The vehicle jerked, stopped and would not start again. After a while it started, people were honking to move. This happened about 3 years ago. The vehicle jerks often and afraid it will leave us on the street. About 2 years ago, the auxiliary battery ran down the main battery. The car would not start. Had to buy both batteries. The lights come on, engine, traction and auxiliary battery light. This happens often on a weekly basis.
During normal driving from office to home car suddenly started stuttering and I was apply break but speeded up and showed engine light on, I was about to hit front car due to additional speed. During that time I saw few quick messages on the dashboard, the one that I can remember was related with ACC. That's the dangerous situation. I looked d from OBD and found that code was U0412 and reported that code to Huntington Beach Chrysler service station. Please keep an eye out for some similarities between others reports.
After taking my car in for the recall on the battery which required a system update, I’ve had multiple errors that the Chrysler service department cannot resolve. Four times in the last two weeks when I get in the car and crank it, it will not go into drive or the shifter does not work at all. I’m having multiple errors on saying service shifter and service electrical battery that had never occurred before the system recall update. I’ve been stranded multiple times in the last two weeks. It must be related to the recall update that was done in my car. It cannot be a sheer coincidence that I never had issues until the update. The service department is not helpful in anyway and returns my car with no answer. Simple google research shows this is a recurring issue after the update.
Component failute: first the cruse control would stop working while driving. then the engine would rive way up while trying to accelerate and not gain much speed, gas mpg dropped. when breaking to stop i had to push the break pedal harder. when the cruse had stopped and i shut the engine off, it was hard to start, and would bump and shake as if it was hitting on 2 cylinders, cruse still would not work. after i made it home, the next time i started it, it was ok, then the last time i parked it the brake will not depress and it will not start. battery has 12 volts, jumped it anyway break still want depress. took battery cables off shorted them together , did not help. break pedal still will not depress.
I am having an issue with the monitor in vehicle. For several months now have and issue with the backup camera some times working and sometimes it doesn't. It will sometimes be gray or black but will show the lane lines but no outside picture. It will also sometimes show the backup camera but it will be froze and does not move with the vehicle. Saturday had and issue where the monitor was ghost touching the buttons on the screen; it was turning the channel and also changing the air conditioner. I had to cut the radio and monitor off so the air would work properly. was reading online where some people were having this same issue and was saying it was being recalled for software issues, but with my vin number shows no recalls at all. just wondering if this is a issue that should be recalled on these vehicles or if there is another reason for it. If it happens again I will surely get pictures or video evidence since there is an option on here for it.
when driving into a left curve the chrysler pacifica minivan at roughly 10:00 on the steering wheel, the steering wheel locks and is very hard to get out of the locked state. in order to clear the locked state I have to jerk the wheel hard back to the right to get it free. I feel that it will eventually either stay locked in that position and cause a head on collision or if overcorrected will cause the vehicle to swerve to the right and cause a crash. I feel this is a very unsafe situation and have talked to many people with this problem and they have also said the same thing. Also i have read several forums on the internet about others across the country having the same issue. secondly the backup camera has started to not work recently. it started around the same time that the locked steering situation occurred. also some of the buttons on the steering wheel are not functioning properly. volume up when pressed causes the volume to go down and vice versa. i believe that there is an electrical issue in this vehicle and it is affecting the steering along with other items. please initiate the recall for the steering because i do not feel safe with this happening and especially if it is raining. thank you

After safety recall 72B was performed on my 2019 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid on 7/17/25, the vehicle's check engine light illuminated and it began experiencing charging failures. I've never experienced these issues prior to the recall being performed and the vehicle returned to me. The component that has failed is the high-voltage (HV) battery pack and its control system. Diagnostic scans performed by a Chrysler dealer on 7/29/25 confirmed trouble codes, which indicate a critical fault within the battery system. The HV battery is available for inspection upon request. My safety and the safety of others are at risk because the recall was issued to prevent a battery fire. The symptoms my vehicle is exhibiting are precisely the kinds of faults the recall's software update is supposed to detect. The first warning signs, including the check engine light, appeared within days of the recall service. This strongly indicates the recall procedure, specifically the mandatory battery integrity test, was not completed correctly by the dealership. This is a widespread issue, with numerous owners reporting the same post-recall failures online and to Chrysler Cares customer service. Chrysler is not taking this failed recall seriously and are forcing owners to pay for their own rental vehicles while they investigate the "undriveable" vans post-recall completion.
While stopped at a red light my van alerted me that the start/Stop feature was not working, turned itself off and put the van in Park causing much confusion and my almost getting reended as I was unsure what to do.
The infotainment system keeps resetting with screen going black and restarting. This is distracting and I lose data such as directions if I am using navigation. This could lead to driver distraction and risk of accidents. I think that this is a firmware issue and UConnect should provide a fix.
