Car will not start with push button and/or key fob push. Problem started 10 months ago with dead stop/start battery. Both batteries were replaced and then two months later stop/start system failed at stop lights. Car would stall once break was released to go. Had car serviced, starter replaced. Next day, car stalled and would not restart in parking lot, service department could not find any problems and no error lights found so the solution was to turn stop/start system off. A few months later car would not start on first try, took several pushes and sometimes a keyfob push. Sometimes "no key fob detection" light. Car was sent to service center again and they could not find any problems. At this time car only starts on 2nd push. Problem has worsened over the last 5 months, car takes at least 5 tries to start or doesn't start at all. Additional observations: brake gets very tight and pressurized after the first attempted start, steering wheel is locked.

Mid February 2025, while driving through a university campus 25 mph the vehicle died. All dash indicators went out, lost engine power, no warnings or indicators displayed on instrument panel. I held onto the steering wheel until stopped in the street without hitting college students or cars. Shifted to Park. Turned off and tried to start but the dash remained out and no engine start. Turned engine off again. Removed key fob. Got out of vehicle and waved traffic to go around. Got back in and started with success. Days later dash displayed hybrid charging maintenance required. Took vehicle to dealer and reported problems. I reported the issue on Chrysler web page. Dealer told me that the problem is a failed hybrid battery. Waiting for under warranty hybrid battery repairs.

Vehicle will start but the shifter will work. It threw a check engine light and check hybrid system code. You cannot get the vehicle out of gear and the shifter will not light up. After shutting the vehicle off and on 3 times it erased and acted like it never happened. This is the third time it has happened. What’s bad you can drive somewhere and be stuck there for hours not knowing if you need a tow or it’s going to reset again. Don’t know if something my happen while driving as well.

I had my Chrsyler Pacifica since Nov 2018 . Recently I heard a noise and Dealer suggested change in Transmission . Ever since I have problem with Car stopping im middle of road , towed 5 times to dealer and dealer says he fixed it but still same problem with vehicle stalling happen. yesterday (05/20), delaer informed that vehicle stalled in road while they did test drive after they fixed the problem. I am scared to drive this car anymore. Dealser did not want to loan their car as well anymore , I am without car for more than 30 days during this all 5 incidents .

Hello: My 2018 Pacifica hybrid was just recalled, and serviced, yet the hybrid battery only last a few miles before needing to be recharged. Also, when in reverse the back up camera doesn’t always come on and doesn’t beep when approaching an obstacle. It will also stay on while driving forward.

I bought my 2018 Chrysler Pacifica limited about two years ago. It’s been the worst decision I’ve ever made. I have just about a 3% rate and with the amount of issues these things have I’m so far upside down it’s not even funny. This car with all of its known issues is depreciating faster than I can pay for it. I currently have about 129,000 miles on it. I couldn’t get rid of this thing if I tried. The Chrysler dealership I service it with said they would give me 4000.00 IF they were willing to buy it back. The engine build company my mechanic uses says they won't even build these engines at all because of how many issues they have. So no option other than to buy the exact same engine is has now through Chrysler and know it will do it again. I’m having stalling/accelerating issues (shop can’t figure it out, kids cry when it stalls in traffic.. I've been in for it about 9 times to two different place) Oil cooler housing unit replaced last year (taken it back in a few times for ongoing leak, now need a head gasket) Head gasket Batteries galore Ongoing start stop issues My AC went out the month I bought it (leak in the lines near the rear) 3000k to fix The shop says it needs lifters, cam shafts and rockers (might as well do the engine if I had the extra money after paying off the rest of the repairs) My heated and cooled seats have stopped working numerous times Dash comes on and off when it wants Back up camera stays on the screen while I drive as much as it doesnt My rear washer fluid sprays INSIDE the car onto my kids Rear power seats stopped working multiple times now Get in to head to work and it just won’t start…. Have to basically play a video game with the controls and key fob to miraculously start it up Starting to rust already We have owned 2 Durango’s, 2 dodge rams, a Chrysler Sebring and now this. Clearly we support Chrysler but after this my husband switched to a ford truck and I will be going back as soon as I can if this isn't resolved.

In 2023, my vehicle initially experienced a persistent ticking noise in the engine, leading to extensive repairs. These included replacing the tappets, rockers, and timing chain tensioner on the right bank of the engine. Following these repairs, the vehicle exhibited low oil pressure, ultimately requiring a complete long block replacement. These issues left the vehicle out of service for nearly two months, significantly disrupting our daily lives. Despite these major repairs, my Pacifica has recently developed overheating issues, necessitating the replacement of the radiator at an estimated cost of over $2,000. The vehicle has less than 60,000 miles, and I find it deeply concerning that such critical mechanical issues are occurring at such low mileage. These repeated failures suggest a potential underlying defect in the design or manufacturing of this vehicle, which could present a safety risk. An overheating engine, for instance, poses a potential hazard both to the occupants and to other road users. The vehicle has stalled several times while driving and while at a stop light leaving the van completely disabled and it will not turn on or start again. My wife and 2 year old were put at risk when the vehicle stalled on them at a major intersection and my wife was unable to put the vehicle into parking or drive since there was no power after it stalled and dashboard lights flicked on and off multiple times.. Stall has also happened at drive thru almost causing collision with vehicle in front. The stall produces dashboard error messages reporting an internal transmission malfunction, auto start/stop error, and or a problem charging the battery. Certified ASE mechanics can’t reproduce the issue or find anything to pin point the issue after multiple diagnostic tests ran and physical thorough inspection. Every time a stall happens loads of error codes (85+) pull up but none point to the root cause of stalling happening. Vehicle has most up to date software update done over a year ago.

