the engine then burning out as white exhaust.
oticed that the CEL had come on, and after reading the codes, I found out that there was a cylinder 5 misfire. To fix the issue, I decided to replace all the spark plugs and ignition coils, and after putting everything back together, I erased the codes. However, the following day, the same code appeared again, and I realized that the coolant level in the reservoir was low. I performed a pressure test on the system and ran it to temperature, but there were no coolant leaks. While the car was running, I observed bubbles in the reservoir, and these signs pointed towards a blown head gasket. After checking online for Pacifica common issues, I found out that head gasket failure is one of the main complaints. As a mechanic with 13 years of experience, I know that these symptoms indicate a blown head gasket. Unfortunately, due to this issue, I had to leave work twice as my wife and four kids were stranded 30 minutes away from the house. This is not acceptable, and I've never had a vehicle blow a head gasket before.
After radiator was replaced by the dealership, our car has been experiencing coolant leaks that we have “repaired” twice, however the issue keeps coming back within the week. We are also experiencing stalled engine will driving, where the car just slows down instantly or stops.
The contact owns a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that the main battery and the auxiliary battery had been replaced on multiple occasions. The dealer had not yet determined the cause of the failure. The contact stated that the frequent battery failures caused the vehicle to stall while driving at various speeds with the battery and check engine warning lights illuminated. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle was diagnosed with a cylinder #3 misfire. Also, the contact mentioned that the vehicle would jerk forward upon depression of the accelerator pedal without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for a diagnostic test; however, the dealer was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 46,000.

Suddenly our Pacifica would not start and started cycling through over a dozen error messages. We were finally able to get the vehicle to start and took it to the dealership. They confirmed that the star connector needs to be replaced. After looking at many forums, this appears to be a fairly common issue among the early hybrid pacificas, to the point that I felt I should report here, especially given the recalls that have already happened due to the electrical system in the car. We just got the last recall done in August and already we now have a ~$1000 bill to repair the electrical system again. Please have someone look into how many of the pacificas need this particular connector replaced given the prevelance of people with the same issue online.
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The shifter module fails or malfunctions and it put the vehicle in park. All the electronic controls in the vehicle malfunctions even when the vehicle is driving like the ABS, displays, throttle, ADAS and all other controls How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The vehicle suddenly starts throwing the warnings while you are driving - sometimes in the freeways, it also jerks, throttle and other controls and displays goes blank, you are not sure even if the emergency flasher is activated Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Yes Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? It started almost 2 years ago in Dec 2021 when the check engine light first came, dealer tried to fix by replacing the 12 volt battery but the problems started slowly and in August 2022 disabled the vehicle completely. The vehicle had been with the dealer most of the time since then and its still not fixed as of today
We began having major issues with our van in October 2022. There were numerous incidents of loss of power and sudden increase in temperature gage. We kept fluids checked. Kept oil changed on time. We reported this to the dealership multiple times before they agreed to fix under warranty. Even after fixing factory recall (which we were charged for by the dealership) and then replacing batteries, we continued having issues with loss of power and surge in temperature gage. July 8th of 2023 engine light came on and temperature gage shot up, van stalled at the intersection. I had My self and FIVE kids in the car. This was accompanied by a sudden loss of fluids. We had the van taken to another repair shop who then told us the head gasket was blown. This happened just 4 miles after our warranty lapsed. We had to have the entire motor replaced out of pocket. More than $8,000 in repair costs so far and the van I still making noises and not driving correctly.
Driving through a parking lot when the van said shift to park and completely shut off while moving. Lost power steering and acceleration. Car then would not restart. Husband came and we hooked to his battery and somehow it cranked and we got it home.
Our engine has stalled while driving the vehicle at least four times since July 1. The engine begins to shudder, and the car will not accelerate, and then the engine completely dies. After it happened today, it was not possible to restart the engine or put it in gear. My and my family's safety was put at risk because the vehicle was inoperable. Three times this happened on major interstates with traffic moving at high speeds. I had to move my children and their car seats into another vehicle while traffic passed. We have had the vehicle in for service at least three times, at least twice at Chrysler dealers. The problem has not been reproduced (yet) but this latest time it completely disabled the vehicle so expect they will see more of the problem now. After the engine cuts out, we get an electrical warning light that flashes briefly, plus a check engine light, and a message that instructs to move the gear shift to P to start the vehicle and another that warns that the Start/Stop system needs service. We have had these all serviced, the fuel pump and battery replaced, and have been told the problem is resolved and yet it keeps happening.
The contact owns a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while her daughter was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated there were no warning lights illuminated. The contact related to the failure NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V010000 (Electrical System, Hybrid Propulsion System) however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was towed to the dealer; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

Van just unexpected shutdown no warming light nothing ! This is a handicap van rear entrance !!! On Tuesday August 8 2023, Daughter and handicapped granddaughter riding in van it just stopped she had to coast in the middle turn lanes until help arrived Did get daughter out in wheelchair push across 3 lanes traffic to safe very hot that day... On the NHTSA says as of January 17,2023 compaints on 2018 Chrysler Pacifica With inspected engine shutdown..
The service electronic stability control warning is populated after the vehicle stalled while driving on the freeway. The vehicle often jerks and stalls when taking off or driving at slow speeds but this is the first time at freeway speeds. This early caused an accident for me and my family.
My car won't start it says that the engine or accessory is on when it isn't. I had this same problem last year during covid so I replaced both the batteries last year. Now it's doing it again. This time how ever the light is flickering on the drivers side. The doors when I first got it and sometimes says still that there not enough power to operate sliding doors.
- The car still has open recall Z11 ( RU PHEV hybrid traction battery fire). - The car had open recall XE1 RU PHEV transmission open. - The car became stranded refusing to put the transmission into gear. - Had to tow the car to the dealership. The dealer stated the traction battery fuse was blown. The dealer could not pinpoint the root cause of the issue, nor did chrysler have parts readily available to fix. The car still shows there's an open short. - The dealer could not complete diagnosis because of the Z11 recall. They stated that the traction battery can not complete self check procedure. - Chrysler is unresponsive in following up on the issue.
On 5/31/22 I took my vehicle for service due @ error. The dealership Mac Hakil I-55 Jackson MS slept my vehicle until 6/2/23 telling me it was my battery charging $813.00. I feel this was a ripped off
@ error message vehicle sometimes stalls at red lights or 4 ways stops. I have to cut off the vehicle to restart.
I HAVE PROBLEM DETACTING COMPUTER FOR STATE INSPECTION IN TEXAS, ITFAILED INSPECTION DUE TO NOT DETACTNG COMPUTER
This vehicle has been towed to the dealership for service for a 5th time! Lights of all systems start flashing as not available. This time I had loss of power driving. I got off a main road, but was not able to put the car into park or engage emergency brake as no systems were available!! I sat with my foot on the break while the “p” for parking flashed and the engine just wanted to rev. I have pictures that tell some of the story. It took 40 minutes for the car to recognize that it was in park (or reset). They’ve already had this car in September of 2022, October 2022 two separate incidents, and then again for an entire month from November-December, with no loaners or funds towards rentals. Last week the car lit up the same way, but this time I was not in my neighborhood, but I was on a main road! Not being able to have power was frightening, but not being able to put that car into any gear for 40 minutes is not acceptable.
The informational screen when turned on get super super hot and has slightly warped the dashboard. I believe There is a connection between Having the informational screen on while driving and the steering wheel sticking. It sticks less when the informational screen is turned off. I worry that if I’m driving with the radio on it will catch the car on fire
Auto on/off was working for a few days (which is not normal). When in the drop off line for school it turned off for that. When I let go of the gas to go, the car shut off completely. I restarted it and it said "service shifter" and the shifter lights did not come on. I did move it to park by counting the clicks of the turns. Drove home from the school. Same day and other days following, the auto on/off is back to not working. Randomly when I start the car it says the "service shifter" message and does not light up the shifter letters. Sometimes if I turn it off and then back on it will not appear. Other times, it does and I have to just go. This is a safety hazard if it shuts off and will not turn back on. This started roughly 1.5/2 weeks ago - the week after Easter.
2018 Chrysler Pacifica T, Uconnect infotainment system shuts off and reboots every 2-3 minutes while driving. It is available for inspection upon request. When the Uconnect shuts down driver loses all features connected to the system to include: GPS/Navigation, blue tooth, in-cabin climate controls, and back up camera. This causes the driver to become distracted in order to re-synch phone, dvd player, navigation. Additionally, my wife almost backed over a 6 year old child because the back up camera shut off when backing up from a parking spot. There is an incredible risk of injury/death with this systems failure. The issue has not been reproduced by the manufacturer (FCA), dealer or independent service center. This issue is being addressed by class action lawsuit: Case 2:20-cv-11838-SFC-RSW ECF No. 1 filed 07/07/20 The vehicle was inspected by the state of Maryland. The vehicle is now at the dealership for diagnosis and I have to pay all expenses out-of-pocket. No warning indicators.
Service electronic stability
First, it started with the stop/ start not working . We took it to the shop they said we needed a new alternator. Costed us 700$ . Well the problems did not stop . The check engine light did not go off after a few times of driving it (the mechanic (crystler mechanic) said it would after a few times of driving it. Well then it started rumbling when u turned it on . Called and they said bring it back in. Well we planned on doing so but then the van wouldn't start. We had to get it towed . Well they said the fuse had blown . So when they replaced that they noticed white smoke coming out and all the coolant gone . They said it is most likely the cracked engine block which is gonna cost over 12000$ to fix . We already owe money on the car . We cannot afford this! We have 4 kids and this is a safety issue !!! Now we are out of a vehicle and still owe on it !
The car starts blowing out white smoke when started. Mechanic thinks it could be a blown gasket or Crack in engine block. The cable fuse blown as well. The vehicle did not start so it was towed to the mechanic.
Coolant leak as well as the other problems that I reported.
Car was on cruise control. While approaching traffic, attempt was made to release cruise control by braking. Brake system was locked, vehicle started accelerating and revving. Brakes would not work, had to swerve to avoid collision. Managed to fidget with the gear knob. Finally managed to gain control of vehicle. I figured I gained control because I must have shifted the gear into Neutral somehow. I had my entire family of SIX in the car. Without having gained control, the vehicle would have accelerated until I crashed it. It accelerated past 80mph before I could gain control
The end of 2021, Began not starting requiring many pushed of the start stop button; stalling when in motion on roads; gas pedal tight not depressing, engine light on and off, side auto doors often wouldn’t work automatically (battery new); was lurching and chugging randomly , over time very frequently. Nov 22’ had start stop battery replaced & fuel pump sensor. still lurched etc..worsened..late 2022 began frequently stalling , not starting, pedal would be stiff, lurched daily, stalled frequently during motion & upon first acceleration..start, try to go..stall out..finally jan 5, 2023, wouldn’t even turn over-just clicked-shop diagnosis said few codes referred to electrical panel issues.. replaced spark plugs, starter, got home, next morning, same thing ~no turnover. problem not solved. another shop, where it sits today-found cracked engine block($12,000 estimate to “attempt” replacing engine). deemed total loss as value of van is less. This has to be a defect gone undetected for some time, having built up damage over these last couple years. Many of issues are identical to recall (2019-2022) listed problems. Regardless of any recall being labeled as inactive, this vehicle is clearly a result of manufacturing issues. A 2018 doesn’t just have these problems when it’s cared for.We have four children & currently have no mode of transportation~two shops since January 6, ‘23, prior year of worsening symptoms. A safe, reliable vehicle is vital for our family’s functioning. It’s now at Lee’s Auto-seen in picture. Excel Auto was first repair attempt Jan.6. We will not be reimbursed by insurance for “mechanical failure.” Our loan is $18,000 outstanding. We pay $459.65 each month, and are responsible for remaining balance. Why should this happen to us. We certainly can’t purchase a second vehicle in conjunction with this loan. Your quick action and assistance is appreciated and direly needed.
Reverse camera screen remained on after reversing and during a ~30 minute drive. Stopped vehicle, shutoff engine, opened door to trigger interior electronic shutoff. Restarted vehicle and backup camera still remained during drive until eventually changing to full blue screen with "Camera System Unavailable" message at the top. (photo available) The event occurred during extreme winter weather in Oklahoma 1/30/2023 and is an obvious safety issue. The constant rearview display while driving is very distracting and disorienting. Additionally, the vehicle climate control settings for defog, heat, and other settings are unavailable for determining and adjusting to external environmental conditions, as experienced during the winter weather event leading to full interior fogging and reduced visibility (another mechanical safety issue prevalent to this vehicle series). This issue is found under NHTSA Campaign 19V886000 for 2018-2019 year models however, our VIN is not included. I contacted the original dealer service department, and they informed me of no related recall for our specific VIN as well. I contacted FCA/Chrysler Customer Service in reference to recall VE2 as indicated in NHTSA recall 19V886000 and informed no recall as well and no other assistance or direction. Our vehicle VIN should be included in the recall.
I am aware of the recall on this vehicle. In addition, I received a phone call and email from Chrysler stating the following: "Hello Mr./Mrs. I have attempted to get ahold of you to schedule your Z11 Recall appointment for your Pacifica PHEV. You should have recently received an important recall notice from FCA detailing the steps needed to repair your vehicle and ensure the safety of you and your passengers. If you would like me to continue to assist you with the appointment, please give me a call at 8009921997. We encourage you to schedule this service appointment as soon as possible. If you prefer to schedule the appointment by yourself, ask for the Z11 point of contact at the dealership, and be mindful that the repair takes 2 days to complete. Please be advised that I have closed your case. Thank you for being a valued Chrysler customer. Chrysler specialist [XXX]" I called two local dealerships who both said they cannot schedule because they do not have the equipment to do this repair. They said they are unaware of this central Chrysler communication. I emailed a reply to the address above to reopen the case, but they have not replied. Please help! Car engine has stalled a dozen times or so. On one occasion it stalled and would not restart, had to tow to a dealer to repair it and it ended up costing $2700. And when it doesn’t stall on the road the engine constantly has weird acceleration dips where it almost stalls. This has been a constant problem for me and I purchased the vehicle used with 39000 miles on it. Which is not much mileage so I was not expecting this many problems.
Power Steering is unavailable Stop/start is unavailable Wasn’t able to avoid an accident this morning from deer. Steering went out.
Dear Sir or Madam, There was a recall on our vehicle for the Battery Cables. It was supposed to fix the Stop/Start on our car. Prior to getting the Recall done, our car didn't restart at a stop light/sign causing us to put it back in park and restart the car. We went to have the Recall done and were told that that would not fix the problem, we needed to buy the second battery. We did - costing us over $200. I can ask for the bill for this if it is needed. I could not find it in my files. A couple of months later it started again at the stop light/signs. We took the vehicle back and they said a code was coming up under the hood and that would be no charge. They called us on 10/4/22 and said we need to purchase a switch - labor over $200 plus parts. What are we required to do to have this fixed as part of a Recall? Thank you for your time. [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
The car battery system has failed over 5x when driving. All of a sudden the car battery lights start coming on & stearing shuts down and car stops. The last time it completely shut down. No power to even run hazard lights. No power to lock the car or rollup the windows. It has been 2 weeks and dealership mechanic can not figure out what is wrong.
We were involved in a small fender bender accident, and the car caught on fire. It started with the dashboard, and it spread to the rest of the vehicle. The car ended up burnt to a crisp. Nothing salvageable.
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The van stalls, the wheels lock up, the transmission shifter becomes unusable, and of the warning light start flashing on the dashboard. Yes, it’s available for inspection upon request. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? It stalled in the middle of the road blocking traffic from both ways and was unable to be moved for over half an hour. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes, by an independent service center. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Yes Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No, not until the day it stalled on 8/30/2022z
Van started running slightly rough in the mornings if the engine was cold. CEL eventually came on with a P0304 DTC. I replaced the igntion coils and spark plugs since the van was right at 80,000 miles. Seem to run fine for a day after, then issues came back. Took it to the dealership for more in-depth troubleshooting and repair. They failed to do anything after almost two weeks except that now my van wouldn't start. Took the van to a non-dealership affiliated repair shop and they said the starter had failed, but the engine passed the pressure check of the head. Waited almost another two weeks for a new starter, mechanic got it back together, found some coolant coming out of the exhaust manifold and recommended adding leak stop that there might be a small casting issue with the engine. They added leak stop and returned the van to me stating they think there was a small hole in the engine from casting and that coolant was getting by and causing the misfire. Subsequently, the coolant would then travel to the catalytic converter where it would burn off but caused the cat to be much hotter than normal and that was in-turn frying the starter which is pressed up right next to the cat. The van continued to run rough for a couple days before it finally wouldn't start again and now i'm having to have it towed back to the shop. I suspect the issue may a issue with a warped head or something even worse. A cursory search of both online forums and NHTSA reports that this is not a one off or new issue and only seems to be getting worse and more prolific as the average age of the fleet pushes towards 80-100K+ miles. Modern vehicles should be able to go 150-200k miles before head gasket issues become a serious concern.
I have owned van for 1 year and taken it into the shop 6 times for blown head gasket, leaking coolant, over heating due to leaking coolant, and now it needs a new ignition coil and spark plug due to coolant leaking. Check engine light pops on every time and the van notifies me that the engine is over heating. Must pull over on the side of the road to let car cool down. Problem has been confirmed, taken to car dealer at every instance. After issue has been taken to dealer and "fixed" check engine light returns after 4-6 weeks, every time. Paperwork can be provided on request.
Van showed the message "Stop safely the vehicle will shut off" and stopped on the road. It was immobile for close to 30 mins. I was able to start and drive back home. It again stopped on the road on the way to the dealer. I have seen number of complaints on this van on the internet. My van is still with the dealer and they could not fix the problem in the past 15days
I was driving and pulled up to a stop light. The car all of a sudden turned off. I had to place the car in park, and reset. The error light said to service the auto start stop feature. This is the third time the car has turned off in the middle of driving.
Months after a start/stop recall software update, my wife and children were entering the intersection to make a left turn and made a complete stop. The vehicle’s engine stopped. The oncoming traffic cleared up. My wife proceeded to make the left turn but the vehicle did not respond. The engine did not restart on its own. The D on the shift gear began to flash. The throttle sensor lightning bolt symbol appeared on the dash and there was nothing that would allow the vehicle to shift or restart. The vehicle needed to to be powered off. The traffic light turned red and the car was blocking the intersection for the other traffic. After restarting the vehicle, the turn was completed and ran normally. This occurred 3 more times at a stop light on different occasions. The dealership found a wiring issue associated with the start/stop and the vehicle hood open sensor.
I was driving on the highway at approximately 60mph when the engine suddenly quit and the message "Put vehicle in Park to restart" appeared on the console. I managed to get parked in a precarious position on the wedge between an on ramp and the interstate. Although I was able to shift into Park I was not able to restart the vehicle for some time. During that time I called Chrysler Roadside assistance which could not help with the problem and 911 (because it was so unsafe to remain in place) A policeman came and called for a tow but while waiting, the car finally shut down and restarted. The check engine indicator was still on but I managed to drive to the next exit and get to a safe location. I finally was contacted by Roadside Assistance but they could offer no assistance. I restarted the car. The check engine light was off and I completed my trip without incident. This is the third time this problem has occurred. In the other two incidents the vehicle restarted right away. This is an extremely dangerous behavior, however, and seems to be commonly reported on chrysler forums. I do not know if it is related to the current recall or not. I was under the impression that prior recalls had resolved this problem but see it reported in more current models as well. Chrysler apparently does not understand the cause or have a fix. In most cases, it appears they are unconcerned.
I took my van in for recall work to replace the hybrid battery. Since then I have had to return 5 times because the coolant keeps getting low, and the "Hybrid electrical system" and "check engine" lights come on after a few days of driving. I have reported smelling fire when this happens. I take it to the dealer. They top off the coolant and reset the lights and send me on my way now. The first 4 times they kept the car for 3 days to do this and drive it about 200 miles after topping it off. I contacted Chrysler directly and they tell me its not their problem. I need to deal with the dealer. The dealer has no idea what they are doing. I am attaching the recall notice. The dealer has all copy's of the receipts where the work was completed.
The warning sign came on referring to the start/stop not working. First time in 11/2021I took to the dealership& was sched for a “recall that would fix the warning light. When i came in for this specific repair i had to pay $357 jan 2022. Now today is the 2nd time this light has came on& it is may 1, 2022 & warning light is on again referring to start stop not working…..i was not reimbursed for the 1st repair that was actually a recall…..
Car will unexpectedly send a message on the dash that says to "Stop Safely Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon". This will be followed by a complete shut down of the vehicle with no electric power to accessories, the engine, brakes, lights, etc. This can happen while underway at any speed and it will render the vehicle totally uncontrollable and risk injury to vehicle occupants and other vehicles and pedestrians. This failure has happened approximately 5 times and fortunately, there have been no accidents of injuries. The vehicle has been taken or towed into the Chrysler dealer 3 times. On the first visit, they said it was the battery. Battery was replaced under warranty. Since then, the dealer can not duplicate the problem but problem returns unexpectedly once it has been returned to us. This is very scary and we can not trust this vehicle, particularly because we do use it to transport our 3 grandchildren who are all below the age of 7.
The contact owns a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that the passenger’s side sliding door button failed to open and close the door whether on the inside or outside of the vehicle. The driver’s side door overhead button was able to open and close the door. The failure had occurred intermittently and had since been occurring more frequently. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who stated an update for the software needed to be performed. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 32,000.