Our pacifica has repeatedly stalled on freeways. The engine will just stop running and will not start for 15 minutes to several hours. If it does start, it often will sputter and stall again if you try to put it in ear or press the accelerator. After some time, the problem will resolve itself and the vehicle will drive normally. This problem is infrequent which is what makes it so vexing. Each incident was more than 6 months apart so you never know when it will just stall out. Because our van was converted to a rear entry wheelchair van by Braunability we've had the conversion components/connections thoroughly inspected by the conversion company dealer. I can see online that this is a known issue with multiple vehicles equipped with the Pentastar V6 engine with stop-start and that there have been recalls but many people on the forum, the recall work didn't resolve the issue. We've had the vehicle to Chrysler dealers several times (four or five) to address the issue without permanent resolution. We've replaced the primary and secondary batteries several times. We've recently installed an aftermarket stop-start eliminator recently in the hope that it will resolve the problem. Additionally, because our Pacifica was converted for our disabled child, we will probably need to sell the vehicle at a significant loss because we can't risk having the vehicle stall on the interstate highway or freeway as we have no way to remove him from it safely. This issue seems so widespread that Chrysler/Stellantis should have continued responsibility to resolve it permanently.
Shifter service keeps coming on. Won’t move out of park. Warning lights come on for service engine, fwc, have been brought to dealer 2 times already. They say multiple vans have been brought in for same issue and don’t know how to fix. They are saying they got it and next morning same issue. Photos attached. Plus a bill for $1500 and still not fixed.
As I'm driving down the road my MIL comes on and tells me to pull over the engine will shut off. My vehicle has had the recall completed. This happened to me on the interstate with my family in the van. This is our only vehicle for the family and need it everyday. Now my dealership is telling me that it isn't a recall issue and I might have to pay for the repairs. This light started coming on about a week ago, and doesn't always come on. But it started to happen more frequently.
On multiple occasions my warning lights come on and my van goes into limp mode. It says it’s my throttle body and gas paddle but I had those put on. Some days the car runs perfectly fine. When the problem happens. I have to cut the car off then restart it. Sometimes it’s ride just a little. Then go back into limp mode. And other times it’s just ride perfectly normal for days. It’s been doing this since I had around 65000 miles on my van.
Lost of coolant with no warning lamps. Engine went into hydrolock and now will not start. Miss fire code appearing before locking up. Dash light power come on and off when the car is off and park. The car has 77k miles and would choke when the car was running and changing gears. Has not been inspect by anyone yet because the car is dead on the drive way.
Over six months later, NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V538000 still has no remedy for an apparent fire risk! I can't charge my vehicle and I can't park it in my own garage. I drive at risk of being in the midst of a spontaneous fire! THE MANUFACTURER has failed or is unable to remedy this safety recall for my vehicle in a timely manner. I bought a plug in hybrid that I can't plug in. I bought it also for gas mileage complimented by the electrical propulsion system, which I cannot use. All the while, a spontaneous fire risk, without a fully known cause, continues to lurk in the car that I drive my kids to school in.
My vehicle suddenly lost power driving down the road at approximately 20MPH. I rolled to the side and the vehicle engaged the electronic parking brake. It's been at Chrysler dealership for over a week and is now a STARS case according to my service rep. .
I’m having trouble with my start stop. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes my motor goes into limp mode for no reason.
The rear lift gate alarm will randomly fail to work causing a risk of someone having something closed up or pinched in the lift gate. If you google the issue for the van there are numerous forum posts of people having the same problem. When it first started to fail it was intermittent and there was no indication as to it failing. Now it has failed completely and never works. The part to fix it is back ordered by mopar and hasn't been available for a long time to fix it.
While driving down the road and slowing down the van put itself into park and shut off. Had to then restart the van.
While driving, vehicle will display "stop safely vehicle will stop soon" and illuminate the battery and auto stop/start icons. This had happened previously and I was advised to have the auxillary battery replaced. After, the issue did not occur for a month or so but happened again. Had been intermittent but the car never shut off as I have read has happened to others. The additional issue I have is several times when I turned the vehicle off after the warning appeared, the vehicle would not start. I have an appointment with the dealership tomorrow to see what they can uncover. I have seen the recalls about this primarily about the EV models (which mine is not) but still want this noted. I have read it has varied from a wiring connector and needing a new transmission. There are currently no active recalls for my specific vehicle. Very scary stuff with a vehicle full of kids at times.
The contact owns a 2019 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while at a traffic light, the on and off switch failed to turn off. While driving at undisclosed speeds, the vehicle shut off unintendedly. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V010000 (Electrical System, Hybrid Propulsion System). The contact called the local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 48,000.

Radio Uconnect resets every 3 to 5 minutes. When this happens screen goes black. If backing no warning on what is behind you. GPS is resetting with wrong location. Wireless calls stop. This has been a problem across all FCA brands and an issue since 2017. I had 2018 Pacifica with same issues. I believe there are two class action lawsuits over this problem. I had to pay $650 to replace radio. No help from Chrysler customer cares NO HELP.
Car seems to slip out of drive. In the Dashboard the D will start blinking and I can no longer accelerate. The message says to shift to park and back to drive. If this happens on time, I can start going again. If I can't get it to register that I've shifted, I will not be able to accelerate and I need to pull off the road. Once I come to about 1 or 2 MPH, the shifter knob will turn itself to park and the car will slam the parking break on. I get the message to press then engine button, turn the parking break back off and turn the knob to drive.
The contact owns a 2019 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that the START/STOP sensor light was continually illuminated. While at a red traffic light, the vehicle independently shifted to park(P) and shut off. The vehicle was restarted and placed in drive(D). The vehicle was taken to an unknown local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the START/STOP battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was determined that the hood latch and the START/STOP battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was unknown.