Purchased vehicle used and have put on miles. But since day 1 issues have been arising. First the Auto stop/start function stopped, 2 years later still unable to find the fix. More recent the gear shift just doesn’t work/turn on randomly or turns off while driving which is a safety concern. Now for the past 2 months the gear shift will not work or while driving the vehicle just loses acceleration and braking and slows to a stall and I can’t do anything until the gear shift turns back. I had 3 children on [XXX] when this started putting all our lives in danger. We were stuck for 2 hours the vehicle ran but was not drivable. Every mechanic says something different and it is a luck of the draw if the vehicle will work when you try it. Batteries all tested good. No obvious other issues other than loss of power steering for a short time. All warning lights flashing on and off randomly but it coincides with the loss of driving capabilities. I keep getting a check engine light with my Pacifica hybrid. The scanner says P1B11, soft code is P0506, Hybrid battery or wiring harness. The codes erase after driving for a long while, however, I notice that I’m not able to maintain a full hybrid battery charge for longer than a few miles. After about 5 miles of driving, I’m a 80% of battery life left. MPG averages about 30+/- something’s not right. It’s happened twice now, both times with excessive outside temperatures. 1st time while idling, 2nd time while stopped for fueling.

In March of this year (2024), while driving down the road at 45 mph, my Pacifica's dashboard suddenly lit up and flashed all kinds of warnings including ABS off, the check engine light, the parking brake, the service electronic throttle control, electronic stability control off, collision off, warning parking brake, and other lights that I'm not sure what they mean. It seemed like every warning light in the panel lit up. The van slowed down and wouldn't let me accelerate and it felt like the power steering wasn't active. I pulled into a parking lot and shut the engine off. After restarting, the check engine light was lit, but the van let me proceed. I took it to my auto shop that said the codes were all electronic/ software related and I had to take it to a dealership. The dealership said they couldn't find anything wrong and that the codes didn't save. On June 9, the lights started flashing again while I was parked in a parking lot while I was on a road trip. I was able to capture the end of it on my camera. I again turned the engine off and on again, and the van "reset" with only the check engine light on. I was able to proceed through the rest of the weekend and the check engine light actually turned off after a day. Then on June 22, the warning lights started flashing again. My son was driving this time (along with my husband and 2 other sons). He pulled into a parking lot to return the van home, but it wouldn't go into a gear. Slowly, they toggled through the gears until it would allow them to drive the van home. He also said that it felt like he lost power steering. Losing steering, the ability to accelerate, the ability to put the vehicle in gear while driving, and losing the ABS system and the electronic stability system definitely puts my family and others at risk of an accident. I am prepared to take it to my dealer if asked. It has not been inspected by anyone else accept a local car shop and the dealership.

Purchased the car used in 2018. Worked fine. Always kept up with my oil changes. Car now over 72000 miles. Suddenly, noticed car would jerk while im driving. Was told engi e misfire. Had it fixed so i thought. After a while, happening again. Also, without any warning, suddenly coolant disappears somewhere in the car. Not coming out at all. And without warning, car overheats. Constantly filling with coolant. Engine light suddenly comes on. Blinking on and off. Now im in engine failure. Not in warranty. Checked several forums, tons of people with the SAME issue. Bad engine from Chrysler. My Supreme warranty is expired, i am single mother of three and cannot fix. Still financing this vehicle. Can anybody help me? I dont have thousands of dollars to fix this.

My Vehicle suddenly stops while the car is in motion, it shuts completely off. I had an instance where my car shut off coming off the freeway off-ramp. This has happened on numerous occasions and we have been trying to call the dealership to see if there is any recall. We are never given a straight answer and we feel unsafe to drive our vehicle

I have had transmission problems with this van since I bought it. Had it in the shop several times. It jumps or pops and throws vehicle forward. I also have had to replace the large battery and the accessory battery multiple times. This has left me stranded many times bc it will shut off while driving. Last time was today 11/01/2023. Large battery and alternator was good. Accessory battery dead completely and replaced for free since it was in warranty still. But they say it has caused my van to misfire in cyclinder 3. Car has only been maintenance through Elliot Chrysler Dodge in Carthage Tx

GPS does not show accurate location. GPS location is showing vehicle location is 100s of miles from the actual location. This makes GPS unusable, and other vehicle functions that require the vehicles location to be unusable as well. There are extensive documented reports of this incident online.

Van has been clunking/slipping through transmission when accelerating. Stop/Start function error relayed and had a rough idle noticeable when started cold. Car would shut down on occasion when coming to a stop. Battery was recently replaced, assuming due to start/stop battery(also been replaced) draining main battery. Technician indicated Misfire on cylinder, coil swapped, spark plugs replaced and 100,000 mileage maintenance completed per recommendation due to scope of work. Van returned then upon first start, extremely rough idle and exhaust smelled the worst I've ever smelled, choking even. Van taken under warranty at least 2 times for transmission and abrupt shutdowns due to safety concerns with vehicle. Never replicated at dealership.

Auto on/off was working for a few days (which is not normal). When in the drop off line for school it turned off for that. When I let go of the gas to go, the car shut off completely. I restarted it and it said "service shifter" and the shifter lights did not come on. I did move it to park by counting the clicks of the turns. Drove home from the school. Same day and other days following, the auto on/off is back to not working. Randomly when I start the car it says the "service shifter" message and does not light up the shifter letters. Sometimes if I turn it off and then back on it will not appear. Other times, it does and I have to just go. This is a safety hazard if it shuts off and will not turn back on. This started roughly 1.5/2 weeks ago - the week after Easter.