When car is shut off, there is a mechanical/thrumming/grinding sound that you can hear coming from the center of center console, quite possibly carried through the vents. Very rhythmic, but sometimes not, can go on for several minutes, sounds like it could be an opening and shutting of a fresh air vent, does not sound good, like it could be overheating a small electrical motor that could overheat and start a fire. Not clear what stops it, maybe an overheat sensor, when it stops there is a releasing/settling sound that is longer than the clicking/moving/servo motor kind of sound that happens continuously. Happens VERY regularly, not every time, sometimes only lasts a few seconds, sometimes several minutes. Can be heard from outside the vehicle, too. I captured a video that has the sound in it see https://youtu.be/tDlwzWUmJv4.
1. The battery for the auto start/stop system has been dead (since a week after my warranty expired). The Start/Stop warning light has been on ever since. 2. The side sliding doors on both sides are temperamental. It takes a few tries to make them stay closed. 3. The button on the outside front door handle no longer functions when I push it to lock the doors. I can lock from the FOB or from the inside of the car.
Vehicle randomly loses all steering power and van completely shuts off while in motion. Has happened twice now without warning. Won't start up til vehicle is in park and has stalled for a minute.. Could be potentially very dangerous on a highway or busy intersection. I have owned this vehicle for less than 1 year. According to consumerreport.org certain pacificas years 2017-2019 had this same issue back in 2019 and approximately 150,000 were recalled at the time. However, currently there is no open recall active. Reference NHTSA campaign number:19V348 Reference FCA recall number:V53
The contact owns a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated he was unable to start the vehicle. The contact stated that the check engine, brakes, and steering fault warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 16,342. Consumer stated VIN number is not included in the recall V53.

We purchased our 2018 Chrysler Pacifica used in 2019. In 2021 we started having issues with the rear left passenger sliding door. It will randomly open and close on it's own. Sometimes it takes 3 or 4 times before it will latch. It has never opened while moving but just randomly when getting in or out. Then in late 2021 the vehicle started having random "stall out" moments. It has happened 7 times now. It started when we were driving and we noticed its mainly when accelerating. The vehicle will stall out for a good 5-15 seconds. Occasionally dropping from 70mph (on the interstate) to 35 mph in seconds. This is super dangerous and a huge safety hazard. We stopped driving on the interstate and it would seem to do it most when it was being accelerated at a light change. Again, very scary moments. The vehicle will have lights begin to flash on the dashboard, etc. We have had it at the dealership 3 times now and have spent countless money on "fixing" different things that it could be, but every time we drive it home within a day or so the incidents happen again.
Vehicle would not start and would not move out of "run" position so I could not turn it off. Multiple warning lights and messages appeared including service transmission, service shifter, vehicle not in park, also shifter lights would not come on. Could not jump start it. Eventually had to disconnect the battery and then reconnect to get it started. This is not the first time this has happened, though the first time it was stuck in the run position where I couldn't even turn it off. Shifter has already been replaced once after the first time this has happened. Auxiliary battery has also been replaced prior to this latest incident. Dealership has no idea what is wrong. I did see a prior recall that had supposedly been done regarding battery grounding, but this makes me question the work. Safety issue because I could not get the car out of the run position and it was in my garage. Also, when I did get it running, it would not go into reverse. I had to drive forward a little in my garage and then put it in reverse which worked.
The problem occurring on the vehicle is the inability of the vehicle to start despite the battery being fully charged. A little red dot 🔴 appeared on the instrument panel upon starting vehicle the day prior to incident. The day of the incident the vehicle wouldn’t turn over and the check engine light had come on. Upon calling AAA the vehicle had been jumped and started up fine. Next morning vehicle would not start and had to be jumped again. AAA was called again and they checked the battery and it was good. They felt there was a problem with the relay system. Also to be noted, the battery for the auto start/stop system is currently dead; dealership said it wouldn’t cause any problems If it wasn’t replaced. The battery for the key fob had been replaced a few months prior to this incident. Vehicle can be available for inspection. My family runs the risk of being stranded if the problem persists.
While driving the van suddenly stops and the engine cuts out-this has been accompanied by multiple dashboard warning lights going on and off. The steering wheel also locks up when this happens. The van shows that it is still in run mode but will not move until it is turned off completely and then restarted. This has occurred while in traffic driving at normal speeds as well as when turning. In these instances I had my kids in the vehicle with me. Following one incident the vehicle would not restart for about 2-3 minutes. When attempting to start the dashboard lights and interior lights would flash on and off and then stop. I have taken it to an independent repair shop that was unable to correct any issues due to proprietary Chrysler programming. My local Chrysler dealership told me that they could not replicate the issue. I have also had issues with the side and rear power doors opening part way and then closing and vice versa. This incidents have occurred while the vehicle was running but not in motion. The local dealership did diagnose an electrical issues with the rear folding seats that was caused from a programming bug that they indicate was fixed. All of these issues have occurred multiple times and every time I am told that it could not be replicated so there was nothing to be done. Currently the van is not operational as it will not start, when attempting to start ALL the lights (internal and external) flash on and off, the vehicle indicates that it is in run mode but the engine is not on. I did have the battery tested, it’s fine. Multiple online searches revel that I am not the only consumer with this issue.
I was driving down the road and on a 8 lane road I came to a stop light. At the stop light my Van shut down and would not restart or turn back on. I was dead in the road with kids in the car almost getting hit from behind. I have video of the incident.
Vehicle stops in the middle off traffic. Engine will start but car will not move. Numerous warning lights appear such as:vehicle not in park (it is in park), rear brake assist unavailable, shift to P then desired gear, service electronic stability control, park brake temporarily unavailable. The vehicle accelerator pedal can be floured and the RPM is only 1500. After tow trick delivers me home, the vehicle will miraculously drive unimpeded for days and weeks until the very same thing happens. Repair facilities have said they can find nothing wrong/cannot duplicate.
Vehicle caught on fire under the engine on the passenger side. It was contained within the engine compartment. I smelled smoke and thought it was from outside. Not seeing any haze outside I check my vehicle indications and all were normal. When I stopped to wait to make a left turn that’s when I saw the smoke and pulled over. Police and fire put out the flames. The car is currently in the shop being repaired and nobody can tell me why it happened but they are repairing it. I’m concerned for the safety of my family.
The upper control arms bushings needed replaced due to a popping noise from the wheel any time I turned. You then could feel the pop under your feet when you turn. We got them fixed, but now it has started popping again just 2 weeks later. There is now a rattling/clanging noise coming from the feet area when you hit a bump. It’s pretty loud at times and you can feel vibrating in the steering wheel. I feel very unsafe with my two children being in the car and traveling around town. The auto start stop battery has also been replaced many times. It keeps going out and will make my car turn off while driving at times.
2018 Chrysler Pacifica stalled while making a turn in an intersection. Dash message said something like put in park and hit stop/start and the D on the shifter was flashing
Transmission doesn’t shift properly. Highway going normal speeds, switch lanes and when pushing gas peddle, it instead slipped and decreased speeds almost causing an accident. Dealership says nothing is wrong. Eco start stop illuminated and front collision warning light also on.
CHRYSLER PACIFICA 2018 PROBLEMS TO START START BUTTON TURNS ON AFTER POWERING VAN SOME TIMES AND TAKES A FEW SECONDS AND BRAKE LIGHT TURN OFF SO THE VAN WONT SWITCH GEARS ALL HAZARD LIGHTS STAY ON I HAVE REPLACED THE TWO BATTERYS TWO TIMES AND DOESNT HELP WTH IN THE LAST YEAR IN A HALF VERY CONCERN WORRY HAVE SMALL CHILDREN
The first thing I would like to address is the shutdown system eco feature has shutdown out of nowhere. An A indicator light is on dash, along with my check engine light. In addition, when I turn the vehicle on the RPM go sky high for about 45 seconds before it adjust to proper rpms. I also believe there are major electrical issue going on with the vehicle. My power doors, and rear door won’t open and the lights in the minivan flicker when the vehicle starts. I am worried this is my only family means for transportation. I have only had this vehicle for a little over a year.
We purchased the vehicle new from an out-of-state dealership (Ewald Chrysler Jeep Dodge LLC in Franklin, WI) in November 2019. Since that purchase, we have suffered four (4) failure events in which the vehicle completely loses power while driving, having experienced the first failure event just 10 months after purchase at approximately 15,000 miles. In each instance, the vehicle will, without warning and while in motion, power off and cease to move under its own power, illuminate a check engine light (CEL), and display a ‘Shift to P to Start’ message on the console. In every instance, the complete loss of driveability has required immediate and urgent action to move our vehicle out of lanes of travel and onto the shoulder. In all but one instance, the vehicle fails to restart without significant intervention (e.g., towing to the dealership) and has left our family stranded. To facilitate repairs, we have shared CEL event logging, a video, and photos with the below-listed dealerships. To date, the dealership states that they are unsure as to the cause of the failures and can not find any obvious issue requiring repair beyond the P0C0E code that is stored in the vehicle's ECM. Our vehicle has been in for repair on the following dates for this recurrent failure: August 3, 2020 (15,900 mi): died while driving, serviced at Larry Miller Chrysler Jeep Avondale August 7, 2020 (15,978 mi): died while driving, serviced at Chapman Dodge Chrysler Jeep June 30, 2021 (33,863): died while driving, serviced at Chapman Dodge Chrysler Jeep July 3, 2021 (34,300): died while driving, serviced at Chapman Dodge Chrysler Jeep
We are travelling on the freeway and suddenly the electronic stability control kept on flashing. This just happened two days ago and until now we have this message in the car. Also about a year ago we are driving on the freeway and suddenly the car stopped and could not start. This problem kept on happening.
I was driving about 45MPH, slowed up to a green traffic light, turned right and accelerated. The car lost power for about 5 seconds, then came back on after I had pulled to the side. We brought it in for service, but Chrysler could not duplicate or diagnose the issue. Then, twice, my wife was stopped at a stop sign or traffic light. She got a green left arrow, accelerated into her turn, and the car lost power, then resumed after about 3-5 seconds each time. After her second occurrence, my wife drove it straight to the dealership, got the service advisor to drive the vehicle with her, he turned right into another dealership, and the car lost power for 3 seconds. Again, Chrysler was unable to diagnose and repair the problem.
Car started and the shifting knob got stuck in nuetral this isn't the the first time this has happened . No mater what I tried it wouldn't budge had to the dealer twice about it they said they needed to order a part. They are in northeast Ohio Right now I am 200 miles from home on a Sunday . And hope a local dealer has the part This van has been a disappointment to say the least.
Sliding door shuts, beeps and reopens. we have to hit the button 3-5 times before it shuts. Back up camera flashes blue and does not work. Aux battery keeps going dead and the auto start stop quits working. I just had to spend 1000 to fix all the issues. after seeing other comments this seems to be quite a problem with a lot of these vans.
I WAS STOPPED AT LIGHT GOING STRAIGHT AND WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, I PRESSED ON THE GAS PEDAL BUT THE VAN WOULDN'T MOVE AS IT HAD STALLED OUT. THE SHIFT KNOB WAS STUCK ON DRIVE WHICH STARTED BLINKING AND THE START/STOP WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND TRIED TO RESTART IT BUT IT STILL FAILED TO MOVE. I TRIED TO RESTART IT A SECOND TIME AND THIS TIME IT DID START TO MOVE. EXTREMELY INCONVENIENT AND UNSAFE WHEN STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION. ALSO HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THE LEFT PASSENGER REAR DOOR CONTINOUSLY OPENING BACK UP AFTER TRYING TO CLOSE IT. NOTHING IS IN THE WAY OF THE DOOR WHICH I HAD CONFIRMED MULTIPLE TIMES SO I'M NOT SURE IF SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE SENSOR OR IF IT'S PART OF THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILING.

MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE STATIONARY WHEN STARTING THE CAR, THE PUSH BUTTON STARTER WILL FAIL TO START THE ENGINE. UPON SECOND ATTEMPT TO START THE CAR THE STARTER HAS A PROLONGED SERIES OF CRANKS AND FINALLY STARTS. THE CONCERN IS THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES AFTER JUST PURCHASING THE CAR. THIS COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE IF IT HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING, AND ENGINE SHUTS OFF, OR COULD STRAND US WITHOUT THE THE ABILITY TO START THE CAR.
Mileage: 34,548
I WAS DRIVING STRAIGHT AT 40MPH. THE ENGINE TURNED OFF, BUT ELECTRICAL MAINTAINED. AFTER A COUPLE HUNDRED FEET THE ENGINE CAME BACK ON. WITHOUT PUSHING ON THE GAS THE ENGINE ACCELERATED THE CAR OVER A SHORT DISTANCE, BREAK WAS INPUTTED AND FULL CONTROL WAS RESTORED TO THE PHYSICAL. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, BUT NOTHING WAS DONE AS THEY COULDN'T REPLICATE THE ISSUE. THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD NUMEROUS ELECTRICAL ISSUES.

HAD A WHEEL ALIGNMENT IT STILL PULLING TO THE SIDE .I DO THINK IT THE CONTROL ARM LOWER ARM,TRAIN AXLE ASSEMBLY AXLE SHAFT. RADIO DOESN'T WORK CORRECT OR WITH BLUETOOTH. IF I GET A CALL IT WON'T GO BACK TO PLAYING THE RADIO OR BLUETOOTH. NEED TO TURN OFF CAR FOR AWHILE AND START AGAIN! BACK CAMERA SOMETIMES BLACKOUT.
MY VAN COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING WITH MY 2 KIDS IN THE CAR AND WOULD NOT START BACK UP. IT WAS NOT FROM THE AUTO START/STOP FEATURE. THE RADIO INTERIOR LIGHTS EVERYTHING SHUT OFF. IT WOULD NOT EVEN ALLOW ME TO GET IT IN N TO PUSH IT. IT WAS VERY SCARY BECAUSE I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF A HIGHWAY WITH MY CHILDREN. IT IS NOT MY BATTERY, ALTERNATOR, OR STARTER BECAUSE I'VE HAD THEM TESTED. AFTER SPEAKING TO MULTIPLE PEOPLE AND READING ON THE CHRYSLER FORUMS THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE. IF THIS ISSUE PERSISTS I WILL BE TRADING IT IN FOR A DIFFERENT MAKE AND MODEL. BUMMED BECAUSE I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS VAN.

THE VAN WAS RUNNING AND I WAS STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION, WAITING TO TURN LEFT. A WARNING MESSAGE POPPED UP ON THE DASH--SOMETHING ABOUT THE START/STOP SYSTEM. I RELEASED MY FOOT FROM THE BRAKE SO AS TO CONTINUE THROUGH THE INTERSECTION. INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR LIGHTS REMAINED ON HOWEVER THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE. I COULD NOT TURN THE SHIFT KNOB OUT OF DRIVE, EVEN AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. DEPRESSING THE GAS PEDAL HAS NO EFFECT. AT SOME POINT I MAY HAVE PRESSED THE BRAKE AND THEN TURNED THE SHIFT KNOB BACK TO PARK. I WAS THEN ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND GET OUT OF THE INTERSECTION. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME AFTER BUT THE EXPERIENCE WAS DANGEROUS AND FRIGHTENING.

WHILE I AM AT A QUICK STOP - STOP SIGN, ROTARY, LIGHT, INTERSECTION - MY VEHICLE WILL SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING, CAUSING ME TO HAVE TO PUT THE CAR INTO PARK, RESTART, AND PUT THE CAR BACK INTO DRIVE BEFORE I AM ABLE TO CONTINUE IN MOTION. THIS CAUSES ME TO STALL FOR 30 SECONDS - 1 MINUTE WITH TRAFFIC PILING UP BEHIND ME.

THE ENGINE WOULD NOT TURN, THERE WAS NO WARNING SIGN OF CHECK ENGINE FOR THAT DAY AND FOR BEING A CERTIFIED PRE-USED VEHICLE THERE SHOULD BE WARRANTY FOR ELECTRICAL AND THE TRANSMISSION.
TOUCH SCREEN IS NOT TURNING ON. I HAVE STARTED MY VEHICLE A FEW DIFFERENT TIMES HOPING WILL COME BACK ON, BUT NO LUCK. UNABLE TO GET TO ANY OF THE FUNCTIONS INCLUDING BACKUP CAME DOES NOT COME ON WITH IS A SAFETY ISSUE IN ACCORDANCE, "THE U.S. NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION ANNOUNCED THAT IT WOULD REQUIRE ALL AUTOMOBILES SOLD IN THE UNITED STATES BUILT BEGINNING IN MAY 2018 TO INCLUDE BACKUP CAMERAS." UNABLE TO USE ANY OF THE CLIMATE CONTROLS, HEATED SEATS OR VENTED SEATS, RADIO, UCONNECT ETC.. ALL FEATURES UNABLE TO USE DO TO BLACK SCREEN. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES WITH MULTIPLE SCREEN SWAPS AND CONTINUES TO HAPPEN. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP HUMIDITY CAUSES THE SCREEN TO GO BLACK OR NOT WORK. I ADDITION, I HAVE NOTIFIED THE DEALERSHIP WHEN CHANGING OUT THE SCREEN PLEASE CHANGE ALL WIRING HARNESS. I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS WAS EVER COMPLETED OR NOT. THERE IS A SHORT SOMEWHERE AND WITHOUT BACK UP CAM WORKING IT IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. I WILL BE DRIVING AND THE SCREEN WILL GO BLANK. THIS HAS BEEN ON GOING FOR OVER A YEAR SINCE 2019

VERY FREQUENTLY THE UTHEATER APPLICATION WILL NOT WORK AFTER SHUTTING VAN OFF AND RESTARTING. WE HAVE GONE THROUGH 1 BATTERY A YEAR EVEN THOUGH IT IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE A 5 YEAR LIFE. AFTER STOPPING AT A RED LIGHT THE AUTO START/STOP CAUSES THE VAN TO DIE. I HAD TO COMPLETELY RESTART THE VAN. OUT OF NOWHERE DRIVING HOME DOING ABOUT 50 MPH IT FLASHED A LOW BATTERY ALERT THEN DIED WITHIN 2 MINUTES WHILE DRIVING. THANK GOD I WAS ONLY A BLOCK FROM HOME AND IT WAS DOWNHILL. MY VAN JUST HAD THE BATTERY REPLACED AGAIN AND AGAIN WON'T START. THIS BATTERY IS 2 WEEKS OLD. I HAD TURNED OFF THE AUTO START/STOP AS DIRECTED BY MY DEALERSHIP AND IT CONTINUES TO DRAIN BATTERIES. AFTER DOING RESEARCH I FOUND ABOUT 100 CASES WITH THE SAME ISSUES. IF I WOULD HAVE STILL BE ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN IT DIED I COULD HAVE BEEN HIT. THIS HAS HAPPENED ABOUT A DOZEN OR MORE TIMES IN THE YEAR AND A HALF WE HAVE HAD THE VAN. THE FIRST TIME THE BATTERY DIED WAS LESS THAN 2 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING THE VAN. NEW BATTERY WAS PUT IN AT REQUEST AT PURCHASE. DIED AFTER GOING MAYBE 20 MILES AN HOUR.

WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR, MY POWER STEERING SUDDENLY WENT OUT. IT SAID, "POWER STEERING UNAVAILABLE" ON THE DASHBOARD. THANK GOD THERE WAS NOT A CAR WAITING TO TURN ON THE ROAD I TURNED ONTO BECAUSE I PROBABLY WOULD HAVE CRASHED INTO THEM. IT TOOK ALL MY MIGHT TO TURN THE CAR ONTO THE NEIGHBORHOOD STREET. THE POWER STEERING IS GOING IN AND OUT, BOTH WITH WARNING LIGHT AND LOSS OF POWER STEERING. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT VARIOUS SPEEDS AND CONDITIONS AND IS VERY DANGEROUS, NOT ONLY WHEN STEERING GOES OUT, BUT WITH THE SUDDENNESS OF IT COMING BACK ON. MY 2018 CHRYSLER PACIFICA CONTINUES TO STALL WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION ON THE STREET. THE LAST TWO OCCURRENCES HAPPENED WHEN THE CAR WAS MOVING AT 25MPH OR HIGHER WITH MY FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL. THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED PRIOR TO THE FCA V53 RECALL BEING ISSUED, AND HAS PERSISTED EVEN AFTER TAKING THE CAR IN TO BE FIXED UNDER THE RECALL. IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN MOST OFTEN IN THE FIRST 15 MINUTES OF OPERATING THE CAR, AND ESPECIALLY IF I HAVE GONE ABOVE 30 MILES AN HOUR AND THEN DECELERATE (LIKE APPROACHING A LIGHT). THE CAR WILL LURCH, SHUT OFF, ALL THE INDICATOR LIGHTS WILL COME ON, AND THEN 'START/STOP REQUIRED' WILL APPEAR ON THE DASHBOARD. THE CAR ALWAYS SHUTS OFF WHILE IN THE "DRIVE" POSITION. SOMETIMES I AM ABLE TO REMEDY THE STALLING QUICKLY, AND SOMETIMES IT TAKES MORE THAN THREE TRIES. ONE OR MORE FUNCTIONS OF THE VEHICLE IS ALWAYS "UNAVAILABLE" AFTER THIS OCCURS. THE SUDDEN STOPPING HAS ALWAYS BEEN TERRIFYING AND UNEXPECTED. ON THE LAST TWO OCCASIONS (WITHIN A WEEK OF ONE ANOTHER), I HAVE COME VERY CLOSE TO BEING REAR-ENDED WITH THREE BABIES IN THE BACK SEAT OF MY CAR. I HAVE TRIED REACHING OUT TO CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE TO NO AVAIL. THE REPS HAVE STATED THAT I MUST RETURN THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE V53 RECALL WAS PERFORMED BUT THAT DEALERSHIP HAS GONE OUT OF BUSINESS AND I AM LEFT WITHOUT A REMEDY. I AM ALSO CONCERNED THAT CHRYSLER IS WELL AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM PERSISTING EVEN AFTER THE RECALL AND HAS NOT REMEDIED THE SITUATION. I AM TERRIFIED THAT A VERY BAD ACCIDENT WILL OCCUR DUE TO THIS PROBLEM THAT CHRYSLER CONTINUES TO IGNORE.