The following message displays on the vehicle: “Stop Safely. Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon.” Upon receiving the message, the vehicle will stall. This has occurred multiple times while driving on the freeway at 70 mph, while driving on city streets, etc. Every time the vehicle stalls, it is INCREDIBLY dangerous. There is not always time to pull over to a safe location as the vehicle simply freezes up and won't move. This is a van which means that there could often be children in the vehicle. It is a danger to ourselves and to other vehicles around us. We were first told that this was an issue with wiring in the battery. The second time we took it in, we were told that it was because the auxiliary battery needed to be replaced. Now, we're told that we need to replace the generator. Please note that the 2019 Chrysler Pacifica has known electronic issues with the vehicle stalling. The vehicle is at a Chrysler Dealership for the third time this month for diagnostic evaluation and repairs. The error message has been confirmed by the dealership.
The contact owns a 2019 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle there were several unknown warning lights illuminated and the contact was unable to shift the vehicle into drive(D) or reverse(R). The contact stated that the "Service Selector Switch" message was displayed. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle and normal electrical functions returned. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was unintendedly slowing to nearly a stop while driving approximately 65 MPH. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission control module needed to be re-flashed. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred. The contact returned the vehicle to the same dealer who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the selector switch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, however the contact stated that the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was driven back to the same dealer. The dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 26,000.

Have replace both batteries every year since purchased, the engine start stop acts up alot of the time when you pull up to a red light the engine will turn off and then turn on automatically (shuts the electrical system completely down then it will come back on) the batteries like over heat and swell up will this cause a fire
The steering wheel buttons on the left side do not work. I was trying to reset my oil life and the buttons do not work
The dashboard screen automatically shuts down and restart every 3 minutes. Stop/start light stays on.
I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the ongoing issues plaguing my car. This dissatisfaction is compounded by the fact that this car was brand new when I picked it up from the dealership, with no miles on it. Since then, I have encountered a series of concerning problems. At around 30,000 miles, the batteries required replacement, followed shortly by a transmission replacement at 40,000 miles. Additionally, the TV screens throughout the car began shutting off autonomously, a persistent issue that remains unresolved. Subsequently, at 60,000 miles, both the engine and batteries needed replacement once again. Despite repeated efforts to address these issues under warranty, the car continues to experience persistent troubles. It often stalls every two days, and despite addressing these issues under warranty, the TV malfunctions persist. Furthermore, the situation has escalated with the engine now overheating and malfunctions occurring in critical safety features such as airbags, lights, and ACC. These concerns have created a myriad of safety issues within the vehicle, particularly during driving, with multiple safety concerns arising regarding the navigation and various electronic components. It is evident that these safety hazards are all mechanically related and have persisted since the car reached 30,000 miles. Additionally, amidst these significant safety concerns, one of the main safety components of the vehicle is compromised. Intermediately and on a consistent basis, the car doors open on their own, posing a serious risk. There have been instances where my son has inadvertently pressed the door to open from the outside, and the doors open without any form of key input. The key is not present, yet the door opens on its own, triggering the alarm. This ongoing issue has left me emotionally and monetarily drained over the past few years.
On two different occasions and in two different places my vehicle stalled.Once on a highway in a traffic jam and once coming off a highway exit on my way home. In both cases the vehicle simply lost power. It is a 2019 Pacifica Touring L. I looked it up and saw similar complaints concerning the hybrid model but none for a non-hybrid. The vehicle is available for inspection. It is an extreme safety issue as both happened on or just leaving a major highway with lots of traffic. I am taking it into the local dealer hopefully tomorrow. The vehicle has not been inspected by anyone as of this date. No warning lights or messages flashed prior to the events. The vehicle has been serviced by the local Chrysler dealer up until the last oil change at 48,000 miles. On each occasion I instinctively stabbed the "start" button and it fired right up. Dates were 12/01 and 12/09.
-The auto stop and start function component failed, then the battery died and let me know when you want to inspect it. Weekends are best. -The car shuts off randomly. -Unknown -Unknown -The auto stop and start function message pops up all the time, even after the battery was replaced. Car shut down two months ago and wouldn't turn on, had to have it jumped and then replace the main battery. Now it's following the same pattern as last time. I am going to replace the second battery. Sometimes when accelerating it jumps forward and it makes a banging sound. Key has a new battery in it. When key is pressed sometimes horn is weak. It goes on and off. The auto stop and start function message pops up a lot even after main battery was replaced.
Start/stop feature has stopped working (warning light is on), and steering wheel is sticking on short turns requiring extra pressure to right the wheel. There is a recall for this problem, however my car is not included.
Car was stopped at a red light and shifted on its own into park

First appeared right after radio tried to do a software update. I have pictures and videos of the issue. Leased car 2019 until Feb 2023. Purchased car from lease Feb 2023 and car has been inoperative since April 2023. There are multiple concerns from people experiencing similar issues as well on internet as well as videos on YouTube. I have videos and pictures of the issue.
On Wednesday, 7/19, I was stopped at a red light on a busy road in Gastonia, NC (South New Hope Road and Titman Road). When the light turned green, and I put my foot on the gas, the car stalled and shut off. Upon pressing the ignition button, it would not start again. For several weeks, the car would stall at a red light, but would always turn back on by pressing the ignition button. There were NO warning messages whatsoever. I had to cross a busy road to get to the sidewalk to get out of danger. The car was in the left turn lane, stopped with hazards on. My husband had to come, turn our other car around so he could attempt to charge the battery. When he charged the battery, the car started. I had to, again, cross the busy road to get back to my van and go home. We changed the car's two batteries, and it has not happened again so far. Upon reading several Chrysler Pacifica forums, apparently when the battery gets low (it was at 30% when this happened), the auto start shuts off and does not work since there is not enough power left in the battery.