2018 Chrysler Pacifica T, Uconnect infotainment system shuts off and reboots every 2-3 minutes while driving. It is available for inspection upon request. When the Uconnect shuts down driver loses all features connected to the system to include: GPS/Navigation, blue tooth, in-cabin climate controls, and back up camera. This causes the driver to become distracted in order to re-synch phone, dvd player, navigation. Additionally, my wife almost backed over a 6 year old child because the back up camera shut off when backing up from a parking spot. There is an incredible risk of injury/death with this systems failure. The issue has not been reproduced by the manufacturer (FCA), dealer or independent service center. This issue is being addressed by class action lawsuit: Case 2:20-cv-11838-SFC-RSW ECF No. 1 filed 07/07/20 The vehicle was inspected by the state of Maryland. The vehicle is now at the dealership for diagnosis and I have to pay all expenses out-of-pocket. No warning indicators.

The vehicle is hard shifting/jerking when accelerating from either a slow speed or from a complete stop. When it does this, it feels like I'm getting rear-ended with a jolt forward. It doesn't do this all the time and when it does it scares me. Please advise.

Three times since this past summer, while driving approx. 30-40 mph the van's power shut down. We were able to steer and brake which allowed us to coast to a spot to stop. All three incidents occurred with children in the van during rush hour. We were forced to pull over on a dangerous section of road. The first incident the car did not restart for about 45 minutes. The second time it restarted in about 5 minutes and the third attempt it took about 1 minute to restart. In each incident it appeared as if something in the electronics of the van shut down and eventually reset on its own. The "check engine" light came on after each of these incidents, but no indication prior that there was an issue. After multiple times in the dealership service center and with support from FCA Customer Care it was eventually decided that the transmission needed to be replaced which occurred in November. Since then there have been a few incidents where the van simply would not start. After some time and opening/closing doors, plugging/unplugging it, and pressing the start button, it eventually restarted. The check engine light came on again but would then turn off a few days later. We were told by the dealership that if the light was not on there was little they could. Then a few weeks ago (December) a similar incident occurred again where the car shut off, this time while driving about 10 mph. We brought the van to the dealership and again they investigated with support from FCA. We were told they investigated "connections" within the van but they were unable to find a definitive problem. Additionally they took the car for an extended test drive during which the van did not do the shut down problem. We have now been informed by the dealership that FCA is closing our case and we need to pick up the van. Because no problem was identified and fixed, we do not feel safe driving the van for fear that this problem will occur again which puts the people in the van at significant risk.

My Air Conditioning stopped working at 50k miles. The dealership, Sarasota Dodge, charged me $409 to look at the car and wanted $3300 to repair it. I don't have that kind of money and the car is still under warranty. I brought my brand new car to a local garage and they diagnosed the issue for free and charged me a 1/4 of the cost Chrysler did to repair it. The issue is the material used for the evaporator core is aluminum and does not interact well with the air conditioning chemicals so the chemicals eat away at the core and the chemicals escape into the cabin. This had been going on for a long time and I did not know what the smell was.

The automatic start/stop has consistently been an issue. The car auto stopped while I was at a light in the middle of a busy intersection and caused the entire car to shut off instantly with no warning, the whole car except the radio went black. There was no light on the dashboard until after it shut off and was jump-started. Both aux battery, regular battery and 2 relays have already had to be replaced previously to fix the issue, and it has become and issue for a second time after all those repairs.

There are multiple things but here are a few i thought my wife was crazy until i started to drive it. 1. The steering feels like it gets stuck its not Major but it is a slight tug and it does it at random. 2. The trunk opens own its own (it has done this 2 times while i was driving) my wife says it has happened to her 1 other time as well. 3. The sliding doors will open and close on freely like something is caught in the track however the tracks are clean and it will bounce open close. 4. The Gas pedal sticks not engaged but when you press the gas nothing will happen then all of the sudden the RPMs will skyrocket 5. Cruise control works great if your on a flat road but if you get on a slight hill your either getting all the RPMs or it turns it off 6. The Auto Stop start thing stopped working and the light stays on but that's fine I didn't like the stop start thing anyway. 7. I did change a battery and it helped with the dash lights not looking like a Christmas program 8. the AC went out after the car had one of the RPM fits then the AC stopped. how does that make sense 9. overall i think the car is having some type of electrical issue or it has a mind of its own. Ive gone to mechanics and they all just do the same shoulder shrug. i have a appointment with a dealership but they are so back logged its disappointing.

The Navigation System on the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica, has malfunctioned and does not show the correct map data. For example, I am in Richmond, KY. If I select the navigation, it may show that I am in Campbellsville, KY on one day and then Somerset, Ky on another or any other random city that is NOT my current location. Per the dealer, this is not a map update or reset issue. The dealer says it requires a total replacement of the "radio" which includes the screen associated with the nav system. The local dealer said that this has become a common issue on this matter. It of course was an out of warranty issue, with dealer wanting somewhere near a $1,000 to replace. My internet research reveals that this is a widely experienced problem among this model. At first glance, this may not appear to be a "safety related" issue, however I believe it is. As an example; if you a traveling to a place that you are not familiar, and seek the nav for route assistance, it will be totally incorrect, due to the fact it thinks you are in a different location than you actually are, therefore giving directions that are incorrect. This in and of its self is a safety issue. Given the volume of complaints regarding this it would seem Chrysler would take proactive measures to correct.

The vehicle lost all power, engine, shifting capabilities while on the freeway. The car was luckily able to be steered without power steering to the side of the freeway in an 80 mph zone. There were 6 occupants who were nearly hit and almost caused multiple accidents. It was towed to a dealership and was confirmed to have power inverter module failure. This is a common problem in 2017-2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrids. Chrysler knowingly excluded this vehicle from the recall and is unable to produce replacement parts, replacement vehicle, or any solution. There were no lights on the dash when the problem occurred. The failure was spontaneous and completely rendered the vehicle inoperable.