NUMBER OF INCIDENTS PERTAINING TO STOP AND START SYSTEM. MY WIFE WAS DRIVING OUR KIDS TO THE STORE WHEN COMING TO A STOP (STATIONARY) THE START AND STOP SYSTEM CUT OFF DEAD STOPPING (STATIONARY) US RESULTING IN ALMOST GETTING INTO AN ACCIDENT. SECOND TIME WE WERE COMING HOME AND STOPPED (MOTION TO STATIONERY) AS NORMAL AND THE SYSTEM JERKED AND STOPPED WOULD NOT RE START, TURNING THE VAN ON AND OFF VAN STARTED AGAIN AND THE CAR BEHIND US WAS TRAVELING REGULAR SPEED LUCKILY SWERVED AND MISSED UP AND THIS HAPPENED A FEW MORE TIME DURING THE PERIOD FROM OWING THIS VEHICLE TILL NOW. (LESS THAN A YEAR) TOTAL OF 6 OR MORE TIMES ALL THE EVENTS THAT HAVE HAPPENED THE VAN WAS IN MOTION COMING TO A STOP THEN STATIONARY AT A STOPLIGHT.
THE BACK UP CAMERA ONLY WORKS INTERMITTENTLY. SOMETIMES THE SCREENS FLICKERS AS IF IT IS SHORTENING OUT. OTHER TIMES THE SCREEN FREEZES, DISPLAYING THE INITIAL SCENE BEHIND THE VEHICLE FOR THE DURATION OF THE VEHICLE BEING IN REVERSE. SOMETIMES THE SCREEN IS BLANK WITH ONLY THE GUIDING LINES VISIBLE AND OTHER TIMES IT IS COMPLETELY BLANK WITH A STATEMENT AT THE TOP STATING THE BACK UP CAMERA IS UNAVAILABLE. THIS IS A MAJOR CONCERN FOR US DUE TO HAVING SMALL CHILDREN, GOING TO THE SCHOOL, PLAYGROUND, ETC. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY COULD REPLACE THE CAMERA FOR $400 BUT THE ISSUE SEEMS TO BE A SHORT IN THE WIRING SOMEWHERE. AS THE CAMERA SOMETIMES WORKS. ONE OF THE PICTURES ATTACHED SHOW THE CAMERA FROZEN WITH A WHITE VEHICLE ON THE BACK UP SCREEN. THE WHITE VEHICLE THAT IS DISPLAYED IS ACTUALLY IN FRONT OF THE VAN AT THE TIME OF THE PICTURE. THIS IS A SCREEN SHOT FROM A VIDEO.

DRIVING ON MAJOR HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH, CAR SUDDENLY LOST POWER WITH NO WARNING OTHER THAN A MESSAGE ON DASH 'PARKING BRAKE MAY TEMPORARILY BE UNAVAILABLE', CAR DID NOT SHUT OFF BUT GAS PEDAL UNRESPONSIVE. PULLED OVER, TURNED OFF CAR, RESTARTED, PUT IN DRIVE, CAR DID NOT MOVE. NEW MESSAGE: SERVICE TRANS, PRESS BRAKE WHEN STOPPED, KEY OFF ENGINE TO ENGAGE PARK. PREVIOUS TWO DAYS, HAD TROUBLE ,TOOK 4 TRY'S TO START CAR FROM KEY FOB. CAR HAS 30391 MILES, I HAVE OWNED IT 2 MONTHS. HAD TO BE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP.

MY VAN ON MULTIPLE OCCASSION HAS STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF CITY INTERSECTIONS. WHILE DRIVING MY CAR WILL HAVE AN ELECTRICAL MELTDOWN. ALL DIFFERENT WARNING MESSAGES WILL APPEAR ON DASH, WARNING DINGS WILL GO OFF, MY WIPERS WILL GO ON WITHOUT ME TURNING THEM ON, WHEN I PUSH THE GAS IT WILL NOT DRIVE. ON ONE OCCASION THE CAR ACCELERATED WITHOUT PRESSING THE GAS OR IF THE GAS WAS PRESSED IT WOULD ACCELERATE MORE THAN THE PEDAL WAS BEING PRESSED. ALL MY BUTTONS ON MY DASH INCLUDING A/C, AUTO START, BACK UP CAMERA/SENSORS WILL NOT RESPOND. ITS AS THOUGH MY CAR JUST DIES. THIS OCCURRENCE HAS NO COMMON SCENARIO THAT BRINGS ON THE MALFUNCTION. I 'VE HAD TIMES WHEN IT MALFUNCTIONED WEEKS APART AND THIS LAST OCCURRENCE IT WAS A YEAR IN BETWEEN OCCURRENCES. I WAS TOLD ON A CHRYSLER FORUM TO CHECK MY PCM. MY BATTERIES HAVE BEEN TESTED AND PASSED. I CURRENTLY DO NOT HAVE MY AUX BATTERY INSTALLED AS I DO NOT WANT/LIKE MY AUTOSTART FEATURE. THIS ACCIDENT OCCURRED ALL 5 TIMES WITH MY AUX BATTERY INSTALLED. MY DEALERSHIP SAID "TOO MANY ELECTRICAL PARTS TO CHECK" AND "WE CANT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM/GET ERROR CODE TO DIAGNOSE SO TAKE THE VAN BACK TILL IT HAPPENS AGAIN AND CALL US WHILE ITS HAPPENING AND DRIVE IT IN". FIRST ITS UNSAFE AND UNPREDICTABLE. I HAVE TRIED GETTING THIS FIXED AND THEY CAN'T EVEN/WONT FIX IT OR BUY IT BACK. NO LEMON LAW AS I AM SECOND OWNER, NOT PURCHASED NEW AND THE PROBLEMS STARTED HAPPENING AT 34000 MILES RIGHT BEFORE WARRANTY EXPIRED. THIS VEHICLE IS UNSAFE AND CHRYSLER WON'T FIX IT/DON'T KNOW HOW. NO REMEDY AFTER 2 YEARS AND 6/7 SHOP VISITS. I HAVE OPENED A CASE WITH FCA TWICE AND THEY THREATENED ME TO PICK UP VEHICLE OR THEY WOULD CHARGE ME FOR THE RENTAL I HAD. OTHERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS. VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW IN MARCH 2019 OFF THE SHOWROOM FLOOR FROM A DEALER IN MORTON, IL. IT HAD RADIO PROBLEMS FROM THE BEGINNING AND WAS NOTED ON MY FIRST SERVICE VISIT 6/4/19. THE RADIO WOULD FREEZE ON THE LOADING SCREEN AND NEVER OPERATE. I WAS TOLD TO WAIT FOR SOFTWARE UPDATES REGARDLESS OF THE AMOUNT OF PICTURES AND VIDEOS I SHOWED THE TEAM MEMBERS OF WHAT WAS GOING ON WITH THE RADIO FREEZING AND REBOOTING, NOT TO MENTION THE WI-FI ISSUES. FAST FORWARD TO JULY OF THIS YEAR AND THE WHOLE RADIO AND ASSOCIATED SAFETY FEATURES WENT OUT. I WAS DRIVING 1,000 MILES FROM MY NEW HOUSE IN NC BACK TO IL FOR A VISIT AND 90 MINUTES INTO THE DRIVE THE RADIO AND CLIMATE CONTROLS ALL WENT OUT. I WAS THEN DRIVING IN THE RAIN, IN THE MOUNTAINS, WITHOUT A WAY TO DEFOG MY WINDSHIELD. I'M VERY FAMILIAR WILL PULLING THE FUSE TO RESET THE RADIO (AS NOTED IN OTHER SERVICE VISITS), BUT EVEN THAT DIDN'T FIX IT THIS TIME. FOR MUCH OF THE DRIVE I HAD HEAT INSTEAD OF AC IN THE DRIVER'S AREA. CAMERAS WERE NOT FUNCTIONAL DURING THIS TIME AND THE LANE ASSIST AND CROSS TRAFFIC ALERT WAS INTERMITTENT. I ARRIVED TO CENTRAL IL LATE AT NIGHT ON THURSDAY, JULY 23RD, NOW 600 MILES OUTSIDE THE 36K WARRANTY. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN TO PULL CODES ON FRIDAY, AS INSTRUCTED. I WAS TOLD NO ONE COULD HELP ME AT THAT POINT AND TO JUST COME FOR MY OIL CHANGE ON THE 29TH. ON THE 29TH, MY COMMENT ON THE RADIO WASN'T EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE BY THE SERVICE REP AND THERE ARE NO NOTES ON THE SERVICE RECEIPT ABOUT IT. ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 28TH, THE RADIO STARTED REBOOTING EVERY 3 TO 4 MINUTES. I HAVE NO USE OF SAFETY FEATURES OR CAMERAS. THE BATTERY THEN DIED FROM REBOOTING THE COMPUTERS REGARDLESS OF OPERATION. BOTH SLIDING DOORS WERE DISABLED. THE BACK HATCH DOESN'T OPEN AT ALL. UCONNECT SAFETY LOCATION FEATURES WERE NOT WORKING.

BATTERY FAILURE OF BOTH BATTERIES WITH ANY ADVANCED WARNING VIA ICON IN THE DASHBOARD. I WAS ON AN EXIT RAMP OFF A BUST PARKWAY WITH HUSBAND, DAUGHTER, AND 2 GRANDDAUGHTERS IN THE CAR. MY HUSBAND AND I ARE SENIORS. DEAD CAR. HAZARDS DIDN'T EVEN WORK. KIDS CLIMBED OVER THE SEATS TO GET OUT THE FRONT DOOR. SLIDING DOORS DIDN'T WORK. SCARY OCCURRENCE. COULD HAVE BEEN FAR WORSE IF I WAS GOING 60MPH ON THE PARKWAY. CAR WAS ULTIMATELY TOWED TO THE DEALER. THEY TOLD ME I NEEDE TO GET NEW BATTERIES EVERY 2 TO TWO AND A HALF YEARS. THAT'S A SHORT LIFE FOR A BATTERY. CHRYSLER MUST USE JUNKY BATTERIES.
Mileage: 23,517
SINCE I LEASED THE VEHICLE, THE SCREEN OF THE RADIO DON'T WORK PROPERLY, THE AUTOMATIC DOORS SOMETIMES DON'T WORK, THE AUTOMATIC DOORS LOCK DON'T WORK PROPERLY EITHER AND THE TRANSMISSION DO A HARSH KICK. I HAVE BEEN REPORTING TO CHRYSLER THE CONDITIONS AND MALFUNCTIONS OF THE VEHICLE AND THEY HAVE NEVER FIXED, ALWAYS SAYS THAT EVERYTHING IS OK. I HAVE TO DRIVE AND PAY A LEMON CAR WITH NO REMEDY. EVERY TIME THAT I DRIVE MY CAR ON THE HIGHWAY, THE TRANSMISSION HAVE ISSUES, AND ALSO WHEN I DRIVE MY CAR AND I NEED TO USE THE CAMERA TO SEE THE BACK OF THE STREET, THE SCREEN DOESN'T WORK.

THIS IS A BRAUNABILTY HANDICAPPED CONVERSION AND IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT THE VEHICLE STOP AND START AS NEEDED. IT CANNOT STOP AND NOT START IN TRAFFIC SITUATIONS. IT ALSO HAS A SLIDING DOOR PROBLEM THAT HAS FAILED AND STRANDED THE HANDICAPPED PERSON. THIRD SITUATION IS THE BRAKES, THE BRAKES FAILED, HOWEVER THE COMPUTER ON THE VEHICLE INDICATED NO PROBLEM. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL INSTANCES OF MY CAR ACCELERATING FORWARD WHILE DRIVING THROUGH CITY TRAFFIC. IT ALMOST FEELS LIKE THE VEHICLE IS NOT PROPERLY CHANGING GEARS OR THE START STOP FEATURE IS MAKING THE VEHICLE STOP AND THEN START BY JUMPING FORWARD. IT IS A TERRIFYING FEELING WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE YOU DO NOT HAVE CONTROL OF THE CAR FOR A HALF SECOND WHEN IT DOES THIS. UNFORTUNATELY IT IS AN INTERMITTENT ISSUE AND I CANNOT REPLICATE IT ON COMMAND.

THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AND CHRYSLER HAS NOT FIXED THE ISSUE.