The van completely turns off, engine stops running, when stopped at traffic lights. The van then has to be completely restarted. There is also a consistent issue with the start/stop feature. A warning appears and the start/stop feature is disabled. This error typically occurs after the engine turns off when at a traffic signal.
Vehicle has continually shifted roughly, but beginning last year it stalled while coming to a stop. We replaced the battery and removed the auxillary battery that controls the automatic start/stop and had no issues for almost a year. Approximately a week ago, the vehicle began to stall again when coming to a stop, and giving a message stating to "service shifter." It has happened multiple times since. There was a lawsuit for this model regarding the crankshaft position sensor, but we are only reimbursed if we have paid for repairs. Can you help?
My wife got in the vehicle after shopping and tried to start the vehicle. She said all displays were dark or blank and no instrument cluster lights, no indication on the touch screen. She said she tried several times to start the vehicle and same thing happened. She stated that after waiting a considerable time she tried calling me about the problem but I didn’t answer. She then tried one more time to start the vehicle and this time everything came up normally. When she got home I checked the vehicle for malfunctions and found none. Thus far the problem has not recurred. This happened about 2 weeks ago, around the 8th or 9th of June 2023. I decided to fill this out because if she had been traveling on the Interstate Highway at high speed this could have ended very badly.
For the second time on three months (now four times in one year) the start/stop feature says it’s not working. Both batteries have been replaced. The vehicle will simply shut off while driving.
2019 Chrysler Pacifica Limited 4/15/23- Uconnect radio failed to do over the air update. Since that failure the electrical system in the car has now caused the car to be non functional and intermittent. All the safety features stopped and warning lights came on stating service transmission so the car was brought to Chrysler dealership. Dealership has replicated the problem and now had the car now for over a month and replaced parts, some at my cost with no fix. The problem still occurs for them as well. I have asked multiple times if the radio could have caused this and each time I am told no.
The affected component is the backup camera and warning system. The malfunction happens in a loop around every 3 minutes. My safety and that of others is put at risk when the backup and rear collision warning fails to function and negates backward motion visibility to the driver by such failure. There are no warning lamps currently or any notification of any failure in the car. I have taken the car to the dealership and they have found no issues.
Ever since we purchased this vehicle it has had problems shifting when accelerating it jerks the whole car, and you hear a loud thud. Once in awhile it feels like the car has no power when trying to accelerate. We have had nothing but issues with the Start/Stop control system. We have taken it back to the dealership multiple times. They have replaced the alternate battery two times in the past year and now it is doing it again and will need to be replaced. The dealership just says it is the battery, and a software download. The problem has not been corrected yet. Most recently while on a busy state highway the car decided to throw all error codes, and completely shut down.
Light come on dash board to park safely car will shut down. Car stalls all lights on dashboard will come on, alcar shuts down and nothing work not even the hassard light it goes complete dead. After 20 mintutes r more been shut down it will turn on like nothing happen, no lights on dashboard happen 5 times on ah year and cant find the problem at the dealer. Thanks you
While driving the steering power assist failed. Stop/start and stabilizer icons appeared indicating failure. Vehicle repair eventually made at Chrysler dealership by fixing ground wire. Initial repairs were made replacing other parts that did not correct issues. Not included in recall for same issues per VIN ID of this 35th Anniversary Limited edition.
The Start/Stop system has gone out twice. Once the indicator light came on, the vehicle then will stop working.. sometimes in the middle of a road or while driving. We’ve taken it to our dealer twice, replaced the batteries (twice). I am truly concerned for my family’s safety as it feels like we can’t control the car when it malfunctions. This issue is ongoing, first repair was made July 2022 at Arrigo Chrysler in Ft. Pierce, Florida. Next same place in August.
Please read! This is the 10th occurrence of this issue, and second time posting here as a safety issue. I hope no one else experiences this. The issue still cant be diagnosed, so trying for another time. Last time they had the Pacifica for over 7 weeks! As per previous complaint on Jan 6, 2023 with our 2 year old twin toddlers with us in the vehicle again, the vehicle is still having the same safety issue. I dont feel safe any longer driving my Pacifica. I called the customer care line and was told nothing can be done without a diagnosis. It will be dropped off, but no appt avail for a month. You cant replicate this. No one should have to experience it. **We were driving on the freeway at 55 mph. After 30 min on the freeway at 55-60 mph, the Pacifica all of a sudden states car is not in park, (as it did the previous 9 times) The van will not accelerate, because of the warning saying car is not in park, and Hazard lights wouldn't activate. The car behind me was honking, almost hit me and the car behind them and so on. The Pacifica continued to just glide on the road in the drive position with the same warning over and over car is not in park. We slowed down enough we pressed the brake and put it in park, STILL IN THE LANE ON THE BUSY FREEWAY! With brake depressed, We tried to get the alert to shut off by having the van in park so we can restart it. But the van wont restart as it still says car is not in park, but yet it really is in park. as an FYI, The auto start stop was shut off at start up. We Got the car shut completely off (while still in the lane on the freeway with cars honking away.) and were finally able to get the van to restart, the alerts to go away and off to the side of the freeway and to the exit. Can you imagine how terrifying this is!!! YOU CANT PREDICT WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN! Either you choose drive it and take the risk of your safety or pay for rental to ensure you are safe !! When it is a safety problem, it should be taken more seriously!