I was driving on the highway at approximately 60mph when the engine suddenly quit and the message "Put vehicle in Park to restart" appeared on the console. I managed to get parked in a precarious position on the wedge between an on ramp and the interstate. Although I was able to shift into Park I was not able to restart the vehicle for some time. During that time I called Chrysler Roadside assistance which could not help with the problem and 911 (because it was so unsafe to remain in place) A policeman came and called for a tow but while waiting, the car finally shut down and restarted. The check engine indicator was still on but I managed to drive to the next exit and get to a safe location. I finally was contacted by Roadside Assistance but they could offer no assistance. I restarted the car. The check engine light was off and I completed my trip without incident. This is the third time this problem has occurred. In the other two incidents the vehicle restarted right away. This is an extremely dangerous behavior, however, and seems to be commonly reported on chrysler forums. I do not know if it is related to the current recall or not. I was under the impression that prior recalls had resolved this problem but see it reported in more current models as well. Chrysler apparently does not understand the cause or have a fix. In most cases, it appears they are unconcerned.

Chrysler Infotainment screen on dash reboots or freezes during vehicle operation. This inhibits the use of the backup camera which is displayed on the Infotainment dash monitor. Infotainment system also controls bluetooth hands free phone, climate controls, radio and rear seat entertainment system. My inability to use the backup camera has created a risk to my children's safety when moving the car in parking lots or driveways, and is in violation of NHTSA's rear camera laws enacted in 2018. Chrysler has offered $0 assistance. I was charged for a "software reboot" attempt and was told the entire unit needed replaced at a cost of $589.oo + tax at the dealership.

We purchased our 2018 Chrysler Pacifica used in 2019. In 2021 we started having issues with the rear left passenger sliding door. It will randomly open and close on it's own. Sometimes it takes 3 or 4 times before it will latch. It has never opened while moving but just randomly when getting in or out. Then in late 2021 the vehicle started having random "stall out" moments. It has happened 7 times now. It started when we were driving and we noticed its mainly when accelerating. The vehicle will stall out for a good 5-15 seconds. Occasionally dropping from 70mph (on the interstate) to 35 mph in seconds. This is super dangerous and a huge safety hazard. We stopped driving on the interstate and it would seem to do it most when it was being accelerated at a light change. Again, very scary moments. The vehicle will have lights begin to flash on the dashboard, etc. We have had it at the dealership 3 times now and have spent countless money on "fixing" different things that it could be, but every time we drive it home within a day or so the incidents happen again.

Spontaneous fire originating under hood - unknown cause - possibly related to electrical or starting system as vehicle had difficulty starting a few minutes prior to the fire. Smoke began coming out from under hood while at stop light with engine running. Service auto stop start light was on, so was not active. Smoke then began coming into the cabin through air vents as vehicle left intersection, then flames started coming out from hood as vehicle pulled over. Driver egressed as flames spread. Fire department extinguished fire after it had damaged much of the vehicle and completely consumed the front end.

My vehicles power sliding doors on the right side of the vehicle will not open using the controls on the door itself or the handle. They will open using the key fob, or from the control panel accessible to the driver on front of the vehicle. Once opened form the front panel or key fob, the door controls become responsive again (the electric controls or door handle will close the door), until the door closes, at which point they will not open it. I understand there is a technical bulletin for the door, and the the dealership will flash upgrade the controller to resolve intermittent door not working issues, however this could prevent the passenger on that side of the vehicle from evacuating in the case of an emergency, which could elevate it to a safety issue.

The problem occurring on the vehicle is the inability of the vehicle to start despite the battery being fully charged. A little red dot 🔴 appeared on the instrument panel upon starting vehicle the day prior to incident. The day of the incident the vehicle wouldn’t turn over and the check engine light had come on. Upon calling AAA the vehicle had been jumped and started up fine. Next morning vehicle would not start and had to be jumped again. AAA was called again and they checked the battery and it was good. They felt there was a problem with the relay system. Also to be noted, the battery for the auto start/stop system is currently dead; dealership said it wouldn’t cause any problems If it wasn’t replaced. The battery for the key fob had been replaced a few months prior to this incident. Vehicle can be available for inspection. My family runs the risk of being stranded if the problem persists.

While driving the van suddenly stops and the engine cuts out-this has been accompanied by multiple dashboard warning lights going on and off. The steering wheel also locks up when this happens. The van shows that it is still in run mode but will not move until it is turned off completely and then restarted. This has occurred while in traffic driving at normal speeds as well as when turning. In these instances I had my kids in the vehicle with me. Following one incident the vehicle would not restart for about 2-3 minutes. When attempting to start the dashboard lights and interior lights would flash on and off and then stop. I have taken it to an independent repair shop that was unable to correct any issues due to proprietary Chrysler programming. My local Chrysler dealership told me that they could not replicate the issue. I have also had issues with the side and rear power doors opening part way and then closing and vice versa. This incidents have occurred while the vehicle was running but not in motion. The local dealership did diagnose an electrical issues with the rear folding seats that was caused from a programming bug that they indicate was fixed. All of these issues have occurred multiple times and every time I am told that it could not be replicated so there was nothing to be done. Currently the van is not operational as it will not start, when attempting to start ALL the lights (internal and external) flash on and off, the vehicle indicates that it is in run mode but the engine is not on. I did have the battery tested, it’s fine. Multiple online searches revel that I am not the only consumer with this issue.

Vehicle caught on fire under the engine on the passenger side. It was contained within the engine compartment. I smelled smoke and thought it was from outside. Not seeing any haze outside I check my vehicle indications and all were normal. When I stopped to wait to make a left turn that’s when I saw the smoke and pulled over. Police and fire put out the flames. The car is currently in the shop being repaired and nobody can tell me why it happened but they are repairing it. I’m concerned for the safety of my family.