FIRST, THANKS FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY TO BRING UP MY CONCERNS REGARDING MY VEHICLE: I HAD THE FOLLOWING ISSUES WITH MY 2018 VEHICLE: 1. ON 20 FEB 20, VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WHEN THE CHARGING SYSTEM LIGHT CAME UP REGARDING AN ISSUE WITH THE ELECTRICAL CHARGING SYSTEM. THE VEHICLE ALMOST TURNED OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET. NOW THE OFF/ ON START IS NOT WORKING. 2. 9 MAY 19; VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY; ANOTHER RECALL REGARDING THE BATTERY GROUND THAT HAVE BEEN BUILT WITH A SEALER THAT IS USED DURING THE WIRE HARNESS MANUFACTURING PROCESS MAY ACCUMULATE ON THE WIRE HARNESS TAB WHICH MAY CAUSE A LOSS OF CLAMP LOAD IN THE BATTERY GROUND JOINT OVER TIME. 3. 23 MAY 18; FEW DAYS AFTER PURCHASED, THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, THE RECALL WAS ABOUT FAULT HANDLING STRATEGY OF THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE OR PCM SOFTWARE IN THE VEHICLE. I AM REALLY CONCERN BECAUSE THIS IS A NEW VEHICLE FROM 2018 AND IS THE VEHICLE UTILIZED FOR MY FAMILY ON A DAILY BASIS AND IN LESS THAN 2 YEARS AND IT HAS 2 RECALLS AND ONE MALFUNCTION. I AM REALLY WORRY ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE OF MY CHRYSLER PACIFICA, AND I AM REALLY CONCERN THAT ONE OF THIS DAYS THE VEHICLE LEFT MY FAMILY ON THE ROAD.
SEVERAL TIMES, WHILE DRIVING 20-30MPH AS WELL AS WHEN STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT OR A STOP SIGN, THE CAR HAS LOST POWER STEERING (STEERING WHEEL LOCKS, BRAKE SEEMS TO LOCK IN PLACE), UNABLE TO ACCELERATE OR DECELERATE, DASHBOARD FLASHES SOME MESSAGE ALONG THE LINES OF "STOP/START REQUIRED" OR "SHIFT TO P THEN DESIRED GEAR", BUT EVEN WHEN ATTEMPTING TO SHUT OFF THE CAR AND RESTART, SOMETIMES THIS DOES NOT EVEN WORK. AT TIMES IT HAS TAKEN 2-3 MINUTES TO EVEN GET THE CAR TO SHUT OFF COMPLETELY IN ORDER TO TRY TO TURN IT BACK ON (AS IF THE CAR IS COMPLETELY FROZEN). THIS HAS HAPPENED ON SIDE STREETS, AS WELL AS AT A STOP SIGN AND A RED LIGHT ON A BUSY ROAD, WHICH LEFT ME BLOCKING TRAFFIC FOR SEVERAL MINUTES, UNABLE TO OPERATE MY VEHICLE. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 5-6 TIMES IN THE LAST YEAR, MOST RECENTLY TWICE IN THE LAST WEEK.

MY VAN'S RADIO WILL RANDOMLY PLAY A HIGH-PITCHED TONE AND WILL NOT STOP UNTIL THE CAR IS TURNED OFF. IT IS VERY DISTRACTING WHILE DRIVING AND HAS HAPPENED RANDOMLY OVER A DOZEN TIMES. NOTHING SEEMS TO TURN IT OFF. I TOOK A VIDEO AND SHARED IT WITH THE DEALER BUT CHRYSLER WILL NOT REPAIR/REPLACE THE RADIO. UNFORTUNATELY, THE RADIO CONTROLS ALMOST EVERYTHING IN THE CAR.

THE VAN STALLS AT ALL DIFFERENT SPEEDS. LOSING ALL CONTROL AD HAVING TO COAST OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY BECAUSE THE CAR HAS COMPLETELY LOST POWER. WHEN I AM ACCELERATING, THE VEHICLE IS JERKING AROUND 10-20 MPH, ALMOST LIKE A VIOLENT JOLT. (AT TIMES SEEMS LIKE SOMEONE IS REAR ENDING US) THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THAT EVERYTHING IS FUNCTIONING AS IT SHOULD BE. THIS MAKES ME EXTREMELY CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY AND MY KIDS. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES. ALSO THE SLIDING DOORS OPEN AND CLOSE ON THEIR OWN. MY 6YO WAS NEARLY CAUGHT IN ONE AS IT CLOSED. I HAVE VIDEO OF THE CAR STALLED IN A PARKING LOT AS WELL.

I HAVE JUST BOUGHT A CHRYSLER PACIFICA 2018 AND IM VERY UPSET WITH THE PURCHASE. THE SLIDING BACK DOORS OPEN AGAIN WHEN THEY ARE ABOUT TO CLOSE. I HAVE TO TRY SEVERAL TIMES BY PRESSING THE BUTTON ON THE DOOR UNTIL IT CLOSES. EACH TIME I HAVE TO DO IT ABOUT SIX TIMES AND IT'S BOTH DOORS. IT IS ANNOYING AND SHOULD NOT HAPPEN BECAUSE IT CAN BECOME A DANGER ON THE ROAD BECAUSE THEY CAN OPEN THEMSELVES WHILE DRIVING

THE UNPREDICTABLE NATURE OF INTERMITTENT ELECTRONIC START/STOP OPERATION CREATES UNCERTAINTY FOR THE DRIVER, AND DISTRACTS ATTENTION CONDUCIVE TO CAUSING A CRASH. DOCUMENTATION IMPLIES THAT OPERATION FOR A FEW MILES MAY BE NECESSARY TO RE-CHARGE SUFFICIENTLY FOR ESS. HOWEVER, OVER TIME ( 6-9 MONTHS ACCORDING TO MY DETAILED MAINTENANCE LOG), THE ALTERNATOR'S CAPACITY TO RE-CHARGE LAGS SUCH THAT ESS CEASES TO FUNCTION ALTOGETHER. 3.WHEN OPERATING PROPERLY, THERE IS A SLIGHT PAUSE BETWEEN TAKING ONE'S FOOT OFF THE BRAKE AND ENGINE RESTART. THIS PAUSE IS MILDLY ANNOYING, BUT THE DRIVER CAN BECOME ACCUSTOMED TO IT, IF THE OPERATION IS CONTINUOUSLY RELIABLE. WHEN IT IS NOT RELIABLE, THE DRIVER TENDS TO PAUSE EVEN WHEN THE ENGINE HAS NOT STOPPED. THE DRIVER CAN THEN BE EMBARRASSED, AND 'JACK-RABBIT' UNNECESSARILY. ALTERNATIVELY, IF THE ESS HAS UNEXPECTEDLY RESUMED FUNCTIONALITY, THE DRIVER MAY ACCELERATE PREMATURELY WHICH CAUSES A SIGNIFICANT JERK ONCE THE ESS KICKS IN. EVENTUALLY, THE OPERATOR WILL BE DRIVING ERRATICALLY, CONSTANTLY DISTRACTED BY THE UNCERTAINTY. NEITHER DEALERSHIPS, NOR MECHANICS HAVE OFFERED A LONG-TERM SOLUTION. THUS FAR THEY ARE ONLY REPLACING OR RE-CHARGING THE BATTERIES. 5.I HAVE PROGRESSED THROUGH THREE DISCHARGE AND REPLACE/RECHARGE CYCLES IN A NEW VEHICLE IN JUST 17 MONTHS AND 15,000 MILES. I WAS ABLE TO EXTRACT FROM MY DEALERSHIP'S GENERAL MANAGER THAT THE ENTIRE INVENTORY OF BATTERIES ON WHICH THEY ARE REQUIRED TO DEPEND IS INFERIOR; AND SAID CHRYSLER MIGHT BE 'GOING BACK TO INTERSTATE BATTERIES'. FOR ME, THIS ERRATIC OPERATION HAS BECOME A SAFETY ISSUE. I AM INTERESTED TO KNOW NHSTA'S POSITION.

MY CAR IS 3-4 MONTHS OLD. AROUND 7K IN MILES ON IT. THIS AFTERNOON CAR DID NOT STARTED, START BUTTON WAS SHOWING AS RUN CREATED A KIND OF CHAOS IN TERMS SEEMS THE LIKE CAR IS READY TO RUN SHOWING ALL RUN SIGNALS BUT WAS NOT RUNNING, HAPPENED IN A PARKING LOT SO I WAS CONFUSED WHAT STATE SHOULD I LEAVE THE CAR IN AS NOT ABLE ABLE TO SHUT DOWN THE CAR & DONT KNOW WHETHER IT WILL START RUNNING BY HIMSELF, SWITCHED ON THE PARKING BREAKS JUST TO MAKE SURE IT DOES JUST START RUNNING & RUINS SOMEONES CAR, IT WAS KIND OF SCARY. MORE SCARY THINGS HAPPENED WHEN THE TOWING TRUCK GUYS SHOWED UP TO DRIVE THE CAR TO DEALER. HE WAS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHERE IS THE BUTTON TO PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL, CALLED DEALERSHIP NO ONE KNEW, LOOKED AT A VIDEO WHERE IT SHOWED THERE IS A SMALL BOX UNDER STEERING WHICH HAS A RIBBON TO PULL TO MOVE THE CAR TO NEUTRAL MODE. WHEN THE TOWING DRIVER OPENED THAT SPACE THERE WAS NO RIBBON. THESE ARE PART OF SAFETY ISSUES WITH THE CAR, TIS TIME IT HAPPENED IN A PARKING LOT IF IT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED ON THE LIVE ROAD THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN DISASTROUS.

THE DASH BOARD GIVES VARIOUS REASONS WHY IT CAN'T WORK BUT NONE OF THESE CONDITIONS OR SITUATIONS BUT NONE SEEM RELATED TO ACTUAL, CURRENT OPERATION OF THE CAR: ENGINE IS NOT WARMED UP OR THE STEERING WHEEL TURNED TO SHARPLY. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE WITH 60 MILES ON THE ODOMETER IN AUGUST 2018.
Mileage: 60
THE VEHICLE HAS 9700 MILES ON THE OD. AS IT WAS SLOWING FOR A STOP AS IT WAS STILL IN MOTION THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON AND THE ENGINE SHUT OFF FORCING THE VEHICLE TO ABRUPTLY STOP. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE PLACED INTO PARK AND TURNED BACK ON TO CONTINUE.
Mileage: 9,700
ELECTRICAL AND SENSOR ISSUES. WHEN MY 2018 PACIFICA IS STARTED IN THE MORNING I RECEIVE A FCW (FRONT CRASH WARNING) AFTER DRIVING APPROXIMATELY ONE HALF MILE AND STOPPING AT A STOP LIGHT NEAR MY HOUSE. I HAVE THE GAS SAVER ON AND MY VAN WILL USUALLY SHUT OFF. WHEN I STOP AT THE LIGHT, THE CONSOLE WILL FLASH FCW WHEN NO OBJECTS ARE IN FRONT OR NEAR ME AS WELL AS TWO OTHER CENSORS FLASHING. THE VAN COMPLETELY SHUTS DOWN AND THEN FLASHES "START STOP REQUIRED". I THEN HAVE TO PLACE THE VEHICLE IN PARK, TURN IT OFF, RESTART IT, THEN SHIFT BACK TO DRIVE ALL WHILE IN AT AN INTERSECTION. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 12 TIMES AND CREATES A RISK OF BEING REAR-ENDED. SINCE WE PURCHASED THE VAN IN AUGUST 2018, WE HAVE HAD: THE UCONNECT CENTER REPLACED ON SEPTEMBER 7 2018, THE RADIO IMPROPERLY ACTIVATED OR TURNED OFF INCORRECTLY COMPLETELY DRAINING THE BATTERY REQUIRING TOW AND SERVICE ON APRIL 12 2019, AND THE FCW WAS SUPPOSEDLY REPAIRED ON MAY 21 2019. ALTHOUGH IT WAS "FIXED" THE FCW ALERT HAS OCCURRED 3 TIMES SINCE IT WAS RETURNED LESS THAN 3 WEEKS PRIOR.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 19V348000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AND 18V395000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, EQUIPMENT). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIRS. JACKSONVILLE CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM ARLINGTON (9600 ATLANTIC BLVD, JACKSONVILLE, FL 32225, (877) 677-5782) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDIES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
DRIVER'S SIDE SLIDING DOOR REPEATEDLY REOPENS AND FAILS TO CLOSE WHILE THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY. THIS FAILURE OCCURS INTERMITTENTLY AND SEEMS TO COINCIDE WITH A CLICKING NOISE THAT COMES FROM UNDER THE DASH AT HIGHWAY SPEED.

ON 05-11-2019 MY 2018 (PURCHASED NOV. 2018) CHRYSLER PACIFICA TOURING L PLUS VAN WAS STATIONARY IN MY DRIVEWAY (7,000 MILES). VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. VEHICLE BEGAN GIVING ERRATIC DASH DISPLAYS, FOR EXAMPLE IT ADVISED THAT THE CAR WAS NOT IN PARK. IT ADVISED THAT THE GEAR SHIFT NEED SERVICE. DESPITE NOT EVER TURNING ON, THE VEHICLE AS CLEARLY HAVING A COMPLETE ELECTRICAL MELTDOWN. THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ENGAGED. THEN NONE OF THE BUTTONS ON THE FOB, NOR IN THE CAR WERE RESPONDING. WITHIN A FEW MINUTES THE ENTIRE CAR DIED. NO ELECTRICAL RESPONSE. HAD IT TOWED TO DEALERSHIP TODAY. WAITING TO HEAR ON DIAGNOSIS.
Mileage: 7,000
WE BOUGHT THE CAR AS A CERTIFIED USED CAR FROM A DEALERSHIP IN FEBRUARY, 2019. THE CAR IS A 2018, AND HAD 22,000 MILES AT TIME OF PURCHASE. THE CAR FIRST STALLED IN LATE MARCH, 2019. IT STALLED WHILE AT A RED LIGHT, AND CARS HAD TO BE DIRECTED AROUND THE CAR. MY CHILD WAS IN THE CAR WITH ME AT THE TIME. AN ERROR MESSAGE APPEARED WITH SOMETHING REGARDING THE STABILITY CONTROL. SINCE THAT FIRST TIME, THE CAR HAS STALLED AT A LIGHT 2 MORE TIMES. WE ARE BRINGING THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER FOR SERVICE. WHEN WE CALLED TO LET THE DEALER KNOW THE ISSUE, THEY SAID THEY'VE NEVER HEARD OF THIS HAPPENING. I FIND THAT HARD TO BELIEVE WITH SO MANY SIMILAR COMPLAINTS. I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE THAT IS NOT BEING ADDRESSED.
Mileage: 25,000
VEHICLE STALLED MULTIPLE TIMES REQUIRING SHIFT TO PARK AND MANUAL RESTART. VEHICLE WAS AT IDLE IN LEFT TURN LANE OF MAJOR CITY ROAD WITH 4 OCCUPANTS. VEHICLE HAS STALLED AT LOW SPEED IN PARKING LOT IMMEDIATELY AFTER STATING TO MOVE FROM A STOP WITH 4 OCCUPANTS. *TR
Mileage: 28,000
TWICE NOW I HAVE BEEN DRIVING AND THE CAR HAS TURNED ITSELF OFF. I LOOK AT THE DASH AND IT GIVES AND ERROR ABOUT BEING IN PARK SENSE MODE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAY I MUST HAVE HAD A VOLTAGE SPIKE BUT THEY CAN NOT REPRODUCE THE ERROR SO THEY CANNOT FIX IT. ITS PRETTY SCARY LUCKILY NO ONE WAS BARRELING UP BEHIND ME WHEN IT HAPPENED.
Mileage: 9,000
DURING DRIVING THE VAN WILL SHUT OFF. THIS HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY BUT CONSISTENTLY 1-3 TIMES PER WEEK. MOST OFTEN THE VEHICLE WILL SHUT OFF WHILE AT A STOP. THIS HAPPENS WITH BOTH THE AUTO START/STOP FEATURE ON AND OFF. WHEN RELEASING THE BREAK TO RESUMING DRIVING, THE VEHICLE IS OFF AND WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH DISPLAY. "SERVICE STABILITRAC, ABS, ETC. IT THEN DISPLAYS THE IGNITION ICON THAT SAYS DEPRESS BRAKE AND START VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE MUST BE PLACED IN PARK, THEN RESTARTED. THIS SAME EVENT HAS HAPPENED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 50 MPH. NO POWER STEERING, BRAKE BOOSTER OR NOTHING. CHRYSLER IS AWARE OF THESE ISSUES IN THE 2018-19 VEHICLES AND WE HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THEM FOR 3 MONTHS, HOWEVER THEY HAVE NO RESOLUTION PROPOSAL AND FEEL IT OK TO KEEP THIS TYPE OF LIABILITY ON THE ROAD......NOT ACCEPTABLE.
Mileage: 8,786
VAN WILL STALL DURING LOW SPEED OR IDLE. STABILITY/TRACTION CONTROL WILL FLASH AND VAN WILL NEED TO BE RESTARTED. HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES IN INTERSECTIONS AND ONCE IN STOP AND GO HIGHWAY TRAFFIC.