The contact owns a 2019 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 MPH, the vehicle lost power steering assist functionality. The instrument panel displayed a message that the Auto START/STOP system had malfunctioned. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who had not yet diagnosed the vehicle. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V348000 (Electrical System). The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The approximate failure mileage was 62,000.

The contact owns a 2019 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated while at a stop light, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled with the START/STOP warning light illuminated. Due to the failure, the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who could not find any default codes with the vehicle. The vehicle resumed normal operation; however, after approximately 3-weeks, the vehicle failed to start up after several attempts. The dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
Hello we had a complete shut down at 5 pm Friday at an intersection this past weekend. While at the light, the car just 'shut off'. The van did start back up with in 2 minutes. There are no engine, battery, etc. warning lights currently displayed. This has happened twice with in the past 6 month. Main battery and auxiliary are both new. All connections are torqued to spec. Very dangerous situation.
Multiple issues. First the ESS system has malfunctioned twice since purchase in 2019, required maintenance and aux battery replacement twice within 1 year. The major issue is the breaks/rotors/suspension. For the last year and a half I have been taking the van in for inspections... initially stated I did not need brakes/rotors at the dealership even though I was having slight squeaking and grinding, after bring it back a third time I was told oh yea you need them and its gonna cost $1,800. I then got a second opinion, they said the brakes and pads looked fine but if I wanted they would replace the pads in an attempt to make the squeaking stop. the squeaking stopped for about 10 days but the grinding and "metal rubbing" sound never has, they replaced the pads 3 more times. They stated it is not the brakes/rotors but fail to give a reason. He mentioned it is a body suspension issue, which I have been asking about for over a year. Very frustrating. Also my sliding van doors keep malfunctioning to work sometimes, or require manual opening and closing with no apparent reason. So disappointed with less then 60,000 miles
The entire dash board lit up with all warning lights turning on. I couldn't go faster than 15. I coasted into a parking spot. I tried to put it in park but it said shifter unavailable. I set the emergency brake and called for a ride. Went back later and it started and the only light that was on was check engine. After that happened we got a service shifter message. When you start it and get a service shifter message, you cannot shift. The shifter doesn't even light up. It started as an occasional problem. My safety is at risk when I try to drive it and it won't shift. I am stuck wherever I am. That is a huge problem during the cold winter months. It is also a safety concern that it went into limp mode. Luckily when it happened, it was early in the morning and not a lot of people were out. If it happens on the highway that is going to be a huge safety problem. It has been to the dealer twice. The first time we replaced the shifter. The mechanic said we must have spilled soda on the shifter because it was sticky. We did not spill soda on the shifter, the shifter is in the dash. We replaced it anyways and picked it up. The very next morning got the same service shifter message. Took it back to the dealer. They had us pick it up because it wasn't a big enough problem. Getting stuck somewhere and not being able to shift seems like a pretty big problem to me. I can't take my children anywhere in this van for fear of going out and being stuck wherever we went because I can't shift.
After spending the better part of the week dealing with endlessly rebooting Uconnect infotainment systems, Fiat Chrysler customers across the Northeast are finally seeing their cars mostly return to normal. A majority of the customers who spoke to The Verge earlier this week about their malfunctioning vehicles have reported back that the maddening reboot loop has stopped. According to numerous exchanges with the Uconnect customer support account on Twitter, other customers are seeing the same thing. For some it’s come too late, as the constant rebooting has drained their vehicles’ batteries completely. The problem began over the weekend after an over-the-air update apparently went out to certain 2017 and 2018 model year cars. After that, something went wrong with SiriusXM’s Travel Link feature. Travel Link surfaces local news, weather, and other alerts in real time, and for some reason — it’s still not clear exactly what, since FCA is being vague about the specifics, and SiriusXM has not responded to multiple requests for comment — it started causing vehicles with 8.4-inch screen Uconnect 4C NAV systems to start rebooting every 45 to 60 seconds. Based on reports from customers who spoke to The Verge, as well ones posted to Twitter, it appears that either FCA or SiriusXM started sending out a “signal” that disables SiriusXM Travel Link sometime Wednesday afternoon. Those who have received the signal have reported that their vehicles are finally free of the reboot cycle. Those who haven’t are being advised by the Uconnect support account to turn their vehicle off, turn it back on again in an “open space where it will receive a solid satellite signal,” and leave it running for at least 15 to 20 minutes. There Are lawsuits and FCA has not fixed this problem. GPS and all other systems will not work properly. There needs to be a recall on these cars 2017-2019!
The vehicle is a 2019 Chrysler/Braun mobility van, my wife is a paraplegic that has no feeling from the chest down. The Uconnect system is the issue. The Blind Spot Alert does not work, the Power Sliding Doors do not work, the Windows will not operate, the Heat go to 76 degrees and will not turn off, the Info Center goes black, the Back Up Camera will not work, the Navigation system stops working, the Audio stops working, the Audio/Bluetooth will not work, the Panel Lights come on but do not work. We were on a trip when the Uconnect system malfunctioned and all the above happened. The temp outside was about 75 degrees and the heat came on and the windows would not work. My wife's foot got so severely burned it needed medical attention and is still dealing with this 3 months later. The vehicle became an oven. With the power sliding doors being inop my wife is either a prisoner in her own vehicle or she cannot enter the vehicle at all. With her limited mobility and the backup camera inop it makes it unsafe for to back the vehicle up safely. If we are not familiar with an area we are going to it makes it that much more difficult to find our destination without the Navigation system working.