The upper control arms bushings needed replaced due to a popping noise from the wheel any time I turned. You then could feel the pop under your feet when you turn. We got them fixed, but now it has started popping again just 2 weeks later. There is now a rattling/clanging noise coming from the feet area when you hit a bump. It’s pretty loud at times and you can feel vibrating in the steering wheel. I feel very unsafe with my two children being in the car and traveling around town. The auto start stop battery has also been replaced many times. It keeps going out and will make my car turn off while driving at times.

At least daily it shifts hard. My foot would be off the gas and it will shift up. I have gone to the dealer to get it "fixed". They did a software update. It was fixed for a few days and started up again. The car only has 30K miles on it. Shouldn't be having these issues. There's no approx date. It's ongoing since I took over car from my father on 2/26/2020

The first thing I would like to address is the shutdown system eco feature has shutdown out of nowhere. An A indicator light is on dash, along with my check engine light. In addition, when I turn the vehicle on the RPM go sky high for about 45 seconds before it adjust to proper rpms. I also believe there are major electrical issue going on with the vehicle. My power doors, and rear door won’t open and the lights in the minivan flicker when the vehicle starts. I am worried this is my only family means for transportation. I have only had this vehicle for a little over a year.

I was driving about 45MPH, slowed up to a green traffic light, turned right and accelerated. The car lost power for about 5 seconds, then came back on after I had pulled to the side. We brought it in for service, but Chrysler could not duplicate or diagnose the issue. Then, twice, my wife was stopped at a stop sign or traffic light. She got a green left arrow, accelerated into her turn, and the car lost power, then resumed after about 3-5 seconds each time. After her second occurrence, my wife drove it straight to the dealership, got the service advisor to drive the vehicle with her, he turned right into another dealership, and the car lost power for 3 seconds. Again, Chrysler was unable to diagnose and repair the problem.

No mater what I tried it wouldn't budge had to the dealer twice about it they said they needed to order a part. They are in northeast Ohio Right now I am 200 miles from home on a Sunday . And hope a local dealer has the part This van has been a disappointment to say the least.

Sliding door shuts, beeps and reopens. we have to hit the button 3-5 times before it shuts. Back up camera flashes blue and does not work. Aux battery keeps going dead and the auto start stop quits working. I just had to spend 1000 to fix all the issues. after seeing other comments this seems to be quite a problem with a lot of these vans.

WHILE DRIVING, MY SON, WHO WAS SEATED IN THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE THIRD ROW, NOTICED THAT HIS CUPHOLDER AREA WAS EXTREMELY HOT. I PULLED OVER AND CONFIRMED. WE DROVE ON AND I TOLD HIM TO CHECK. IT STAYED VERY HOT FOR THE DURATION OF THE DRIVE. AT THE FIRST VISIT THE DEALER SAID THAT THEY ADDED INSULATION BETWEEN THE INTERIOR PANELS AND THE COOLANT LINES IN THE AREA, THOUGH AS AN ENGINEER I UNDERSTOOD THAT SAID INSULATION WOULD DO NOTHING IF IT WERE SQUEEZED TIGHTLY BETWEEN THE PANEL AND THE PIPE. WE NOTICED NO CHANGE AND REPORTED THE PROBLEM TO CHRYSLER, WHO REFUNDED THE VISIT BUT TOOK NO FURTHER ACTION. A REPEAT VISIT TO THE DEALER HAD THEM SAYING THERE WAS LESS THAN FIVE DEGREES DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE HOT SPOT AND THE SURROUNDING AREA. I HAVE CONTACTED THE CORPORATE WEBPAGE AND WAS DIRECTED BACK TO MY CASE MANAGER. GUARDIAN SERVICES CLAIM THE RADIO IS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH MY VIN SO THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. VERY FREQUENTLY THE UTHEATER APPLICATION WILL NOT WORK AFTER SHUTTING VAN OFF AND RESTARTING. WE HAVE GONE THROUGH 1 BATTERY A YEAR EVEN THOUGH IT IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE A 5 YEAR LIFE. AFTER STOPPING AT A RED LIGHT THE AUTO START/STOP CAUSES THE VAN TO DIE. I HAD TO COMPLETELY RESTART THE VAN. OUT OF NOWHERE DRIVING HOME DOING ABOUT 50 MPH IT FLASHED A LOW BATTERY ALERT THEN DIED WITHIN 2 MINUTES WHILE DRIVING. THANK GOD I WAS ONLY A BLOCK FROM HOME AND IT WAS DOWNHILL. MY VAN JUST HAD THE BATTERY REPLACED AGAIN AND AGAIN WON'T START. THIS BATTERY IS 2 WEEKS OLD. I HAD TURNED OFF THE AUTO START/STOP AS DIRECTED BY MY DEALERSHIP AND IT CONTINUES TO DRAIN BATTERIES. AFTER DOING RESEARCH I FOUND ABOUT 100 CASES WITH THE SAME ISSUES. IF I WOULD HAVE STILL BE ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN IT DIED I COULD HAVE BEEN HIT. THIS HAS HAPPENED ABOUT A DOZEN OR MORE TIMES IN THE YEAR AND A HALF WE HAVE HAD THE VAN. THE FIRST TIME THE BATTERY DIED WAS LESS THAN 2 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING THE VAN. SOMETIMES THE SCREEN IS BLANK WITH ONLY THE GUIDING LINES VISIBLE AND OTHER TIMES IT IS COMPLETELY BLANK WITH A STATEMENT AT THE TOP STATING THE BACK UP CAMERA IS UNAVAILABLE. THIS IS A MAJOR CONCERN FOR US DUE TO HAVING SMALL CHILDREN, GOING TO THE SCHOOL, PLAYGROUND, ETC. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY COULD REPLACE THE CAMERA FOR $400 BUT THE ISSUE SEEMS TO BE A SHORT IN THE WIRING SOMEWHERE. AS THE CAMERA SOMETIMES WORKS. ONE OF THE PICTURES ATTACHED SHOW THE CAMERA FROZEN WITH A WHITE VEHICLE ON THE BACK UP SCREEN. THE WHITE VEHICLE THAT IS DISPLAYED IS ACTUALLY IN FRONT OF THE VAN AT THE TIME OF THE PICTURE. THE REAR CAMERA DID NOT DISENGAGE AND REMAINED ON. I PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER INTO ANOTHER PARKING SPACE SO AS TO EXAMINE THE SCREEN. THERE WAS AN "X" IN THE UPPER RIGHT HAND CORNER OF THE SCREEN SO I PUSHED THE X AS IT IS A TOUCH SCREEN. NO JOY. I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND SAT FOR ABOUT 3 MINUTES, THEN I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. THE REAR CAMERA WAS STILL IN OPERATION WHILE I SAT IN PARK AND THE CAR IDLED. I ATTEMPTED TO POWER OFF THE SCREEN BY DEPRESSING THE RADIO POWER BUTTON, BUT IT ALSO YIELDED NO RESULTS. I ELECTED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE HOME AS OPPOSED TO PAYING FOR A TOW, AND AS I DROVE, THE SCREEN WOULD TRANSFER TO A BLUE SCREEN AS I REACHED A CERTAIN SPEED, AND THEN REVERT BACK TO THE CAMERA VIEW AS I SLOWED BELOW THAT SPEED. THE SPEED VARIANT WAS APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH. AS THE BLUE SCREEN APPEARED THE WORDS "REAR CAMERA NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME" APPEARED ON THE SCREEN AT THE TOP. I AGAIN TRIED TO PRESS THE "X" WHICH APPEARED IN THE UPPER RIGHT HAND CORNER TO ALLEVIATE THE SITUATION TO NO AVAIL. UPON RETURNING HOME I EXITED THE VEHICLE AND PROCEEDED TO GOOGLE RECALLS FOR 2018 CHRYSLER PACIFICA'S. I FOUND THAT A RECALL WAS IN PLACE FOR JUST THE EXPERIENCE I HAD WITH THE CAMERA. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP WHO TOLD ME MY VIN NUMBER REFLECTS NO RECALLS. I CALLED CHRYSLER AT 1-800-334-9200 AND THEY TOO STATED MY VEHICLE HAS NO RECALLS. I ASKED ABOUT THE RECALL ON THE BACKUP CAMERA THAT I HAD READ ABOUT AND WAS ADVISED THAT MY VEHICLE DID NOT QUALIFY AS IT WAS A DIFFERENT RADIO IN THE CAR. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THIS ISSUE IS NOW EVIDENT IN ALL OF THEIR VEHICLES AND SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER A RECALL, AS IT IS A DISTINCT DISTRACTION WHILE TRYING TO DRIVE AND MAY WELL CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.

VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW IN MARCH 2019 OFF THE SHOWROOM FLOOR FROM A DEALER IN MORTON, IL. IT HAD RADIO PROBLEMS FROM THE BEGINNING AND WAS NOTED ON MY FIRST SERVICE VISIT 6/4/19. THE RADIO WOULD FREEZE ON THE LOADING SCREEN AND NEVER OPERATE. I WAS TOLD TO WAIT FOR SOFTWARE UPDATES REGARDLESS OF THE AMOUNT OF PICTURES AND VIDEOS I SHOWED THE TEAM MEMBERS OF WHAT WAS GOING ON WITH THE RADIO FREEZING AND REBOOTING, NOT TO MENTION THE WI-FI ISSUES. FAST FORWARD TO JULY OF THIS YEAR AND THE WHOLE RADIO AND ASSOCIATED SAFETY FEATURES WENT OUT. I WAS DRIVING 1,000 MILES FROM MY NEW HOUSE IN NC BACK TO IL FOR A VISIT AND 90 MINUTES INTO THE DRIVE THE RADIO AND CLIMATE CONTROLS ALL WENT OUT. I WAS THEN DRIVING IN THE RAIN, IN THE MOUNTAINS, WITHOUT A WAY TO DEFOG MY WINDSHIELD. I'M VERY FAMILIAR WILL PULLING THE FUSE TO RESET THE RADIO (AS NOTED IN OTHER SERVICE VISITS), BUT EVEN THAT DIDN'T FIX IT THIS TIME. FOR MUCH OF THE DRIVE I HAD HEAT INSTEAD OF AC IN THE DRIVER'S AREA. CAMERAS WERE NOT FUNCTIONAL DURING THIS TIME AND THE LANE ASSIST AND CROSS TRAFFIC ALERT WAS INTERMITTENT. I ARRIVED TO CENTRAL IL LATE AT NIGHT ON THURSDAY, JULY 23RD, NOW 600 MILES OUTSIDE THE 36K WARRANTY. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN TO PULL CODES ON FRIDAY, AS INSTRUCTED. I WAS TOLD NO ONE COULD HELP ME AT THAT POINT AND TO JUST COME FOR MY OIL CHANGE ON THE 29TH. ON THE 29TH, MY COMMENT ON THE RADIO WASN'T EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE BY THE SERVICE REP AND THERE ARE NO NOTES ON THE SERVICE RECEIPT ABOUT IT. ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 28TH, THE RADIO STARTED REBOOTING EVERY 3 TO 4 MINUTES. I HAVE NO USE OF SAFETY FEATURES OR CAMERAS. THE BATTERY THEN DIED FROM REBOOTING THE COMPUTERS REGARDLESS OF OPERATION. BOTH SLIDING DOORS WERE DISABLED. THE BACK HATCH DOESN'T OPEN AT ALL. UCONNECT SAFETY LOCATION FEATURES WERE NOT WORKING.