MY 2018 CHRYSLER PACIFICA CAR STOPPED WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I HAD SLOWED DOWN TO MAKE A LEFT TURN AND IT SHUT ITSELF OFF. IT QUICKLY FLASHED A MESSAGE ABOUT STABILITY CONTROL AND THEN SHOWED STOP, START, RESTART REQUIRED. THE CAR WAS STILL IN DRIVE. WHEN I TRIED PRESSING THE BRAKE IT WAS VERY HARD AND WOULDN'T MOVE. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND TRIED SHUTTING IT OFF AND RESTARTING IT, BUT COULDN'T. I HAD A LINE OF CARS BEHIND ME, INCLUDING A SCHOOL BUS AND PUT MY HAZARDS ON. I'M NOT SURE HOW MANY TRIES IT TOOK, BUT I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO GET IT TO START AND DRIVE HOME. I HAVE SINCE DRIVEN THE CAR WITHOUT INCIDENT BUT I AM VERY NERVOUS THAT IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. IT SEEMS LIKE A HUGE SAFETY RISK.
Mileage: 12,100
WE HAVE A 2018 PACIFICA THAT WE BOUGHT NEW A YEAR AGO. OUR VAN CURRENTLY HAS 8,000 MILES ON IT. MY WIFE RECEIVED A WARNING ABOUT A BATTERY FAULT WHILE SHE WAS TAKING OUR KIDS TO SCHOOL. THE VAN THEN SHUT OFF IN MORNING RUSH HOUR WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING AT AROUND 40 MPH. THE VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER AND ABILITY TO SAFELY STEER AND BRAKE WITH THE ELECTRIC ASSIST. SHE WAS ABLE TO SLOWLY GET THE VAN TO A STOP ON A SIDE STREET. THE VAN IS AT THE DEALER NOW AND THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. I WAS TOLD THE BATTERY APPEARS TO BE TOTALLY FLAT, BUT IF IT WAS JUST A SIMPLE BATTERY REPLACEMENT, WE WOULD HAVE HAD OUR VAN BACK BY NOW.
Mileage: 8,000
PROBLEM OCCURS AT SLOW SPEEDS OR WHEN STOPPED. THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUTS OFF. THEN WE HAVE TO QUICKLY SWITCH INTO PARK, RESTART, THEN SWITCH INTO DRIVE. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 8 TIMES WHILE DRIVING. IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. CHRYSLER SAID TO TURN OF FRONT COLLISION WARNING COLLISION UNTIL THEY HAVE A SOLUTION. SINCE THAT TEMP FIX, THE CAR FAIL 2 MORE TIMES ON 3/6/19. ONCE WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN IT DIED BEFORE THE TURN WAS COMPLETED, AND ONCE MORE COMING OUT OF A PARKING LOT TURNING ONTO A MAIN ROAD. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND NEEDS TO BE RECTIFIED IMMEDIATELY BEFORE SOMEONE HAS A CRASH. THE CAR JUST SHUTS OFF. THE CAR IS ONLY A FEW MONTHS OLD AND IT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES.
Mileage: 5,500
VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP AND THEN SHUTDOWN SUDDENLY. VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESPOND TO INPUT AND CREATED A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND WE WERE STOPPED IN A DIVIDED MEDIAN WITHOUT POWER. DISPLAY SAYS "FCC SERVICE REQUIRED" AND THEN PROCEEDS TO SAY START/STOP REQUIRED AND CAUSED THE ENGINE TO DIE. REQUIRED PUTTING THE VEHICLE IN PARK, RESTARTING THE ENGINE, AND THEN PUTTING BACK INTO DRIVE.
Mileage: 5,800
THE ENGINE START/STOP FEATURE OF THIS VAN IS FAULTY AND CHRYSLER KNOWS IT. BECAUSE THEY DO NOT HAVE A FIX FOR THIS ISSUE THEY CANNOT PLACE A RECALL. THIS ISSUE IS NOT LIMITED TO MY PERSONAL VAN. OUR PARTICULAR VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 13,000 MILES AND HAS BEEN IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT 5 TIMES. 3 FOR THE SAME ISSUE. WE HAVE STALLED OUT IN INTERSECTIONS 4 TIMES. ONE TIME WE (WIFE AND CHILDREN) WERE ALMOST STRUCK BY A TRUCK. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. AGAIN CHRYSLER IS AWARE AND ONLY OFFERED AN EXTENDED SERVICE AGREEMENT.

IN THE FALL, THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILED LEAVING MY CAR COMPLETELY INOPERABLE. THIS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE WITH MY KIDS IN THE CAR. THANK GOODNESS WE WERE IN A SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD GOING AT A SLOW RATE OF SPEED.IT TOOK OVER A WEEK TO "FIX" THE PROBLEM AND WAS GIVE A WHOLE NEW "COMPUTER". ON SATURDAY 3-2 AT 10:30 PM, I WAS DRIVING WITH MY CHILDREN ON THE OHIO TURNPIKE GOING 70 MPH WHEN THEN POWER STEERING FAILED. I HAD TO PULL OFF THE ROAD. I DID NOT HAVE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE DUE TO LOSS OF STEERING AND HAD TO PULL THE WHEEL HARD TO THE RIGHT TO GET OFF THE ROAD. THANK GOODNESS, I WAS IN THE RIGHT LANE. IF I WERE IN THE LEFT LANE ON THE HIGHWAY, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN POTENTIALLY FATAL. BOTH OCCURRENCES COULD HAVE CAUSED SERIOUS INJURY OR HAVE BEEN FATAL. WE RESEARCHED THE ISSUES AND FOUND A NYTIMES ARTICLE ON THESE FAILURES. THIS CAR HAS PUT MY FAMILY'S SAFETY IN DANGER.
Mileage: 18,000
ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS THE VEHICLE HAS STALLED OUT WHILE WAITING FOR STOP LIGHTS AND JUST IN A STOPPED POSITION. IN ORDER TO RESTART THE VEHICLE IT HAD TO BE PLACED IN PARK. IT DOES START IMMEDIATELY HOWEVER IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN LEAVING US TO WONDER IF THIS WILL OCCUR DURING ACTUAL DRIVING.
Mileage: 4,385
THE ELECTRONIC AUTO START/STOP IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. WHEN AT A RED LIGHT THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF AND THE CAR DOES NOT START AGAIN WHEN THE GAS IS PUSHED. WE HAVE TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK THEN RESTART THE ENGINE TO PROCEED. CHRYSLER TOLD US THIS MORNING THAT IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND ARE WAITING TO SEE IF THERE IS GOING TO BE A RECALL ON IT.
Mileage: 5,000
THIS COMPLAINT IS JUST ONE OF MANY I'VE HAD. MOST RECENTLY, I'VE BEEN STALLED WHILE WAITING AT A RED LIGHT (THANKFULLY) ON A CITY STREET. I HAD AN ERROR MESSAGE COME ON SHORTLY FOLLOWED BY A PROMPT TELLING ME THAT START/STOP WAS REQUIRED. SO I HAD TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK, RESTART AND THEN CAR DROVE. THIS HAPPENED TWICE IN ONE DAY AND DEALER COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. LEFT IT HAS PROTOCOL PASSED ALL RECOMMENDED CHECKPOINTS AND THAT AN ENGINEER HAS TO DETERMINE FIX.
Mileage: 9,300
MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN FOR SERVICE AT LEAST 4 TIMES FOR THE STALLING ISSUE. I AM EITHER DRIVING AT 24MPH OR LESS AND IT JUST SHUTS OFF. OFF. SOMETIMES IM SITTING AT A LIGHT AND IT SHUTS OFF. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN REAR-ENDED 3 TIMES. POLICE HAVE HAD TO DIRECT TRAFFIC AROUD ME TWICE. MY CHILDREN ARE SCARED TO RIDE IN IT. THE MEDIA DOES NOT ALWAYS WORK. A USB PLUG DOESNT WORK THE ONE USED FOR CAR PLAY. THE REAR SENSORS DO NOT ALWAYS WORK. THIS VAN IS CURRENTLY SITTING IN MY GARAGE. USELESS TO ME. I AM NOT PUTTING MY KIDS AT RISK ANY LONGER.

STOP AND START SYSTEM FAILS WITH AN ERROR SAYING THAT THE FEATURE IS UNAVAILABLE BECAUSE THE BATTERY IS BEING CHARGED. THE BATTERY IS NOT FULLY CHARGED EVER.
Mileage: 13,000
THIS HAPPENED ON TWO OCCASIONS. I CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP, AND THE AUTO START STOP SHUT THE ENGINE OFF LIKE IT'S SUPPOSED TO. HOWEVER, WHEN THIS HAPPENED A BUNCH OF WARNINGS CAME ACROSS MY DASH, SAYING CERTAIN SAFETY FEATURES WERE DISABLED AND THE CAR WOULDN'T RESPOND TO THE GAS PEDAL. I HAD TO PUT THE CAR INTO PARK AND RESTART MY CAR. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. IT HAPPENED AGAIN AFTER HAVING IT BACK FOR THREE DAYS, AND THEY SAID THERE WAS AN 'UPDATE' FOR IT. HOWEVER WHEN I PICKED UP MY CAR THEY DIDN'T GIVE ME ANY PAPERWORK TO SIGN.
Mileage: 13,000
ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS THE NAVIGATION SCREEN WOULD GO BLACK OR FREEZE UP. ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS THE UCONNECT THEATER WOULD NOT WORK. EVERYTIME WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS FINE AND DIDN'T INVESTIGATE THE ISSUE. RECENTLY, WE WENT TO THE STORE MADE SEVERAL STOPS AT DIFFERENT STORES ON OUR LAST STOP THE VAN WOULD NOT RECOGNIZE THE KEYS. WE COULDN'T LOCK OR UNLOCK THE VAN. I HAD TO PULL OUT THE EMERGENCY KEY TO GET INTO THE VAN. ONCE INSIDE THE VAN DIDN'T RECOGNIZE THE KEYS. I ENDED UP HAVING TO GOOGLE THE ISSUE FOR A WORK AROUND TO GET HOME. THE ENTIRE RIDE THERE WAS A DISPLAY STATING THAT THE KEY WAS NOT IN THE VEHICLE. WE MADE ON MORE STOP AND AN LEFT THE VAN RUNNING. TEN MINUTES LATER IT RECOGNIZED THE KEY AND A UCONNECT STARTING WORKING AGAIN. THE VAN IS A 2018 AND LESS THAN A YEAR OLD. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR A NEW VEHICLE.
Mileage: 20,000
THE CAR WAS BOUGHT BRAND NEW IN OCTOBER OF 2018. TOWARDS THE END OF DECEMBER, THE CAR STOPPED WORKING. LUCKILY, WE WERE AT HOME WHEN THIS HAPPENED, BUT BASICALLY, THE CAR WOULD NOT START DESPITE VARIOUS ATTEMPTS. WE BROUGHT IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP AND IT HAS SINCE BEEN "WORKED ON" FOR THE PAST MONTH, BUT STILL TO GET A DIAGNOSIS....*BF.. *TR

ON SUNDAY JANUARY 13TH WHILE GETTING OFF HIGHWAY LOST POWER STEERING WHILE TAKING EXIT. DUE TO LACK OF POWER STEERING VAN WENT OFF THE ROAD UP AN EMBANKMENT AND DAMAGED VEHICLE. I CALLED CHRYSLER ON 1/14/2019 AND REPORTED ISSUE. CLAIM #57836097. I WAS TOLD THAT SOMEONE FROM INCIDENT REPORTING TEAM WOULD BE CONTACTING ME WITHIN 4-5 DAYS. I HAVE SINCE CALLED THEM AGAIN ON 1/22/2019 AND AGAIN TODAY 1/28/2019. I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO DRIVE VEHICLE BECAUSE I AM A 100% DISABLED VETERAN AND IN A POWERCHAIR. THE VAN IS CUSTOMIZED FOR MY POWERCHAIR AND MY ONLY MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION. THE POWER STEERING KEEPS GOING OUT INTERMITTENTLY AND NOW OTHER ELECTRICAL ISSUES ARE OCCURING NOW AS WELL. THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW COMES DOWN ON ITS OWN, TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT ON DASH GOES ON AND OFF, STABILITY WARNING FLASHES ON DASH AND OF COURSE POWER STEERING LIGHT COMES ON AND SAYS SERVICE. PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT ON THE HIGHWAY OFF RAMP THE STEERING WENT OUT FOR A FEW SECONDS. I BROUGHT IT TO BONNEVILLE DEALER IN MANCHESTER NH AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS JUST A FLUKE. OBVIOUSLY IT WAS NOT A FLUKE AND MY VAN IS NOW DAMAGED. DRIVERS SIDE SLIDING DOOR DOES NOT CLOSE RIGHT AND IS BENT UPWARDS AND NOT SURE WHAT ELSE MAY BE DAMAGED. WAITING ON CHRYSLER FOR NEXT STEP.