Car has shut off, on the road, while driving twice now. Car revs up while driving but loses power and slows down. Dashboard blinks "stop safely, car will shut off soon, service electronic stability control, service trans, shut off engine to engage in park, park assist unavailable" engine is already off because it shut down automatically but car itself would not shut off. Had to disconnect the battery to reset it, got it started and only drove 3 miles to a parking lot and it continously lost driving power those 3 miles. Car revs up really high, but will not drive. Huge safety concern and Chrysler is aware but doesnt care. Car has been "fixed" twice now and still has continued to shut down while driving. It's been at the dealership since October 10th.
Car shut off while driving
Which component or system failed or malfunctioned and can it be inspected upon request? How has your safety or that of others been threatened? I think there is a problem with the circuit part or the engine control device. The vehicle automatically shuts off at low speed or in a parked state, and cannot be restarted for a long time. The engine suddenly turned off and could not be started while driving, posing a threat to the safety of my life and that of others. The transmission controller is completely inoperative, with no display or function. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? unknown Has the vehicle or parts been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? unknown Were there any warning lights, messages or other symptoms of the problem before the failure and when did they first appear? No warning lights, messages or other symptoms, first appeared in October 2022, because I bought a used car, so I don't know if this happened before, but it has happened about 8 times since I bought the car in October of 2022 .
When I come to a stop(or sometimes not even fully) then accelerate to pull off, the rear end or something hesitates & then rams/jerks to the point I thought I was rear ended. This happens several times per week. Also, sometimes there’s no power when I do try proceed through light/stops. It’s like there’s little to no power for about 10 seconds. The breaks are quite loud but dealer says they are good.
Electronic Start Stop (ESS) fails to function. ESS dash warning light is on. Aux battery for ESS, when it fails, slowly drains the main battery. This is similar to the Y65 recall/vehicle campaign for this model car for years 2017-2018. Well, my 2019 and scores more are also affected by this issue, both in and out of warranty.
MY WIFE WAS TAKING MY DAUGHTER TO WORK WHILE WAITING FOR THE GATE TO OPEN THE VAN SHUT OFF AS USUAL AND AFTER THE GATE WAS OPENED THE VAN WOULD NOT LET MY WIFE TURNED IT OFF OR EVEN START IT. THIS TOOK PLACE 3 DAYS AFTER THE VAN WAS SERVICE BY THE DEALERSHIP. THIS SITUATION PUT MY FAMILY IN GREAT DANGER IF THIS TOOK PLACE IN A MAJOR ROAD IT COULD HAVE BEEN CATASTROPHIC. SINCE THE PURCHASE OF THE VAN WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 0-25 MPH THE TRANSMISSION JUMPED INTERMITENTLY AND NOT ALLOWING US TO MOVE FAST ENOUGH TO AVOID SOMEONE FROM RUNNING INTO THE VAN. LUCKILY NOTHING SEWRIOUS HAS HAPPENED YET. RESEARCHING FROM THE MANUFACTURE AND THERE IS NO SUPPORT AVAILABLE FOR CUSTOMERS. I HAVE DRIVEN A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF VEHICLES AND FOR SUCH A YOUNG VEHICLE THIS IS NOT NORMAL, AND I AS A CUSTOMER SHOULD HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET TO GET THIS ISSUE LOOKED INTO AND UNDERSTAND HOW TO RESOLVE IT.
The rear dvd system routinely locks out and you are unable to control the entertainment system at all. Chrysler has no fix for this and it is very annoying. It has been in the shop numerous times with no solution. Also, the transmission will rev high sometimes and then slam into gear and make everyone’s head slam back in the seat. I know there is a class action law suit on both issues. There are multiple YouTube videos of both issues with no fix.
The contact owns a 2019 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated while driving the vehicle at an undisclosed speed, the electrical system warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the auxiliary battery and main battery had failed. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 55,540.

The uconnect navigation system that controls the back up camera to car, the controls for the air conditioning/heat, and all the settings of the car is faulty and causes a short circuit. I have researched that a lot of consumers have problems with the chrysler pacifica uconnect system and they report similar issues. when you go to the car dealer they want to charge you 650 for a new one.
The vehicle would not start. Would not remote start. Literally didn't do anything when trying to start it. Did this before and I had it to the dealer. They replaced the extra battery. Now it's doing the same thing again.
While traveling in the left hand lane I was hit on the right side pushing me into a median. I applied the brakes and they didn’t stop the vehicle. When the van came into contact with the curb. The airbags deployed. I smelt smoke and told my 4 young children in the back seat we needed to get out now. Two of my children were in 5 pt harness car seats in the third row. We were able to run to a safe area before it went up in flames less than a few mins later. There were no witnesses and no one around. My children and I could of been seriously injured or worse. No warning lights were active. No signs of failure until I tried pressing the brakes. The vehicle was inspected by the fire department that arrived on scene when it was fully engulfed in flames at that point.