ON MAY 1, 2020, I BROUGHT MY 2018 CHRYSLER PACIFIC TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE REPAIRED BECAUSE OF RECALL CAMPAIGN 19V886000. IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A SIMPLE UPDATE TO THE RADIO SOFTWARE. HOWEVER, THE ENTIRE RADIO MALFUNCTIONED WHEN THEY ATTEMPTED TO UPDATE THE SOFTWARE. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THE ENTIRE RADIO NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THEY ORIGINALLY ESTIMATED IT WOULD TAKE 3 TO 5 DAYS TO RECEIVE A NEW RADIO. ENDED UP PUTTING IT BACK INTO PARK AND TRIED REVERSE AGAIN AND IT JERKED INTO GEAR MOVING THE VAN. TOOK IT TO PROGRESSIVE DODGE CHRYSLER IN OHIO AND FOUND IT THEY NEED TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION VAVLE BODY AND ALSO SOMETHING WITH THE EMISSONS. HOW DOES SOMETHING LIKE THIS GO BAD SO FAST...

WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO PRESS THE GAS THE CAR STOPPED - GEAR SHIFTER WAS LOCKED AND WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO MOVE IT EVEN TO NEUTRAL. THE D GEAR WAS BLINKING BLUE AND I WAS UNABLE TO EITHER BRAKE, ACCELERATE, OR TURN THE VEHICLE OFF. THIS CAUSED A VERY DANGEROUS/HAZARDOUS SITUATION WHEN IN TRAFFIC. THE VAN STALLS AT ALL DIFFERENT SPEEDS. LOSING ALL CONTROL AD HAVING TO COAST OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY BECAUSE THE CAR HAS COMPLETELY LOST POWER. MORE SCARY THINGS HAPPENED WHEN THE TOWING TRUCK GUYS SHOWED UP TO DRIVE THE CAR TO DEALER. HE WAS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHERE IS THE BUTTON TO PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL, CALLED DEALERSHIP NO ONE KNEW, LOOKED AT A VIDEO WHERE IT SHOWED THERE IS A SMALL BOX UNDER STEERING WHICH HAS A RIBBON TO PULL TO MOVE THE CAR TO NEUTRAL MODE. WHEN THE TOWING DRIVER OPENED THAT SPACE THERE WAS NO RIBBON. THESE ARE PART OF SAFETY ISSUES WITH THE CAR, TIS TIME IT HAPPENED IN A PARKING LOT IF IT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED ON THE LIVE ROAD THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN DISASTROUS.

FREQUENTLY THE DRIVER SIDE REAR POWER DOOR DOES NOT REMAIN SHUT. WHEN THE POWER DOOR CLOSURE IS ACTIVATED, THE DOOR SLIDES ALL OF THE WAY CLOSED AND THEN FREQUENTLY WILL REVERSE, CAUSING THE DOOR TO OPEN COMPLETELY AGAIN. THIS CAN CAUSE THE DRIVER TO THINK THE DOOR IS CLOSED IF A CHILD CLOSES THE DOOR OR IF SOMEONE WALKS AWAY AFTER HITTING THE POWER CLOSURE BUTTON, BUT MAY NOT BE, CAUSING A SAFETY CONCERN. I SEE OTHERS ONLINE ARE HAVING SAME ISSUE. THE DEALER INDICATES IT IS A FIRMWARE/SOFTWARE ISSUE AND IS REQUIRING A SUBSTANTIAL FEE TO UPDATE THE SOFTWARE/FIRMWARE TO FIX THE ISSUE. THE ISSUE CAN HAPPEN WHEN ON A FLAT OR INCLINED TERRAIN. IT STARTED HAPPENING SHORTLY AFTER WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE NEW.

IT HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES 2) THE VEHICLE WILL VIOLENTLY SHIFT AT LOW SPEEDS. 10-15MPH. THE VEHICLE ACTS LIKE IT IS SEARCHING FOR THE GEAR (SLOWING) AND THEN SHIFTS HARD! FEELS LIKE YOU ARE BEING HIT FROM BEHIND. THIS HAPPENS ON ALL STREETS AND AT ALL TIMES (TURNING, GOING STRAIGHT) STAR CASE IS OPEN WITH FIAT.

I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE STREET AND THE VEHICLE JUST SHUT OFF. A LIGHT FOR LANE ASSIST CAME ON THAT SAID SEEK SERVICE ASAP. IT WENT RIGHT BACK OUT THOUGH. I IMMEDIATELY SCHEDULED IT TO BE CHECKED OUT. THE DEALERSHIP IN HERMITAGE, PENNSYLVANIA SAID THEY HAD ANOTHER WOMAN WITH SAME VEHICLE AND SAME PROBLEM. THEY WERE WAITING ON A RECALL TO KNOW HOW TO FIX IT. UPON RETURNING TO FLORIDA, I ALSO WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE FROM. THE SERVICE MANAGER HAD NEVER HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM. HOWEVER, WE INFORMED HIM WE HAD LOOKED IT UP ON LINE AND THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW.