WHILE STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN THE VEHICLE'S AUTO STOP/START FUNCTION DISABLED THE ENGINE AS NORMAL. WHEN I LIFTED MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE TO ENGAGE ENGINE THE CAR STALLED AND "SERVICE AUTO START/STOP" DISPLAYED ON SCREEN. THEN THE SCREEN INDICATED TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK. AFTER I PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND OPERATED NORMALLY. VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW AND HAS 1,200 MILES ON IT. I WILL BE TAKING THE VEHICLE TO MY DEALER FOR ASSESSMENT.
Mileage: 1,200
THE CAR HAS LOST POWER ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. WHEN STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT/STOP SIGN CAR SHUTS OFF COMPLETELY AND LOSES POWER. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALER LAST WEEK, THEY COMPLETED AN UPDATE- HOWEVER JUST TODAY THE CAR LOST POWER ON A MAIN ROAD WHICH HAPPENS TO BE RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE DEALER. I PULLED IN COMPLETELY SHAKEN AS I HAD MY DAUGHTER IN THE CAR AND CARS WERE COMING FROM BEHIND NOT REALIZING I AM STALLED IN THE ROAD. I HAVE LEFT THE CAR AT THE DEALER. IT IS SO DANGEROUS AND SCARY AS I BOUGHT THIS CAR AS A FAMILY CAR AND I CAN'T FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING IT.
Mileage: 10,600
WHILE DRIVING - SLOWING TO A STOP FOR A STOPLIGHT, MY CAR'S COMPUTER SCREENS STARTED FLASHING VARIOUS WARNINGS TO RESTART THE ENGINE. AT THIS POINT, THE CAR WAS NOT RESPONSIVE TO THE GAS PEDAL / WOULD NOT MOVE AND THE POWER STEERING WAS ALSO NOT FUNCTIONAL. I HAD TO PUT ON MY HAZARDS, PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND TURN OFF AND TURN BACK ON THE ENGINE.
Mileage: 30,000
WHILE STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT IN OUR TOWN THE VAN SHUT OFF AND THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM STARTING SENDING ME MESSAGES ON THE DASHBOARD THAT THE LANE SENSE WAS NOT OPERATING. I HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO MOVE THE GEAR SELECTOR TO PARK BUT IT WAS LOCKED IN PLACE. THE IGNITION SAID IT WAS IN THE RUN POSITION WHICH INDICATES THE CAR SHOULD BE RUNNING BUT IT WAS NOT. THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS FIRM TOO, AS IT WOULD BE WHEN THE CAR IS OFF. FINALLY AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS I WAS ABLE TO MOVE THE GEAR KNOB TO PARK AND THEN RESTART THE CAR. I COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN REAR ENDED, THIS WAS VERY SCARY AND UNACCEPTABLE ON CHRYSLER'S PART.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER. IN ADDITION, THE POWER STEERING FAILED AND THE STEERING WHEEL WAS DIFFICULT TO TURN. ALSO, THE EMERGENCY FLASHERS WERE INOPERABLE, THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE INCREASED TO HIGH, AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ENGAGE INTO GEAR. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO LANDMARK CHRYSLER DODGE RAM OF ATLANTA (5745 PEACHTREE INDUSTRIAL BLVD, CHAMBLEE, GA 30341, (678) 825-3200) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT TWO BATTERIES FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT HAD CONCERNS ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT CALLED 911 FOR ASSISTANCE DURING THE FAILURE. WHILE APPROACHING A TRAFFIC LIGHT THE CAR CAME TO A STOP AND COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. I HAD TO TURN SHIFTER OF THE CAR FROM DRIVE TO PARK AND THEN RESTART THE CAR. THIS IS THE 4TH TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. SCARY TIME AS THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED I WAS MAKING A LEGAL K TURN AND THE CAR SHUT OFF AS I STOPPED THE CAR BEFORE PUTTING THE CAR IN REVERSE. I WAS T'D IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. THE FIRST TIME OCCURRED WAS 11/23/18 THEN AGAIN 12/18/018, AGAIN 12/21/18 AND TODAY 1/3/2018

WE PURCHASED OUR 2018 CHRYSLER PACIFICA IN EARLY OCTOBER 2018 AND HAVE SINCE PUT LESS THAN 3,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. TODAY, WHILE DRIVING ON A LEVEL RURAL ROAD NEAR OUR HOME, A COUPLE OF WARNING LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING OUT OF NOWHERE: ONE INDICATING THAT BLIND-SPOT MONITORING WAS DISABLED, AND ANOTHER RE: ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL. NOT LONG AFTER WE STARTED UP A HILL A HALF-MILE LATER, THE ACCELERATOR STOPPED RESPONDING. WE WERE SLOWING DOWN. THEN, THE CAR BASICALLY STALLED AND CAME TO A STOP. MORE WARNING LIGHTS AND SOUNDS CAME ON, INCLUDING A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, AND ONE INDICATING THAT WE NEEDED TO SERVICE THE TRANSMISSION. THEN ON THE DISPLAY ABOVE THE WHEEL, A MESSAGE SAID THAT WE NEEDED TO TURN OFF THE ENGINE TO ENGAGE THE PARKING BRAKE. WE CALLED 911 IN HOPES OF HAVING AN OFFICER HELP DIRECT TRAFFIC WHILE WE WAITED FOR A TOW, AS WE WERE STOPPED AROUND A CURVE AND AT A HIGH RISK OF GETTING REAR-ENDED. THE CAR WASN'T RESPONDING WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO TURN THE ENGINE OFF. I WASN'T ABLE TO SHIFT THE CAR INTO PARK, EITHER (THE LIGHT ABOVE EACH GEAR FLASHED WHEN I TRIED TO SHIFT AWAY FROM DRIVE). ALSO, THE HAZARD LIGHTS WOULDN'T TURN ON, AND NOR WOULD THE PARKING BRAKE (I HAD TO KEEP MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE TO PREVENT THE CAR FROM ROLLING BACKWARD DOWN THE HILL). AS WE WAITED FOR THE TOW TRUCK, THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH CONTINUED TO FLASH AND THE ALARMS CONTINUED ON. AT SOME POINT, I ONCE AGAIN TRIED TO TURN THE CAR OFF. IT WORKED. THEN, WHEN I TURNED THE CAR ON AGAIN, ONLY A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER ALSO HAD NO ISSUE REVERSING THE VAN UP ONTO THE BED OF HIS TRUCK.

WHEN COMPLETING A STOP AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS, THE VEHICLE START/STOP SYSTEM SHUTS OFF THE ENGINE AND WITHOUT WARNING IT HAS NOT RESTARTED AUTOMATICALLY LEAVING US EXPECTING TO TAKE OFF AND HAVING TO PUT THE VEHICLE BACK IN PARK WHILE IN TRAFFIC AND THEN RESTART THE ENGINE AND MOVE GEAR SELECTOR BACK TO THE DRIVE POSITION. I'VE NEARLY BEEN REAR-ENDED DUE TO THIS SEVERAL TIMES. I HAVE COUNTED 7 TIMES THIS MALFUNCTION HAS HAPPENED. WHEN CHECKING THE VEHICLE FOR ANY DTC'S THERE HAVE NEVER BEEN ANY.

MY 2018 CHRYSLER PACIFICA KEEPS STALLING WHILE DRIVING. I FOUND A RECALL FROM 2017 THAT MATCHES MY CAR EXACTLY! RECALL U01. DEALERSHIP AS WELL AS CHRYSLER, KEEP TELLING ME THAT MY VEHICLE YEAR IS NOT AFFECTED BUT MY CAR KEEPS STALLING AT INTERSECTIONS! I HAVE ALMOST BEEN HIT TWO TIMES WITH MY CHILD IN THE CAR. THEY HAVE HAD MY VEHICLE FOR MORE THAN 42 DAYS IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND SAY THEY CANNOT RECREATE THE PROBLEM IN ORDER TO FIX IT. I EVEN HAVE VIDEO TAPE DOCUMENTING WHAT HAPPENS. IF I STOP AT A LIGHT, OR AM DRIVING VERY SLOW MY VEHICLE SHUTS OFF! AN INDICATOR ON MY DASH STATES TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND RE-START IT! THIS IS NOT SAFE WHEN YOU HAVE PEOPLE BEHIND YOU READY TO GO AT A GREEN LIGHT AND YOU ARE STALLED! I REFUSE TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE ON THE ROAD AND JEOPARDIZE MY FAMILIES SAFETY. PURCHASED VAN NEW IN AUGUST FROM DULLES MOTORS IN LEESBURGH VA. AT 200 MILES, CAR STARTED IN MY DRIVEWAY, BUT THEN IMMEDIATELY STALLED. VAN TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. DEALER WAS ABLE TO START CAR WITH NO PROBLEM, SO I WAS ASKED TO COME GET IT. A FEW DAYS LATER, FCA ANNOUNCES RECALL U87 FOR PCM PROBLEM. DUE TO A DEFECTIVE VOLTAGE REGULATOR CHIP, THIS VAN, PLUS OTHER CARS IN CHRYSLER'S LINEUP, STALL AFTER STARTING, AND/OR STALL WHILE DRIVING. AS I WRITE THIS ON 9/28/2018, RECALL IS NOT LIVE YET. VAN CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE STALLING AFTER STARTING ON INITIAL STARTUP IN MORNING. A FEW DAYS AGO, CAR SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH IN TRAFFIC. I MADE MY WAY TO SHOULDER OF ROAD. I CAPTURED THE FOLLOWING ON MY CELL PHONE VIDEO: WARNING LIGHTS ON DASH BLINKING. FUEL GAUGE CYCLES FROM FROM EMPTY TO FULL. ODOMETER FLASHES "NO BUS." CAN'T RESTART CAR. I RELEASED HOOD LATCH TO LOOK UNDER HOOD AND CAR CLEARED ITSELF, AND I WAS ABLE TO RESTART IT. SAME PROBLEM APPEARED TWO MORE TIMES WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS. EACH TIME, RELEASING HOOD LATCH CLEARS PROBLEM. I SUSPECT THE LITTLE VOLTAGE SPIKE CREATED BY RELEASING LATCH SOMEHOW AFFECTS VOLTAGE REGULATOR IN THAT PCM IN A POSITIVE WAY. TAKING CAR TO DEALER AND REQUESTING NEW PCM, KNOWING IT IS A POSSIBLY DEFECTIVE ONE. CAN NOT WAIT FOR RECALL.

THE FIRST INCIDENT OCCURRED WHEN I WAS IN A PARKING LOT. I GOT INTO MY CAR AND WHEN I WENT TO PRESS THE BRAKE AND PUSH TO START, MY BRAKE WAS LOCKED AND MY COMPUTER STARTED FLASHING SERVICE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL, PARK BRAKE UNAVAILABLE, ENTER AUTO-THEFT CODE AND OTHER NUMEROUS ERROR MESSAGES. I HAD TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED TO THE CLOSEST SERVICE AND THEY DIDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. YESTERDAY I WAS IN TRAFFIC AT A STOP LIGHT AND MY CAR DINGED, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, AND MY CAR SAID TO PUT IT IN PARK AND RESTART (THIS HAPPENED TWICE AT THE SAME LIGHT) THEN THE ERROR MESSAGES STARTING FLASHING (SERVICE AIR BAG, SERVICE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL, BLIND SPOT ALERT UNAVAILABLE, ETC) TODAY WHEN I WENT TO START MY CAR THE ENGINE DID NOT COME ON AND THE SAME ERROR MESSAGES STARTING FLASHING AS WELL AS THE CHECK ENGINE. THIS BECAME AN ENTIRELY NEW CONCERN WHEN THIS STARTED HAPPENING WHILE I'M DRIVING. I HAVE TWO SMALL CHILDREN IN THE CAR, AND I'M PREGNANT. I JUST DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING AND THIS IS OUR MAIN VEHICLE, SO WE DON'T HAVE MUCH OF A CHOICE.

2 DAYS AFTER PURCHASING CAR, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I ASKED SERVICE FOLKS AT DEALERSHIP IF I CAN BRING IT IN. THEY SAID BRING IT IN THE NEXT DAY. LATER THAT DAY, MY WIFE DROVE TO STORE. SHE WAS IN FOR 15 MINUTES. WHEN SHE CAME BACK TO CAR IN PARKING LOT AND STARTED THE CAR THE MONITOR SAID SOMETHING ABOUT CAR BEING PUT IN "PARK" AND THEN HAD ELECTRIC FAILURE AFTER A STRANGE NOISE. WORRIED THAT POWER FAILURE COULD HAPPEN WHILE CAR IS IN MOTION. DEALER WOULD NOT REPLACE CAR UNLESS WE GAVE ALL 10S ON SURVEY, WHICH WE REFUSE TO DO. DEALERSHIP SERVICE SAID CAR HAD COMPLETE ELECTRIC FAILURE. WAS TOLD THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME THEY HAVE ENCOUNTERED THIS PROBLEM. SERVICE PERSON ALSO SAID THEY WERE AWARE OF DEFECTS IN PACIFICAS. I ASKED HOW COME THEY SOLD CARS WITH KNOWN DEFECTS DEALERSHIP STATED THEY HAVE LOTS OF CARS AND MANY HAVE DEFECTS.