The van was purchased in November 2019. In November 2020, the vehicle would not start. The tow truck came to our house to give us a jump and informed us the battery was dead. We went to an auto store to buy a battery because the Frisco Chrysler dealership closed on Sundays. the salesman stated that we should go to National Tire and Battery. We took the van to NTB and that's when we found out we had two batteries and they rely on each other. Because we already purchased a regular battery they were able to install it; however the van had to be towed to a Frisco Chrysler dealership to install an auxiliary battery. Frisco Chrysler installed the auxiliary battery successfully. Unfortunately, six months later we were back at Frisco Chrysler because the auxiliary light had come back on. I took the van to the dealership and they replaced the auxiliary battery stating that the battery will only last between six months to 2 years. In June 2021, the auxiliary light came back on and Frisco Chrysler changed the auxiliary battery again. I returned the following day because the auxiliary light came back on. The mechanic stated the wire connecting the auxiliary battery had come a loose and stated he fixed it. In October 2021, the auxiliary light came back on. By this time we moved to Georgia; therefore we took the van to Gwinnett Chrysler. Gwinnett Chrysler stated there was a wiring issue and stated it would cost $1,000 to fix. The struggle is the van isn't three years old, but has multiple problems.
We purchased our vehicle on July 8, 2019 and it was 18,179 miles on August 9, 2021, is slightly over what would be considered eligible under the NY Lemon Law for new vehicles. We took our vehicle in to the Service Center for a routine inspection on August 9, 2021, because we realized our sticker expired only to learn that it would not pass inspection due to the check engine light coming on. After they diagnosed it, we were told the reason for the Check Engine light being on was some wires had supposedly been chewed by rodents. The service department repaired the wires and we paid $979.55 out of pocket for that repair. We were told to pick up the vehicle on August 11, 2021 (with an expired inspection) and drive it for approximately 100 miles and then bring it back in one week to see if they would be able to perform the inspection. After driving the vehicle for less than a week is when the nightmare begins! FIVE INCIDENTS LATER, the vehicle’s electrical system continues to dangerously malfunction WHILE WE ARE DRIVING. The vehicle still can not be inspected. The service department continues to give the vehicle back to us band-aiding every repair of the electrical system and the issue IS STILL NOT RESOLVED. The last incident, the 5th time, we took a trip to New Paltz NY and we received the dreaded Uconnect Service Alert about the Malfunction Indicator as soon as we arrived there. We immediately cut our trip short and attempted to go back to the Bronx to return the vehicle to the Dealer Service center. We called Eastchester Chrysler and left a voicemail that we were on our way to return the vehicle again. The vehicle started to malfunction severely as we were driving on I-87. Practically every system was indicating failure including the Air Bag, Brake system, Electronic Stability Control, Shifter, Steering, etc. The vehicle stalled near Exit 14A Chestnut Ridge. We had to pay $340 to be towed to our home in the Bronx, because it was too late to take it to the dealer.

The UConnect Infotainment system which controls the the radio, air temperature, seat and steering wheel warmers, and many other functions of the car will randomly go blank and the electrical components of the car cannot be controlled. This can happen in the middle of driving without warning and is distracting, but even worse takes control of the vehicle away from the driver. Drivers can become distracted when the Uconnect system malfunctions, taking their eyes off the road and increasing the risk of the crash. They may also lose access to safety features such as the back-up camera and hands-free phone use. Sometimes the problem resolves if turn vehicle off, sometimes the fuses have to be pulled, and sometimes the vehicle has to go to the dealer. Chrysler has not addressed this issue properly with software updates as it keeps happening. Here is a list of components that will not work when UConnect radio goes blank: - GPS and navigation system keeps turning on and off, or doesn’t work at all - Rear-view backup camera doesn’t work when reversing, or stays on when the car is in forward motion - Uconnect theater system doesn’t work properly (no radio, rear DVD, music, etc.) - Climate control isn’t responsive - Heated seats don’t work or are “stuck on” - Loss of Bluetooth connectivity, which is necessary for hands-free calling - TV monitors fail to turn on, connect and/or sync with the Uconnect system There are currently class action lawsuits on this matter. https://www.classaction.org/chrysler-pacifica-uconnect-screen-camera-gps-theater-lawsuits Please hold FCA accountable to get a proper fix out to stop this issue. I have personally experienced this problem multiple times and have been to the dealer twice to try different firmware updates and still have problem. I am not alone in dealing with this issue as many on forums and discussion groups have shared the same problems.