WE ARRIVED HOME FROM THE GROCERY STORE, I PARKED THE CAR IN THE GARAGE TURNED IT OFF AND BEGAN UNLOADING THE GROCERIES. ABOUT 2 AM THURSDAY, THE INDOOR SECURITY SYSTEM WENT OFF, SAYING "ALERT CARBON MONIXIDE." I THEN WENT OUT TO THE GARAGE AND FOUND THE ENGINE HAD BEEN RUNNING FOR SEVERAL HOURS. THE HOOD OF THE CAR WAS TOO HOT TO TOUCH. I THEN SHUT OFF THE ENGINE AND OPENED THE GARAGE DOOR TO BEGIN AIRING OUT THE GARAGE. THEN GOT MY WIFE UP AND BEGAN AIRING OUT THE HOUSE. MY DAUGHTER CAME OVER AND CONTINUED OPENING WINDOWS TO AIR OUT THE UPPER FLOOR OF THE HOUSE. I HAVE NO IDEA WHY THE ENGINE RESTARTED OR WHY IT REMAINED RUNNING FOR SO LONG. I HAVE SINCE REALIZED THE SPARE CAR 'KEY' WAS HANGING JUST ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WALL TO THE GARAGE, WELL WITHIN THE 5 FEET FROM THE VEHICLE, WHICH IS NECESSARY FOR THE CAR TO KNOW THE KEY IS NEARBY, ALLOWING THE DOORS TO BE OPENED, ETC. I TOOK THE CAR OUT THE FIRST TIME AFTER THE INCIDENT, THE TRIP INFORMATION SAID THE CAR HAD DRIVEN A TOTAL OF 120 MILES SINCE BEING REFUELED, FOR AN AVERAGE MPG RATING OF 4.7 MPG. SINCE THE AVERAGE FUEL USAGE IS BETWEEN 24 AND 31 MPG, I MUST ASSUME THE EXTRA FUEL WAS USED TO IDLE THE ENGINE FOR SEVERAL HOURS. SINCE WE WERE ALONE IN THE HOUSE THERE WERE NO INJURIES, BUT HAD SOMEONE BEEN SLEEPING UP STAIRS, I AM SURE THE WOULD HAVE BEEN AFFECTED BY OR KILLED BY THE CARBON MONIXIDE. ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS THE NAVIGATION SCREEN WOULD GO BLACK OR FREEZE UP. ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS THE UCONNECT THEATER WOULD NOT WORK. EVERYTIME WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS FINE AND DIDN'T INVESTIGATE THE ISSUE. RECENTLY, WE WENT TO THE STORE MADE SEVERAL STOPS AT DIFFERENT STORES ON OUR LAST STOP THE VAN WOULD NOT RECOGNIZE THE KEYS. WE COULDN'T LOCK OR UNLOCK THE VAN. I HAD TO PULL OUT THE EMERGENCY KEY TO GET INTO THE VAN. ONCE INSIDE THE VAN DIDN'T RECOGNIZE THE KEYS. I ENDED UP HAVING TO GOOGLE THE ISSUE FOR A WORK AROUND TO GET HOME. THE ENTIRE RIDE THERE WAS A DISPLAY STATING THAT THE KEY WAS NOT IN THE VEHICLE. WE MADE ON MORE STOP AND AN LEFT THE VAN RUNNING. TEN MINUTES LATER IT RECOGNIZED THE KEY AND A UCONNECT STARTING WORKING AGAIN. THE VAN IS A 2018 AND LESS THAN A YEAR OLD. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR A NEW VEHICLE.

THE BRAKE HAS TO BE APPLIED, THE VEHICLE SHIFTED TO PARK AND FINALLY THE START BUTTON PRESSED. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN AND VERY FRIGHTENING THE TWO TIMES THAT IT HAS HAPPENED. THE DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN CONTACTED AND AN EMERGENCY SERVICE APPOINTMENT HAS BEEN SCHEDULED. ALSO, THE MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN CONTACTED AND A CASE NUMBER HAS BEEN ASSIGNED.

WITH START/STOP ON, SITTING AT A STOP SIGN OR LIGHT, CAR STOPS AS IT'S SUPPOSED TO, THEN I REMOVE MY FOOT FROM THE BRAKE AND IT ROLLS BACKWARD. IT DOESN'T DO IT ALL THE TIME, DEALER UNABLE TO REPLICATE ISSUE AND SENDS ME HOME. I ARGUE STATING MY VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE FOR MY CHILDREN! ONCE IT ROLLED ME INTO A MAILBOX SHATTERING MY REAR WINDOW!

THEY'VE REPLACED THE RADIO ONCE BUT THAT DIDN'T CORRECT ISSUES. PER DEALERSHIP, CHRYSLER HAS 'RADIO RESTRICTION' SO THEY DON'T KNOW WHEN ANOTHER MIGHT BE AVAILABLE. SEEMS MORE OF A SOFTWARE ISSUE THAT THEY DON'T SEEM TO KNOW HOW TO CORRECT

FORWARD COLLISION WARNING SYSTEM IS NOT WORKING.WENT BACK TO TO DEALERS AND IT STILL DOES NOT WORK.I CALLED CHRYSLER AND SPOKE TO TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE AND WAS TOLD THEY HAVE NO WAY TO CHECK IF' IT WORKING.I PAID 995.00 FOR THIS OPTION FOR SAFETY FOR MY FAMILY.I WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS A LUXURY FEATURE AND NOT ABLE TO BE TESTED,TOO BAD FOR US.I HAVE TESTED MY CAR WITH CHRYSLER MECHANICS AND THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM.HOW CAN CHR NOT SELL SOMETHING LIKE THIS? THANKS

THE FORWARD COLLISION WARNING SYSTEM HAS NEVER WORKED SINCE CAR WAS PURCHASED. CHRYSLER HAS TOLD US CAR MUST BE GOING 70 MPH FOR SYSTEM TO ACTIVATE. THE CHRYSLER VIDEO INDICATES SYSTEM SHOULD BE WORKING AT MUCH SLOWER SPEEDS (25 MPH). THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE.