THE CONTACT QUICKLY SNATCHED THE STEERING WHEEL OUT OF HIS SPOUSE'S HANDS AND GUIDED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A MINOR CRASH WITH A CURB IN A CONSTRUCTION ZONE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE TO THE UNDERSIDE OF THE BUMPER AND FOG LIGHTS. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND TOOK IT TO MCINERNEY'S WOODHAVEN CHRYSLER JEEP (LOCATED AT 23940 ALLEN RD, WOODHAVEN, MI 48183, (734) 362-3100). THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A LOOSE WIRE UNDER THE DASHBOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MECHANIC WAS ALSO UNABLE TO RETRIEVE A FAULT CODE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH AND MAKING A LEFT TURN, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PHILLIPS CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (LOCATED AT 3440 S PINE AVE, OCALA, FL 34471, (352) 732-7577) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE OR RETRIEVE A FAULT CODE. IT WAS A DOWN HILL "COAST" TO STOP ABOUT 300 YARDS SO NOT CLEAR IF VEHICLE WAS "COASTING" OR DRIVING AT IDLE SPEED. PUTTING INTO PARK, PUSHING ENGINE BUTTON TO STOP AND START SOLVED THE PROBLEM. TODAY, 8/26/2018 AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE WITH MY NEWBORN AND 2 YEAR OLD SON MY 2018 CHRYSLER PACIFICA DECIDED TO SHUT OFF THE ENTIRE AC UNIT AND STOP THE CAR UNEXPECTEDLY. WE WERE UNABLE TO RESTART THE AC AND ENDED UP HAVING TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOWS ONCE WE RESTARTED THE CAR. THIS IS EXTREMELY CONCERNING SINCE IT IS AUGUST IN ALABAMA AND ALSO PUTS MY ENTIRE FAMILY'S SAFETY AT RISK. I AM CURRENTLY TOO AFRAID TO DRIVE MY NEW CAR IN FEAR THAT SOMETHING WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. *TT *TR

WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, CONTROL PANEL STATED "VEHICLE NOT IN PARK" AND THEN COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. I HAD TO COAST INTO A PARKING LOT. I PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND VAN RESTARTED IMMEDIATELY. HOWEVER, WHEN I PUT THE VAN INTO D (DRIVE) THE CAR REVERSED! I IMMEDIATELY BRAKED AND THEN PRECEDED TO DRIVE FORWARD. THE "VEHICLE IS NOT IN PARK" HAS HAPPENED APPROXIMATELY 3 OTHER TIMES WHILE DRIVING BUT THE ENGINE NEVER STOPPED. THIS IS THE 2ND TIME MY VEHICLE HAS STALLED WHILE DRIVING. IT LOOSES ALL POWER!!! THE FIRST TIME IT WAS IN THE DEALERSHIP, THEY COULD NOT DETECT ANY ISSUES. IT WAS VERY SIMILAR EXCEPT THE PANEL STATED "VEHICLE IS NOT IN DRIVE". THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING TO A BRAND NEW CAR! THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND RECALLS SHOULD BE PLACED AS I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL OTHER VEHICLES WITH SIMILAR PROBLEMS. I HAVE 3 SMALL CHILDREN AND LUCKILY THEY WERE NOT WITH ME.

2018 PACIFICA WITH 5450 MILES ON IT. WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AT 60 MPH WITH ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGED, VEHICLE SUDDEN APPEARED TO STOP RUNNING. VEHICLE HAD BEEN OPERATING PERFECTLY NORMAL WITH NO INDICATION OF A PROBLEM UNTIL IT STARTED TO QUICKLY LOSE SPEED AND HAD NO RESPONSE FROM ACCELERATOR PEDAL. MESSAGE ON DASHBOARD SAID TO PLACE VEHICLE IN PARK AND PRESS START BUTTON. I'M NOT SURE IF THE ENGINE WAS ACTUALLY IDLING OR IF IT HAD COMPLETELY STOPPED RUNNING. I DID NOT NOTICE A LOSS OF POWER STEERING OR BRAKES. COASTED OVER TO SHOULDER, PLACED IN PARK AND TRIED TO RESTART. THE ENGINE WOULD START, BUT ONLY IDLE AT ABOUT 600 RPM. ACCELERATOR PEDAL HAD NO EFFECT ON ENGINE RPM AND I COULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTARTED IT SEVERAL TIMES WITH SAME RESULT OVER A 3 MINUTE PERIOD. THEN I SWITCHED THE AUTO START/STOP BUTTON INTO THE OFF (DEFEAT SETTING) AND WAS IMMEDIATELY ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, WHICH THEN OPERATED AS NORMAL. SINCE THIS INCIDENT YESTERDAY, THE VEHICLE HAS OPERATED AS NORMAL AND HAS REPORTED NO FAULTS THROUGH THE U-CONNECT APPLICATION. CLEAR WEATHER WITH TEMPERATURE NEAR 100 DEGREES WHEN THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED. BOTH KEYLESS REMOTES FOR THE VEHICLE WERE INSIDE THE VEHICLE, MINE IN MY POCKET AND MY WIFE'S IN HER PURSE. BEFORE HEADING OUT ON THIS TRIP I HAD USED THE REMOTE START FUNCTION AND ALLOWED THE VEHICLE TO RUN IN REMOTE START MODE UNTIL IT TIMED OUT. THEN HAD REMOTE STARTED THE VEHICLE A SECOND TIME BEFORE SWITCHING IT TO NORMAL RUN MODE BEFORE LEAVING THE PARKING LOT. THIS WAS ABOUT 40 MINUTES BEFORE THE EVENT HAPPENED. IT OCCURRED TO ME THAT THE MESSAGES THAT WERE DISPLAYED ON THE DASH WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS INOPERABLE WERE SIMILAR, OR POSSIBLY IDENTICAL TO MESSAGES DISPLAYED DURING THE REMOTE START FUNCTION, WHICH IS WHY I THOUGHT OF SWITCHING THE AUTO START/STOP BUTTON TO THE DEFEAT POSITION.

6/20 THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMED THAT THEY PERFORMED THE DTC INSPECTION AND A SYSTEM UPDATE (TO PREVENT VEHICLE FROM STALLING). THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED ON 6/23 AND IT BROKE DOWN ON 6/24. THE CAR WENT FROM 10MPH TO 43 MPH WHEN PRESSING ON THE GAS AND THEN INSTANTLY STOPPED AT AROUND 10MPH. THE VEHICLE TURNED OFF AND WAS UNABLE TO START AND HAD TO BE TOWED BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. I HIT A CURB AND IF I WAS NOT AN EXPERIENCED DRIVER I COULD HAVE KILLED SOMEONE OR MYSELF OR MY 3 CHILDREN COULD HAVE BEEN HARMED IF THEY WERE IN THE VEHICLE. I HAVE PROVIDED A VIDEO OF THE INCIDENT ON MY YOUTUBE AND THE DOCUMENTATION FROM WHAT THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE. THIS CAR NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AND OFF OF THE ROAD. PLEASE SAVE LIVES BECAUSE THIS WAS VERY SCARY AND I FEAR GETTING BACK INTO THE VEHICLE IF THEY FIX IT. I DO NOT WANT IT BACK. I WANT SAFETY FOR MY CHILDREN AND MYSELF. DRIVING 50 MPH AND ENGINE STOPPED. "D" WAS FLASHING STATING IT WASN'T IN DRIVE. ALL POWER LOST. I WAS ABLE TO TURN ON A SIDE STREET AND PUT IT IN PARK. TOOK MULTIPLE TIMES TO RESTART THE VAN. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME WITHOUT ANY OTHER EPISODES. TWO WEEKS AGO, WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT, THE INTERIOR LIGHTS DIMMED ALL OF A SUDDEN. THIS OCCURRED TWO TIMES. THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT DETECT ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE LIGHT DIMMING. I'M NOT SURE IF THEY ARE RELATED BUT I AM TERRIFIED TO DRIVE THE CAR WITH MY 3 YOUNG CHILDREN.

AUTO STOP/START FAILED MONDAY MORNING. DIED AT AN INTERSECTION. I WAS LUCKY. DIDN'T BLOCK THE WHOLE INTERSECTION, BUT ONLY 1 LANE. STOPPED IN FRONT OF A TRAFFIC LIGHT. I WAS THE 1ST VEHICLE OF THE LINE. THE STARTER DIDN'T START THE ENGINE WHEN TRAFFIC LIGHT BE GREEN. THE MESSAGE OF THE VEHICLE GUIDED ME TO TURN TO PARK, AND TO PUSH THE START. I DID MANY TIMES, SHORT PUSH, LONG PUSH. I COULD HEAR THE STARTER KICKED IN, BUT THE ENGINE REFUSED TO START. I STUCK THERE. TURNED ON EMERGENT FLASHERS. I FELT SO FRUSTRATING AND NERVOUS ABOUT THE CAR I PURCHASED THIS YEAR. NICE PEOPLE TRIED HELPING TO PUSH THE CAR TO A PARKING SPOT, BUT I COULD NOT GET IT INTO NEUTRAL GEAR. EVEN THOUGH, I COULD TURN THE BUTTON IT TO NEUTRAL POSITION. IT WAS NOT REAL NEUTRAL. WE COULD NOT PUSH IT. I TRIED TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY. BUT I COULD NOT DO IT WITHOUT THE RIGHT WRENCH BY THE F**KING NEW DESIGN. MY SON STARTED CRYING. I CALLED TOWING. I CALLED MY WIFE TO GET MY SON. MORE KIND PEOPLE TRIED TO HELP ME. ONE PERSON EVEN TRIED TO TOWING MY CAR AWAY WITH HIS TOWING STRAP. BUT WE ABANDONED BECAUSE THERE IS NO TOWING HOOK FOUND ON THE CAR. FINALLY, MY WIFE ARRIVED AND RODE MY SON TO DAYCARE. I WENT BACK INTO THE CAR, AND CALMED DOWN A LITTLE BIT. I TRIED TO TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF. BRAKE. TURING TO PARKING. PUSHING START/STOP BUTTON. I SUCCESSFULLY TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF. TOOK A DEEP BREATH, TURNED ON THE VEHICLE. EVERYTHING BACK IN NORMAL. I RUN THE CAR AWAY FROM THE INTERSECTION, AND CALLED CANCELLING THE TOWING SERVICE. THE WHOLE PROCESS TOOK MY MORE THAN HALF AN HOUR. HATE AUTO STOP START.

THEN I WAS STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT AND THE CAR TURNED OFF AND I HAD TO PUT IT IN PARK AND RE-START IT. WHEN I DROVE IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, THE WINDOW ROLLED DOWN AGAIN ON ITS OWN. BOUGHT VEHICLE ON MARCH 5, 2018, ON THE 2 HR DRIVE HOME THE CARS MAIN FRONT CENTER CONSOLE STARTS REBOOTING AND RESETTING OVER AND OVER, THE CAR THEN YANKS US HARD TO THE RIGHT AND AS I FIGHT THE DRIVER ASSIST MODE TO ACTUALLY STAY ON THE ROAD, MY HUSBAND AND MYSELF WAS PLENTY SCARED. WE GOT THE DRIVER ASSIST DISABLED, THE HEAT WAS UNABLE TO BE TURNED DOWN, THE STEERING WHEEL WAS SO HOT WE HAD TO PUT ON GLOVES, THE SEAT HEAT COULD NOT BE SHUT DOWN, WE WERE WITH WINDOWS OPEN IN THE SNOW, WE HAD NO CHOICE. WE ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE CAR, SAME FUNCTIONAL ISSUE. CONTACTED DEALERSHIP FOLLOWING MORNING, INFORMING THEM THEY SAID GET IN IN RIGHT AWAY, WE TOOK TO LOCAL CHRYSLER ON MAY 6TH AND THEY FOUND NOTHING. THEY DIDN'T BELIEVE US EITHER. HAPPENS AGAIN IMMEDIATELY THE DAY AFTER BEING THERE, AGAIN WE TOOK IT IN, THEY WANTED IT TO CONTINUE WHEN WE PULLED IN WE WERE TOLD, I SAID IT KEEPS TAKING US OFF THE ROAD. THE 3RD TIME WAS THE SAME ONLY WE ALMOST SIDE SWIPED ANOTHER VAN BY THE SKIN OF OUR TEETH. LUCKY WE PULLED HARD AND SAVED OURSELVES. IT HAS NOW BEEN AT CHRYSLER REPAIR MORE THAN 5-6 TIMES SAME EXACT PROBLEM, THEIR SAME EXACT EXCUSES, NO FIX. DEALERSHIP WHERE WE PURCHASED SUGGESTED WE BEGIN LEMON LAW ON IT. I AGREE, I DON'T WANT TO BE THE CRASH DUMMY. CHRYSLER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED ONLINE, THEY WERE INSISTENT IT CAN BE FIXED, ITS BEEN A MONTH, AND THEY HAVE HAD THE CAR MORE THAN US, AND THEY HAVE PUT 1000 MILES ON IT TOO, WHERE AS WE BARELY GOT 450 WITH RIDE HOME. WE WERE DRIVING HOME AT NIGHT AND STOPPED ON A RED LIGHT IN AN INTERSECTION ON A HIGHWAY. WHEN IT WAS 'GO' OUR PACIFICA 2018 (400 MILES ON IT) DID NOT RUN. LIGHT IS ON 'RUN', DIAL SHIFT ON DRIVE AND I DID NOT TURN OFF THE CAR. I STEPPED ON THE ACCELERATOR AGAIN BUT IT JUST WOULD NOT RUN. OTHER DRIVERS BEHIND ME STARTED HONKING AND I SIGNALED THEM TO GO AROUND ME. SO TURNED TO PARK AND TURNED OFF THE ENGINE. THEN TURNED BACK ON. STILL IT WOULD NOT RUN. FOR THE THIRD TIME I TURNED THE ENGINE COMPLETELY OFF, OPENED THE DOOR. THEN CLOSED THE DOOR AND REDID THE ENTIRE PROCESS. THIS TIME IT WORKED. TOOK US ABOUT 15 DISTRESSING SECONDS. I'M NOW SCARED DRIVING THIS THING WITH MY FAMILY WITH ME. I DONT WANT THIS TO HAPPEN AGAIN ESPECIALLY ON A BUSY HIGHWAY. JUST THE THOUGHT OF IT GIVES ME GOOSEBUMPS.