THE VEHICLE STALLS OUT WHILE ACTIVELY DRIVING IT DOWN THE ROAD ON A CITY STREET. THE VEHICLE STOPS MID DRIVING, IMMEDIATELY SHUTS OFF, LOSES ALL POWER, AND ENGAGES PARK BY ITSELF. THE VEHICLE THEN FAILS TO RESTART AND LEAVES DRIVER STRANDED IN UNSAFE CONDITIONS. HAPPENED THE FIRST TIME DRIVING 40MPH DOWN A CITY ROAD. DRIVER WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED. AFTER 20 MINS DRIVER WAS ABLE TO GET IT STARTED AGAIN ONLY TO HAVE IT HAPPEN HALF A MILE DOWN THE ROAD. HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED BY CHRYSLER TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP. THEY FOUND NO STORED ERRORS AND SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG. THEY INSTALLED A FLIGHT RECORDER IN THE VEHICLE AND WE PICKED IT UP YESTERDAY. 10 MILES AWAY FROM THE DEALERSHIP WHILE DRIVING ON ANOTHER CITY ROAD THE VEHICLE AGAIN SHUT ITSELF OFF WHILE DRIVING, HAD A COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER, AND LOCKED ITSELF INTO PARK MODE AND WOULDN'T RESTART. THIS TIME HAD MY ENTIRE FAMILY AND TWO YOUNG CHILDREN IN THE CAR TRAPPED IN THE MIDDLE ON A BUSY INTERSECTION. VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED AGAIN TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP AND THEY CLAIM THE FLIGHT RECORDER DIDN'T PICK UP ANYTHING. A CLAIM HAS BEEN OPENED UP WITH FCA HEADQUARTERS AND AGAIN NO ONE IS ASSISTING IN THIS ISSUE. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.

THIS VAN WAS PURCHASED BY A DEALER WITH APPROXIMATELY 23,000 MILES. IT WAS SOLD TO A RETAIL CUSTOMER AND THE FOLLOWING DAY IT CAUGHT ON FIRE IN THE CUSTOMERS GARAGE. WE HAD IT TOWED TO A CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP AND CHRYSLER SAID THEY WOULD NOT ACCEPT ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR FIRE, EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE IS CLEARLY UNDER BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY. AFTER LEAVING IT THERE WHILE TRYING TO GET CHRYSLER TO FIX IT WE FINALLY SENT A TOW TRUCK TO PICK IT UP. THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER GOT IN THE VEHICLE TO PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AND IT CAUGHT ON FIRE AGAIN. THE ENTIRE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE IS BURNER/MELTED AND CHRYSLER REFUSES TO LOOK AT IT OR REPAIR IT UNDER WARRANTY.

I HAVE BEEN DRIVING A NEW PACIFICA FOR OVER A WEEK NOW AND I KNOW THE ELECTRONIC START/STOP SYSTEM IS JUNK OVERALL. ON A FEW OCCASIONS, IT SEEMS THE ENGINE RE-ENGAGES WITH A SHUDDER AND HAS DELAYED US FROM GETTING ONTO A ROAD WHICH IS A SAFETY PROBLEM WITH TRAFFIC BEHIND ME OR GETTING INTO TRAFFIC FLOW. THIS FEATURE SHOULD HAVE AN ABILITY TO BE PERMANENTLY DISABLED BY THE OWNER IF UNWANTED INSTEAD OF HAVING TO PRESS A BUTTON EACH TIME THE CAR STARTS. WE PRESS THE BUTTON EVERY TIME, BUT THE FACT WE HAVE TO PRESS THIS EVERY TIME WE START THE PACIFICA IS IRRITATING. HONESTLY, THE ESS SYSTEM SEEMS TO BE FAULTY IN IMPLEMENTATION.

THE STEERING WHEEL PULLS TO THE RIGHT OR TO THE LEFT WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. HAPPENS RANDOMLY ' NEVER KNOW WHEN IT WILL TURN IN EITHER DIRECTION. WHEN DRIVING AT 60-65 AND PASSING A SLOWER VEHICLE, IT OFTEN REQUIRES FIRMLY GUIDING THE CAR AGAINST RESISTANCE BACK TO THE LANE. REQUIRES DRIVING WHILE GRASPING THE STEERING WHEEL FIRMLY TO PREVENT THE VEHICLE FROM VEERING FROM ITS PATH. WILL ALSO OCCUR AT LOWER SPEEDS BUT NOT AS OFTEN. ALSO, WHEN DRIVING ON AN EXPRESSWAY THE STEERING, SOMETIMES BUT NOT EVERY TIME, BECOMES UNSTABLE IF A TRUCK PASSES IT. IN THOSE INSTANCES, IT VEERS TO EITHER THE RIGHT OR THE LEFT. THE CONCERN IS THAT IT COULD VEER DIRECTLY INTO THE PASSING VEHICLE IF THE DRIVER IS LESS THAN ALERT AND NOT FIRMLY GRASPING THE STEERING WHEEL. DURING A LIFETIME OF DRIVING, I HAVE NEVER BEFORE EXPERIENCED A VEHICLE THAT FELT AS DANGEROUS AS THIS ONE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHO PROCLAIMED IT IN PERFECT RUNNING ORDER. I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE CHRYSLER (CASE NUMBER 58533009) AND WAS ADVISED TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND TRY TO CONVINCE THEM TO TAKE IT ON A TEST DRIVE. HOWEVER, THE DEALER SAID THEY TEST DROVE IT, WHICH IS DOUBTFUL SINCE THE MILEAGE NUMBER DID NOT CHANGE WHILE IT WAS IN THEIR HANDS. THE DEALER HIGHLIGHTED A COMMENT ON A REPORT TITLED 08-ELECTRICAL/BE-ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES/MODULE, ELECTRIC POWER STEERING (EPSM)/DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION THAT READS: VARIABLE SERVO STEERING: WHEN THE SPEED OF THE VEHICLE IS INCREASED, THE MODULE REDUCES THE AMOUNT OF ASSISTANCE TO THE COLUMN. POSSIBLY CHRYSLER, IN THAT STATEMENT IS REVEALING THAT THE STEERING MECHANISM IS UNSAFE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS.
